Hey guys! I'm putting out a call for my commissions again for two big reasons: One, Emergencies have caused me to be low on funds when I wasn't expecting it, and that kind of sucks actually. Two, I have a project that I've been dreaming about for years but have actually been able to start working towards in the last couple of months, but to finish it I need to not be living paycheck to paycheck for like a month at the very least, which brings me back to point one :(. I am in the process of editing and revising my first Youtube video! This has been an on and off dream of mine for like 7 years at this point, but I've finally taken the plunge and gotten to work on a channel. I wanna talk about all sorts of fandoms (including the riordanverse ofc) With videos ranging from plot and character analysis, to trends in fandom culture in general, to fun little ranking videos and speedpaints. All around, I just want the channel to be a fandom hive, where everyone can find something they enjoy.

I already have PNG's created of my sona to use as assets (And I have a sparkly new sona, the one in the pic above!) and I have two finished scripts, with the first one being fully recorded as well! One for my first video, which will be a retrospective on Gravity Falls, and one for a video about the Percy Jackson TV show, the inherent differences between TV and books as mediums, how I think the TV show could improve, and the things I think it got perfectly. I also have a bunch more ideas, such as:

BIG Trials of Apollo video essay, with a focus on how the books and the fandom have effected me over the years.

Ranking all of my favorite characters from all of the media I've been a fan of over the years (This would be over 70 characters)

Explaining the Iliad, but make it funny (with a side of Troy apologia)

Reading Lore Olympus and pointing out how it deviates from myth (the things I'm willing to do for you people /j)

Canon vs. Fanon, where I compare a characters canon characterization with their fanon counterpart and try to figure out how things turned out the way they did.

And more, but I don't want this post to be 5000 words long.

Now here's the big question. As I said in the part above, I'm struggling a bit now money-wise. And I really wanna make this project work, but there's also, you know. Tuition. Rent. Food. Stupid other adult stuff. So if anyone is amenable (and this is totally up to demand, I don't wanna pressure anyone into doing anything!) I was also thinking of maybe making a Patreon. Now, I'd have to do research for this, bc I wanna make sure anyone who signed up would get the right rewards and really get the bang for their buck. I'm pretty sure there's not gonna be much interest in this rn, cuz like, I'm not that big of a blog oof. But if anyone is interested! Here are some of the perks I would definitely be implementing! This ones a bit complicated, but I want to create a cover of a song that has to do with each video to play during their outros. So like, for the gravity falls video, I'm gonna record a quick cover of the Disco Girl song from the show. Only a small section of the song would be in each video, but patrons would get access to the full covers, and be able to request songs to be covered.

Discounts on commissions

A monthly speedpaint that would be exclusive to patreon. Patrons would be able to vote on what the drawing would be.

All of these ideas I'm 100% sure I want to add to a patreon if I make one, but obv there could be more that comes up later. I'm just gauging interest on this idea rn, so let me know if that's something you'd be down to sign up for! Maybe I'm jumping the gun here but I'm just really excited to create and give back to the community and aaahhhhh

Now, no matter what, I'm gonna have this first video out by mid-September at the latest. Because stupid money troubles are not gonna stop me from making this a thing dangit. So look out for that, I'll link the vid here when it releases! But I am just really stressed rn and any support would go a long way towards making this dream come true. And on that note, one more sappy real talk if I am allowed it?

My blog is about to reach 5 years old, and I've never seen a group of people so accepting and creative and just fun to be around. You guys have truly changed my life, and I wouldn't have the courage to try for this if I didn't have the support you've given me. I know this is super dramatic for just trying to make a youtube channel, but making a place where I could just talk about all the nerdy and overly specific things I care about and share them with the world is something I've wanted for my whole life. But hey, I'm happy if my little drawings makes people happy or help ! Imo twst can be enjoyed any way you want wether it's as a game you get invested into with the cards and stuff or just vibe w/ the fandom and appreciate the characters and stories through maybe fics or art or anything ! No need to even play the game.

