If I had a cap for every time that Kyle McLachlan, in a big budget tv show for a major franchise, plays a overtly caring father that turns out to have become a mass murderer who still believes himself to have been doing the right thing to protect his family, and also kills his wife who he loves very much;
to a fan favourite female protagonist that has traumatic family secrets with major impact on the story, a very very very old parent, and a hodgepodge group of allies to take him down with, I would have 2 caps but it’s weird that it happened twice…

God.. every single fandom.. the racism is just insidious. I say this as a white gal, but fuck, every time I go into a new fandom or one that exists, it’s always the same cookie cutter white men and x reader bullshit, and then the actual interesting black or POC characters are always ignored or demonised…
I just want to read and talk about people who look like my friends, who I want to be friends with. And fandom just.. I don’t know why I interact with this place sometimes. All you insidious fucks want to do is simp over a space Nazi or a white supremacist that happens to look hot. Fuck you and fuck that.

false god
spencer reid x fem!bau!reader
summary: it's never a good idea to reminisce about a relationship, especially one that ended with betrayal left you with a permanent scar
word count: 1.2k
warnings: angst, no happy ending, major character injury, talks of general CM related violence and murder (nothing graphic), jeid you squint but its not endorsed lol
a/n: wrote this in an hour when i was feeling sad. its not proof read and i lowkey don't love it but whomp whomp
She always thought that the ground looked so far away just after take-off. Everyone below looked like specs of dirt that you had to really focus on to see. How insignificant everything looked compared to the vastness of the sky above. The illusion of importance shattered by the cover of clouds.
Pulling the blind down she sat back in her seat, headphones drowning out the noise in her head. The jet was silent, too focused in quiet contemplation of the reading material in front of them.
Her body instinctively leaned slightly to the left, seeking the comfort it once found in his embrace. But the illusion was shattered, and she knew that no matter how much she wanted to, she could no longer lean into the familiarity. She pushed her body towards the window, forcing her eyes out to the clouds.
Her thoughts, once filled with his presence, felt unmoored.
Now she could focus wholly on work. But the space that thoughts of him once filled was now left behind and filled with a silence that echoed through her. She was alone with the sky, the clouds, the vast expanse of the world below, and her thoughts.
His scent still lingered, he’d spent so long in the seat next to her that it must have melded with the fabric. A mix of pine and the cold winter morning air. She closed her eyes, a single tear escaping, sliding down her cheek. She was left with nothing but the ghost of his presence, a cruel reminder of what once was.
But now, the seat remained cold and empty. Even the scent of him, hugging her senses, used to be a source of comfort, was now a bitter reminder of the fallout between them. She hugged herself as if trying to fill the void as vast as the sky.
She forced herself to breathe, each inhale a sharp reminder of the love that was no longer hers. But it felt different now, hollow and cold as if the warmth he once provided had faded.
You see, Spencer Reid had broken her heart, and he’d done it easily.
Spencer Reid had chosen to protect someone else over her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The takedown was supposed to have been simple.
She turned her head slightly, the dust from the room seemed to have uprooted and created a cloud of mist. Morgan looked like he was running towards her. Why was he running towards her? Why was she on the ground? Why did everything feel so cold? It was the middle of July, she’d been warm in her Kevlar vest. Why were her fingers so so cold?
‘Agent down!’
The words echoed in her ears. It was as if the fog cleared and she tried to sit up, pain lit up her body like electricity before going numb. Suddenly everything seemed so silent. The world shifted, she could feel the cold concrete on her back as clearly as if it were in her bones.
Morgan was fast, it must have only taken him seconds to get to her. Which was odd, she’d been standing next to Spencer, but she couldn’t see him from her line of sight. She tried to force herself up again. only to be met with Morgan’s strong hands pushing on her shoulders.
‘No, don’t move.’ She turned her head to the side and through the haze of what was happening she saw something that made her eyebrows furrow in confusion. Maybe she’d hit her head. She must have hit her head.
Spencer was standing in front of JJ, his whole body poised like a shield protecting her. His arms around her shoulder, her hands gripping the front of his vest. Then the confusion unravelled like a loose thread, tugged on.
Spencer had moved to protect her. He’d left her side to protect JJ from the Unsub’s shooting. He’d actively moved further away from her to go and stand in front of JJ. But he wasn’t in love with JJ. He was supposed to be in love with her, so why had he gone out of his way to protect JJ? Was he in love with JJ?
They’d always been close, she knew that. But this? This felt more than friendship, you don’t dive in front of just a friend instinctively if the supposed love of your life is right there in the line of fire. Surely, your instinct is to follow your heart, is that what Spencer had done? Had he followed the true line of his heart?
She wanted to ask him why. Why he had done this? But her voice had deserted her, her throat drowned in icy silence. She felt the darkness creeping in, wrapping around her like a shroud.
The pain of the betrayal was raw, every nerve in her body seemed to buzz with it. She felt like a marionette whose strings had been cut, left to crumble under the weight of her realisation.
Morgan was next to her, holding her, placing his weight on her torso, he was lit up in a golden halo and his eyes looked like they were gleaming with fear and un-spilt tears.
‘Where’s the damn medic?!’ He shouted backwards in what must have been the general direction of the team.
‘It’s five minutes out.’ The voice was level, in charge. It must have been Hotch, but her eyes were getting too heavy to check.
She wanted to tell Morgan to stop looking so scared, to assure him she'd pull through like always, but the words died in her throat. Her breath hitched as a new wave of pain washed over her.
'Hang on,' Morgan pleaded, 'just hang on.'
She could hear Spencer, his voice sounded panicked, high pitched and his breathing thready. He was muttering something that sounded like an apology and a lot of cursing or praying to God. She couldn’t tell.
She wanted to reach out, to comfort him, but the strength had left her body. The edges of her vision were blurring, and the last thing she heard was Morgan's desperate plea echoing in her fading consciousness.
'Stay with us,' a voice commanded, each word punctuated with a raw desperation. But the darkness was too inviting, too persistent. And as the world around her faded, she couldn't shake off the sinking feeling that something irrevocably had changed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The hum of the engine lured her out of her memory. Maybe it was her fault. She’d loved Spencer like it was breathing, had worshipped at the altar of his love, only to find it empty. It was clear he hadn’t done the same, that convenience was simply his reason.
The false god she had created of him had fallen, shattered into pieces. The truth of his mortality, his flawed humanity, had never been so palpable. The feeling was both liberating and terrifying.
She looked out at the sky and the world below, the vast expanse seeming to mirror the emptiness within her. Emptiness echoed in her ears, filling her with a sense of loss that was almost unbearable.
The scar below her left collarbone throbbed beneath her shirt, it could almost be mistaken for heartache.

one of the best things about agents of shield is that it does all of the tropes, way over the top trauma, character revivals, alternate reality plots, evil versions of characters, betrayals, mind control, time travel plots, etc., things which are usually done either way too seriously or as a cheap joke/low effort filler content that sometimes doesnt fit the tone or show it happens in at all.
but it does them properly the way theyre supposed to be, integrating them into its world, and it shows why they are actually popular and that they work if you spend any real effort on them and try to do them justice instead of always playing them as a cliché trope.
yeah, its an interesting storyline to see the goodhearted main character be turned evil against their will and then deal with the fallout. whod have thunk.
and at the same time it manages to not lose the kind of campy feel associated with them, in a really charming way. i dont know if im making sense, i just waited for a really long time for someone to actually do these things right cause they have so much potential, and they usually dont get to explore it beyond very superficial levels.
agents of shield is awesome. fin.
#like its seriously my favourite show#it hits every niche i have#except for queerness#there are just so many storybeats and opportunitys for character development that are completely thrown by the wayside in so many shows#and aos just does them right and is one of the best shows ever as a result#agents of shield#aos meta#tropes are only cheap if you make them

Agents of SHIELD diverging from the main MCU canon is the best thing that ever happened to the show.
Having a cable network show that's influenced by the events of a movie franchise was a great unique idea that in my opinion worked incredibly well for the first couple of seasons of the show. It was also the only piece of media that fully dealt with the fallout and the behind-the-scenes story of the movies.
But when the whole MCU started to resemble the convoluted giant we have today, a show like AOS would definitely get lost in the mess. Taking a step back from the canon to focus on what the show could be without the constant looming presence of the "what will happen in the movies?" really helped the show keep its original charm and end under its own conditions.
Sure, the last couple of seasons could've dealt with the Snap, half of the world population vanishing, and so on. But isn't it more fun to travel through time dealing with semi-robotic aliens, making fun concepts like time loops, and bringing back dead characters as LMDs?
And instead of furthering a general plot of the MCU, how about we focus on these characters and their personal stories? Let's give them a happy epilogue that beautifully ties in with their character's growth.
PS: What would be really nice is if the show had some more involvement with The Runaways and Cloak and Dagger. Like that cool older cousin that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the family so they do their own thing on the side but later on, adopts the other family misfits.

