In honor of Lady Leech, I've decided to make this post. It's semi-joking so don't take it too seriously but also some of these parents suuuuck!

Heartslabyul

Rosehearts parents: Mrs. Rosehearts is honestly a CPS case. Denying her son food, yelling at him for falling asleep, the absolute insanity that is her entire treatment of Riddle. Mr. Rosehearts isn't innocent either – he enables the abuse, is overall an absent parent, and the only time Riddle seems to see him is when he's fighting with his wife. Please just get a divorce. -10/10 awful parents.

Trappola parents: Allegedly, Mrs. Trappola once made Mr. Trappola's ass disappear during a magic trick. It's been missing ever since and she refuses to reveal how she did it. Allegedly. 8/10 it was funny but look how Ace turned out.

Dila Spade: Honestly? One of the few parents who legitimately did nothing wrong. She did her best, she's super supportive, love her. Mama Spade, you have everyone's hearts! 100/10 best mom.

Clover parents: The parentification of their oldest son was more damaging than they realized. They also didn't get Trey therapy after the Mrs. Rosehearts incident. And let's not forget them basically pushing their bakery onto Trey before he got his magic. 6/10 could be worse but could be better.

Diamond parents: I mean, Mr. Diamond is pretty absent from the sound of it. Mrs. Diamond probably tried her best? Sometimes? But she was involved with Cater's trauma with sweets and never told her daughters off for what they put Cater through. 4/10 do better.

Savanaclaw

Kingscholar parents: We know little about them but Mr. Kingscholar still has an insane chokehold on his sons even though he's bedridden and seriously ill now so that makes me think he's probably a very intimidating figure. It doesn't seem to be done with affection either. No idea about Mrs. Kingscholar either. But there's Kifaji so I'm assuming he's doing more of the parenting than the two of them. 2/10 for the parents, 8/10 for Kifaji.

Bucchi parents: Mrs. Bucchi is dead but I'm guessing she would've been at the very least a decent mom if she kept Mr. Bucchi around just by being alive. Mr. Bucchi taking off is definitely shitty tho, abandonment at its finest. Grandma Bucchi luckily picked up the slack. 0/10 for the parents, 10/10 for grandma.

Howl parents: Absolute perfection. Their worst crime is giving Jack such high expectations of what a soulmate relationship could be like. Adore them. 10/10 perfect parenting.

Octavinelle

Ashengrotto parents: Mrs. Ashengrotto's pampering of Azul made it so that he got bullied but that was definitely not her intention. Good on her also for getting a divorce instead of fighting in front of the child. AND her new hubby gets along great with Azul too so honestly? Good for her! 9/10

Leech parents: I feel like if I say anything, I'll get assassinated I'll give them 5/10 for letting their kids eat each other.

Scarabia

Asim parents: "You're getting targeted? Lol just deal with it." honestly? I'm not even gonna criticize the polygamy since that's a culture thing but at least take care of your kids damn. Kalim may look like a ball of sunshine but you know he's messed up in the head because of this. 0/10 please stop having so many kids and start taking care of them.

Viper parents: I know they did what they thought was best but seriously? They not only damaged Jamil but also Kalim by proxy. Their own trauma explains it buuuut maybe don't use it as an excuse to make your underage son test for poison which already almost killed him once? But hey, Najma seems okay so maybe it's just Jamil's fault. 5/10 they did what they could but it was not great.

Pomefiore

Eric Venue: Amazing dad tbh. He did the best he could and he did amazing. Vil's trauma is not on him, it's on the industry. So I guess Eric's worst crime is having a job in said industry. Burn it to the ground for a better score. 9/10 still love you mwah.

Felmier parents: I mean, there's definitely some sexism in that family, Epel had to have got it from somewhere. Marja is better in this regard but didn't have all that much effect it seemed. 6/10 could be worse but please live in modern times.

Hunt parents: ??? We literally know nothing about them but their kid is weird af. ???/10 do you think he was just left on the side of the road somewhere?

Ignihyde

Shroud parents: Let their 8yo and 6yo wander around a non-governmental research facility with monsters everywhere with no supervision and then didn't even get Idia therapy when Ortho literally died right in front of him. Also they apparently didn't like robot Ortho but that magically disappeared in book 6. 1/10 they're getting better I guess but they still messed up.

Diasomnia

Draconia parents: Meleanor died before he even hatched, Levan went to get milk and never came back, Maleficia just pawned him off to Lilia. Everyone in his life let him down. Lilia isn't the stepdad, he's the dad that stepped up! Wish he was better at parenting and didn't enable Malleus so much tho. 0/10 for the biological parents, 6/10 for Lilia.

Vanrouge parents: Literally not even there. Maleficia took him in but it wasn't an adoption. No wonder Lilia kinda sucks as a parent, he had nowhere to learn the right way. 0/10 honestly not great.

Istovan parents: They died to protect their son and put him in a magical coma so he would wake up when he was loved? Horrible condition for release but I understand where they were coming from. 4/10 solid attempt.

Lilia Vanrouge: He left a 5yo alone while there were bears in the area so he could travel. He dropped two elementary-aged kids off in the woods for two weeks with no supplies. He fed Silver the insanity that is his cooking. He tends to ignore/forget his son for Malleus' sake. He cares for sure but dammit Lilia... 4/10 only because he genuinely loves Silver so much, he just sucks.

Zigvolt parents: Cute but so busy with work they let the racist grandpa raise their kids. No wonder Sebek has issues. Very supportive tho so at least there's that. AND held Lilia accountable for little Silver's well-being. 6/10 could be better but solid enough.

Special edition – Flamme parents: PLEASE get your kid therapy after they watch their sibling die a horrific and tragic death! What's with the parents in Twisted Wonderland letting something this huge slide?! Hope you enjoy having a bell as your child-in-law because this guy has absolutely no social skills and it is your fault. 0/10 just why.

