Starlight Dream - Chapter 42
I can’t believe she just ditched us without a word!” Seina said, annoyed.
“...”
“Right?” Seina said, unsure what she’d agreed to. Unlike Emiyo, Seina had little clue about what thoughts ran through Chō’s head. Or did the magical girl speak so quietly that Seina hadn’t heard?
“She does what she wants. Who cares?” Emiyo’s partner said with a shrug. To emphasize this, Nyx flew out a nearby window and vanished.
“They both seem convinced they shouldn’t like you.” Her bodyguard said. “Hard to change a mindset like that.”
“At least you like me, right?” Seina gave Chō an encouraging smile.
“...”
“Yeah.” Seina gave a weak smile, unsure what that meant.
“You’ll turn her around,” Aiko said, giving Seina’s hand a comforting squeeze. Mr. Kiyojiro remained unconvinced but didn’t voice his opinion. Colten only shrugged.
“Well, whatever. We’ll meet up with her later.” Seina said, forgetting the other magical girl from now. They enjoyed a bowl of ramen before joining Takako to hang out. Her friend had suggested they visit a new mangaka wanting feedback on his work. It was another welcome sign normality had returned to their world.
Much to their collective surprise, this drew Chō’s attention. It seemed she dearly wanted to join them. With a shrug, Seina nodded in assent.
---
“It isn’t much, just some doodles.” An abashed teenager said, his face showing a half-grown scraggly mustache. He gestured to his collection of storyboards amongst the clutter of his room. It showed a young girl in a fanciful dress fighting an army of horrors with only a magic wand and a trusty fairy.
When Seina recognized the similarities, Izumi flushed. “I suppose I got some inspiration from an outside source.”
“It’s pretty cool!” Seina said, eyes alight at the half-sketched magical girl.
“It’s something.” But Takako sounded impressed despite her tone.
“...” Only Chō seemed unimpressed, frowning. Was she offended by a story about a heroic magical girl? Much to Seina’s surprise, Chō stretched something on her notepad. When she’d finished, she presented it to Izumi.
“Perfect! Just what I envisioned!” The man nodded with enthusiasm. “You’re a great drawer. I’m still learning. By myself, it is difficult to accomplish much.”
“...” But Chō pointed at his storyboard, giving an enthusiastic smile. Seina blinked, unsure what the other magical girl meant.
“I think she likes his storyboarding,” Takako said, filling in the gaps.
In confirmation, Chō nodded her head emphatically. She encouraged Izumi to continue. The two ‘chatted’ further about his manga ideas. It soon became awkward as Seina felt like the odd girl out, leaving them to their conversation.
“Seems like someone made a friend,” Takako joined her by the railing.
“Yeah, she did,” Seina said, smiling. While somewhat disappointed it wasn’t her, she was happy for Chō. She wondered how long it’d been since Chō had a normal friend?
When they rejoined the pair, Chō was helping Izumi storyboard a fight scene between the heroine and a garish young man with white face paint and poofy glam hair. Seina also noticed the heroine had become heroines, plural.
“Nice setup you have here,” Seina said.
“With Chō on art and me on storyboarding, my manga’s really coming together,” Izumi said, giving an enthusiastic smile.
“...”
“Yeah, I know. Maybe you don’t like the main bad guy, but trust me, people will love him!” Izumi replied. “In return, I promise to let you design all the monsters he’ll be throwing at our heroines.”
“...” This seemed to satisfy Chō, who nodded and gave a thumbs up. She seemed in her element, smiling more often than usual. Seina hoped the girl had finally found a purpose in her life beyond Starlight Dream. Who would have guessed someone could regain their humanity through art?
---
“These fools haven’t a clue what’s coming,” Jin sneered, shutting the blinds. Still with Emiyo and Chō aiding them, they might stand a chance.
A part of her longed to join them, instead of lurking in the shadows like a vampire. With Miko gone, an inexplicable loneliness had washed over her. It was like she’d lost a part of herself somehow. Only an ever-blackening void remained.
Were fairies connected even more to their partners than was commonly believed? Joined not only at a magical level but a spiritual one? What nonsense. She didn’t even like Miko! Why should she care that the magical girl was gone?
A giggle caught her attention. She watched as Chō showed her drawings to her new friend. The smile seemed odd on the usually stoic magical girl’s face, appearing almost like a different person. Odd. With the Devil Princesses gunning for your throat, laughter seemed a distant memory.
“No, I don’t need them.” Jin ruthlessly tossed aside her loneliness and melancholy, hardening her heart to blackened steel. The late Ume was right. With them at war, sentimentality was an unaffordable weakness. She was an instrument of death now.
Besides, they’d hate her once they learned of her crime. They’d call her an unforgivable monster and cast her away. But Jin could live with that. She’d chosen this path and regrets were for fools. It wasn’t like anything had changed, anyway. From her childhood, she’d been the outcast, bullied for not being cruel enough, and forced to hide her true self from everyone.
With a gleeful smile, Jin channeled unbelievable magic into her paw. It glowed with dark power, reflecting her darker heart. But with this power, Jin could be her true self, no longer the cowering waif.
I don’t need friends or a partner. I have something better. And it would lead her to victory. This brought comfort, boarding over the void in her heart and her doubts. Power was the great equalizer.
“Huh?” Jin froze as Seina’s partner suddenly turned towards the window. With her power, she found the best path to avoid detection. Just in time, Jin ducked behind a wooden post as Colten glanced in her direction.
“Is something the matter?” Seina asked.
“It’s nothing.” But Colten kept his frown. Had he somehow detected her? They shared the same power. After another glance out the window, he returned to whatever he’d been doing.
“I can’t dally around here much longer.” While Seina and her crew were dangerous, they weren’t her first priority. It wouldn’t help to linger. Instead, she needed to go on the offensive and hurt Starlight Dream. Rivers of blood would flow through its streets.
But what should be her approach? Guerrilla attacks like her late friend Ume? No, that wasn’t her style. She preferred a flashier, more direct approach. Jin wanted to send fear through her enemies.
She’d go to Starlight Dream and strike at their weakest points. Her power would allow her to find the exact points that would crumble the most. Soon magical girls would learn to fear the species they’d once subjugated.
After a last glance at Seina, Jin summoned a portal. But she paused, pondering a possibility. Against the Devil Princess, an ally would be helpful. Colten had the same type of power as her. Could she convince him to betray his former master and join her? But after some consideration, Jin shook her head.
No. Colten had already gotten brainwashed into believing Seina’s pathetic attempts at pacifism. He’d never understand the joys of true freedom. Like many other fairies, the chains that bound him brought him comfort. He’d never break free.
While it brought Jin a pang of sadness, it only lasted a moment. With her mission so critical, sentimentality would only weaken her. She needed to prepare herself to win at any cost. Her partner’s death already put her on this path. There wasn’t any turning back. She stepped through the portal, pushing aside what she’d left behind.
---
“Why did you call me?” Reiko said, beyond annoyed. Seina was still lurking somewhere, causing trouble and disrespecting the Devil Princess. Reiko knew she’d been close to finding her, only a few universes away from discovery. But then Mei had sent their secretary to retrieve her right before Reiko reaped the fruits of her efforts. “This better be good.”
“Yuuka Tsujikawa is dead.” Kaguya said without preamble. It was a rarity for the Devil Princess to be wide awake, though her partner still napped on her shoulder.
Perched on her ebony throne, Mei nodded in assent, her lips in a grim line behind her mouth mask. “The four have become three.”
Reiko starred, stunned by this news. It was impossible. The only threat to them was the Wicked Queen. Or so Reiko had believed. Her throat was dry as she spoke. “How?”
“She joined you to search for this Seina girl, right? The answer is obvious.” Kaguya replied.
“Her? How?! She was weak! A pathetic whelp fighting against giants!” Reiko fumed, beyond furious at Yuuka’s stupidity. It was like dying from a gnat bite.
From her throne, Mei stood. “She’s getting more dangerous by the day. We must accelerate our plans. Nothing can interrupt them.”
To this, Reiko rolled her eyes. The plan had always been their leader’s obsession. To her, its promise seemed fanciful. But Mei was determined to complete it, whatever the cost, even if it was them.
“Whatever. I’ll look harder. The entire sector will be a wasteland when I’m finished.” Reiko cracked her knuckles, smiling with pleasure. Destroying the entire sector seemed a much simpler solution, anyway. She enjoyed seeing universes burn.
“Stay,” Mei said, putting her foot down. “We can’t allow anything to threaten the plan. If Seina can destroy a Devil Princess, she can defeat you.”
“So you say,” Reiko said, scowling. What nonsense, she was far more powerful than Yuuka.
“Besides, trouble is brewing here, too,” Kaguya said, finally speaking. “Dissent is gathering among our followers. Someone leaked info about Yuuka’s death. It’ll become quite the hassle if it grows into total rebellion.”
“So? Let them. They can’t do anything.” Reiko said, already impatient.
“No! They’re vital to the plan.” Mei said, her voice becoming firmer. “With Seina becoming a greater threat, we can’t afford to lose more. We need them to cause more suffering! What we’ve cultivated so far won’t be enough!” Passion and frustration crept into their leader’s voice, showing rare emotion.
Reiko supposed she couldn’t blame her. The Hall of Suffering’s destruction was an enormous setback, releasing energies they’d gathered for centuries.
“Then you do it, great leader,” Reiko said, not hiding her sarcasm. Mei bristled, insulted by her fellow Devil Princess’s tone. Her pride would never allow such an insult or open threat to her leadership. Like Reiko cared.
To stop the growing tension, Kaguya stepped in. “The damage has been done. But it matters little. With our goal so close, we only need to reach out and grab it.”
Pacified, Mei nodded. “And I suppose you have some suggestions?” It seemed she usually did.
“Mass planetary destruction,” Kaguya said like she’d just ordered a cup of tea.
“Explain.”
“Simple. Slowly cook a planet until it’s a scorched ruin. The panic, pain, and fear it causes will be sufficient for our needs.” Kaguya said.
“It’s that easy?” Reiko said, marveling. A child could accomplish that. “Why didn’t we do that sooner?”
“Because, while it’s a quick burst, its output will be thousands of times less than general suffering gathered over centuries,” Kaguya explained.
“Makes sense. You can’t farm suffering from a dead person.” Mei stroked her chin, liking the plan. “Do it.”
“But what about Seina?” Reiko asked.
“Leave her.” Behind her mask, Mei smiled. “We’ll allow her to hide. While she’s sheltering in some hole, we’ll enact Operation: Extinction. If we leave Sector 8 last, she’ll never know until it’s too late.”
“Really?” Reiko frowned, displeased. While the death of trillions upon trillions sounded fun, a certain magical girl had humiliated her! “I want Seina dead!”
“Patience, my friend,” Kaguya said. “That day will come soon enough. Just a little longer.”
“Fine.” Reiko rolled her eyes, still unhappy. Then an evil smile appeared on her lips. Seina was a sentimental fool. How emotionally devastated would she be when she learned about this tragedy? What if Reiko made her experience every death she’d been unable to save?
“I like how you think!” Her partner said, joining her mirth.
“I’ll give the general order,” Mei said. “And it gives us an excuse to round up any possible rebels.”
This brought a chuckle to Reiko’s lips, wondering how the Wicked Queen would have reacted to Operation: Extinction. It’d be fun ruining everything she’d worked towards. Reiko rubbed her right arm, re-experiencing the phantom pain from their first fight centuries ago. Like Seina, she’d humiliated Reiko too, calling her an insane maniac unworthy of the magical girl’s name. And debts were something Reiko refused to allow.
“Come on, Jiji! Let’s start the extinction event!”
---
“And this will work?” Mei asked, watching Reiko leave.
“Trust me. It will produce suffering we’ll need. I’ll guarantee it.” Kaguya replied.
But behind her mask, Mei frowned. This reckless plan would cost many lives. If it failed, it seemed doubtful the cosmos would ever recover. If they failed, the centuries of pain she’d cause would be for nothing.
“You still have your doubts? Trust me. The fruit of your plans will soon ripen.” Kaguya said, whispering into her leader’s ear. “When the Pin of the Cosmos collapses, you’ll get your greatest wish.”
Mei nodded. Her wish was all that mattered. It had to be worth it.
“But to asway your doubts. I will oversee the process myself. With my ability, I can optimize the suffering we harvest.”
This brought a rare smile to Mei’s lips. With Kaguya’s ability to manipulate timelines, they’d gather the most suffering possible. It would cost her, but it’d be worth it.
“Come, let’s check our progress,” Kaguya said.
Without a word, Mei joined her as they left the Devil Princess’s cathedral. As they passed, magical girls and fairies paused whatever they’d been doing to bow in respect. But Mei paid them little attention.
“Are you sure you can handle the task?” Mei asked, noticing how her fellow Devil Princess had sagged somewhat. It’d been decades since Kaguya had stayed awake this long.
“It’s a sacrifice worth taking,” Kaguya said over her shoulder. “One must never avoid what’s necessary.”
“Indeed.” And that included the death of countless trillions. All in the name of her greatest wish.
“I can handle it. Don’t you worry.” Kaguya said, giving a sly smile despite her droopy eyes.
Rage built in her chest as they arrived at the ruined remains of the Hall of Agony. Yes, Seina would pay dearly for this outrage. Their secretary nodded as they approached, waving her hand to create a stone archway from the rubble. Beyond the portal was a stairwell that led down, and their steps echoed as they traveled into its depths. Thankfully, the understructure hadn’t been as damaged as the surface. Though, the desecration was still visible if one peered close enough. But with their secretary’s power, it shouldn’t be a problem.
A distant howl echoed through the stairwell as they got deeper, the agony of countless souls. It heightened to an almost deafening level as they approached the main chamber.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Kaguya said, gazing in wonder at the orb that dominated the room. Connected to it was a familiar tower, its gray brick surface blackened by the exposure of the contents of the sphere. Cracks lined the Needle of the Cosmos’ surface, bricks crumbling in some areas.
Inside, black mist crashed like distant waves. It towered over Mei as she approached, gazing at her reflection as it swirled with the dark mist. Her mouth tightened when she noticed cracks across the sphere’s surface, damage from when the roof had collapsed on top of it. It’d been a miracle the crystal orb hadn’t shattered completely.
“Here to enjoy your dirty work?” A familiar fairy said. From a wall, Charity hung by chains. “How does it feel? Looking into the blackest part of the human condition? There is pain, despair and hopelessness.”
“That’s the mortal’s lot in life,” Kaguya said, shrugging. “They exist to live in pain. We’ve just put it to good use.”
“A monster like you would say that. What about you, Mei?” The fairy asked. “Charity remembers the days when you’d fought to protect people, tried to make a cosmos where they could smile without fear.”
“Those days have long since passed. That version of me died long ago.” Mei said without emotion. She wouldn’t have her motives second-guessed by anyone.
But the fairy insisted regardless. “It wasn’t your fault! What happend to…”
“Enough! The past is the past.” Mei said, interrupting the fairy.
“Yes, our friend here made her decision,” Kaguya added. “And how could she quit when we’re so close? You see it, don’t you? The moment of our victory?”
“The future can change! I see your destruction too!” But Mei noticed Charity spoke with less confidence with that last part.
“What? Are you expecting your Wicked Queen to save you?” Kaguya said, her tone mocking. “With my power, I’ll ensure that possibility never happens.”
Good. She was a problem they didn't need. Even if Seina possessed her magical wand, the odds of her resurrection were remote. She’d personally ensure nobody would ever find her body. And even if someone did there was the distinct possibility the ancient magical girl would be driven insane from isolation, a prisoner in her own body, helpless to affect anything. But Mei doubted that one. That girl was an unconquerable mountain. Thank goodness she was gone.
A sudden snap interrupted her musings, noticing that another crack had formed in the Needle of the Cosmos’ surface. Yes, it wouldn’t be long now. The Needle was crumbling, and she’d finally have the power to fulfill her greatest wish.
She sighed. Then this entire ordeal would be worth it.

💝Gifts To and From💝
A little fun thing about what the boys would give you and what you may give them too. As always spelling is bleh🤍
Request are always welcomed!
Part Two Part Three
🦈Kirishima🦈
Kiri wouldn’t force you to get crocs, but this man will Persuade you- loving of course. He doesn’t care what color you pick, as long as you like them!
Purple, yellow, green- Whatever!
I do feel like he’d buy you the little accessor though so both of you have matching ones. Because they've gotta sell little accessories of heroes for crocs!
So both of you wouldhave like the CrimsonRiot, a Rock, smiley faces, and stuff like that on yours crocs.
He’d think it’s Manley that you both have matching ones and that you got him a little heart for his crocs.
Kiris Lock Screen in a pic of you guys toe to toe both of you wearing croc with matching accessories.
He post it on all social pages, with the captions of:
“Love my pebble”
💣Bakugou💣
Kat would buy you a necklace. It’s simple and straightforward. It’s probably a thin chain with a small charm. More than likely something that’s similar to a firework, skull, grenade or explosion.
You’re his, ya dummy, and he’s marking you as such.
“Hey dumbass! Why aren't you wearing the necklace?”
“It’s right here KitKat!” you pull it out from under your shirt. Kat would scoff, walk up to you and readjust it, making sure the chain is in the right place.
“Keep it out, I want to show people the catch he got.”
He’d probably just keep buying you jewelry randomly. Like necklaces, brackets, rings, earrings. He doesn’t give a shit what you wear- as long as you’re wearing something he gave you.
I feel like somewhere along the lines you get him a necklace too. A simple one with a red fang on it. It’s small, pretty and won’t get in his way. When you give it to him, he’d scoffs and smiles. “Hey TeddyBear” he smiled and points to the exact same one he gave you- it’s hanging from your neck. A 3 year anniversary present.
“Huh. I guess that’s why I liked this one so much!” You chirp and kiss his cheek.
Nex day, you see him wearing it. And then the next and the next and so on.
You’re watching him on the TV, he’s battling some weak villain or something. He’s not wearing the necklace. Which is fine, it’s not a part of his hero costume and if it got thrown upward, the tooth on it could probably hit his face. Ouch.
But after the fight, during an interview, you notice his hands going into his pocket- not unusual- but his right hand is moving. What’s in his pocket? It looks like he’s thumbing something. He keeps breathing in and out as the reporters keep yelling stupid shit at him, the moment in his pocket becoming faster. What in the world?
When he finally breaks away, the reporters(people filming) catches him pulling out a tooth necklace from his pocket, holding it in palm.