White Wolf's Bane Masterlist - Bucky/Reader and Bucky/OFC Series by BirdOfHermes (LokisBirdofHermes)
So I know that I only post my Loki/Reader and Thor/Reader content to this blog, but I felt like I'd be missing out by not posting my Bucky/Reader and Bucky/Original Female Character series here for people to find on their own as well. I'm not sure if people are sharing my Bucky/Reader fics on Tumblr the way they do my Harry/Murphy or Loki and Thor/Reader content, so I'll just dump it here just in case.
This is in chronological order of when I posted them. I'll reblog with updates and new links as I write and post more content.
White Wolf's Bane series page
Anchor: You are the lead agent for a SHIELD tactical unit and you've run several missions with James "Bucky" Barnes, but something awful happens and you're the only one who can help him. Bucky realizes he's not as okay as he thought he was and decides to seek some solace by becoming your friend. And maybe more. Pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier series AU.
The Winter Suitor: In this modern world, Mr. Bucky Barnes is a little behind the times, so he asks you to help him navigate the world of online dating. He's a regular at your diner and so he drops by to get tips on the best way to woo a lady of interest. Turns out, though, maybe you're both wooing someone a little closer to home.
Based on a line from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier show about Bucky trying online dating.
Kick It Up a Notch: You are a SHIELD Agent working with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on an assignment to bring down a Russian arms dealer named Claudia Petrov. You're undercover as the Winter Soldier's new handler, but the arms dealer decides she wants a piece of him in a way that has nothing to do with assassinations. Needless to say, you're unamused and things quickly kick themselves up a notch as you deal with the fallout of her "request." Post Endgame, pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier series AU.
One Size Fits All: You are a SHIELD field agent on assignment with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes to retrieve some stolen SHIELD technology at an illegal auction at a white tie event. Out of all the things that could go wrong, your SHIELD-issued disguise doesn't fit due to your shapely body, so you and Bucky are forced to come up with another plan to complete the mission. And as you do, you discover that maybe there is a little more to this partnership than you thought. Pre Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
Thursday Blues: You've come down with a rotten case of the Thursday Blues. Thankfully, it turns out the cure is one James "Bucky" Barnes. Bucky/Reader.
Avenging Angel: You're walking home one night in New York and the unthinkable happens--a mugger attacks you. Fortunately, you have an avenging angel in your corner in the form of one Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes. Bucky/Reader.
Comfortable: You're pretty sure you were the first SHIELD agent slash spy to ever say the words, “shit, I forgot my weighted blanket.”
In which you, a SHIELD agent working with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on a mission in what remains of Sokovia, forgot to pack your weighted blanket and have anxiety and therefore cannot sleep without it, so Bucky comes up with an alternative solution. Pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier, post Endgame. Bucky/Reader.
El Tango de la Boda: You are a SHIELD agent who gets tapped for a mission with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes: attend a wedding and intercept the sale of an illicit item. The catch is the exchange is at the target's wedding, so you and Bucky have to pretend to be a married couple. And you both realize you're way too good at being a fake couple for some reason. Bucky/Reader one-shot.
The Cookout: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes has been granted the highest honor: attending your family cookout. However, he knows the only way to be invited back is to make the potato salad properly, so you teach Bucky how to make it and then it's off to hang out with your family. Will Bucky fit in? Bucky/Black Female Reader.
I'm Just a Square in Social Circle: You are having an extremely hard time taking the next step in any of your romantic relationships. You're painfully shy and nervous when it comes to the physical stuff and after a third potential beau turns you down, you ask your close friend Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes for advice. And it turns out Bucky has an idea. Bucky/Reader.
Die Another Day: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes has been kidnapped by ex-Hydra agents who want to turn him back into the Winter Soldier, but they're inside an unsanctioned zone for American agents. You're told that Bucky can't be rescued, but you're not about to sit on your ass and let them torture him, so you plan a rescue by yourself. Bucky/Reader.
Defrosting: You and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes are working on an assignment in Siberia to stop a bunch of gun runners, but you fall through the ice on a frozen lake while chasing the suspects and nearly freeze to death. Bucky manages to get you out and, well, there's only one way to thaw you out before you catch hypothermia... Bucky/Reader.
300 Seconds: You are a SHIELD agent working alongside Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes to take down an incredibly elusive ex-Hydra arms dealer named Ivan Volkov. You receive a tip that Volkov will be at an exclusive BDSM club and it is vital that you secure evidence from his cell phone to arrest and convict him, meaning you need to distract him for exactly five minutes while his phone is being cloned. You and Bucky will pose as a dominant and submissive couple entertaining him for those vital five minutes, resulting in a drastic change in your partnership and relationship. Bucky/Reader.
Just When I Thought I'd Seen It All: Bucky's being dragged to one of Sam Wilson's legendary Halloween costume parties and begs you to go with him so he'll have someone to talk to. You begrudgingly agree to attend and are shocked to find out you and Bucky have chemistry both in and out of the office. Bucky/Reader.
Think Twice: You are a SHIELD agent who's been invited to a work Christmas party and so you beg your close friend, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, to come along with you to keep you company. At the Christmas party, you find out there is a male coworker who is interested in you and suddenly, Bucky says a few things without thinking twice and your relationship is headed for a drastic change.
Kiss of Life: You are the personal assistant to one Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes--a top notch lawyer who works with veterans. Everything's going great...until one day you come in and find that Bucky is in trouble. It turns out your benevolent boss is actually an incubus whose usual "donors" have suddenly abandoned him, meaning he has to feed tonight or he'll die. And seeing as he doesn't have anyone else, you volunteer as tribute and things get complicated. Bucky/Reader AU.
Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained: You are a twenty-something who is good friends with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes and you have a secret that you've finally resolved to tell him: that you're still a virgin and you were wondering if he would consider being your first. It's a risk for your friendship, but you figure nothing ventured, nothing gained. Bucky/Reader, post FATWS.
It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To: It's Valentine's Day and you're throwing yourself a pity party, but one Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes decides to crash said pity party and things get interesting. Bucky/Reader. Post Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Distracted: You are a SHIELD medic on mission with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes and the worst happens--you're caught by a Hydra agent and nearly killed, but Bucky saves you at the last second. You're now left dealing with the trauma of almost dying and the last person you ever expected to console you comes to your aid. Bucky/Reader.
The Buffer: You are a SHIELD agent on an assignment with a team to bust Hydra bases and you get hit with an experimental gun that was powered by the Mind Stone, giving you accidental telepathy and empathy. Bucky offers to take care of you alone since he's got such tight control over his emotions, effectively becoming your emotional buffer until your SHIELD team finds the man who shot you and reverse-engineers an antidote to the telepathy. It's going to be a bumpy ride in the meantime. Bucky/Reader.
A Welcome Distraction: It's one of the worst cliches in all of fiction, but you're smack dab in the middle of it--you come home early from work one night to find your boyfriend cheating on you with another woman, so you head to a nearby bar to drink away your troubles. It turns out that's a bar where Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes is a regular, and he offers to help take your mind off your woes. Post Falcon and Winter Soldier. Bucky/Black Female Reader.
The Accountant: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes is settling into life after the Flag Smashers and needs a little bit of help, which is where he meets you: a SHIELD accountant proficient with SHIELD's wonky printers in the copy room. You strike up a friendship that is going well until one day, a rather unusual circumstance makes you avoid Bucky for the foreseeable future. Will your friendship survive a little awkward thing like having a smoking hot wet dream about the sergeant? Bucky's POV.
Armed and Dangerous: You are a barista at a coffee shop where Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes begins to frequent. You're fascinated with the sight of him and that vibranium arm, being an engineer working on her masters' degree, but you're too nervous to approach him. Then one day, Sergeant Barnes decides to introduce himself. Two-shot BuckyReader.
Cry to Me: You go over to your boyfriend's place after leaving work early only to find out he's been cheating on you with a coworker. Distraught, you return home and your next door neighbor, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, overhears you screaming at your ex-boyfriend over the phone. It turns out he's a bakery shop owner and offers to make you some sweets to help heal your broken heart and offers to teach you how to make sweets at home. You take him up on the offer and find that Bucky himself is sweeter than anything he makes in his shop. Baker Bucky/Reader AU.
Fractured: You are a former Black Widow who was broken free of the control after Natasha Romanov destroyed the program. You've been using your freedom to right the wrongs that the Black Widow program forced you to carry out, but one night you run into Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on an op. You and he were part of a joint venture between the Black Widow program and Hydra to produce another Super Soldier through impregnation, but it never took. And this is the first time you've seen him since you both were freed from mind control, so there is a lot of trauma for two fractured people to get through together. Bucky/Asset Reader.
The Gentle Men: You, a PR rep for the Avengers, just went on yet another absolutely terrible date. Steve and Bucky are sympathetic to your troubles and offer to take you out themselves to show you a good time and to prove there are still gentlemen out there in the world. And things get even more interesting at the end of the night after you make a joke and find out both Avengers are more down bad for you than you thought. Bucky/Reader/Steve. Post Civil War, pre Infinity War AU.
A Cradle Song: You and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes are happily married and have been for a couple of years. Bucky returns from a SHIELD mission with some food for thought--parenthood. He asks if you want to have a family someday. After careful consideration, you realize you'd love to have a baby with Bucky Barnes. Bucky/Reader babyfic.
