most ppl immediately go to sooth me with the "but you Are smart, and you just need to try harder!! your life isnt entirely ruined today :) just go to school tomorrow and be Good and Learn and you'll be fineee. you aren't one of the bad ones, Dont Worry :))" and that makes me. invent new types of panic attacks and neuroses on the spot.

but having an Actual Adult whos like "no. school can infact be the fucking Torture pit for some people and it is So Utterly Fucked Up how Anyone can make you do Anything, actually. you arent a bad or damaged person this is Normal and your value isnt dependant on Schooliness. do whatever makes you least likely to kill yourself. you dont owe them shit, especially not being Good. be a problem, take up space."

i remember being in high school in 2011 when the gay teen suicides were national headlines, and everyone had Opinions on it, and the "it gets better" trend was everywhere, and -- while those videos did do a lot of good!! -- they just kind of made me more furious?? because i was so mad at all these adults basically saying, "yeah, high school is an institutional pit of death and horror, but eventually you'll be 18!!" i was like hey. Help Us Now.

it was actually the song "make it stop" by rise against that gave me any peace or sense of belonging, because. here was a band i loved full of straight dudes (as far as i know, anyway) who were just fucking MAD. they were righteously angry!! they gave a fuck what was happening!! and lyrics like "the gatherings hold candles but not their tongues" rang SO true to me, as someone who was dealing with endless "oh, so sad he died, but there was something wrong with his brain" discourse.

the memory of that has made it REALLY easy to hold onto my anger in adulthood. because sometimes kids don't need "it'll be fine, just hang on :)" they need "you're gonna be okay, but FUCK ALL THIS."

it's truly fucking Unconscionable to do what we do even to neurotypical, able-bodied teens with good home lives. i want to say i can't imagine being a teen with chronic fatigue and ADHD going to classes eight hours a day.... but i can!! i did that!! and almost died!!

i honestly think the lack of autonomy in the US school system is traumatic For Everybody. different levels of trauma, for sure! but i think that's part of why adults seem so disconnected from our teen years and can't remember the realities of being an adolescent. we overwrite the horrors.

the good news is: it Does get better after school. astonishingly so.

in the meantime: you don't owe anyone Anything. literally your only job right now is to survive. do whatever you need to do to not kill yourself or end up in jail. don't worry about anything else. i promise it Does Not Matter As Much As People Say It Does.

uhhh here's my thoughts as one of the native co-writers of the letter sent to rtvs. i said before i won't be making rtvs posts anymore, but i guess i wanna compile all my thoughts onto one as they have been scattered around as the whole thing went down so.

not sure how best to structure this btw, i'm still not good at words and this is a mess atm. but uhh im trying.

one thing i hope will be acknowledged in the apology that wayne correcting the misinformation he said in november was very much possible on his own. i can't be mad that he didn't know about pt's shit right away, but when i google anything about the dev's offensive comments/work in the game, before and now, this is all i can find.

like not looking into it for one second before making your statement was really irresponsible. it's the main reason i decided to actually say something, at least with my one post about his message. apparently it's an issue with people calling whatever the dev said an 'apology'. and i said in the letter too, one of my goals was for that misunderstanding to be cleared up.

and yep, the response to the letter was definitely disappointing. i hope behaviour like that will not be repeated again too. wayne being so determined to leave his november message as his final word, even when that's what i had an issue with in the first place, and the quick mention that he mispoke on the apology part, it was very dismissive to me.

it sucks that it took two months just to finally admit it was incorrect on top of that.

but specifically for mike. what the fuck? how can you say something like that to someone's face?

"if you really had your tribes best interests-" and "we're just people on the computer like you" are wild things to say.

do better. grow up. broaden your perspective. even if you can't be perfect all the time, none of us are saying you ever were, still, do whatever it takes to not do anything like that again.

you can't pull the "we're just silly idiots here guys" card everytime.

ughhh. not gonna lie, thinking about how kinda weird it is taking a part of this at all since the first thing i did after seeing the collab announcement was just leave quietly. like i only called the collab a big L (💀), unfollowed everyone, and avoided rtvs entirely for a whole month. but i agree with what people have said; yes, there was barely any attention brought to the whole thing anyways. only a handful of people pointed out the issue at the time, but everything else went on as normal and that was it. it was a bummer.

so as a final note, i hope this makes something good to learn from. personally, i can't help but be sure that rtvs wasn't going to acknowledge the issue with the collab if we didn't make the letter. maybe it would've been a later apology after some hindsight or something, i don't know. at least there was a push and acknowledgment they gotta do better.

we're still waiting on their apology right now. i'm willing to wait for a while just to be fair. i'm just not following them though so i don't know how active they've been, sounds like just as usual it seems. well, i just hope a good amount of thought and effort goes into the apology whenever it comes out.

