Euijoo liked you. You were aware of this fact. You also liked Euijoo. Euijoo was not aware of this fact.

He was on the basketball team, and you showed up to every game just to watch him. Mesmerized by the way he moved on the court, guiding the ball to the net with ease, scoring dozens of points for his team without breaking a sweat. He was the MVP. You were his biggest fan.

Euijoo never tried to talk to you, despite your attempts to approach him. You would take your chances sometimes after games, sometimes before class, and on rare occasions, during lunch when Euijoo wasn’t in the gym shooting hoops. He was too nervous to talk to you, and even more blushy when you talked to him. His friends teased him about it, but you just found it cute.

You needed to somehow acquire it, though, which is where Nicholas came to your rescue. Another player on the basketball team and Euijoo’s best friend. He knew how much Euijoo liked you, and upon hearing of your plan, he was more than happy to assist. 

Nicholas delivered the freshly washed jersey to you the following day. It was an orangey red with white bold letters spelling BYUN across the back. You put it on immediately, getting distracted by the lingering scent of Euijoo for a second (he smelled like oranges). This particular jersey was important to Euijoo. He wore it every time he won a game, and one could tell based on the slightly faded colour of it. Whenever he switched it out with a different jersey, he would lose. It was his good luck charm. 

Now that you had it, the next phase of your plan— get Euijoo to notice you wearing your jersey— was a go.

Your hope was, after noticing that his jersey was missing and seeing you wearing the jersey, he would ask for it back. He needed it to play for practice and season finals. You were practically forcing him to talk to you, and hopefully, you could bait him into asking you out too.

But you had underestimated Euijoo’s shyness, as well as his non confrontational attitude. He saw you wearing the jersey to class, in the hallways, and at lunch. He didn’t just see, he stared. Eyes glued to your figure wherever you went.

You thought your plan was surely going successfully. He would approach you at any time and demand it back, and then you would hit him with a smooth not until you ask me out.

But… Euijoo was Euijoo. And he would not approach you.

He went to practice without the jersey, adorning another one with a much brighter orangey red colour. He played horribly, and got a few strict words about it from his coach. You watched it all happen, the missing jersey hidden under your hoodie. Euijoo spared you a few extra glances that day at practice. You only smiled at him.

The end of the season was quickly drawing near, and the most important game with it. A full month after you had pocketed Euijoo’s jersey. Still not a word about it from the boy. You knew he would have to ask you soon, though. He needed it for the game. 

Thursday morning, one day before the game, he finally stopped you at your locker.

“Have you seen my jersey, Y/n?” he asked. He almost sounded too genuine and oblivious. You were confused. He knew you had his jersey. Why would he ask like that? You rolled with it, though.

“Is this what you’re looking for?” You pulled up your sweater, revealing the jersey you wore underneath, immediately recognizable by the number 8 on it. Heat crept up Euijoo’s neck.

“I… I kinda need it for tomorrow’s game.”

“Why? You have others just like it,” you said, hoping the work you put in would lead somewhere. 

“It’s just that particular jersey is special—“

“—cause you always win games in it?” you completed for him, causing him to let out a breath of relief he didn’t know he was holding.

“Yeah. You get it. So, can I have it back?”

“Will it be okay? It smells like my perfume now,” you told him, smiling slightly as you watched him get flustered again at the thought. You really should have stopped teasing him ages ago, but he was just too cute not to. You fully intended to give it to him in the end, though. A few more minutes of seeing his cute flushed face wouldn’t hurt.

“It’ll be fine,” he promised. You nodded with a smile. Euijoo could feel his heart beating in his chest. He was so sure this was the fastest it had ever raced. No amount of adrenaline from basketball could get him this worked up. “Can I have it back now?” 

“Only if you take me on a date,” you said smoothly. Euijoo’s eyes practically bulged out, trying to process if he had heard you right.

Yamato in Episode 3:

This ep introduces Yamato's and Takeru's dynamic To Taichi and to the audience

Yamato has decent knowledge about cooking (and camping) probably from being raised as an indipendant kid

One of the things we see in this episode, is how deeply Yamato cares and worries about Takeru and Takeru's desire to not be the "little kid" of the group.

After the kids see two Monochromons, they decide to escape. When Takeru falls down due to being the smallest in the group, Yamato automatically goes to his aid but Taichi encourages him to get up.

Takeru doesn't want to be treated with the care that Yamato naturally has. Taichi doesn't care much about Takeru (the way Yamato does) and sees him like the rest of the chosen children.

They end up finding a bus and decide to stay and camp

Yamato shows how to cook fish in a camp to Taichi which shows Yamato's knowledge on the matter

The second incident with Takeru, Taichi and Yamato happens when Yamato offers to get the bones of the fish for Takeru to eat while Taichi just tells Takeru to eat it lol

These small interactions pile up slowly and become a source for Taichi's and Yamato's conflict later (and for Yamato's insecurities)

These small interactions are important because they've been setting up Yamato's insecurities to pile up since episode 3.