Too Sweet: You are a SHIELD agent who regularly runs missions with Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers, and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes. One night after a mission, you get insomnia and can't sleep, so you go make some coffee, intending to bring some to Bucky, only to overhear in his quarters singing a love song and playing guitar. You are absolutely enraptured upon finding that Bucky Barnes has an excellent singing voice and can't resist sneaking back night after night to hear him sing. But maybe Bucky's feelings aren't as mysterious as you think they are...
Bucky/Reader songfic, slight AU.

Something New
T'Challa Udaku x Stark!Reader
Summary- Things go better than (Y/N) expected when she meets the royals of Wakanda...
Warnings- Obscene words 😅 nothing else
GIF Credits to @nicolyyyyy
The stress levels were peaking for the Avengers in the recent times. With an inner fallout and an external takeover of their authority was making every single one anxious.
(Y/N) Stark, the adopted daughter of Howard and Maria Stark and sister of Tony Stark, was allotted the work of being the diplomat on the Avengers' behalf and receive the King of Wakanda and his group.
Perhaps it was because of the accident in Lagos, Nigeria where Wanda had unintentionally killed their citizens, that she was chosen to do the job, instead of the UN workers. (Y/N) knew how it felt to lose control of their powers. The helplessness and the anxiety were the worst. And having similar powers like Wanda, she could clearly understand the girl.
As she stood in the airport, waiting for the royalty to show up, she reflected on her life in the last few months. For her, personally, it had been difficult after Ultron.
She was in a serious relationship with Steve Rogers, much to Tony's dismay. But the keyword was: was. After she found out about his "closeness" with Sharon Carter, (Y/N) just couldn't continue. For Steve, it was always Peggy or Sharon, never her.
Their strained relationship's thread finally broke when the Sokovia Accords came, dividing the entire team into two. While (Y/N) had decided that it was for the best to sign them, Steve had disagreed.
"They are here, Ms. Stark," one of her assigned assistants said meekly, making her look up to find a group of well dressed people walking towards them. A silent power and authority mixed with comfort and gentleness surrounding them.
A dangerous aura, (Y/N) had come to notice in her times and experiences as both, a SHIELD agent and an Avenger.
She greeted them with a bow of her head, "King T'Chaka." The older man smiled, a polite and a genuine smile unlike the fabricated one most people wear. "Our deepest condolences for what happened in Lagos. Our teammate is new and not proficient yet. She never intended to do so," (Y/N) spoke as she had practiced.
The King of Wakanda only smiled, nodding his head politely. "What happened is behind us, Ms. Stark. But the future lies ahead of us," T'Chaka said with a wisdom very few possessed. "Indeed, Your Majesty."
Perhaps her work won't be so hard, especially since the King was humble, unlike most of the men in power she has ever handled.
"I am sure this must feel like you are back in your days in business," T'Chaka said, making (Y/N) nod. "Yes," she replied, feeling the nostalgia surround her. Though (Y/N) of the present times hated how she behaved when she was younger. She was extremely arrogant and a narcissist woman who cared only for the dollars paid to her family business after a deal.
"Meet my son, T'Challa, Ms. Stark. He is the future of Wakanda, just as you and your brother are of Stark Industries," T'Chaka said proudly, placing a hand on his son's shoulder. (Y/N) glanced to the man beside the king, feeling her heart skip a beat as she noticed the handsome prince by the King's side.
"Your Majesty," she greeted, respectfully, as she was taught in the mannerism classes she had to take before this day. "Ms. Stark, it is a pleasure to meet you at last," T'Challa said, extending his hand. (Y/N) placed her significantly smaller hand in his, shaking it politely.
"Please, we can continue the formalities in our way," (Y/N) said, gesturing to the cars lined up for the party. (Y/N) eyed the women lined behind the king and his son, feeling a tad bit intimidated by the way they seem to access her.
T'Chaka noticed the way (Y/N) was looking at the Dora Milaje, chuckling, he spoke, "They are the Dora Milaje. An all women's elite group of warriors, bodyguards to the crown." (Y/N) nodded understandingly, smiling a bit.
"Must be interesting," she commented, making T'Chaka laugh. "I have heard that you yourself are proficient in combats," he said, as they walked towards the black cars. "Not much, Your Majesty. Only much to fit in as a SHIELD agent," (Y/N) said, feeling shy out of a sudden as she felt a pair of eyes on her back.
At last, with a bit of small argument, three Dora Milaje warriors, whose name (Y/N) was yet to know, settled in the first car; while (Y/N), her trusted driver, the King and T'Challa sat in the second Range Rover. The rest settled into the third car.
The atmosphere in the car remained between awkward and comfortable. (Y/N) was constantly keeping an eye on the outside world, watching for any security breach in the plan.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her coat, making her sigh, knowing way too well who it was. Accepting the call, she placed one earbud in her ear, keeping her voice below whisper, "What do you need?"
"Cool up, dear sister," she heard her brother's voice from the Bluetooth device, making her scoff rather loudly. She watched as all the pair of eyes in the car was on her. "Hang up, if you have no work, Tony," she hissed under her breath.
Tony was having the moment of his life as (Y/N) was getting frustrated rather too quickly. "Why are you getting riled up so quickly, sister. Is your company too hot?" (Y/N) could hear the smirk in his voice. "Shut up, Tony freaking Stark," she hissed.
Tony left out a heartfelt laugh, making (Y/N) even more irritated. "Oh come on, (Y/N). You can tell me," he said. "Shut the fucking up and hang up!" She exclaimed loudly.
(Y/N)'s eyes widened as she met the driver's eyes, suddenly feeling embarrassed as she felt T'Chaka and T'Challa's eyes on her. "Get lost, you bastard," (Y/N) hissed, hanging up before letting her head fall in defeat. "I am extremely sorry for my obscene words, Your Majesties," she apologized, biting down on her lip.
T'Chaka laughed while T'Challa's serious mask of expression changed into a beautiful smile. "These are normal in siblings, Ms. Stark. I hear them all the time from my youngest," T'Chaka assured, making (Y/N) smile.
Her advanced phone vibrated again, making her groan. Accepting the call without glancing at the caller ID, she threatened, "If you called me again, I am going to cut your precious jewel off you." "Someone sounds angry," Rhodey said sarcastically, ending with a chuckle.
"Rhodes? I am sorry," (Y/N) sighed, rubbing her face. "I am informed to tell you to take T'Chaka and T'Challa to the UN Headquarters directly," Rhodey said. "Directly? The meeting is supposed to be tomorrow, right?"
"Yes, but I guess, they have some work and tonight, there's a formal party. Inform them and find yourself a presentable dress," Rhodey hung up, making her sigh. "Is anything the issue?" T'Challa asked.
"I am supposed to escort you to the UN Headquarters and there is a formal party tonight," (Y/N) said, also letting the drivers of the other two cars know of the change in the plan.
Even before (Y/N) could process, it was already the time for the formal UN party. The entire day had been a whirlwind for her; tackling both the royals of Wakanda and her always bickering brother was a tough work.
She stood in front of the full mirror in her penthouse, looking at her reflection. The purple dress with plunging neckline with thin straps fitted her in the perfect places, bringing out the best in her. The dress was accompanied by her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail; and a light makeup with no jewelry except the pearl earrings which once belonged to her mother.
"Are you ready?" Tony yelled from the living room, making (Y/N) smile as she grabbed her purse and walked out of her room. "Yes, Tones," she smiled as Tony looked her up and down. A smirk broke on his face, "So, the royalty is actually hot." (Y/N) rolled her eyes, walking to the entrance. "Shut up and let's go."
After a short drive of not more than 15 minutes, the Stark siblings were entering the hotel which held the party. The room was beautifully decorated in a subtle and formal way. The room buzzed of conversations and laughter.
While Tony left (Y/N) to go and speak to someone, it was T'Challa who approached her. "A beautiful lady such as yourself shouldn't be standing here, alone," he said, making her turn around with a smile. "My brother just went off to speak to some... I don't know," she replied with a nervous chuckle.
A silence fell between them as they side-glanced each other from time to time. To them, it felt like playing a game of hide and seek; trying to hide something (Y/N) was trying not to name.
The orchestral music filled the room as (Y/N) watched a few representatives join the dance floor. She wished that the man beside her ask her for a dance as well, but the chances to that were a few.
"Perhaps, a dance?" T'Challa asked, extending his hand and bowing a bit, smiling at the younger Stark. "I am not a good dancer, Your Majesty," (Y/N) said shyly as she placed her hand in his.
"Just follow the lead, Ms. Stark," he whispered into her ear as he led her to the dance floor. (Y/N)'s breath hitched as she bit into her lip. "(Y/N) would suffice, Your Majesty," she said, following his lead and let him move her as he wished. "T'Challa it is, (Y/N)."
(Y/N) felt like she would burn in the fire of his touch and words. Something strong bubbling in her chest for him, stronger feelings than she had for Steve or any of her previous ones.
Perhaps, it was something new. Something permanent.

The Avengers Initiative | Early 2010s [Marvel Phase 1 Fanfic]
Summary: Putting a team together isn’t always easy, but it’s always good to have a few helping hands. But the real question is, will this actually come?
