Latest gachiakuta chapter hurting real good rn.

I am sorry for not writing analysis on the other chapters that have come out in the last month but I have been feeling like absolute shit and simply didn't come here on Tumblr very often.

I did read the chapters. This mess between Rudo and Follo has been building up for a while now. Tamzy said a chapter or two ago that it was a waste how Rudo was refining his powers... Probably because Rudo is refining them for a good cause and he would like Rudo to simply go ballistic. Well... It seems like his desire will come true.

I mean...

This last panel doesn't forebode anything nice.

Rudo is angry. Follo is angry.

I really hope someone defuses the situation. On the other hand, I doubt it will happen. What I DO see happening is:

-Gris tries to stop them

-Tamzy suggests that they should let the boys fight

-Tamzy ends up revealing himself and having to try and kill Gris because Gris is determined to try and stop him no matter what, even though as a Supporter he may not be a match for Tamzy

-Gris is killed, OR Rudo and Follo make up on the spot because Gris is about to get killed

Maybe I am overreacting with the theory, but I have also started school again and my mind is all over the place so, yeah. Doesn't get much better than this for now. I don't even think I formulated my thoughts well.

I have to say, though... This argument...

I have read on Reddit that Follo seems to be projecting, but to me, it goes deeper than that. Both of these boys have gone through so much, but...

-Follo in particular wants to feel as if his pain is important, he does not want for it to be as insignificant as his role as a Supporter (for the way it is perceived by civilians I mean; Supporters aren't actually useless after all). He does not want his pain to be "second rate"

-Rudo wanted to keep Follo safe and he does not see what he is doing as looking down on Follo

-Follo thinks Rudo should gain more social awareness

-Rudo thinks people should be more open about their intentions and speak clearly

To everyone headcanoning Rudo as neurodivergent or an allegory for a neurodivergent individual, I salute you. I am joining your ranks because I believe you are spot on. This is EXACTLY where most of this argument stands: where should the effort be put in conversation and social interaction? How should words be weighed? Should it always fall on the people who are socially aware to "lower their standards", and is it at all what matters and how the issue of misunderstandings must be addressed?

I believe I stand mostly with Rudo on this issue. People need to learn to become more open and direct. "If something annoys you, you should tell me. I need people to be honest with me because I hurt and think about what if they are lying just like the other times". But I also empathize with Follo. "I feel like I shouldn't be too straightforward, because people do not think someone of my stature needs to do so; people don't think I matter enough for these feelings to be worthy of time".

I just. I care for them. So much.

And I hope Tamzy keeps away and lies underneath his cover for a while longer.

--A TRASH BEAST ANALYSIS--

Okk sooo remember when I did a post Chapter 94 and went on a little rant about how trash beast could operate? Well, In this post I'll take that idea and expand on it more. I'll also be adding more ideas...! (This post is mostly speculation and pondering but I hope you still enjoy my mess of ideas!!)

ALRIGHT, SO THERE ARE THREE MAIN IDEAS I WANT TO EXPAND ON HERE:

— Contaminated/Polluted areas and how that could affect the trash beast's forms and characteristics.

— The different types of negativity that supplement the creatures and how that can possibly modify their traits.

— The plausible reasons as to why trash monsters are so aggressive and violent towards humans.

LET'S GOOOOO!!

°~HOW CONTAMINATED AREAS AFFECT TRASH BEASTS~°

We all remember the first few chapters right? Rudo landed in the intensely polluted area, so unbreathable you had to put on a full-face gas mask just to not choke.

When we first see thrash beasts, THEY'RE FUCKING GINORMOUS. BIG, SCARY AND VIOLENT. The walking definition of a monster. They attacked on sight and don't give up on their targets easily.

At this point in the story, we simply assume that all trash beasts act this way. We haven't learned of the different levels of contamination so we just go along with it.

UNTIL... WE GET TO THE MOST RECENT CHAPTER.

All of a sudden, trash beasts are smaller, slimmer, faster and... Animals!?! The beasts are suddenly mimicking real-life species. In this case, their cheetahs (I think...)and act exactly like them.

But what makes this interesting is that we're not in the intensely polluted zone anymore! We're in the semi- contaminated zone, an area where you only need to put a normal face mask.