⬛️Sero 🟨
Sero buys you clothes
Like the oversized comfy ones you can watch movies in. Probably have some cute graffiti food on them, like a ramen bowl!
Sero has similar style clothes and one of his favorite pictures of you two is both of you wearing baggy shirts with street food designs on them.
At some point in your relationship, he’s getting you a sports bra.
“Looks comfortable, plus it’s your favorite color.”
But that’s kinda small, I have a feeling this man doesn’t buy you his merch to wear, feels kinda embarrassed. So one day, like a year into dating, you buy his mercy, an oversized sweatshirt, and wear it to one of your ‘movie dates’ (you both stay at home, munch on popcorn, and watch a corny movie). His heart melts. His Home Screen is you in that sweet shirt.
You get him a sweatshirt that had this little onigiri in the corner, and on the back is this huge cartoon ramen bowl with your guy's favorite restaurant written under it. The place where he first asked you to be his girlfriend.
His fans end up catching him leaving the gym one day, and one ask him where he got his sweatshirt from-
“Oh, I’m not sure. My amar(love) got it for me. She may have had it custom made for me too.” He laughed, gesturing to his arms. His fans laugh but your heart flutters when you read about the encounter on his fam base later.
⚡️Denki⚡️
Denki would buy you hair stuff.
Dude gets the pain of accidentally eating your bangs when you move and would buy some cutely decorated berets. Probably some lighting bolt ones, and cat ones.
He’d also do a face mask and nails with you too.
His Home Screen is a pick of you laughing, wearing a face mask, a cat headband pushing your hair back, and a cucumber mid motion falling off your face.
Will call you and tell you he found a new nail polish color:
⚡️“Sunshine! I just got this new color called ‘Electric Love’!”
Your Home Screen is a pic of him wearing an orange cat hair pin you got him.
This man also wore it into a battle, forgetting to take it out since he’s always wearing it.
And if someone, a reporter or fan, asks about it, man has no shame to talk about how he wears them all the time. Yeah, he wear cats and butterfly hair pins, duck off.
⚡️“Oh! My Sunshine Nugget got it for me! We have matching ones too!”

tokyo revengers characters | what they do when you say 'i love you' for the first time
with g/n reader
warning: swearing, suggestive ish? making out idk, hint of manga spoilers?? if you've only seen the anime or you're only up to chapter 100 i wouldn't read some of these idk, tokyo revengers brainrot <3
takemichi: you two were coming back from chifuyu's pet shop, talking about possibly getting a pet together. he's talking about how chifuyu works really hard to take care of the shop with kazutora and you nod while listening, squeezing his hand a little. "and i'd love to get a pet with you y/n, whenever you want to!" "takemichi i love you," you blurted. he's stunned. he stares at you and he gets very flustered and red and he goes "are you serious??? like really you mean it???" and when you say yes he's absolutely delighted and he hugs you tight and tells you he loves you so so much. (he spins with you in his arms and you both fall over,,,,, but he refuses to let you bring it up)
mikey: you're tracing one of his tattoos as you lay on him. there's no words exchanged between the two of you but the silence is comfortable and you hum a bit. you find yourself staring at him and he glances at you. out of the blue you go "i love you." he doesn't react at first but then gives you a small smile. honestly you think you might've messed up especially since you had said it on instinct. but he's actually very happy to hear you say that and he lets you know by kissing your temple and holding you close. "i love you too," mikey quietly grumbled to which you found yourself smiling like an idiot.
draken: you were making dinner for the two of you and he had back-hugged you, asking how your day was. he told you he was going to shower and as he exited you went, "'mkay, i love you." he looks back at you and smiles at you so fucking lovingly. he adores you and the fact that you just told him you love him makes him really happy. he finds it cute how you blink at him after you realize what you just said but he hugs you tight and then pulls away to kiss your forehead and he tells you how much he loves you too and i just. (newest chapter took me out y'all)
mitsuya: you're looking through his designs, watching him work. you stare at him, and when he asks why you're looking at him the way you are, you respond with, "i love you so much." falls in love with you again. LIKE he's been in love with you for the past several months that you guys have been dating, finding himself loving you more every day that passes by. he stops his work, walks over, and kisses you. kisses you long and slow and passionately to let you know that he loves you too. when he pulls away, he holds your face close to his and breathlessly goes "i love you too."
hakkai: your cheek is smooshed against his back as he rides his motorcycle towards his place. he talks about how yuzuha has been asking to see you again. you listen to him speak and tap his back. "hakkai?" "hm?" "i love you." and he's taken aback and shocked. he doesn't know how to respond, despite the fact that he loves you and that you guys have been dating for several months. you ask if it was okay to say that and nods, realizing you probably can't see him shaking his head. "It's okay, i was just a little shocked. but i love you too okay? i always will." you hug him slightly tighter and smile, turning to give his back a quick endearing peck.
nahoya (smiley): you're watching him make you a bowl of ramen and he can feel you staring. "like what you see? ;D" he asks, watching you roll your eyes. "no you loser," you tell him. "i was just thinking about how much i love you but okay-" you realize he's just staring at you and you tilt your head at him a bit. "...what happened..." he snickers and sets your bowl in front of you, tilting your chin up with a finger. "you just told me you loved me." and he kisses you, turning to do the dishes. you flush and dig into your ramen to avoid talking to your boyfriend, but it burns your tongue and you have to sit there in embarrassment. (nahoya thinks u are very cute tho)
souya (angry): he's telling you about his day and how he wishes kids wouldn't think he's scary because he seems to be angry all the time. you're combing your fingers through his hair, nodding and verbally communicating with him to let him know you're listening intently. when he stops for a moment, you decide to speak. "well i hope you know that even though people might be intimidated by you, i love you okay?" you didn't even think about it much until souya looked up at you in shock and confusion. it finally clicks and your eyes widen and you start to profusely apologize. was it too early??? you two had been dating for a month and you weren't sure if it was too soon or not. "y/n don't be sorry," souya tells you, sitting up and taking your hand. "i love you too." you're relieved and you pull him into a hug. you nuzzle his neck as he smiles and rubs your back.
kazutora: you were in the car with him and on the way to your place so he could drop you off. you stare at him as he drives, making him glance over at you. " what's up babe?" he questions, reaching his hand over to hold yours. "you're just. pretty," you tell him, squeezing his hand and bringing it up to put his hand against your cheek. he smiles and gently squeezes your hand. once the two of you reach your place, he walks you up to the door and you hug him tightly, burying your face in his neck. "i love you kazu," you quietly say, nervous about his response. he pulls you closer and kisses the top of your head. "i love you too. so so much y/n, i hope you know that." and you pull away, smiling at your boyfriend as he leans in to kiss you one more time before he has to leave.
peh-yan: you're holding his hand as he leads you towards the amusement park. he's talking about how he wants to buy you cotton candy, take you up on the ferris wheel, and win you a big teddy bear. ryohei stops to look at the big teddy bears hanging up in the booth, asking you which one you want. you're too caught up in him to realize that he was even asking you something. "babe?" ryohei says, waving at you. "everything okay?" you nod, grinning before going, "yeah, i just love you a lot." he?? LITERALLY FUCKING TACKLES YOU. "RYO WHAT THE HELL" but he's too happy to even care and he hugs you tight. "i love you so so much y/n you don't even know." (EVERYBODY SHUTUP I LOV HIM)
pah-chin: pah is too busy arguing with peh-yan about something while you're making instant ramen for the three of you plus the kawata twins. ryohei had made the mistake of jokingly asking you to break up with haruki and dat him instead in which haruki got upset, nahoya doubled over laughing, and souya just sat there and watched. you march over to the bickering boys and you take your boyfriend's shoulders. "baby, i love you and i will never leave you okay? i would never do that to you." and everyone is just. silent. you realize what you've just said and you start feeling your face get hot. you watch as your boyfriend starts tearing up and nahoya starts laughing at him again. he hugs you tight and you hug him back, smiling. "i love you too y/n thank you so much" (souya and ryohei r just standing there pls)
chifuyu: you're watching chifuyu play around with peke j, a little stick with a feather dangling hovered above peke j's head. he's making noises as he plays with the cat, laughing and cooing the cat's name. as you watch, you laugh along with your boyfriend, going to lay on your stomach beside him. you rest your chin on your hand, your boyfriend giving you a quick 'hi angel' before going back to pet peke j. peke j purrsand you smile as chifuyu takes his phone out to take pictures. he's recording a video of peke j playing with a plushie the two of you gifted him and you watch chifuyu's eyes swell as he coos at the cat again. you crawl over to him and cup his face in your hands, smiling. "y/n?" "hm?" "what are you-" "i love you :)" and you kiss him and run with peke j following you out of curiosity. "y/N COME BACK."
baji: "babe we're gonna be late!" baji hollers as you pull on a hoodie. "and do you have a hair tie for me??" you hurry out to the front door, throwing your wrist out at your boyfriend since he makes you carry his supply of hair ties. "you're in such a rush keisuke, it's just boba with the guys," you tell him, adjusting your hoodie string. "i know but i told them we'd meet them there an hour ago-" "AN HOUR AGO??? KEI-" "I KNOW I KNOW CMON" he pulls you outside and you quickly lock the door, turning and taking his hand. "jeez it's raining," your boyfriend mutters, squeezing your hands. "let's go." "y/n hold o-" and you're running with him to the boba place a couple blocks away. the two of you are drenched and breathless as you guys run under the overhang of the boba shop and you realize your boyfriend didn't even tie his hair up. he's huffing and puffing, bent over with his hands on his knees. he looks up at you and goes "y/n we could've grabbed the umbrella....! y/n?" and you're staring at him. "god i love you so much," you mutter, going up to him. he???? grins and interrupts your sentence by kissing you.
muto: it's one of those days where the two of you are just at home, cuddling at home. he has his arms around you, watching you scroll through your phone. you decide to open up your snapchat, bringing your phone up so you can take a picture with him. "noo" he grumbles lowly, covering his face with his arm. "please my love?" you say, looking at him. "....... ok" you grin and hold your phone up from your lap again to take a picture. you take a series of them; the two of you smiling, him kissing your head, you sitting up more to kiss his cheek in one. as you're looking through them, you set the one of you two smiling as your lockscreen and the one of him kissing your head as your homescreen. while you stare at your homescreen, you feel your boyfriend hug you closer and you smile and look up at him. "i love you," you say, watching him smile a bit and kiss you really quick. "i love you too y/n"
rindou: he had asked you to help him dye his hair and you agreed even though you ended up having to buy him the bleach and dye smh but anyways. you get back home from work andyour boyfriend grins at you. "thank you for buying everything :D" "...mhm" and you both start setting up. he sits in a chair in the bathroom and you start bleaching his hair. "you know what you're doing princess?" "yeah i got it!" he??? smiles and hums. you're working around and you end uo standing in front of him, standing in between his open legs and you feel him looking at you. "yes?" "look at me princess" you step away and look down at your boyfriend, tilting your head. all he does is smile at you and you smile back, leaning down to kiss him. "i love you you loser," you laugh, reaching to continue bleaching his hair. "no no hold on look at me again-" you sigh and look at him again. "yes?" "i love you too :)" he puckers up for a kiss and you lean down to kiss him again.
ran: you're braiding his hair, listening to him talk about his day. he hums as you run your fingers though his hair before starting to braid it. "y/n?" "hm??" "can you undo my hair and run your fingers through it again?" "mhm!" and you do as he says, humming along to some random melody. he's looking back at you, smiling once you make eye contact with him. "pretty," he says out of nowhere. "stop ittt smh" "IM SERIOUS" and he gives you a little pout. you smile and kiss him, playing with his hair a little. "you make me really happy you know that?" you tell him, smiling. "i love you so much." ran stares at you, laughing and sitting up to hug you. "i love you too my sweet angel <3"
shinichiro: you ordered you and your boyfriend some lunch and you were going to his shop to see if he was free to eat with you. luckily for you he was! and he was also alone in the shop. and minutes later he has you sitting on the main counter, kissing you long and hard. the two of you are making out and you find yourself breathless as he pulls you closer to him by the hips. he mutters under his breath about how pretty you look and sound and you giggle, running a hand through his hair. "i love you," you tell him quietly, pressing your forehead against his. he smiles and kisses you, pulling away to reply with an "i love you too" before going back to kiss you again. (im in lovewith him so bad hello)
akashi: he was picking you up to take you on a date to get boba and go shopping. senju has been calling you about how he refused to bring her along and you laugh and explain it's a date only for her to say that you two better bring her along next time. when the two of you get to the boba shop, you insist on paying and you two quite literally race to give the cashier your card and the cashier is just like.. 'um' and unfortunately you lose the race and he pays. when you guys are drinking your boba, he gives you a smug smile and you pout. "boo that was unfair," you tell him, quickly nudging him. "c'mon you baby, i asked you out on the date," he says, grasping your hand. "...fine... you're lucky i love yo-" you stop and he looks at you. "hm?? what was that? i'm lucky you what?" "i said you're lucky i love you smh" and he quickly kisses you before putting an arm around your waist. "i love you too cutie <3" (SHUT UP I LOV WEHIM TOTOOOO)
wakasa: you came home from work, knowing very well your boyfriend was probably sleeping since you get home so late. you change into comfortable clothes and you lay in bed next to him with the lights still on, trying not to wake him. he ends up turning to wrap his arms around you, mumbling. you don't speak but you tangle your legs with his and smile to yourself. "welcome home baby," wakasa mumbles, rubbing your back. "tired from work?" you sigh and go, "yeah, aren't you tired?" "mhm, just wanted to wait for you." you get up on an arm and lean to kiss him, smiling. "well i'm back, let's go to bed." your boyfriend nods in agreement, reaching over to turn off the light. the two of you cling onto each other and he sighs in content. "goodnight angel," he tells you, kissing your head. "goodnight baby, i love you," you decide to reply with, earning a chuckle from him and a little, "love you too, pretty."
inui: he’s generally a nonchalant guy who doesn’t seem to show a lot of emotion, but around you he definitely smiles a lot more and he loves seeing you when you’re happy. you spent the night at his place and woke up earlier than you wanted so you decided to make breakfast for you and your lovely boyfriend :D you bring his breakfast to him, and you look at him for a bit as a he breathes softly. you tap his arm in which he automatically wakes up, blinking at you. “good morning,” he says, yawning shortly after. “what’s that smell?” you smile and lift your legs onto the bed so you’re sitting up next to him. “i made you breakfast ^^ eat up~” he smiles and kisses your cheek, watching you laugh at the tickle of his lips. he starts eating while you rest your head on his shoulder, taking note on how warm he is. it’s silent but it’s a very comfortable silence that sits in the room, so you go “i love you inui” while he’s taking a bite to see what he’ll say in response. he swallows, puts everything down, takes your hand, and says “i love you even more y/n, remember that okay?” (I MISS HIM SO BAD LIKE i just miss seeing him thats all lllike if i could read tokyo rev for the first time again i would)
kokonoi: you were wearing one of his hoodies and he had told you that he bought you the same one so you two could match, which sparked the little argument. “the entire point of me wearing your hoodie is because it’s yours hajime,” you argue, crossing your arms and hiding yourself in the hoodie he left behind at your place. “it smells like you and it reminds me of you which is why i wear it.” hajime sighs and sits next to your scrunched up form on his bed, wrapping his arm around. “c’mon y/n, forgive me, i didn’t think about that before,” he reasons, rubbing your back a bit. “you can have as many of my hoodies as you want, i just want to know that you’ll be okay.” you silently look to the side at him and he smiles a little. “look at me babe,” he continues, taking your hand. you unscrunch and look at him, watching as he gently squeezes your hand. “i love you a lot did you know that?” you confess, playing with the rings on his hand. “i’ve never told you that before... but i don’t know if you feel the same.” he frowns a bit, bringing your hand up to kiss it. “i do,” hajime assures you, rubbing the too of your hand with his thumb. “i love you so much okay?” you nod and climb over him so that you’re straddling him and you hug him tight while nodding.
naoto: he's busy doing work at his desk and you're reading a book in bed. you realize how late it's getting and the two of you have to be up early to get ready and have brunch with takemichi and hina. you set your book to the side and get up, clad in your boyfriend's soft button up (which was very warm because you just took it out of the dryer but anyways). "i'll be in bed soon y/n," naoto tells you, not moving at all as you continue walking over to him. "you know you won't for a while," you sigh, wrapping your arms around his shoulders as you look at what he's working on. "i have to finish this report so i don't have to do it later." you pout, running a hand through his har. "did you forget about our double date tomorrow?" naoto puts his pen down and huffs while looking up at you. "no... but i wanna get this done before then." another sigh slips past your lips as you cup his face, noticing the bags under his eyes. "i love you so much naoto, but you really need to rest okay? i know you're really tired, let's sleep." all of a sudden, your boyfriend is smiling, putting his hands on your waist to maneuver you to sit in his lap. your heart races as he gently holds you, leaning in. he kisses you and you wrap your arms around his neck. "i love you too angel," he mumbles when the two of you pull away, smiling while getting up so that the two of you can go to bed.

Working w/ Smiley and Angry at the Ramen Shop Headcanons
Platonic version, no warnings, got pretty long so there’s more after the cut!
You were friends with both Souya and Nahoya before you started working at the ramen shop with them
When they brought up the idea of working together you couldn't pass it up. Working with your best friends, doing something you all love and getting paid? Seemed like a no brainer.
The beginning was kinda rough, only guys from Toman would come and eat with their girlfriends at first and ask for a discount
And the Mizo Middle Five gang always came by and asked for free food
The answer was always no, but you did offer them a discount unbeknownst to the twins
Then they started bringing their friends, who brought their friends, who brought their parents, who brought their friends etc.
Business was booming thankfully, some days the line went out the door
The business next door complained about your customers blocking their doors, so you asked Nahoya about moving to a bigger location
Nahoya agreed and started looking for places, Souya took care of the budget, and you worked on the menu and design
You all settled on a place near a train station, it was a little more expensive but you could afford it, plus it would mean more customers
While Souya and Nahoya cooked, you worked the register and served the food & drinks
The twins don’t fight often, but one day before opening they couldn’t decide whether they wanted the tv on or just music.