Though the game does have aspects I appreciate like the guest room or judt being able to have your guys on the main screen and poke them non-stop, sometimes it also reminds me that "oh right this character is like that I kinda forgot" or just appreciate their seiyuus. (I try to guess who says "twisted wonderland" whenever Iopen the game and fail miserably necause I play 90% of the time w/ no sound :))))

+ When you look at it you see how much effort was put into the game and that it is loved, I'm honestly loving the lineless backgrounds !! + the costumes for event cards are always detailed, there was research put into the harveston or masquerade outfits !! (And the others as well tbh) + the soundtrack !!! Idia's dorm theme my beloved, I should really start chapter 6.....

(Though I get the infodump part, I have nobody I know irl playing the game so from time to time I do infodump on a friend (sorry 🙏))

Fields of Mistria is SUPER fun, since there's not much to do in it after you've completed the first year right now, I've dedicated myself to breeding and collecting all the seasonal variants of horses so I can name them after the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!

I also named all my barns after metamorphised lovers in greek myth because I have exactly one thought running through my head at any given point in time (Currently there's Crocus Coop where I keep my (gorgeous wonderful lovely adorable ouugh I LOVE THEMMM!!) blue chickens

Cypress Barn where I keep my wonderful cows (who have been with me the longest and whom I cherish immensely! I'm not sure if Autumn cows are possible but I'm definitely aiming for a barn of all red and autumnal cows for obvious reasons)

Minthe Barn where I keep all of my other large animals like sheep, alpacas and my very first beloved Chiron (black and white) and Iris (brown with spots) (the foal is Rigel) 🥺

And Hyacinthus Barn where I have a collection of small animals like rabbits, capybaras and my PRIZED DUCKS LEDA (the pretty blue and green duckie) AND CYCNUS (the pure white duck meant to mimic a swan!!) Even though it's technically a coop, I mistakenly labelled it a barn when I was inputting the name and I never changed it LOL

My farm is also named after THE metamorphosized lover, Daphne herself, so it's called Laurel Farm

And I'm planning for my Seasonal Horse barn to be named after the poplar since I quite like Leuke's story and I think she's fitting of housing the horses that will be the steeds of War, Pestilence, Conquest and Famine :)

Bonus: My house is still small and eclectically decorated, but keeping in theme with my farm, I do hope to go for a flower/garden theme

The green-haired oaf sitting across the table grimaced, swallowing, and if Sanji didn’t know any better he could have sworn the guy blushed. Usopp gave him a thumbs up. Zoro rolled his eyes. “Sure, cook.” Tacky. But it would do. “Lead the way.” . Vivi, a seasoned dungeon master, decided to start a pirate-themed DND podcast called 'One Piece'. Sanji easily agreed to join, along with Vivi's new girlfriend and her friends. Unfortunately for him, that included a rather attractive green-haired kendo champion. In the game, Sanji's attempts to seduce NPCs were becoming ever-futile. With such horrible luck, he jokingly quipped that it wouldn't even matter if he tried to seduce Zoro. Naturally, he managed to roll a nat 20, kicking off his and Zoro's turbulent in game relationship. Too bad real life wasn't nearly that simple.

the player, diluc thinks, is an incredibly endearing being.

he's come a long way from the curt and wary attitude he used to put on around the traveler (and by extension, you), and today is one of those days where he finds himself privately thanking whatever powers there may be that allowed your paths to cross, with him staring at the reflection of you hidden deep within the traveler's eyes in the wake of his fight with the abyss that fateful night in mondstadt.

as one of the first people to have their constellations manifest in the sky of teyvat, diluc is more than aware that the fact that you still choose to ask for his company in your (or, well, the traveler's) journey is a gift he must treasure deeply. he knows that it is your presence in this world that gives vision bearers a chance to become something greater than they presently are. he also knows that he is no longer as impressive of a companion in battle as he used to be from back when the sky wasn't as bright as it is now (when the world you knew was smaller and he was still a figure that you could look to and proudly call "your main").

but you always come back to him. when he least expects it, you invite him back to your party and diluc can't help but privately think, privately wish, that it's because you're as fond of him as he is of you.