SFTH Chaotic Highlights (OMG Is This A Joke)

Alright, I'm finally starting to make these for the longforms! These are gonna be quite a bit longer than the other two I've made, since these videos are (typically) longer and I have a lot of thoughts about them lol (edit while writing, less than halfway through the video - yeah, I have way more to say than I thought I would)

Here’s what you need to know if you are a leftist/ just want Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael out of government.

Firstly, why do we need to get them out?

Because they have been in power for almost 100 years! 100 years of a “centre” right government. We have not even had a centre left government in all this time, never mind a left government. Something has to fucking change. Even if you’re not a socialist like me, you have to acknowledge that all the problems currently in Ireland have been caused, or at least not dealt with by them. They’re the ones in power! And yet they talk about the issues in Ireland and how something has to be done… Simon Harris is a joke with his “a new energy” signs. Cunt you’re the current fucking Taoiseach!

So, who should you vote for?

If you truly want change, and a government that is for the people, vote People Before Profit number one. They are actually putting actions behind their words. They have explicitly said that they will refuse to go into government with FF or FG. They want the other left parties to form a left coalition with them, and also make a stand to refuse a right government. Other left parties, however, are quite lukewarm on the situation, and won’t join the coalition. But still put other left parties for number two and three. Some are more preferable than others. But change is change.

Ok if you’re not a socialist like me, there are other options. Sinn Féin is centre left, so if a bit more conservative than others. This makes it the third most voted for party generally. It’s a bit more palatable to the general public than the commies I vote for lol. I don’t agree with the majority of their policies, especially with them dialling back their support for trans people. I assume to appeal to FF and FG supporters. As a trans person I wouldn’t personally vote for them. But I understand the logic of being strategic about your vote. They’re the most likely to win out of the left parties.

Why should you still vote for parties that likely won’t win the overall vote?

Because they will still get seats! This isn’t a presidential election where it’s all or nothing. The majority winner gets to be the ones in power. But this is a democracy. More votes for a party means more seats for them in the Dáil. So it does matter.

What is each party’s stance on taking action against Israel?

Aontú are literal nazis. Their main selling point is that they hate immigrants. They want to strip their rights and practically stop immigration all together. They also hate women, and want to criminalise abortion again. The members of the party were big parts of the pro life movement that tried to stop the abortion referendum. Of course they also hate trans and queer people. Basically any and all minorities. They aim to bring fascism to our government. Don’t let this happen. This is also why voting is so important, so we can prevent this.

And this should go without saying, but don’t fucking vote for the joker independent candidates that have signs around saying shit like “make crime illegal”. It’s not even a joke to vote for them. You’re an asshole if you throw your vote away like that.

he’s young, so he likes to drink a little here and there

yet refrains from doing so often, it’s REALLY rare for him to get drunk as he needs to keep in ‘top shape’ for all his training or whatever he’s came up with in his head

he won’t decline a bar visit with you. but will most likely settle on a pint or two, sometimes choosing not to drink at all. one of the rare times he does it has to be a good occasion - someone’s birthday, or an important celebration or event

trying to get him to drink when he’s not feeling up to it will simply get a chuckle out of him, teasingly asking you what your intentions are

you two most likely see who can drink the most. he’s beat you every single time and ended up carrying you home. each and every damn time without fail

Random Sebastian Sallow Headcanons pt.5

Just really random headcanons about Sebastian Sallow, what more can I say?

Loves reading biographies. It's always an opportunity to learn, and we all know how he feels about that. However, I think he'd like reading autobiographies even more since he thinks it's more interesting coming from the perspective of the actual person.

That being said, he also has a diary he writes in quite often. And yes, he doodles in it constantly.

Pretty decent in Wizards Chess; however, he's only beaten Garreth once because we all know how good those Weasleys are at Wizards Chess. But Sebastian is 100% definitely the kind of guy to over-analyze every single move to the point where it's hardly fun to play with him anymore, but hey, at least he's determined!

Definitely the "rules are meant to be broken" kind of guy, but he understands the difference between important rules and useless rules (kinda 💀).

Coffee was definitely different back then; however, he'd probably be a bit of an addict, to be honest. I just KNOW that boy is staying up wayyyy too late and needs the caffeine to stay up. (He hates the taste, but it gives him energy before it makes him go kaput lol.)

He's an extrovert, but put a good book in his hands, and he might as well have become an introvert with the way he's ignoring people.

Big fan of exploring, whether that's the grounds around Hogwarts or exploring some book/literature. He likes being out in nature, so you can best believe he's been to the Forbidden Forest quite a few times.

He's quite a big flirt but doesn't know much of what to do after that. Flirtatious behavior comes naturally to him as he's a pretty confident guy, but once the other person actually shows genuine interest in him, he gets a little stuck because he was not expecting it.

He's clumsy; let's be real here.

Can trip on his own shoes, up the stairs, down the stairs, on air; literally anything. It happened a lot more when he was younger, and he's gotten better about fixing his balance, but he used to have bruises all the time from where he had fallen. (Me too, Seb. Me too.)

A tad impatient but not out of malice, he's just the kind of guy to really want to get up and do things, to try and get them done. Dwelling on issues has never brought him any peace of mind, so he's ready to get in there, do the job, and get out. Which could possibly lead to quite a few of his issues LOL. (ifykyk)

You know how his hair is hard to draw? (artists, I can hear you screaming from here). Yeah, well, it's hard to style as well. Ever since he was a boy, his hair was always quite messy, and his mother used to try her best to tame it, but he was a rather energetic boy, so it didn't really stay how it was styled.

HE'S FINALLY DEAD.

