newt thoughts: this is a Best Science competition and i have to Win
#unscientific aside#newmann#pacific rim#thinking about them again today#it's very easy to read hermann's animosity during the movie as him being pissed off at newt for his 'completely crazy'#theories getting attention + being a massive nuisance in general#that's exactly what it looks like if you just listen to WHAT he's saying#however if you pay attention to WHEN he says it & pay attention to his face when no one is looking it's very clear there's more going on im#like the kaiju entrails comment. newt has all these tables with guts set up right next to the line & has clearly been working there for age#theres a big pile of intestinal-looking tubes over on hermann's side of the floor already! not a peep from hermann!#but then when newt tries to join the conversation he happens to throw another little squidgy bit & suddenly hermann jumps on him about it#brings up in front of the marshall how CONSTANT this unprofessional conduct is while also cutting newt off#he physically puts himself between newt & pentecost#interrupts newt every time he tries to talk#starts making snarky little personal comments AT newt to discourage him - 'don't embarrass yourself' 'yes [just get to the point]'#'this is the point where he goes completely crazy' [significant look at newt]#keeps hovering in the background looking between newt & pentecost#like. ok he is SO MAD that newt is getting pentecost's attention here. obviously#the thing that does it for me though is how sad and resigned he looks when newt finally does get to the point#this is not the face of an angry rival#this is the face of a man with ulterior motives for his animosity#i dont think newt has any ulterior motives hes aware of lol he thinks hes in a movie about 2 geniuses vying for scientific superiority#happens to be in love with hermann but hasnt realized because hes so mad at him all the time#he only realizes how much hermann cares when he offers to drift with him

My journey to pulling a Ciel acrylic charm from a Harajuku gacha machine was as long as it was humbling 💀
I had better luck on the wind-up toy keychain machine at Gashapon no Depato Ikebukuro (got The Boy on the second try) and also bought little surly schoolboy Ciel separately from a collectibles shop in Nakano Broadway (he was like $15 though)
and here's a close-up on the elusive pull
#it would be one thing if I’d even been able to stand in front of the gacha machine#you know. upright like nature intended#unfortunately the machine was level with the floor so I was forced to squat before it every time#ensuring that I was a road block to others and stood out in the room#what helps less is that I hadn't brought an empty bag with me that day and only had pockets#so every three spins I had to go unpack the capsules and then recycle them in the capsule return#and each has a bit of tricky tape on it you must remove first#so that clocked me another few minutes of struggle before I was back to squatting on the floor again#and every time I returned to the coin machine for more change I had to convince myself it wasn’t a walk of shame#anyway. I eventually got the boy#I did one more spin after in an attempt to get Violet. got Bluewer#and then realized that if I got a fifth Bluewer or Greener or Sebastard I’d have no choice but to evaluate my life then and there#so after roughly $25 poured into that single machine I walked away#but now I can't find anyone selling these online#so on the one hand will I ever get Violet to complete my set?#but on the other should I sell my extras for big money since I have no competition...#I don't need FOUR SEBASTIANS GREENHILLS AND BLUEWERS#even owning so many is MILDLY HUMILIATING

How are you adjusting to the whole Norse mythology situation?
LEO: I’ve mostly been bugging some of the older einherjar, and Hunding, a little bit, to figure this place out. Do you know how cool it is that some people have been here since the industrial revolution?? There's no way that I'm the first of my dad's kids to make it here. how are we doing this fine friday evening
#mellipost#left work to go get my medical supplies that they love to leave at a collection point much further away than I request#managed to get both boxes home am tired and hungry#enter our building where renovations are ongoing so I already know there won't be any water until march and most things are sealed off#enter my apartment#carefully set my medical packages down ONLY in my wardrobe since floor is always covered in building dust and debris#turn around#plastic tube running from completely sealed in bathroom to closed living room towards the balcony#sealed in bathroom has a giant warning sign with ASBESTOS WARNING#FML immediately leave apartment to call my landlady to see if I'm like safe or whatever#she calls the responsible people and quickly (thank god) gets back to me saying I should be safe and don't touch any equipment#equipment piled up in front of my bedroom but it's not her fault#torn between being angry at whomever left a red bull can on my floor and being relieved that at least the construction people have felt saf#enough to consume something in here I guess#I kind of wanted to start up streaming again this weekend but friends buddies fellow residents of this planet idk if I have it in me#gonna check out wikipedia to see how soon I should expect symptoms in case asbestos turns out to be real and present l m a o#after ordering food#not thrilled about eating in here if I'm gonna be real with you but I'm too tired to go out

It's really nice having a free housekeeping service thru my Medicaid but ever since my regular housekeeper that I had for a year (now friend) got promoted in March it's like every other person I've had fuckin hates disabled people
#there was one perso who would drive by my house to clock in (your location has to show that you're at the client's house) and leave#found out when i called and was like hey why has no one been showing up and the office was like it shows shes been clocking in there what??#apparently i wasn't the only one and she got fired#and then we had a woman who treated my shift like it was her break time#i mean she would sit at our table and eat a full meal and talk on the phone as loud as possible instead of cleaning#she'd clean for 20 minutes usually just dishes then spend the rest of the time eating or playing on her phone or on a phone call#she would put away WET TOWELS i mean they were more than just 'damp'#and once left a full unflushed shit in our toilet with shit stains on the toilet seat#i remember once she sat outside in our front yard on a phone call and when i went out there to ask what was going on#she was just like ''im on the phone'' and ignored me#i asked for her not to come back several times and they sent her 2 or 3 more times#and then i got a new lady who just straight up lies to my face#i give her a list of what i need done for the day and she will only do the dishes#then sit at our table and be like ''oh i got everything else done I'm just waiting on laundry''#and then I'd look to see that actually nothing else was done at all counters dirty floors dirty LAUNDRY NOT DONE#i confronted her last time#i was like ''hey I've asked for the bathroom to get done the past few times now and it hasn't been''#and she was like ''yes I did clean it'' so i wiped my hand across the sink and showed her the dust and grime stuck to my fingers#and then didn't clean it again that day. and said sat at the table saying she was waiting on laundry. and no laundry was done#and said she swept the living room which absolutely was not swept#bc I'd get out the vacuum and she'd be like ''oh i can just use the broom'' (on the carpet??)#I'd get the bathroom cleaning supplies out and she'd just put them away#and i dont mean that im being super picky about wanting things cleaned prefectly#or thaf she's ''not doing it right''#she's literally not doing it at all#i told my friend/ex housekeeper about this and she told me that every other person who's had her also asked for her not to come back#oop she's here. it's gonna be her last time i called the office and set it in stone this morning that she wont be coming back#.bdo

I have not forgotten the quilt while I’ve been making fall and Halloween themed stuff! One more set of star points to sew and I’ll be ready to start sewing the rows together
