If MHA was a good manga with a competent author, Izuku would use prosthetics and still fulfill his dream. But considering how the first volume went- everyone telling him he couldn't do something because of a "disability" (I use that word so lightly because in every other fictional setting it's not a disability. Even though heroes usually have powers, heroes like Batman and Iron-Man have always been part of the norm, expected to pop up even. Horikoshi decided to make that a minority, and then never address it) without even letting him try- I sincerely doubt it.

I fear Hori won't even give him prosthetics (don't ask me why, it's just a feeling I have that he would put the fact that Izuku has no arms on display to make it "sentimental." Giving him proper assistive devices would be too humane for him to do to Izuku), have him quit heroics, and then make him watch from the sidelines as Bakugou becomes the #1.

(Of course, he'll try to frame it as Bakugou honoring Izuku by fulfilling his dream for him. Yet again giving Bakugou the spotlight while Izuku's pain and trauma is ignored)

And without his quirk, that's just more incentive for Horikoshi to push the story that way. Basically undoing everything he set up in the beginning of his story. The victim gets stripped of the power he earned, becomes physically disabled with no form of support, and witnesses his abuser get everything he wants.

Somehow, that's more twisted than anything Gege could have come up with.

fly poop can look really similiar to blood splatter so it can potentially mess with a crime scene. flies will feed upon a corpses tissues and then deposit their own spit and poop which ends up looking like the stains that were already left by the victim which can confuse a bloodstain analyst because they look the exact same and chemically test the same. imagine a forensic doing a blood sample and it's just poop from a fly butt

very curious if you have like, an in-universe reasoning for the humanoid angels looking so horrific under their helmets- why this form? it’s a super cool idea btw, fits really well with the game’s ‘canon’ and themes

I like to think those humanoid bodies were crafted! possibly to walk around non angelic beings and for combat purposes. Gabriel, I get it he's an archangel, seems to be extremely hard to kill. He heals in some hours and there's an artificial vibe going on with his body.

Heaven isn't perfect at all, there are so many things off over there... They hide the imperfections behind opulent perfection.

I like to think they hide the angel attached to a construct in a helmet, sealed, hidden, stuck in the empty skull of something that is by far more complex than a lifeless husk; molded to serve a divine purpose and driven by such purpose. The light fuels it. Embellished but so profane. It's a twisted concept to attach an angel to such mockery of life. The body is not human, the body is not a machine either, it's organic but fabricated to be a tool.

It's something they like to hide, because angels aren't so different from machines. (Quotes that post that I can't find rn)

I like to think there isn't much difference between heaven, hell and the remains of humanity. Just everything imperfect and shitty, but heaven tries to hide it to maybe justify their superiority/purity.

oh i dont mind at all! it was my grandmas body when she passed last december, she’d died just a couple hours before and i was helping my mom get some stuff out of her room while we waited for the cremation people to come get her and i was only in the room for a second. i couldve taken some more time and sat and said goodbye but even though it hadnt been that long there was something really pale and alien about her and her mouth was open in a way id never seen and there was just this stillness that filled me with such a deep sense of dread i wasnt expecting and i couldnt go back in there. id spent a lot of the last year in hospitals with her and i thought it might be a similar feeling but it was so completely different. i guess it just set off the alarm bells that that was no longer my grandma. ive always been a very. caitlin doughty voice death positive person and so the fact i had a reaction that visceral and i avoided that room after even though that meant my mom had to keep going in there is something i think about a lot. idk how to explain it any better!

Watching Stalker (1979) today is such a surreal experience. The absolutely breathtaking cinematography and thought provoking philosophy are viciously contrasted with some of the worst OSHA violations you'll ever see on film.

Anytime they're wading through contaminated, toxic and stagnant water you're just instantly reminded about the fact that the vast majority of the crew suffered completely preventable deaths less than 10 years later, and you're watching them essentially doom themselves to horrible cancerous fates live on tape.

The dude playing the insecure snarky writer literally died of lung cancer 3 years after they wrapped filming, likely because they were just walking around in toxic sludge for half the film, and the other half inhaling undiluted chemical plant smog straight into their lungs.

Like this shit doesn't look kosher at all and he's fucking just lying in it, completely drenched. Not to mention the VERY visibly crumbling asbestos construction in the background and all throughout the entire film probably didn't do them any favors either.

Or this scene literally just before the scene above. Where all 3 protagonists take turns to walk through this room flooded with foamy contaminated water with chemicals clearly floating on top. AFTER just spending 10 minutes walking through a sewer tunnel with even more water dripping down on them from above and stalactites growing from the inlets.

The filming of this movie was fucking lethal.

I used to be in the "let Dabi live" camp but my staying there required very specific circumstances which have long passed 🤣🤣 I only lead with this because the recent chapter spoilers have got me sooo displeased. It IS cruel. The entire family needs to let him go. I get him apologizing to Shoto (if that ends up being true? I wouldn't trust it until an official translation drops but I am also mostly avoiding spoilers atm haha) because he had always wanted to apologize to his family, but let him go. Please 😭

so from what i can tell from the fan translation + scans, it LOOKS to me like he apologized to an empty room. the ‘sorry’ bubble is being said when the family is outside the facility, it appears????? unless i’m being entirely fucking delusional LMAO

i like this a lot better than touya apologizing to shouto’s face because 1. it feels much more in character, and 2. i’d argue it makes that soba moment a helluva lot more impactful. it almost feels like the final nail in the coffin of realization for touya, like he’s going ‘damn, he is actually JUST LIKE ME, we could’ve been enjoying soba together and i didn’t realize he wasn’t dad’s puppet; i didn’t realize he was also a victim’. when touya first comes face to face with shouto (as dabi), he hasn’t seen him in several years, he has NO idea what the fuck was going on in that house or how shouto truly is as a person or how shouto feels towards their father and all of the abuse he endured at the hands of their father, and touya has created and clung to this narrative in his head of shouto being enji’s lil masterpiece, enji’s pride and joy. shouto subsequently shows him throughout their various fights that this is truly not the case. i think you could argue that now that touya’s on the brink of death with nothing to do but THINK in that godforsaken machine they’ve locked him in, he is finally truly reflecting on everything that happened and coming to some realizations before he dies. at least, that’s how i see it!!

other than that, i’m so so so upset with how everything is being handled. i’m SO glad touya calls them out and says he feels like a tourist attraction because YEAH. yeah. that’s what they’re doing to you, baby. they’re keeping you alive and prolonging your inevitable death so THEY can talk to you, for THEM, not for you. ugh honestly i could write you a whole essay on how disgusting and disrespectful this whole thing is, i’ve been rambling all damn day to my friends about it HAHAHA ._. it’s just so goddamn selfish!!!!!! the fact that enji just speaking had touya’s heart raising to DANGEROUS levels already says so much. like you’re really just going to prolong his fucking suffering so YOU can all absolve yourselves of your guilt??? you can’t give him the one thing he has wanted and planned for for several years (death)??? fuck right off