A third incident happens between the brothers when the kids are deciding to take turns and guard watch the others while the rest of the kids sleep.

Yamato insists that they should leave Takeru out of it. Takeru wants to play adult but Yamato doesn't let him.

The thing is, I remember some people say that Taichi is a "better big brother" which I will forever disagree with. The way I see it, Taichi doesn't care about Takeru's safety or comfort half as much as Yamato does. Understandably , because Takeru isn't his brother and Taichi never had to be seperated much from his own younger sister the way Yamato and Takeru did.

This also goes back to Taichi's and Yamato's personalities. Yamato is always pragmatic who cares about people's comfort and safety while Taichi is the risk taker.

And Takeru listens to Taichi more simply because he doesn't feel like Taichi is babying him. We have to look at all of their perspectives to understand them.

Later we finally get Yamato's and Taichi's first semi-physical argument

When Mimi complains about the cold weather at night, Taichi tries to force Gabumon to give him his fur. This act doesn't go well with Yamato, who gets mad at Taichi and pushes him away from Gabumon.

From Taichi's POV it was probably just a silly joke but Gabumon was clearly uncomfortable and Yamato is too overprotective not to interfere.

We've only had 3 episodes with these characters and Yamato had a million of incidents when he is protective of others lol.

When the kids are sleeping Yamato asks Gabumon to sleep next to Takeru (to keep Takeru warm) although he is too shy to voice it that way but Gabumon understands him.

Yamato and Taichi talk, and Yamato apologizes to Taichi eventhough I still don't think Yamato was in the wrong for defending Gabumon (maybe only that Yamato got too physical about it) and Taichi also apologizes in return.

Yamato then explains his and Takeru's situation to Taichi.

Then Yamato runs off to another place to play his harmonica for the first time.

Seadramon attacks them and Yamato gets seperated from the rest of the group which results in him swimming all the way to them. This is another example of why and how Yamato is not a coward. He simply cares about the safety of the group and isn't willing to take much risks because of it but when push comes down to shove, he isn't scared to sacrifice himself at all.

I also think Takeru's first instinct toward danger is searching for Yamato. He might seem like he listens to Taichi more, but his own brother is the one he goes to when he is afraid.

On the side note, Gomamon's been the MVP for three episodes straight. He saved the kids in the water, found the sea, saved Takeru in episode 3 and then put the island back together lol

Reminds me of that joke someone said: Gomamon is the true holder of the crest of reliability (we love Jyou and Gomamon in this house)

Yamato is not afraid to put himself in danger to save others. He jumps infront of seadramon to distract him, causing him to get captured.

Takeru starts asking Patamon and Gabumon to save him. Gabumon finally evolvs into Garuromon and saved Yamato

After the fight the kids realize that every digimon evolves in response to their partner.

Episode ends with them thanking Gabumon, and Yamato playing the harmonica while Takeru sleeps and Taichi watches them

Every single set up that we need for understanding Yamato's character, his dynamic, his relationship with both Tichi and Takeru has been set up from the beggining.

Yamato is caring, protective, brave while his ideology sometimes clashes with Taichi's recklessness and he might seem overprotective to Takeru as a result which leads up to what happens in later episodes.

I have a new bf, we've got together 6 months ago, but considering I have a relationship of 15+ years with someone else, it feels new still to me. He is not the first addition to the polycule, as I also have a girlfriend for 3+ years. The long-term partner and the girlfriend are both nesting partners, and considering the new boyfriend lives on the other side of the country by himself, I have been going there practically every other weekend for "alone time".

I have two challenges, though:

* the boyfriend is new to polyamory and struggles with not being my only partner, but tries his hardest for my sake

* the girlfriend seems to have some serious issues with jealousy and fear of being abandoned

The long-term partner has been the real MVP through this all. They have mediated between me and my girlfriend and shown their utmost support when I wanted to go away.

Meanwhile, I have been trying my hardest to make the change of my allocated time easier on my girlfriend by giving her some extra quality time in the form of dates and gaming sessions and movie nights. It never seems to be enough though.

She has been acting out every time I go away, spiralling in self-deprecating pits of despair or being overall catty and mean towards me. This has led to the new boyfriend feeling like she hates him personally and him not wanting to visit me because she's there. Moreover, it doesn't exactly sell him on the whole idea of polyamory. The long-term partner is also getting exhausted by this: they can recall having struggled when we first opened the relationship, but, as they themselves say, "they weren't this bad."

I am a little lost. Have you got any ideas on what I can do to improve this situation?

Heya,🧜! So first I'd like to summarize what's happening. You had two partners, and things were pretty good. But the addition of a third who requires special consideration has destabilized the relationship with one of them. Its an over-simplification, but in its simplest form, this is the problem.

