He leaned against the wall in his corner of the room, eyeing Destino with a semi-serious face, for a moment. Then he smiled, as if wanting to rub in what he said next.

"It's been nagging me how much you say you hate fairies, yet you've openly talked to us. Even me, of all Pokemon. So what's the big deal, huh? Are you all talk? Is the almighty 'Prime of the Underdark' really the Fairy-hater I heard so much about?"

*Destino casually approached Lief, a small smirk showing on their face. Felix turned to watch from the bed upon which he rested.*

Destino: Listen, fairy, I can hate someone and still be somewhat open to conversation. Easier to find out information about all of you so I can use it for my own gain. Ultimately, I'm here to save the world and fulfil my end of the bargain with Mirage, and I can only do that by gaining as much insight from you as I can. If I had it my way...

semi-formal intro to my(?) new au: the Reinhold Mystery Journey AU!!

based directly from @dearesthershel's (not so glowing) video essay on LMJ, i wanted to really take the idea and try and run with it!! details under cut~

RMJ officially takes place 16 years after the events of Unwound/Lost Future, Flora Layton Reinhold is a relatively well-known detective making rounds as following in her guardian's footsteps as a brilliant mystery solver. A now 32 year old Flora (formally known as Detective Layton by her peers, Flory by her 14 year-old sister Katrielle), having opened her office a year after UF/LF, is being given her assignments by the Chief Constable and soon-to-be Commissioner of the Yard, Barton.

Joining her is her assistant and now world-renowned journalist, Emmy Altava! Now 43, she's mellowed out quite a bit since the Azran Legacy (though she still hits and hits HARD). Summoned to Flora's side by an unknown individual, she vows to help the good detective however she can, either intellectually... or percussively.

Together, they're thrown into a myriad of cases dredging up places and faces both old and new, as each mystery resolved leads them ever closer to the cold case of the mysterious disappearances of the Professor and his blue-clad assistant years ago...

The Daedric Alphabet

The Daedric alphabet is used by both the Dunmer and the Daedra, the Dunmer using it as a remnant from a time when they worshipped the Daedra, before the Battle of Red Mountain in the First Era.

Exceptions

The letters Xayah (X) and Yahkem (Y) are sometimes omitted in scrolls and books, leaving only a blank space where the letter would be. They appear more commonly in banners and signs.

Writing styles

Daedric is not always written from left to right. On occassion it is written from up to down instead. Some places even write it upside down or mirrored, though this is less common. However, the most interesting way to write it is the decorative way often used in signs and banners, where the letters can overlap each other and vary in size, though the starting letter tends to be the largest, and different in colour than the rest.

Traveler's advice: If you ever journey to Morrowind, learning the basics of the Daedric alphabet can really enrich your journey, and also lessen the humiliating need to ask for directions when standing right by signs written in Daedric.

@sockdooe, I think that person was attempting to argue, with some exceptionally odd choice of words, that Sheith shippers are "nasty", because Shiro and Keith first met when Keith was a child. I assumed, based on the seven year age-difference and the fact that Shiro and Adam were cohabitating and headed toward engagement, that Shiro was at least twenty-one and Keith was fourteen and a high school freshman, when Shiro came out to Keith's school.

Not Shiro eighteen and Keith twelve.

Steven Yeun's voice was pitch-shifted in the flashbacks, but not enough to suggest that Keith hadn't even started puberty, yet. And, I don't think even fictional military academies recruit middle schoolers to be communications experts, data analysts, engineers, and pilots.

The majority of Shiro/Keith shippers only ship them in the context of both of them being legal adults, anyway, so I thought we were largely past the Keith/Shiro shippers are "pedophiles", angle.

Journey to the West Chapter 69

Welcome back to this week's chapter of Journey to the West with @journeythroughjourneytothewest. And can I just say, that I believe we have a very worthy chapter to be the coveted number 69. So let's get into it shall we?

I guess Wukong isn't completely just bullshitting these people and does have some medical skills, because he is able to take the kings pulse using just three strings made from his own hair. And after doing so he finally declares the kings ailment is caused by fear and anxiety, which is caused by a certain illness that I am just going to call 'Missing His Wife Disease'. for reasons that will become clearer later. Anyways the king agrees that this is indeed what's wrong with him, and asks Monkey to prescribe him some medicine for him. Medicine other then the return of his wife I guess.

So Monkey tells them to send three pounds of every kind of medicine to the College of Interpreters and allow Pigsy and Sandy to receive it for him. After that Monkey goes to collect his master to bring him back to the College of Interpreters, however, Tripitaka is told he has to stay behind as 'insurance'. However, once Monkey cures the King, they will of course be happy to sign his papers and send him on his way. Tripitaka is of course smart enough to read between the lines to take this that if Monkey fails to cure the king, they won't be allowed to go their separate ways. Monkey just reassures that he's got this, and to just relax in the palace for now.

When Monkey gets back to where the rest of them will be staying for the night, Pigsy asks him if they are finally quitting this tiresome journey to open up a pharmacy instead. Monkey tells him, that once they cure the King, the journey will be back on, and that he only asked for this absurd amount of medicine to prevent them from figuring out what he used in his cure.