This insinuates the fact that a trash beast's physical power is altered depending on the level of contamination in it's area.

-So the power level should look something like this-

INTENSELY CONTAMINATED: These are the most powerful creatures we've seen so far. They're humongous creatures that hunt alone or in small packs possessing monster-like physique and power.

SEMI-CONTAMINATED: Animal-like creatures that hunt in extremely large packs possessing characteristics of real-life animals. (But It could be possible that there are monster-like trash beasts in the semi-area that are simply smaller)

NON-CONTAMINATED: Given the lack of pollution, this is the only area that has actual animals like cats, rats, horses, etc. Though it might be possible that there are miniature trash beasts(Though I doubt that fact...)

✨MINI TANGENT✨ I did research on this and apparently, cheetahs will only hunt in groups if they're in a coalition to attack larger or more dangerous prey. This suggests that trash beasts (or at least the semi-contaminated ones) View humans as dangerous. Because if they viewed them as simple prey, the cheetahs wouldn't bother creating a coalition since they only bother with that if the prey is big and dangerous. (Normally cheetahs are solitary hunters) So why do they view humans as dangerous? ✨ END OF TANGEANT✨

°~DIFFERENT TYPES OF NEGATIVITY (ANIMA) AND HOW THAT AFFECTS THE MONSTERS~°

In the early chapters of Gachiakuta, Enjin explains to Rudo how trash beasts are made:

" Here on the ground, trash accumulates quickly...And so do feelings and emotions...Anima. Sometimes, that gets converted into energy which causes a variety of unusual phenomena. One of these is the birth of trash beasts. They always attack humans on sight. Generally, they live in the garbage dump outside of town... but every so often they'll invade the cities."- Enjin

I'm not gonna put the whole thing since some of it doesn't connect to what I'm saying. Essentially, negative Anima fuels trash beasts and positive Anima fuels Vital instruments(Jinkis).

But could the percentage of the types of negative feelings in the converted Anima affect the trash beasts physically?

What I mean by this is for example: the percentage of negative emotions in a polluted area is 50% sadness, 40% anger and 10% fear. When they get converted to Anima, instead of the beasts resembling a ferocious monster. Do you guys think it could look more... sad? Its roars would sound more like cries, more sluggish movements, you guys see the vision?

The main emotion making up the Anima could be reflected in the monster's demeanour.

Now if my theory is right, why haven't we seen trash beasts with a more melancholic or scared demeanour? Well, it's simple: trash beasts reflect the population's feelings, right? The story has made clear that the people of the underground are angry: They're mad at what they have been reduced to because of the ones living above them. So obviously all that anger is concentrated on the MAX which affects the monster's power.

°~THE PLAUSIBLE REASONS AS TO WHY TRASH BEASTS TARGET HUMANS~°

Ok so for this part of the essay, I'm really pulling stuff out of my ass😭😭. I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong on all of these but it's fun to make! I'm theorizing there are two reasons why trash beasts are targeting humans: for energy or due to the projecting of the citizens of the city.

-HOW CAN HUMANS FEED TRASH MONSTERS, WELL I HAVE TWO IDEAS-

- FOR ENERGY: All humans possess some amount of negativity in them. Whether or not they are a good person, it wouldn't be surprising if they hunt them for energy purposes. After all, animals hunt for sustenance, right?

- PROJECTION: Remember when I explained that trash beasts could be reflecting the population's anger? We all know that the majority of that anger is towards the people on top. Whether it's internalized or forward, anger is anger. You can imagine that a lot would wanna cause pain to them...So what if those violent thoughts get turned into Anima which powers up the beasts? Given that Anima is something that was converted, some of the specifics of that anger might have sorta got lost in translation. So when a trash monster sees a human, they won't be able to differentiate between the underground and the people on top.

All the creature really knows is that the anger is towards humans, and so they attack.

My first impression

BD's tough guy! Obviously meant to always be depicted with pretty boy next to him - typical contrasting complementing-each-other duo. BD lore incoming! More about Shinichiro (???)