Third thing is all these names for partners does NOT jive with my brain. So for the purposes of answering this ask, I'm going to call Long-Term Partner "Lit" (LT from long term, with a vowel to aid in pronunciation), and newest partner I'm calling Newsboy, because that's the funniest nickname based on the information I have available to me, lol. Out of fairness, girlfriend will be called Gif (GF, with a vowel added for pronunciation [except not really because of the Gif vs Jif debate]).

Consider offering them a deliberate respite of some kind from this drama. (ex: 48 of not mentioning it; relief from mediator duties; etc). In any case, continue to check in with them.

6 months is long enough he's got an idea of what's up with the poly shit with regards to what he's chill with and what's really difficult. If you aren't already, I'd probably start talking the realities of what a relationship long-term would look like. This helps him both set his expectations appropriately and negotiate any major points. I would include shit from the next section, like what you expect Gif to be doing and what you guys are trying to work on that. You don't have to include every gory detail, of course, but he should know its a WIP.

What behaviors of yours you can improve for her. With actionable steps on how you can do better. You did say you were trying to work with her, but maybe you're going about it in a way that doesn't really help, or you're missing some key component. Maybe what you're terming "cattiness" is Gif trying to drop hints and she's annoyed you don't seem to care, for instance.

These will probably be recurrent in your life for a bit. But as always, how you have the conversation matters. RTTE SEASON 5 REVIEW

I wanna say a lil something about this season since it’s the one where I left the fandom for (and mostly I watched it drunk so I legit didn’t remember shit) but so far I liked it. I thought I was gonna hate it, but apart from the OBVIOUS reasons it was kinda bad AKA Viggo being back, Krogan being a Ryker 2.0, The BIG TRAITOR REVEAL, and mostly filler season, I liked the moments in between.

I’m a firm believer that RTTE should’ve ended at the end of season 4 (yes there was some loose ends but if they wrote it like an actual finale it would’ve worked just fine) cause the last 2 seasons feel like thing were just shoehorned in, like they forced so much stuff to happen cause they had 2 spare seasons and it shows… like S4 FELT like a finale: Viggo and Ryker die, Dragon Eye destroyed, Berserkers secured, allies secured, The Edge secure, Hiccstrid established, Krogan functions just fine as a cameo and nothing else, etc etc

Again my enjoyment for RTTE comes down mostly from my love for Snotlout (he really is the best character and MVP of this show dont @ me) and the twins, Everyone was still tolerable, we got the GAYEST EPISODE TO DATE, Snotlout legit telling TB he loved him like?! Jesus 😭🙌 My hc is that after that EP, Snotlout and Fishlegs started dating cause holy shit after that they DO ACT LIKE BOYFRIENDS (legit they act like HICCSTRID before they “started dating” and even AFTER they started dating) and I love that, Hc, they became boyfriends after TB and somewhere in S6 they broke up idc idc

I like Astrid and Hiccup for the most part ngl, they were not TERRIBLE, (apart from that ONE EPISODE where they tried to gaslight me into hating them but then I used my brain to figure out it was pointless forced drama and they truly did nothing wrong), Hiccup making a second Dragon eye was… a choice…… like he’s a GENIUS don’t get me wrong, I can suspend my disbelief that he would be capable and I’m sure he did know how to make one himself, but idk another continuity error, like are u telling me now that there’s 2 Dragon Eyes and BOTH need to be obsolete by the end of this show???? Ok…

Even Stoick and his relationship with Hiccup AND ASTRID, I enjoyed that SO SO MUCH, it was really in character. Toothless as usual is a non character sadly…..

Heather and Dagur were super underutilized sadly, the more I think about it? The more I think Dagur should’ve stayed dead (AND I ADORE HIM) and Heather taken over, I DIDNT LIKE THAT HEATHER WAS NOT THERE WHEN THEY WENT TO SEE OSWALD! Like Wth Dagur and HICCUP? Fuck u for keeping it from her. It should’ve been her, literally replace any scene Dagur has w Heather and nothing will change. As much as I ADORE DAGUR AND I DO ADORE HIM, between him and Heather? Idk make them BOTH a team instead of separating them OR actually use them in a meaningful way. Cause another thing that will never not piss me off was HEATHER HAVING THE LENS AND NO ONE FUCKING NOTICING IT UNTIL NOW! Felt so HARD like a retcon and the writers wrote themselves into a corner, it feels so much like they just also forgot she had it for the first 4 seasons and decided that it was suddenly important for the plot which was so cheap imo and infuriating. (Since season 3, Heather being w the riders is not a bad thing but in S4 we barely see them still after she left, either make her super important and use her - something you HAVE for all the show actually- or don’t, cause she feels like nothing but a plot device now and not a character)

Now I know the BIG TRAITOR REVEAL was coming (I didnt watch it the first time cause I hated it) so I just wanted to actually know how they played it out and it was not AS BAD as I remember, but I was just mostly laughing at the absurdity lol when they made it so obvious by then it was so funny.

