Twisted Realist Makai Ouji AU

In this post, I hope to introduce the Makai Ouji cast to the world of Twisted Wonderland and explain little bits about each character. You can think of it as a more complete form of my previous post. The characters are very interesting and I believe would fit well into the world, so even if you don't know Makai Ouji, I'm sure you could enjoy this post. See the boys as OCs if you wish! William Twining came to the world of Twisted Wonderland by accident, the cause of which is a mystery even to him. He shocked the entrance ceremony crowd by refusing to let himself be sorted by the Mirror of Darkness and instead choosing his path himself. While he can be a bit hard-headed, he is a very reasonable student with deep respect for the rules and order of things, making Heartslabyul an easy pick. The Mirror confirmed his decision, and thus, he was allowed to enroll. He is extremely smart and has a great memory, already knowing over half of the rules of the Queen of Hearts by the end of his second week in the school. He spends a lot of time in the library, researching a way to get back home, but also learning all the new magical knowledge the school can offer.

Isaac Morton arrived together with William and is utterly fascinated by the entirety of Twisted Wonderland. He was sorted into Scarabia and immediately hit it off with Kalim, bonding over their shared merchant background and love for tea and parties. Isaac is generally well-liked and extremely loyal. While he lacks William's sharp intellect, he has his own way of doing things and a remarkable magical talent, especially when it comes to summoning. He is often the target of Lilia's pranks because he tends to take things at face value,

Dantalion Huber came to Twisted Wonderland in search of William, only to find himself needing to blend in. After observing the situation for a while, he decided to join Savanaclaw. Leona, of course, knows about this, but he kept it a secret from Crowley. He is a star athlete and a strong magician focused on fire magic. Dantalion seems to show aversion to Pomefiore students, though he doesn't insult them directly. He also has a sort of respect for both Diasomnia and Ignihyde students.

Sitri Cartwright joined the Pomefiore dorm thanks to a sizeable donation to the school, but his main goal was to get close to William again. He is one of Epel's roommates, and there used to be some tension between them. However, once Epel found out that Sitri likes to sneak sweets after dinner, they quickly became good friends, often covering for each other to avoid Vil's wrath. Despite this, Sitri is not a problem student. He is quite popular but seems to have a complicated relationship with the Savanaclaw students.

Camio's presence at the school was quite the surprise for William and the others, but not so much for the general school populace. As far as anyone knows, he's been diligently studying here the whole time, eventually working his way up to share the dorm leader position with Malleus. Of course, for a mage as powerful as Camio, a small tweak to people's memories is no big deal, and he would never do it for malicious reasons. Malleus reminds him a lot of his younger self, and he wishes to help him grow and heal. He also often joins Silver with his animal friends, as he can naturally talk to birds.

Kevin Cecil appeared suddenly in front of the school one day, asking for his young master William. After confirming that he was, indeed, the Twinings' house steward, he was allowed access to the premises. He was almost made part of school stuff when Azul swooped in and recruited him for Octavinelle. This proved a wise investment, as Kevin is a hard worker. Aside from that, Azul found out another interesting thing – Kevin's complete lack of boundaries when it comes to gambling. Most of the money Kevin makes working at Mostro Lounge finds its way back to Azul's pocket by the end of the week. Azul sometimes teases William over this.

Gilles de Rais is a bit of a rumor at this point. He shows up unannounced in the Pomefiore uniform, then disappears just as suddenly, often startling or embarrassing students in the process. When he does stick around, it is usually by Sitri's side or gathering juicy gossip. He seems to have a thing for physically fit students and sometimes can be found in the Savanaclaw lounge, just watching. Dantalion seems particularly annoyed whenever that happens.

The twins Amon and Mamon are rarely ever seen apart. They claim to be keeping an eye on William for their master, but often goof off or just enjoy their student lives. Amon likes to play matchmaker while Mamon enjoys the luxuries of Mostro Lounge. They are very talented fliers. Sometimes, the two of them join Lilia in his pranks. The three of them get along very well, and even when they're not causing chaos, they spend a lot of time together. Outside of the transported cast, Lilia is the only one who knows of their true forms.

