[PT :: Notes]
This post is not about me, even though I'm the one making it, the only interaction I care about is the attention given to the users I have listed. I am a simple white boy from Detroit. I do not want you to listen to my voice, I want you to follow my finger as I point to the voices you should be listening to. Along with that, you may notice not many users are listed. I have noticed as well, and I feel that says something about this community. Something that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I am not blind, I have seen how our community treats POC and it is honestly pretty damn abhorrent. Many users speak over POC voices or simply don't take it seriously. Rather than actively being anti-racist, a lot of people just put shit like "racists DNI" in their rentry's or carrd or anything and call it good. There is no active fight against racism here, simply a passive acceptance whenever it rears its head. If you reblog this post, if you interact with this or me in anyway, I want you to take the time to follow any of the coiners I've listed. POC deserve a space here too. You need to be more than just not racist, you need to be actively anti-racist. If you're a black MOGAI creator of any kind, please promo yourselves in the replies. I will do my best to add anyone who does to this list.

BEWARE OF "body mod advices" - they can be dangerous and LETHAL.
(this post was about a deactivated blog but extends to any possible future blog like it)
edit3 since he deactivated: Red told me in the DMs that he WILL be more careful about all this risk stuff, I believe he is going to do better. Im sure he's a good person and he also was extremely civil in the DMs. Since he's not here to defend himself anymore I'll gladly take his side and say that despite this mess, all Red wanted to do was indeed reduce harm and potentially save lives. Good luck on all your endeavors, Red, I wish you a beautiful and successful career and that you have a great positive impact in the atypical dysphoria community, both on and offline. I don't know how my post truly impacted you, I'm so sorry if you're feeling bad. You acted the best way you possibly could.
Second, if Red comes back, DO NOT HARASS HIM, let him be himself and don't let his past hold them down.
Third, all my points still stand for their deactivated blog and any potential body mod tips blogs in the future. Please everyone, take care, stay safe.
Past edit: DONT HARASS any possible blogs like hers, just REPORT and spread awareness, (also don't make the same mistakes as me: TALK TO THEM FIRST)
Past edit: minors please interact with this post, forget my bio for this one
Past edit: editing editing the post since I talked to Red and he isn't bait. I definitely should have talked to them in DMs first. I sincerely apologize. So sorry Red! To those reading, don't make the same mistake as me, ok? Always talk to people privately first, I genuinely fucked up bad. This mistake of assuming others intentions, can traumatize them. If I were in Red's shoes I'd be traumatized. So yeah, I fucked up bad.
Their intentions are genuine but my point still stands that its extremely dangerous and can't qualify as harm-reduction / end edit note
alright, I'm not transid/radqueer but you guys need to REPORT AND WARN OTHERS of these accounts as soon as they appear. Do not entertain them, no matter how desperate you are to transition. You can become a victim of dangerous charlatanism.
LONG POST AHEAD, VERY IMPORTANT NEVERTHELESS
Archive to what i'm about to post
Red claimed to be "a non-professional surgeon, planning on getting better with practice." Bad move!
Red has told me he's pursuing a medical degree and won't actually do non-qualified surgery.
.
Red: "The blog is centered around an idea of "extreme" body mods that I would like to explore further, [...] things like breaking and re-mending bones, creating new joints, replacing skin, etc."
My point: the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and your blog was unsafe.
.
To any possible counterarguments: "But they (people following/asking advice) know the risks!" That's victim-blaming. Red gave himself the responsibility to give harm-reducing advice, but he didn't do a good job.
"But I know the risks!" You can't possibly know the risks because Red doesn't know either or "kinda knows" but has not properly informed his audience, it didnt give sources, oversimplified their advice and failed to provide accurate information about risk. Or gave plain misinformation.
Again I'm not transid, I can't possibly imagine what you're going through in order to try anything at all to feel better, including trying experimental surgery not legally available or not researched at all. However, please please please do not become a victim of medical deceit or whatever tf it's called. Even if the blog owner tries their best to be reliable.
They might sound confident, but they do not know what they are saying, what they're telling others to do.
.
Ask: "How would I make my skin gray without tattoos?" (DO NOT SHAME THIS USER BTW)
Red: "[...] I assume you want permanent grey. To do this, it's pretty simple, although it'll take a lot of time. Basically, what you want to do is to constantly be exposed to lots of silver. Any product with silver in it like specific lotions and skin creams. also fish, milk, mushrooms, and whole grains tend to have silver in them! So tldr, consume lots of silver!"
STOP!!! DONT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE!!! DONT OVER-EXPOSE YOURSELF TO SILVER!!! "Silver toxicity causes argyria. Silver toxicity occurs when too much silver is in your body." <- from a simple research on "too much silver in blood"
THE RESULT WILL BE ARGYRIA. EVEN IF YOU DO IT SLOWLY, YOU ARE BUILDING UP A HEAVY METAL IN YOUR BODY. THE GREY SKIN IS NOT PRETTY NOR WITHOUT GRUESOME SIDE SYMPTOMS.
Yall. Anything in excess will fuck up your body, including iron, vitamins, and silver.
To whoever asked Red, I don't know your mind, but I'm sure you'd love to live a happy life with grey skin! You'd love to have a body you're comfortable with and looks rad as hell! But you wouldn't be able to enjoy it if you're deeply sick with ARGYRIA, WHICH IS WHAT RED'S ADVICE WILL GIVE YOU!
.
Ask: "How do I get darker skin without going too dark? I’m pale and burn easily, I just want a color similar to Lin Manuel Miranda" (AGAIN DONT HARASS THIS USER)
Red: [...] "expose yourself to the sun more! As you do this, you'll get tan which will protect you from future burns and make your skin slightly darker, do this enough and you can engineer your skin to be as dark as you want!"
THATS MISINFORMATION! Yes you may tan to get darker (Lin's tone may or may not be achievable to you) but one: it's not permanent unless you're constantly going out; two: SKIN CANCER!!!! DONT OVER-EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE SUN!!!! USE SUNSCREEN!!
