I probably made a mistake taking a freshman level comp sci class in senior year but at least I have Rain World

The project was just to recreate a scene in Scratch, so I chose Rain World. We didn’t have to but I drew all the sprites for this (with the Splatoon brushes lol) so ig this counts as Rain World fanart??

(The music in the background wasn’t supposed to be there it was just in the recording bc I had it playing in another tab. The video wouldn’t have audio without and it somewhat fits though so I just kept it in)

the pilot was peak charlastor honestly

it had their best dynamic best interactions and most importantly it really felt like they found each other's person

also alastor and charlie were hotter here but that's just my opinion

they WERE and im tired of pretending they WEREN’T i LOVE their pilot dynamic UUUGH -

that’s not to say their current canon is bad but god there was just something so fun and flowy to their pilot setup. charlie was goofy and silly and determined and her demonic form actually packed a punch - it contrasted so perfectly with her normal countenance and really made it clear she can be a force to be reckoned with!

meanwhile alastor is creepy but mostly he’s also a giant troll and his connection with charlie was IMMEDIATE that first moment at the door sold me. their dance!!! i think about that dance every day if I don’t mention that dance to someone at least once every thirty minutes i go insane

she’s genuinely so happy look at her smile look at them im not well

#i think those ai chaeracter rps are goofy as hell #i've played around with them a few times to see what it was all about. they play up the personalization too much it's not THAT customizable #i tried feeding it some sans lines back when i was doing the rp to see if the machine was capable of identifying his speaking style #since i'd essentially done the same thing just manually. i wanted to see how good it could get it #huge disappointment as predicted #i WILL give character.ai one thing though. hilariously not for its characters. there's this one tool called brainstorming that's super hand #you throw ideas/concepts at it & it throws back clarifying questions based on what you sent in. like playing tennis against a wall #essentially a dynamic version of those writing tip lists like what's the significance of this event for x. what conflict arises etc #optimally this is stuff you do with a friend. and truly nothing beats brainstorming with another writer. honest.#but if you're fully throwing spaghetti at the wall in the roughest stages of an idea it's a quick way to cycle through some basic what-ifs #pretty fun toy all things considered. but it stops being useful the moment things start shaping up forreal #answered asks

I know October is typically a month where people try their hand at somewhat elaborate creative challenges and really test themselves and their ability to stay consistent for a month but this time, I wanted to do something a little different.

The thing I'm challenging myself to do this October is to take one step. My mental health has been aggressively declining and while I'm still pulling myself together to reach out to friends for support, the one thing that does consistently give me joy and does make me feel settled is my story and I finally want to take some steps to talk about it in a meaningful way.

The concept really is simple, every day for October, I'll do my best to introduce a new character and their place in Pursuing Daybreak. A lot of the concepts and characters are, thankfully, already grouped together in sevens for this work so it did end up being a pretty neat prompt list altogether:

Apollo, who is the beating heart of this concept and story

The seven main characters (Hyacinthus to Eros)

Zephyrus who, like Apollo, is vital but haunts the story rather than participates

The seven people who are in possession of larkspurs (Penthesilea to Aphrodite)

Seven gods besides Apollo who are important to the story (Artemis to Erebus)

and finally, seven lovers and mothers to match the main cast (Leto to Eurydice) Mostly, I'm just hoping to generate some happiness for myself this month, even if it comes exclusively in the form of taking a few minutes every day to post a little goofy drawing of one of these characters I've come to cherish so much.