They are soon interrupted by two college officials who are inviting them to dinner, they are much more polite to them now that they may be future co-rulers of this land. During dinner, Sandy asks where Tripitaka is, and Monkey says he's being kept at the palace as security for now, but assure hims that he will be fine. And Pigsy agrees saying that Tripitaka is probably getting even better treatment then them.

Once night falls, Monkey gets to work on his miracle cure. The first ingredient? A laxative. Sandy expresses concern at proscribing a laxative to someone who has already been weakened by illness, but Wukong assures him it's completely necessary. Next up on his ingredient list- another laxative. And that's it I guess, though in all fairness Monkey also tells Pigsy to scrape some soot from the bottom of the frying pan as a third ingredient. However all of this is practically just window dressing when compared to final, most powerful, and wonderful ingredient of them all...

Horse Piss.

Monkey tells Pigsy to go and fetch this final ingredient from their horse, but Sandy tells him to stop messing around. Unless his plan is to have the king er... purge himself from both ends. Monkey however insists that there is a method to his madness, see- as easy as it is to forget, their horse is actually a dragon, and dragon pee, apparently has innumerable health benefits. Upon hearing this, Pigsy goes to collect the pee, however, the horse doesn't pee, not even when Pigsy kicks him a few times.

After Pigsy unsurprisingly fails, Sandy and Monkey go with him, only for the horse to design to speak to them for once. The horse explains that his urine is powerful stuff, fish who drink it will turn into dragons, and it can change grass into divine agaric, he can't just go leaving it around willy nilly like that! Monkey explains that this is a serious matter, they have to cure this king in order to continue on this important quest after all! And with that, the horse finally decides to give them what they came for.

Now that they have the final ingredient they mix them all together before shaping them into three pills. The next morning they are brought to the palace to present their cure to the king. Monkey presents the cure, which he has named 'Elixir of Black Gold' to the king, and tells the king that he will need to take one of two supplements with them- one easier to get then the other. The first option is six heavenly items boiled in water, and that water used with the pills. The second option is source less water- which is a fancy way of saying rain water.

So the king orders someone to pray for rain, and Wukong decides to help them out, as previously established, Monkey is rather good at summoning rain. So Monkey calls up Aoguang the Dragon King of the Eastern Ocean, and asks the dragon for some source less water. The Dragon King says that's a problem, since he came alone and didn't bring anything to make rain with. Monkey says that's fine, they don't need a whole storm, just a little water to use as a medical supplement. So the Dragon King relents and says that in that case it should be fine if he just sneezes a couple of times for the rain- and Monkey agrees- after what better to wash down a dragon piss pill, then some dragon spit?

So every employee of the palace goes out with whatever rain collection item they have on hand, to collect as much of the little rain they can, luckily with all of them together, they are able to collect enough for the king to use. So the King takes the three pills with the rain water and after the laxatives do their thing, the King declares himself cured. The king pays his respect to Tripitaka, and invites them all to a banquet to celebrate.

At the banquet the king invites Tripitaka to drink with him, but Tripitaka declines for religious reasons, but allows for his disciples to drink in his place. So the king gladly presents Monkey with three goblets of wine in a row, Pigsy feeling rather left out, says that his Majesty also owes him, after all in that medicine there is horse-Monkey interrupts him before he can tell the king exactly what he consumed earlier, and Monkey hands Pigsy some wine just to shut him up.

Once the festivities start winding down a bit, the King finally designs to reveal the cause for his anxiety. The king tells them that his queen was kidnapped from him three years ago, by a demon calling himself Jupiter's Rival, who lives in a Cave of the Mythic Beast on Unicorn Mountain. So Monkey asks if he would like him to defeat the fiend and return the queen, and the King says if he can do this, he would give his entire kingdom to him. Monkey however just asks if after abducting the queen, if the fiend has ever come back. The King replies that he comes every few months and asks for two palace maidens to serve the queen. They built a shelter to hide in when the demon comes by, but they can't do anything against him.

So Monkey asks that the king show them this shelter they built. Pigsy of course kicks up a fuss about having to leave the party early, so the king orders his men to carry a bunch of vegetarian food and wine to the shelter, so they can just have another banquet there, which Pigsy is agreeable to. So the King shows Monkey the shelter, which is under a slab of stone and buried twenty feet deep with nine chambers. Monkey however is unimpressed, since if the monster really wanted to get to them it totally still could. As soon as Monkey says this a gust of wind picks up, signalling the return of the monster, and causing all the officials and Tripitaka to flee into the panic room.

Pigsy and Sandy also try and make a break for the shelter, but Monkey stops them, saying they should stick around to find out just what kind of monster he is. Neither Pigsy or Sandy are able to recognize the demon however, so Monkey just leaves them to guard the others, while Monkey goes to confront him.

At the start of this project all I wanted was to 'learn how to draw' using comics as a medium and the MDZS audio drama as inspiration.

I've come *very* far from making simple, 3 panel black and white comics, and I truly do intend to go even further. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on throughout 2023, it has been an incredible year in so many ways I never could have imagined. I look forwards to drawing throughout 2024 B*)