TO ANYONE SEEKING A MUCH DARKER TONE: YOU CAN'T "GO AS DARK AS YOU WANT TO" BY TANNING. Just look at people who have lived their whole lives outdoors like farmers! White people can't tan to black! There's a limit to how tan you may get! Are you seriously gonna risk skin cancer for an impossible thing???
.
Red: "Self amputation is really dangerous! You should learn how to use a tourniquet, that way, you can stop the bleeding! [...]" WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR SOURCES, RED?
If anyone reading this is seriously thinking of amputating themselves, and will not change their minds no matter what, please just have someone immediately drive you to the hospital. I do not support such operation and you can still die or get horribly sick even with your best precautions, but you better receive actual medical attention and stay alive rather than trying to heal it yourself. Because what you'll most likely get from following Red's advice is DEATH FROM BLOOD LOSS. Again, if you absolutely cannot get rid of this dysphoria with therapy, or manage it at least, or have a doctor do it for you, I still would NEVER suggest you do it yourself, but IF you end up doing that then at least please go straight to the hospital instead of trying to heal it yourself.
.
Red: "do not try and break your own bones to make modifications! [...] Get another person (Like myself) to help you with the bone breakage instead."
NO ONE KNOWS WTF THEY'RE DOING. YOUR FRIEND DOESN'T. RED DOESN'T (as they advertised in the post). NO ONE IS GOING TO GET MODIFICATIONS LIKE THIS. NO ONE IS GOING TO BE HAPPY. EVERYONE IS GOING TO BE EITHER IN PAIN, RISK OF HORRIBLE INJURIES OR TROUBLE WITH THE LAW. FUCKING AROUND = GUARANTEED BOTCHED OPERATION.
Also, now that Red has clarified she won't perform surgery until having an actual degree, you can't really go to her XD
.
Red: "Some advice for surgery [...] This one's important, make sure your patient is strapped down and properly sedated, if they move, even slightly, you risk hitting a vital artery or organ, if you do hit an artery, don't panic, this is why you learned how to use a tourniquet! if you hit a vital organ though, odds are you won't know how to fix that, so be extra careful with abdomen and face surgery!"
Thats still promoting medical malpractice, mutilating and potentially killing friends, dangerously downplaying surgery so much, this is not harm-reduction
.
Ask: "I want to be blind in one eye, but more-so in the sense of extreme but not total vision loss. I want to do something permanent in the future!" (AGAIN DONT HARASS THIS USER)
Red: Well, a simple fix to your problem is just get some calcium hydroxide in your eye and wash it out a few minutes later, this should lead to permanent, extreme (but not total) vision loss in that eye. Keep it in too long and it can cause total vision loss so be careful!
Ok so, it's great that you're trying to come up with alternative ways for users not to kill themselves by gouging their eyes out, but you've still failed to give them the full picture
From a quick search "calcium hydroxide in the eyes": Exposure to the skin can produce burns, painful irritation and necrosis, and exposure to the eyes may cause severe pain and vision loss that can be temporary or permanent. If calcium hydroxide is exposed to the skin, contaminated clothing should be removed, excess amounts of the chemical should be wiped off and the affected skin should be flushed repeatedly with water. Victims of calcium hydroxide exposure to the eyes should flush their eyes with water continuously for the first 15 minutes, but all cases of external exposure should receive immediate medical care. Inhaling calcium hydroxide through the nose or mouth can also cause immediate, painful and potentially life-threatening complications. Throat and nasal passages may become painful and swollen, and the swelling may restrict airways, making breathing difficult or impossible. If the calcium hydroxide particles are carried all the way to the lungs, this may further complicate breathing. Victims of this type of exposure should be taken immediately to a fresh air environment, and emergency services should be contacted right away. Administration of oxygen and emergency respiratory assistance may be required.
.
Red (answering an ask): "the question shouldn't be what DO people replace their skin with, it should be what CAN they, after all, just because it's never been practiced or very rarely practiced doesn't mean it's bad or impossible! Of course, my personal favorite skin substitutes are rubber and red velvet, I am also a big fan of stainless steel."
(Don't promote such an operation). THIS OPERATION IS BAD AND IMPOSSIBLE TO SUCCEED. SKIN CAN ONLY BE REPLACED WITH SKIN. SKIN IS A LIVING ORGAN. ANY OTHER SUBSTITUTE WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE BODY PARTS OR DIE.
YOU KNOW HOW PEOPLE WITH TRANSPLANTS NEED LIFE-LONG MEDICAL ATTENTION SO THEIR BODY DOESN'T REJECT IT? HOW TF WILL YOU DO THIS WITH FUCKING RED VELVET?
YOU WILL FUCK UP YOUR BODY'S IMMUNE SYSTEM A THOUSAND DIFFERENT WAYS.
ANYWAYS. CROSSTAGGING FOR REACH. PLEASE EVERYONE REBLOG. THIS IS SERIOUS SHIT.

Dissopet
Pt: Dissopet :End Pt
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A dissomei subterm related to thinking that one has a pet, which makes the user, whether it be because of delusions, psychosis, an alter who does have a pet, atypical dysphoria, etc to feel disconnected from from their external pets, or lack of such. This is not voluntary.
This identity does not support transitioning or tips / subliminals / advice / etc in cases where it's harmful, unethical, overly dangerous, or furthers misinformation.
Inspired by This post (Link) with the term never actually being coined to my understanding. If it was, just consider this a(nother) flag for it.

Templates and why
Pt: Template and why:End Pt
Long
[X], a Dissopet subterm related to thinking one is a owner of [x] / which makes the person, whether it be because of delusions / psychosis, being an alter who is an owner [x], atypical dysphoria, etc, feel disconnected from their external pet ownership status. This is not for " for fun" or voluntary.
Short
[X], a Dissopet subterm in which someone is disconnected to their external pet ownership status, believing they are an owner of [x] instead; it is against transitioning if it is harmful to the user or others, or is generally unethical.
Why coin this?