When Michael first showed up, he took on a different name. However, after finding this new world completely unaware of his usual environment, he dropped the pretense, now proudly walking the school halls with his brilliant white wings on full display. In time, he has aspirations to become the Heartslabyul dorm leader. He respects Riddle, though he wouldn't admit it's because Riddle reminds him of himself. He joined the Pop Music Club hoping to show them the wonders of choir music, but only ended up adding yet another unique music style that the rest of his clubmates don't particularly care about. He stays mostly for the snacks and gossip now.

Astaroth's main purpose for visiting Night Raven College was to check in on Dantalion. However, after taking a look around, she decided to spend her well-deserved vacation as an Ignihyde student. The first time she met Idia face to face, he almost lost it, though it is unclear whether it was because she was a pretty woman or just because of his usual anxiety. Astaroth enjoys the convenience of modern technology and is the definition of the phrase "I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it."

Since he decided that Dantalion needed a little more supervision, Baphomet has been carefully monitoring the situation, and eventually decided he would rather be close by just in case. He got sorted into Diasomnia, much to his surprise. However, he makes sure to follow the ideals of his dorm, never leaving his room messy or unorganized. That said, he does tend to have "accidents" when puns are involved, clearly not very fond of that style of humor. He has a long-standing rivalry with Leonard.

After visiting Sitri, Leonard stayed in the Pomefiore dorm, often volunteering for kitchen duty. Due to his long-standing rivalry with Baphomet, Leonard feels the need to constantly prove himself. Since he joined the school, he has organized multiple cook-offs against Baphomet, losing every single one. Even his choice of club was determined by his passionate feelings toward Baphomet. When isolated from his competition, though, he is a sweet and caring individual, often bringing Vil-approved sweets and snacks for the dorm during their yoga breaks.

However, she eventually chose Octavinelle as her dormitory, even going so far as to pretend to be a dwarf boy. She doesn't work at Mostro, excusing it by saying that her height makes it a challenge to properly serve human-sized customers, but the truth is that she finds Azul and Jade slightly off-putting. Floyd, on the other hand, has immediately won her over, and the two of them are tight as can be – especially when it comes to pranking their dormmates.

While he wasn't planning on it, when his master called, Ernest Crosby wasted no time before enrolling in a school once more. It has been a while since he was a student, of course, but fortunately enough, he does still look quite young. Noble Bell College suited him much more than Night Raven, and it also gave him enough distance to not put William in danger. And while he certainly misses the more religious aspects of his prior assignments, he does find common ground with the NBC students when it comes to the relentless pursuit of justice. He and Rollo respect each other but aren't particularly close (they bond over not being fond of Malleus and magic as a whole lol).

Hey, just wanted to say I appreciate you trying to help, really. I saw someone reblogged this post and got worried I was gonna be mocked or insulted. You did neither, and for that I am grateful.

However, I never said disabled people can never do art (nor am I trying to be woke), just that certain disabilities mean some people will never be able to accurately portray the ideas they want to. That's why I commission artists whenever I can, because I can express myself in words, and someone who can take that and turn it into a visual medium is all I need.

A little context for my health: About a year ago, I had a massive neurological collapse, a culmination of issues that went unnoticed and/or ignored by doctors for over a decade. Because of that, I currently can't walk without crutches, my attention span is down the drain, my sensory and food issues spiked up like crazy, and that's just the start of it. My hands are shaking and are so hard to control even typing like this is an issue (and bless autocorrect because it's saving my ass here). I wish I could put all my ideas down on paper, but it just isn't realistic for me.

Lastly, I just want to reiterate that my post was NOT a defense of AI "art" or anything of the sort. I understand occasional personal use and don't really care about it, but posting it or even getting paid for it is ridiculous and an insult to artists who genuinely honed their skill. Art is a practice like any other, you need to work on your abilities, but you also need some starting baseline. For me, my art almost never brought me joy, only frustration. Because try as I may, my hands never do what I want them to.

The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.

"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.

"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.

"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.

"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.

"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.

"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.

"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.

"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.

Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.

📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.

For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.

