To put it simply: you're allowed to have fun in public as long as it doesn't infringe on anybody else's experience.

Going on your phone in the movie theater? Infringing on other people's experience.

Listening to music/videos loudly in public? Infringing on other people's experience.

Making a scene and insisting that it is completely fine despite people telling you politely that hey, please wear headphones if you're going to do this thing? Infringing on other people's experiences.

You know that feeling of annoyance when a baby cries very loudly in public? Yeah. That's what everyone feels when you do things like this. Except it's multiplied by 1000 because you're not an infant that is experiencing everything for the first time. You do not have to deal with the sensation of temperature change, strangers touching you and taking you away from your safe person at a whim, randomly being transported into new places with new smells and new noises every second of every day, or being unable to explain any of this to anyone.

my unpopular opinion is that i hate tiktok because now people just publicly watch loud ass videos in public spaces with no regard for anyone else. 100% it was not this bad with youtube, it’s such a different thing with tiktok. put on headphones. you are grown.