There are many reasons why one just can't get what ever pet they desire. It may be illegal in their area, they may be too expensive, may be an animal that doesn't exist irl or no longer exists irl, having allergies to a certain animal (From mild to life threatening), may be unethical (either in obtaining said animal or owning one safely), wanting a specific individual animal that someone or some group already owns but don't want to give up, or may be entirely impractical (Such as owning a dog that weighs 130 pounds when you live in a studio apartment and you have no time to take out for walks), with there being many more reasons why one may use this term.

Why Arissomei/Arissodic is its Own Term
[PT: Why Arissomei/Arissodic is its Own Term. END PT. ]
proof read by the boyfie ♡
An argument I've seen a lot of people use against arissomei/arissodic terms is that "They're just TransID/TransX terms relabelled!" or that "There's other terms that also fit this definition." Personally, I'm a user of arissomei terms so I may be bias, but this is why I feel as though arissomei/arissodic deserves its space as its own term.
When it comes to people saying that it can be replaced by different terms - when haven't there been terms that overlap? Nonhuman, alterhuman and transspecies overlap in their own ways but have things that set them apart. Arissomei is similar to transspecies, but exists as an alternative. Arissomei is similar to aldernic terms, but exists as an alternative. Arissomei is similar to transID and transX terms but is separate because of its clarification (that the term is intended for those with psychosis and who experience delusions, atypical dysphoria and/or a disconnect from their physical body.)
Arissomei terms aren't just 'transID'/'transX' rebranded because transID and transX terms are either: A.) stolen from other groups or B.) isn't specifically for those with psychosis, delusions, atypical dysphoria and/or who have a disconnect from their physical body (so could absolutely be used for fun and by people who think it's "cute" or "aesthetic.") The clarification between who arissomei terms are intended for versus the broadness of who can use transID and transX terms, as well as it not being a stolen term, is what sets it apart from them.
One common argument I see used against arissomei is that the creator is against the coining of arissoharmful terms which is obviously the creator being against those who's atypical dysphoria causes them to want to be harmful in some way (sarcastic). The creator has stated that the reason they (?) don't want coining of arissoharmful terms is that they don't want to make it seem like they're glorifying or romanticizing those things—which is entirely valid! Despite this, it STILL posted an umbrella term for those who use the arissomei term and experience this type of dysphoria, arissoimmoral!
Having terms that are inherently "I want to be [X]" but applied to things like TERFs, abusers, literal nazis IS glorification and romanticization of these things whether you mean for it to be or not. Your intent when using/making these labels (i.e. transnazi, transabuser, transharmful terms in general) doesn't fucking matter when you compare it to the effect. These things aren't something you want a term for that implies you want to transition into them, and openly showcasing it as a "I want to be this harmful thing and I'm proud of it!" IS harmful.
This isn't to say experiencing harmful atypical dysphoria isn't valid or that suddenly you can't use any terms to ease that dysphoria. You can experience it, you can find ways to ease it, you are valid, but using transharmful terms is does more harm to other people who experience the same as you. You are doing harm to your community, your friends, and yourself by perpetuating and continuing the use of transharmful terms and that arissomei terms are just "transID"/"transX" with a new label slapped on top.
@acetrappolaswife @arissomei @arissodic-archive in case any of you want to reblog!

Biblione Info
[Pt/ biblione info /end Pt]
I want to explain more on biblione and different examples of ways one could use this label. I also want to have a reason to write a post talking about this label because I love it.
Coining post; Biblione [ link ]
I want to specify that this label can be used as an allion, aldernic, gender, orientation etc. It could also be used to describe ones atypical dysphoria. This can be used in any way as long as it's referring to books/series. There is no wrong or right way to identify with this. These are just examples and reasons as to why someone may identify with it.
Reasons
[Pt/ reasons /end Pt]
Someone may feel atypical dysphoria over not being a part of a universe inside books.
One may find that a certain scene within a book describes ones identity.
A cover of a book may feel very gender to someone.
For fun
For hoarding
Etc.
Examples
[Pt/ examples /end Pt]
Here are some example definitions and templates to use for future coining posts. This can be arranged to fit however one fits.
Template;
A biblione term based around [ x ] [ and the chapter/scene], this can be an allion, aldernic, gender, orientation etc.
Examples;
A biblione term based around dune where one feels they should be in the dune universe for any reason. This can be an allion, aldernic, gender, orientation etc.
A biblione aldernic term based around the supernatural books/series.
A biblione alt term based around the teu books universe where one feels a disconnect to the universe feeling like one should be in the teu universe.
Etc.
Flags
[Pt/ flags /end Pt]
The two flags made are just general flags one can use. There is no wrong flag to use/make. One can make simplified flags or something that is self induldged. Its all up to the user's interpretation.
Stances
[Pt/ stances /end Pt]
I get the need to want to add stances on labels but man, I don't care. This term has no stances because I can't stop someone from using an identity wether I agree with them or not. Don't like it? Idk there are other terms with stances. I'm an adult and have better things to do than waste my time getting mad at every tiny thing online.

Joyqueer
Tumblr media
Image description of flag is tba
I want to preface this coining post with the following:
This blog is not a discourse blog or a coining blog! We don't take requests for this stuff. If you start shit you will be blocked and ignored! ^_^
The emojicode (cus we're a sucker for 'em): 🌤️🌈
Feel free to do whatever the fuck you want w/ this flag, it's a pretty flag, have fun with it!
This is a long post, be prepared HELP
Tumblr media
Joyqueer is essentially a blankqueer term where one prefers to focus on positivity. They try and look on the bright side of things, even in the darkest of hours.
Even though Joyqueer focuses on the positivity, it doesn't condone toxic positivity. We're not naïve, the world isn't sunshine and rainbows 24/7. We look on that side when applicable to ease life and stress because focusing on the bad 24/7 and being drowned in misery is painful and hurts.
This stance is for good faith terms/identities, follows P.L.U.R (Peace, Love, Unity (and), Respect), and users might spread positivity and joy amongst others.