This oversized infant has been tormenting me ever since his fateful introduction as the Wall Of All Time in rank G2. It's difficult enough to just scare him off, but for months now, I've had my sights set on outright slaying him.

I tried everything. Aerial style great sword to the face for 30 minutes straight. Max dragon attack striker lance dash spam into his gut. Hell, I even tried the infamous weaponless strategy, frantically hauling cannonballs back and forth, calculating every single ballista shot, carefully counting flinches. But alas, Lao-Shan Lung was simply too powerful for one scrawny little hunter. I was faced with the horrible realization, that if I wanted to take him down alone... I was going to have to play a ranged weapon. (GASP!)

Anyway yeah those guides ain't joking lol dragon pierce bow is ridiculously overpowered against this guy. It took me 2 tries because I've literally never used a bow before, but once I got the hang of it, it was a super easy hunt. Here's the set that netted me a 20 minute Lao kill with both fortresses at 100%:

I got stupid lucky with the Valstrax grind and got 2 mantles and an orb on a single hunt, so I just ran with it; Magnastar is more than capable of getting the job done, even in the hands of a clueless melee main.

EHEHEHE personally i think she’s genderfluid and uses he/she/they pronouns…….I think he was kind of an uncracked egg up until the trials though. like, he’s been in survival mode for so long that he’s never had the time or luxury to really think about himself or his identity….i think he’s had a lot of different disguises over his career though, and those personas are either male or female depending on what the situation calls for so he’s not a stranger to dressing femininely either.

but yeah…i think for a long time hugo just identified as male by default cuz like…what else would he be LOL. if he had any doubts at all they weren’t significantly hindering him or anything so he just buried them with all the other of the emotions he doesn’t want to feel. but like the closet is made of GLASS and this becomes especially obvious when she teams up with 3 other teenagers who are also transgender so sometimes she’ll just Say Shit and they all turn around and look at her like “…….🤨”

i have this very vivid scene in my head where varian comes out to the gang as trans and hes clearly really uneasy abt it. and hugo doesn’t know what to say so he just tries to relate by saying the first thing that comes to mind and goes “oh yeah i get it i mean. sometimes i wish i was a girl but like not all the time yk” and nuru and varian both just stop and stare at him

fast forward to post-trials though, and hugo’s been living in the castle with varian for about six months…it was REALLY messy for both of them while she was adjusting, but at this point shes finally started to let her guard down a little, and all of a sudden she has SO much free time and she has no idea what to do with any of it. she’s stealing collecting things, tinkering with all kinds of useless little gadgets, rapunzel is teaching her tons of little arts and crafts projects. overall shes pretty content despite everything. So anyways then the gender crisis hits them like a fucking freight train

honestly i’m like half joking when i say i think it started bc they just kept forgetting to cut their hair. like one day they looked in the mirror and they’re like “wow my hairs getting so long i kinda look like a girl lol. Wait”

AND AS FUNNY AS IT IS ITS SO. WILDLY UNFAMILIAR TO THEM. like all of a sudden theyre SO insecure for as far as they can tell, NO reason and it drives them CRAZY. i dont even think that hugo dislikes their masculine features after coming out, i think they embrace them if anything but its just like…going from 0 to 100 so fast and suddenly being so hyper aware of themselves in a way that they NEVER were before…having to realize that they’re definitely Not cis. it’s fucking TERRIFYING!!!

not to mention it hits him all at once during a time when he’s still frankly really paranoid about him and varian’s relationship, and he’s kinda walking on eggshells bc deep down he’s convinced that var’s just gonna get tired of him eventually and kick him out. its like he’s just waiting for the final nail in the coffin despite the fact that there is literally no coffin.

All that being said i think it takes him a while to work up the courage to talk to varian about it. and he knows he won’t like. hate him for being trans or anything (I sure hope he wouldn’t, at least, seeing as he is literally also trans) but varian’s already done SO much for him and helped him through literally everything already….he doesn’t want to burden him any more than he already has. he also cant comprehend that someone can just Like him, like, as a person, so he’s convinced himself that varian must see something specific in him right now and he’s afraid that if he changes himself drastically in any way then whatever varian saw in him just. won’t be there anymore. If that makes sense

as for who he actually goes to first- honestly i think it’d have to be lance. at least in my head lance was the first person hugo really started to bond with aside from varian….he didn’t start letting his guard down with rapunzel until quite a while after that. also i think he’s worried that if he tells rapunzel she’d end up accidentally spilling something to varian (which is like. Valid bc she’s a horrible liar) he’d definitely write a letter to nuru, too, but nuru is also in another kingdom, and that message takes a while to get to her, so it’s more something they talk about after the fact

when he finally does get a letter back after dumping this revelation on her it’s just like

“dearest hugo. upon reading your letter i desperately wanted to tell you that i told you so, but i realize that would be in poor taste, seeing as you are clearly struggling right now. Moreover,-“ /j

regardless of who she tells first, they obviously all support her and encourage her to talk to varian as well…And ofc varian hypes her up to no end when she finally does. i wanna say it’s a sweet emotional scene but i feel like varian was also under the assumption that she figured out the gender thing like a year ago /j

Okay so I saw S1E2 of HH “Video killed the radio Star” so here’s my thoughts on that, ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️

- So once again, the pacing is all over the place. In the span of 2 episodes we have to deal with introducing Adam and Lute, the main characters of the hotel, the three V’s and Sir Pen, and I don’t like how the three V’s are introduced in the second episode of season 1. Like…can we just let the characters we know breathe and get to know them before you introduce new ones?? Told you this was going to be like Helluva lol.

