Used to write for The Witcher, Supernatural and BBC Merlin, but not anymore. Currently writing for The Untamed and Mysterious Lotus Casebook (mostly the latter). There's one Love Between Fairy and Devil ficlet in there somewhere. I can't see myself making the space for anything else soon :')

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I have a terribly hard time writing fics that end angsty, the best I can do most times is bittersweet. That being said...

It will never be the same (1.5k) - Jiang Cheng returning to the Jiang Ancestral Hall after Guanyin Temple and speaking to his dead family. The night after Guanyin Temple, Jiang Cheng finds himself standing in the Jiang Ancestral Hall. Some things, long realised but unspoken, finally get said.

Found (34.5k) - Lan Wangji's angsty boy winter, set mid-canon during the 16 years wwx is dead and brimming with OCs. I really wanted to wallow in what made him the man he is during those years. Naturally I sent him off to a village beyond the Jianghu and gave him a boyfriend. It's incredibly angst filled and the ending is hopeful, but still sad by my standards.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'm a hopeless sap! Too many of them are happy endings!! Given my current MLC brainrot, I'll have to say it's the three post-canon liansanjiao fics I've written with them being soft together and at peace <3

I have a special soft spot for Foolish though, because Jiang Cheng deserves a happy ending story ;-;

Do you get hate on fics?

I'm not popular enough for hate hehe

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

YES!! It took a lot of work but now I do! Sometimes very explicit, sometimes not. It's mostly chaotic and soft and at times emotional. Laughter and banter during sex is cocaine to me and it shows.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Sadly, no

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Have gotten a couple of requests to translations into Russian and French, but none of them ever went through as far as I know

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Oh, there are too many, but the one I'm most invested in rn is a postcanon MLC fic where difang manage to save Li Lianhua's life and very many Feelings are had.

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue is what I've been told. Specifically, I think I do a good job of finding each character's voice. This is something I've been consciously working on and I think it's been paying off, especially the last year or so!

What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot!! I cry every time I need to plot anything. That's why most of my fics are mostly just Vibes

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Ohhh I'd love to do that though I haven't yet. I think it would mean fewer people would read it, but that has never stopped me from writing a thing >:)

First fandom you wrote for?

The first I posted was a Witcher fic, but the one I started writing first was BBC Merlin. It still has a chokehold on my psyche

I assume what's keeping the chengxian numbers down is the wangxian of it all, with a dash of insistence from the western fandom that its incestuous. The chengqing numbers are being kept down by the annoying "haha look at jc being pushy with a lesbian who hates men". I have no explanation for the ships that DID spring up, but ig if you want to write a JC romance but dont care for the above you have to get a little more creative. Could have spread it out more tho. jc/jgy, jc/lwj, jc/wn, jc/jzx etc

ahhhh, “mean lesbian Wen Qing,” my beloathed. sure would be nice to see femslash with her given this prominent headcanon!! sure would be great!!!!

(Fun fact! If you filter the page for The Untamed on AO3 for Wen Qing’s name, the top relationship in the 5,822 results is, in fact, Wangxian, with 4,157 fics. 🙃 274 people who are doing the Lord’s work have written femslash with her and Yanli.)

Xicheng is just. So basic. I’m sure it can be done but I don’t?? Understand it??* He is one of the few people with whom Jiang Cheng doesn’t have meaningful entanglement. He and JGY raise a kid together! He and LWJ are united in their search for WWX and then have 13-16 years of unprocessed grief that manifests as animosity! JZX is barely even a character, but he and JC go on that cross-country road trip together to rescue Wangxian from the cave, and JC sure seems to miss JZX for his own sake when he talks about his death later! He and WN are both WWX’s third wheels who save each other’s lives but also lowkey blame each other for WWX’s suffering!

Sangcheng can stay tho. I’m not here for the characterization of NHS that takes his headshaker persona at face value, but any dynamic with his actual self ranges from 👀 to extremely funny.

* Okay. You could have Xicheng helping each other process their respective griefs, because Jiang Cheng does have experience with mourning a loved one reviled by society for atrocities, some of which killed other loved ones. He also has experience with his brother quite literally fucking off with his boyfriend instead of offering any sort of support lol. So I could like it if done thoughtfully! But I doubt very much that that’s what’s going on most of the time.

Four Ships:

1. Wangxian (Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian from MDZS) - greek mythology was one of my passions, still kind of is, but lately I've been venturing out to danmeis and man what can I tell you, Wangxian's love story is beautiful and worthy of the countless retellings (a 5 book series, a 50 episode LA/ the cql, a donghua, a manhua, a chibi anime, YOU NAME IT!!) The way they portray selfless love got my heart all melting up into so many happy pieces (Wangji carrying the 300 strikes on his back, raising WWX's kid, okay i'll shut up now). I may not retweet/reblog them as often as other MDZS content but that's only because if i think about them too long I go clinically insane (j). Shoutout to SangCheng being my favorite MDZS secondary pair tho, Jiang Cheng & Jin Ling as my fav platonic pair and 3ZUN for my favorite poly ship.