Souya’s scowl intensified as he presented his argument for the tv
“The tv should be on since there’s a game later, people wanna watch the game. If they wanna listen to music they can just put on headphones”
Nahoya’s smile deepened and a vein on his head throbbed as he argued with his brother
“But music brings up a good vibe for the whole place, I have a playlist ready right here. If they wanna watch the game they can take the food with them and go home”
As they got louder, you stepped in between them and offered a solution
“Why not do both, we’ll put the tv on in the back, turn it down and put on subtitles while the music plays up front”
They look at each other then to you
“I don’t know what we’d do without you y/n” Nahoya says offering a hug
Souya puts an arm around your shoulder and guides you to the back to set up the tv
Later on that night the restaurant is packed to the brim, full of families, workers, couples and students all enjoying the atmosphere
Nahoya and Souya busy preparing the dishes as you give them order after order
When there’s a quiet moment at the end of the night (it was like 2am, the crowd was so happy after the game Nahoya offered free drinks to all the adults and juice to everyone underage) you lean against the counter completely beat
Souya slides a bowl of ramen over to you and Nahoya sits drinks for the three of you in front him before distributing them
“To yet another successful day” Nahoya lifts his glass for a toast
“Cheers to that” you say clinking your glasses together
Souya brings ramen for him and his brother
The laughter continues as you all finish and start to head home

The Smile On His Face
Seokmin x Reader
Angst, little bits of fluff here and there, enemies to lovers!seokmin
2.4K words
Requested by anon🤍
Summary: The one where you’re the devil and Lee Seokmin, the guy who always has a smile on his face, is the angel; but maybe this time, you’re much more suitable than you think.
Fire and ice. Sunshine and rain. Toothpaste and orange juice. These all could describe the drastic difference between you and Lee Seokmin. He was the angel, you were the devil. And while you had clashing personalities, you soon find out maybe you’re not as different as you had thought. Maybe you were just scared.
“What time’s your last class?” Mingyu questioned you from the seat across you, stabbing his fork into his bowl of instant ramen he brought for lunch, cheeks growing large from the giant sized bite of noodles he took, causing you to snort and cough up some of your own lunch.
You hit your chest, coughs and wheezes sounding as you laughed at the look on his face as well as trying to get the food out of your windpipe. Taking a quick swig off your powerade, you sucked in a much needed breath of air from the constant hacking, “uh I think it’s from 3-4:30, but it’s all the way down at the auditorium for rehearsal so I probably won’t get back to the dorm until like 5”
Mingyu nodded, still busy stuffing his face full of noodles and such. Once finished chewing, he reached his arm behind him to toss his trash away, turning back to you to steal a bite of your fried rice- much to his dismay, he only ended up with a piece of egg on his fork, once again putting you into a fit of giggles as he began to complain about how his 2 cups of noodles wouldn’t fill a growing boy up.
But you were easily guilt-tripped for your softie best friend, sliding over the last bit of food you had for him to finish off. He raised his eyebrows, silently asking if you were sure he could have it. You waved his worries off, insisting you were full and would just eat later tonight considering the two of you always had a large dinner. Mingyu was pleased at that, content in being able to eat even more food than he already had. He hummed between every bite, noises of fulfillment sounding off as he chewed- you couldn’t help but watch with a fond smile, he was the cutest.
After another half an hour or so, your lunch break was over and the two of you decided to head to your shared friend Seungkwans dorm for a few rest hours before your final classes. Because his dorm was rather close to the small shop you ate at, you arrived only a few minutes after leaving, welcoming the laundry scented room with open arms when he opened the door for you both.
“Finally, you took long enough to get here,” seungkwan rolled his eyes, ushering you and Mingyu in. He pointed at your shoes, making sure you knew to put them where he had made your designated shoe spots for when you came over, “the others already started the game” Seungkwan finished, walking straight over to the couch where the intense Mario kart match was taking place.
Mingyu quickly trailed after him, hollering for the next match to be his turn. You noticed the single shoe he left that had been trailing behind him, considering just leaving it there to watch Seungkwan have an absolute breakdown over it- but you didn’t feel like hearing him whine today, so picking it up it is.
You made your way to the living room where all the boys had gathered around the flat screen. The noise level was that of a zoo, most of the sounds heard being that of screams of excitement or yells of frustration. Either way, you knew you were going to have a tough time listening to your professor later, there wasn’t a doubt in your mind that the boys would have your eardrums bursting by then.
As soon as you saw the widely grinning boy sat by Vernon, you couldn’t help the frustrated grumble leave your lips. Of course he had to show up, he always managed to be wherever it was you were- at least that’s what it felt like to you because you absolutely couldn’t stand him.
Maybe it was the way he always held the door open for you, complimented your outfits, or it was purely because of how sickening sweet he was. He always had the same stupid grin plastered on his face, and the same boisterous laugh filling the ground of your campus; Lee Seokmin sure got on your nerves. Couldn’t he be less happy go lucky and more normal?
Seokmin perked up at the sound of your footsteps, immediately lifting his head to make eye contact with you so he could greet you, “Hi, Y/n!” He had that same smile on his face you couldn’t stand, something about it making you feel off.
Oh great, you mumbled, taking a seat on the edge of the couch next to Chan.
Seokmin deflated a little at your comment, his smile faltering just a bit. He forgets you aren’t exactly a people person, maybe he should ease off some? He’d be crushed if you didn’t like him!
Oh great, this was going to be a long few hours.
———————
Rehearsal was a bitch.
Everyone managed to forget their lines, though you just practiced the day before yesterday, and now your professor/play director was throwing a temper tantrum on the side stage. It wasn’t like the play was tomorrow, in fact, this was only your 3rd rehearsal; the play itself wasn’t for another month, so why he was acting as if everything was going to be a shit show, you didn’t quite know.
You sat at the end of the stage, dangling your legs over the edge. You tuned out your furious professor as much as you possibly could considering he was currently yelling into all of your in-ear monitors- you really would have problems hearing tomorrow. Fantasizing about daydreams was your safest bet to distract yourself from the ruckus around you, but the tap on your shoulder brought you right back to reality,
“Hey Y/n!”
You swore you were this close to ripping your own hair out and strangling yourself with it.
The cheerful boy sat next to you, also letting his legs hang over the edge of the stage, “I was getting bored just listening to Mr. Park talk, he wouldn’t stop rambling!”
Yeah just like someone I know, you desperately wanted to tell him, but you chose to keep it to yourself, instead responding mhm and looking down at your feet so he’d get the hint you weren’t listening.
But he didn’t, he kept talking and talking. Anytime you even glanced at him you swore his bubbly voice got even more obnoxiously loud.
“So I-“
“Oh my God please just stop talking”
Seokmin went red at your sudden outburst, his mouth immediately falling shut in a straight line. Finally looking at you, like actually taking in your expression, he noticed your eyes being screwed shut, eyebrows tightly bunched together. You were clearly pissed.
“You keep blabbing on and on, I seriously don’t care about whatever the hell it is you’re rambling about, you weirdo-” you groaned, feeling relieved at the burst of anger you finally voiced out after you had first seen him that day, “please just leave me alone, God”
He knows boys aren’t supposed to cry (which he always said was a load of bullshit), and especially not in front of the person they had a massive crush on, but at this point in time he truly didn’t care.
When you first heard the sniffles, you thought it was just someone behind you who had forgotten their allergy medicine that day. But when you heard his voice crack as he spoke, “I uh- I guess I’ll just stop bothering you then, I’m sorry”, you could only feel the sharp pain in your chest as your heart broke into a million pieces. Watching the boy who always smiled rush away with pursed lips and red eyes was an even worse feeling than when your cat died- and you loved that cat.
——————
Seokmin was true to his word. He really did stop bothering you, so much so you hadn’t seen him in almost a week. On days that you went over to Seungkwans or Vernons and expected to see his giddy self sitting there filling the room with his usual bright laughter, he wasn’t there- and nobody could tell you the real reason why.
“I think he’s sick”
“He has a bunch of exams to study for”
But you knew Seokmin never got sick, and he sure as hell didn’t have exams in the middle of February. The frustration you were beginning to feel was immensely annoying, why did you suddenly care about him anyways? You should be relieved you don’t have to deal with his constant talking and little acts of service he did for you. So why does your stomach have this weird feeling now that you can’t see the one person who always managed to have a smile on his face?
“I don’t know Y/n, he’s probably just stressed from dealing with homeword and the play, not to mention his grandpa just passed away the other day-“
“Wait what, his grandpa died?” Your heart dropped to your stomach, the two organs twisting together to create a guilty sensation rising to your throat.
Mingyu hummed, looking up to you from his phone before pressing play on his game again, “yeah he was really sick. Seokmin’s been super beat up about it, so I was shocked he kept coming to class,” he sighed, inhaling a sharp breath through his nose, “but I guess now he’s finally is taking the rest he deserves”
Why were you the biggest, most inconsiderate asshole on the planet? And only to the sweetest guy you had ever known? He was always there for you in the littlest and yet the most meaningful ways possible, and you couldn’t even let him tell you about his day? You fucked up, and everything was starting to catch up to you.
“Hey Gyu” you stood up from your seat on the couch, swiftly grabbing your jacket and phone in the process.
Mingyu shot you a confused look, watching you move quicker than he’s ever seen you move before, “uh whatcha doin’?”
“I’m-“ you pulled on your adidas jacket, finishing tying your shoes soon after, “-going to visit Seokmin”
And then you were gone, rushing to the boys dormitory all the way across campus.
————-
The door creaked open in front of you, revealing a rather tired looking Seokmin. His eyebrows furrowed at the sight of you, body moving out of the door frame to let you inside his relatively warm room, “Y/n? What’re you doing here? I thought you wanted me to leave you alone?” His voice was gravelly, tone sounding much more gloomy than you were used to hearing come from him.
You suddenly felt nervous standing inside his room with just him and you there. You were so used to the other boys being alongside you that you’ve never actually been along with Seokmin before. Clearing your throat, you swiped your hands along your jeans before speaking up, “I wanted to apologize-“
Seokmin went to say something, but the raise of your finger caused him to stop.
“I wanted to apologize for being the rudest, most horrendous bitch to you” you breathed out a slow breath, continuing on before he could say anything, “you’re easily the most kind and considerate person I know and I have done nothing but treat you like shit, and you don’t deserve that”. But you didn’t stop there, the speech you had practiced a million times over in your head on the way there finally being put to use, “I realized that I’ve been so awful to you because I’m just not used to having someone so sweet and utterly perfect as you actually treat me right. I mean God-“ you tossed your hands in the air with an exasperated sigh, “I’ve had feelings for you this whole time and I was so scared about that that I used being a bitch to you as a coping method”
Seokmin was left standing in shock at your confession, not expecting you to say anything as blunt as that. He was happy that you noticed you weren’t exactly the nicest to him, but what kind of person would he be to let his apparent mutual crush think so poorly of themself when he could so easily stop it?
“You’re right-“
Now you were left standing in shock, not ever thinking of seokmin to be so straightforward.
Flabbergasted at his own choice of wording, seokmin smiled gently at you before guiding you to sit next to him on his bed before continuing, “sorry, I meant to say that yes, while you haven’t been all that kind to me-“ you sheepishly smiled at that, embarrassment and guilt flooding to your face, “I still think you’re absolutely amazing inside and out”
Shock counter is now at 3.
“Wh-what?” The words stuttered out before you could think twice. You could feel Seokmin shift closer to you, his knee bumping against yours. While you had an internal battle as to whether or not you should look up at him, you didn’t need to decide for yourself when you felt the softest fingers gently hook under your chin, tilting your head up so you could see him smiling down at you with the most adorning smile.
“I’ve had the biggest, most pathetic crush on you for like 2 ½ years now, Y/n” seokmin’s voice came out little, his own features showing that he was clearly flustered at his unexpected declaration, “what would you do if I kissed you right now?”
The corners of your lips tilted up at his upfront question, your own voice being soft in your answer, “I think I’d really love that”
His lips no soon after pressed against yours, your lips molding against his better than chocolate. His hand that had previously been on his bed gripped onto your hip, pulling you closer into him so he could have better access to your mouth. Melting into his embrace, you let out a content breath through your nose as you climbed into his lap, wrapping your legs behind his waist. Seokmin grinned into the kiss, his smile that could outshine the sun itself finally blessing his features once again; you couldn’t help your own smile from growing, feeling at bay to not only be kissing Seokmin, but seeing him happy once again.

Misunderstanding
Itachi looked at the paired Tantos that Sakura was holding out with some confusion. They were beautiful weapons, Blackened steel blades, well crafted and excellently balanced. The crossguard for one of the blades was a pair of outstretched black wings with a crow's head carved into the pommel, two jeweled red eyes peering out like a pair of sharingan. The second blade had an intricate feather design etched into the blade and a polished onyx gem handle, more subdued in design than the first but no less elegant. They were a perfect match for the pair of Uchiha prodigy they were intended for. Flashy and bold for the one and only Shisui of the body flicker and modest but refined and graceful for the quiet clan heir.
Shisui was already giggling like a schoolboy, leaning over Itachi’s shoulder as his younger cousin studied both th weapons and the kunoichi who had brought them.
Sakura was smiling shyly, her eyes jumping between the faces of the two Uchiha’s in front of her, taking in Itachi’s puzzled expression and Shisui’s excitement.
“Sasuke mentioned that your birthday was coming up and I realized that I’ve never given either of you a gift. You both have helped me so much to get stronger and I know that Uchiha don’t really celebrate their birthdays but I still wanted to get you both something. I’m sorry if it’s kind of lame, I guess you both probably have plenty of weapons but when I asked Kakashi, he said that giving someone a weapon is a good way to tell them how much you respect them…” She trailed off, her eyes finally stopping on Itachi’s face as understanding dawned on him.
“Thank you, Sakura-san. These are beautiful weapons.” A small smile crossed Itachi’s face, “But I don’t know if us accepting them is a good idea.”
Sakura’s smile faltered and her eyes dropped, “Oh…”
Itachi hissed in pain as Shisui pinched his arm and pushed himself forward to toss an arm around Sakura’s shoulders, “What my idiot cousin means by that is you really didn’t need to get us anything. I mean, it’s not like we’ve ever gotten you anything.”
“Speak for yourself.” Itachi hissed, “Just because you forget everyone’s birthdays every year…”
Shisui shot Itachi a glare, “Mr. Perfect over here is just trying to say that these are amazing and you are way too nice to us. Thanks a million Sakura-chan!” Shisui gingerly took his gift in his hands, testing the way the blade felt in his hands.
Sakura perked back up immediately, her small smile growing until it reached from ear to ear, “Oh it’s really nothing! After all, thanks to both of you I’m sure I’ll get promoted to Jonin. Honestly, these are the least I could do.”
Itachi caught Shisui’s eye out of the corner of his own. His lips pursed and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly in dismay at his cousin.
That’s not what I meant and you know it. One of us needs to tell her that we can’t keep these.
Shisui answered the glance with a smile and a quirk of his eyebrow.
Are you kidding me? Itachi these look amazing and expensive. We can’t offend her by not accepting them. Besides, I think she might cry if we don’t take them.
Itachi grimaced. Him and crying women never ended well. He always just stood there awkwardly, not sure what to do or what to say. Or he ended up saying the wrong thing and making them even more upset.
You know what people are going to think. One of us needs to tell her.
Shisui beamed at Itachi, his eyes shining with a hint of mischief.
No way. This is going to be funny as hell. Besides, just because it’s tradition for Uchiha to give engagement weapons instead of engagement rings doesn’t mean every gifted weapon is seen as a proposal. She isn’t a member of the clan, it isn’t like we’re the ones giving her weapons.
Itachi sighed, looking back to Sakura who was watching them both with an amused expression.
“Who won?”
“What?” Itachi and Shisui replied in unison.
Sakura laughed, “you guys just had one of your silent arguments, right? So which one of you won?”
“Me!” Shisui chirped, pulling Sakura closer to give her a kiss on the cheek, “Thanks a million and one, Sakura-chan!”
Itachi sighed and took the second tanto. He did have to admit it was a very nice weapon. He gave her a deep, respectful bow, “Yes, thank you Sakura-san. Your kindness is unrivaled in all of Konoha.”
Sakura flushed crimson but her smile only widened, “If you’d like, maybe we can all go get Dango after my shift at the hospital today.”
That managed to break through Itachi’s show of formality, his eyes lighting up at the mention of his favorite sweet. He leaned in and copied Shisui by placing a kiss on her other cheek.
“That sounds wonderful.”
Sakura’s face turned an even deeper shade of red at the rare show of affection from the clan heir and she quickly turned and started running off towards the hospital building, waiving as she left, “It’s a date! See you!”
As Shisui and Itachi headed back towards the district, Itachi gave Shisui a shove, glaring over at him.
Hey! What was that for?
Because I’m going to have to explain to Sakura if this whole joke of yours goes sour and you know it.
Oh common, Itachi, loosen up a little. You need to learn to have a little fun in life and not be such a stick in the mud.
Shisui stuck his tongue out at Itachi, earning a punch to the shoulder and another scowl from his cousin.
“Do you really think we have silent arguments that much?” Shisui asked as Itachi sighed in exasperation.
Sakura was used to walking through the Uchiha district. She had made the trip to the clan head’s house more times than she could count to bring home some item that Sasuke had left during training, bringing him homework when he stayed home sick, or letting him know when they had a last minute mission assignment. She was used to the icy reception she received every time she walked the streets, used to the glares that came her way from shopkeepers and the way people gave her a wide berth as she made her way to the heart of the Uchiha district.
But today something was different. Instead of avoiding her, people were waving at her. She had been stopped on her way to Sasuke’s by no less than three shopkeepers who were offering her small gifts or samples. Sakura was starting to question if some kind of strange illness had suddenly swept over the Uchiha because the amount of smiles that she was getting was absolutely disquieting.
“Sakura!” Mikoto was smiling brightly when she opened the door, “Itachi is out right now, but please come in.”
“Oh, that’s fine, I actually just came by to drop off some paperwork for Lord Fifth.” Sakura chuckled awkwardly, holding out the bundle of paperwork. It caught her off guard that Mikoto mentioned that Itachi was out since she usually assumed that Sakura was there to visit Sasuke.
“You came all this way, please why don’t you come in and have a cup of tea. I just finished a batch of cookies too!”
Sakura couldn’t see a reason to turn that down, “Sure, I can spare a few minutes. Thank you Mikoto-san.” Sakura gave a shallow bow and followed Mikoto into the house.
“We really need to have you by for dinner soon, Sakura-san. It’s been a while now, hasn’t it. I don’t think you’ve eaten a meal with us since you were a genin. Tell me, how is your work at the hospital going? Tsunade-sama has nothing but praises for her favorite student.”