- So hell is freaking out that the extermination got moved to 6 months later, but Charlie of course isn’t the focus of this episode. It’s mainly the three V’s + Angel/Al/Sir Pen. It still bothers me that the reason behind redeeming sinners is not because Charlie is sick of Hell being a damnation but because she doesn’t want them to be exterminated. It’s such a drastic change from the pilot and the character motivation that it still throws me off sorry.

- So, I actually like Vox. I take back bitching about Christian Borle playing him because while his suave voice may not fit the twink design, he does a fantastic job either way as expected, making Vox an intimidating person. I had thought before that Vox was going to just be this dumb henchman, but I actually like how he’s the runner of things. He’d be so cool if he didn’t curse and talk like every other character in the show though.

- Good GOD Valentino. I already shared how I felt about him when the dialogue leaks came out, but I HATE how his character is just this idiot man baby who throws temper tantrums and legit needs to be “calmed down” by Vox because he’s such an idiot. Like…Velvette calls him a piss baby and Vox legit had to talk to him as if he was one, that’s how dumb this guy is. There’s a scene where Vox asks what they should do about the hotel and Val says “just put something inside, that’s how I get the bitches”- like…kill me. The fan interpretations were better. He was actually someone you didn’t want to mess with and had an intimidating voice, here he’s a whiny baby that you have to remind yourself is the same guy who forces himself on Angel. The Addict and comic version of this character is not the same as the one we have now. His voice is too high pitch, it sucks and his accent goes on and off constantly. Viv can’t write abusers for shit, she sees everything as a joke. Again, how are we supposed to take abuse seriously if this is how you portray your abuser. Crimson is more intimidating than this joke of a cockroach.

- Alastor has been gone for seven years, yeah that “Lilith is Rosie and Al is working for her”- allegation is 100% true like it perfectly lines up together since Lilith has also been gone for seven years. Only for Alastor, it makes no sense. Like…wdym he’s been gone for seven years. The pilot is canon and they state he’s been at the hotel for a week. Alastor was literally walking around town when Charlie was on the news. Do they mean that it’s been years since he’s done his radio show? Viv, when you retcon shit you need to specify. You’re just confusing everyone again.

- They need to explain why exactly it’s dangerous to make a deal with Alastor because all this vagueness isn’t helping the story. The whole reason Vox sends Sir Pen out to be a spy was to make sure Charlie didn’t make a deal with him, yet you literally have Vaggie making a deal with him like it was nothing in the last episode. I also fail to see why exactly Vox cares about Charlie making a deal with Alastor in the first place. Is it because he doesn’t want Al to have more power? Is it because he doesn’t want Charlie to have power? EXPLAIN.

- Yay more retconning and woobifying. So Angel Dust is a whiny wimpy bitch in this episode, he’s very out of character. When Sir Pen comes to the hotel, he’s extra pressed about that, when in the pilot he couldn’t even take Sir Pen seriously and was acting nonchalant towards him. Then when Charlie starts getting all giddy and complimenting Pen, Angel gets sad and jealous??? This is the second fucking episode of season 1. I thought the whole point about Angel and the hotel was that he didn’t trust Charlie nor take the redemption stuff seriously. Now apparently he wants her approval? And then when he finds Pen out, Pen insults him and that causes Angel to just fucking lunge at him and start punching. When did Angel get this goddamn sensitive. Why did the wimpy snake character who’s supposed to be a loser get under his skin THAT much? It’s even more jarring because the last episode Angel was literally saying he loves being exploited and in the pilot he’s presented as someone who could give less of a shit of what other people think, now a simple jab at him being a slut made him go off. Remember when Travis called him a slut in the pilot and Angel just laughed it off? What happened to that Angel lol.

- Vaggie has a line that flat out calls Angel a sexual harasser. And yet we’re supposed to feel bad for him and root for HuskerDust. Makes perfect sense Viv, fuck you. She has no idea what sexual harassment even is because she sees actual harassment as quirky funny jokes and paints it as genuine love. Pick a side. Is Angel an asshole who sexually harasses people or is he an uwu baby who deserves to be with Husk. Clearly Viv chose the second option.

- I liked Vox and Al’s song, tho I wish it was more singing instead of talking. Charlie’s song in the end was boring but at least it was short. I still don’t know how to feel about Pen being at the hotel tho. Like I get he’s a loser and not a big threat but him happily joining the hotel now is way too structurally fast. There’s a lot of things that feel like Viv changed at the last minute compared to the pilot and it shows. Pilot was better.

That’s it, not looking forward to the third one which is HuskerDust focused (female centric show my ass)

I survived getting half my sleeve lined but boy am I sore. Tattoos on your hand are the absolute pits. Like no joke, hand tattoos are rough my guys. 10/10 do not recommend, but I'm doing it because it looks cute LOL.

This tattoo will be a tea themed sleeve. Featured on this half: hibiscus, chamomile, green tea leaves, raspberries + raspberry leaf, and lemons. I have another appointment in December and January to get the shading done but for now just lines!

I am reading HYQ but am not caught up, so I may not have much to offer! However, I will echo what everyone else has been saying that the Water Dragon God fight was awesome, if only for the moment Natsu's darker side came out.

This ^ moment has been talked about to death, but it is genuinely one of my favorites that has ever happened in the series. Don't even get me started on how E.N.D. was fumbled in the Alvarez arc. This made that wound a little easier to bear. We ate well this day 😌.

From what I can tell, no more NaLu development has happened from that point on, and it has been severely disappointing... Natsu's character stagnation has been tough, too 😔.

