do you have any info about your huminazation of the druanee? im very curious about that post and i keep coming back to it and trying to pick apart it’s design to try to see what you were going for. this design and the concept of “human” dredge in general is so very fascinating, i'd like to hear everything you have about it if your willing to share!!
Hi! Thanks for the ask :) Tbh I made it as more of a not-serious AU idea- I like the Dredge as being what it is in canon, not human, some kind of creacher. But I thought a humanised design would just be fun to make! I don't really have any specific info I don't think, it was just something for fun, kind of a match to the human things I draw for Blight too haha. I appreciate your interest though! <3
I'm trying to think of any ideas I didn't write on that ref sheet... I figure it floats instead of needing to walk, the cloak kind of mimics its fog? And it can still like summon those extra limbs out of its back (the ones that grab survs etc).
I also designed it to be partly Indian- well, an amalgamation of many people isn't really one ethnicity, it probably has multiple cultures inside it. But I used Indian elements in some of the design parts because of Haddie, and having the two of them related in that way is interesting to me. The sash around its waist is specifically that, I researched some Indian design colours and Hinduism themes, looked at some art specifically of Kali. The design is supposed to have angel wings in it, since the Druanee is sort of an "angel" of death, if that makes sense? The blue is associated with deities afaik. Sorry if any of these words aren't proper haha, but I hope any of this makes sense.

oooh i know you briefly mentioned this a few days ago (i think? time is fake and also soupy) but i would really like to hear about the whole Julia and Leon dynamic going on in the julia survives raven's roost au!!!
Okay, so in the inception of the idea of Julia and Leon being friends, I, at first, wanted to make a character sheet for Julia, so the dice can help me tell the story a little bit like they would in a real dnd campaign, and it got me thinking about what class I should make her. And I figured I could just make her a fighter because that's probably what her class would most likely be considering her background of a craftsman's daughter and helping with a revolution. Magnus probably taught her how to use weapons if she didn't know already. But I was like, I don't want her to be basically Magnus 2.0 and just being a fighter alone didn't really seem the way to go, and I thought she might be more interested in crafting, so the obvious solution was artificing. I don't think she would have learned artificing at Raven's Roost though because Steven wasn't an artificer, and I don't think she would have felt the need to learn anything about magic in the past. But I got really hooked on the artificer idea, so I figured I could have her multiclass, and to do that, she would have to train under someone (Leon), but that would need an inciting incident. Also, she would need a 13 in intelligence to multiclass, and I gave her basically Magnus' starting stats except I switched the Charisma and Intelligence scores, so that it would only take two times of getting more stat points to get rid of her negative in Wisdom and get her up to the 13 in Intelligence which so happens to happen at 6th level for Fighters. Lining up perfectly with Petals to the Metal. And what happens in Petals to the Metal? They meet Sloane and Hurley and learn Sloane is a good person who just got taken over by the sash to the point where (presumably) they both died as a result of that fiasco. Perfect jumping off point to get her interested in learning more about how artifacts are made, and, well, I'll put what I have written for that scene under the cut :)
(Also background info, I kept the concept that only the people who made the Relics would be able to actually resist them, so Julia is also somewhat looking for a way to keep herself better resistant to them in any way that she can without staying like, a hundred feet away from them and clenching Magnus' hand when they collect them. Also also, I'm having fun imagining the scene directly after they come back from Wonderland because I want Leon to be there for her too as part of the welcoming party, and I don't have a solid vision yet of what that's going to look like, but basically I'm going to make them best friends :) )
The Reclaimers' last mission left Julia more shaken than she was when she, Magnus, and the other boys first encountered the Phoenix Fire Gauntlet. It's been a little over a week since they recovered the Gaia Sash, and in that time, she did a lot of reflecting on the events that transpired. The way the Sash completely took Sloane over and the sheer, hopeless power it had when it did was terrifying. There was no way they were going to win that fight without Hurley sacrificing herself in doing... whatever she did. It's still not clear to Julia what had happened when Hurley rushed in, but it still left her dying in Sloane's arms all the same. It's too much, Julia can't let that happen again. She refuses.
But what if when they go to collect the other Relics, they will also be actively being wielded by other people? And Taako, who up until now was able to resist the thrall they had, even he almost put on the Gaia Sash. What if that happens again? What if they all succumb to the next one? Or the one after that? Or the last one they have to collect? What then?
Julia needs answers. She needs to know how the Relics work, and maybe in knowing that, she'll be able to figure out a way to work around them. It hasn't happened yet with the people who have already been studying them, but maybe a fresh set of eyes will do the trick?
Unfortunately, because of the nature of the history of the Relics, there isn't much information on them that she doesn't already know, so that's a dead end. But they're magic items, and they had to be crafted as such like any other magic item, right? And she does know an artificer she can turn to for help. The only question is whether her little group has annoyed him enough that he will be too reluctant to help her out.