Now Viggo being alive is smth I’m still meh about, I dont love when shows do that, BUT I enjoy his character too much to be mad tbh, I have NOT WATCHED SEASON 6, like EVER, not even back then, so I have no idea what to expect with him. I am EXCITED.

Mostly this season did feel like they were resetting and rewriting so much stuff to make things make sense, and most of it was filler, which fine I could watch like 1724983 hours of the gang just doing NOTHING, so filler? Is not a bad thing for me. That’s why I liked it. It was not as bad as I remember. Some things sure were so ABSURD but funny. Made NO SENSE, but I already know a lot of it is not canon so I’m not mad anymore. I just enjoyed it for what it is.

I’m excited to FINALLY WATCH SEASON 6! I never have and honestly my refound love for RTTE has me super excited to watch it for the first time. 🙏

Second Ateez Concert (Post performance Write up)

Stream of consciousness again, and not an attempt to make a perfect record.

-That performance was so fun. I don't know why but it felt 'better' than Day 1. Seonghwa was visibly more relaxed - day 1 he was stuttering during his opening comments and admitted to being extremely tense. The group seemed much more at ease with how big this space was, and had specific plans for how they were going to address the floor fans and the nosebleed seaters. Most importantly, Hongjoong and Mingi had better teamwork in terms of Hongjoong explaining what was going to happen next (and what role Mingi was going to play) and how the audience should respond, and Mingi ran the show.

-Mingi was MVP. Now that it's the day after, I really think that Ateez's first really big stadium performance in the Home Country may have been a borderline flop without Mingi. He had maximum presence as well as this general sense of control and ease that the others just did not have, and it helped so much that they let him play a bigger role on day 2 than on day 1. He was the only one that was having a lot of fun in the big huge stadium. Second came Yunho, but he has that superpower capacity for projecting being really happy to be somewhere, happy to see you, even if he's neither, (LIKABILITY) so that's to be expected. More importantly, it was his birthday, and Mingi likes Yunho best out of everyone in that group so he made Yunho the most important. (Giver and Taker dynamics again lol). Everyone else gave beautiful and well-calibrated performances, but there wasn't this sense of I own this place so trust me and we will go somewhere cool together coming from anyone but Mingi.

It made me wonder if Hongjoong was scared of this space too, or if he was infected by Seonghwa, his partner, but I'd been expecting some sort of blast of of charisma from HJ that just didn't happen.

The thing that Mingi did that I appreciated so much was that he didn't have a "conserve energy" moment. Everyone else visibly paced themselves - like Wooyoung, San and Seunghwa were WILD and went ALL OUT during their actual set pieces, but during the in between portions they stood mostly still, gently waving at the audience in the privileged seats, and went into 급차분 (calm / serious/ subdued) mode when they had to speak, but Mingi was just hepped up the whole time and stayed that way. I really like performers who go for broke. Much respect. And again, Yunho was the only other one who kept bouncing around, doing extemporaneous dances, and inviting audience participation. There's a reason these two are a pair.

-Whoever directs this thing did a hardcore assessment overnight, and they fixed a lot of things (First and foremost was letting Mingi take over as frontman.) Sound was better. Screen related camera work felt better. None of the singers complained about their in-ear piece not working. The lighting on the main stage still sucked from the point of view of the nosebleeds, but perhaps the privileged floor seats got great atmospherics? Since I too benefit from those hyper dedicated fans' camerawork and content making, I certainly hope so. The K-Atiny next to me who seemed like a typical K-pop fan from my imagination pointed out to me that San kept touching his mike (her bias) and she was worried that he was having equipment issues. I had seen him touch the headpiece same as her and I didn't really think about that.

-I had such a good time. I still didn't bother filming much of anything, because I just wanted to watch the show they were putting on. I also know that the DVD will eventually be released, and there's a cinema experience in the works. But more than that, actions matter - if you're FILMING an experience, you're experiencing it as a photographer/ cameraman, no matter how hard you try. Other people can do that work. I went there to play.

-There was a really accomplished K-Atiny in my row who knew ALLLLL of the words to ALLLL the songs as well as ALLL of the chants that are supposed to be the fan's response. She looked like a smart little bean of a girl, but she was also EXTREMELY LOUD. I loved her so much that I turned to her in the break to thank her personally for being such a great section-mate, and I thanked her again before we left after it was over. I said it was a blessing to sit next to someone who could do the fandom thing properly. I appreciated her so much.

-San is majorly beautiful. Just. Astonishing. Oh my GOSH. It felt like being at a really big pagan fertility festival to sit at my section, which was majority Korean this time (unlike Day 1, which was majority not-Koreans) because we all lost our minds at San coming on screen. Women celebrating our being alive in the same space as this person at what has to be the peak of his masculine beauty. Receiving a blast of very pure, very delicious yang energy, to be really old fashioned about it. The mind-blank mouth-open situation happened with every costume change and every close up. Just, the HOLLERING. He's just so good at what he does. All Hail Choi San.