Sakura ran a hand up through her hair, “Oh yeah, I guess it’s been a while. I guess since team 7 all started training under different sensei we haven’t spent as much time together.” It was a little sad. Sakura had so many good memories of getting together with Sasuke and Naruto over bowls of ramen, listening to the boys bicker.
“Things are going well. The hours are long but I’m helping a lot of people. I’m just thankful that Itachi and Shisui have been able to help me train despite my unconventional schedule.”
Mikoto’s smile brightened as she handed Sakura a cup of warm tea and a plate with two cookies on it, “That’s right! Itachi has mentioned your training sessions. I have to say, I didn’t expect them to lead to all this. It’s a bit unconventional, I’ll admit, but Itachi and Shisui have always been so close. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.”
Sakura paused mid sip. Lead to what? Is her training with Shisui and Itachi some kind of a problem? Maybe there was some kind of rules about training with non-uchiha that they were breaking by helping her?
“Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause either of them any trouble.”
Mikoto peered over her own up of tea, “Oh don’t worry too much about Fugaku-san. He’ll come around. Believe it or not, he’s actually happy. I mean, sure he’d prefer for things to be a bit more...traditional...but really I think he was worried that Itachi would never get married so even if it’s a little unusual…”
Sakura spit out her tea, coughing and sputtering as she processed what Mikoto was saying.
“You...think...that…”
Mikoto frowned, “I saw the Tantos you gave them. They’re beautiful.”
Sakura nodded, hesitantly, “Yeah...I wanted...to…” She was struggling to find any way to form words, “Wanted to thank...thank them...for training me.”
Mikoto’s brow furrowed, “So it was just a gift? Didn’t Itachi explain it to you?”
Sakura shook her head, “He...He didn’t want to accept it, but Shisui said-”
It hit her. Shisui. Of course he would be the kind to get a laugh out of this. Letting her flounder around like this while-
“Wait does...Does the whole clan...Do they think that Itachi and I are getting married?” Sakura asked. Mikoto put her cup of tea aside and put a hand on Sakura’s shoulder.
“Of course. Well, Itachi and Shisui both. Like I said, unconventional, but no one really ever thought either of those boys would ever find a girl to settle down with. They could certainly do worse than the Hokage’s favorite apprentice. It’s tradition for our clan that you propose with a special weapon. Fugaku proposed to me with a pair of jade Kunai.”
Sakura reached up and rubbed at her temples. She was going to kill him. The next time she saw Shisui she was going to punch him so hard he’d wind up in Suna.

made up fic title: i didn't know i was lonely (til i saw your face)
i wanna get better
Howard Stark is the world’s smartest man. Tony knows this, has read it in so many newspaper articles and interviews and magazines that he could probably cut out every single time a journalist writes it and make a new fucking wallpaper out of it.
It’s permeated every single aspect of Tony’s life. The problem is that Tony looks exactly like his father did. Everyone compares everything. How quickly he builds a weapon, how fast it can take for him to churn out an idea.
His humor is the same, way of dressing is the same, and he should be the same. The world needs another Howard Stark for the next lifetime. They don’t need a Tony Stark.
(And maybe...maybe Tony doesn’t mind that. It’s so much easier, to pretend to be somebody else and have them look at that.)
Tony doesn’t make friends. Ever. Friends are not beneficial, and it’s not like they could hang out anyways. Tony reads in books about friends who go to diners together and attend movies and skateboard, but really? He doesn’t have time for that. He has to build things and study business, and get his life all sorted out.
He is sixteen when he goes to college. He feels far too young, and the kind, warm hand of Jarvis’ smoothing out his hair makes the feeling worse.
“You will be fine, Anthony. Study hard, and who knows how quickly you’ll graduate.”
“Of course,” Tony says stiffly.
“Have fun, Tony,” Ana says, grinning. “College can be a fun time.”
It’s not supposed to be fun for him. Howard told him to focus on his studies only. His whole life would be the engineering and business buildings, and maybe he would sometimes get takeout. Maybe he wouldn’t.
Point is, this is just like everything else in his life: the goal was to be exactly like Howard. Graduate top of his class, blow the world away, and have a glass of scotch after a job well done. (Or gin, or whiskey, or hell...all three.)
-
Rhodey was not a factor. At all.
Tony had thought that his mother had paid extra to make sure her son had a room all to himself. Not out of a desire, no: out of necessity. Can’t have daddy’s little prodigy revealing anything.
And maybe she meant to, but he’s not going to question it. Not when he’s just been staring.
“Hey man,” the guy in the room says. The name-tag on the door says “Jim.”
“Hey,” Tony says. “Good to...sorry. I just...I wasn’t expecting anyone here.”
“Last minute decision. My room decided to burst a pipe. Technical difficulties. They say they’re gonna get it fixed as soon as possible. That a problem for you?”
There’s more to the eyebrow raise, more to the tone. Jim isn’t going to take shit, and he knows who Tony is. He saw it in how his eyes widened for a moment.
Tony likes him. He doesn’t know how it’s going to go later, but for now: Jim is a likable guy.
“Not at all.”
-
To get used to sharing is definitely interesting. Tony has to get used to a lot, which isn’t a bad thing, but he wasn’t expecting to have to tiptoe at three a.m. while making ramen because Rhodey has something called a “sleep schedule to maintain.”
Tony doesn’t know what the hell that is, but he doesn’t like it.
Jim plays a lot of records, which is...odd. Tony’s never really been one for records, mainly because he’s future-thinking. But the way that Jim smiles when he hears a song and tells Tony a little anecdote about his father’s dancing in the kitchen? That’s good.
So Tony buys some records, and falls in love with one band in particular: AC/DC. He can’t get enough of it.
Jim, apparently, can.
“Oh my god,” he groans, entering their dorm room. “Are you still playing that band?”
“They’re amazing, Jim-Jam,” Tony says, turning it down a bit. “Besides, I thought your bio lab lasted for another hour.”
“It was supposed to, but one of the sorority girls got too flustered with a fraternity guy and then things caught fire.”
“Boo,” Tony says, frowning. “It’s the worst when a lab catches on fire.”
-
Tony is not expecting Jim to invite him anywhere, take him anywhere. After all, that’s not what school is for, and Tony’s not exactly the world’s best roommate. Besides, their RA said that they didn’t have to be friends, they just had to be good roommates.
(Tony remembers this whenever he forgets to put away his ramen bowl.)
But Jim invites him to a restaurant with a couple of his buddies from ROTC.
“It’ll be fun,” he says, smiling. “Besides, you never go out.”
There’s a reason for that, although people here aren’t really “fanatical” about Tony, thank god.
-
The dinner turns out to be terrible, because all of the guys just want to talk about Tony’s dad.
“How did he end up getting the better reaction timing on the new pistol, the Stark 77?” A guy named Terry asks.
And Tony freezes.
That wasn’t Howard’s. That was his.
Jim must’ve seen something on his face.
“I, uh, I guess it must’ve just been something with the screw-in method during assembly,” Tony says weakly. “If you’ll excuse me, I just realized I have something to do at home.”
-
Howard’s been using his designs. No credit.
He spends about ten minutes on the phone. It amounts to this sentence:
“Without me, boy, you’d be nothing. Who do you think paid for school? Private tutors? Advanced textbooks? Who, yourself? Don’t be ridiculous.”
Tony’s red-faced, and the phone gets hung up, and he stares out at the sky for maybe way too long. He forgot his ID to swipe back in, and has to launch little bits of rock at what he thinks is his and Jim’s window.
Jim brings him up and sits with him on a bed.
“I’m fine, honestly.”
“No, you’re really not. Tony, you’re a terrible liar.”
And he is, really. He can lie about so many things, but family and his state of mind are a bit harder nowadays.
He gets hugged.
That’s...holy shit, that’s new. He’s not sure the last time he got hugged by someone he liked. Jarvis tended to like the shoulder-pat, and Ana...well, she loved to hug him, but it had been a while. (Maria and Howard, he was quite sure, had skipped the ‘human emotional intimacy’ section of life.)
“Your dad sucks,” Jim mutters. “Just so you know.”
“I know. I know.”
From then, they become friends. Tony is wondering if its pity. He asks Jim as such. He snorts.
“Tony, I don’t make friends out of pity. I’m not that kind of guy. If we were friends out of pity, I’d be moving out next semester.”
Tony smiles.
-
He learns how to do friend things. They have a sleepover complete with the greasiest pizza possible, video games, and at least one debate over Star Wars.
(It’s about whether or not the skeletal structure of Jabba the Hut holds up in truth, and how density of space affects him on different planets.)
Tony, somehow, starts calling him Rhodey. It sticks, and Jim doesn’t complain.
Rhodey’s sweaters slowly become Tony’s, and Rhodey teaches Tony all about casual affection.
Hugs before class, kisses on the forehead, and more than enough teasing to last three lifetimes or more.
-
Come May, everyone’s abuzz with summer plans. Tony, however, is dreading it. Rhodey lives in Virginia, and Tony lives in New York. His mother wants him to live in their summer home in California.
“Oh come on, I know that you’ll have to visit me,” Rhodey says, grinning. “Tell your mom it’s a business trip or something.”
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were corrupting me,” Tony says haughtily. Half his wardrobe is packed up, and he’s just waiting on Jarvis with the car.
“Of course I am, gotta train you for when you liaison with the government for army contracts.”
Tony laughs loudly.
“Ah, so true. I’ll mark it down as heir-apparent training with my dear, drastically old father.”
Rhodey nods, grinning.
Tony’s leaving a day earlier than Rhodey is.
He hopes he comes back a day earlier.
After all, you can’t wait until you see your friend again.
#howard stark is a stinky stinky man#absolutely do not vibe with him#and yes i was going to make this romantic rhodeytony but i think friendship is equally important#rhodeytony#ironhusbands#i just like how easily they can fit together and i am slowly falling more in love w this ship#thank u ava!#lovelyirony writes#tony stark#rhodey#iron man#war machine

i hope this didn't send twice due to tumblr messing up, but: philip & sento, N? they would be an entertaining duo but also bound for disaster due to Science Shenanigans, haha
N is for nefarious or notorious
Banjou stares dubiously at the door to the garage. “What do you think they’re doing in there?”
“I’m not sure.” Shoutaro frowns. “But I’m definitely worried.”
--
In the garage, Sento and Philip have been talking at high speed for at least an hour. There’s so much to say, and what feels like very little time to say it in, although that’s illogical and likely a product of excessive mutual excitement. Sento says, flipping through one of the many notebooks that keep catching his attention, “I’ve been meaning to ask, where did you get all this stuff?”
“Various places.” Philip’s covered one of the whiteboards in notes and equations already, but fortunately there are several others, and a great deal of wall that Philip’s assured Sento is easy to clean. “Mostly from various branches of the government, although the Museum’s research I inherited and Fueki Sou’s papers were given to me personally by Wizard--have you met Haruto yet?”
“Banjou and I haven’t been in this world for very long, we haven’t met most people.” Sento frowns down at the page in his hand. “Mainly Ex-Aid and his friends, it was really busy and I didn’t have much time to talk to the other Riders there before the worlds separated again. Oh, and Zi-O.”
“Oh, you met Zi-O? Fascinating, I’m very curious about Zi-O, you’ll have to tell me about him later.“
“Although I recognize this sketch here, aren’t these the things Gaim uses? The fruit guy? Gaim was around when Banjou and I met Emu, but he had to leave pretty early.”
“Yes, that’s a Lockseed. I don’t imagine most of Professor Sengoku’s work will be of great use to us, the materials he was working with are for the most part inaccessible, but his designs are extraordinary, aren’t they? He was an artist of great talent.“
“I don’t know, his notes on energy sources seem potentially useful. I--is this about gravity manipulation?”
“Ah, good, you’ve located the Banno-Steinbelt papers, I thought I’d misplaced them and that would have been unfortunate. Gaim kindly retrieved copies of them for me, they’re not technically supposed to be available to anyone.”
“Locked in a vault?”
“Buried in the earth.”
“Fascinating.”
“Yes, isn’t it?” Philip’s stomach growls, and he stops, frowning. “I think perhaps we should eat.”
Sento checks the time on his phone. “Yeah, maybe, Banjou’s going to get on my case if I forget.”
--
The knob on the door to the garage turns, and Shoutaro and Banjou both eye it warily until the door actually opens and Sento and Philip lean out. Philip has a smudge of marker on his cheek. Sento’s hair is standing up. Both of them have a slightly feverish look in their eyes, and Philip beams at Shoutaro and says, breathlessly, “Partner, could I possibly ask you to get us some lunch? We may be some time.“
Shoutaro peers at him. “You didn’t remember your inhaler, did you.”
“I--” Philip blinks. “No, I suppose I didn’t.”
“Here.” An inhaler flies through the air, and Philip catches it easily. “And use it, please. What did you want to eat?”
“I would love some takoyaki.”
Banjou, meanwhile, pokes gently at Sento’s hair. “What are you guys up to, anyway?”
“I’m not sure yet.” Sento’s manic grin is simultaneously worrying and warming; it feels like Banjou hasn’t seen him look this...scientifically excited in a while. “We may be inventing cold fusion, I’ll have to get back to you.”
“Hm.” Banjou eyes him dubiously. “Just...don’t blow up the whole city, yeah? What do you want for lunch?”
“The largest bowl of ramen possible.”
That catches Shoutaro’s attention, and he looks up from where he’s talking to Philip and grins. “I know a place for that. Come on, Banjou, you’ll like it, we’ll walk there.”
It’s a fairly short walk all told--to one stand for takoyaki, to another stand for what Shoutaro calls “Fuumen,” and then back to the Narumi Detective Agency only takes about twenty minutes. They’re both a little too wary of what Sento and Philip might be up to in the garage to go in, but their knock is answered quickly enough, and food is accepted with a dual chorus of, “thanks, love you,” before the door shuts again.
Once the latch has clicked, Banjou looks at it sidelong. “So, uh. Did I mention it’s nice to meet you guys? We’ve kind of been...alone here since we fused the worlds.”
“It’s always good to meet other Riders.” Shoutaro holds out his hand. “Welcome to the world.”
“Thanks.” It’s a firm handshake on both sides, and Banjou gives their clasped hands a speculative look. “They’re probably going to be in there until dinner, right?”
“Probably, Philip’s kind of unstoppable when he gets interested in something.”
“Sento’s the same way. So, if you’re a Rider...you fight at all? Like, jujitsu, kickboxing, anything like that?”
Shoutaro blinks. “Kickboxing, mostly, and a little judo. And I learned some savate a while ago.”
Banjou grins. “Fantastic, I used to do professional shoot fighting before I got framed for murder and I haven’t had a decent match in ages. Wanna spar?”
--
Philip and Sento eventually emerge from the garage to the sight of a note on the table in the front room of the agency.
We’re downstairs in the practice room. - Shoutaro
“Practice room?”
“We have some exercise equipment on the lower floor of the building, which used to be a pool hall. Shoutaro maintains a sparring area there for his own practice and when friends are visiting.” Philip frowns at the note. “I wonder why he would have brought your friend down there--are we in a hurry?”
Sento flashes him a grin. “Banjou used to fight professionally.”
“Ah.” And Philip rushes after him. “We’re in for a show, I see.”
--
Banjou and Shoutaro back away from each other, panting, and then both look up in surprise at the sound of polite applause. Shoutaro flicks sweat out of his eyes with the back of his hand and blinks. “When did you two get here?”
“About ten minutes ago.” Sento takes a sip of coffee and nods cheerfully to Shoutaro. “Don’t mind us, though.”
“Yes, do continue.” Philip sits next to him, coffee in hand and a look of catlike satisfaction on his face. “We’re happy to wait here and keep an eye on your shirts for you.”

hug prompt 5 with tendouuuu
┏━━━━━━•❅•°•❈•°•❅•━━━━━━┓
angy tendou kinda makes me 😳 ngl. this has a lot of build up? I left the ending VAGUE because it just seemed right yanno? this was fun and cute to write though :)
┗━━━━━━•❅•°•❈•°•❅•━━━━━━┛
Tendou . S - Snapmaps
-> genre: comfort
-> prompt: angry hug (not at eachother)
-> warnings: swearing, reader is lowkey horny for tendou, again I wrote this at 5am and projected my thirst onto y/n so my bad lollll, bad grammar maybe?? dunno
not sponsored by snapchat <3
He was pissed off.
Like, super pissed off. You could see it in the way his shoulders were tensed and how his leg bounced under the desk, the furrow of his brows and dark lines under his eyes screamed 'i am three minutes away from committing a murder'. His breathing seemed to be heavier too; and you guessed you wouldnt get much of a chance to talk to him once class was over if the way his eyes seemed to flicker to the clock every few seconds was any indication.
You werent anyone particularly close to Tendou Satori, though you'd consider the two of you friends if asked. In truth, you never thought you would get this far with him, the guy seemed to disregard anything that his teammates werent already fond of; you were lucky, in a sense, that as Goshiki's tutor you were deemed worthy of his attention.
Of course, occasionally your mind would slip, sliding down a dangerous path of 'what if?'s and 'why not?'s. Tendou was attractive, in that weird way, where your friends sorta make fun of you for liking him, before they turn and take a second look themselves. He intrigued you, the way he was so observant as to even bag a friendship with the ever elusive Ushijima kun.
You supposed that's why you bothered to chase him after class ended.
You had lost him pretty quickly though, thinking about it, you seriously wondered how in the hell you could lose a six foot, two inch, scarlet haired loudmouth like Tendou, as if slipping into a crowd and being invisible was something he was used to (something else to add onto the 'Mysteries of T.S' list you had compiled).
After escaping the crowd and seeing no sign of him outside, you relented, recognising that this was a losing battle. With a huff, you pulled out your phone to check his snap maps; he'd always turn them on once he got into school, claiming that it was to make sure if he skipped practice then Semi could track him down and beat his ass with no hassle.
Ramen shop
For the better, you were starving anyway. immediately picking up the pace, you took the 10 minute walk it would take to get there.
how did he manage to go so fast? damn him and his stupid long legs
You arrived, and the place looked empty, probably because of the sign on the door, stating that it was closed for the day. Looking down at your phone again, you confirmed that this was the right address, seeing your own bitmoji stood near Tendou's.
Then the door opened, Tendou, in all of his sweaty, (guess he mustve ran) brilliance, looked you up and down, an action you're ashamed to admit caused a jolt in your stomach. He looked suprised to see you here, but seeing your phone lit up with the familiar interface of Snapchat maps, he smirked.
"What brings you here?"
