Next one because I can't stop thinking about this AU now:

Charles-Markl, a sorcerer in training under the tutelage of "The Cat King", who specializes in magical disguises and pocket dimensions (biggest successful one currently is a "bag of tricks")

Crystal-Calcifer, a fire demon currently magically tied to "The Cat King" due to a deal turned curse

Monty-Turnip Head, a missing prince from a neighboring kingdom, cursed to be a scarecrow (because I think that's hilarious)

Niko-Lettie/Martha (taking a little from the books for this one), one of Edwin's only friends before he disappears, Niko goes to learn magic from another witch (hi Jenny) to see if she can find her dear friend

Cat (Meatball?)-Heen, a lazy spy for the Night Nurse turned semi domesticated house cat

Esther-Witch of the Waste, kinda self-explanatory I think

What’s the story with Gary and Kate? Like do we know why she cut him off? When the last time they spoke etc?

We don’t know anything about their relationship with certainty. We don't know anything about most private relationships with certainty. I can't say when William last spoke to his uncle either lol.

He was at the royal wedding 13 years ago (but so were almost 2000 other people, including Carole and Mike's butcher, so who knows if that means anything) and Pippa’s 7 years ago (although he was only invited to part of the day which is usually only something you’d do here with people you’re not as close to - work friends, your parents' friends, extended family etc - so we don't know whether that suggests they aren't close or whether there's a different reason). Both weddings happened before his assault charge in late October 2017 and then he was reportedly not invited to James and Alizee’s wedding in 2021 which again could mean he's been cut off but could have a different explanation or may not reflect Kate's relationship with him. As for why she would theoretically cut him off, I mean...everything he says and does? He assaulted his ex-wife and trades off his relationship with Kate very explicitly.