3. i hope u realize i was half joking when i said it wasn't bias for safield.. like yeah i obviously have some bias but also its nkt completely unrealistic to hope that the next game focuses on the two main character's' relationship 😭😭😭😭 idk man i feel like ur going a little loopy..

3. i think she'd be so out of place and id rather have de2 focus on max and safi's relationship and this highkey sounds lkke bias because of my fixation but i PROMISE YOU its not.. mostly...

4. i think that max should grow by herself i really dont think she needs to be attached to chloe by the fucking hip.. like i would be so fucking ecstatic if you got to be with amanda/vinh/safi at the end of de2 but i think the most realistic ending would be for her to be by herself, not FOREVER, but for a good amount of time for her to be secure with being by herself because i personally think max is extremely codependent with chloe.. if .. that makes sense

A name everyone should be aware of, the prankster of heartslabyul, the number one rule breaker or the cause of Riddle's hair to go white or face to go red.

Ace Trapolla

a name in the infamous first year troublemakers that roamed popularity on NRC, for solving the overblots together with the prefect of ramshackle. a guy involved in tons of school trouble including the overblot of Riddle Rosehearts.

"Ace Trapolla" you call on him.

A name of a guy beloved by the magicless prefect, to call, to run to, to order around. the one who punched the housewarden of heartslabyul just because he had made a comment about the prefect's family status. just because of that snide comment about his friend he had made the choice to risk himself.

what would his excuse be on why would he do that to the esteemed housewarden of roses?

he was snobby? he was rude? he should talk about himself instead?

Only he get to tease or make a sarcastic comment the prefect?

Who knows? but what everyone would know when they first take a look at the two together, Ace and Prefect. they'd think that the mischievous playful Ace that the hearstlabyul know, would change to a lovesick puppy following it's master instead

Deuce Spade isn't any better but he is not as much as Ace, Two of these hearstlabyul students would surround the prefect close as they can, the other 3 Savannaclaw, Pormefiore and that one loud Diasomnia student would do the same but not as close as the other two as they were literally by their side

this little group of first years would be the reason why halls and classrooms would whisper in their presence, can you imagine it? one of the most dangerous things that could happen in twisted wonderland yet it's to be solved by a normal magicless student.

and for Ace, that's amusing

when you two first met all could he think was you're pretty too plain, just another face in the crowd he could ignore, well except for the fact you lack the basic requirement to go to this school and the only student who had a noisy raccoon familiar.

if he hadn't said anything when he passed you two by about to clean the statue of seven, he wouldn't get involved with you at all

but there you two are, in a mine plotting a plan to get the a magestone so none of you three get explled

to be honest, for a half day he had a full on adventure with you and that Deuce involved, he can't say it's pleasant but not also interesting. you're interesting.

your plan worked on getting the magestone and even made yourself and Grim an official student of NRC.

you are clearly smart on your own way, having yourself meddle with things you shouldn't had but did get it unintentionally. so he did you a favor on giving him help to stay over for tonight due to some... collaring circumstances.

he can't say it's on purpose but whatever!! you just got to help him tonight and it'll be over, he promised.

everything went and so on, you three including Grim were on the unbirthday party to give the Chestnut tart and finally get the stupid collar off him but he didn't expect for the rest of you to get collared either and spending another night in your ramshackled of a dorm

He would thought you'd finally got enough of him and his shenanigans and finally made the right decision to kick him out but no, you two were on the same page now. you hated Riddle being tyrannical and this stupid collar encasing your neck. that's the only reason why you joined Ace and Deuce's force against Riddle and let them stay in for the night.

that's his reason why he did it.

he punched Riddle because of that reason. you were something else, something special.

no one was allowed to make a comment about your family status without taking a look at themselves first housewarden or not. Riddle might be the tyrant queen of the Heartslabyul but isn't to Ace

Riddle was nothing likr a Queen but a child throwing a tantrum Infront of Ace just because he had not followed a absurd rule that shouldn't make any sense.

Ace isn't going to accept somebody to disrespect the person who had helped him, who had let him stay in, and prevented his expelling.

"you'd get me in? Crowley said j can as long as I'm invited" you could get Deuce to do it but this Ace Trappola is your Ace Trappola

plus Ace requires little persuasion.

