One of the most bizarre feelings imo is finding out about a prejudice you didn't know existed
Like. I only recently found out that there's areas IN MY OWN COUNTRY where discrimination against Italian people is a genuine problem
Like
I definitely know WHY I always assumed Racism was a prejudice more dependant on differences in skin colour but holy shit damn yeah okay so there's also ultraviolet racism too huh, we're all just drinking the shitty bitch water then

I'm [insert queer identity] can I call myself a fag/dyke?
yes.
But I'm nervous because [identity related nuance or specifics].
Still yes.
Can I call myself a tranny?
Look, you can call yourself whatever you want if you feel it fits you. I don't actually care that much nor do I have the authority to grant you a faggot pass or whatever. You can do whatever you want forever and you need no one's permission. I love you be free

One month until the election...holy shit.
Okay, I'm just going to point out that Project 2025 proposes a sweeping ban of "pornography." So if you write or read smutty fanfiction, or want to protect access to sites like AO3 in general, vote for Harris.

Could the Ace Attorney fandom stop pretending that Phoenix Wright or Miles Edgeworth or any of the main cast is white? Idgaf if the localized version is set in America. Asian Americans exist. You are consuming a piece of Asian-made media, not everything is about white people

I am not going to say TLT is about fossil fuels because it's about a lot of things and it's reductive to boil it down to anything, but a society fueled by necromancy/death magic/corpses is reminiscent of our society fueled by and built with petrochemicals (oil, natural gas, plastic), and given that within the necromancy framework the role of the cavalier is to be metaphorically, literally, and/or spiritually consumed, it's interesting that the first cavalier was the planet Earth. This new world is still based on devouring the planet.
Does this make Paul a metaphor for nuclear fusion I'm joking but I suppose the question Alecto must resolve is whether we can escape needing to consume to survive.* And maybe we can't - stop trying to make your carnivorous pets vegan - but can we find a method of consumption that's less destructive?
(Some people may see Paul as that answer but I am a Hater who isn't into ego death.)

Argh I was looking at my eyes in the mirror and started thinking about how Jewish they look. And then I just started crying because like. I’ve seen my eyes in so many Jews, in so many eras. The same eye shape, the same heavier lids and under eyes and dark brown irises and slight slope and intensity and just. So many times and places and histories of our people, and I can see my eyes. And they are so, so beautiful

Need y'all to be respectful of familial bonds that aren't blood-related. There is no secret "real dad" of Vi and Jinx; regardless of who contributed to their births, Vander and Silco helped raised those children before and after their previous parents died. And hopefully if something does get revealed about biological heritage it will be done in a respectful way and not in the ways a lot of y'all are: making fun of or pushing the false narrative that blood is what matters above all when it comes to family.

sort of in the vein of that last post, the queer slurs have a degree of interchangeability in my opinion. nobody's asking your specific identity before they call you a dyke or a tranny or whatever. I know a guy who's straight as an arrow who used to get called a fag on the regular. you know why? he likes arranging flowers and interior decorating. that's it.
we're really not supposed to be split up into little factions the way the community's been going. we all face this shit together. we help each other when everyone else turns their backs on us. fags saying dyke and dykes saying fag is, in that sense, an act of solidarity

Notre-Dame bells ring out for first time since cathedral fire
9 November 2024
With less than a month to go before the reopening of Notre-Dame cathedral, its bells tolled again five years after a fire seriously damaged the Paris landmark.
The Cathedral reopens with Mass on 8 December 2024.
NOTE:
On 15 April 2019, just before 18:20 CEST, a structural fire broke out in the roof space of Notre-Dame de Paris, a medieval Catholic cathedral in Paris, France.
By the time the Notre-Dame fire was extinguished, the cathedral's wooden spire (flèche) had collapsed
Most of the wooden roof had been destroyed, and the cathedral's upper walls were severely damaged.
Extensive damage to the interior was prevented by the vaulted stone ceiling, which largely contained the burning roof as it collapsed.
Many works of art and religious relics were moved to safety, but others suffered smoke damage.
Some of the exterior art was damaged or destroyed. The cathedral's altar, two pipe organs, and three 13th-century rose windows suffered little or no damage.