So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.

I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.

When he does stick around, it is usually by Sitri's side or gathering juicy gossip. He seems to have a thing for physically fit students and sometimes can be found in the Savanaclaw lounge, just watching. Dantalion seems particularly annoyed whenever that happens.

The twins Amon and Mamon are rarely ever seen apart. They claim to be keeping an eye on William for their master, but often goof off or just enjoy their student lives. Amon likes to play matchmaker while Mamon enjoys the luxuries of Mostro Lounge. They are very talented fliers. Sometimes, the two of them join Lilia in his pranks. The three of them get along very well, and even when they're not causing chaos, they spend a lot of time together. Outside of the transported cast, Lilia is the only one who knows of their true forms.

When Michael first showed up, he took on a different name. However, after finding this new world completely unaware of his usual environment, he dropped the pretense, now proudly walking the school halls with his brilliant white wings on full display. In time, he has aspirations to become the Heartslabyul dorm leader. He respects Riddle, though he wouldn't admit it's because Riddle reminds him of himself. He joined the Pop Music Club hoping to show them the wonders of choir music, but only ended up adding yet another unique music style that the rest of his clubmates don't particularly care about. He stays mostly for the snacks and gossip now.

Astaroth's main purpose for visiting Night Raven College was to check in on Dantalion. However, after taking a look around, she decided to spend her well-deserved vacation as an Ignihyde student. The first time she met Idia face to face, he almost lost it, though it is unclear whether it was because she was a pretty woman or just because of his usual anxiety. Astaroth enjoys the convenience of modern technology and is the definition of the phrase "I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it."

Since he decided that Dantalion needed a little more supervision, Baphomet has been carefully monitoring the situation, and eventually decided he would rather be close by just in case. He got sorted into Diasomnia, much to his surprise. However, he makes sure to follow the ideals of his dorm, never leaving his room messy or unorganized. That said, he does tend to have "accidents" when puns are involved, clearly not very fond of that style of humor. He has a long-standing rivalry with Leonard.

After visiting Sitri, Leonard stayed in the Pomefiore dorm, often volunteering for kitchen duty. Due to his long-standing rivalry with Baphomet, Leonard feels the need to constantly prove himself. Since he joined the school, he has organized multiple cook-offs against Baphomet, losing every single one. Even his choice of club was determined by his passionate feelings toward Baphomet. When isolated from his competition, though, he is a sweet and caring individual, often bringing Vil-approved sweets and snacks for the dorm during their yoga breaks.

While she didn't originally plan on visiting, Lamia found herself intrigued by the new environment after her mother decided to stay a while as well. However, she eventually chose Octavinelle as her dormitory, even going so far as to pretend to be a dwarf boy. She doesn't work at Mostro, excusing it by saying that her height makes it a challenge to properly serve human-sized customers, but the truth is that she finds Azul and Jade slightly off-putting. Floyd, on the other hand, has immediately won her over, and the two of them are tight as can be – especially when it comes to pranking their dormmates.

While he wasn't planning on it, when his master called, Ernest Crosby wasted no time before enrolling in a school once more. It has been a while since he was a student, of course, but fortunately enough, he does still look quite young. Noble Bell College suited him much more than Night Raven, and it also gave him enough distance to not put William in danger. And while he certainly misses the more religious aspects of his prior assignments, he does find common ground with the NBC students when it comes to the relentless pursuit of justice. He and Rollo respect each other but aren't particularly close (they bond over not being fond of Malleus and magic as a whole lol).

Often seen by Kevin's side, Raguel is a serious and always slightly gloomy young man. He doesn't seem to have any care about student life and rarely associates with anyone, even in his own dorm. He seems to get anxious when things don't go according to plan or when others act in ways he cannot predict, so he feels most at ease around those who act logically and keep their emotions aside. However, he does seem to be fond of Kalim's innocent joy and often attends his parties.

Adding to the curiosity of all the sudden new arrivals, Jeanne claims to be from a country called France, which nobody has ever heard of. She is a dedicated and spirited young lady who brightens up any room she enters. At first, she didn't want to join any club and even claimed it would interfere with her duties, but after being reassured, she decided to start an activity that would bolster the morale of her fellow students and inspire them to strive for even greater heights.