2. Sukka (Suki/Sokka from ATLA) - Migrating to twitter to join the ATLA fandom in 2021 was... an experience. But if there was one thing that kept me going through every drama popping out, it's them 💚💙 god i love mutual respect and rivals to lovers and the way they look so simple yet their love is so strong like they found each other in the war EVERY. DAMN. TIME!! Also I'm weak for the goofy guy and the cool girl dynamic, and they nailed that dynamic to the ground. It's a very important pair to me, at least enough to make half of my edits on twitter about them and a dedicated account to daily pictures of them that I don't really update that much anymore.

2. Arenos (Ares/Hypnos from Hades Supergiant / Greek Mythology) - I've had lots of greek myth ships, Zeus/Hera once occupied my mind a lot. Now, maybe it's because both these gods are hardcore favorites, but i love this ship a lot. It's about the war/dream dynamic, the guys struggling through parent issues and finding healing with each other, Ares only being soft around Hypnos and Hypnos letting his guard down for once and allowing himself to be angry and sad towards the one person who understands it (at least Hades!Hypnos would, as he is the reason I love Myth!Hypnos a lot more now). I just think they're neat :>

4. Ninglan (Ningguang/Yelan from Genshin Impact) - One of the first pairings someone would mention when talking about Genshin is Beigguang, the really really popular ship between Beidou and Ningguang. I, however, chose pain. Ninglan excites me because it's a lady in a high position and her operative who does her dirty work,,, but it's more than that. Yelan also helped Ningguang get that position (thru legal but errr still sus means). Yelan is someone who thrives off of danger and pain, Ningguang gives her a job that makes her feel fulfilled, but when Yelan was at her lowest point, when her colleagues died and left her emotionally drained and scarred you know who was with her? Ningguang. It's about the mutual understanding and trust they place in each other, to look at each other and understand what the other is saying by just a glance. They're the embodiment of Phoebe Bridger's "Graceland Too." I love them a normal amount.

Last Song: Funeral by Phoebe Bridgers. I relate to it, after my cousin died. Everytime I feel sad I listen to it and think of my tita (aunt). It makes me feel less alone, and the song is relateable ("I don't need you to tell me what that means, I don't believe in that stuff anymore.") A worthwhile listen when feeling melancholic.

Currently Reading: Mo Dao Zu Shi Vol. 1!! Already finding the donghua and cql, I need a doctorate in this story because I love love love it.

Last Movie: Do series count? If so, my last series was with my mom, In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal, which is basically a netflix documentary of fucked up Korean Cult Leaders cases. It's quite respectful about its topic and uses real life testimonies. I'm throroughly disgusted by their actions but the marites in me wants to know more.

Craving: for my little cough and cold to end ;) and maybe cheese popcorn. I miss popcorn.

Four ships:

Zeus/Ganymede: feel like it'd be a crime not to start here, haha. I've always been into mythology, but randomly thinking about Ganymede's myth a couple years ago now (that long!!) got me wanting to read Greek myth stuff, and I started with the Iliad (for the Trojan-related angle) and the Bibliotheke, and so. I might currently be more focused elsewhere but this is still my beloved ship <3 You can do so much with them, and, especially, I'd say, by interpreting them as mutually in love. There's obviously other m/m couples in Greek myth and even one of those that at first looks tragic doesn't need to end that way (Apollo/Hyacinthus) but there are so many reasons Zeus/Ganymede is the one that has me by the throat.

Menelaos/Paris: Honestly, looking back I'm not quite sure how I didn't zero in on this one from reading the Iliad itself the first time, because this is definitely one of the flavours of ships I love. This ship is also what led to, first, Helen/Menelaos/Paris for me and then Helen/Paris, because 99% of the time I just don't care at all about het ships. This ship is also why I currently am like I am about Paris! Make no mistake, I didn't hate or dislike him before that, either, like the majority of Tumblr (and elsewhere) seem to do; reading the Iliad I mostly thought him kinda hapless and inoffensive, so going from there and liking him wasn't that big of a step. The possibility of them having bonded during those nine days in Sparta (or in Troy!), going from friends (or more) to enemies with complicated feelings still in the background is just so damn juicy to me.