Pairing: Jason UnderWood & Darcy Lewis, Rick Banner x Luna Marsh
Established relationship uncle and nephew: Tony Stark and Jason Underwood
Characters mentioned: Phil Coulson, Pepper Potts, Melissa Wallace, Rei Stark, Rochelle Romanoff and etc.
—//—
It was a pair of months back to backs. Fury saw something shift in the air, he felt like time was running and the future needed heroes. Young and old. Ones to learn from one another and grow together as a team.
Nick felt a threat was coming soon.
But he also knew his so called heroes wouldn’t come falling out of the sky or so he thought?
He opened a cabinet and pulled out a stack of signed paperwork. One file said it all.
The Avengers Initiative.
The man held a small smirk behind his eyes. Danvers was already in space, and he knew she had a daughter. Michelle Danvers. She will be coming soon for sure. So that was off the hook, but he needed more players.
Rogers. Stark. Banner. Romanoff. Thor. Barton. His so called main players.
But it didn’t stop there. He needed the younger links there as well.
Any extra players he can get.
He had Agent Coulson and Agent May gather another list of people that SHIELD kept tags on. Theses teens and young adults came from different backgrounds and plenty of fields. But he knew they would be fit to rise up when needed.
Coulson had scouted the fields across the country, finding a pair of unlikely characters. A couple. Instead of distributing them, he slides the file underneath their door and walked out. He waited outside the apartment across the street at a cafe, with agents secretly surrounding the area for the pair to arrive home.
Rick Davidson. Last name Banner. He opened the door with his shy girlfriend Luna Marsh. They just did their small job downtown, finished getting groceries for the weekend and entered their home.
Luna was playing with her hair, removing her jacket but kept her sweater on due to the weather being a little chilly. She was chatting with her boyfriend. Suddenly her eyes narrowed downwards to the floor, seeing a file and raised an eyebrow.
SHIELD.
She gently flipped it open very slowly and being rather confused.
“Uh, Rick?” She asked looking up at him, placing the file on the table.
“Yeah, lovey?” He replied, looking over his shoulder almost done, putting the stuff away.
“What’s this? I feel like I heard of it..”
“Huh?”
Luna looked over the logo, feeling like she heard of it. Remembering her mother, who was Jersey getting her life together for them, telling her that SHIELD was a strong place. A protective order of people, if you were found, it meant luck.
Rick turned around to face Luna in confusion, before looking at the familiar sight of the file. SHIELD headquarters paperwork was in his hands. His father Bruce Banner, who was working across the world, told him about it.
He looked up at his girlfriend, telling her everything he knew about it. She nodded listening to him.
There was a chance for something new..
~~~~
Fury already sent Romanoff to keep an eye on the older Banner, meanwhile she was also keeping focus on her own daughter. Rochelle Romanoff, who was adopted by The Feltons. Along with her cousin, Liane Felton. She always knew something would go down soon.
A fallout for The Felton family.
Liane Felton didn’t have a true care in world, however she knew she was different. A mutant. She knew about an organization built for people like her. The women deep down a broken soul who needed a true perspective in life. A purpose.
Same things goes for Rochelle Romanoff, she was the black sheep of the family and she knew, but a part of secretly felt that there was a guardian angel looking after her. Secretly it was her own biological mother.
Knowing one day she will break out and make a stand.
And that day just so happens to be the day her family was destroyed. Sitting in the rumble of the house with shock and tears threatening to show, she found a folder with information beside her.
SHIELD.
She opened it gasping, seeing locked information of who she truly was. And she was right, she did a guardian angel. There was hope.
She just needed to wait now…
~~~~~
Up in Stark Tower, days past. It felt like weeks since the party. But luckily they were home.
The view of Stark Tower was shining. The flooring was designed perfectly. But most of all, it was quiet.
Tony was building shipments for he can start creating new toys with his kid. Pepper was shopping downtown in the glitzy stores a few blocks away.
Jason sat in the living room with his grandnephew, Rei, watching a movie and eating popcorn. However the boy was more paying attention to the toolset in his hands. He was always in his little world.
The young teen was smart for his age, hell he had a freaking suit he started wearing to fly around in practice for gods sake!
Like father, like son. History repeats itself very well in that department. It made him proud honestly, but it also scared the shit out of him, Pepper and Winter. Two Starks flying around. Wow.
Rei snapped him out of his thoughts without looking up from the spot on the couch.
“Pops! Hello?! Your laptop is making noise again. Answer it!” Yelled Rei, rolling his eyes and glances at the movie.
“Huh? Yeah, thanks kiddo!” He replies, rushing over to his laptop that sat across from the couch.
The second Jason opened up his emails as he he raised an eyebrow. SHIELD. Don’t they know he’s trying to stay retired?! Hell, he was supposed to meet Darcy this weekend.
He stop to read the folder. It said The Avengers Initiative. He heard Tony mention it. Hell, Rei mentioned it plenty of times!
This time Nick Fury wants to push it further into their minds. He didn’t mind it too much, thinking it was actually a good thing. A band of heroes young and old to keep the future alive.
But what made him almost choke on his drink was the list.
It read from Stark to to Felton to Bishop and beyond!
His eyes did a double take reading the line. Steve Rogers—Captain FREAKING America—on the list?! Mother-trucker was alive?!
Hell there were rumors that even his best friend, Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes is alive?!
Oh god, Coulson is going to have a field day about this…
“What is it?” Rei asked, looking over his shoulder, “No that a care too much but still.”
“Nothing. Just work.” Jason repiled, keeping himself relaxed about.
“Bullshit!”
“I told you not to say that word.”
“But you use it and so does my mom, so I can use it. What’s the plan?”
He knew the could would figure it out eventually, so he flipped the laptop over to him. Rei’s eyes doubled in size and blinked at the words in front of him, you couldn’t tell if he was in shock or kinda excited. He’s wanted by SHIELD.
“So. Does Dad know that he’s being officially recruited?” Said the teen.
“Nope, but he will find out soon I bet.” He replied with a sigh.
“Finally something i know before he does. Oh I’m gonna love seeing this surprise him..”
“Oh brother..”
~~~~~
The Lehnsherr siblings had it clear in their face. Meira was already off in her own world, working for SHIELD with her friends Melissa, Mia and Ji-Hoon. But Ethan and Cole were a whole different story.
Each found out there own way. Cole after a accident happened in front of his face thinking he screwed up huge.
Meanwhile, Ethan was at a cafe on the upper east coast when he landed in his face.
As if both brother could’ve been more right in that moment. Since the first words that came out of their mouths afterwards were..
“Shit.”
“Shit.”
They were in for a wildcard of a ride.
But little did this knew this ride would lead to them working side by side, along with a group of future friends…
~~~~
When the trio found out, it was an unusual idea. Leo was out of his wheelchair taking class to help with his back with Thiego teaching him. Stella was frustrated watching her brothers, which was new to her, handle the whole situation smoother than she was.
It was crazy founding out that there was 3 of them?! But it was a honest joyful sigh of tears and soft smiles. It a magic number!
Leo was handing the rest and classes a bit better than she was. But can blame her? She felt bad about herself, a little jealous of them.
However Thiego encouraged his big brother and baby sister, even going as far to teach them magic to heal, with Wong’s help.
So it they felt the love all around.
One day after the classes and conversation, a stack of paperwork came in. All 3 siblings looked at one another confused, having a small short discussion about it after finding out what it was.
SHIELD.
They were in sight of something bigger than they expected…
~~~~
It list was long. So many of them found out different ways.
The young group consisted of Rei, Rick, Rochelle, Luna, Cole, Liane and Ethan.
The older group consisted of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner and Clint Barton. The Strange Siblings included.
~~~~
Once everything was settled into place. They all came one by one. Most importantly the younger generation of future avengers arrived.
It was a long winded conversation full of shouts, confusion, glances and some laughter. A lot of them knew of or met each other on various occasions.
The organization took the decision to make it a different path. Having rented out a small hotel for all of them with separate rooms, places to shop, food to eat and most importantly to get to know one another.
The Young Avengers stood outside their rooms looking at the agents that were placed in front of them. All wearing causal outfits, but their IDs in their pockets.
Meira Lehnsherr, Amelia Parker, Melissa Wallace and Cho Ji-Hoon. There were other agents downstairs as well, but they seemed like they were the main four.
Mia cleared her throat awkwardly, “Hello everyone! Uh, um I’m Amelia and we’ll like to welcome you to um..ah shit i thought i had this rehearsed...”
Some of the Young Avengers chuckled and snorted at her fumbling over her words.
Meira chuckled, “What she meant to say, is that welcome to The Sandbox, people! Here you will have everything you need from beds to TV to food.”
“Exactly! We want all of you to be comfortable and get to know one another. I bet it will be rather fun.” Melissa added, going on to explain everything in full.
Ji-Hoon spoke up, “What she said! We will help you with everything you need here and so much more.”
Cole, Rick and Luna shared a small smile. Ethan leaned against the wall with his arms across and raising his hand, “Um, where would you guys be staying? And where the hell are the adults?”
Liane smiled and lightly scoffed, “We are all sorta adults here!”
Rick added, “You know what he meant. But where will you guys be staying?”
Melissa gladly answered, “Some of us are cross the hall from you guys and downstairs are the other half. As for the adults, they’re nearby so don’t worry.”