So with that said, here is what I am hoping for (but not too hard... because I don't want to be hurt again lol):

NaLu Development: We are begging for scraps at this point. Give me another "Come back to me! This isn't you!" moment in bright neon flashing letters. Give me angst / hurt / comfort. Happy for them, but how did we get Gruvia before NaLu? I don't know, I don't care, I don't want anything else. Give me my OTP. 🤲

E.N.D. Development: (See #1 for the "This isn't you!" moment). If the Great Disappointing Demon Seed has run its course, PLEASE give me a struggle between Natsu's darker side and his humanity. Call it the influence of Ignia's flames, or dig up E.N.D. again. I don't care -- Serve it to me here *taps table* on a silver platter. Make Natsu go berserk. REAL berserk. Oh, it's not in character for him to truly go too far and hurt the ones he loves? That's the point. Instead of a dumb boob joke, have him actually reflect and talk with his team about what's going on, and how to handle it. Then develop NaLu by having her pull him back again. Boom. Subplot. Done. ✔️

That's it. That's all I would like to see in the series. That's all anyone wants to see in the series (don't worry, I asked).

Megapost about All the Ways Catra’s Arc Failed (Originally a Mile-Long Series of Discord Messages)

So, compilation:

- “You try so hard to play the big bad villain, but your heart’s never been in it, has it?” I’m sorry, but this is just objectively untrue. Catra has always liked having power over others ever since she took ShW’s place. Yet again her actions are downplayed (yes, I know DT gets harsher later on, but I still dislike this line).

- “We both know this was never what you really wanted” (implying that Catra just wanted someone to stay) - I mean, maybe that’s true, but if so it also applies to ShW, who “just wanted Adora to stay” too. They both genuinely wanted Adora home, but what they want doesn’t matter when they’re willing to crush others beneath their heel to get what they want.

- I hate the whole “Adora means something to you” bit to Catra. He’s clearly implying that Catra loves her.

- Ok, so that moment when Glimmer and Catra talk together? That should have been when Catra apologized imo. Then she should have saved Glimmer, FOR GLIMMER’S OWN SAKE.

- About the Corridors flashback: Catra has been beating up on people since she was a kid. I’m NOT saying she was abusive as a kid, kids aren’t responsible for their actions like adults are, BUT it did normalize a relational dynamic that became abusive in the future. This further bolsters my claim that Catra, though not always abusive per se, was never a good friend. Why would she be? I don’t think her relationship with Adora was ever anything close to healthy, which before the show was 100% ShW’s fault, but it doesn’t make it any less of a trauma-bonding relationship that has a negligible chance of being a healthy basis for a romance. (After Adora asked Catra to leave and Catra refused, that’s when it stopped being ShW’s fault and became Catra’s instead imo.)

- Glimmer’s reaction to Catra makes no sense. The last time she saw Catra she was ready to kill her. It only makes sense if she had since learned to see the other side as human. Hence her befriending ShW in Sage

- “Sleepovers in the Horde” she acts like she and Adora were sharing some intimate moment but they were literally in a group barrack lol

- The fact that Catra and Adora never even blushed around each other before S5 (not that blushing is always romantic) is part of why I didn’t “catch on.” That and all the romantic “hints” Catra dropped being abusive…

- “Adora can’t even relax when she’s asleep” yeah because ShW was telling y’all horror stories and prowling the barracks at night and terrorizing you guys in general, it’s not something to joke about 😦 That said, if Catra had just stuck to harmless teasing about Adora’s quirks, it would have been fine. I actually LIKE this scene where she and Glimmer talk (even if Angella, the elephant in the room, is being ignored)

- I don’t like that Catra was chipped later on for many reasons, but one of them is that it took the focus of the cult trauma away from Hordak where it belonged. It also feeds into the narrative’s “suffering = redemption” narrative, ironically.

- “And yet you seek to protect her.” How is Catra doing literally anything to protect Adora right now???

- Catra is telling Prime sincerely that she wants Adora gone and Prime is insisting that Catra must love Adora without having ever known either of them. Ridiculous. 😂

- “She causes you nothing but suffering” is Prime a conduit for the creator’s opinions on Adora

- I just can’t buy that Catra and Glimmer are able to laugh together about Adora when Glimmer lost her mom and had the hardest year of her life as queen BECAUSE OF CATRA. It’s unbelievable. Like Glimmer never really trusted ShW but she trusts Catra instantly even though Catra has done even less work toward self-improvement than ShW has.

- I think the touch about the universe being wiped out is a good one. Catra's been struggling with guilt over that since early S4. I just don't know why it took this long for her to realize, "Hm, maybe we DON'T want the alien army from another world coming here?"

- The fact that Adora came back for Catra even though Catra scratched her - that's a very sad foreshadowing of their entire relationship from here on out.

- "I know you like her better than me" This is so sad because she's projecting ShW's favoritism onto Adora. That being said, this shows that *even early on,* Catra didn't want Adora having other friends who weren't her. Abusive? No, Catra is a kid and not responsible for her actions in the same way an adult would be. A sign that she's a bad friend (though she couldn't have known better) and will continue to be a bad friend? Absolutely.

- I feel like the point of that scene was to show the "good times"/the fact that Adora always loved Catra, but the issue is that this was just as unhealthy a situation as before. And the show never acknowledges it.

- "I am your friend. If you apologize we can all be friends." And she couldn't handle that!

- I don't like the choice to make Adora's huge scratches from Catra fade away in the later flashback, and I don't like how even though Catra stomped on her stomach that was never addressed and when the flashback cuts again they're just smiling like nothing happened. That's the epitome of their relationship. Catra says or does something mean, she doesn't apologize, and Adora bears the burden anyway. It's the same thing Adora's dealt with since she was a kid from ShW.

- "I want to do that one good thing." How about doing LOTS of good things, and NOT doing bad things eventually? Can we try that?

- "How do I know I can trust you?" “You don't." Catra. Darling. The correct answer is "You can trust me because I'm going to do the right thing now."