-Yeosang has the prettiest ass on the planet and the prettiest face ever and it was a lot to take in at once.

-Mingi showed skin while making very sexy faces & motions for when they're all at the saloon dressed as cowboys. The Equipment Conscious Atiny to my right made a comment - '미친..." - to mark the moment. Then right afterwards, Yunho, fully dressed, got on top of the saloon bar and delivered his line about 나는야 고독한 총잡이 탕탕탕탕... which is such a very cheesy lyric but he made it work and made it just as hot, and I felt like they were fighting about who was sexier and chose entirely opposing paths and came out neck and neck and it was SUCH A GOOD TIME

-Equipment Conscious K-Atiny did the typical Korean thing of never looking up from her phone while we were waiting for the show to begin, but once we began yelling together (i.e. confirming that we were the same kind of crazy) we bonded. We talked about her success in obtaining the Lightiny that I failed to get. And then we mostly just kind of shook each other's arm about San when screaming about him wasn't enough, which was extremely fun.

-It was really fun to sing Happy Birthday to Yunho. He seemed very happy to be made a big fuss over (because of course LOL). Someone in the floor seats had HER birthday according to her sign so we all sang HER a happy birthday along with Ateez. What a special day for her, too, lucky Atiny.

-I will have to review the closing comments again when those videos come up, but I found them improved from the stuff they said at their fan meetings and the previous concert. I can't tell if it's because they actually are improved or if I've become accustomed to Idol culture, and accepted its norms for how Idols are supposed to talk at the end of concerts. Because the stuff that Ateez have said? Stray Kids and NCT and Enhypen also say, almost word for word, at the end of their concerts, from the clips I've seen. I used to find these speeches unbearably horrifying, to pay to listen to this undignified begging for continued attention from an audience that's paid hundreds of dollars to be in attendance, but now I'm like, Oh that was quite correct, he's supposed to say that, and he said it well.

HongJoong couldn't help but add, as he left, "DON'T GO TO ANY OTHER IDOL GROUP CONCERTS!"

I now understand, fully, why they all say this. (It's the job of Lee Know of Stray Kids to say this at the end of their concerts, I think. I've seen him do it more than once.) It's a very Korean thing they're doing - they're acknowledging that if you're actually going to stan a group, it does take up so much time and effort and money to keep up. If you're the type to need to make output for any input you get (ahem, comme moi), and make fan accounts or run fan groups, it's a LOT of work in toto. I don't see how I could follow TWO groups. Which means if I were to take on a new group, I would perforce have to abandon this one. Sort of like how I didn't finish the process of becoming a Stay when Wooyoung took me into Ateez - I fought for Ateez tickets but not Stray Kids ones which were going on sale at almost the same time. Time and resources are limited - you want to be the one chosen. Economics!

This group of fire fighters being the best amateur detectives on TV since the Scooby Doo gang will never not be funny. Also, highly implausible, but that just makes it funnier.

"You go to hell!" "You first!" So 911 was having a western kink kinda month, and decided to set up this very likely storyline, just to be able to quote Tombstone? Hmmm.

"This one, we both walk out of." See, 911 is the show where I can roll my eyes 30 times during a storyline, but the climax moment still gets to me with its humaneness. That's the show's power. And the follow up reunion with Bobby! I had no doubt he'd live, but it was still very emotional to walk with Athena down the hospital hallway into his room and get to not only see, but also feel it.

"Bobby is the father I've never had." We know, but it was still nice to hear. "Your father's alive." Oh, Tommy. How little you understand Buck. "So maybe we both have daddy issues." "I don't." "But you think I do." "God, I hope so." lol Is this supposed to be flirting? If so, it's so off the mark for me, the dart ended up in outer space. I mean, Buck obviously has daddy issues, and I guess whoever needed that confirmed can celebrate (I'm sure there will be even more fics digging into this now), but pointing that out in the middle of a date is hardly the sexy move this ep's writer seems to think it is? IDK, I'm obviously a Buddie shipper, I like BuckTommy better than any other r/s Buck's had with a non-Eddie person, I do enjoy it as a part of Buck's journey (and I also generally believe in ship and let ship, even when something isn't my endgame), but even if I was a BuckTommy shipper, IDK that I would have liked that line. Especially when it treads a bit close to the issues I had with the BuckAbby r/s, which the show has never properly addressed. Oh, well. I'm still mostly amused that someone thought this was a great flirty line.

"He's 13, he should have a say!" To be heard? Yes. To have the final say? No. He's 13, not 18. There's a reason why at that age, we don't let kids make decisions for themselves yet. Also, the Diaz parents trying to pretend like the fact that Chris suggested him living with them for a while isn't their secret fantasy come true (or that they have no past where they hurt their son with this idea) is just crude. Also, hinting to Eddie that if he doesn't let Chris run away from his problems, then he'll be just like Ramon, is fucked up.