standing in silent prayer while you bestow upon him artifacts that thrum with divine power is an experience he can never tire of. the claymores you give him, the food he eats, all the materials he needs to reach a breakthrough in his capabilities... he understands that you aren't teyvat's creator, but this world and everything in it seems to exist just for you. you, the provider, the sustainer, the beloved of all. sometimes, diluc feels that everything he has and ever worked for have all been for the sake of one day meeting you.

he's not a religious man by principle, and he loathes people of absolute power. the only exception to this, however, is you. he's not foolish enough to believe you're some omnipotent, omniscient being that lords above all. no, you're not like that. he knows this because the longer he journeys with the traveler and feels their bond strengthen, the faint whispers he used to strain himself to hear grow clearer and clearer until finally, one day, he hears you.

you're both nothing and everything he thought you'd be. you view the world of teyvat with so much awe and joy that it's infectious, and he finds himself smiling more often than not to the privilege of finally hearing you. the traveler always looks at him with an understanding smile when diluc slows down in their travels to listen to you. he lives for the moments when you talk to yourself or to someone else (a companion of your own, maybe? from your place beyond the stars?) because this is how he learns. your favorite food, your favorite nations, your favorite "characters" and more. he holds every morsel of information you unknowingly give close to his chest where all his affections and wishes hide. he likes to think that this way, he can be closer and better for you.

but he knows he's not the only one who hears you, and it is the traveler that is closest to you out of all them. even so, diluc harbors no ill will to the avatar you chose to see and travel the world through. you're so fond of the traveler, and how could he ever come to loathe anything graced by your love?

he knows how to play nice. it helps that most of your other chosen are people he can find himself enjoying the company of as well. diluc understands that as much as he wants to be the sole holder of your attention, the world does not function that way. he's willing to extend an olive branch so long as they can all work together to keep you present in teyvat. he can worry about his more aggressive competition later when they aren't at risk of being caught in such an unsightly state by you — all that matters to him, right now, is how to keep your gaze on him for just a little longer and keep you from leaving him again.

it's a daunting thing to be so close to your grace. you take diluc to lands he'd never thought he'd visit again, to ruins of civilizations long past, domains with unimaginable horrors and have him run, claymore and vision burning at his hip, into fight after fight at your command. it's tiring at best and painful at worst, but you always take care to heal him and his companions before leaving, and you always lead them somewhere safe to rest until teyvat brightens and you come again.

his current companions (his "supports", he inwardly preens) rest and talk amongst themselves once they feel your presence leave. it used to be something they, your chosen, would panic over, but now that they've gotten more used to you and all the signs that pointed that yes, this is your will, they've grown to be able to tolerate the harrowing chill that comes when your warmth leaves them. diluc leans back on his chair in front of good hunter to observe them. they're all people he's come to grow fond of in time: diona was prickly, yes, but ha become pleasant to be around once they grew past their misunderstandings. the young master of the feiyun commerce guild, xingqiu, was also a reliable companion both in and outside of battle, and for all his faults, venti has proven himself to be a devout believer, unwilling to be a burden to you or the party you've guided him towards.

under normal circumstances, he never would've met and forged such strong bonds with these people. if not for your own interference, he never would've bothered getting to know any of them at all. though he may have his own gripes and complaints at times of how their dynamic works when you're not around, diluc is still fond of them. he's grateful for the opportunity to grow close to people again, and traveling the world alongside them and the traveler has become one of the few things he's begun to look forward to outside of his duties as "diluc, master of dawn winery." when the day is done and he can sit and relax with them in the tables in front of good hunter, he can rest in the company of others who understand the near-maddening pull in his chest that draws him to try and get closer, closer, to you.

it's days like these where diluc quietly thanks whatever it is brought you to them, and prays that one day, he will no longer have to search through the traveler's eyes to see you.

All of Nagi's cosmic aura moments from the Episode Nagi trailer! ⬇️

(Nagi's aura colours have always made me so curious so a few thoughts on that and the animation in general.)