- "Are you saving me?" "Not you. Adora." Can you imagine if ShW saved Catra's life and then said "Oh I wasn't saving you, I was saving Micah?" And that's a charitable assumption that Catra loves Adora like ShW loves Micah. Everyone would be PISSED. If they wanted Catra to actually DO that "one good thing," she'd say "Yes, I'm saving you AND Adora." This isn't something that can be blamed on "the process of change." This is a failure for Catra to be in a mindset or redemption/remorse AT ALL.

- "All I do is hurt people." Funny how this doesn't actually apply to Catra, it's just her cognitive distortion, but it applies to ShW later on when Adora lashes out on her. Almost as though there's a double standard here.

- They also give Catra an apology and not ShW as if Catra *apologizing* before killing herself made anything better. :/ Catra was just as selfish as ShW in that scene and I don't care what anyone says

- "She said she was doing it for you." She should have been doing it for Glimmer, her enemy, too. Not just so she could get in Adora's pants. It would be like ShW saving Micah in S1 as her grand redemption. It's easy to save someone you love. Saving someone you don't/didn't like is a real test of whether you've changed.

- "Maybe we'll never be friends like we used to be" my freaking gosh Glimmer. Stop beating yourself up. The fact Catra never said this to Adora or anyone else is ridiculous - why did they give her arc to Glimmer???

- "You would never risk the safety of Catra" Adora literally punched her into oblivion in S3 and gave her a look that said "I will do whatever it takes to stop you" as well. There's also no reason Prime would believe this about Adora. Catra's memories say Adora doesn't care about her, that no one does. Just another dumb, forced Catradora line.

- I'm fighting back so many words about this whole episode. But. “You broke my heart, but Prime has made it whole again." This and everything else makes it clear that this is ADORA's inner demons being confronted, not Catra's. This is why I hate chipped Catra. It makes no sense because Catra is just saying what she normally would even if she weren't chipped.

- Can you imagine if Adora were chipped instead? That would force Catra to confront her inner demons. Adora would be abusive to her because of the chip, meaning Catra would look at a mirror of herself and see what she's done. It would force Catra to be a better person, to save Adora for HER OWN SAKE and HER OWN AUTONOMY.

- catra put her hand on adora's boob. it's out of frame but it's there. why was this allowed. Again with the sexual touching coupled by abuse (not even referring to the boob, just this whole scene). How on earth is this sexy, normal, or foreshadowing a healthy relationship??

- "But you have hurt me." And Adora's face goes slack like she feels guilty. The music indicates that what she's saying is true, that these are hard things Adora has to accept. ADORA is the one having a redemption arc here according to the show.

- "You're such an idiot." Adora should have clapped back with "No, I'm not! I came back because it was the right thing to do!" "Yeah, I know" just makes it sound awkward esp with the history of legitimate insults Catra has

- "I'm going to take you home!" "Pro...mise?" I know this was meant as a cute moment but it doesn't land for me because it comes across as the show saying Adora broke her old promise and is now making a new one. It wouldn't have been a bad thing if Catra hadn't interpreted "We look out for each other and then nothing can get to us" as "I'll stay in whatever toxic situations you make me stay in," but alas. Catra was the one who broke the promise, NOT Adora.

- I have no idea why Catra is CONTINUING to sulk after she was just rescued. Last episode she seemed so relieved and happy to be rescued. Like, Alura does have a sulking episode in Seraphite too, but I have plenty of room to give her that space to process. Catra doesn't *have* that kind of space. If they wanted to show a real redemption, she should have had another beat in her arc in the last episode. I know progress isn't linear, but the crew definitely needed to choose between realistic, painful and slow, or quick, bright, and something that actually qualifies as a redemption arc. The pacing is so bad. if they wanted the slow and painful kind of redemption, they should have had it begin at the midpoint of S4 when Scorpia leaves.

- "This is Catra we're talking about. Did you think she'd just become a different person?"

Uh...no, but that's not what Adora was expecting. She was expecting PROGRESS, which has not been made.

- Why the heck is Adora blushing when Catra holds her hand? The context just...doesn't make sense for it. Also "Please...stay" as a motif is guilt-tripping her, I'm sorry.

- Catra should have said what she was sorry for, but I do think she was genuine. Entrapta's "I forgive you" genuinely made me tear up.

- “Take it from someone who’s defeated you guys a lot, charging in won’t work” Catra definitely sounds proud of her actions here 🙄

- “I can’t believe we were losing to you guys” WE. She still considers herself part of the Horde.

- It’s so damn frustrating how Bow and Glimmer just treat Catra normally even though she’s still bragging about her deeds but back on Etheria literally no one will tease or razz or treat ShW like a friend

- Ok, so Catra having temper issues is 100% fine. She’s trying to be better about that. But it does little good when her actual words are so cruel. Saying she’s trying to redeem herself just because of that is like saying ShW is redeeming herself because she doesn’t have violent outbursts like in S1.

- “It never stopped you before!” Another totally redemptive statement from Catra!

- “I have some experience taking out princesses” Wow, sooo redemptive! And soooo sorry for trapping Angella in the In-Between!

- “She’ll be ok.” Why can’t we have this version of Catra like. All the time

- “You have no files on real threats, like me” so redemptive! So repentant!

- “I’m working on being a better friend!” Well you’re doing a bad job at it. Be nice to everyone. Not just some people. I don’t see how Catra and ShW are any different in this regard. ShW loves Micah and is trying to make things right with him. The problem is she still treats other people who are NOT Micah poorly. Catra is doing the same

- Perfuma literally offered Catra therapy and Catra said no. 🙄

- lmao shw was absolutely right to call catra evil in return. catra's out here acting like she's so much better when she's the exact same kind of person ShW is. (And yes, she is still acting like ShW in her unrepentant attitude.)