He sounded amused, though you could still hear his aggravation in how throaty his voice was, you werent used to hearing him speak so roughly, and part of you wondered what it would take to hear that kind of tone from him more.
"You uh seemed pissed off earlier, in class? and I wanted to check up on you. Why... are you in an empty, closed ramen shop?"
"Family owned joint, 's empty 'cause we're closed, and its closed 'cause it's empty"
"Doesn't closing it because its empty make for bad business practice? you're not even giving people a chance to enter, Tendou"
He jolted at this, you were usually so formal and appropriate with him, that hearing you challenge his logic so openly and speak without honorifics was unexpected; his shoulders sagged a little, tension easing from his body as a bemused smile made it's way across his face.
"Huh, guess you're right. Well, since ya here how 'bout coming in and taste testing some of our food before we open to the public again, for safety", the last line was spoken differently, as if he was daring you to say yes, like agreeing on a totally-not-date with Tendou Satori would be the worst mistake of your life.
So, naturally, you bit right back.
"You askin' me on a date now, Satori?", using him first name was dangerous, but you figured he'd get the message that you were trying to be playful, while giving him the ultimate choice of what would happen next.
Once again he was taken aback, before another sag of his shoulders and spread of a smile took over his body; he wasted no time in gently grabbing you by the elbow and ushering you inside.
The interior was gorgeously decorated, the tables scrubbed clean and the whole place smelt like heaven, Tendou sat you down on the nearest chair and rushed off to the back, promising to make you a ramen anyone would consider to be 'better than sex'
It was an hour later you still sat in the shop, laughing with Tendou about whatever tiktok trend he had roped his team into this week, you had texted your parents to let them know you were with a friend, not keen on making them worry and get the entirety of the Miyagi police force interrupting your totally-is-a-date.
Things were quiet for a moment, as you sat and drank some pop Tendou had offered you. You took the silence as an opportunity to appreciate the view; Tendou Satori, in the golden light of a 6pm sun, with his hair down in sweatpants and a graphic tee designed off of one of his favourite anime. You had been nervous when he excused himself to change and 'let his hair relax', but now thanked every and any god in existence for giving you the chance to see him looking so dearly delectable.
Your thought process was disrupted, however, when your eye candy spoke;
"Thanks. For coming, I mean. I've had a pretty shitty day and it means a lot to be sat here joking around with you"
He smiled at you, an intimate one, not mocking or sardonic in anyway, you, of course, locked this moment into your mind, committing the gentle red of his bitten and chapped lips, sloping so carefully, to memory.
Then you registered his words, your brows pinching together in concern, as you reached across and grabbed his hand.
"You wanna talk about it? I'm here to listen and I dont have anywhere to be for the time being"
He looked shocked for a moment, scanning your face to maybe check if this was some cruel joke, like he was going to start telling you and you'd laugh and walk away. After a few moments had passed of him studying your expression, he turned, heaving a sigh and standing up to go to the back, presumably preparing another two bowls of ramen.
He returned not long after, placing the bowls on your table, he began pacing, annoyance rushing back to him as he recalled what had him wound up so tightly earlier.
"... and now he's back in town! God, whatever, I just hope his stupid ass doesnt end up in the same classes as me, I dont wanna see that prick's face again", he had been bullied as a child it seemed, a detail that explained most of the contents in your list of Tendou mysteries, the bully was back in town, and your companion had ran into him when he had left school grounds for a moment; it seemed the boy's attitude had not changed, he had recognised Tendou and began layering on the taunts once more.
He was mad again, you could see it in how his shoulders tensed and his mouth now curled into an ugly sneer while venting.
You sighed before standing up, he needed some comfort, and the worst that could happen is that he pushes you away. You could always just excuse it by saying you have an affectionate family or friend group, and that it's just nature by now to give someone a hug when they're upset. Though there was every reason to think that he wouldnt fall for that, and you could make him uncomfortable. After such a huge leap in your progress with him, taking such a big risk is hardly smart or sensible-
fuck it.
But before you could move, his arms instead encased you. His body shook with brimming rage as he burrowed his head into the crook of your neck, bending awkwardly to properly reach. Hesitantly, you reached your arms up, one hand going to rub circles across his back and the other pulling and playing with the red locks of hair by the nape of his neck. The two of you stayed like that for a while, you leaning on the table once your legs got too wobbly to be trusted. Every so often you'd press a kiss to his shoulder, letting him know that you were accepting his affection wholeheartedly, not just reciprocating out of pity.
Despite the hug lasting longer than any other hugs you had given to friends and family, it still felt like it was too soon as Tendou began to pull away, standing back to his full height, though, his arms remained around you.
"Thanks, I needed that"
"yeah, uh, no problem, Tendou kun"

Unluckily Lucky || Pt. 3
Pt. 1 // Pt. 2 // Pt. 3
Summary: Murphy’s Law states that “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”. As someone who lived under that curse, you learned to have a backup plan or solution prepared for any situation. But nothing could ever have prepared you for meeting Jun.
insp. by 莫非, 這就是愛情 (Murphy’s Law of Love)
After work, I stopped by the toy store the cashier from this morning had suggested, however I was only given an apologetic head shake; I didn’t really expect my visit to be fruitful, but I still went on the off-chance that there may have been one last action figure tucked away in some obscure corner. I leaned against the glass wall of the bus shelter, my phone pressed against my ear, waiting for the bus.
“_________,” my sister’s sigh sounded both exasperated and amused, “It’s okay if you couldn’t get your hands on the toy. You can always get Dohee something else; in a few weeks she’ll have forgotten all about it and moved on to the next shiny thing.”
“I’m just so frustrated because I was SO close to getting it,” I whined, flagging the bus down. I swiped my card and collapsed into the first available seat, “This stupid guy in front of me took the last one just as I got to the store.”
My sister started to reply but her voice was drowned out by loud singing in the background. “Dohee, honey, keep it down please; Mommy’s on the phone.”
I smiled at my niece’s cute antics, “What is she singing this time?”
“The jingle from the action figure commercial,” my sister groaned, “It’s the only thing that comes out every time she opens her mouth…I’m going crazy over here.” There was a pause, “Look, ________, I have to go, but don’t worry about the toy okay? She’ll be happy with anything…and come over for dinner one night, when she isn’t singing that cursed jingle, Dohee’s asking when you can come play.”
“Drop her off at my apartment some time next week. It’s been forever since you guys had a night to yourself; let the spinster sister babysit,” I joked before hanging up. The bus reached my stop, which was conveniently located right in front of my apartment, and I thanked the driver and got off. I greeted the doorman and made a beeline for the elevator, melting against the railing as the doors closed; today had been a pretty eventful day and all I wanted to do was curl up in bed and watch the newest episode of my favorite TV show.
“Are you serious? What is all this?” I kicked at a box in irritation. Once I got off the elevator, I was greeted by a bunch of moving boxes obstructing my way, making it impossible to go inside. “Who just puts their stuff in front of someone else’s place? So inconsiderate…”
I glanced at the slightly ajar door next to mine, barely making out a bunch of similar looking boxes through the crack; my old neighbors had moved out months ago and it looked like the apartment had new tenants. I had come to appreciate having complete silence from one side and hoped that my new neighbors wouldn’t be any trouble, but judging by boxes blatantly blocking my way, maybe my hopes were too high.
I made my way around the boxes in front of my neighbor’s door and just as I lifted my fist to knock, it swung open, revealing a tall, lanky guy; he had a small, v-shaped face and soft, chocolate brown hair that swept across his forehead. I yelped in surprise, simultaneously he jerked back, eyes wide. “Hi. I’m _________,” I lowered my arm and extended my hand out to him, “Your boxes are in front of my door.”
“Oh my gosh, you’re my neighbor!” he exclaimed, quickly grabbing my hand and pumping it twice in a firm handshake, “I’m Minghao. I’m so sorry about all the boxes, the movers just put them down wherever they wanted to…I was hoping to get it all sorted out before you got back.” He released my hand and made a move to go around me, “I’ll go clear them out of your way right now. Sorry again for the trouble!” he said apologetically, looking a little frazzled.
“Hey, Minghao,” I began, watching as he scrambled to move the heavy looking boxes away from my door, feeling a little guilty at thinking him inconsiderate and annoying. “It’s okay, I understand; when I first moved in, my stuff was all over the place too. Do you need any help? It looks like you have a lot to sort through.”
Minghao whirled around, looking surprised, “Oh, no it’s okay! I don’t want to bother you anymore than I have. You’re probably exhausted from work.”
I shook my head, “It’s totally fine, I was just going spend the rest of the night watching TV anyways, at least now I’ll be doing something productive.” I dug through my bag for my keys, “Let me drop my stuff off and change and I’ll come over.”
A few minutes later, I found myself sat on the couch in Minghao’s living room, taking things out of boxes and putting them into designated piles. He was sitting cross-legged on the floor by my feet, digging through a box of his own. Minghao was so easy-going and amiable that soon we were talking and laughing like we had been friends for years; I told him about my awful morning and my job at the dating agency and I found out that he worked as a veterinary assistant and was also part of a b-boy dance crew in his spare time - with a little prodding and pleading from me, he demonstrated some moves.
“You have a lot of action figures,” I observed, as I opened my second box of carefully packaged toys, “Do you collect them?”
Minghao glanced over at the box on my lap, “Oh those aren’t mine, they’re all my roommate’s; he really likes them.”
“Roommate?” I tilted my head, “No wonder there’s so much stuff here. Where is he?”
“He had a meeting today, so he couldn’t call off to help me unpack,” he explained, “His name’s Jun, he should be home soon so you’ll meet him.” He stood up and threw his arms above his head, stretching from side to side, “Hey, it’s already 7, you must be starving; I’ll make you dinner to thank you for all your help.” Holding his hands out, he hoisted me to my feet and led me to the kitchen, which was surprisingly uncluttered.
I sat down at the table and watched as he boiled some water on the stove, “You don’t have to go all out for me, I’m fine with anything.”
“Don’t get your hopes up,” Minghao laughed, “It’s just ramen; we haven’t had a chance to go grocery shopping yet so there's nothing but that." After a while, he turned off the stove and grabbed two bowls from the cupboard. “Here you go,” he placed a steaming bowl in front of me and handed a pair of chopsticks over.
He sat down across from me and we both dug into the noodles in silence, before continuing our conversation. “What does Jun do?” I asked, lifting the bowl to my lips to drink the rest of the soup.
“He works at a consulting firm, so he usually comes back pretty late.”
“So you work with animals and he’s corporate,” I scrunched my eyebrows, “How did two completely different people like you meet?”
Minghao slurped the rest of his noodles before replying, “We’re not so different; we actually met through my dance crew,” he looked up at my widened eyes and nodded, “Yeah, he isn’t a b-boy but he’s really good at stunts and stuff like that. He left to join a local theater group though; he was always super passionate about acting.”
I opened my mouth to respond but suddenly there was a loud knock at the door. “That’s gotta be Jun,” Minghao said, jumping up, “The landlord dropped off our keys while he was at work. I’ll go get the door, can you put the dishes in the sink? Don’t worry about washing them, I’ll get to them later.” He headed for the door and I gathered our bowls and put them in the sink, choosing not to listen to him and wash them myself instead.
As I scrubbed at the bowls, I could hear Minghao fiddling with the locks and opening the door. “Xiao Hao Hao, I’m home!” I heard a new voice sing out.
“Don’t call me that.” Minghao retorted, “And stop clinging to me like you haven’t seen me for years; you saw me just this morning.” I giggled at both the cute nickname and his exasperated tone.
“Who’s shoes are those?”
“Our neighbor __________’s, she’s been helping me unpack since someone couldn’t help.”
“Okay listen, you know I why I couldn’t call out; I should’ve just taken the day off, the meeting was a total bust anyways. Some idiot spilled on my shirt and I didn’t have enough time to change so I had to go to the meeting with a ruined shirt and completely embarrassed myself…” Jun’s voice got closer, “But that’s not even half of what happened today…” I stepped out to introduce myself and he froze when he saw me, his voice trailing off. “What are you doing here?!” he sputtered, his eyes bugging out.
Oh my god it’s the guy from earlier. I thought to myself, completely horrified. “What are you doing here??” I demanded.
“What?” Jun asked, his face a mixture of disgust and bewilderment, “I live here! Are you following me or something?”
My mouth dropped, “No! I live next door!” I spat back, my eyes narrowing, “I was helping Minghao unpack.”
There was a brief pause as Jun and I glared at each other. “Uh,” Minghao piped up, eyeing the two of us, “You already know each other?”
“If you can call it knowing,” Jun scowled, turning to face Minghao with a roll of his eyes, “That’s the idiot who ruined my shirt and basically ruined my meeting.”
“It was an accident! It’s not like I saw you and thought ‘Oh hey, let me just dump my drinks all over this guy!’” I protested, also pivoting to look at Minghao, “He’s the one who bought the last toy this morning and wouldn’t let me have it!”
“Again with the toy!” Jun grumbled, “I got there first!”
“You didn’t have to be so rude about it!”
Minghao watched the two of us bickering back and forth, eyebrows raised in amusement. “Jun, why didn’t you just give her the action figure? It’s for a little kid and besides,” he gestured at the boxes in the living room, “You already have two boxes solely for your toys.”
Jun glared at his friend, his features scrunched in indignation, “Seriously man, you too? It’s mine! I bought it first!” He stalked past us and into the kitchen, “Whatever, I don’t have time for this; I’m starving.”
“I should get going,” I muttered, heading for the front door, Minghao trailing behind me, “Thanks for dinner.”
“Thanks for helping out _________, I owe you one.” he replied, opening the door for me, “I’m sorry about my roommate by the way, he literally has the mentality of a five-year old when it comes to toys. Let me know if you really can’t find another one anywhere and I’ll try to talk to him again.”
I smiled gratefully at Minghao’s kind offer, “Thanks, that’s really nice of you but I doubt he’ll give it up. I’ll see you around though! If you need anything, I’m right next door.” He gave me a cheerful goodbye wave and closed the door behind me.
I walked the five feet to my door and hovered my hand over the knob, banging my head gently against the wood. “Why does the universe hate me? Why did he of all the billions of people in the world have to end up living next door to me?”
After closing the door, Minghao headed back into the kitchen and found Jun hunched over the stove, stirring his ramen with a pair of chopsticks. “So what was that all about?”
Jun glanced over at his friend and turned back to focus on his cooking, “What was what all about?”
“The hysterics; she really got a rise out of you.”
“I wasn’t being hysterical, she was.” Jun turned around, one oven mitted hand holding the pot and began eating directly out of it. “Everything that happened today? Her fault. I was just the victim.” His eyes flickered up to see Minghao staring at him, the corners of his lips twitching. “What?”
“I’ve never seen you get so worked up over someone before,” Minghao mused, cocking his head to one side. “Even with all that happened between you guys. What’s different about her?”
Jun rolled his eyes, brushing past Minghao to sit at the dining table, “You’ve been watching too many dramas.”

But I Like One Piece (20)
They all turn to stare at him.
“Dear? How do you know that?” Okaa-san says.
Otou-san shakes his head and sits down heavily on the stairs. “The manufacturer for those weapons is in Yukigakure. Just like the incriminating ryo left at the scene of that theft.”
Oh.
Oh sweet Merry.
She mutters, “Shika said—when we were talking about the theft, he said it had to be an inside job, because an outsider couldn’t know anything. But if they were like me—if they’d read the comic based on Konoha in their past life, they would know. They’d know almost everything even if they never set foot here.”
She swallows, throat suddenly dry. “If it was plot-relevant, then they’d know more about what was valuable and how it was defended than people who’d lived here their whole lives. They’d even know the weaknesses of the ninja sent after them, if those ninja were major characters.”
Otou-san nods. “And if he or she needed to finance the manufacture of those weapons, what could be easier than to steal something from here and sell it to another hidden village?”
She sits down heavily on the stairs.
Her heart’s pounding too fast. The side of her head is throbbing in time with the beat.
“Well.” Okaa-san coughs. “That’s mildly terrifying.”
She lets out a humorless chuckle at the understatement.
Horror wars with elation in her brain. Elation at the knowledge that she isn’t alone here.
Horror at the idea of someone knowing everything about this place and deciding to use that knowledge for their own gain. If robbing Konoha wasn’t low for them, would they stoop to manipulating Naruto, Sakura, Uchiha? To hurting them to get their way, change a narrative they don’t like?
“But Iruka-sensei said Yukigakure gave us those guns for less money than they gave them to other villages.” Naruto says suddenly. “Maybe that’s the not-Mayu’s way of making it up to us?”
“You think villains who would commit such an unyouthful action would be capable of feeling guilt?” Lee says doubtfully. “Shouldn’t we tell Gai-sensei about this?”
“We can.” Otou-san sighs. “But I’m not sure how helpful it would be. Nara-san said Yamanaka-san knew about the Yuki connection between both the theft and these “guns”. For all we know, the price reduction could be a concession negotiated between the Hokage and the thief, and we just have a morsel of knowledge about that deal which would endanger Mayu more than it would help the village.”
She fidgets, tracing the scar on her lower lip.
Lee’s brows are furrowed, his mouth pulled down in a frown.
Okaa-san reaches out and smooths a hand over his hair. “Why don’t we get Ichiraku’s and sleep on it? I think Sanji would agree we’ll all make better decisions with some ramen in our bellies.”
Naruto springs to his feet. “Yeah! Ramen’ll fix everything, believe it! C’mon, I’m hungry, let’s go, let’s go!”
It doesn’t quite fix everything, she reflects later as she descales and fillets the pike for the offerings tomorrow. There’s still another reincarnated person who robbed the village, had her father take the fall for their crime, and is now mass-producing the very weapon that killed her past self, which they can do next to nothing about.
But ramen smoothed out the crease in Lee’s brow when they all agreed it was better to tell Gai-sensei than not. It lightened the mood and made everything this day had thrown at them seem a little less important in light of the celebrations planned for tomorrow.
Their small garden is now even smaller thanks to the a large wooden structure that sits next to the back fence.
It’s a bit like a cross between a shed and a greenhouse, if it only had three walls and no doors or windows. The roof is curved and the walls are sturdy, to protect the shrines inside from the elements.
There’s a length of thick white rope fastened with red twine inside the front gable, which is meant to ensure that the shrines are protected from malicious spirits.
Each one of the shrines has a small building that is sealed automatically once the shrine has been assembled, keeping a small object for the deity to inhabit safely locked away from prying eyes. There’s a small recess before this structure, for offerings to be placed, and a little column that puts them above the eye level of a kneeling person.