My impression now

He got neglected T~T. Least fleshed-out BD founder. Unfairrrrrr

I truly need to gather every scenes with him and additional information about him to thoroughly extract everything I can find cuz damn without a bit of work he won't ever gain a proper shape in my mind

He's somewhat simultaneously cool-headed and hot-blooded. He could choose to talk to take care of issues - but he has always had the physical strength to punch his way through lol He's impatient, so although he can think about his actions, he doesn't spend a lot of time choosing them. Despite that, he never seems to lose composure.

I'm trusting him to be the only common sense BD 1st gen had (Shinichiro can appear sane but isn't, Takeomi has too much hubris and is out of touch with reality even when he feels bad to actually think things realistically through, Wakasa has common sense but he rather have fun so he disregards it). He joined them in their mess everytime, but it was to make sure they'd get out of there lol

I need to know just how many times him and Wakasa saved Shinichiro and Takeomi's asses.

Favorite thing about that character

He's one of the few characters that see their dream come true! :) Props to him for that, he deserves it! He got into delinquency very young, so it's nice to see he got out – even before the final timeline

Least favorite thing

Hard to say when there's so little about him

Maybe the lack of eyebrows but it's part of his charm so idk

!! The fact there's nothing about him without Wakasa! Wakasa has scenes without Benkei (I'm thinking Original Timeline) but the opposite is not true! It makes characterization harder for readers because he's always near Wakasa. He never interacts with anyone without Wakasa also interacting with them. Which greatly sucks. Let Benkei develops his personality dammit!

Favorite line/scene

Him nodding here. It doesn't have much purpose, Senju is not even looking their way, but Benkei truly cares about her as well

Favorite interaction that character has with another

Mutual instant understanding and trust with Wakasa. They've been archnemesis for a few (speculated) years before becoming the two literal guard dogs (Komainu) of Just Some Guy who showed up one day and made them be friend. It's been over a decade they hang out almost everyday. They know the other better than anyone else and their special attack requires them both for it to work. They're a duo, so, of course, they shouldn't be separated.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more

He got nothing with Takeomi in canon-story. I mean, of course there's a point to it - whether it's Takeomi's conscious or not fault, or for another reason: Takeomi is isolated from the rest of BD narratively speaking. And he never seemed to have actually connected with them - but the fact that 1) we only know those 4 from BD 1st gen (there were HUNDREDS of members. We didn't even get to know some captains :() 2) we don't even clearly see the dynamics between each of them back then

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character

Ughhh hard to say.

Delmon from Gachiakuta; plus they both have a pretty boy as their duo partner.

A headcanon about that character

Same as for Wakasa - I heavily inspired myself of irl Benkei's life to imagine what (TR) Benkei's childhood could've been like. It's a tough one for sure, but mostly: the previous Ragnarok gang members (1st and 2nd gen) were like big brothers to him. He spent his childhood roaming around with them. I mean, Ragnarok HAS to mean something very dear to Benkei - he got the logo tattooed on his body (at 13 at most) that's not nothing. He grew up rather poor. Raised by a single mother. He took most of his physical appearance from her (beside his eyes color). He was a troublemaker as a kid

He is used to emptying Wakasa's plate when Wakasa is not hungry anymore (same for Shinichiro and Takeomi) and is glad Senju came along to help with this lol (from what I remember Senju and Benkei are ranked in the top 3 of the biggest eaters while Wakasa was in the top 3 of least-biggest eaters; and if I don't recall correctly well take that as a hc)

idk if i like this design for my potential gachiakuta oc, but it'll do for now until i get to know her better.

anyways, idk her name yet, it'll come after i figure out her story.

i'm thinking her jinki is her "pet snake" (a wooden snake that's childhood toy given to her by her best friend (long gone (not deceased?))) that turns into a dragon. i think it'd be kinda cool if she could turn any toy animal into a jinki, buuuuuuut we'll see. i don't wanna ruin the novelty of rudo's entire character.

as for her backstory, i'll kinda just go with the flow as a write this. first drafts are first drafts 🤷🏿‍♀️ depending on my fixation with the series, she'll either be left to rot as is or she'll get a complete & total overhaul later on.

