Crows as Content Creators
Nina: language learning YouTube main channel, will comment on world happenings in other languages and teach people all the swears. Matthias appears pretty often in the Fjerdan videos, but the others pop up often too. Most popular video is “Rich Boy Kerch vs. Country Boy Kerch: Who Will Win?!” And it’s just her asking Kaz and Wylan to say things and then cackling when they get mad at each other. She also streams on Twitch where she plays cozy games that she gets WAY too worked up about. Is a deviant in Sims 4. 300k on YouTube, 450k on Twitch
Jesper: commentary YouTuber, specifically in the Gabi Belle/Andy King way where he like holds his microphone in hand and also walks around his room just chatting and yapping. TikTok for gag jokes and coin tricks, as well as showing off his boyfriend. 1 mill on YouTube, 500k on TikTok
Matthias: aesthetic day-in-the-life instagram creator, lots of nature and Nina pics. Runs an every-so-often YouTube where he teaches dog training tricks. 20k on YouTube, 200k on Insta
Kaz: finance advice TikTok, but like actually helpful advice, like that one PR woman who does really great breakdowns. Kind of the smarmy Hank Green of finance, is constantly telling people to stop worrying about the economy when they get too excited. 600k
Inej: TikTok with her aerial silk performances and mini cut up tutorials for stretching. YouTube for longer stretch tutorials, with daily prayers to the Saints, and an actual gym vlog montage. Sometimes does meditation guides. 2 mill on TikTok, 1 mill on Youtube
Wylan: kills on TikTok, actually. Has an instagram where he posts flute facts and tutorials, put posts all his actual music and covers on TikTok. Streams horror games every so often, rarely phased by jump-scares, though they always get Jesper when he joins him. Always drinks a fabcy new drink that no one knows the name of, and constantly just drops, “yeah, I’m snacking on lychee from Shu Han. Or “pineapple from The Southern Colonies” And everyone’s like ??? 3 mill on TikTok, 600k on Insta, 400k on Twitch

Feeling conflicted about the cyberpunk thingy impulse is going for because like yeah it’s a great theme and I like the aesthetics a lot but what I really like most about cyberpunk is the themes of corporate alienation and/or transhumanism etc etc which I know will not be addressed at all and in fact it’s kind of stupid of me to expect that at all from a minecraft series. Does anyone else get that or just me

im so soft for amazingphil hiatus era videos where dan is silently filming him behind the camera but you can tell it’s him bc of the movements and the way phil keeps looking up into his eyes when laughing at something it’s especially noticeable in the tour of my plants video

My beloved partner is making me watch the Amazing Digital Circus, and unfortunately, having worked in 3D on my way to my degree, I have been screaming at Netflix for the last 30 minutes about overlighting and overdesigning backgrounds for complicated multi-colored characters, overanimating (WHY ARE THE TEETH MOVING LIKE LIPS?!?!?), and just not hitting plot or comedy points in the flow they needed to really sell me on the show. I appreciated what it was going for but it made me insane that they were this close to something really good and technically amazing (they have the chops for it, obviously, holy shit this takes skill) and didn’t stick that landing in some crucial ways for me.
And now I’m watching episode 2 (because it has been demanded of me lol) and I am about to cry because the background has more affinity and the correct amount of contrast with the subjects of the scene, the animation feels more motivated/purposeful, jokes are timed better, the eerie undertones actually FEEL eerie, overall an 11/10 improvement that really makes me wish they had reworked the pilot some more before it went to Netflix. I’m still on the fence overall but I’m proud of the team working on it for how much work they’ve put in, and it shows how much they’ve learned about how to do what they love doing at a higher level between episodes.

"we want less sanitized representation of mental illness" you folks couldn't even handle Hades of Hades video game and think that Zagreus and Persephone not hating him forever is basically like unconditionally forgiving him

Some of y'all need to stop throwing around words like "fascist" or "colonizer" at your favorite children's cartoon about friendship, kindness, teamwork, and respecting your parents.
Because it's very clear that y'all don't know what those words mean.
The popular cartoon villain of the day is not a fascist or a colonizer; wanting to take over the world is a stock villain trope, not a political commentary on our interesting times.

GIRL TALK: " WOMENHOOD AND FEMINITY"
One thing I DISLIKE ABOUT SOCIETY is how women and girls are not allowed to like childish things without being hated on. For example, I like plushies, stuffed animals and teddy bears because to me there cute infact I have a whole collection but society views those things as childish and therefore criticizes women and girls for being interested in those items. Another example is I've seen alot of girlie's on social media who love bows some I've even seen show there collection and where hated on. People where quick to criticize saying those things are childish. But to me women and girls liking childlike things is normal. Infact, I would've even take it a step futher and say the reason people get upset is because it shows a level of innocence vulnerability and purity which women and girls are not allowed to be any of those things without being criticized. If women or girls( which I've seen this happen on social media) are the slightest bit of innocent pure vulnerable and dare I say CHILDLIKE in terms of personality they get CRUCIFIED. when these traits are not a bad thing to have alot of it i also feel is rooted in misogyny because misogyny teaches society women and girls are not human therefore showcasing human traits like vulnerability innocence purity or even childlike manners is a bad thing. I don't know personally this is just my opinion buts it's something I've been noticing alot ESPECIALLY on social media. Hopefully it will change.
Sincerely, GIGI 💗💗
Please feel more then welcome to leave your opinions in the comments in a respectful manner i am very interested in having this discussion also let me know if i should do more of these kinds of post cause i really want to create a safe space for us as girls and women to have certain discussions. 🎀🎀💕💕💓💓

Emily + Poetry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

"It's not that teen girls love Nine Inch Nails songs with different lyrics. It's that teen girls loved Nine Inch Nails songs with those lyrics — all that jocky, cocky, screaming rage, all that raw male power that was supposed to scare or exclude us was relatable. Teenage girls get rage; they get self-hatred. Teenage girls know what it's like to want to cuss and scream and fuck and thrash around incoherently because you don't have the agency to do any of those things. Don't open your eyes, take it from me, I have found you can find happiness in slavery: What is that but the feminine condition, sung REALLY REALLY LOUD?" (Jude Ellison S. Doyle via @transmascmikey)
How is this not Emily? I imagine that Emily had a rocky relationship with her mom. That her mom was a bit of a control freak. I think joining the team reminded her how to have fun again. Remember how Hotch characterizes Prentiss to Strauss: "Prentiss overcompensates because she doesn't yet feel that she's a part of the team." At the beginning Aaron is right, but he then goes on to say, "She needn't worry." Hotch knows his team so well. And Em gets a chance to really be herself at the BAU. I am so happy that Emily got to have a family in the BAU. At it's core Criminal Minds is a found family story, and it makes me feel good inside.

btw i had the haunting realization yesterday that saltburn is actually potentially supposed to be a social commentary of some kind but emerald fennell is just straight up so bad at doing social commentary in movies that i didn’t even notice. miraculously this does not stop it from being a five star movie to me

There's something of Persephone in every pop princess, but Britney embodies it most purely: the eternal maiden dancing on the edge of darkness. The world wants its pop goddesses innocent and dangerous at once, sweet and sultry, controlled and wild. They must live in that liminal space between innocence and knowledge, like a pomegranate seed caught between teeth. The public eye becomes our modern underworld. The pop princess dances between realms, seen by the world as neither fully mortal nor divine.