"What!? No way I'd do that Riddle wou-" you interrupt him as you hook your arm at his, clinging like a koala to a ginger tree branch

"please Ace~? I'd be really sad you know? Grim hasn't eaten sweets for days too." you smirk at him, this happened to work apparently, it started as a joke to get him carry your books but when you doed your eye at him he immediately took it from your hands as he walked together at your side.

"Oh no we're losing him." Deuce said to himself noticing how Ace had turned red from your clinging

"Sh-shut up Deuce! f-fine...! as long as you don't say anything to Riddle about this... he'd get mad if he knew you weren't supposed to be in the unbirthday party" Ace stuttered trying to clear his throat and calm his nerves down

he isn't breaking away from your clinging, should you push it?

"Thanks, Ace! i know i could count on you." he could swore he heard angels sing at him when you said that before you hook your other arm with Deuce and cling in the middle between them two as you three walk together at the halls

when did he became a puppy to you? anyone would think you were just a normal person with no inch of magic in you, you weren't even special to begin with so how'd the Ace of hearts became your soldier?

im sorry but i cannot stop thinking about isha's pastel memories that play during her sacrifice scene.

look at how full of colour this beautiful fuckin shot is:

it's been well established in episodes 4-6 how grim and dark the undercity has become under cait and ambessa's new rule. but look at how isha sees/remembers it - because of jinx.

jinx, who went through a severe childhood trauma that has carried over into her present self - she covers extremely destructive weapons and grenades in bright pinks and blues, neons, childlike doodles, graffiti. (joy and destruction, powder and jinx, a contrast so striking it becomes like a signature for her).

and then we see the world through isha's eyes. when we meet her in episode 2, she's running through sewers, from goons dressed in black; it's grimy and grim. and then all of her recent memories are done in these childlike pastel, almost crayon-y sketches. because what isha saw was jinx covering a dark and grim world in colours.

and so isha covered her world in colour, too.

because jinx made her world bright.

isha looked at jinx and saw the child in her. she saw powder and she saw jinx. she saw joy and destruction. and that's why jinx gave isha so much hope. isha knew the world was grim and dark - but then she watched jinx, and she learned that you can paint over all that grim darkness with neon blue spray paint.

that's why isha believed in hope. that's why in her final moments - in a scene that is lit dimly and dramatically - she sees nothing but a bright world coloured in pastels.

never underestimate the hope of a child.

it's weird that you don't call out to jun when he comes into your apartment. jun knows that you know he was coming over at some point to spend time with you, and usually you greet him in some way when you hear the apartment door unlock. he's a little earlier than he planned, but you told him to 'come over whenever' and now he's a little worried that you didn't mean it. he quietly slips into the pair of slippers that stays here at your place, and makes his way further into your apartment to set down the bag of groceries he brought on your kitchen counter. your bedroom door is open, but the tiny room you use as a home office is open just a sliver.

he makes his way over, leaning in to listen for a moment... only to hear your voice. there's a little strain to it as you struggle through a sentence, and it clicks all at once: you're speaking chinese. albeit not very well (it's clear to jun that this is one-hundred percent new to you), but you're still trying. your pronunciation is a bit clumsy, but he can hear the way you try to use the right tone with what you're saying...

when did you start learning this much? jun had taught you little things in the past--the absolute basics, really, plus a few other little phrases that veer into his own cheesy need to hear you say sweet things--but this...? he steps back from the door. why hadn't you told him? you could have told him and he'd happily help you learn. but he trusts you: you must have your reasons to keep this a secret, so he won't push. he steps away, deciding to busy himself with getting ingredients put away--or set up for the two of you to cook together, in case you're hungry now.

then he knocks a cup into the sink, and immediately he hears you coming out of your office. relief crosses your face when you see it's just jun, and you lean against the open doorway.

"i didn't know you were here." you pause, and then he sees you get hit with realization. "... how long were you here?"

"i just got here," he says. it's technically the truth, isn't it? he's only been here for a few minutes. "were you working?"

you nod. "yeah. just had to answer a phone call," you lie to him, but he just nods and acts like he doesn't know that. you come up to his side, wrapping an arm around him. "is this for lunch?"

he leans over to you and presses a kiss against your cheek. "are you hungry?"

"mhm," you just snuggle in for a moment, enjoying his presence. "you should teach me more recipes you learned from your mom sometime."

jun finds himself smiling already. was that what this all was...? an attempt for you to understand him better? to show that you care for him so much that you want to know his culture, too? "i'd love to," he says softly, and wraps an arm around you to tug you closer to his side. "only if you teach me things you learned from your family, too."

then he'll make more efforts to understand you and your background, too. just to show you that he loves you as much as you love him.