Ethan nodded and Rick shrugged, both finding it alright. Rei just shrugged as well. Rochelle smiled, walking over to Luna to start off a little conversation. The others either went to their rooms or started talking with one another.
It was hilarious really. Teens and young adults all stuck in a motel together, you can only imagine what happened that night!
Some found themselves sneaking into one another’s rooms to hang out and sleep. Meanwhile others bumped into each other in the hallway, getting lunch or dinner, some climbed to the roof to see the stars and it felt oddly enjoyable.
What happened next? You may wonder, that’s up for them to figure out.

Re-watching and re-evaluating "M:I - Dead Reckoning (Part One)"
A long, long time ago, somewhere in the Internet ether, I had promised to review this movie. well here it is if anyone still cares
Still think the introductory scene in the submarine was a bit long, but it didn't feel as long as it did the first time when I was foaming at the mouth to see Tom and only Tom for the first time in a new movie in the theater
Definitely a lot of exposition in the first Cary Elwes/Kittridge/etc. scene, but the information was necessary for the most part. Just very funky and unnatural how they divided the dialogue amongst everyone and they were finishing each other's sentences, like people Do Not talk like that
Also did anyone else think it was weird how long it was until the intro credits montage too? Idk maybe that's my personal artistic choice talking. Either way it was a super neat montage and I loved it, regardless of when it occurred; I was just afraid the first time I saw it that we weren't going to get one 👀👀👀
The whole end-of-days AI thing is definitely way too relevant and 1) stresses me out v badly, but also 2) Tom Cruise gives me hope that maybe we will eventually defeat it, even if it's not by he himself punching it to death 🤞🏻💖
Best comprehensive soundtrack of the franchise; the only one that has actually stuck out in my mind and I can remember at all and has stirred up genuine emotion in me
The Rome car chase safely occupies the spot as the best one I've ever seen, and you can tell the difference with how they used real sets and props vs. just wall-to-wall greenscreen 😖 I also love how the hijinks with like, the handcuffs and the seat-switching feel like smth out of an older spy comedy movie?? Vintage vibes ✨🤌🏻
If Tom Cruise could just casually stand with me protectively like that for a while and shield me from the w o r l d I think it might fix me 🥺🥲
The way Grace drives is a glimpse into what it feels like for me every time I get on the road
I love the yellow Fiat and I want it gimme gimme
Pom Klementieff's character is definitely too over the top for me. absolutely feral. someone tranquilize her pls. give her a nap. but hey, I'm glad she's having fun 🩷
Rebecca Ferguson was so underused and felt weirdly distant and separated even when she was present in this movie- def my biggest disappointment >:(
When I say I absolutely hated the big retcon about how agents are drafted into the IMF like MY PUPPY-DOG EYED NERD BENJI AND ETHAN "LOVES HIS FRIENDS" HUNT WERE NOT CRIMINALS IT DOESN'T MAKE A LICK OF SENSE FOR THEIR CHARACTERS BOY HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND CAUSE I'LL HELP YOU FIND IT 😤😤😤
Didn't think I was going to like Hayley Atwell at all before seeing the movie bc I tend not to like the way female action movie characters are written and I am a simp for Ilsa if you couldn't tell, but I ended up really enjoying her
Gabriel showed a lot of promise as a cool villain in the beginning when he was all mysterious, but ultimately there wasn't anything memorable about him for me. Only one who's earned that reward to date in M:I is Philip Seymour Hoffman, but maybe if/when we learn more about his backstory/motivation; hope is still alive for now
They've got Grace dressed like a fkin pirate there in Venice. And Pom is giving absolute "Black Parade" realness
ILSA MY SWEET LITTLE BABY SHE DIED ALL ALONE AND THEY DON'T EVEN SHOW ANYONE CRYING OVER HER DEATH EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS SUCH A SO-CALLED CLOSE FRIEND AND ALLY AND *DEF MORE* TO ETHAN AND IT'S JUST SO FUCKING WEIRD AND WRONG I ALMOST WISH THEY'D JUST QUIETLY WRITTEN HER OUT AFTER FALLOUT
Like kill her off if Rebecca wants to engage in other projects but give the character a proper send-off if you must. But fr, I agree with everyone's critique that she was such a welcome departure and sign of progress from the completely-interchangeable-female-action-character-who's-only-there-to-provide-new-and-different-eye-candy-every-time, and then right after she's really established and gelled with everyone they kill her off and switch her out in the team with another brunette female IN THE VERY NEXT SCENE BEFORE HER BODY IS EVEN COLD IN THE GRAVE
Yes. I understand that it's an action movie and, within the high-stakes confines of the plot, time for mourning is limited. Yes I understand that the other characters have witnessed many other deaths before. But the fact is that her character was special and different, to the characters and to us, and the filmmakers could have done it better. Ok, main gripe of the movie over 😔
Not sure if it's a plot hole or I just don't understand technology, but couldn't the Entity have messed with the computer in Benji's car when he puts it in self-drive while trying to help Ethan board the train...? 🤨🤨
Yep the Train Scene was just as brilliant and utterly harrowing as I remembered; most stressful viewing experience of me life 🥲😭
And, as much of a stretch as it was, I am a sucker indeed still for the part where Pom saves their lives 🥺 and now I kinda hope she lives and sticks around and has a badass, dare I say heroic moment or two in the future
Overall, despite my number of gripes, it still goes down as my favorite movie in the franchise overall 💖 the perfect proportions of comedy and drama, so many iconic and likable characters, and plenty of the unparalleled action sequences we've come to expect but even better than any we've seen before, and I am chomping at the bit for Part Two to eventually, someday, please please please come out thank you and see you at the movies 👋🏻✨

Maybe realized even if he intend not to leek with others, he may worry for tinker tom and glory and try hard to save them (but never admit he put himself in danger for their lifesake)
And maybe a though for old Whisper (Silver/Nora take the nickname of Whisper then when deacon give her the Deliverer, it's seem to mean much)
Hope to have exprim adequately, I'm continue to trying improv my english

Deacon had to admit, he was good at knowing things. His gut never seemed to fail him — he knew when someone was lying, he knew when things were about to turn south, he could just sense it somewhere deep inside of him.
But, that day, that horrid, dreaded day, he didn’t have a clue. And that made it all the worse.
The Switchboard had fallen straight into the hands of dozens… no, hundreds of gen-ones from the Institute. How they’d learned their location, nobody had a clue. But all that was on Deacon’s mind now was to just freaking survive.
The synths were pouring in from every entrance, pinning Deacon and the rest of the railroad in the center of the building. They’d flipped some tables to make some sort of shield against the laser guns, but it didn’t do much when they were shooting from every angle.
They’d already lost agents. Everyone in the tunnels would’ve had to have been dead in order for the synths to get that far. Beatrice, Ms. Boom, Francis, Maven, Roger, Kelly, Mr. Mathers and Nicholas — they were all on patrol in the tunnels that day, and the Institute had forced past them.
Deacon tried to shove the thoughts of them away as synths poured into the main room of the building. Desdemona was crouching next to him, behind the same metal table. It wasn’t but a few moments ago she’d tasked Tommy Whispers and Tinker Tom with wiping the terminal systems of the Railroad’s sensitive information. They’d taken off up the stairs like men on a mission, but Deacon wasn’t sure how far they’d get.
He kept his body as close to the table as he could while shooting, albeit pretty blindly, at the synths past it. Desdemona was still barking out orders he wasn’t paying any attention to. Deacon glanced around, spying Glory and Drummer Boy behind a table adjacent to theirs. A few more agents — Raven, Jonas, Penelope — were holed up behind furniture, but for the most part, the only company they had were bodies. So many bodies. The room was full of them. There had to be three times as many Railroad bodies as there were synth bodies, and the synths seemed to be an endless army. One synth went down, three showed up in its place, like an ancient Greek monster. Deacon was starting to think, maybe he was afraid of monsters.
“-Deacon!”
He whipped around toward Desdemona, who was staring at him with wide eyes. His panicked heartbeat was thudding in his ears and his adrenaline was through the roof. “Go support Tinker Tom and Whispers, now! We can hold them off here!”
He knew better than to question her. But, glancing around the room at the handful of terrified agents left, he wasn’t so sure if they could actually hold them off or not.
Without replying, he took down a few more synths. They were just metal, and wiring, and they took at least five bullets each to actually kill. And he was already running low. She wants him to what, now? He couldn’t focus.
“Deacon, go!”
He kicked himself into gear and sucked in a deep breath, sprinting from behind one cover to another. Blue lasers followed him the whole way, burning small holes in the concrete floor and leaving little puffs of smoke in their wake.
His mind was swimming, not only with the terrifying circumstances, but all the anxious thoughts that were clawing themselves up his throat. How many were dead? Would he even survive? God, this was the end of the Railroad, wasn’t it?
He scanned the synths. There weren’t any paying close attention to the stairs, but that would change as soon as he made a move for them. How was he supposed to get up a staircase without getting shot? Zigzag? Book it? Creep and hope they don’t notice? Every idea sounded bad. Probably because they were.
Pick your poison, he guessed.
Running would be fine.
