I have a really bad feeling about this, i feel like something bad will happen and this is gonna be the last time Okarun and Momo will see each other, but I really hope it's not the case.

I'm kinda worried about Okarun's team too, i know Aira and Kinta are strong, they're probably one of the strongest fighters in their group but we don't know how many people in school CSG gave powers to. Right now, Okarun doesn't have any powers, Rin and Kouki aren't much of a fighter like Aira and Kinta, so if they're going to be outnumbered without Momo who serves as their strategist during battles, I think it's gonna be hard for them. I'm kinda confident in Momo's side, I mean Jiji and Zuma are there, Vamola, although she's underestimated she's actually pretty though and most of all, Seiko is there with them.

Also, CSG asking an alien to help him out is bad news.

I’m obsessed with Zuma’s reserved nature at the moment. And in my thoughts, an interesting comparison occurred to me. Okarun seems like he would be shy and introverted, right? But from the start, we see how much Okarun livens up when he has someone to talk to. He instantly expounds his interests at Momo, and he instantly shows how incredibly spunky he is around people. He doesn’t hesitate to talk back with Momo. He’s so full of life and energy. He loves talking with people, and as we see him get more and more friends over a short amount of time, he breaks out of his shell all the more. He’s certainly not disliking being surrounded by people. Contrary to what I would think based on my own presumptions and stereotypes of what a “nerdy” character would be like, he’s actually very extroverted and outgoing. Socially awkward, yes. But he loves being around people!

Now, we take a look at Zuma, who, even though he has a pretty large amount of people who know him… his gang members and refugees… he doesn’t appear particularly close with them. He’s still very closed off, from what we can see. Obviously, this is partially due to his trauma. He’s probably afraid to get close to people after losing so much as a child. But notice how much less outgoing he is than Okarun. He doesn’t talk about his interests with people (come on, Zuma, I want to know what you like, besides geta sandals!) When someone bites Okarun, he bites back, so to speak. Okarun is spunky. He’ll yell at you if you yell at him. Zuma, however, shrugs it off. Maybe this is a result of the time he spent learning to maintain his prior anger issues and violence, but still. We see Jiji and Aira be pretty outright antagonistic to him, and he’s like “that’s fine.” He’s very mellow and calm, which adds to his reserved and introverted nature.

in the new arc it's pretty obvious that Momo, Okarun, Jiji, Aira, Vamola, Zuma, and Daiki are looking for cures for the danmanra, especially with the leaks.

meanwhile however, Kinta and Rin will stay out of the action and focus on monitoring Kouki. And we'll get more of their comedic dynamic at last

As a continuation to my post about the DanDaDan crew not liking when a new member is added to the team.

1) Aira and Jiji’s first reaction to seeing Unji Zuma was to beat his ass. Then, even after everyone calmed down and Momo explained that Unji is on their side, Aira and Jiji still didn’t trust him.

2) Kouki Yukishiro was introduced as a minor villain. After she was defeated and brought into the group, it’s revealed she’s an old rival of Aira.

The one difference here is that in my original post, it was more about Momo and Okarun not liking it when new people joined the team. For Zuma and Kouki, it’s more centered on Aira.

OKARUN

okarun is an overall awkward guy in giving you compliments. before he could say to you ‘you did a good job!’ all he could muster were stammered words as you were standing there waiting for at least a sentence to come out from his mouth. though if he was in a difficult situation where him and you are in a fifty-fifty scenario— well be ready as he will continuously say every compliment about you, how a good person you are— caring and so on and so forth, before turning himself into a gloomy version of him and decimate every enemies in your way. those aside, he is more observant than you anticipated. he would often notice small details that others miss, like ‘i like how you tied your hair today. it suits you.’ he is also a polite guy, so expect a lot of formalities from him even when you two are together.

JIJI

his words are really flattering which always catch you off guard even if he has done it to you multiple times. he also likes to be really unique with his compliments, like, ‘you’re pretty like a triple-layer cake!’ ‘what is that supposed to mean Jiji?’ ‘nothing!’. he is basically creative in complimenting that not only it could make you blush but also make you laugh. his goal is always to make you smile so his compliments are often humorous, even nonsensical but it always leave you blushing.