It's early afternoon when Julia decides to make the trip. Magnus and the other boys are off somewhere, Julia didn't pay particular attention to where Magnus said they were going, so she's got a fairly large window of time to herself before they come back for a group dinner. As she reaches the door to Leon's workshop, she pauses with her hand on the door handle and takes a deep breath. Here goes nothing. She opens the door and steps through, and Leon looks up from his desk. As soon as he sees her, his expression turns sour.
“Gods, why? It's been a week! You can't have gone on another mission already! Where's your husband? Where's your friends?” Leon stands up from his chair and rounds the corner of his desk to meet her.
Julia winces and puts her hands up placatingly. “It's just me this time, Leon. Um, I don't have any more gashapon tokens. I actually came here to talk to you.”
Leon eyes her suspiciously with his arms crossed. “It's not to antagonize me, is it?”
Julia laughs nervously. “Uh, no. I um... I was actually wondering–” She takes a deep breath. “– I was wondering if you could teach me about artificing?”
Leon looks taken aback. “You want me to– okay. What uh– what exactly is it that you want to know? Artificing is a very broad subject, so you're going to have to be more specific.”
Julia taps her pointer fingers together nervously. “Well, I suppose I– I want to know how magic items work. Like, how are they made and what properties are they supposed to have. And I guess from there, how they could be made to be more powerful and corrupted.”
Leon looks at her sympathetically and uncrosses his arms. “You want to know how something like the Grand Relics could have been made?”
Julia nods. “I... I want to know how we can fight them smarter,” she says quietly. “The last mission... It was hard, and I'm afraid it's only going to get harder, and I need to know how we can avoid more casualties.”
Leon sighs before walking to the other side of the room. He pulls out a chair by the wall and carries it to the front of his desk before gesturing for her to sit and taking a seat himself behind the desk. Julia sits down and bounces her leg up and down nervously. Leon clasps his hands together and set them on the table. “The way making magic items works– well, there are two ways. There's the less permanent way where you can infuse mundane objects with magic to give them a magical property or the ability to cast a spell, and that can easily be changed or taken away again. The other way, the way the Relics and a lot of the items you'll find in the Gashapon Machine or at Fantasy Costco are made, ispermanent. To make something like that, you would need to gather specific materials capable of resonating more deeply with the magic you want to bake into it to make the items from scratch, and it's in the process of making the items that you would imbue magic into it.”
Julia furrows an eyebrow and slips the Alchemist's Ring from her middle finger. “You mean like this Alchemist's Ring had magic imbued in it as the ring itself was being made?”
Leon nods. “Exactly. And the more powerful the item is, the more care in picking the right materials and making it needs to go into it or else it could go horribly wrong. Because of the amount of magic items there are in the world, even though most of them are comparatively weak, people tend to think artificing is an easy area to get into, but artificing can be dangerous, and if it's not done to an exact science, at best, the thing you're making won't work, at worst, it could hurt or even kill the people who made it or use it.”
Julia's mouth goes dry as she slips the ring back on her finger and rests her hands on the table. “Do you think that's what happened to the Relics? The Red Robes tried to make things that were way to powerful without being careful enough, and now they're world ending weapons that take over their wielder?”
Leon's face goes a bit grim. “As much as I would love to think that the Relics were an accident, I don't think I can fully get behind that theory. The– The Relics...” He shakes his head. “Maybe I'm biased because all I've seen them do is destroy, but the Relics' powers seem like they were made with purpose without caring for the collateral damage they would cause. I can see the gauntlet being an accident if all they wanted to do was make a somewhat standard weapon, but the others we've collected so far– the Oculus with the power to create anything and the Gaia Sash with the power to control all of nature– their powers are so broad over the domains they were created for, it could only have been done with the purpose of giving them that much power. Power for power's sake, if you will. And the fact that they not only have that much power, but they actively seek to overtake the will of anyone who comes near them, that can only be done with a precise science behind that. And if this is how they are as a product of precision, I'd shudder to think of what would have happened if they were made incorrectly.”
Julia shivers at the grave tone Leon adopted for his last sentence. She can't imagine what could be worse than the Relics as they are now. “I just can't fathom why someone would make things like that on purpose. I get experimenting around and trying new things, but if they made them specifically to be used by whoever comes across them... it just doesn't make sense, Leon.”
Leon pats her hand and gives her a small smile. “I don't think it's supposed to make sense to people like us. If it did, we probably wouldn't be here trying to do our part to save the world.”
Julia sighs. “I suppose you're right.” She bites her lip and jiggles her leg again. “There's got to be a better way of trying to combat them when me and the boys go to collect them though at least, right? The Director said they're all made for different specific schools of magic, so is there a way to create something that might dampen it a little or do anything to help us if we have to fight someone who's under its thrall again?”
Leon tilts his head in thought for a second. “I'm not too sure of something that could be made to dampen the effects of the Relic's power directly, but...” He pauses to think some more. “To take over someone's will, that falls under enchantment magic, so all of them must have that baked into them as well. I don't think I can make something quite strong enough to cancel out the thrall completely, the Relics are just too powerful, but since you and the boys are already somewhat resistant to their power for what ever reason, I think I might be able to make something that can dampen enchantment magic in general. That should make it easier to collect them without you all losing your heads.”