anyways, so i'm thinking her ancestors are from the sphere/sky. but somewhere along her family history, they got sent down to the abyss (and somehow survived). i kinda wanna make it into a thing where the family in ber ancestry was a big one, and because they were so big, the higher ups thought they were prostituting/selling the kids or hust doing something vaguely shady.....so they sent THE WHOLE FAMILY down. as if the kids would've been at fault in that situation lmaooo

a lot of them didn't survive, namely the parents and the younger kids. it was mostly the eldest & middle children that survived the fall. but even from there, not many managed to survive the toxins or skypeople traffickers, so it resulted in the eldest son and the surviving youngest daughter being the ones to carry on the family legacy.

each of the known surviving child were dedicated to having just one or two children each—provided they or their offspring even wanted children—and that was something that continued for generations until alitash tasifa's* generation.

(*that's her name now; alitash is an ethiopian name that means "may i never lose you" and tasifa is an amharic surname that means "hope". hopefully these meanings are correct! )

i think ali grew up very lonely because somehow, someway, her family lineage (that she knew of) grew smaller and smaller until it was only her and her parents—and of course her parents have to die at some point.

and i guess, since i mentioned a childhood best friend! maybe she ends up living with her childhood bestie & their family for a bit until something happens with them. i guess they ended up needing to move and they didn't/couldn't take ali with them. the best friend's larting gift was the wooden toy snake they made themselves (it was to replce this "trashy" toy lizard ali picked up randomly off the street). ali gave them her favorite "trashy" toy lizard in exchange.

once when ali went up to meet their bestie & the fam, she ends up finding out that no one knew anything about a new family moving in. and in her search for them, she discovers that they never even made it to town. but that's pretty much all she ended up finding out.

for a while, ali kind of just wandered around since she had no real place to go back to and no one was waiting for her either.

she ends up inadvertently meeting engine & riyo after they tripped over her seemingly lifeless body in the streets. ali had kind of given up at that point and was just wasting away, waiting to die, but the funny thing is, her jinki was wrapped around her, protecting her from the elements & predators. engine of course saw this and bet on her potential as a cleaner, so he reasoned with ali's jinki (gotta give it a name) and eventually, they were able to gain its trust so that they could take ali in.

it was hard for ali to open up at first, because she was convinced that she'd eventually cause the cleaners to disappear somehow...or make them "throw her away". but she has been with them ever since and has gained her old self back.

now, as for what her "old self" means....? aka, what her personality is.....idk. in my mind, ali is grown, maybe like 28. the first thing that comes to my mind is a "wine aunt" kinda vibe. she is generally cheerful and loving, maybe a little friendly-flirty, but a deep melancholy permeates her exterior sometimes. she doesn't have much book smarts (and she's insecure about it, which is why she has a penchant for studying), but she has a lot of street smarts.

she has complicated feelings on whether she wants a family herself or not one day. it's mostly because she has only one person on her mind when it comes to love, and she doesn't even know if that person is dead or alive.

also irt her childhood best friend, i'm absolutely imagining them being a minor vandal or some sort of antagonist.

i'm also wanting for a relative (or relatives) of hers to show up at some point. like from one of those lost siblings all those generations ago. i want my pookie to have a family 🥺 i mean, she'll have a found family with the cleaners, but you know. having options isnt bad.

ummmmm i think that's it. for now anyways. so much of this is off rip & so vague, but it's a decent start for now i think.

📚 Review 📚 Gachiakuta Vol. 2

I was too curious about Gachiakuta to pass up the second volume! The first volume introduced us to an interesting character and a dangerous world. The second volume? Well, it lets us see more of the stakes and the situation Rudo has fallen into (literally).

I can already tell this will be one of those series that gets stronger with time. I suspected it with the first volume, but Gachiakuta Vol. 2 confirmed it for me. So, I would absolutely encourage readers to get on board now!

This volume introduced a whole bunch of secondary characters, mostly Cleaners (trash beast exterminators). A few stand out immediately, but I'm looking forward to getting to know them all over the following volumes (fingers crossed, that's what happens!).