MOMO

her compliments are down-to-earth. she is never over-the-top praise, but when she does compliment, especially to you. she would say ‘you’re really cute in that outfit!’ or if she is flustered, she would just give you short compliments and act awkward around you for the whole day. she isn’t used to showing affection properly but her short yet sweet compliments always made your day.

ZUMA

he is more of a nonchalant side of giving a compliment tbh. a pretty chill guy. if you’re together, he’ll look at you seriously and say ‘you look beautiful today.’ despite looking like a gangster and acting like a gangster, his respect for women is on top, whenever he speaks to you it is always kind and sincere even when his face shows seriousness. after he compliments you, he’ll go right back to what he was doing like nothing happened.

Surprising thing about Dandadan is Okarun randomly pulls different girls throughout the manga, but all of their feelings for him are not very deep (you could argue Aira, but I think her feelings were kinda insta-love which is then used as mostly a gag- kinda unsrs to watch)

-Aira is already obsessed with him the next time they meet

-Vamola is obsessed with him after a random kiss (then ends up being explained it was for plot and not real romantic feelings)

-Rin- what foundation, and her whole vampire attraction moment was literally a joke 😭🖐

But Momo's relationship with Jiji then later Unji are taken much more seriously with strong foundations for why they have feelings/might be growing feelings for her, while also feeling realistic and subtle

Like I'm sorry but this was cute and we have never gotten a such a significantly intimate moment like this from Okarun with any of Momo's love rivals 🖐

Zuma got a whole arc with her to himself like??? Insane you can tell when Yukinobu locks in for the love rival plots LOL

In exchange for Momo's outward very obvious bursts of hilarious jealousy we get more complex love rivals for Okarun to battle lmao, least that's how I see it

(By "more complex" I mean in regards to them as love rivals, all the characters are equally complex as just characters)

Okarun got game but Momo got GAME GAME like they sense her baddie wife energy

Momo is a total catch like she's literally MVP for almost all the fights in Dandadan, and the only times she isn't is when she literally isn't present- so I don't blame them 😌💅✨️✨️✨️

And ofc in the end all these people's feelings for our MCs are only there to develop their romance, bc they obviously only want each other

Sidenote ppl who are like "wow a pretty girl has to be paired with a nerdy loser guy again"

Like the way he got so fucking mad a dude was degrading her right in front of him??? The way Okarun was used to being pushed around and bullied for most of his school life but he threw hands with a rando immediately with no hesitation for her sake??? She wasn't even in the room to hear it??? A MAN

DanDaDan chapter 182

It looks like the gang is getting separated again. I wish they would keep Momo and Okarun together for longer. They haven’t had a chance to have any romantic alone time since their escape from Danmara. I feel like I’ve forgotten what I love about their relationship. They had so many cute moments early on. I want to see more of that. I don’t feel like the suspense is building my interest in their relationship like it should be. So… yeah, it’s a shame that they’re going their separate ways again for this arc.

On a similar note, is Zuma going with Momo again? I would really like for him to spend some time with Okarun. I feel like they could be really good friends. Zuma could be like a big brother to him, even though they’re the same age. I hope to see some bonding moments with them.

At least it looks like Zuma will get to spend some time with Jiji. I know people have been shipping them for a bit, even though they hadn’t interacted yet. It makes sense. They’re both big muscular guys, but their personalities couldn’t be more different. I’m excited to see how the serious Zuma will react to Jiji’s goofball antics. Once Jiji stops hating him, I’m sure we’ll see him act like his real self around him.

I like how Zuma seems as though he’s reciprocating Jiji and Aira’s distrust of him, when in actuality, he really isn’t holding anything against them. He just has resting bitch face. xD

It warms my heart to see them eating together as their group grows! Okarun started off all alone, but now he’s surrounded by friends. I really hope we get to see Zuma and Kouki joining them in the upcoming chapters!
