😔 Armored Core 6: a win for Souls fans, a loss for mech fans
#damn... i guess im so dead i dont even feel disappointment in things anymore... but#i hoped it would have substance. not just a dodge and chip fest#surprisingly i didnt even get stuck on balteus#but after the c spider im like.. yeah... im done#only 3 attacks but 1500000 hp so you have to dodge those 3 attacks for 20+ minutes unless you switch to the heaviest weapons in the game#many weapons not even usable because their total ammo cant deal more damage than its health#this isnt game design guys....#sekiro spoiled me i havent played another fromsoft game that comes close in coherency of game design#enemies and levels and mechanics all played off each other#all other fromsoft games seem to just give you a dodge and say “you can avoid all damage so it doesnt really matter what else happens”#ac6 movement is sublime though.... too bad most arenas are too small and claustrophobic to let you make use of it#mechs are literally tank-fighterjet hybrids. unless they use a sword theyre built for 100'-10mi range. not 5'-100' range#damn 😔#i want to play a real mech game#im not even a mech fan but i want to play games as them#and not games where you just control a chatacter with a mech model. a game where you actually feel like youre piloting a 20 ton machine

Could be better#Honestly wish this game wasn't a mish-mash of horror movie tropes and references and instead something actually unique and serious#I hate seeing so much potential wasted#Things that could've saved this game for me: Third person. Mia protagonist escaping the house. Focusing more on the B.O.W shit#Killing off Ethan and making that the point of strength for Mia. Making Mia and Zoe partners and focusing on that dynamic#Focusing on whatever the fuck Lucas was up to pre-game and during the main game rather then in barely played dlc#Focusing on the murders/the connections/etc rather then just. Not doing that#Actually having varied enemy designs!!!! not 2 types of goo creature are we serious bro#What happened to the creative and awesome creature designs from the 28 odd other games!!!!#Heres a better premise for you guys: Mia Winters a morally grey protagonist was abducted while pregnant. Giving birth to eveline#eveline was taken and experimented on becoming E-001 and Mia stays out of obligation and wanting to one day save her daughter#while in transportation shit goes wrong. Eveline escapes. They wash up in the bayou like in the daughters DLC. Mia at this point#Has almost given up on her daughter and tries to warn the bakers before being incapacitated by Evie. This sparks the partnership between her#and Zoe. Mia is infected and a game mechanic has you having to fight the infection with special items like healing but seperate#Clancy and the Deputy have more screentime. Clancy buys Mia escape time when shes found by margarite escaping the main house.#He gets dragged into Lucas' den and found later by her burned to ash a la og events. Mia escapes into Old house and goes to vaccine stuff#Zoe is based in the trailer and acts as a sort of merchant character slash rebecca in re1 where she heals your infection and her own#She gets kidnapped/Lucas part then you find clancy dead/Zoe captured and boss fight Jack. Then choose between zoe and you#Mia choosing Zoe is the good ending and you get rescued by JILL instead of Chris at the end#Hows this sound chat. I can add more details but I think its a better story then the clunky one in 7 that relies#Too much on troupes/fear and not enough on substance

evolution of starsaints kiddos. first was from around 2021 . i wanted to give them a greater difference in color pallete and shape. my least favourite iteration of them is the 2nd because i can't get over the fact that they literally look identical, my same face syndrome was terminal back then

Design; 5/10 - I love all of the bulborb designs, but this one is probably my least favorite. It's the base on that all of the others are based on, and it feels unfair to have it the same as the ?? Magma one ?? I think that's what it's called. At it's core, I think bulborb does have a pretty unique and recognizable design, and it still looks nice to me :). My one issue is how do his puny little legs support his MASSIVE body
Effectiveness/Purpose; 8/10 - one of the first enemies you encounter, and is a nice introduction to the combat system. It's red back gives you a indicator of where it's best to attack, and his huge mouth and little fangs is a good warning sign. Overall it's a good enemy for new players and still a threat throughout the game if paired with other enemies or if set up alone correctly.
OVERALL; 7.5/10 - are pikmin really a healthy dietary choice ?

so wait, since i was just reminded of the recorder thing donna talked about in the giggle, i now have a question for uk ppl: do yall learn the recorder in school? like in a music class? and like how much do yall have music class over there?
#this is a very interesting topic for me as a music educator from the us#ik a guy from ireland and he said there was no music class in schools for him and like not the same country BUT same island#(as northern ireland. not the others in the uk but still)#and its so wild and fascinating music education is a fascinating field and the way we do it in the us seems to be largely vvv unique to us#for clarification on how things are different so ppl have a better idea on how to answer my question lol:#in the us music class is standard in elementary schools and most places have general music until abt 5th/6th grade (year 6/7)#(general music = basics- music games learn recorder SOME notation-reading; often classroom instruments eg boomwhackers claves maracas#orff instruments if you're lucky/from a school district that isnt poor. also some world music)#its less standardized after that and not every school will have music after middle school but concert bands and choirs are both huge here#choirs start right on the heels of general music classes (sometimes start earlier + students elect to be in choir instead of general music)#bands USUALLY start in 4th grade (year 5) but sometimes can be later 5th/6th (year 6/7) or even 7th (year 8) (WAY less common)#depends on the state generally 4th is most common i think (choirs start at around the same time i think so probs 4th but choir isnt my area#orchestras are weird bc theyre a lot less common but can commonly start younger bc of one of the big approaches to music ed (suzuki method)#so like maybe 3rd grade (year 4) maybe 4th w/ band (year 5) but i have a friend who teaches at a private school#& said they have 1st/2nd graders (year 2/3)!! orchestra is also not my area though#also marching bands: vv common! usually just in hs (starting 9th grade / year 10) bc it supports the football team at games#but starting in 8th grade (year 9) is also common (sometimes even 7th / year 8)#theres two different styles: collegiate/show band and competition. former is very rah rah pop music etc; competition is more abstract#show bands are clearly designed to entertain whereas competition is designed to be more impressive and tell a story#so more impact moments abstract shapes/lines on the field and has movements - opener ballad closer (fast-slow-fast)