- I 100% also agree that they should have left Catra behind. She was sulking and complaining about having to work with ShW when everyone else has been doing it for a VERY LONG TIME. Including Adora, who was ALSO directly abused by her! Grow up, girl. This is war. You're gonna have to work with people you don't like. (I understand why Catra feels this way but if redemption is the point she humbly needs to accept that she will be working with people she may not like and she still needs to do the right thing anyway.)

- "I know, I know, you have to go save the world" girl, no one's forcing you to stay. Go and leave so Adora can do the right thing with the people who ACTUALLY support her, for cripes' sake.

- "Not because I like you." I haaate this line. She's not just a cute tsundere

- Grrr. ShW grabbing Catra in a moment of panic when Catra is literally TALKING WITHIN EARSHOT and yet the show frames it as ShW violating Catra or something like that. She was trying to protect the whole group when she did that! Good grief. Again, I'm not saying Catra wouldn't react that way, but why is that even there to begin with??? It's so pointless and only serves as a way to make ShW look bad. Good grief.

- ShW is almost 100% right in her advice for Adora to distance herself from Catra during the war. The only lie was that Adora and Catra hurt *each other* instead of it being one-sided. (But to be fair, ShW wasn't there so for all she knows it was mutual.) It's framed as her trying to tear them apart and therefore as a bad thing, but when Catra is still being so passive-aggressive and mean...yeah. ShW is completely right about her main point. And she was also trying to be as kind and gentle to Adora as possible. She knew that Adora loved Catra and was sympathetic to that.

- "If you care about her focus on protecting her" SHE IS COMPLETELY RIGHT ABOUT THIS! WHY IS THIS FRAMED AS A BAD THING?? Is Adora supposed to NOT protect Catra?? Like I know the intent was probably "ShW is pushing it onto Adora to protect Catra just like ShW did when she was little" but protecting Catra from their MOTHER and protecting Catra from a COLONIZING ALIEN ARMY are completely different things!

- "The world needs you as She-Ra, not Adora." Again. She's being very blunt about it in her ShW way, but she's not wrong. They're only holding off Prime because She-Ra is there. Losing her would mean losing their one chance.

- There is ZERO evidence that ShW had ever been in the Failsafe room before and ZERO evidence she wants Adora to die. Catra is just making stuff up on the spot. So frustrating

- It is objectively true that it's better for Adora to *risk* her life on the Heart than to a.) do nothing, meaning Prime wins, or b.) sacrifice someone who's absolutely going to their death. If ShW wanted to sacrifice someone, she should have chosen Catra instead of Adora. Catra has no hope of surviving the process. Or literally anyone else BESIDES Adora. Adora is ShW's baby. ShW is a horrible parent, but she doesn't want Adora to die. I refuse to accept that idea.

- "It doesn't always have to be you!" It literally does though! If you don't want it to be Adora, sacrifice yourself instead!

- Man Catra not taking Adora's hand after she gets the Failsafe is so dang selfish. Same thing with her leaving. Selfish, selfish, selfish.

- Adora is right. It objectively ISN'T about ShW. "When do you get to choose?" Adora DID choose! She just didn't make the choice YOU wanted. You had a chance to say "Hey, I'll take on this burden so you don't have to," just like Angella did. But you DIDN'T. "I don't have to stay and watch it happen" good freaking riddance!

- Again, ShW is RIGHT about Catra. Completely RIGHT. Adora should NOT have to deal with Catra's bullcrap and if Catra wants to leave Adora needs to focus on doing the right thing surrounded by people who do unconditionally love and support her. Catra had MANY chances to be happy once ShW left the Horde. She refused all of them and that is NOT ShW's fault.

- "Adora chose ShW, not me!" You assume that 1.) Adora did that, which she didn't; 2.) that it has to be one or the other; 3.) That if she DID choose ShW, that's an invalid choice.

- I HATE the memory reprise that implies Catra always loved Adora. That is completely and intentionally dishonest. Can you imagine if they did the same thing with ShW and then used that to guilt Adora into staying with her? It's disgusting! Ironically all it does is remind Adora that she's alone. That her closest friend, one of her only family, abandoned her.

- "I abandoned you, Adora, because I've always loved you!" Isn't this the exact same excuse ShW used on Catra before dipping on her XD

- And once again, Catra only does the bare minimum required to be a good friend by going back AFTER she realizes that yes, the universe will die if Adora doesn't save everyone

- "I'm distracted and confused and scared" maybe if Catra hadn't been the worst friend ever just the night before this wouldn't be the case...

- Ok. So it's been established that ShW without the Black Garnet is brilliant but not very skilled at magic compared to Micah and others. She isn't powerful. But her protest of "it's not going to work, she's too far away!" is framed as selfishness. She's expected to kill herself to get to Adora, and when she does relent and get them there, it visibly hurts her. Which is it? Is she selfish or does she just not want to *permanently hurt herself?* (Keep in mind also that Glimmer said earlier she could have left someone's legs behind when teleporting...ShW could have maimed both herself and Catra!)

- "Do something good with your power for once" ShW's training literally saved Micah's life on Beast Island lmao, isn't that a good thing

- "Of course she's gone! That's what she does, isn't it?" Hm, kind of like what you did selfishly just last night? Oh wait. No. Because Adora is selfless, something you rarely ever were in the entire series. At least Catra acknowledges that she broke the Promise. But the show still thinks she and Adora are equally responsible.

- Man, Bow and Glimmer just...accepting Catra makes me so mad. If they were in character they'd 100% stand up for Adora whenever Catra mistreats her.

- I honestly do believe Catra stayed with Adora out of love. I’m not saying she doesn’t love Adora. The issue is she’s still being so mean otherwise

- “I love you, I always have, so stay” can you imagine ShW saying this and how the fandom would respond? The motif is clearly blaming Adora!