Also, kinda hilarious that Buck and Eddie's daddy issues are both brought up in the same ep. Sometimes being soul mates means exactly that, getting your partner perfectly because you have the same emotional baggage.

So, Chris is leaving, and the first one to talk to him on screen since the Kim debacle, and since he got the green light to go, is Buck? And Buck's also still there for the actual parting moment? Speaking of actual dads rather than bio ones...

I really liked Eddie just hugging Chris, using no words. There might not be anything he can say to fix this right now, but he still loves his son more than anything, and he can still let Christopher know that. And then when the message didn't get through, even though he's not a words person, Eddie managed to verbalize it. Don't mind me, I'll just be bawling quietly in the corner.

Buck's comforting hand on Eddie's shoulder is the real MVP. <3

I'm glad Mara's back in touch with Hen, Karen and Denny, but this feels a bit like a "deus ex machina" moment, even if it's just to wrap up the season finale, and not the final resolution of this storyline.

Bobby and Amir are actually so similar. They both lost everything, they both were at their lowest, they both chose to help others when they had nothing else left to live for. That handshake was a nice ending to their story, and it did feel more "earned" for not coming quickly or easily.

Ha, that ending. It's a good twist of events as a build up for season 8, it's just interesting because 911 doesn't usually do end of season cliff hangers. I also feel like, knowing the show, I can already predict more or less how it will turn out, so I'm not even feeling that much suspense. But it's not a bad turn of events, so long as it works for most viewers, I suppose. Overall, I enjoyed most of season 7, it feels revitalized, better paced and structured (despite being shorter) than seasons 5 and 6, and I have no doubt everyone will flock back to see how things unfold in season 8. Especially when this season was a nice reminder of everything this show can do right, and why we love these characters and fire family so much.

i'm in my marco era and by proxy my middle aged one piece man era so 🍍 is literally the most interesting thing in the world to me right now. and if you think about him for like .5 seconds too long it goes CRAZY 'cause he knows... everyone ??

the whitebeard pirates are one of the biggest crews around taking into account core crew of ~1.600, 43 allied crews, NUMEROUS territories. perospero has beef with him so he's had dealings with the big mom pirates, he's got ties to wano through oden and izou, ties to zou through nekomamushi and inuarashi, ties to fishman island through jinbei and namur and whitebeard's close friendship with king neptune.

he's obviously known shanks for a long time and they trade favors like old friends (marco saving luffy, shanks stepping in at marineford), he knew roger and rayleigh and were by all accounts on pretty friendly terms with them, we know CROCODILE has some history with whitebeard (lbr he came for pops's head and got spanked so hard he ran back to paradise), every single one of these dynamics is just loaded with history and potential for a character who's been around for so long and seen so much that he can drop into any arc and instantly become arc mvp just from how much critical support he's giving to the main players. and he's got such a weird cracked out fruit with so much potential.

after wano he's friends with at LEAST half the straw hats, luffy owes him and the rest of the WBPs a big favor for saving his ass at marineford, there's a good chance sabo ran into him on/near sphinx when he visited ace's grave, if there's any character at all that could conceivably have an interesting already established relationship to any other character, it's marco. and we don't even have his backstory yet

if i had to guess, marco's backstory is gonna be closely tied to shanks's, and oda's being so cagey about it because he actually does intend to cover it in the story at some point, otherwise he would've just offscreened it in an SBS (like zoro and kidkiller's LOL). but like jesus fucking christ there's so much story and mystery left in op i genuinely don't know how oda's gonna have the time to cover it all

(Starting off strong with three fics by the same author, lmao)

"Casting Rain", "Phantom Pains" and "A Good Ol' Fashioned Hell-Raising" all by SilverSkye13 If you can't tell, I found and proceeded to fall head over heels in love with SilverSkye13's Undertale writings. Go check out their works, they're such a good writer! Onto the fics I'm highlighting here-

Casting Rain Walks in Crumples to the ground Sobs This fic. Omfg this fic. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- An Undertale Wartime!Grillby fic, follows our favourite fire boy's experiences from towards the end of the war all the way up until just after the barrier is created, and it is SO GOOD. Gaster's also there! It's not a Grillster fic, they're just friends, but I feel like they can be read as queerplatonic/platonic life partners (I certainly do, XD). And honestly, who can blame them, because HOT DAMN THESE BOYS GO THROUGH IT. This fic is so fucking beautiful. It goes on the list of fics, a very short list, that have been able to make me cry, there are so many ups and downs to it, the characters go on so many interesting journeys (both physically and development wise), and the author's notes are also a really fun read. THERE'S ALSO CHAPTERS WITH MUSIC TO SYNC IT TO, AND LIKE?? THE SELECTION IS SO GOOD?? Seriously the music just ELEVATES the reading experience so much (personal favourite is Chapter 63, can't listen to or think about that song without the section it's meant to play in Casting Rain happening in my head, XD. A close second would be Chapter 74) It is a LOOOOOOONG fic (90 CHAPTERS, OVER 400K WORDS, HUH), took me a week to get through it, but let me tell you it's so worth it.