Great, now make a list for people whose hand-eye coordination is so fucked there aren't even scales for it for a various combination of chronic illnesses, disabilities, burn-outs, etc. and who can't afford a drawing tablet with stabilization tools or super sensitive touch-pad or mouse or even a laptop that can run most art programs that would actually help us with any of that!

Because my whole life, people like you have been telling me that I just needed to try harder, that I just wasn't practicing enough, that saying I couldn't simply meant I never gave it an honest attempt. Artists deserve to be respected for all the work they put into learning their craft, just like any other craft. But at the same time, it is important to recognize how ignorant saying stuff like "EVERYONE can learn!" actually is.

And before you completely misconstrue what I'm trying to say, I'm not defending using AI instead of putting in effort. All I'm saying is that things are a lot more nuanced and just because you were able to learn how to draw to be satisfied doesn't mean everyone is. I'm never gonna be an athlete or a rocket scientist or an artist – none of that means I didn't try or that I should be put in the same brackets as people who refuse to.

The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.

"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.

"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.

"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.

"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.

"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.

"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.

"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.

"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.

Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.

📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.

For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.

So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.

I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.

"It isn't often that I meet one of your kind playing butler."

Kevin's hand freezes on the door handle as that silky smooth voice reaches his ear. He already knows who he's going to find once he turns, so he takes his time – slides the key into the lock, turns, waits for the click. Each action deliberate and patient, like he has time. Like his nerves aren't on fire.

"I don't believe this is the room you've been assigned." He speaks matter-of-factly as he carries the fresh sheets over to the closet, folding them with unerring precision. If there is one thing Dantalion and the rest are good for, it's teaching him to keep his peace while pestered by demons.

Sebastian moves behind him almost soundlessly, slipping a hand under his arm and taking a firm hold of his chin. He tilts his head closer to himself, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "Don't be like that, now. If I wanted to hurt William, I would've already done so. I'm behaving, aren't I~?"

What is it with demons and their utter disregard for personal space? Kevin carries on as though he isn't being tenderly caressed by a demon, not bothering to even try to break free. That could get mistaken for aggression way too easily. "Indeed, how kind of you. Would you like a reward for that? Though I'm afraid we are out of dog treats."

He almost expects the demon to get offended but Sebastian actually chuckles before stepping back, allowing him to continue his work relatively unmolested. Still, he can feel those piercing eyes boring into the back of his head. Silence stretches between them until his laundry basket is empty and he heads for the door again.

Only then does the demon speak, casual as though nothing of importance is going on. "I've been wondering," and there is that presence that makes the hair on the back of his neck stand on ends, even despite all his millennia of dealing with demons, "who you were, and why you might be willing to take such a humiliating assignment. I figured maybe you were so weak you simply had no choice. But..."

Kevin sighs. He doesn't have time to play games to satisfy a demon's curiosity – not when he is still the only proper staff in the house. He finally turns to face their guest, crossing his arms over his chest. "Does your master know you consider your assignment beneath you? Or is your comment just supposed to get a rise out of me?"

"Oh but our situations are quite different." Sebastian's eyes are glowing that crimson red reminiscent of blood and wine and the sweetest forbidden fruit, his shadow stretching until it's taken over most of the room. "My master knows what I am. His restrictions are merely a challenge for me."

His smirk makes Kevin uncomfortable but he doesn't show weakness. Doing so would be as good as letting him win. Demons truly are such foul beasts... He narrows his eyes, not letting the shadows take any more of a hold in the mansion. "In other words, this whole contract is nothing but bread and circuses to you. Seeing as I am part of neither, I struggle to see why you insist on bothering me."

The demon stalks closer to him again, caging him against the door with a strong hand. His other comes up to tilt Kevin's chin up, meeting his eyes with a cocky grin. "I still find that better than a fool putting on a charade for nothing. Or were you that desperate to get away from Michael?"