#sorry its been so long .........#(isnt sorry bc im not obligated to post anything but its more the spirit of the statement)#but boy. its been a yr . i miss my wife (liam)#i cant actually remember much of the beginning of it but i had a fulltime job over the summer then went to college lost access to my meds#finally came home and then got covid near immediately#so . its been a while#i still draw them all here and then but its been a while#esp since i did get soer into a funny game abt a bird#(@tapestryundone if anyones curious lol ive been posting there ever since my brain lost steam to do anything productive#due to the aforementioned loss of meds)#(im trying so hard to skirt the title of the game since these r the tags. and i dont wanna sound like a tiktoker putting all the censors in#or smth)#but. i miss those guys#i need to order the amelia plush soon while i can now that i can think again#but ya. i hope to come back here someday. i need to get back to objects in general#but now ive so many commitments to my other blog and i dont wnna abandon those#and external assistance is going to need. so much reworking. good lord#i think abt it sometimes and become distraught LMAOOO#Im a very obsessed w canon compliance kinda thing#which is funny. considering the animal limb thing#but tbqh i always felt the animal limb thing was much more of a hc than smth that actually went against canon#i hc that the stick limbs are in object culture a general shorthand for limbs that skirt the actual commitment to individual designs#that objects would draw objects that way in cartoons a la human cartoons giving characters rubber limbs or gloves or smth#just a visual quirk to simplify art. which is basically was the shows do from a meta standpt i guess#i just added extra steps#ANYWAY THAT WAS A TANGENT#pt is hiiiiiii i miss objects...#this is at the forefront of my brain rn for . very specific reasons#(reasons extremely visible on my general community sideblog HAHA)#(warning that im being pretty negative in a weird way on that blog abt a diff show. as a heads up)

thinking about all of the wonderful book witcher designs that i’ve seen from fanartists across decades of fandom (i.e., way before i joined the fandom) and how different everyone’s designs are, yet how they all are so similar because we’re all inspired by the same descriptions, we’re all working with the same text. the distinguishing features come from creating based upon our personal interpretations and imaginations, which are unique to us. and yet all images, in all of their differences, are the same character, the same description, the same text
#like its no matter if you want to draw something influenced by the games or even netflix or whatever but to me it is so fcking beautiful#when an artist just draws based on a text description and isnt influenced by any pre-existing design for that specific character#and then thinking about all the different interpretations of such a character that ive seen#its like all the same guy (or girl) but different minds thinking alike and it makes me feel so happy and good to exist#as part of like a community thats bustling with ideas and artists and different takes#lol it doesnt have to be the witcher i think any art based on something literary is really cool because writing as a medium has no images#so its up to the artist to decide and interpret based on their text#like for instance illustrated manuscripts from the middle ages depicting like ancient greek myths but everyone is dressed in period fashion#txt

Woooo I actually did a sprite edit!! Here’s my Pokémon self-insert!

SO pretty much the story is just Black & Whites story but with me as the protag instead of Hilda/Hilbert. Friends with Bianca and Cheren and when we turn 14 we get our pokemon! (I chose 14 instead of 10 bc the protags seem older than 10) so the whole storys the same as the games and after N leaves eventually during some point in the 2 years hes gone I become Champion of Unova. (I found out being the Champion that I don’t really…Like being the Champion but I’m stuck with it)
And Black 2 and White 2 everythings the same except I’m champion instead of Iris but after N comes back I either retire or Iris beats me and she becomes champion. Then me and my family vacation to Alola!!!! And the storys the same for sun and moon (again just me replacing the protag for Sun & Moon)

#FORGOT to mention I become the 1st Champion of Alola too. #mayor talk#'wheres marth/lucina/corrin' i already know what they look like fhskdfhgsk#marth is the easiest lord to draw ever [close to micaiah] and lucina has been one ive drawing for a very long time#and even tho i dont draw corrin's default design often.... trust me bro i got this#anyway im kinda bummed full body character art for all the side characters isnt really a thing anymore#for fates i kinda get it cuz that cast was so big and probably a lot of needless work [hell im happy with the character art we got anyway]#but three houses had a teeny tiny cast comparatively and only the main guys + the characters in the ashen wolves story#+ some characters that were featured as spirits in smash [including rhea i think!]. and only their academy designs#[which makes sense but like the war phase designs make the 3h cast look like a proper band of fe characters and not generic students]#and engage.... bro!! i'm actually the saddest about that game's lack of art cuz mika pikazo's style is sooo good😭#would have been so cool to at least see the emblems illustrated cuz marth's art is sooo yummy#but yeah the little art we got of the alears and the royal jobros feels like such a tease cuz those were so nice to look at... SIGH#anyway i rant about this because ive resorted to using the art of the characters in heroes instead#and timerra and fogado are the only royal friends not properly in heroes yet. not their base designs anyway#IS!!! Day 4 was Re-design! I uh... had a lot of trouble thinking up this prompt, since we've already covered my two considerably old ocs who would count. But then I remembered I found a crusty old concept design for Nihil the other day, so thought I'd draw a line-up!