- And Catra didn't even have to apologize to Scorpia, yayyyy

Rambling about Eddie Dombrowski under the cut cause I can :)

I'm gen so glad there's a little baby community of people in the SH2 fandom where we really acknowledge Eddie's story. It bothers me so much if I see people playing/talking about the game and they completely brush over him as if his story isn't important at all and ur not actively watching the downfall of someone who hasn't known peace.

To completely label Eddie as a pure villain would be so incorrect, he's the most HUMAN depiction of a fat person I've personally seen in media and that means so much to me. His life is shit, it's implied he's been almost killed multiple times by his bullies and he feels like he has no place in the world. He's just about on the same level as James, u can see what he's done and obviously say it was bad, but that doesn't make him 'evil' at heart. His crashout was years in the making, even before Silent Hill! He's a complicated character, they all are!

The original PS2 game really does do him justice, I prefer it over the remake in terms of depiction. They're not too disrespectful, when the norm esp at the time is nothing but fat jokes they stay clear from that path pretty well. Even in the bowling alley scene it's not really set up in a way where you're supposed to find humor in him eating pizza. He has an unhealthy relationship with food! I feel like that much is clear.

It's the only thing he might as well have, considering the novel doesn't mention of him having friendships but DOES bring up that he's had no romantic relationships and has accepted he never will. Wouldn't be too much to assume his whole social life isn't the best! I do have plenty of personal headcanons but I won't go into it LOL.

He's just so tragic of a character and I WISH there were more people talking about him. I feel like i could talk on forever about him but I'd just be going in circles. He's 100% one of my favorite characters of all time just in general <3

Here’s a SB prompt for ya!

Gregory realistically couldn’t have lasted the entire game without getting hurt. He got bruises from being slammed into things, his limbs aches for days cause he pushed himself too hard, and you can’t tell me any scrapes from Monty or Roxy didn’t scar.

Gregory would 100% use jokes and quips to deal with all the memories from that night whenever it gets brought up. Freddy who’s programming is insistent on lightening the mood and is joke based hates when he does it with a burning passion.

I’m still not done with the mini ficlets, lol. I went with immediate aftermath instead of further down the line.

Just a Scratch

The shift from night mode to day mode as, somewhere, a clock finally struck six was the best thing Gregory had seen all night. Lights began to turn on, STAFF bots disappeared by the dozen, and the stupid music cut out, leaving a ringing silence in its wake. 

Just visible from his hiding place, he watched Chica twitch a bit, then zombie walk away toward her room down the long hall of Rockstar Row. Mere minutes later, Monty and Roxy followed, none seemingly aware of their surroundings. They all vanished into their rooms without a peep. 

Still tense and on guard, Gregory unfolded himself from the tight corner behind the trash can he’d been tucked behind. There was no movement from the green rooms; from where he was crouched, he could see that Roxy’s was empty. Recharging in their back hallways, maybe? 

Guests would start arriving in a few hours, after all, and the show must go on.

Limping down the hall, he raised his watch and pressed the button to talk. “Freddy? You still with me?” 

“I am still here, superstar,” Freddy said, and he sounded so relieved. “I believe it is over. The barricade over the doors has risen. You are safe now.” 

Safe. It’d only been one night, but it felt like such a foreign concept. How could the pizzaplex ever feel safe again, no matter what time of day it was? 

Six hours. Not even counting that first hour before the barricade went down. Longest six hours of his life.

He was starting to feel a little woozy and unsteady on his feet by the time he and Freddy found each other. Freddy gasped at the sight of him, and the sound reflexively made him look around wildly, expecting an attack. But the quiet halls were empty but for the two of them. 

“Gregory,” Freddy said urgently. “You are far more injured than I thought! We must get you medical care immediately.” 

Gregory blinked uncomprehendingly for a moment before looking down at himself and taking stock of his body for the first time in hours. He’d kinda had other, more important things on his mind, y’know?

The first thing he noticed were the bruises. He’d hit the deck more than once, either on purpose or from tripping, and his knees reflected that. They were dark and discolored. Lower, on his left leg, a trio of long gashes slashed diagonally down the front and curved around the back. They started to sting fiercely now that he’d noticed them. Monty had grabbed him there once, he remembered faintly. 

It was all a bit of a blur, to be honest. 

The sides of his upper arms and shoulders ached too, and he thought of how many times he’d taken a corner too fast, one animatronic or another hot on his tail, and the way he’d slammed into the walls before continuing on. On his back, the burn of another couple of cuts flared up; Chica had taken him by surprise at least twice. 

Shallow puncture wounds lined the top of his lower left arm from when he’d blocked Roxy’s teeth somewhere around 2 a.m. And both his right wrist and ankle throbbed with the pain of a sprain, probably from the one time the security guard had managed to grab him and yank him around and a fumbled jump down some stairs respectively. 

A full body ache buzzed through him, too—the result of running and lifting and pulling and pushing far too much, far beyond what his ten-year-old body was used to.

And his vision was admittedly a little blurry. A headache had started after the third time he’d had his head smacked into the floor by a pouncing Moon, so maybe he had a concussion on top of all the rest. 

The room was starting to spin, and Freddy was looking mightily concerned, which wasn’t an expression Gregory would have thought a robot capable of. Thoughts all tangled up around each other, he was suddenly desperate to reassure his protector that he was okay, honest, and they would look back on this night someday and laugh. 

He giggled now, tipped alarmingly to the side, and in a concussed attempt to alleviate Freddy’s worry and lighten the mood, Gregory enthusiastically declared, “Tis but a scratch!” 

Freddy made a noise of appalled disbelief, but if he said anything in response, Gregory didn’t hear it. He was too busy collapsing on the spot, thoroughly unconscious.