It is also DARK. Chapter 48 onwards it just keeps getting darker and darker (ha). Not to say that the other 47 chapters previous aren't dark, but it's ESPECIALLY there after Chapter 48. There's gore, there's violence, there's a lot of death, there's a lot of grief and really dark headspaces, there's war and it's NOT sugarcoated, so be wary! Also, don't be me and ignore the "Character Death" tag. Cause it's there for a reason. And it drop kicks you in the face. Distant wailing

Phantom Pains Best way to describe this one is; don't fuck around with a timeline cause holy shit you do NOT want to find out. Decided to save this one for later halfway through Casting Rain (since, fun fact, Casting Rain was created to expand on the Wartime!Grillby headcannons Phantom Pain touches on, although they're perfectly able to be read independently of each other), and like, oh my god I'm so glad I did?? It's so good, SO GOOD.

Like Casting Rain, this fic gets DARK. Sans isn't doing well mentally (neither is Papyrus, honestly... which, tbf, considering their situation, can't say I blame 'em, lol), and this fic doesn't sugarcoat it. So be careful! Trigger warnings for especially dark headspaces are in the top author's note at each appropriate chapter, but it's be a disservice if I didn't warn you guys about that. I will admit, Sans' characterisation might not be for everyone (listen, early day Undertale fandom, give it a break, XD), but I say it's justified in the context of the story, especially as you learn more about said context as the story goes on. And! Papyrus' characterisation is definitely quite a world's difference from the characterisations of other Paps around during that time (I say it'd be more accurate to his canon counterpart, actually!) Also, Grillby is a BAMF, absolute MVP (Sans and Paps BOTH would be so much worse off without him, XD), and has zero shits left to give. Which, if you do what I did and read Phantom Pains AFTER Casting Rain, it makes a lot of sense, lmao.

A Good Ol' Fashioned Hell-Raising WE'RE GOING TO THE WILD WEST WITH THIS ONE, FUCKERS! Grillby is a retired outlaw just trying to make an honest living in a small town, but his life gets turned upside down when his old partner (in more ways than one-), Gaster, shows up out of the blue, with trouble from their old life close at his heels. God, I love this fic SO MUCH. Also, when I had to take breaks from it for life, consistently ended up with my internal monologue having a southern drawl to it, XD.

There's a lot of violence in the one (obviously), so be wary of that!

"Nightfall" by Leletha SUCH a good fic, good LORD Hiccup gets kidnapped by Cloudjumper along with Valka as a baby and ends up being a feral dragon boy who's probably (read; definitely) platonic soulmates with Toothless. SO. GOOD. URGH The way Leletha handled dragon speech, behaviour and intelligence in this is SO GOOD and also a take I haven't ever really seen in the HTTYD fandom?? It's so animalistic but also not?? It's hard to describe and honestly best to experience yourself. ALSO THE WAY THE HUMAN CHARACTERS ARE TREATED WITH SO MUCH GRACE AND RESPECT (poor Stoick and his absolute mess and how that is handled is arguably my favourite, XD)?? Chef's kiss BEAUTIFUL! I need to reread it soon, lol. It's also part of a series! Bunch of little off-shoot stories, alongside a re-writing of both HTTYD2 and THW! I need to get around to reading those two, honestly.

This fic gets violent, and can be a mild mind bend at first in Hiccup's chapters (thanks to the way he acts and speaks and thinks, I love him, lol), but you get used to it. So be wary around the violence!

The DeBateau family Part 3/3

So I didn't start taking screenshots until recently so a lot of what is mentioned in this post below happened and I just didn't capture it.

If you are not familiar with this household, Armand was once married to Jessica Peterson but they got divorced after Armand found Jessica cheating. Being a Family sim, Armand then adopted Tara. He also has a Lifetime want to one day reach the golden anniversary with another sim.

I did not do Armand any favours when I had him fall in love with Chastity Gere who is a Romance sim 😅 I believe I was just playing with Chastity previously and had her pursue Armand. Eventually, I had Armand catch her cheating and I know that is cruel to Armand but, I wanted him to finally find the sim he is meant to spend the rest of his life with and to hopefully fulfill his Lifetime want.

For the first picture above, Armand met his soulmate, Gretchen Chin. The two have fallen in love and then got married which brings Armand one step closer to his Lifetime want. The second picture just shows Tara at their wedding and it is really the only wedding picture I got that looks good anyways because I find screenshots from the cinematics like the wedding do not look that great lol and I know the picture looks like Tara was the one that got married since her white dress resembles a wedding gown but I forgot to change her formal wear beforehand 😅

So to finish off, Armand and Gretchen live in an apartment with their cat, Heidi. The only problem I am facing now is that Armand is close to being an elder and since Gretchen has moved in now, she is at the beginning of her Adult life state. I wasn't sure how to handle this the next time I play this household because Armand has already drank some of the elixir of life and I think it is time for him to move to the next life state. The only solution that might work is if I have Gretchen drink the elixir if and when her aspiration bar is low and then that would shorten her time as an adult.