This stance is supportive & inclusive of/to the following:
Mspec queers (ie mspec lesbians, gays, biles, bipan, etc.), gender anarchy (being a girlboy, transfemasc thing, having no gender while having gender, etc), & relationship anarchy (being aplatonic, being loveless, having sex with your friends and or doing things with friends that others consider "weird", polyamory, being with objects and or stuffed animals, etc)
System inclusive with the respect of cultures and against spreading misinformation.
Inclusive of ones with cluster B disorders and to educate about them and spread joy to the ones with the disorders that are suffering. NPD abuse doesn't exist, and pw HPD/BPD/ASPD aren't bad for existing!
Anticontact paraphiles that are just existing in a world that sadly doesnt understand them. attraction isn't action and no matter how ""harmful"" the attraction is (attracts cannot be harmful as thought crimes dont exist), you aren't a bad person for something you cannot control.
Anti-censorship in art and storytelling; fiction freedom in the largest of sense. Fiction isn't on the same level as reality, characters are the dolls you play with.
Youth liberation; realizing that the youth isn't stupid and that children are people too.
Atypical dysphoria and the ones that're nonhuman and or alterhuman, extranthrope, altsex, therian, objectkin, conceptkin, etc. A means to spreading positivity and joy to the ones suffering with odd and unusual dysphoria. This includes transhumanism and the personal choice of deciding what one does to ones body; this includes things that you'd find personally uncomfortable/harmful.
This stance is not supportive & inclusive of/to the following:
Transitioning to harmful transids (transnazi, transracist, transblack, transasian, etc.)
xenosatanism
any sort of harassment
antitheism/abolition of religion
Like I said above the cut, any sort of hate will get deleted. Spread positivity to the ones that need it, the world needs more positivity. If one has any questions, feel free to ask! :]

Hello, I'm incredibly confused
I see that this term is anti transition, I then see that that term is ok with transition as long as it isnt harmful (which,, to me, seeing how it was added as some sort of afterthought feels terrible in of itself as I literally searched for months for an alternative term to to this one thats okay with transition for non harmful atypical dysphoria only to find that this one is but it's just an afterthought but I digress) and then almost every single subterm I find coined for this term is anti transition. I don't get it. If you could explain to me, it would be well appreciated. Thank you
This is an understandable confusion! And hopefully this archive can help clear it up. Which the feeling that it was tacked on is a fair feeling, since it brought to the coiner's attention that some forms of what some would consider to be Transition/Transitioning, with this then being added in on a reblog that nonharmful (Either to one's self or others), Or "appropriate, glorify, fetishize, or romanticize anything" (Link) then it is fine. And most blogs use a template that the coiner provided either being "Long form" or "Short form." The "Long form" (link) template where it either says "This term is not for "transitioning" of any kind either and is not radqueer or transid friendly and not comparable to transgender" OR "This term is not for "transitioning" if it ends up harming or appropriating others or hurting you (in this case) and is not radqueer or transid friendly and not comparable to transgender", with most coiners using the second in their coins. The "Short form" (link) template has "and is against transitioning" , "and is against transitioning if it stigmatizes/appropriates any groups" , "and is against transitioning if it harms the user" , "is for transitioning" (This being for hair color, eye color, & profession) , "(Only against transitioning if it's for intersex subterms)" (For dissosex) , "and is against transitioning if it harms the user or is used as an excuse to harm others". Some terms don't mention any stance on transition at all in this format. Such as "Arissoxblood, an arissoblood subterm in which someone has an involuntary disconnect to their blood and makes them believe they have x blood/their blood is x" likely due to any form of transition either being improbable or outright impossible, So it honestly somewhat depends on the subterm, and the general stance that is stated with Dissomei is that it isn't for transition if it A. Harms the user or others and/or is used to justify the harm of others. B. Glorifies, romanticizes and/or fetishizes something, or C. Would involve appropriation of some form. So while early in the term's life it's fair to think it was tacked on, it was developed in a large understanding of "While transition for some things in some ways is fine, for others it is not, and this term is not for transitioning when it involves these things (See A,B, and C above)", with this being included in the templates that most coiners use in some form, such as with wiildpariiah's disso coins saying "This identity does not support "transitioning" tips / subliminals / advice / etc in cases where it's harmful, furthers misinformation, or appropriative.", Rwuffle's coins not saying anything about transition, The-moguys coins having "is supportive of transitioning when it doesn’t hurt others, yourself, appropriate, glorify, fetishize, or romanticize anything", with the only prominent disso coiner I can find being Redacted-coiner with most of his terms stating "This term is not for "transitioning" of any kind". Hopefully this has cleared at least some of this up for you anon. Sorry for the late reply since in my timezone, it was past the time that I generally allow myself to be on tumblr, and was out and about for most of the day today and wanted to give you a proper response which I couldn't give trying to draft this on a phone.

Note
do u have any personal favorite disability headcanons? or any headcanons you've never mentioned before? I've been forever in love with nikolai with paranoia... No pressure to answer at all btw!! I saw you said you're having a difficult time so I figured..!! if you want to answer you can :)
Hi anon! Thank you for the ask, it means a lot!
We have a few actually...
Fyodor PPD (Paranoid personality disorder) and is a wheelchair user. He also has AIWS (Alice in wonderland Syndrome)
Kenji has something with his spine (I don't know a lot about disabilities that impact the spine so I can't give specifics)
Yosano is deaf and uses JSL to communicate
Nikolai has BPD (Fyodor is his FP)
Chuuya also has BPD (Dazai is hs FP) and is a programmed system
Lucy has hypodontia/supernumerary teeth (I don't think this classes as a disability but trust me on this)
Atushi has asthma
Lovecraft has weak muscles when in human form and uses a rollator
Poe probably has persecutory delusions
I've seen Ranpo having Peter Pan syndrome featured here and I agree wholeheartedly. He's also go atypical dysphoria about age stuff because of this.
