So as much as I hate to look this deeply into a sexual joke, uh- In Strange Noises, Benjamin says the noises he hears sound similar to the ones he hears from his parents' room, specifically on his dad's birthday. Carrying this logic over to the scene with Locomotion and Not-Clarissa (i really gotta give her a name), in regards to Loco doing 'other things' loudly, Not-Clarissa clarifies those things happen "Only on my birthday". So she's trans right? Unless I've deeply misunderstood the context, which is possible. Either way, though, I'm adding it to my headcanons

As an Astral Plane Theory believer, Bard with a Scar has fucked with me since the day it came out because a dnd fantasy universe is so vastly different in my mind from the general sfthverse. So I'm at the crossroads of 3 options.

Make Alan and Frankey Ditch's dnd characters (idea taken from somewhere else in the fandom) so they can still 'exist' but not fuck with my timeline (most likely option, but still unsatisfying to me. Also unsure if they'd be the kind of people to play dnd or not)

Put them in the universe anyway because they're good characters and setting them aside as fictional characters doesn't feel right, but then having to deal with the universal implications of that

Ignore/not include them at all, which goes against how I see the theory in general

I gotta talk more about the recent longforms on here (recent = literally anything past Nan, I'm aware of my own biases)

Forever obsessed with the end of Marigolds, Bluebells, and Hugh, specifically how Tom and Luke are literally fighting for the audience's attention. Luke's meant to be in the background but he's dying too dramatically, so Tom stands directly between him and the audience. Unfortunately for Tom, Luke's not a quitter, so instead of giving up, he just goes "alright guess I'll just throw my arms/branches around you and slowly kill you then. That works" absolute icons, both of them

Their dad is 30 in the show, and thus 15 himself when his oldest son was born (and 22 for the youngest). No frickin wonder they got messed up priorities and only see the kids as little sports extensions of themselves. They weren't even adults when they became parents and are perpetually stuck in that mindset.

Sorry Janae you're a little early for calling your parents marriage a "middle aged" relationship (typically 40). lol

Astral Plane Theory note

I don't think I fully mentioned this in a previous Astral Plane Theory post, but I don't think it's possible to die while you're there. Locomotion and the Emcee/Wilhelm duo? Timeless entities, and Wilhelm canonically comes back to life when he's killed. The passengers on the train? Once human and confirmed to still be conscious in a sense, therefore not dead. If you enter a realm in the Astral Plane, either you're lucky and escape (like Benjamin and his dad), or you're doomed to a maddening eternal life (if you could even call that a life)

Thinking about Locomotion again..

You know how, because all of the train cars were once human, they still canonically have their own thoughts and opinions? Yes, it makes it more fucked up of a situation, but you know what else is canon? Locomotion knows what those thoughts/feelings are. He's the one who says the carriages "don't like having people inside them".

So I've started to imagine he has a medium-like sense when it comes to his train. Like he can at least sense the general aura/emotions of the carriage he's currently in, but likely is also able to hear faded voices from time to time. Sometimes it's screams, sometimes the sound of children's sobs. Most of the time it's the prayers and begging of children to be let off the train, to be able to go home and to see their families again, to even remember the faces of their parents, because even though they don't remember their previous lives, they know deep in their being that there's someone they long to see again. Someone that would make them feel safe..

Every one of these voices goes unacknowledged.

I'm not sure why I didn't talk about this when it came out, but the ending of I Don't Want To Visit Grandma leaves me with some thoughts. Number one of course being, does Frankie just. have wings now? Can he hide them or are they just always there? Is he just gonna go back to school after break like nothing happened, except now he inexplicably has wings? Will the other kids think it's super cool or will they think he's a freak? I have so many questions about this kid and his future-