They’d debated setting aside a space for the shrines in the living room inside the house, to ensure they could be protected and cared for. But she kept getting impulses of outside, of wind and rain, freedom, that eventually they decided it was better than keeping them cooped up inside.
Plus this way, Luffy can’t raid the fridge as easily.
She’s already found certain small cuts of cooked meat have gone missing. If he’s anything like the manga, then she’s not giving him the chance to clean out the entire fridge.
They’ve been working on constructing it and the shrines on weekends and in the mornings during training. According to Gai-sensei, it’s excellent practice for C-rank missions.
Now all that’s left is to paint the structure and the ten shrines housed within.
Working out what to set out as offerings for tomorrow had been a challenge and a half.
For the most part, the Strawhats can be grouped into small sections of what they will and won’t eat.
Nami and Chopper are fruit lovers. Sanji, Zoro, Brook and Usopp are partial to seafood. Luffy, Franky, and Robin are happy with beef and other land-based meats.
However, Zoro, Sanji and Brook like varieties of seafood that are difficult to get in Konoha— octopus, lobster and prawns are expensive and hard to find, while sea king meat just doesn’t exist here. At least Zoro is happy enough with a traditional plate-2-bowls meal with rice.
Robin prefers sandwiches, and she’s not quite sure if the burgers Franky loves fit into that criteria. Chopper can’t stand spicy or bitter foods, but Zoro and Robin dislike sweets.
She’s just thankful that Luffy, Nami Usopp, and Merry are so easy to feed. Pike’s one of the few fish that Konoha doesn’t need to import, so it and tangerines relatively inexpensive.
There’s no chance of combining all their preferences into one dish. Her head hurts just imagining the clash of flavors.
So she had to somehow come up with a way of creating a meal that would (hopefully) make each of the pirates she idolizes happy.
No pressure.
Chouji ended up being her savior in this respect.
And maybe Uchiha did as well, but only a teeny tiny bit.
She’d been brainstorming different versions of meals she could try making that would satisfy everyone, but kept coming up short.
The added tension from Sakura’s friendly-again-but-still-not-quite-sitting-back-at-their-table thing at this time wasn’t exactly helping her think either.
“I’ve got cola, coffee, tea, heck even sake, but still no idea on what to pair any of them with.” She complained, tapping her pencil against the list in front of her.
Chouji had leaned over, a thoughtful look on his face. “Why not make them lunchboxes? That way you can make lots of things in smaller amounts and personalize each lunchbox for each of them.”
“Hm. That is a good idea.” She gnawed on her lower lip. “Only downside is working out when I can cook what and how much time the preparation of each portion is going so everything in the bentos is relatively fresh for when it’s offered... how much d’you think eleven more lunchboxes would cost?”
She’d just begun sketching out lines for a tentative timetable when Uchiha complained, “Why do you think you’ve gotta do everything on your own?”
She looked up, a little offended. “I’m not praying for help with this, are you mad? That’d be like asking someone to bake their own birthday cake.”
“What Sasuke means,” Chouji intervened. “Is that we could always split the work three-ways between us, and bring it to your house on the day?”
She blinked. “You...you guys would help me like that?”
Chouji smiled, then made a squeak of surprise when she lunged over the table to hug him tightly. “Thank you.”
“I have lunchboxes to spare.” Uchiha drawled. “Plus someone’s got to make sure you don’t mess up.”
She had then let Chouji go so she could boot Uchiha in the shin.
As a result of this arrangement, when she wakes up on The Day, all she has to worry about is preparing the pasta for Sanji, Nami and Usopp’s lunchboxes after training with Gai-sensei.
She’s almost worried that her timining be a little delayed because Gai-sensei grabs her in a bone-creaking hug when she arrives at training and spends about three minutes weeping over how youthful she is.
He then makes them run fifty times around the village balancing the paint pots they’ll be using later to ensure that the paint is agitated enough “so its most YOUTHFUL colors will shine through!!”
They nearly lose the purple when Naruto fumbles slightly over a root.
She bolts down her food at breakfast.
She puts on more rice again in preparation for the sesame onigiri, and pulls out a pot to fill with water that’s set to boil and a pan to gently heat some oil on the stove.
She smashes a clove of garlic and drops it in when the oil has begun to smoke gently, deseeding and dicing up some chilis and tossing them in as well for flavor.
She can’t help her grin when the heady spicy-savory scent fills the air, finely chopping capers and anchovies to toss in once she’s fished out the smashed garlic.
The scent mellows somewhat when the diced pike hits the pan as well, and she pushes it around until the fish is almost-but-not-quite cooked through.
Then in with a generous glug of wine and the heat is turned down to a gentle simmer to let the alcohol cook off.
Just in time for the rice to have cooked and cooled enough to begin mixing with yellow and black sesame seeds and begin forming into ten onigiri.
They don’t have any fillings other than the sesame, because they’re designed to take the edge off the stronger flavors of the pasta (her) and the takoyaki (Chouji), as well as serve as a substitute for a sesame topped bun accompanying the hamburger steaks (Uchiha).
The others begin to arrive at around ten.
Sakura and the Harunos arrive first alongside Ino and her dad.
She shouts a hello as Naruto and Lee lead Ino and Sakura through the kitchen to the back garden, nails orange with peeled tangerine.
Ino darts forward and steals two slices, chortling in response to her indignant “Oi!” and passing one to Sakura, who grins as she nibbles on their way out.
Yamanaka-san is totally at home chatting with Gai-sensei and Otou-san, but he snickers when Nara-san immediately gravitates towards him when he arrives. Shikamaru gives her a nod as he follows the adults outside and she puts the pasta on to boil.
She’s set aside two extra tangerines for when Shino and his father arrive. After all, she, Chouji and Uchiha are making enough to feed eleven deities and many many people, so shouldn’t their insects also be able to eat as well?
Shino’s dad stares at her inscrutably when she explains her reasoning, before accepting the fruit with a nod and a “thank you” barely audible over a loud buzzing.
Shino shifts from one foot to the other during this exchange before gently tugging his father’s sleeve. It occurs to her as she drains the pot-full pasta and adds the sauce alongside a cup of boiling water to emulsify everything that this might be the closest she’s ever seen him to being embarrassed.
Chouji and his dad arrive as she’s sprinkling in some parsley as a finishing touch.
They’re both carrying huge containers full of takoyaki and cooked spring greens, and she spares a small moment to be envious of all the amazing things Chouji’s family can afford to do.
Then she launches Chouji another hug to thank him for all his help once he’s set his cargo down.
He squeaks like he did last time and Akimichi-san laughs loudly, for some reason.
Iruka-sensei and Uchiha arrive with eleven lunchboxes, two dogs, Kiba and his mum, and Hinata in tow.
Uchiha keeps sneaking what appear to be morsels of meat to Akamaru and Kuromaru.
There’s also a pale-eyed frowning boy who Iruka-sensei introduces as Hyuuga Neji, Hinata’s cousin who’d been sent along to act as her chaperone.
The boy sniffs disdainfully when they greet him and goes to stand in a corner of the garden near Mebuki, completely ignoring Lee when he waves to him.
She doesn’t think she likes Hinata’s cousin very much.
The lunchboxes Uchiha brought are black lacquer decorated with gold and red tomoe, much fancier than anything she’d been expecting.
When questioned, he just shrugs and says, “It’s just old stuff from New Year’s. It’s just taking up space at home, so it’s better off here.”
She knows better than to say anything like “sorry”, so she just pats his shoulder and says “No, that compartment’s too small for the onigiri, put it in this one.”
“That’s way too big, it looks tiny in that one.” Uchiha snaps, but with a bit less bite than usual.
Iruka-sensei looks mildly overwhelmed by all the people in the back garden. Okaa-san comes along, hands him a drink, pats his shoulder and says “They’re in my house,” in a sympathetic tone.
Iruka-sensei gives her a pitying look and knocks the sake back in one go.
Adults here can be weird.
Finally they’ve finished serving and she calls out “Food’s up!”
The adults come in to help take the larger platters of food outside, a huge plate of pasta, several smaller hamburger steaks in the style of what they’d call “sliders” in her world, and mound upon mound of takoyaki and spring greens and tangerines.
There’s a clamor outside as people begin getting their portions.
She, Chouji and Uchiha are each balancing either three or four lunchboxes per person as they take them outside.
Sakura is helping Kiba paint a pattern of cherry blossoms across Chopper’s already vibrantly pink shrine. Evidence of her handiwork on Robin’s shrine is clear is the decoration of swirling petals and the streaks of matching purple paint all over her forehead.
Ino and Naruto obviously have had a battle over the orange judging by the splashes on their hands and clothing. On the plus side Nami and Luffy’s shrines are looking particularly colorful.
Shikamaru and Hinata are splotched with green, light blue and black-and-white. Lee is smudged with brown, cyan and white paint and beaming proudly.
Shino has yellow paint on the end of his nose and is looking at the detailed illustrations of insects on the sides with pride.
The only shrines that aren’t quite done are Sanji’s, which has a blue overcoat but no decoration, and Zoro’s which doesn’t have half its roof painted yet.
“We were waiting,” Naruto says, holding out two buckets of green paint and blue respectively, “For you guys to add your bits.”
She beams at him.
Of course, Uchiha has to ruin it by immediately grabbing the green.
“What?” He says, offloading his three lunchboxes onto Kiba. “I’ll give it back once I’m finished with it.”
Ino rolls her eyes and shoulders her paintbrush, adding another orange splotch to her outfit. “Ugh. I’ll help Mayu-chan, it’s better to get it done quickly. Let’s go before the food gets cold.”
Orange, red, and yellow fish on the blue background are much more vibrant and eye-catching than green, though Uchiha does “help” by flicking the paintbrush at her while she’s distracted.
In thanks, she smears yellow on the back of his neck.
After the extra decorations are finished, Lee, Sakura and Kiba redistribute the lunchboxes to make their offerings.
The only problem is there’s eleven of them and ten lunchboxes.
“You all go ahead.” She steps back. “I’ll do the next bit.”
Each one of them place the pirate lunchboxes down in front of the shrines and step back.
For some reason, she feels like traditional prayers and chants appropriated from the sage guy won’t really be all that welcoming to them.
But then, what? What could help them feel at home at these shrines, so far from the sea?
Her gaze falls on Brook’s shrine.
Oh.
Oh, well it’s obvious when it’s put like that, isn’t it?
She just hopes she remembers the words correctly. She doesn’t want to butcher them on accident.
“Yohohoho, yohohoho~ Yohohoho, yohohoho~”
Her voice sounds frail and quiet, and she can feel everyone’s eyes on her. Still, she stumbles through the last two refrains of yohohoho’s to the first verse.
“Binksu no sake wo, todokei ni yuku yo, umikaze, kimakase, namimakase~ Shio no mukou de, yuhi wo sawagu, sora nya, wao kaku tori no uta~”
Naruto joins in on the next verse, singing along slightly out of tune and mixing up some of the words.
His cheeks look as flushed as hers feel, and it’s hard not to giggle when they catch each other’s eyes. Somehow they both manage to keep singing.
Gai-sensei and Lee boisterously shout DON alongside them as they join as well, Gai-sensei’s voice strong and sure, while Lee’s volume makes up for any deficiencies in wording. She almost can’t hear Okaa-san’s melodious voice and Otou-san’s decidedly tone-deaf one join in on the second set of Yohohoho’s over their noise.
Sakura and Ino’s voices are both high-pitched, but they carry the tune well enough. So does Kiba, though he’s pitching up to a falsetto for some reason. Hinata’s voice is soft, but she’s genuinely singing, unlike Shikamaru and Sasuke who’re mumbling through all the bits apart from the yohohoho’s. Shino is monotone if precise and enthusiastic, while Chouji has a surprising set of pipes on him.
Akamaru is just howling to the beat. And with that accompaniment, how could anyone stop themselves from singing along?
It feels like more people than could possibly fit into their house and garden are bellowing Bink’s Sake together by the time they’ve reached the third set of Yohohoho’s.
It can’t exactly be called “harmonious”. Everyone’s a little out of tune, a little off beat.
But the mixing of all the voices of her family and friends feels so right, it makes her voice stronger, lets her sing louder.
She opens her eyes and nearly chokes on the next note.
Hovering in front of the brightly painted shrines, slightly faded but gaining color and substance with every passing moment, They stand.
Merry appears in all her glory, as if in mid- sail. Brook is playing his violin, a foot tapping to the beat. Franky is winding up for his SUPA pose, grinning broadly. Robin is resting a hand on Chopper’s hat. Chopper himself is peeking at them the wrong way round from Robin’s leg.
Sanji’s tapping out his cigarette with a grin and giving a small salute. Usopp is waving to them, like a captain would to his 8,000 followers. Nami’s blowing a kiss as if to adoring fans.
Zoro...is climbing over the garden fence and jogging to take his place in front his shrine next to the others. Nami shoots him a Look while Luffy laughs at him, sitting in mid air and clapping his feet together.
The Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates then turns to her and gives her a wide grin.
She blinks away tears as he and his crew fade away with the last notes of the song.
The food in the lunchboxes is gone.
The food on Naruto’s plate is also gone.
In fact, all the food in the immediate vicinity appears to be gone.
It’s just that Naruto looks down at his plate and yells in indignation first.
She lets out a wet laugh. “Darn it Luffy.”

A/N: It is finally over! Only 3 parts, but I spent a lot of time on it so I really hope you guys like it, please let me know! Also, I forgot to tag people in part 2 and decided to just wait till I posted this one. Please select part 1 or 2 based on what you missed. So sorry!!
(part 1) (part 2)
Your trek to the local Korean restaurant was rather eventful. Not only did Keigo lead the conversation by talking about himself, which helped in calming your nerves, but you were both stopped repeatedly for photos. Although Hawks was much more famous than you, you were still asked to join the photos more often than not which was rather endearing in the grand scheme of things.
When you arrived at the restaurant, you were immediately ushered to a table and given water and tea. You politely thanked the waitress who told you she would be back with the complimentary appetizers. You bowed slightly while Hawks casually leaned back in his chair and stretched his wings.
She seemed to be an older lady and probably the owner of the restaurant, making politeness seem more necessary than usual to you.
Luckily, the two of you were sitting in a private area, something Hawks requested when you first entered the restaurant. His want for privacy made your heart thump in an unfamiliar way. On top of that, the area was dimly lit with almost ethereal lights that shined on Takami’s skin in a perfect way.
Your obvious looks to the hero did not go unnoticed and Hawks eventually decided to speak up. “You know, in Korean culture, the younger person should pour the elder the drink,” Keigo smirked while glossing over the menu.
“And what makes you think I’m younger?” You snapped back, your own cheeky smile glossing over your lips while you also busied yourself with reading over the menu to try and look as carefree as your soulmate seemed.
Hawks’ unrestrained laughter caught your attention and you looked back to him. “I know you are younger,” He explained, “It’s not like our birthdays are hidden from the world.”
“Oh?” You perked. You reached forward to grab the kettle of tea, giving Hawks a cue to hold up his small glass. You poured the hot, steeped tea while he presented his cup to you delicately. “So you did research on me?” You questioned once done pouring his glass.
“Why wouldn’t I look up the cute hero I had plans to meet today?” Keigo countered before blowing on the steaming tea and taking a sip.
A faint blush found its way onto your cheeks which Hawks immediately noticed. Before you had a chance to quip back, the waitress made her way to the table with a platter of small appetizers. You recognized a few of them immediately and suddenly became much more aware of your growling stomach. The japchae, kimchi, and seaweed salad stared back at you and you immediately opened your metal chopsticks.
“Thank you,” You commented while looking up to the waitress.
“Of course,” She replied, nodding slightly as a bow. “Are you ready to order?”
You looked at Hawks with a questioning face and nodded slightly to tell him you were ready. He smiled and looked to the waitress, “Yes, we are. Can I please have the chicken hot stone bowl?”
The lady nodded, wrote down his order, and looked at you. “And can I please have the veggie dumpling ramen with medium spice?” You added.
“Of course,” The waitress spoke while grabbing up your menus. “It will be right out.”
“So,” Hawks began once you were once again left alone, “Tell me more about you than can’t be found on a website.”
When you looked to meet Hawks’ eyes you saw a rather fond glint in them. They seemed soft which was difficult to do considering the sharp, black designs that outlined his goldeneyes. If you weren’t mistaken, it seemed the bird boy was genuinely interested in learning about someone else, a feat that not many people could say they’ve conquered. Takami was known for being closed-off in his social life, enjoying the company of few, but being charming enough to attract the company of all.
“Well, there’s not much to tell.” You took a small sip of the glass of water. “I always wanted to be a hero. I mean, who doesn’t when they’re younger, but with a quirk like mine it seemed rude not to become a hero,” You recounted, remembering all the people who told you your time stopping quirk could stop villainy altogether. “So, I went to U.A.” You shrugged your shoulders.
“So, you felt pressured to be a hero?” Hawks inquired.
“I guess?” You replied, “I don’t think about it very much.”
“Well, what about your quirk?” Hawks asked, a small smile graced his lips. “It must have been crazy to lie about your quirk for so long.”
You sighed and ran your hand through your hair. “Yeah, it was. I don’t know why I lied about it for so long.” You looked down at your lap. “In all honesty, it felt like I dug myself into a hole. I kept trying to just forget about it, but every time I went on a mission, I had to be careful to make it seem like I was teleporting.”
While you spoke, Hawks nodded periodically. It seemed like he really was paying attention which was something you really appreciated.
You looked down and bit your lip, it was hard to talk about how miserable you were sometimes. Especially with someone you just met. Even if he is your soulmate, it goes against natural human instincts to share so much of yourself right away.
Hawks noticed your reluctance to share and quickly changed the topic to something else. “What do you do in your free time?” He asked, leading the question in a more positive direction.
“Oh, this and that,” You laughed while pushing your hair away from your face. “Training, reading, hanging out with friends, and relaxing would probably summarize my free time the most. What about you?” You questioned before picking up your tea and taking a sip.
“Ah,” Hawks sighed. He followed you in taking a sip of your tea. “I don’t have much free time.”
Fuck.
You felt like such an idiot for asking. Obviously he doesn’t have free time! He’s the number two hero, he owns his own agency. Even right now, he is probably worried about how he looks and is coming across. No matter how private this area looks, you were sure there were paparazzi lurking around every corner and fangirls just begging for him to slip up and lose his rank in approval.
“Sorry,” You mumbled before grabbing your water and taking a few big gulps to avoid meeting his eyes.