Kunikida has OCD and autism
Kyouka has PTSD and high empathy caused by this
I need to add all of these to the to do list.... Thank you for asking anon, this was a really nice ask and we appreciate it (also we're adding paranoid Nikolai to the q as well).

Nonhumanity & Roleplay: On Not Taking Things “Seriously” Enough
Author: Page Type: Essay Words: 777 Summary: A short look into the idea that the "fluffy" ways people express themselves or interact with their alterhumanity are markings of legitimacy.
[Part of the Sol System’s Alterhuman Writing Project for NaNoWriMo 2021. If you don’t want to see these posts, block the tag #inkedpaws]
Though not as much of a problem within community spaces in modern times as it has been in the past, the idea that engaging with your kintype or theriotype in a more light-hearted fashion is functionally “fluffy” and delegitimizes otherkin, therian, and fictionkin identities is something was existed in an extensive and radical way in most alterhuman places up until the late 2010’s. While this is something of a belated response to it all things considered, it should be noted that this attitude hasn’t dissipated entirely and can still be seen at the peripherals within certain groups and communities.
The logic of such usually goes that if someone is engaging with their kintype through roleplay, such as playing themselves in a live action roleplay (LARP) or a tabletop role play game (TTRPG), or is otherwise finding more whimsical ways to express their kintypes, such as creating kinsonas or by wearing clothing items which relate to their kintype, then there is a higher chance that they are “fluffy” or not taking their identity seriously. These accusations can be aimed at younger and longtime members alike, over the smallest of things—one alterhuman Tumblr user in the early 2010’s was dogpiled on (no pun intended) by many therians, otherkin, and fictionkin after fundraising for and obtaining a paw tattoo that related to their own nonhumanity. In other scenarios this can also crop up as personal attacks against “unrealistic” kintypes, such as wolves with wings or blue eyes and using such as an excuse to gatekeep individuals out of specific communities.
There arises an issue when how someone engages their own personal nonhuman identity is taken as a marking for their identity’s legitimacy. I’ve mentioned this before in previous essays, most recently in “On Ugly Instincts,” but it bares repeating: while it is fair for an individual or community to be upset if others are misappropriating their terminology and experiences, such as we see happening in real time with “Kin For Fun” groups, there’s a necessary line to be drawn about someone who is outright attributing false definitions to previously established terminology, and someone who fits within the boundaries of terminology in a nonstandard way or while also engaging in atypical actions.
It’s no one else’s place to be the judge, jury, and executioner on someone else’s identity, especially in regards to their creative expression, connections it may have to hobbies, and potential species dysphoria-reducing or euphoria-inducing tactics. Not only is it unhealthy for people to be so strict and judgmental on personal relationship levels, but this is also just a toxic and embittered attitude overall. It curbs stomps so much self-expression and enthusiasm, muting the incredible amounts of bright variation that exist within alterhuman community spaces. It’s also just generally an excuse to be an enormous, gatekeeping asshole.
Plus, admittedly, the idea that people must be always treating their alterhumanity with near-reverence and utter seriousness just isn’t realistically. Our identities may have their nitty gritty aspects, sure, but for every wolf intent on devouring entrails, there’s an elk bugling obnoxiously in the distance. For every protagonist dealing with their exotrauma through therapy, there’s also a protagonist trying to recreate the horrible handmade alcoholic drink their best man dared them to chug from their wedding. And hell, those examples could be the same person just at different times! No one’s relationship with their alterhumanity is static and they shouldn’t be expected to portray it as such. It also just isn’t healthy to try and treat alterhumanity almost as this pseudo-burden, something that shouldn’t ever be viewed lightheartedly and should instead only ever be spoken about in either professional, impersonal terms or regarding the Serious And Important Experiences with no in-between.
It’s been a relief to see the community start to shift towards more accepting viewpoints on this. More and more when I see people speak about their relationship with their alterhumanity, they also include things which aren’t strictly alterhuman and which expand into categories that five or ten years ago likely would have been avoided entirely. Connections between alterhumanity and queer identity, hobbies, self-expression…it’s great! We’ve also seen this result in the sprouting of entire new terminology in the communities, such as terms like kinsona and concepts like kinpunk and ontopunk. It’s a small thing for sure and likely something I’ve only really noticed due to how long I’ve been lazing around in alterhuman spaces, but it still warms me to see. I love that our communities have become more inclusive over time, even despite all of the KFF and anti-otherkin nonsense floating out there in the space of the Internet.

Learn about me and this blog below 👇
About Blog
This is @t4t-lover’s blog with a focus on trans men. I hope to reblog and post trans male related art, trans male related poetry, trans male related social justice discussions, trans male related resources, and trans male related positivity.
About Me
I am Hamish, or “Mish” for short. I am a transgender man and I use he / him promouns exclusively. I am 24. I am white and I am located in the midwest United States. I am bisexual. I am in a polyamorous relationship with a wonderful trans women. I was raised as a Christian and am now a Hellenistic Pagan. You can learn more about me at @t4t-lover.
Who can follow?
I encourage anyone who wants to follow this blog to do so, including non-trans male trans people and cis people. I will state however that I will not stand for transphobia, radical feminism, transmedicalism, or transandrophobia truthers (the belief that transadrophobia is a real issue). I will also not put up with anyone who only talks about transphobia that trans men face at the expense of trans women.
How can you interact with me or my blog?
You can ask questions or seek advice in my direct messages or in my ask box (anon or not). If you think what you are asking advice about is something that would benefit others or if you’d like input from people other than me consider using the ask box. You can send me posts you think would fit this blog (especially if you or your friend crafted them and you want them to reach a wider audience). You can ask me to tag something either as a trigger tag or for ease of navigation. You can alert me that I interacted with a user or content that harms someone or is generally problematic. You can request I bring attention to a similarly themed blog (especially if it highlights issues faced by trans women). You can share stories or feelings in my ask box regarding trans manhood. If you are transgender you can send me your latest donation post and I will reblog it.
What I Believe
You don’t have to agree with me on every point here to follow or interact, but I know it can be helpful to know where I’m coming from.