There were currently six synths in the room — two on Des, two on Glory and Drummer boy, and two on the others. None on him, not anymore. The staircase on the right was darker, so he chose that one. And after a mental count of three, he sprinted.
Lasers started spraying past him as soon as he moved. He stuck close to the wall and darted up the stairs as fast as he could. But it wasn’t fast enough. A familiar searing pain shot through his left shoulder right as he made it to the top of the stairs, the power from the laser radiating through his entire body like he was being electrocuted. Everything went numb, and his legs gave out, sending him straight into the floor. His ears were ringing and his entire body was practically vibrating. He could’ve swore someone shouted his name but, then again, he couldn’t really hear.
But the lasers were still spraying. He didn’t have time to be hurt.
So he pulled himself up, numbly, and crawled through the doorway without his gun. Where was his gun? He looked back behind him and saw his pistol laying on the second step to the top. Lasers were still flying up the stairs and burning the wall behind. There was absolutely no way for him to get it back.
He stayed ducked below the windows as he closed the doors on either side of the room, barricading them with whatever he could, which wasn’t much. His shoulder felt like someone had ripped his entire arm right off, but he couldn’t act like it. He had to continue on like he wasn’t hurt, because if he slowed down, it would be harder for him to speed up again.
The sad barricade definitely wouldn’t keep the synths out if they decided to chase him, but he was out of furniture. He tried not to pay attention to the bodies that lay in the room with him, but quickly failed when one caught his eye. It was Nadine, a courier. And she had a shotgun on her.
Deacon’s head spun slightly as he pulled the sling from around her unresponsive corpse, searching her clothing for shells. He found, maybe ten, shoving them in his own pockets. She was staring up at him with a blank face and dead eyes. A blank face and dead eyes that had once been bright and full of life, sauntering into HQ with stories to tell. And now she was dead.
He suddenly felt nauseous, and he had to force whatever bile was rushing up his throat back down as he loaded the shells into the shotgun with horribly shaky hands. Every time he moved a single finger on his left hand, a terrible pain shot through his entire arm. Something inside of his shoulder was screwed.
After fumbling with the shells for a few seconds too long, and shoving his nausea away until it faded, he advanced through the double doors and into the quaint little hallways of the Switchboard. There were halls everywhere, several different directions for synths to come from. It was empty, for now, but he was at the mercy of whatever decided to pop out of the other hallways. And that made him anxious.
Get it together, Deacon, He told himself. He stepped quietly down the hallway, shotgun raised and finger hot on the trigger. There were sounds coming from the end of the hall — where he needed to go — but nothing close to him. But that didn’t mean there weren’t synths close to him. His heartbeat grew increasingly loud in his head as he inched forward, eyes bouncing from one direction to the next and repeating.
He took a left, coming across a few synth bodies. The noises got louder. He could roughly make out voices — Tom and Whispers. He sped up slightly, turning to the left and-
BAM!
Oh God, he was a goner.
Wait, no… he was the one who pulled the trigger.
The head of the synth in front of him flew off backwards, and the entire rusty machine clattered on the floor like a rag doll. He glanced down at the shotgun, cocking it again despite the pain in his left arm. Thank God his body was moving faster than his head. He forced himself to move forward, toward the double doors that led into the terminal room. They were open, and he hardly had two seconds before a pair of synths came running out when he got near, shooting wildly. He cringed as he pulled the trigger twice, recoil absolutely beating him up as he sent buckshot flying into their direction. Mercifully, both of them fell on the immediate.
He hated shotguns.
He stepped over the downed machines, peering into the room. The desks and terminals were all in place, displayed neatly around the room. Only a couple in front of him were glowing. He wasn’t paying attention to that, though — he was looking for Tom and Tommy Whispers’ bodies. He crept forward, biting at the inside of his cheek as the fear of seeing their lifeless forms sprawled across the floor ripped through him like a tidal wave. But the floor was devoid of the dead besides the synths he’d just shot.
Great, so where were they?
He carefully inched out of the room, cocking the shotgun again. His left arm was in so much pain that it was going numb. He’d have to assess the damage later — laser was always a little worse, a nasty burn and a gaping hole, but that or the blood turning his entire left sleeve red wasn’t his focus. Was he even focused? He couldn’t focus enough to decide.
Suddenly, a slam of metal on metal made him flinch. It was loud. It had echoed from down the hallway, toward where the bank vault was. Immediately after the bang, a dozen, if not more laser shots rang out in the air.
What was he doing again? Oh yeah, finding Tom and Tommy. Everything inside him told him to flee, but instead, his feet pushed forward, toward the doorway of the safe room. The door was standing wide open. It had gone silent apart from quiet mechanical whirring and infrequent synthetic voices coming from inside.
He pressed himself against the wall beside the door with a sharp breath. What good was he for Tom and Whispers if he couldn’t get in and help them?
The synths heard him.
And they all came barreling through the doorway he was standing right beside. Like clockwork, one, two, three, in just a matter of seconds, one with a shock baton and two with guns. Deacon’s brain went fuzzy as he blindly pulled the shotgun’s trigger thrice, not even moving from his position — dropping one synth and after a moment, a second. The synth with the baton was still standing, and it was swinging at him.
He panicked, throwing himself across the hallway like some kind of terrified cat. The synth missed the swing aimed at his head, and he cocked the shotgun, bringing it up and pulling the trigger, not just once, but for all five of his remaining rounds. The robot fell back against the wall and slid down into a heap on the floor, whirring fading into silence.
That’s what made him nervous — the silence. Tinker Tom was never silent.
He quietly stepped into the safe room, glancing around warily. There were a few synth bodies, but everything else seemed in place. Well, everything but the safe door, which was pulled shut, but the bright green words on the terminal showed it was unlocked. He stepped closer and — what was that noise? Was it coming from inside the safe?
He stepped forward again, cocking his empty shotgun… for what? Intimidation? Habit? He didn’t know. What he did know was that, through the safe door, he heard someone crying.
“Tom? Whispers?” His voice came out sort of hoarse, but it was enough to grab the inhabitants attention.
“…Deacon?” Tinker Tom’s voice came from inside.
“Yeah, it’s me,” He replied. He stepped back and grabbed the lip of the door, pulling it open and glancing in.
The first thing he took in were the shelves that seemed to be intact and still holding their important items. The second thing he took in, though, was Tinker Tom, on his knees, blood absolutely covering his clothes and drenching his hands like he’d dipped them in a bucket of crimson paint. Tom was staring up at him with wide eyes, tears streaming down his face faster than the Niagara Falls. And the third thing Deacon saw—
Oh God… oh God…
Deacon dropped his shotgun.
Tommy Whispers lay in front of Tom, red pooling beneath him in a puddle. He’d gone eerily still, eyes staring up at the ceiling. He wasn’t blinking, wasn’t grimacing, wasn’t breathing.
Wasn’t… wasn’t breathing.
Deacon, although he felt like he was going to scream, vomit, faint, and fall over all at once, stayed completely glued to his spot. He got so dizzy and nauseous he was sure he was swaying. Tommy Whispers was dead? He couldn’t be dead. Deacon had known Tommy Whispers for as long as he’d been in the Railroad, he couldn’t possibly be dead. But the sight in front of him told a different story.
“I’m-I’m-I’m sorry, I-I really tried to save h-him, I really t-tried… really tried to save him…” Tom’s words came out more as a desperate stutter than anything else, hardly able to push a full word out. He looked back down at the body, blood-soaked hands hovering above the corpse searching for something to do, someway to help.
Deacon swallowed down bile for the second time, blinking back burning behind his sunglasses as he mentally kicked himself back into gear. He was afraid he would puke if he opened his mouth to speak, so he just leaned down, gently grabbing onto Tom’s wrists. God, he was so bloody.
Tom’s eyes stayed fixed on the body as Deacon tried his best to keep his eyes fixed on him. Was Tom hurt? Was he bleeding? A quick once over told Deacon no, but he wasn’t exactly in peak examination mode right then. He guided Tom out of the floor by his wrists.
“I’m-I’m-I’m sorry,” He repeated, clearly in a worse state of mind than Deacon expected. He led him numbly away from the safe, pushing the heavy door closed the best he could with his leg. He released Tom’s wrists, but he just kept mumbling: “I’m sorry, Deacon, I’m so sorry, I’m-“
Tom was standing- no, Tom was grabbing him. He had the front of Deacon’s white t-shirt balled in his bloody hands, blubbering like a child, not making an effort to conceal or wipe away the tears that were all over his face. Deacon flinched when Tom jerked him forward and… what was he doing? Wait, he was hugging him.
Wait, he was hugging him?
Tom had latched his arms tight around Deacon’s neck. God, he was covered in blood, and now Deacon was covered in blood. Tommy Whisper’s blood.
He could feel Tom trembling, or was that him? Actually, they were both trembling, he thought. Tommy Whispers was dead and they were covered in the blood. Tom had a death grip around Deacon’s neck and was weeping like a widow at a wake. What was going on? Why was he asking himself that? He knew what was going on. Deacon’s head was spinning, and he was glad Tom’s grip was so tight or he might’ve fallen over on the spot.