1. Hakuho vs Aomori Dadada

I'm very excited to see this match animated as we can assume it's the first time he's playing in a high stakes faceoff (if we cross out that in-house volleyball game from his light novel anyway). This shot looks good to me and it's interesting that there's this dark aura around him but it's not quite as vivid as it becomes in blue lock.

2. Hakuho vs. Aomori Dadada

I have to say I like this image way better in the manga than here. Similarly to the previous frame, the aura flare in his eye here is not as vivid as the other one we see later in the trailer.

2. Blue Lock First Selection (Team V)

This shot is where the aura colours really start to pop and take on the cosmic hue that the author has mentioned in interviews. I'm excited to see if there's a certain point at which this happens.

3. Conversation with Ego before entering Blue Lock

Chronologically this happens before the previous aura moment in the trailer. This is a super important moment in the manga since it's the first time we see Nagi's skull aura and it also captures how self aware and confident he is of his abilities (or a superiority complex if you prefer). This looks quite similar to the manga panel. The blue, white, black and purple shades merging into each other make this frame very ominous since we don't quite know at this point in the story how dangerous of a player he is (unless we have watched the anime/read the main manga of course!)

4. Blue Lock First Selection Team V

Honestly, I don't like this shot at all. We can see the aura colours are strong but the aura itself could be a lot better animated and blended in. But sometimes they do put half done shots in trailers so I'll be crossing my fingers anyway (This is just a little criticism as an avid anime watcher, not like I'd be able to animate any of this stuff).

5. Blue Lock First Selection (Team V)

I think this shot is way better. The aura colours look beautiful and really bring out his eyes against all the white/light colours around them. They definitely convey the idea of an "awakening".

6. Hakuho (last shot of the trailer)

I loved that this shot ended the trailer! It looked very cool (any shot of Nagi kicking a ball is automatically very cool imo) and while this does not have the cosmic aura it does have this dark misty black around him which looks equally great I think. (I wonder if there's any truth to his aura getting darker and darker over time since his character colour is black but that's just me thinking out loud I guess.)

And that's all of them.

I know there are already very compelling theories around how the skull aura has been changing and what it means based on how Nagi's ego has been evolving/devolving over time and it might be obsessive to look super closely at the animation to find more clues. But also, this is a character who is still searching for his true ego/motivation over 250ish whole chapters of the main manga so how can you not. (Also I LOVE NAGI and it's just fun that is enough reason ok now I'm just talking to myself...I mean I'm always doing that...)

someone tell me the obsession people have with saying that women aren't punished by society for being masculine. if this was true, make-up would not have such a grip on most women. butches and other masc women would also not be treated like they are. like im sorry but society doesnt "reward" masculinty vs "punish" femininity. it just rewards people for sticking to their gender roles....

ok thought dump about clan dynamics and related things bc i need to get this down.

revenelan leads the clan mostly in regards to where the clan plans to move to next, how to keep everyone safe, spiritual/religious matters and teaching the clan's children about their heritage (though there are others who teach the little ones as well, everything from history to culture to different kills.) she also checks in with everyone to make sure things are going smoothly - enough food stored, the health of their animals companions, hunters have what they need, craftsmen supplies are stocked, etc. also as a little side-responsibility, she plays a hand in matchmaking, which sorely intimidates her (she hasn't had the opportunity to do much of this, but she fully intends defer to their clan-mother, who i will talk about at some point.)

the clan does have a treasurer who manages clan finances and essential assets (food, clothes, blankets, etc.), the halla-keepers largely take care of the halla and any other pets, while also doubling as working/recording any maintenance for the aravels. there is a head hunter who keeps their warriors trained, scouts the roads ahead, and works with the treasurer to keep food well stocked. cooking is a clan-wide responsibility but typically falls on a small group of clanspeople, though the clan keeps a shift rotation going to make sure they get a break (revie is exempt from cooking often as keeper but also bc everyone knows she can't cook well and they don't wanna waste any food lmao.) the clan-mother is the oldest member of the clan and also applies vallaslin to clan members, she's great. and ofc, they have a head healer - the healers in clan aravun are non-magical, so they rely on the (alleged) ancient healing practices which they have recorded in a book passed on from previous generations (more on this at some point lol.)