Transmisogyny is a useful term whereas transandrophobia is not. Transmisogyny exists to describe a specific experience at the intersection of two oppressive spheres, transphobia and misogyny. Transandrophobia does not accomplish what transmisogyny does because androphobia is not a coherent oppressive system in the way misogyny is. Men are never oppressed on the basis of being men. I believe that if trans men want to talk about transphobia specific to their experience that the word transphobia or phrase “transphobia against trans men” are perfectly adequate tools.
Regardless of their relationship to womanhood or manhood all trans people should be able to comfortably use words and terms like misogyny, internalized misogyny, and toxic masculinity to describe their own experiences as they see fit.
While there is nothing wrong with doing whatever it takes for you to personally navigate trans healthcare and medical transition it should be known that the medicalization of the transgender experience is antithetical to trans liberation. Someone’s experience, or lack-thereof, with dysphoria or medical transition is entirely their own business and has no bearing on whether or not they are trans.
While passing is not the goal for all trans people, the concept of passing is important for many trans people to communicate aspects of their mental health and proximity to danger.
Nonbinary people who identify as transgender are transgender, and that includes nonbinary people with atypical traditionally non-gendered identities like stargender, various xenogenders, various neurogenders, and so on.
Not wanting to label your gendered experience and collecting various micro-labels for your gender experience are both fine places to be.
People who identify with cultural genders aren’t inherently transgender or nonbinary, and whether or not they chose to also identify with the transgender community is up to them.
Trans men are capable of perpetuating misogyny towards all women. Trans men are capable of perpetuating transmisogyny towards trans women. Trans men are capable of perpetuating nonbinary erasure. Cis women are capable of perpetuating transphobia. White trans people are capable or weaponizing white fragility against people of color.
Trans men don't have full access to male privilege but men of color, same gender attracted men, and disabled men don't either.
Trans men being proud of their manhood is a good thing. Trans people being proud of their orientation or lack thereof is also good, even when that orientation is straight. Trans men have the right to be proud of ways in which they both conform to masculine gendered norms and their gender-nonconformity.
Trans cuspers, or trans people who identify their opposite gender attraction as being gay, hurt no one and have their own reasons for doing so.
TERFs (trans exclusionary radical feminists) comprise a violent hate group. TERFs do weaponize radical feminism to harm trans men in unique ways, but the primary target of TERFs is always trans women, and they pose the biggest threat towards trans women. TERFs are also capable of weaponizing radical feminism against both cis women and cis men (especially when they are people of color, intersex, lower class, or have a history with trauma). While it’s okay for all groups to talk about our experiences with TERFs we should never forget that their main goal is to push trans women out of safe spaces and out of the society.
Trans men are always men and trans women are always women in every situation.
We will never experience complete trans liberation while capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy thrive.

I mean, all the rest of those could mean anything, but he/they is more specific, I think (although I did think it was quite polite that the author put in the effort to gender Batman’s son correctly, despite clearly having a problem with he/they pronouns!) but I will tell you what I think their pronouns are*
Dick: he/him by preference, but uses they in order to make his students feel safer and more welcome, and has a he/they pin. does not actually feel strong attachment to gender and doesn’t identify as anything, but also has no particular desire to not identify as a man. strongly believes that if people assumed he was a woman and referred to him that way, then she would just be a woman and she still wouldn’t care. might count
Jason: he/they because he actually identifies with them, though his feelings on gender are nebulous and he doesn’t want to explain them. counts
Tim: he/him exclusively because all other pronouns give him severe dysphoria. sensitive on the issue because he’s a trans dude. does not count
Cass: she/her just because it’s hard enough learning languages without doing atypical things that are hard to practice, and trip up even native speakers. otherwise she might switch it up a little. comfortable being referred to as agender or genderless, also comfortable being referred to as genders that are partly women or somewhere on the feminine end. might count, if she gets to a point where she’s more comfortable switching pronouns
Duke: active he/they user, but only politically. strongly identifies as a boy, but doesn’t think that should stop them from using whatever pronouns they want. they make this very clear and actually default to they on most platforms (although prefers he with family). counts
Damian: he/him exclusively, for the same reasons as Duke. he’s genderfluid (girl, boy, and many nonbinary genders, especially xenogenders) but pissed off that people insist he’s required to use they because of it. doesn’t count
Carrie: she/they, but leaning towards them. only uses the label nonbinary and doesn’t want any more specific labels. they actually must be nonbinary if Steph is the first/only girl Robin, so this is technically canon. doesn’t count
Terry: doesn’t care about pronouns because that’s not super important in his social space. typically has he or they applied to him. fine with other pronouns as well. identifies as a boy but doesn’t care that much. would probably pick up a he/they label if transported to now, so I say they count.
Babs: he/she/they. typically only uses he in queer spaces where people are already comfortable navigating the boundaries of gender. identifies as a lesbian more than with any particular gender. might count
*only for people who are comfortable being referred to as Batman’s son! for example, Helena Kyle is only okay being referred to as Batman’s daughter, even though he uses masculine pronouns sometimes! likewise, even though Kate is a he/they user and comfortable with masculine terminology, they obviously are not Batman’s kid! Harley, on the other hand, absolutely is okay with that, Bruce is the one with the problem there

Hey I'm doing a short story for class about an autistic girl who discovers she have telekinesis and I want to knows how to portray her properly and how beint autustic affect her powets with makint autism sounds baf
Hi anon! I’m very sorry if I’m answering this too late for you; I barely had time to even look at my inbox in October and November, and then when I got time to do so this month, I got overwhelmed by the backlog. Nonetheless, I’ll answer this and hope that even if it’s too late for your original purpose, something in it will help you (/help anyone else who reads this) :]
AUTISM, SUPERPOWERS & FAIR REPRESENTATION
Okay, so, the basic answer to “how not to make autism sound bad” is approach the story with compassion and/or empathy – but that’s a very broad answer and probably not overly helpful for specifics. I’ll start with the “how to represent autism well” part and then break down the superpower-specific stuff from there.