Carmilla/Laura: original novella flavour! One day I hope to do a rewrite/retelling of my own, that would definitely end with Laura going or otherwise together with Carmilla, one way or another. The way Carmilla talks to/about Laura and what they feel for each other is just. so great. The caterpillar quote. The one about Laura loving her or hating her, and especially "love will have its sacrifices; no sacrifice without blood". And you know. The boob-biting to feed is extremely inspired and very hot, even if Le Fanu undoubtedly didn't mean it that way. I don't care. They're mine now. :)

Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker: Since I am so deeply into gen&family ships aside from romantic/sexual shipping, it feels, again, like a crime not to mention these two. The ST might have broken the back of my fannish engagement in SW currently, but these two? I love them. I love Luke's impossible and earnest belief in his father's inherent goodness, I love that fucking scene at the end of ESB where Vader reaches out and Luke reflexively, despite everything, says 'father?' HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE IT???

Last song: Oh, uhh... I don't remember, but it's possible it was Teeth by 5 Seconds of Summer (happens to be one of my Helen/Paris songs for late war lol). I end up listening to a row of songs while drawing, sometimes (which is the only time I can listen to music and actually do something else at the same time), but it could have been another one, just as well.

Currently reading: Iliaden - en cover, by Dimitrios Iordanoglou, which is a (pretty heavily, sometimes) abridged and modernized version of the Iliad where the language is extremely slangy sometimes and the setting has been moved into "present day". Everyone uses guns and stuff. Apollo's main epithet is now "the Bomber" lol and he uses bombs and grenades. It's both extremely fun(ny) and really interesting, even if the language used sometimes make me wince even when I get why he's chosen it. But it's exactly because I know the changes he's made etc. that makes it extra interesting. When he keeps lines word-for-word from the Iliad they both stick out and fit in very well and it's interesting to see that, too. Also, and much longer than the above, is Paris in the Epic Tradition : a Study in Homeric Techniques of Characterization by Roberto Nickel, his thesis from 1997! I've mentioned it before; Nickel is exploring the possibility of the Iliad having changed/presented Paris (a lot) differently from how he might have been in traditional oral epic material. It's really interesting!

Last movie: Dungeon and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves! Loved it, a lot of fun, and despite how long it was, it all moved along at a good clip, nothing dragged.

5.  Hello! May I just say that you are probably the best at finding fics that fit every mood. I’m looking for fics where the Golden Core transfer doesn’t happen (but JC still loses his core). Concept: Post-canon SangCheng with past ChengYao (more or less a secret due to politics but NHS knows, simply because I do not wish another public humiliation on my boy JC)

Oooh, nice!

I'm totally pro avoid humiliation for angry grape man, not just bc poor guy has had enough, but also bc it could be very politically detrimental, not to mention dangerous if the mob was to to ever discover Sandu Shengshou was involved with the now disgraced Lianfang-zun. It could easily turn him into the scapegoat for whatever problem happens next. And NHS would know that perfectly.

As much vitriol as NHS would forever feel for JGY, once canon happens I think he would keep mostly quiet about him, not just in this scenario. But specifically here mostly out of respect for JC. I'm assuming chengyao lasted until Guanyin temple, where all the *waves at canon* happened, so it would all be very painful, full of conflictive emotions.

Sangcheng would have to happen after a decent time for JC to first come to terms with the man he thought he knew, him questioning everything they shared, processing the sense of betrayal but also the genuine feelings that were there. Lots of disappointment and guilt.

Maybe NHS being there for him would be what starts sangcheng once JC eventually starts to move on, but it would be very tentative and slow. JC has lost too much and it would seem like he really can't keep anyone he loves. Not to mention that he lost his person bc of NHS. It was never proved but JC would know. Could he blame him tho? Wouldn't he have done the same? It's not like NHS made any of those crimes up, those happened. JGY did it all. But would JC have cared if JGY ever told him?

So NHS would be there, quite and reassuring, in a way hating JGY all over for causing JC all this new pain, but at the same time feeling the slightest twinge of regret for being the reason JC lost his family again. He can only try to be a new one for him.

Tysm!! I'm going to mostly answer this specifically about The Untamed/CQL, but there might be some overlap with the book/donghua bc the Untamed was not my introduction to the characters! Also because my answers to some of these questions are inevitably related to my fanfic reading experiences, which tend to blur the line between CQL and MDZS...

The first character I first fell in love with:

I'm pretty sure it was Lan Wangji? I already loved WWX from the donghua but Xiao Zhan's WWX took a few episodes to grow on me compared to Wang Yibo's LWJ. At this point I'm not really sure what my hangup was with CQL!WWX but we've long moved past it...

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:

Xue Yang... I do love him in the book/donghua too, but I absolutely adore Wang Haoxuan's portrayal in the drama!!