Kevin's frown grows sharper, not quite pleased with the implications. But Sebastian doesn't seem bothered – quite the opposite, if anything. His face draws closer, lips almost ghosting a touch over Kevin's, his voice a low rumble. "I may not have a confessional to preside over anymore but should you need a little punishment, I could grant it to you all the same. Would that make you feel better about what you're doing, Uriel?"

He refuses to give the demon the satisfaction of seeing just how tempting that offer is. As the one responsible for punishing mortal sins, he's seen more than his fair share of pain – and the relieved atonement it can bring. But there is no way it could ever be enough for him. He doesn't doubt that Sebastian knows. There is no way he's uncovered his identity but hasn't heard of the time he invaded Hell all by his lonesome, all to look for one particular soul. The offer is little more than mockery of his former status.

"I like that look on you, Uriel," Sebastian releases his face, holding a finger to his lips, "stay just like that and there will be no problems between us. I might even keep you company when you get too lonely again in a few short decades."

And then he is gone, like he was never there in the first place. Kevin finally allows himself to release the breath he didn't even know he was holding. William is safe, he reminds himself. While he cannot fully understand why, he knows he trusts Sebastian's words. The demon has no interest in William, at least not for as long as his own contract is in place. As for what happens after that...

Looking at the back of his own hand, at the holy arrow gently glowing there when he focuses his powers, he knows he doesn't have much to worry about. Demons who can resist his power can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Demons whose maw he wouldn't reach into to protect William don't exist. And nothing else matters.

The tea was good enough but Amon's eyes kept drifting elsewhere. Namely, to the boy sitting across from him, sipping from his own cup and looking all refined and so. damn. cute. They haven't taken human forms in centuries, so he'd forgotten the details of Mamon's appearance. Namely, the way his cheeks chubbed up when he took a bite of the desserts they bought to go with the tea, the small twitches in his hair, remnants of their bat ears, how his eyes sparkled at the delicious scone melting on his tongue...

Amon leaned over the table, tilting Mamon's head to look at him, and Mamon, the tease that he was, leaned right into that touch, closing his eyes with a soft smile. The dark-haired demon felt overwhelmed at the sight. So damn adorable! And he was the demon of love, so ignoring it would just go against his nature.

He pulled Mamon over closer, gushing over him as he patted his hair, peppering kisses all over his face. Mamon giggled, and that only made the whole thing even more stimulating. Amon's fangs snagged on the slightly flushed skin of Mamon's cheek, gently biting on it. It was soft and plump, reminding him of mochi or one of those Slavic filled pastries. He didn't bite hard, just enough to make sure Mamon would feel it. A squeal responded to him, followed by a happy chitter.

"You... You're so darn cute-!" He mumbled, fingers curling in Mamon's hair and ruffling it more harshly, pulling gently. And when he received no struggle in return, he only redoubled his efforts.

Another posh chuckle and Mamon was suddenly returning the favor, squishing his cheeks with his hands and rubbing their noses together. "You are aware we have the same face, right~? Are you just trying to flatter yourself?"

"We aren't completely the same though, are we?" Amon responded to the tease in kind, sliding his hands from Mamon's hair and to his neck, pressing down on the pulse point there and delighting in the soft gasp it made Mamon let out. "For example, you are much more sensitive here~. I remember that much even now."

"Perhaps so," Mamon recovered quickly, resting a knee on the table and pressing it against Amon's thigh, "and you are here~."

The air between them was quickly getting hot and slightly stifling. Still, Amon moved his leg, Mamon's knee pressing a little bit higher. "Actually, it's up here~ Maybe I should re-teach you how to love properly?"

A hand suddenly landed on the table next to them, a tall shadow falling over their forms. "AMON! MAMON! Either help me out or get lost!" Dantalion was probably still pissed they didn't let him enjoy the War of Roses with the Elector. Although... they did get a bit carried away. Amon glanced beneath them at the now crumpled piece of paper. Some important business, no doubt.

But before he could do the responsible thing and offer his help, there was a pull at his hand. Mamon had already got off the table, tugging him along as he winked. "Let us not bother master Dantalion now. He has important duties that really cannot wait anymore. And you... well, you've got some teaching to do~."