Hey hey, I’ve got a Gachiakuta question for you: what are your thoughts on the Cleaners emblem? I haven’t seen anyone talk about it anywhere, and my brain has been doing backflips about it. When I look at it I see a crow within the circle of an umbrella- there’s a crook in the center, and the 8 points on the outside made me think of Umbreaker (Octa-Shredder). I think this hints at lots of stuff, especially who could have founded the Cleaners. Ever since I heard the theory that Umbreaker might be Enjin’s second vital instrument- the emblem makes me think that it’s been passed down through the Cleaners specifically. AND THEN THE CROW! At first I only saw the eye (like Corvus’ tattoo), but then all the stuff with Kuro made me think it was the eye of a crow. I see your analysis posts all the time and wanted to share my thoughts :-)

Nnhhhh... The Cleaners' symbol you say?

I have essentially no stable theories about it, and avoid thinking about it! Mostly because the symbol in and of itself looks similar to what you're describing, but if we are to go with this hypothesis, the questions it raises about Enjin are endless... Too endless for my brain to handle, so I find myself thinking more often about the more standard theory that a lot of other fans on other apps and sites hold, which is "symbol=sun=Apollo, so Greek myths have something to do with this, something something Typhon and Cerberus in the myths, something something reference to Delos".

Truth be told I am not a fan of THAT theory either. I have no clue what to think about the symbol, so I just leave it alone and wait until there is a proper reveal.

It's not the same as with the "Corvus=Kuro" theory because I have plenty of evidence for that. We don't know enough about Enjin's mentor/person he admired in order to make theories about him, the umbrella and how Enjin became part of the Cleaners though.

But if I HAVE to make a theory about it... I will go along with what people on Reddit have pointed out.

If I look closely at the symbol I actually don't see Enjin's umbrella. I see the sun. And Corvus's eye. What's more important here is the eye and the sun.

Sun: symbol of godliness and purity and hope. Pretty obvious knowing what the Cleaners want, which is protecting others... At surface level. We know that Corvus himself wants to find out about secrets. The Sun therefore becomes something akin to what light was for the movement of Enlightenment: if light is Reason shining through superstition, here the Sun could be the Cleaners seeking truth amidst the absence of information and the void it created, and not just them creating warmth for humans (the warmth of protection that is).

I see an eye also, and I think "Macaca Icol". There is an eye underneath his graffiti, symbolizing in all likelyhood a friend of his. The symbols underneath Macaca himself are all his friends. So a friend of Macaca Icol, the "eye" friend, created the Cleaners, or was an inspiration for their organization.

Now, my brainstorming goes as follows:

-There are lots of eyes at the base of the Cleaners.

-There is an eye at the back of Corvus's head.

-Corvus is often out. He wasn't present during the time Rudo and company visited Kuro.

-Kuro shapeshifts and has a friend he cared about like Corvus, he has a personal interest in the Cleaners like Corvus, he has forgotten things whereas Corvus HATES forgetting things and having books with missing info on them.

-Macaca Icol is a spellcaster: the city of Spellcasters loves him.

Kuro shapeshifts. Spellcasters make spells. Shape-shifting is considered a spell, traditionally, in the genre of fantasy media...

... Do you see where I am going with this?

Thing is, Corvus seems to be tied into the group of Macaca Icol's friends. If the founder of the Cleaners is Canis, then he must have been friends with the guy represented by the symbol with the eye underneath Macaca Icol's graffiti in order to put an eye in the logo of the Cleaners. I believe that guy represented by the eye is Corvus. And maybe, just maybe, if Kuro=Corvus, Corvus is a spellcaster...

But none of what I see in the logo makes me think of an umbrella. Then again, only time will tell. Maybe your theory is more sound than mine.

EDIT: I am seeing a crow now too, actually. It is actually embedded in the symbol. So again, emphasis is put on Corvus and Kuro. The "waves" which are spiky above the eye are actually wings of feathers, although stylized.

I am BDSM favorable. I also do not think that liking or creating dark content makes you a bad person.

I do not ascribe to veganism, and although I am not anti-vegan, I do not agree with the political side of veganism. Especially the misanthropic side of it. If you on a diet? Good. If you personally can't handle the thought of eating a non-human animal? Good. If you want to tell omnivores to end their lives and equiparate them to nazis? Fuck off.