one thing that is special about clan aravun is that they have surgeons. this i need to elaborate on through clan aravun's history (current idea is that their effective healing practices aren't actually rooted in dalish history, but were passed on by an ancestor who was a former tevinter slave to a magister who operated on other slaves in his research on the human body and medical magic. the point where he escapes and joins a dalish clan is blank right now, but what he learned as the magister's assistant was eventually passed on and distorted over time into being regarded as ancient dalish practices - which is recorded in the aforementioned book which was written at some point down the line to preserve the original elf's teachings, though they aren't perfectly accurate anymore. i swear it'll all make sense once i Actually explain it in a dedicated post lol)

the clan doesn't necessarily need revie to lead them to function, moreso just to be a deciding point for their future and to keep religious/spiritual practices going & their culture alive. a lot of decisions are made as a collective, but revenelan would be the person to put her foot down if she thinks the clan needs to head a certain direction. the good reputation she's made for herself has earned her clan's respect however, so it's not as if they don't recognize her leadership. that isn't to say that many may not agree with her decisions however. the clan is, effectively, a big family, and there is sure to be dysfunction in many forms at different points.

SHAKES AROUND. More like an. AU more than anything. BUT. u know

So like i imagined that Polychamps would have to go their separate ways at some point after the TCC for academia purposes. They miss each other everyday and sometimes think about sending each other letters but never really found the time for it.

So like maybe two or more years later, Kouign-Amann decides to visit Scovillia to see how Capsaicin's been doing. To her surprise, she finds Prune Juice along the way!!!

They obviously spend a lot of time together when they see each other again. So one afternoon they decide to actually finish the trek to Scovillia

They meet the Headmaster and he tells them "oh capsaicin??? yea he's training in the arena" and that surprises both of them cuz they didn't Scovillia had a whole arena.

So they get to the arena right. AND THEY ACTUALLY FIND CAPSAICIN THERE. He looks a little different, WELL,, he looked the same but almost like he slightly aged. And he's training Scovillia's next Champion for the TCC

He doesn't notice Kouign-Amann and Prune until the next Champion points them out watching them. Usually no one is watching them except the Headmaster so the two kinda stuck out in the crowd......

Capsaicin thinks they're fucking around but looks for himself and he's like "OH FUCK MY PARTNERS FROM HIGHSCHOOL??? AND THEY'RE PRETTIER?????"

And they have a nice lil reunion and everything and. MY THOUGHTS ARE JUMBLED BUT YOU SEE ME RIGHT

I feel the need to say this based on some reblogs i've been getting on my poll

One thing i've seen alot is that people are unhappy with how marauders fans have "changed the characters"

And if you genuinely don't know what fandom and fanfic and fanart means then i really urge you to look it up. While you're at it look up the meaning of headcanon.

The purpose of the poll was to see how marauders fans consider themselves in relation to the source material (assuming they have read or watched it, which they dont have to have!!)

When people get mad about the characterisations because "IT'S NOT CANON!!" it reall hits me as pointless whining, because why waste your breathe hating something or someone when you could find stuff you like.

And honestly if you can't find it because "THE OOC ONE IS EVERYWHERE", boohoo man. Can't help when somethings popular okay? Or maybee..just mayyybee, you could fix your algorithm. just a thought.

Now one of the main differences at least I noticed in the fan culture of HP and Marauders is the queer and POC representation

As a queer POC myself i found more representation in the marauders fandom than I found in the main fandom

A lot of times when people talk about "what we've done to the characters" they are directly or indirectly talking about the queer representation and the POC characterisation characters are given.

People will whine about Sirius being queer, about Regulus being trans (if they are not whining about Regulus being included at all becuz dont get me started on that) or James skin "being too dark becuz Harry was white in the books grrr!!!"

I'm sorry (im not) but when ever I see shit like that I imagine an angry white millenial with JKR portrait on their wall and a Universal Studios wand in their hand crying because "THIS GENERATION RUINS EVERYTHING."
