#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #granny wen #a-yuan #It's always fascinating how colours translate from the page to the screen.#It would probably surprise a lot of people to see what some of these comics actually look like in physical form.#My lighter colours takes about 3-4 washes before it shows up on scan which means it tends to ripple the page.#And my yellows and oranges are drastically different colours when scanned compared to the ink colour.#There's about 20 or so comics where everyone's hair is purple - because it scanned in the exact same colour as my light grey.#Wait my book is right here in front of me so I can...yeah...Comics 57-77 were indeed purple.#This is all to say - is it not fascinating how what we see is often not the full truth of what the subject truly is?#Is it not fascinating to open another episode that reminds us that despite everyone's claims they could totally spot the evil YLLZ-#-The man walks around among them for months as no more than a man haggling for deals like the rest.#It's almost as if he's just a person. It's almost as if none of us - no matter what we do are really anything more than just a person.#Your good acts will be overtaken by how other's interpret you in negative light.#Just as easily are people willing to forgive crueler actions if they hold you in high esteem.#But what's real? Is the page I hold the real version of this comic? Is it the one you look at?#Is the man known as Wuxian the most himself when he is alone or on the battlefield?#Perhaps he is and has always been a scared orphan boy lost in the market.#I think there is no good answer to any of these questions.#But I do know that panic rising in WWX as he frantically looks for A-yuan was for more than one boy.#To be human is to have layers around a delicate center. We only really grow around our wounds from childhood.#In other words; Donkey from Shrek would also probably call Wei Wuxian an onion. I'll see myself out now.

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.

And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.

It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:

“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”

And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

Neither the whistle of the shell, nor the buzzing of the drone, nor even the sound of the launch. I remember smth(blood) pouring into my eye. I raised my left hand to wipe my cheek...

There was no pain at all. I ran to the car. Surprisingly, it was intact. I got in and drove away. The most horrifying injuries I saw at the stabilization point were cranio-cerebral injuries

When a pink mess that used to be responsible for thoughts, feelings, and memories spills from a hole in the head onto a white sheet.

Severed arms and legs, intestines neatly folded into a T-shirt, holes in the chest from which air escapes with a whistling sound—these can all be repaired. The essence of a person will live on, love, dream.

But the empty gaze of those who have lost themselves due to a traumatic brain injury scares me more than anything else...

...With my right hand, I steered the wheel, while with my left hand, I tried to feel my head to see if any foreign "artifacts of war" were sticking out of it. I even took a selfie to assess the extent of the damage to the "decision-making center" (my head).

Only after 10 minutes did I notice that blood was also flowing from my hand. I thought I needed to bandage it... At the next crossroads, I suddenly forgot where to go. It felt like I was here for the first time. Although I had already driven through the village twenty times.

A jeep drove by. I thought I should probably ask for help. But if they transferred me and took me to the stabilization point, I would have to leave my "Discovery" here, and then those bastards(russian soldiers) would definitely wreck it.

I didn't leave it either at the crossing in Bakhmut or in Avdiyivka, and I absolutely refuse to leave it here. I’m just obligated to get to the stabilization point by myself.

What scared me was that my wounds didn’t hurt. Just a dull noise in my head, like a severe migraine.

Closer to Konstantynivka, I started to recognize the road. When I arrived at the stabilization point, I even parked the car by a tree and locked it...

Once the war kicked off enough that tobirama realized his death was a real possibility he gathered his most trusted and valued shinobi in a room for an emergency war meeting, locked the doors, and said 'whos gonna be hokage next NOSE GOES' and hiruzen was condemned to the hat cause he didn't tap his nose fast enough. Fortunately danzo was injured at the time so he didn't participate. He was pissed though.

GHILAN'NAIN: Grey Wardens! I wield the power of the blight.(Archdemon roars) Today, you face the finest child of the gods!

(Tiny infodump on this bitch even though this post is about Davrin) The whole "finest child of the gods" thing is because Ghilan’nain was elevated to godhood by the elven pantheon (specifically by Andruil, the goddess of the hunt). Before her ascension, Ghilan’nain was known for creating creatures that had never been seen before, which pleased Andruil for a while... until some of the creatures started becoming monsters and killing people.

NEVE: Ghilan'nain! And she brought a dragon!

DAVRIN (grimly): Worse! That's an Archdemon!

Historically, Wardens have ended blights by facing down Archdemons as the only ones capable to taking them down. For Grey Wardens, sensing an Archdemon is not just a call to battle; it’s a call to potentially end their life. The ritual that makes a person into a Grey Warden requires them to consume Darkspawn blood, which changes them - giving the ability to sense darkspawn... at the cost of linking their fate directly to the fate of the Archdemon. It's a strange connection that means killing the Archdemon requires the life of the Grey Warden who strikes the final blow. The ultimate sacrifice, seen as a necessary cost to save the world from a Blight.

ROOK: We have to get inside!

MILA: The war room isn't far!

Just real quick a second can we cheer for how frickin' adorable and badass Mila is? And appreciate how understandably stressed Rook is about a child guiding them through an active battlefield? While Mila is confident and calm. I love it.

ROOK (stressed): Stick close, Mila!

DAVRIN: (staggers, pained grunt)

NEVE: Davrin? What's wrong?

DAVRIN: Wardens... we can sense an Archdemon... I can hear the Calling... Splitting headache... but I'll make it.

Grey Wardens are constantly aware that their life might end with the Calling. Davrin has lived his life with the concept of an early end to it so long that he's begun to draw comfort from the idea. Here, at what he very well may believe is his end, he's showing stoic resolve. No wavering, no fear, no hesitation. For as long as he can remember, his purpose has been to defend the world from the blight and with that purpose has come the knowledge that he will die doing it. He's running towards his purpose now with no fear of his own end, embracing it, even. Little does he know that a whole new battle awaits him on the other side, a wrestling match with his own mind when he survives, as he never expected to.

NEVE: ...

NEVE: Well, this went sideways! (on to the next problem) How's Lucanis going to kill a cloud with a dagger?

ROOK (still very stressed about the literal child leading them across the battlefield): One thing at a time! For now, let's not die out here!