He found himself blinking back tears again. It wasn’t often he willingly thought about his past, but Tom, the first Railroad Agent he ever met was a crying, bloody mess. The same way Deacon was a crying, bloody mess when Tom first met him. And just like Tom was the first Railroad Agent Deacon saw, would he also be the last? Deacon forced himself not to think about it and, instead, brought his arms up to gently peel Tom away.
“We need to go,” He whispered. Why was he whispering? Was it because Tom was a mess, or was it because he was afraid he’d break if he spoke any louder than that?
Deacon and Tom gathered whatever remnants they had left of their bearings, starting toward the door in a dazed, weaponless frenzy. As soon as they crossed the threshold into the hallway, he slammed into someone, and glancing up, he caught Desdemona’s eye. She looked horrified. Walking behind her was Carrington, supporting a half-dead Drummer Boy against his side, and Glory was behind them with her minigun.
“Deacon- we’re leaving,” Desdemona ordered simply. The group didn’t even stop walking, and Deacon and Tom cut in right behind Des. They were heading toward the front entrance, through the old Slocum’s Joe. That probably wasn’t the best idea, but he didn’t have any will inside of him to mention it.
“What-what about the others?” Tom questioned. Des sucked in a breath from in front of them.
“There aren’t any others, Tom,”
Deacon would’ve froze if his legs hadn’t already been moving by themselves. That was it?
They were it?
Of course, they had agents across the Commonwealth, but the bulk were in HQ. And the bulk were dead. And Deacon was suddenly reminded that he was covered in Tommy Whispers’ blood.
With those few thoughts bouncing around in his head, the small group made it up and out of the Slocum’s Joe. There wasn’t much resistance. Or… maybe there was. He didn’t remember. The whole thing was fuzzy and he didn’t really know what was happening until they stepped out into the harsh commonwealth sunlight, and there were, finally, no more synths. It was just them and the sunlight.
The group walked only a little ways away before they stopped in a lightly wooded area. Carrington sat Drummer Boy down on the grass to tend to him the best he could. Tinker Tom was still crying, and slid down against the bark of an old tree to continue. Glory patrolled like her life depended on it, never batting an eye at her comrades. Desdemona propped herself against a tree across from Tom. Everyone was silent apart from Drummer Boy’s groans and Tom’s repetitive hiccups.
Deacon glanced down at his shirt as his mind cleared, and the weight came crashing back on. The HQ was gone, Tommy Whispers was dead, along with ninety percent of everyone he knew, and he was covered in blood that wasn’t his own.
He was sure he made some kind of sound when all the realization crashed back onto him, because Des and Glory looked at him weird. He hadn’t heard it.
He needed to get out of there.
He turned on his heel and walked. Disappeared deeper into the wooded area, far from his comrades so they couldn’t hear or see him anymore. He was shaking now, like an earthquake, and one last glance at the blood on his shirt made him — finally — get payed a second visit by everything he’d eaten recently. What was he supposed to do?
Barbara was gone, and now the Railroad, too.

Pacing around inside my own head mulling over angst material. Tecnoroid has percolated long enough that I’m starting to craft dark timelines when I’m bored.
Ok spoiler warning, and trigger warnings (tagged), gonna jam my increasingly unfortunate thoughts under the cut.
Wondering what the scenario and fallout would look like if Esora was actually shot at the second foundry encounter. On reflection and fic’ing it, it seems more and more clear to me that the objective probably was to get the poor kid caught in the crossfire to make KNoCC look bad for endangering him, and make Bora a scapegoat for more anti-synth sympathies. Managing to shoot any of KNoCC would just be gravy for WG, or at least a Plan B.
See, I rewatched Overmind recently and realized that I misremembered this scene when writing about it for “Smoke Alarm.” But what I misremembered was just me filling in the intent of Esora’s actions. Previously we see that androids are physically incapable of harming humans, they have an “interlock” mechanism that causes their joints to lock up when they would exert a harmful amount of force or take harmful action towards a human. Esora tries to use this to his advantage in the foundry scene by shielding Cobalt (despite being much smaller but I digress)
Esora’s goal was to trigger Bora’s interlock by getting in the way, so he couldn’t fire on anyone. Now, the especially tragic thing here was that someone was pulling the strings all along, and if Cobalt hadn’t re-shielded Esora, the poor kid would almost certainly have been shot when the WG agent behind the scenes decided to override Bora’s motor functions. I’m sure that whoever was behind it (who I must mention was already willing to murder an innocent factory worker to set this mess in motion) would be fine with forcing an android to shoot a child.
I like Technoroid, it really buries how fucked up its world is.
So of course being the wretched creature I am, I thrive on angst - writing, pondering, and consuming it - and I am left to wonder about that whole scene going wrong. How would KNoCC react? (Would they be able to flee? Would they panic and struggle to leave the scene?) What would Nobel do? (Still interfere obviously, but how? Probably try to get KNoCC and Esora clear of the scene, but would he still grab Bora on the way?) What would happen to Bora? (If Nobel leaves him behind, what does the hearing look like on the police side? Do they just shut him down?)
...Would Esora survive?
And obviously the answer to all of these is “well whatever you want you horrid word-sorceress, go write it, you fiend!” and I know and I probably will (got stuff I want to write during/after I finish “A Second Nature”) but I simply can’t decide! I’m torn between the impulse to make it as depressing as possible - more of a “for sake of argument” dark timeline - and leaving a ray of hope and not immediately killing the kid.
Anyway, I‘m horrible. Sorry-not-sorry for making you read that if you got all the way to the end. Next major Technoroid piece after "A Second Nature” is probably smut anyway so yaay~ =P

Application Techniques for Enhance Lash-Boosting Eye Serum Mascara's Advantages
Introduction:
Lash-boosting eye serum mascaras are a trendy beauty invention that blends mascara's volumizing and lengthening properties with the nourishing advantages of eyelash serums. These products are intended to encourage long-term lash health and development while instantly improving the look of lashes. It's essential to use these items appropriately and adhere to particular practices that optimize their efficiency if you want the greatest results.
Lash-Boosting Eye Serum Mascara's Advantages
Lash-boosting mascaras provide a number of advantages:
Enhancement Instant: Gives definition, length, and volume right now.
Long-Term Growth: Packed with nutrients and growth-promoting agents.
Lash conditioning: lessens breakage and loss by strengthening and moisturizing lashes.
Strengthens and Protects: Peptides and biotin are two ingredients that help to strengthen the lash structure and shield it from the elements.
Reduced Lash Fall: Using regularly helps lessen lash fallout when taking off makeup and going about everyday business.
Natural Look: Brings out your lashes' inherent beauty without the need for fake or extension lashes.
Modification: A lot of lash-booster mascaras are available in a variety of formulations and tints, so you may tweak the appearance to your taste.
Two-in-One Solution: Combines the benefits of mascara and lash serum in a single product, saving you time and effort in your daily regimen.
Travel-Friendly: It's perfect for travelling because it eliminates the need to carry several items.
Expert Application Advice and Techniques
1. Make your lashes clean first: Make sure your lashes are clean of all prior makeup and oils. Cleanse your face completely, paying special attention to the region around your eyes, to get rid of any debris that can prevent the mascara from sticking and the serum from sinking in. 2. Apply lash curlers: Before applying any product, use an eyelash curler to lift and curl your lashes. This technique makes your eyes appear larger and amplifies the effect of the mascara, giving you a more dramatic appearance.
3. Apply the serum first (if using a different serum) If your lash-boosting treatment involves a separate lash serum, use that first. As directed by the manufacturer, apply the serum, usually at the base of your top lashes. Make sure it dries completely before applying mascara. 4. Appropriate Methods for Applying Mascaras
Eliminate Extra Product: Wipe off extra mascara from the brush before applying it. This guarantees a more uniform application and eliminates clumping.
Wiggle and Sweep: Wiggle the mascara wand back and forth while brushing it upward, beginning at the base of your lashes. This method aids in uniformly coating every lash from root to tip.
Layering for Volume: To add greater volume, use many levels. Allow each coat to air dry slightly before applying the next one. This leads to a volume rise without clustering.
Highlight Outer Lashes: Apply an extra coat of mascara to the outer lashes to give the illusion of wings and enlarge your eyes.
5. Make use of a hair comb
After using mascara, separate your lashes and get rid of any clumps with a clean lash comb. Your lashes will appear more defined and natural after taking this step.
6. Use Care When Removing
It's essential to remove lashes properly to preserve their health. Use a mild, oil-free makeup remover to remove the mascara without dragging or pulling on your lashes. To maintain the nourishment of your lashes, use a serum or conditioner afterward.
Expert Advice for Better Outcomes
Select the Appropriate Formula: Choose a lash-boosting mascara based on your individual requirements, such as more length, volume, or development of your lashes. Seek for components with nourishing qualities, such as biotin, panthenol, and peptides. The Secret Is Reliability: Applying your lash-boosting mascara on a regular basis will yield the optimum effects. Include it in your regular makeup regimen to get the short- and long-term advantages.
Healthy Lash Habits: • Steer clear of waterproof mascaras since they might be harder to take off and cause lash damage.
• Refrain from rubbing your eyes as this may hasten the loss of eyelashes. • After using a mild eye makeup remover, use a nourishing lash oil or serum.