“Don’t be,” Hawks nonchalantly consoled, a sympathetic smile spreading on his face. “I want the world to one day be so free from villainy that everyone, even heroes, are relaxed. I want to just kick back, you know? It’s gonna take hard work to get there and I plan to get there within my lifetime.”
A shy grin spread across your face. You looked at your lap to hide the blush you were currently nursing. It seemed Hawks was a very brave and passionate hero, something that could be considered very admirable and attractive.
Handsome, funny, and a kindhearted personality that made his wings seem like angel wings. This wasn’t like the Hawks you had read about. The confident, almost arrogant, man was covering many tabloids. It seemed everyone was trying to find out if the winged hero was really all that great and strong.
“You don’t have to hide your blush,” Hawks insisted, causing you to look up just in time to see the waitress carrying both your dishes.
You had gotten so caught up in the conversation that you barely ate any of the appetizers so far. You resisted pouting and reaching for the seaweed salad that was almost gone and instead smiled as the waitress placed your ramen in front of you.
Once she left, you snatched up the seaweed salad before Hawks could eat all of it. The blond laughed at your childish action and raised his hands up in surrender.
“Sorry,” You mumbled before using your chopsticks to grab some salad and stuffing your face full.
Hawks’ glorious laugh once again rang through the private area, making you feel much better. “I’m just glad my soulmate loves food as much as me.” He reasoned while picking at his bowl as if to find the perfect bite.
“Yeah,” You grinned, looking into Keigo’s eyes. “Isn’t it crazy?”
“That we both love food?” Takami joked. His smile made his cheeks look like apples and his eyes like crescent moons.
“No, you idiot,” You scolded. If he was close enough, you would have definitely slapped Hawks on his arm.
The winged hero laughed in reply once more. “It is,” He confirmed, “But it’s totally worth it. The craziness now should be worth it in the end.” Hawks sighed loudly and leaned back in his chair. “And trust me, life is crazy.” He ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes.
For the first time, you noticed just how tired Hawks was. His wings were just a tad bit lower than when you were standing together on a stage in front of an audience. With these dim lights and close proximity, you were finally able to see the sunspots on his skin and purple bags under his eyes.
It made you all the more aware that your soulmate was busy and tired. It made you nervous that you might just be another chore for the winged hero. Just another person he has to take care of.
You gulped down the lump in your throat and nodded. “Yeah,” You vaguely replied before turning your attention to your ramen. You picked at the noodles while you continued to debate your relationship with Hawks.
“Hey,” You heard Takami’s soft voice speak up. Your nondominant hand, which had been placed on the table, was suddenly being held by the calloused hands of Hawks. You looked up to the golden boy to see his eyes filled with worry, his eyebrows furrowed, and a frown on his lips. “What’s wrong?” He inquired.
His warm hand encased yours and his thumb rubbed back and forth across the back of your hand.
“I’m okay,” You mumbled, “Nothing’s wrong.” You shook your head and looked back down.
“No,” Hawks countered, holding onto your hand tighter. “I can tell something is wrong. Please tell me, Y/L/N-kun.”
Hearing your name on his lips was something to behold. No Telethon. You aren’t a hero having dinner with another hero. You are having dinner with your soulmate. If you started your relationship based on lies, it would constantly be lies.
“I,” You stumbled, “I’m worried about you. Or more so our relationship.” You motioned in between the two of you and looked up at Hawks to see just how attentively he was watching and listening to you. “You are a busy man and I don’t want to burden you,” You clarified.
A few beats of silence and then the sound of Hawks once again sighing. His free hand came up to his face and pinched the bridge of his nose.
During those seconds, you worried that he was going to tell you that in fact, you were a burden. You weren’t strong enough to protect yourself. You weren’t famous enough to stand next to him. You lied about your quirk and would bring down his approval rating.
“You aren’t going to burden me,” He ensured. His free hand moved to hold your other hand which was now resting on the table. Luckily, the table was small enough so neither of you were awkwardly leaning over your dishes. “You are my soulmate,” He continued, “And that doesn’t mean we are simply stuck together. It means that we are destined to make each other better people. You will never burden me.”
A small smile found its way onto your lips. “Thank you,” You whispered.
Hawks face mirrored yours. Tired eyes and smiles.
“Listen,” Hawks finally spoke up. “I could sit here all day admiring how beautiful you are, but I am so hungry and this chicken smells so good.”
Without realizing, you began laughing at his joke and leaned back, letting go of his hands. “Yes,” You insisted, “Let’s eat. Let’s stop worrying.”
“Agreed,” Hawks murmured before digging into his food.
By now, your ramen had enough time to cool down and you were able to scarf it down fast. For the rest of your dinner, you and Hawks casually chatted while digging into your food.
Eventually, the bill came and Hawks immediately put down his credit card.
By the time you left, you were in a much better mood. You were simply enjoying the company of Takami.
“Ooh,” Hawks gushed. He grabbed your hand and pulled you across the parking lot of the complex you were in. “Ice cream!”
You laughed at the childish antics of your date. And followed him as he practically glided towards the small ice cream store. It was a fairly cold night and definitely not one for ice cream considering the rain from this morning.
Regardless, Hawks was still determined to eat the delicious creamy treat.
A bell rang when you walked through the door. You were greeted by two shocked faces of teenagers. After the workers and few guests inside calmed down, you and Hawks were able to order each of your respective cones of ice cream.
This time, you insisted on paying.
The two of your left shoulder to shoulder, each of you licking at your ice cream cones.
“Where do you live?” Hawks mindlessly mumbled. “Is it far from here?”
“Oh, not too far,” You replied. “Maybe a twenty-five-minute walk from here?”
You were currently sitting at a small table outside of the creamery, debating what to do next.
“I could fly you home,” Keigo suggested. “I’d probably get there in 10.”
“Aw,” You joked, “And lose 15 minutes with you?” You nudged him with your shoulder and caused the winged hero to chuckle.
“Nah,” He replied, “We would just spend that 15 minutes doing something else.” He winked, causing you to blush and choke on the ice cream in your mouth.
Keigo laughed even harder and you shoved him harshly with your empty hand. “Jeez, you are too confident, Takami-kun.”
“Ahh,” The blond sighed, “My name sounds so good coming from you.” A lazy yet confident smile found its way onto his face and he slowly licked his lips, causing you to become aware of the cool wind blowing past your hot skin.
You took another bite out of your ice cream to cool you down, suddenly way too nervous to even think about kissing the hero in front of you.
“Nervous?” Takami asked, leaning forward to force you to look at him in the eyes.
“Maybe,” You mumbled, keeping your attention on your ice cream.
Hawks practically cackled at your response. Once his laughter died down, he looked at your blushing face and confidently asked, “How can you be so cute?”
You bit your lip and took a few breaths before looking at Takami. You scrunched up your face and pointed your finger at him, “Listen here, you better stop saying stuff like that or else.”
“Or else what?” Hawks challenged. A coy smile fell upon his lips and there was a glint in his eyes just begging you to do something.
“Or else I’ll have no choice, but to actually kiss you. In front of all these people.” You smirked at the blond and motioned to the busy complex. “Our relationship will get released in the papers before your managers have any time to prepare. They will hate you,” You hissed, hoping the threat would work.
“Like I care,” Hawks shrugged.
“Then kiss me,” You demanded, deciding to stand your ground instead of faltering back because of his confidence.
You watched the smirk on Keigo’s face disappear. His mouth formed an ‘O’ shape and his blown eyes stared at you nervously. “I can’t,” He mumbled in defeat.
You laughed at his actions and cheered in excitement. “I knew it!”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” He mumbled before digging into the cone part of his ice cream cone.
You laughed lightly before leaning towards Takami to whisper in his ear, “We’ll just kiss back at my apartment,” You tittered.
The comment grabbed Hawks’ attention, who smiled happily and lightly flapped his wings. It was just enough to make the area windy and get him about a foot off his feet before he stopped and plopped back down into the seat.
You laughed at your soulmate before finishing off your ice cream cone. You crumpled up the small wrapper and grabbed Keigo’s which he left on the table and tossed them. “Shall we go?” You asked, holding out your hand for him to take.
“Of course,” He replied, allowing you to help him up.
You two strolled through the streets to your apartment. Keigo offered multiple times to fly, but you insisted on walking. “I like seeing all the citizens I protect,” You reasoned, shrugging your shoulders and looking at Keigo.
The blond smiled and wrapped his arm around your waist.
You invited him up to your apartment and grabbed each of you a glass of water while Hawks curiously wandered around the apartment, looking at all of your belongings.
You spent most of the night chatting until the blond couldn’t help it anymore and kissed you. His soft lips graced your cheek and ear. His hot breath asked if he could kiss you.
With a meek nod, Hawks’ lips were all over you.
A shock ran through your body when his lips first attached to yours. You were sure it was something only soulmates felt when they kissed because you really had never felt this way before.
After what seemed like only seconds, or maybe minutes or hours. You really had no clue. Anyways, after some amount of time, Hawks pulled away and looked at his phone. “I’m so sorry, I have to go.”
You saw the clock read midnight and you really couldn’t blame him although you craved for him to spend the night.
“That’s okay,” You sighed, trying to regain your composure. “I’m sure you have a busy day tomorrow.” You bit your lip and gave yourself a push to ask the question that was on the tip of your tongue. “Do you have any idea when we will see each other again?”
Hawks sighed. “Tomorrow. Come at noon to my agency and we’ll get lunch.”
“Really?” You giddily asked, not expecting to see him so quickly.
“I promise.” Hawks pulled his jacket back on, it had been discarded during the heated makeout session, and a little red book fell out.
“What’s this?” You asked as you picked it up and read the label.
Paranormal Liberation Front.
“Oh, I’ve been meaning to ask you if you’ve read it,” Hawks spoke while snatching the book from your hands. “These guys have really been growing lately, gaining tons of attention. It may be old, but it still has a lot of power for today’s society. I know it’s long, so just read the highlighted parts.” He opened the book to flash you a random page with yellow highlights all over it. “Destro’s ideals are everything we could have asked for! A society where everyone can look out or themselves, it really fits this era!”
You took the book from Takami’s hands, too distracted to respond.
The speech he just gave you did not seem like him. Although it wasn’t like you knew very much about him anyways. “Yeah,” You sighed while tossing the book onto your coffee table.
You saw Takami out the door and he kissed you on the cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow, love.” He whispered in your ear.
You smiled and waved goodbye to your soulmate. Once your door was closed, you let out a large breath you had been holding in. You stretched out your limbs and began your nighttime routine.
~~
It was currently noon the next day and you walked through the double doors into Hawks’ agency. You, unfortunately, had to go straight to work after your lunch meeting so you were sporting your heroes uniform. It didn’t bother you too much considering you would be with Takami who was always in his hero uniform.
You were currently working a grin as you walked up to the front desk and told the receptionist that you had plans with Hawks.
“Ah yes, Telethon, of course,” The receptionist spoke. “Please have a seat right over there and someone will be right down to grab you.”
Although it sparked you as weird that Hawks wouldn’t just come down to greet you, you waved off the worry and happily sat down. Nothing could ruin today.
You had already called your manager and best friend to tell them the news. It was only a matter of time till you and Takami were official and you wanted your manager and best friend to be ready.
Eventually, a man came down to grab you. He was wearing a casual suit and had an earpiece on.
“Yes sir, I’ll bring up Telethon now,” You heard him whisper into the bluetooth device.
You stood up, well aware they were coming for you. “Hello,” You greeted with a small bow.
The person who came to grab you did not bow and instead simply motioned for you to follow. “Please come with me,” He mumbled.
Although concerned with the mystery surrounding your invitation to the company, you followed. You assumed you would mainly be working with Keigo. You did not expect to have to go through multiple people just to see him.
However, maybe this was just what it was like as the number two hero.
The trip up to the 13th floor was quiet and unbearably long. There was an awkward air around you both and it gave you this weird feeling. As if the person you were with knew something you didn’t.
Once the elevator dinged, you followed him through the halls. Eventually, he opened a door for you and mumbled out, “Please go in.”
You smiled and mumbled a small “Thank you.” Once you entered, you noticed multiple people sitting at an oblong table.
Your eyes flashed around the room to look at every one. First and foremost, you noticed your manager. Next, you noticed the manager who was with Hawks at the competition yesterday. Lastly, you noticed another manager sitting right next to him.
Everyone stood up once they saw you and you heard the click of the door closing behind you.
Immediately, you stopped time, unable to think clearly.
You needed time to think.
The unease in your stomach spread to your throat and your heart began to beat all too fast. You felt your sweat drip from the back of your neck to down your spine. You gulped down the lump in your throat and started time again, knowing that stalling the inevitable was worthless.
Your manager was motioning for you to sit next to them. Silently, you moved to take your seat.
About 10 feet away from you were two incredibly average looking people. They each looked so plain and stern. However, most of all, all you could think about was where is Takami?
You knew something was wrong. Tears swelled in your eyes and you looked down to hide them. You saw a single teardrop onto the shaking hands in your lap. You took in a deep breath and croaked out, “Why am I here?”
“Telethon, we are here because of your forming relationship with Hawks,” The female spoke, her voice rather curt.
The use of hero names irked you to no end. Before they could continue to speak, you looked back up to meet their eyes. “I’m Y/L/N Y/N, he is Takami Keigo and we are soulmates. Don’t belittle that if you are here to end it,” You hissed through seething teeth.
“Please, Y/L/N-san,” Your manager spoke, looking at you with pity in their eyes. “Please listen to them.”
Reluctantly, you looked back to the people across the table. “Go ahead,” You mumbled.
“Tele-Y/L/N-san, Takami-san is on a very important mission right now,” The male manager across the table explained. “We cannot give you explicit details, but it is vital to the safety of Musutafu that he remains undercover and does not date you now.”
“It would not only put his life in danger but also yours. We cannot take that risk,” The woman added.
There was a ringing in your ears that wouldn’t go away. In order to help you think clearly, you stopped time.
You felt so helpless. Like the world was coming crashing down on you. Through last night and today, all you thought about was how happy you now were. How happy Takami made you feel.
Without thinking clearly, you exited the room. Although your lungs were already beginning to burn, you pushed through and searched the hallway.
You had to find him.
You had to find Keigo.
Nobody could see you wandering around. You had a sinking suspicion that everyone at this agency knew your secret and you were determined to find him without the help of anyone else.
Knowing Hawks, although you only met him yesterday, he was probably on the top floor. Of course he would want to be high in the sky when he launched himself with his wings. You couldn’t use the elevator with time frozen so you ran up the stairs as fast as you could. If you weren’t right about him being on the top floor, you would have no time, no breath left, to keep searching.
Once you climbed up the 7 additional floors, you paced through the hall in an attempt to find Takami. There were no labels on the doors, so you had to open each and every single one to see if you could find him.
Eventually, finally, you opened a door to see Keigo nervously sitting on his sofa. He was sitting perfectly still and his bright wings were gray because of your quirk. Despite the stillness of his wings, you could see they had been nervously flapping like one would do with their legs when nervous.
You started time, took a deep breath in, and practically leaped at Hawks.
“Takami-kun,” You cried, falling to your knees and grabbing his hands.
Although shocked, Hawks still caught you to the best of his abilities. His wings no longer flapped because he was too shocked by your appearance. He did not expect you to run from the meeting, but here you were, right in front of him.
“Y/L/N-kun,” He whispered. You looked at him and he caressed your cheek and swept his finger across it to wipe away a tear that had fallen from your eyes. “Why are you here?”
“I had to see you,” You reasoned. “I need to hear you say it yourself.”
Takami’s phone rang.
You held him close, worried he would answer it, and direct you back to the meeting.
“Just tell me, please,” You begged.
“Sweetheart,” He mumbled, the endearing words falling from his lips. He never expected to see you like this. Yes, it was hard on him, but he had been trained since his childhood to dissociate. You were never trained to forget people easily, let alone your soulmate. “I know this hurts.” He pulled you up onto his lap and held you tightly. “I don’t want to put you in danger.”
“Please just tell me,” You pleaded. “Tell me what you can tell me and then I’ll go.”
Takami sighed, “Fine.” He ran his hand through his hair and took off his goggles.
You could tell he was worried, not irritated. He didn’t want to put you in harm's way. Before you could stop yourself, you kissed his cheek to try and calm his nerves, something that sent heat up his neck.
“I am working with some bad people,” He explained. “If I date you, then you’ll be a target. I can’t let that happen and I can’t say anything more. Please just read the book I gave you.” His golden eyes bore into yours. “Remember, read the highlights.”
You nodded at him with wide eyes, finally being forced to accept your fate.
The blond knew he should send you back now, he was sure people were on their way up to grab you. But he just couldn’t let go when you looked so weak and soft. He craved to continue to hold you and he knew this somehow related to the soulmate bond. He knew this was the last time he could hold you for a while. And so he held on tight. He held you tighter and kissed the top of your head.
He didn’t know how long it was, but eventually, security came up and you two had to part. The last he saw was you exiting the room with your head hung low. The image of you crying played on repeat in his head and made it all the much harder for him to forget you.
On your end, you were ushered back into the conference room and given a glass of water. After you chugged down the cup, you were handed a contract.
“Please take your time to read it over, we constructed it with your manager before this meeting,” The female manager spoke up. “Overall, it details that we cannot have you see Hawks, I mean Takami-san. This contract is to last six months. We are hoping it may be able to be canceled, but it also might have to be extended. As we said, Takami-san is under-”
“I know,” You interrupted and your eyes glossed over the contract. “I understand. I, um, I just had to hear it from Takami-kun,” You reasoned. You knew you must have looked crazy. Your hair was a mess and your eyes were surely red.
You just wanted to get this over with, fix up your appearance, and go to work.
You looked to your manager who nodded and reassuringly touched your hand. “I’m sorry,” He mouthed.
You nodded and finished reading the contract. You grabbed the pen on the table and signed each page. You said you goodbyes and followed your manager out of the building, not paying much attention to anything that was happening.
“Y/L/N-san,” Your manager sighed. “I’m so sorry.”
You meekly nodded as your manager ushered you into a private cab.
“I arranged for someone to cover your shift today,” Your manager debriefed. “I also arranged for Bubble Girl to come over with takeout and anything else she may deem necessary.” Your manager once again grabbed your hand. “I want you to be as happy as you can during a time like this.”
“Thank you,” You whispered. You wished you could show your happiness better, but it was too difficult to right now. As a result, you simply went through the motions of your day.