1) Autism should be an integral part of your characters’ personhood, but not their entire personality
As an autistic, I struggle to define where my autism ends and my personhood (i.e., my sense of the “self”) begins, because they’re so deeply entwined with one another.  Autism is a condition that alters how I think and interact with the world, and therefore profoundly impacts how I perceive both myself and the things around me. That doesn’t mean, however, that my only personality trait is autism. It all gets very convoluted and existential – would I still be ‘me’ if you removed autism? What is ‘me’? Is it even fair to think of autism as a separate Thing? – but it is worth considering if you want to get inside your autistic character’s head.
A trap that allistic creators tend to fall into is “this character likes [X] / does [X] because they are autistic”. For example, I once saw someone say that their OC likes blue because it’s a calming colour and therefore sensory-safe. This is a valid process on its own: I also like pale blue (+ other pastel shades) because it’s a sensory-safe colour! But where many allistics fall down is in not considering that an autistic character’s likes, dislikes and hobbies don’t have to relate to their autism.
Although the show has its flaws, I do think that Sam Gardener from Netflix’s Atypical is a positive example of an autistic character just liking something because they like it. His special interest is all to do with penguins and antartic wildlife/explorations, and he also enjoys art as a hobby because... he just does. That’s not to say these things don’t intersect – he takes a scientific illustration class in college precisely because it combines two things he likes; it’s also fair to say that autism gives him an edge in drawing because autism brain is excellent at grasping theory/technicalities. But ultimately it’s nice to have an autistic character whose interests and personality traits go beyond the stereotypical special interest.
For more on representing autistic characters, check out [this post] where I go into a bit more depth. (NOTE: that post is on my list of things that I want to revise/rewrite/flesh out, so it might change soon, but the basic stuff is still the same).
2) Autism isn’t inherently “bad” – but that doesn’t mean it’s without issues, either
Autism is not the devastating tragedy that neurotypicals like to present, but it does come with its own difficulties and pitfalls that you should acknowledge if you want to write a well-rounded autistic character. There’s often discourse/debates on my dash about whether it’s fair to call autism a disability. I’d say it is – there are definitely aspects of autism that are disabling, i.e., sensory overload, burnout, trouble communicating, etc. – but it isn’t a disability in the way that allistics/abled people think.
Some aspects of autism are “double edged”, in that they have useful and troublesome sides. Speaking for myself, hyper-empathy means that I’m good at grasping why emotions Do The Thing, which is incredibly useful in filling in gaps in my social sense! But. It also means that I struggle to draw a line between my own emotions and someone else’s, and am simply awful at creating healthy emotional boundaries. As the writer, you create good representation by showing both sides. Let your character have meltdowns! Let them have trouble in social situations! Let them get burnt out or overwhelmed! But also make sure to show that this doesn’t make them inherently burdensome to other characters, and explore the good/neutral aspects of autism, too.
3) So, how would all of this impact superpowers?
A lot of that depends on your world’s magic/superpower system. Some things to consider are:
Does your character need to be concentrating?
Do emotions influence how controlled the power is?
Does the power take a physical or mental toll on the user?
etc.
These are laws you ought to think about as part of worldbuilding, regardless of a characters’ neurotype or ability, but I do believe that autism will have an impact on how a character interacts with their powers. For example, many autistic people have difficulty with fine motor skills and spatial awareness, either as part of autism or due to a co-existing condition [1]. This could theoretically cause trouble if a character needs to gauge personal space/use spatial perception when using telekinesis to direct objects. Where emotions effect a power, emotional dysregulation or rejection sensitive dysphoria could also come into play by disrupting a characters’ concentration or control.
Make sure to show your character working with or around these sorts of issues, and keep a balance between the pros and cons. If sensory input throws off her concentration, what are ways she can get around that? Earplugs for noise, dark glasses for light sensitivity, seamless clothes, headphones... etc etc. On the more negative side, I can only imagine the chaos I might cause during a meltdown if I had telekinesis: objects flying everywhere, lightbulbs bursting, general pandemonium. That said, telekinesis would be great if I could levitate myself and just hang there without any sensory input. Also useful if I needed to get stuff and didn’t have the energy to move because of burnout, or if I could use telekinesis to “weigh down” a blanket on top of me during meltdowns. There are some really fun possibilities here!
Another way to avoid showing autism as a burden/something bad is to give your character a support network and/or accommodations in the story. Have your character find ways to work around issues just like a neurotypical person would, yes, but also have other characters be understanding and ready to help. Thriving support systems are just as important as the autistic character themself.
Basically, address the fact that some aspects of autism are difficult to cope with/require aid but don't overtly focus on that, you know? Your character can get upset, frustrated, or be resigned. She can beat herself up! All autistic people live with this feeling of "not good enough". But show her overcoming this, show her with a good support system, and show her being a person as complex and developed as any other character.
FOOTNOTE(S)
[1] general practise in diagnostic circles is to avoid diagnosing with things like dyspraxia if another developmental disorder is present (i.e., autism), but we’re still learning about what the big ice-cream bar of autism actually covers. What traits an autistic person has can vary hugely from one person to another.

mytranshealth is literally a site with a team that works with actual doctors who have studied about, worked with, and treated trans people for years. trusting a system that even ADMITS to being behind on lgbt related health as a whole over people who have been doing research and treatment for years kinda further proves the point as to why you are wrong. added to that, none of y'all have proof of detransitioned people on tumblr, not that they don't exist, but where is the proof?
1) mytranshealth.com. COM. com as an ending means it is not a legitimate organization and cannot be used for research on various topics
2) please consider the following:
Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues. APA Web. 2015.