Monitor the health of your lashes: Take note of the look and health of your lashes. If you have irritation or significant lash loss, check with a dermatologist or cosmetic specialist.
Selecting the Best Eye Serum Mascara for Boosting Lash Growth
It's important to take into account a number of important criteria when choosing an eye serum mascara that can lengthen your lashes in addition to improving their look. This is what you ought to search for: Ingredients: Active Ingredients: Seek for mascaras with components that are well-known for thickening lashes. Peptides, biotin, keratin, and panthenol are examples of components that are frequently advantageous. These ingredients support and strengthen lashes, encouraging growth and lowering breakage.
Conditioning Agents: Natural oils (such castor and Argan oil) and hyaluronic acid are examples of ingredients that may moisturize and condition lashes, keeping them from being dry and brittle. Avoid Irritants: Avoid products with strong chemicals or allergies, especially for delicate eyes. An excellent place to start might be products free of sulphates, parabens, and artificial perfumes.
Reputation of Brands
Brand Research: Choose items from recognized companies that are known for producing high-quality, effective formulas. Well-known brands frequently follow strict testing and quality assurance procedures.
Look for Testing in Dermatology: Choose mascaras that have been approved by ophthalmologists and are suitable for delicate eyes to avoid causing irritability or unfavorable responses.
Brand Transparency: Seek out companies that offer comprehensive details on the source of their ingredients and the effectiveness of their products.
Reviews by Users
Examine Reviews: Check user reviews and ratings to determine the mascara's real-world performance. Take note of reviews that particularly discuss changes in health and lash development. Find before-and-after pictures: A lot of people want to share their experiences when there is tangible evidence of the improvements. These might provide a more concrete idea of what to anticipate. Examine Reviewer Profiles: Reviews from people whose lash kinds or issues are comparable to yours might offer more insightful information.
Conclusion
To get the most out of lash-boosting eye serum mascaras, you need to learn how to apply them properly in addition to choosing the correct product. Follow these professional recommendations to rapidly improve the look of your lashes while also boosting their long-term health and growth. The finest results are achieved with consistency and moderate care, which will keep your lashes luscious, voluminous, and exquisitely defined.

Agents of SHIELD
So, I've had trouble discerning what about AGENTS of Shield put me off it... the whole "agency collapsed and needs to be rebuilt... oh look! it's back! JK it's collapsed again!" thing got really stale, but I felt off about it in the first season before all that stuff started.
And now, during a Marvel rewatch, I think I've finally found it.
Admittedly, I don't consume a lot of spy-related media, but all the media I have consumed make it pretty clear that, sometimes, spies need to burn assets... even if it leaves them high and dry, stuck dealing with whatever horrible fallout awaits them. And, ultimately, there's a danger of getting too close to the asset--of humanizing them--only to have to turn around and burn them later.
I mean, it says something that a show like Chuck dealt with that aspect (a spy cultivating an asset then having to burn them) while AGENTS of Shield never really did.
We see agents cross off characters who they wanted to save (e.g., Donnie Gill), but we don't really see missions where agents assume an identity to gain access to something. Simmons goes an undercover bit with Hydra and at one point slips incriminating evidence into a lab partner's desk drawer to frame him... but the guy in question is a Hydra stooge who thinks killing millions of people would be "cool" - basically, throwing a bad guy to the wolves, which isn't the same as throwing a decent or medium person (or a good person) to the wolves. In fact, the only time I can recall this happening was when we find out Bobbi burned Agent 33 by giving up her safehous. But by that point, Agent 33 was strongly framed as an antagonist, even though she was a SHiELD agent before all that happend.
We also don't really get any plotlines involving criminals being drafted into SHIELD to work off their crimes, either. Skye was caught hacking into SHIELD, but she wasn't leveraged into working with SHIELD (meaning, Coulson offered her a bunk, but he didn't tell her it was that or jail).
The closet we get to these aspects of spy media all seem to be wrapped up and tied in to one character: Grant Ward. He's the only one we actually see perform deep undercover work (Bobbi, Hunter, and Simmons only have a handful of episodes undercover at Hydra, and all of those undercover missions were woefully short-lived in comparison).
Based on the later episodes (specifically, The Framework episodes), it's very clear that Grant Ward was an amoral, loyal, slightly damaged protector type who wound up in Hydra because of his loyalty to Garreat, who happened to be Hydra. Had Coulson, Fury, or even Hand been the one to recruit Ward instead of Garreat, Ward would've been a diehard SHIELD loyalist for sure. It was very clear at the end of season 1 that he wasn't a Hydra loyalist all. In Season 3, he's looking for vengenance and uses Hydra to acheive it.
The rest of the "spy conflicts" at things like May reporting on Coulson's health to Fury (and the ensuing drama/fallout of her lyng to him), which are incredibly low stakes.
So what bothers me about it? Most Spy media deals with gray areas... people who aren't upstanding citizens at all but who are also good/decent people. But SHIELD? It tried to do spy media with firm good/evil lines, and that's why it bugged me.
How is it that CHUCK handled this more skillfully than AGENTS of Shield? So did Burn Notice...

SHIELD
SHIELD is made up of 4 divisions- Internal Division, Field Division, Inhuman Division, and Science Division.
Internal Division
Internal Division is essentially the behind the scenes division, as well as the lead division. The Director is part of Internal Division, all other divisions report up to the different sections of it, and it gives the orders to the other divisions. Of course, not all Internal Division groups give orders, but as a whole, that is its job.
Commanders
They’re the main section of Internal Division, with the Director directly leading them. They create plans and give orders to the other divisions (especially Field Division and Inhuman Division) from SHIELD Headquarters, the Helicarrier, or one of SHIELD's other facilities. The Director and Deputy Director fall into this category.
Intelligence Officers
They’re what makes up most of Internal Division. Their job is primarily to find information on targets, prisoners, possible recruits, and really anything they need. They have lots of computer programmers and hackers, as well as interrogation specialists. They also deal with some of the fallout from superhero fights. Field and Inhuman Agents on reconnaissance missions report directly to them.
Field Division
Field Division is the main division of SHIELD and what most people think of when they think of what SHIELD is. The majority of non-powered agents are in this division, though there are Mutant agents in this division as well. Field Division takes care of most off site and tactical issues, such as arrests, reconnaissance, and general missions.
General Field Agents
These are the agents that take care of most of what Field Division does. They often take care of smaller crimes, as well as helping out with smaller aspects of superhero fights, such as evacuation, cleanup, and taking out henchmen, so that the heroes can deal with the main portion of it. They also are typically the ones tasked with recon missions. These agents are grouped in squads made up of about 7 squad members and 1 squad leader.
Assassins
Like the name implies, these are the agents that are sent out specifically to kill targets. They’re often sent alone, so there aren’t any squads in this group. Sometimes an assassin will be temporarily assigned to accompany General Field Agents on one of their missions if their target is connected to that mission. Assassins are some of SHIELD’s best fighters, as well as being fantastic stealth operatives and spies when they need to be.
Arrest Agents
Again, like the name implies, these agents are sent out to capture targets and bring them into SHIELD custody. These agents often have incredibly fast reflexes and speed to be able to chase down and capture anyone who might try to run away. They’re also very good at moving around quietly and some double as spies when needed.
Inhuman Division
Inhuman Division is very similar to Field Division, except everyone has powers. There aren’t any groups in this division, they pretty much do whatever Internal Division tells them to do. They tend to take care of power related crimes, especially if Inhumans are involved, as well as helping superhero teams a lot of the time. They are also tasked with finding newly awakened Inhumans and help them learn how to use their powers to them and see if they want to be recruited. Similar to Field Division, Inhuman Division agents are put in squads of 8.
Science Division
Science Division doesn’t have official groups per se, but sometimes there are teams made for specific projects. Science Division consists of many different agents in different areas of science/engineering. They do a lot of work making technological advancements for SHIELD, as well as making the necessary chemicals for certain things, experiments on stuff that was brought back from missions, etc.
Chemistry
Astrophysics
Chemical Engineering
Forensic Science
Biology/Zoology
Engineering
Bioengineering
Etc.
Dress Code
Internal: Business Casual or SHIELD Uniform
Field/Inhuman: SHIELD Uniform or Superhero Costumes (for powered agents)
Science: Casual or SHIELD Uniform, often paired with a lab coat
Other
Anyone with at least 2 years of field experience can be a squad leader, so the youngest are 15, though that's rare. Most squad leaders have more than 2 years of experience though. 2 years may be the minimum, but you still have to be extremely qualified, like Steve Coulson, who got his command at 16.
Powered Agents can have costumes and hero names. Usually only the Inhuman Division and some mutant members of the Field Division actually do this though. If Internal/Science division agents take advantage of this rule, usually they just do it if they need a costume that helps focus or control their powers, or if they have powers that require them to go into the field for emergencies. If that's the case, they're more likely to also have superhero names, but they usually just go with the costume.
Especially with the younger generations, it's getting pretty rare for SHIELD agents NOT to have some sort of power. Because their primary recruitment demographic is young powered people, that makes up most of the organization at this point.
The Field and Inhuman Divisions work together a lot.