You got home and were greeted by your best friend, takeout, a punching bag, and face masks. You got out all your stress by punching your feelings out. You then showered and ate food while doing face masks and watching old movies. You smiled through the pain as you wished her a goodnight. You laid on your bed and cried again while looking up Takami on social media.
Eventually, around midnight, you ran out of tears. You sat up in your bed and chugged more water. You felt helpless, empty, like nothing in the world could make you happy.
It wasn’t very common that you felt this depressed, but a soulmate bond could have some major impacts on people. All day, you had been thinking of a story where two people died because they tried to ignore their bond. No matter how strong-willed Takami could be, and no matter how much you cared about keeping him safe, this could take a major toll on your mind and body.
You felt utterly defeated like there was nothing left to do. You couldn’t fight against the contract because it was only in place to protect you and you couldn’t help Hawks in his mission either.
You literally couldn’t do anything.
All you could do was go about your life and wait.
Or maybe…
You immediately stood up with a new mission on your mind. You beelined it out of your room and through your small hallway. You flicked on the living room light and glanced over the area in search of the small red book.
It was still sitting on the coffee table from when you gingerly placed it there the night before. You grabbed it off the table and walked back to your room while flicking through the pages. As of now, you weren’t paying too much attention to the words. You were much too distressed and tired to actually read.
As you reopened the door to your bedroom, you noticed a flash of red outside your window. Your room was too dark to see what it was, but out of pure surprise, you stopped time. Before starting it once again, you realized that the red blur could very well have been the winged hero you had been crying over.
You rushed to the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Takami. If you were right that he was watching over you, you would know that Hawks was just as depressed as you were. Although it pained you to know he was sad, it at least proved that he longed for you just like you longed for him.
It proved he cared for you and would continue to look over you regardless.
Your eyes analyzed the sky outside your window. You searched up and down for any sign of your soulmate. Alas, you turned up nothing.
Once again, Hawks was simply too fast for his own good.

foreword: this took so long for me to get out omg but i hope you enjoy!! 💕
look out for: manga spoilers
“sorry for staring, mister. it’s just that i ain’t ever seen ___ before.” + “soup that is too hot.”
“You know, you should really eat something other than cold take out and cup ramen.”
(Y/N)’s roommate Chiba Sumiko sighed, resting a hand on her forehead. She watched (Y/N) sitting at their small kitchen table, currently chowing down on a half-empty box of take out from last night’s dinner. Disappointment washed over her as they let crumbs fall from the corners of their mouth.
“But you know I’m broke—“ (Y/N), with food still lodged in their cheeks, started. As the words left their mouth, they knew what Sumiko—who had a part-time job—would counter.
“Let me treat you. No, I will treat you,” Sumiko decided, sitting down next to (Y/N). The scenario was similar to a father sitting his son down for “The Talk.” Though, in this case, it was Sumiko lecturing (Y/N) that as a college student they should take better care of their health. This included eating a proper meal; eating only take out and cup ramen was definitely not beneficial to her health. As someone studying health and nutrition, they should know better.
And so Sumiko and her boyfriend planned a date, with (Y/N) unfortunately tagging along as a third-wheel. They decided on Onigiri Miya, a tiny restaurant near their campus. It was a quaint little restaurant, and the owner had just recently released their new line of ramen soups. It had been very well-received by the general public, at least the ones who had come in to try it out. Based on those reviews and the fact that they had never eaten there before (Sumiko claimed they had to “expand their horizons,” whatever that meant), the three decided that that was the perfect place to have lunch tomorrow (specifically, at 3).
—
The next day, (Y/N) arrived at the restaurant a little bit later than the couple, not wanting to be the first person to arrive. As they entered the restaurant, the aroma of ramen broth, vegetables, and rice flowed into their nose; the overall atmosphere just felt warm. It was a homely environment, one that (Y/N) would want to visit time and time again. Small talk filled the air, and the one person behind the counter, currently brewing new broth for any incoming customers, casually talked with the patrons that sat around the table. (Y/N) could hear the faint sound of the television sitting in the corner of the restaurant, playing a rerun of a two-year-old volleyball game.
“Ah, welcome in,” the restaurant owner called out to the three, a faint smile on his face. He was, for lack of a better word, extremely hot. (Y/N) could feel a slight blush painting their cheeks, and that most likely wasn’t because of the warm air of the hot food that filled the room.
(Y/N) sat down at the counter along with Sumiko, who had suggested they do so, and her boyfriend. From behind the counter, the man rolled up his sleeves and crossed his arms, handing (Y/N) three plastic menus, which they were to pass along sideways.
Promptly, he said, “Just let me know when you guys are ready to order.” The man pushed a small bell towards them, wordlessly telling them to signal him when they were ready. He turned back to the broth on the stove, also tending to the noodles in a pot beside the broth. He sighed contently— this was the life. He could have never pictured himself playing volleyball beside his brother, who was currently on the television screen, silencing the jeering crowd.
(Y/N)’s eyes scrolled through the menu. What were they to order? There was an array of onigiri to choose from; after all, she was in an onigiri restaurant. However, their eyes drew themselves towards the listing of newly released ramen labels. Why not stick to something they were used to eating?
“(Y/N)-chan, what are you going to have? I’m gonna get the spicy salmon onigiri. The ‘lil picture they have for it on the menu makes it look so good,” Sumiko said. Her words caught the attention of the restaurant owner, stirring the broth absentmindedly, letting out a chuckle. Being the kind partner he was, Sumiko’s boyfriend was content with having her leftovers.
“I think I’ll have the tonkotsu ramen,” (Y/N) stated, still scanning through the menu, making sure there wasn’t something that caught their eye even more than the ramen did. Luckily, there wasn’t, however, so they folded the menu back up and placed it atop the other two menus that Sumiko and her boyfriend had finished using.
Sumiko lightly tapped the bell, and the man behind the counter promptly turned around to collect the menus and finalize what they were going to have.
“I’ll have the spicy salmon onigiri and,” Sumiko pointed to (Y/N), “they’ll have the tonkotsu ramen.” The man nodded.
“Ah, yes. Those are good choices. I know so because I‘m gonna cook ‘em,” the man flatly said, earning a laugh out of the three customers. He set the menus away and began to work on their orders.
—
“Your salmon onigiri,” he said, after some fifteen minutes later. Four onigiri stood proudly on the plate he was holding side-by-side, just waiting to be eaten. The rice was still steaming. He presented the plate to Sumiko and her boyfriend, with an astonished gasp at its delicious appearance. Onigiri Miya was renowned for their aesthetically pleasing food designs.
“Your tonkotsu ramen.” The man then presented the bowl of ramen towards (Y/N), pushing it towards them. The hot steam of it rose up into their face, warming it up. (Y/N) breathed in the aroma of the soup, taking in everything all at once; looking down at it, the soup itself was presented oh-so perfectly, from the cut hard-boiled egg to the seaweed stacked atop each other along the side of the bowl, slowly mixing in with the broth. (Y/N) was practically mesmerized— they hadn’t seen anything like it since... they don’t remember when.
After some time, the man asked with concern, “You good there? You’re starin’ off into the abyss of the bowl.”
“S-Sorry for staring, mister. It’s just that I ain’t ever seen soup that is too hot before,” (Y/N) stuttered. Well, of course they had seen soup that is hot before. They mentally face-palmed themself. To their surprise, however, he laughed. Resting his (notably muscular) arms on the counter some distance away from where (Y/N) had set their phone down to eat, he had his full attention on (Y/N), smiling at them.
“That’s not what I meant. Y’see, I’ve been a little... not eatin’ properly. Simply put,” (Y/N) corrected themself. Taking the chopsticks into their hand, they began eating, looking down in embarrassment.
“Nah, I get it. My brother’s like that. Or, well, he was, in high school,” the man said. “His name’s Atsumu,” he continued, as he pointed to the screen, which currently displayed Atsumu setting for his teammate. The two of them watched the screen until the play ended. Atsumu’s team won the rally, earning them their point. His twin brother in front of (Y/N) pumped his fist, quietly cheering for Atsumu, even though he knew the outcome of the match. It was a two-year-old game, after all.
“I’m Osamu.” Gray eyes glanced over in (Y/N)’s direction, who was taken aback by the sudden introduction.
“Ah, uh, I’m (L/N) (Y/N),” they said, with a half-full mouth of food. Setting down their chopsticks, they wiped their mouth with a napkin. The ramen was so good, so warm, and just so affectionately cooked that (Y/N) gave up all their cares to messily eat the food in front of them.
“I can see you’re enjoyin’ it, (L/N)-han. I’m glad it’s that good.” Osamu watched (Y/N) enjoy the bowl in front of them. Their hunger was akin to his brother’s hunger to improve in volleyball. He felt a pang of familiarity in his chest.
“I love it, Miya-han. What do ya think, Sumiko-chan? How’s it for you?” (Y/N) turned their head towards the girl, taking her time with every bite of her onigiri. Her boyfriend held his own in his hands, ravishing down on it. His cheeks were red due to the warmth of the food. Sumiko turned towards (Y/N), smiling. She gave a thumbs up, a sign of her satisfaction. (Y/N) returned their own small smile.
“Looks like we’re all happy, Miya-han. Thanks for the food.” (Y/N) continued to eat, and Osamu departed from the counter.
—
“That was really good!” Sumiko exclaimed, walking out of the tiny restaurant. “We should go there again someday!” The two others beside her agreed.
(Y/N) shoved their hands into the pockets of their jacket. It was quite cold—colder than usual, at least—for a January afternoon. Though, the pockets of their jacket seemed to be emptier than normal. But (Y/N) paid no attention to that.
“Anyways, (Y/N), don’t you think that store owner was cute? I sure think he was. But you’re cuter, Ichiro, don’t worry.” Sumiko turned towards her boyfriend, giving her a small smile in return. Aw. Their relationship was so cute. (Y/N) wished they had a relationship at least a fraction as affectionate as theirs.
“Yeah, he was pretty cute, I guess,” (Y/N) started, drawing out their words. Though, they didn’t really know how to put it all together; there was just something about him that made them long for his affection (they didn’t know it at the time, but it was definitely his cooking). They hummed, trying to piece together what they were trying to say.
(Y/N)’s roommate looked on in curiosity. “Is there somethin’ wrong? Can ya feel your heartstrings tugging? Is this the sign of true love?” Ever the romantic she was. She’d been rooting for (Y/N) to find their one-and-only since the beginning of their first year of graduate school. Ever the supportive friend she was, as well.
“Agh, I’m just— I just can’t believe how much I stuttered around him... and ate so messily in front of him, too, and—“ (Y/N) sighed. Sumiko clasped a hand on their shoulder.
“It’s alright, (Y/N); you hit it off greatly with him! Didn’t you see it? He definitely did. I mean— the longing look in his eyes while he was talking to you was phenomenal! Ichiro, why don’t you look at me the way—“ Sumiko’s scold was cut short by a familiar voice calling out from behind them. It was Osamu. He held (Y/N)’s phone in his hands, as he made his way towards them. Ah, so that was why their pocket felt slightly emptier than usual.
“(L/N)-san. You, uh... you forgot this,” Osamu said, looking down at the phone. (Y/N) held out their hand, as he gave them back their phone using both of his hands.
“Oh, thank you, Miya-han,” (Y/N) replied with a little more fluster than they had before.
As they put their phone back in their pocket, Osamu whispered something under his breath, just barely audible. (Y/N) asked him to repeat what he had just said.
“I hope you don’t mind,” he started, “but I added my number to your phone.” (Y/N) smiled, their cheeks reddening—totally because of the cold January weather (yep, totally).
“No, I don’t mind at all. Let’s talk more often, and maybe you can cook something else for me as well.”

Imagine~
Discontinued until Further Notice
Imagine taking a road trip with Richard Armitage, Dean O'Gorman and Aidan Turner going to Japan, Greece and Spain
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were a new up and coming [your nationality] actress given the role of Azalea Baggins by Peter Jackson for The Hobbit films. Being a new actress, you were extremely nervous and shy being around new people. However, after shooting The Hobbit; An Unexpected Journey, you became quite close with many of the actors. You became closest to Aidan Turner, who played Kili, Dean O’Gorman, who played Fili, and Richard Armitage, who played Thorin. Aidan, who had become one of your best friends, oddly enough played your love interest in The Hobbit films.
You were running the scene where the Company was in front of the Great Goblin.
"Alright, and action!" Peter shouted. Aidan, as Kili, pushed you behind him as the Goblins rushed you all up to the Goblin King.
"Kili, what are you doing?" Azalea asked. Fili stepped closer to you, keeping you hidden.
"Keep your head down and stay quiet. They can't know that you are a female." Fili whispered. The Great Goblin, played by Barry Humphries, leaned forward, stepping on Goblins as he walked forward. Though Barry was in a motion sensor suite, you knew that when the editing happened and the movie came out, Barry would be replaced by a giant ugly Goblin.
"Who would be so bold as to come armed into my kingdom?" The Great Goblin asked. "Spies? Thieves? Assassins?!" He shouted.
"Dwarfs your Malevolence." A smaller Goblin said.
"Dwarfs?" The Great Goblin roared.
"We found 'em on the front porch." The Goblin said.
"Well don't just stand there, search them! Every crack, every crevice!" The Great Goblin ordered. He saw Azalea amidst the group. "Ooh, a woman I see. Bring her forward." He ordered. You did your best to bring forth the fear and worry that J.R.R. Tolkien had described in his books. You made your eyes go wide and looked to Aidan, who desperately tried to fight through the actors who were playing the Goblins. One of the actors pushed you forward, forcing you onto your knees. You glared up at the Great Goblin.
"Cut!" Peter shouted. Barry chuckled and helped you up.
"Ooh, that was one scary looking glare you gave me, [Y/N]." Barry said, laughing. The rest of the actors laughed along with him. You chuckled and shrugged your shoulders.
"Oh you know, I just have to put on my 'Do not touch my cookies or else I'll kill you' look." You said, causing everyone to laugh again.
A little later, you were in you trailer, after just getting out of costume and getting your Hobbit ears and feet taken off. You loved the design, but honestly you could barley hear a thing out of those ears. You were sitting on your couch eating a bowl of ramen. You glanced up at the posters you had up of your favorite places you wanted to visit. Japan, Greece, Spain, Paris and the Bahamas. It was your dream to visit each and every one of those places. A knock resounded on your trailer door. Quickly setting your fork down in your bowl, you quickly made your way to the door and opened it. There stood Aidan, Dean and Richard. You smiled and leaned against the opening.
"Hello gentlemen, how can I help you this fine afternoon?" You asked. They chuckled at your humor.
"We wanted to speak to you, love. Can we come in?" Richard asked. You smiled and nodded.
"Of course, come in, come in." You said. You moved out of the way for the three men to come into your trailer, Dean closing the door after himself. You lead them to your "living room". The living room was complete with a couch, a tv and a table in front of the couch. You looked at the three. "Can I get you guys anything to eat or drink?" You asked. They shook their heads.
"Nah, we're alright, thanks though." Aidan said. You nodded and took your original spot on the couch where you were eating your ramen. Aidan glanced up at the many posters you had around your trailer. "So, [Y/N]," Aidan said, catching your attention. "Out of all the posters you have up on your wall, which three places would you like to visit?" He asked. You looked up at your posters as you chewed and swallowed the noodles in your mouth.
"Hmm, out of all those posters, I would like to visit Japan, Greece and Spain the most," you looked down with a gentle smile on your face. "Japan has such amazing history behind it, reading the books Rick Riorden wrote is what got me into Greece in the first place and the beauty of Spain just seems so amazing to me." You sighed. "I know that once my career in acting gets bigger, I'll eventually get to visit those places, so I'm not in a big rush to visit them yet," you looked up at the posters with longing. "Still, it would be nice not to have to wait for it." You said. The three smiled at your admiration for the three countries.
"Well," Dean said, his phone out. You looked at him. "How would you feel if you got to visit those countries sooner rather than later?" He asked. He held up his phone and showed it to you. You saw a website and three plane tickets booked for a flight to Japan tomorrow morning at 6:00 am. Your eyes widened and you covered your mouth with your hands, then dropped them in confusion.
"Wait, there's three tickets." You said, looking at the three in confusion.
"We're taking you to those three places, starting with Japan." Richard said. Your eyes widened and you shook your head, looking at the three of them.
"No," you said. They nodded. "No! This has got to be some big elaborate prank." You said. Aidan chuckled.
"It's not, love. We're really taking you to your three favorite places." He said. Tears gathered in your eyes and you hugged all three of them.
"Thank you all so much." You said, pulling away. "When are we leaving?" You asked.
"The flight leaves tomorrow at 6:00 am, which means we will have to leave at 4:00 am to get to the airport." Dean said. You nodded.
"How long are we going to stay in all three places?" You asked.
"A month. A month in each country." Richard said. Your mouth dropped open and your eyes bugged out.
"A month?! We can't stay that long. What about filming?" You asked. You knew Peter was on a tight schedule to get this movie released on time.
"Peter said it wouldn't be a problem." Aidan said. "Plus we want some alone time with our favorite girl." Aidan said, winking at you. Richard gently yet not so gently elbowed Aidan in the side. Aidan had almost exposed part of their plan. What you didn't know, was that all three of these men had fallen in love with you. They each wanted to spend time with you so, ultimately, you could decide which person you loved the most. You smiled at the three.
"Aw, thanks you guys." You said. "But what about packing? I don't have enough clothes to last me a month in different countries." You said. Dean chuckled.
"It's already taken care of. You received a package from your family, did you not?" He asked. You nodded. When you had opened a package from your family three days ago, you were confused when you found a lot of your favorite clothes, including your One Piece Zoro hoodie crop top. Now, it all made sense to you.
"We want to make sure this is alright with you." Richard said. You nodded.
"Of course it's alright with me. Spending a month in three of my favorite countries with three of my favorite people, how could I resist?" You asked smiling. They chuckled and got up.
"Well, we'll let you go so you can pack and continue on with whatever you were doing." Dean said. Aidan pointed at you.
"Remember, be ready to go by 4:00 am tomorrow morning." He said. You smiled and saluted.
"Yes, my Lords!" You shouted. Aidan chuckled as they all left. Once they left and closed your trailer door, you immediately started packing, ready for the next morning.
//I hope you all liked this. There will be multiple parts to this imagine. In the end, there will be different endings to choose from. Aidan’s Ending, Richard’s Ending and Dean’s Ending. Oh, and don’t worry. I’ll make sure you get some steamy moments with each actor😉//