In a diverse, varied society like this one, it can often be difficult to discern what is real and what isn’t; especially among adolescents, the struggle to challenge ‘the norm’ while also fitting in with one’s peers can lead to behaviors that adults may not understand. Adolescence is a time of turbulent change for anyone, but for transgender young people, it is perhaps doubly so. To provide a brief definition, the American Psychological Association states that gender dysphoria is “a conflict between a person’s physical or assigned gender and the [one] with which he, she, or they identify” (APA). Gender dysphoria ranges from minor to severe; symptoms include long-lasting anxiety and depression, distress regarding one’s sex characteristics, and a strong desire to live as a gender besides what is assigned. Much lesser known are nonbinary people, or those who experience an atypical kind of dysphoria that causes them distress when treated as male or as female; they are neither, and make up possibly a third of the transgender population - while less than five percent of the overall population is transgender (Webb).
Scientific explanations like these have helped to ease societal confusion and thus bring more understanding to what transgender people experience. Even so, a large portion of society remains stubbornly opposed, believing that transgender people do not deserve to be treated as their mental, self-identified gender. However, an Internet community known as ‘MOGAI’ or ‘marginalized orientations, .genders, and identities’ has begun to reignite the public’s confusion about transgender issues; MOGAI believe that gender dysphoria is not necessary to be transgender, that personality traits equal genders, and that transgenderism should not be listed as a result of a mental condition. To highlight the inaccuracy of what MOGAI believe are genders, an example from their community is: “hircinic: a gender that feels both human and nonhuman with an underlying tone of power and otherworldly energy” (mogai-watch). This community shows us the other side of transphobia: promotion of rhetoric that could ultimately lead to transition therapies no longer being covered by insurance. Life-saving treatments would be listed as cosmetic, and transgender young people would struggle even more to live as their authentic selves, stunting their emotional development and ruining their mental health.
The Microsystem: Home
Transgender children and adolescents still living with their parents are the first to suffer from MOGAI misinformation. As blog posts, articles, and online quizzes are so readily available, even parents most unfamiliar with social media have at least once been exposed to mentions of transgender issues. In an ideal home, when a child attempts to come out as transgender male or female, their parents or guardians understand that the child’s gender is due to their dysphoria; they are aware that the child needs to ‘transition’ (gradually change their characteristics and traits to those of their self-identified gender) in order to alleviate their distress. In an intolerant home, the child would not be accepted; common outcomes of parental rejection include homelessness, heightened anxiety and depression, and at worst, suicide – over half of transgender youth will have attempted suicide by their twentieth birthday (Marsh, 2011). However, most parents only are aware of strictly binary male and female transgender people, regardless of their feelings toward these people. When a child attempts to come out as nonbinary, parents frequently confuse MOGAI ‘genders’ with the child’s legitimate atypical dysphoria.
Exosystem: The Internet
Not only parents are gathering dysphoria-related misinformation from online communities, so are adolescents. MOGAI ideologies have permeated the information that reaches our adolescents’ homes, or microsystems.  When one searches for ‘nonbinary’ on social media sites like Tumblr, the results are overrun with false MOGAI genders such as hircinic. Formal studies have not yet been published detailing the effects of common transphobia and MOGAI transphobia on specifically nonbinary youth. Regardless, an overwhelming majority of nonbinary social media users describe their parents confusing their real identities with MOGAI identities; this suggests that the Internet, which acts as an exosystem, has a direct and detrimental effect on the home, or the microsystem.
It is important to clarify that youth who ascribe to MOGAI beliefs are not at fault; rather, adolescence is a time of defying social norms while simultaneously seeking like-minded peers. For adolescents struggling to define their gender, the MOGAI community holds a strange allure: they can be as unique as they want to be, even going so far as transitioning while not experiencing gender dysphoria. Yet despite their uniqueness, they can still feel solidarity with young people in similar situations. The MOGAI community also touts a sense of rebelliousness and rejection of the current political climate; what with so many adolescents speaking out against the openly transphobic Trump administration, they seem to fear the idea that MOGAI is in any way transphobic. The Internet is driving the MOGAI issue forward, confusing parents and adolescents alike; if the exosystem and microsystem are so closely linked, do the iterations of the problem in both systems share a solution?
The Solution: Education and Science
The answer is yes: educating MOGAI adolescents and misinformed parents is critical to ensuring the well-being of transgender youth. Social media users who support the medicalization of gender dysphoria have already begun attempts to prove that MOGAI ideologies harm the transgender community, but frequently resort to insulting or shaming their opponents. Both sides are rife with name-calling, strawman arguments, and unnecessary hatred toward ignorant but not malevolent teenagers.
Many adolescents in the MOGAI community believe that being cisgender is oppressive, thus that they will not be accepted if they are simply cisgender and non-conforming. Already suffering from confusion about their identities – and likely bullying for cross-dressing or other non-conforming behaviors – they fear further rejection by their peers.
As teens are overwhelmingly more apt to listen to peer, more adolescents must learn for themselves why MOGAI ideologies are harmful; they must then share what they have learned and refrain from engaging in Internet discourse battles with those who do not agree. Difficult as it is for adolescents to take the ‘moral high ground’, coping methods must also be learned; the first step to avoiding a heated argument is to stay calm and focus on the facts. In the case of an online argument, one of the most effective things a person can do is simply blocking the offensive user. When ‘trolls’ no longer have a platform to send inflammatory comments, arguments tend to ceae.
While adolescents are more intelligent and more resourceful than often thought, both coping strategies and facts cannot come only from teen Internet communities. Instead, information from healthcare professionals – and even parents of transgender children – is needed. With more and more adults skilled in social media, opportunities are arising for them to become involved in issues like the two sides of transphobia. Explanations that acknowledge atypical gender dysphoria while at the same time separating nonbinary identities from MOGAI may have higher success than explanations that don’t. Any explanation mentioning gender as a choice or glossing over the importance of dysphoria should be avoided; some adolescents take offense to these and ignore the information, while some believe the information as fact.
MOGAI is an unfortunate issue that cannot be solved with one seminar, article, blog post, or study; as well as professionals and youth working together, time is a key ingredient. In the end, teens’ MOGAI phase is often just that: a phase. Those who have moved on from believing these ideologies are in a unique position to share their experience with younger, less educated teens; not only can doing so lessen online controversy, but can provide parents with the facts that they need to take comfort among the confusion.