The character everyone else loves that I don’t:

I'm not sure... I feel like I do like most of the characters besides the few exceptions (Wen Ruohan, Jin Guangshan, Jin Zixun, Su She, etc). I guess I'm not really much interested in Jin Zixuan outside of his relationship with Jiang Yanli? He's a fine character and I get why people like him I'm just not as invested

The character I love that everyone else hates:

I mean besides Xue Yang who is a divisive character for a reason? For one, I'm not on this train of hating on Jiang Cheng that's been going around. He's not perfect but he's not the root of all evil or something-- I'm invested in the relationship angst. Other possible answer: Lan Qiren. There are some great moments in the drama where it's obvious how much he genuinely cares for his nephews!

The character I used to love but don’t any longer:

Once again, I'm not sure I have an answer for this one. I think the closest thing to a character I don't love anymore (which psa i still love them) is that I used to think lwj was my favorite cql character for a while and now I'd say wwx

The character I would totally smooch:

The juniors are too young for me, Wangxian is too in love, I am *not* getting mixed up in whatever SongXueXiao or 3zun have going on... I think the logical answer here is Nie Huaisang tbh. And he'd probably even be good at it!

The character I’d want to be like:

You see, the characters I probably relate to the most as a burnt out "Gifted Kid" are Lan Wangji and Nie Huaisang. Which is... fun. I used to be a lot more like LWJ, and ngl I could use some of that clear judgement + hyper competence + no fucks given he's got going on post time skip.

The character I’d slap:

Jin Guangshan and/or Jin Zixun 🎉🎉🎉

A pairing that I love:

Okay I've read fic for a lot of different ships but (if we assume Wangxian is a given) my other favorite CQL ship is XueXiao!! Domesticity, angst, Identity Porn, and enemies to lovers, all set up right there in canon <3

A pairing that I despise:

CQL has a lot of ships that would read under the right circumstances/in the right mood... Generally I don't vibe much with Xicheng, SangCheng, or Chengxian but there's nothing wrong with them per se and I have enjoyed specific fics that included them. I'm not a huge fan of Zhuiling either but, again, it can be done in a way that I like it.

I guess maybe Wen Ruohan/Lan Qiren or Jin Guangshan/Lan Qiren? I can kind of see the appeal of a relationship that ended in tragedy (bc they are dicks in the current time frame and also not on good terms) but honestly I am just not into delving into WRH's or JGS's love lives. Y'all do you tho, no judgement here.

You, Asleep and Dreaming (9.6k) - this one is so 🥺🥺🥺 its set post cql ending wangxian reunion n is just sort of about.. how their relationship progresses? lots of sweet moments that make me feel like a little freshly baked muffin. its very tender n sweet n has Just the right amount of realistic conflict to be emotionally rewarding and doesn't just like... drag on for the sake of being Sad tm. there's a part sorta in the middle thats right Before some spicy activity but its both v brief and easy to scroll past

a thousand tomorrows (8k) - oh ho! an illusive sangcheng fic! its a Very tender established relationship fic where they're just sorta.. figuring out how to be together I guess? I think its written very realistically and just. so tender like SO tender like unbelievably tender... appeals to my "jiang cheng and nie huaisang deserve to be Soft with each other" agenda

I think I might be in trouble (I think I might be in love) (13.1k) - another sangcheng fic recced to me recently!! also feat. some wangxian! as you will find if you look at my other list I go crazy go stupid for a good modern au n this one is really sweet!! the way the timeline is set up is kinda confusing in this one?? but its a rlly nice exploration of jiang cheng and his feelings and his relationship with nie huaisang with some good good yunmeng bros content too :")

drawn to the blood (5k) - this ones got it all... wangxian.. jiang cheng loving his brother so much...... lan wangji and jiang cheng having to deal with their negative feelings towards each other... lan wangji gets hurt on a solo nighthunt and jiang cheng finds him and has to rescue him and bring him back to the cloud recesses. I really like the way jiang chengs love for and resentment of wei wuxian are portrayed in this fic n I think its v realistic! n I love anything that forces lan wangji and jiang cheng to cooperate together lmao

Five Times Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng Had a Civil Conversation, and One Time They Didn't (7.3k) - I literally Just reread this one and it is so sweet n fun n made me laugh a lot!! its a bunch of little snapshots of wei wuxian and jiang chengs post canon encounters and even tho I prefer my post canon yunmeng bros to be at least a Little reconciled, I still rlly enjoyed this fic!! its got some sweet wangxian moments and Lots of good juniors antics and, of course, the twin heroes of yunmeng.. it's not a super heavy serious yunmeng bros fic like I usually read but it definitely still has some Emotional parts esp towards the end

Lan Wangji takes a sick day (5.4k) - sick fic sick fic!! haven't read this one in a hot moment but it's wei wuxian takin care of sick lan wangji from lan wangjis pov.. lots of tenderness and intimacy n just....... thats what Love is babey!!! very soft :")