Mandatory Puppy Pile

So let's get to it.

So Depletion was the first fic of @somer-writes I can remember reading. Halfway through reading I started leaving dumbass comments and getting dumbass replies.

Depletion is about the Chain being so damn hurt and exhausted and filthy they're all ready to strangle each other. Twilight, in his sleep deprived state, drags everyone together while they're sleeping despite the fact some of them very much want to not be around anyone else right now, and waking up to find you've been moved is a bit not good.

The non-consensual puppy pile joke was born somewhere in the comments there, and eventually I had enough material to do something with it, it was also a couple of weeks after Somer's birthday and Skip (hi Skip!) had gotten us on a server together by this point. The fic summary is almost word for word the first thing I said about it in the chat.

This thing went through a lot of names, the original was Non-Consensual Puppy Pile, but it was also 'enforced', and 'compulsory' in various versions. Title change to avoid misunderstanding lol.

This one's kinda hard to breakdown because it's comedy lol. This is the funniest thing I've got published for sure. It's my second most popular by most metrics after Moon Pearls.

Four's the main narrator as I needed someone who was going to observe without getting involved in things too much and I was comfortable writing him.

Wars is the main secondary because somer ships 'em lol.

I mostly plotted this cackling to myself in my car during my commute.

The boys are jetlaggedddddddd. I couldn't use the word 'jetlag' but that's what it was.

Sky is sleeping because it's in character and cuts down the number of characters. Similar to Time faking it, the man cannot be fucked with this. He is eepy, let him rest.

Wars thinks being boring when it’s perfectly acceptable to be losing your shit is what makes you an adult. He's not entirely wrong though.

Legend tries to escape by playing fetch. There's a 'Legend tries to make fetch happen' tag no one has ever commented on but I like it.

“LEGEND TURNED INTO A RABBIT!” wails Wind.

Legend looks at himself, looks at them, runs some calculation in his head, then joins in the wailing, “TWILIGHT CAN TURN PEOPLE INTO RABBITS!” Legend immediately throwing Twi under a bus to protect his secret. The gang now believe Twilight can turn people into rabbits. This is never questioned.

Twi refusing to stop staring at Wars as he tries to take a leak and everyone giggling about it. I have no excuse.

TWILIGHT POV This was fun and is most people's fav bit. He's a good boy mmmk? He's a good provider. He loves them so much. This was the original premise. He's such a dumbass, I love you wolfbrain Twi.

He leaps on it, sinking his teeth into the back of its neck. His teeth are so bad at this today! He picks up a rock and hits it many times. So noisy! But it works! I love this line okay? The mental image, he tried to chew through the back of it's neck then bludgeoned the poor thing to death when that didn't work. The boar is screaming, the children are screaming, the tone is so casual and simplistic. lol

The puppies scream in delight.

“TWILIGHT, WHAT THE FUCK?!”

They are not eating? Ah. They are too little. He needs to break it up for them. He grabs a leg and wrenches it.

“GODDESS’ MERCY AT LEAST LET ME USE A KNIFE, TWILIGHT!”

More delighted screaming.

This is most people's favourite bit including mine. Twi brain says one thing, dialogue says another lol.

Smallest puppy takes it delicately, “Thanks, Twi. Good boy.” Four just runs with it

Four is secret MVP in a lot of my stuff including this because he has The Braincell and a bit of chill. In love the boys being friends and bouncing off each other and knowing each other. Them plotting revenge against each other constantly is part of this.

Again it's Wars with Twi for the shippin'.

Wind's “This group is a nightmare, I haaaaaaate you!” Is another Depletion joke, but it was about Legend in that.

How to end it? We go full circle, Twi wakes up and is told not to let any of them leave by Sky who missed all the drama and the reason why.

Test tube died and Fan got it all figured out (Fan’s the mvp in this ep to me), died because Toilet wants to hug him lol

Toilet was controlling MePhone X that’s cool (semi mvp btw for pulling the plug)

Paintbrush DIDN’T die, lightbulb’s out instead (extra angst yippee)

Cobs controlled MePhoneX and killed all the people in the hotel (except for some of them since they were saved by mepad, who’s another semi mvp)

Knife and Suitcase acted like they’re fighting but they were actually wasting Cob’s time so Apple(Bow) and Toilet to pull the plug

Anyways everything MePhone4 created were gone (including the contestants) so they could save the Shimmers so yeah everyone bites the dust

Surprisingly depressing ending ngl thought it would have been dramatic but this ending is a lot better than what I imagined.