Julia smiles with relief. If something like that is possible to make and he can make multiple of them, that could give her room to breathe and the others fuller immunity. That would be a dream come true for her. “Thank you, Leon!”
He tilts his in a slight nod and smiles. Then he frowns. “Oh, shoot. I forgot that we can't give each other magic items.”
Julia's heart sinks. “I'm sure the Director won't mind if it's for something like this, right?”
“I suppose.” Leon looks contemplative again. Then his eyes brighten, and he snaps. “Right! I can't give you magic items, but if you were to create it with my help– that is, if you want to learn artificing?”
Julia perks up at that. “Uh, yes? That would be amazing!”
“Great! I can start you off with learning the basics, just making simple stuff, and we can work our way up to that big project. I should have an extra pair of some kind of artisan's tools somewhere.” Leon mutters the last part and starts going through his desk.
“Can you make magic items with wood? I'm good at carpentry, and I already have the tools for that on me.” Julia says.
Leon sits back up with a wide smile. “Yes! That's really good to hear. I can start you off on some wood projects and then go from there. We may have to graduate to smith's tools eventually to make the enchantment resistance item, but–”
Julia laughs. “Good news! I'm proficient in that as well! My dad was a general craftsman who specialized in carpentry, but he taught me how to craft with a few different mediums. I just don't know magic, and I didn't get to keep any smith's tools with me. I just know how to use them.”
“Well, I'm sure I can find you some new smith's tools in time. So–” He sticks out his hand across the desk. “–when do you want to start?”
Julia takes his hand and shakes it firmly. “I'm free right now until seven.”

secret
The library was usually your safe haven and you often found yourself locked up in its confines to concentrate on your assignments or get ahead on your reading for your classes. But exam week had made traffic in the aisles skyrocket. It's a good thing you had stopped by several days in advance to reserve a private study room. You had spent the entire afternoon there, drowning in a sea of review sheets and flashcards. By the time you walk out — having decided you've done enough studying to get through your exams for the following day — it's already dark outside, the only light source being the lamps lined along the paths in the courtyard. You cross the street towards the dorm buildings and make your way up the stairs of yours.
When you unlock the door to your room, you're shocked to see several more people inside aside from Sasha.
Your roommate is sprawled on her bed, laying on her stomach, her notes scattered around her, and Niccolo on his knees beside her, rubbing her shoulders. Armin is sitting at her desk, propping his head on his hand while seemingly quizzing her on a series of terms. Jean is sitting on the floor in between the beds, watching Sasha struggle to give Armin answers and Eren is laying comfortably on your bed, with his back against the headboard and scrolling through his phone while making bubbles with the wad of gum he's chewing. They all turn to look at you the moment you walk in, wearing sweats and a denim jacket, your hair tousled by the wind. Eren smirks at you when you meet his gaze. Jean throws a grin your way and you reciprocate with a smile.
"Oh, thank goodness, I thought you were someone else." Sasha breathes a sigh of relief. Although you lived in a co-ed building and there was constant sneaking around between floors, you still had to take your precautions when bringing someone over to your room.
"What's going on here?" you ask to no one in particular as you shut the door behind you and lock it.
"Just helping Sasha study for Italian," Armin responds before yawning.
"All of you?" You quirk an eyebrow teasingly.
"Well, it was only supposed to be Niccolo and Armin, but the rest of us didn't really have anything better to do, so we thought we could tag along." Eren gets up and saunters over to you. "Hope you don't mind." He tilts his head and presses his hand against the wall, leaning down to spit his gum in the trashcan beside you, before straightening up and giving you a wink. You rip your gaze from him and clear your throat, walking over to leave your bag at your desk.
"What about you? Where were you?" Jean questions from his position on the floor.
"Library," you respond shortly with a smile and he raises an eyebrow.
"Studious girl," he praises and you giggle.
"I guess you could say that." You shrug your jacket off and reach into your closet. "I'm gonna take a shower real quick, okay, Sash?" The brunette just nods and waves her hand to dismiss you, refusing to take her attention off her notes. You collect your toiletry bag and everything you need to change in the shower room, in case the guys are still in your room by the time you come back before you head out the door. As you turn to the left at the end of the hall, with the entrance to the showers just a few feet away, you see Eren stepping out of your room from the corner of your eye and you turn around completely, secretly praying you didn't drop your underwear or something embarrassing on your way out. He approaches you with that boyish lopsided smile and almost by instinct, you mimic his expression.
"Need something?" You lift an eyebrow as you study him.
"No, just on my way out. Wanted to say goodbye." You let out an airy chuckle.
"How sweet of you. I thought you were about to corner me for shower sex," you say and almost instantly heat up, regretting the words. Eren laughs.
"Well, if you're up for it..." He shrugs while looking over to the side, putting up his nonchalant act.
"No." You give him a punch in the arm.
"Hey, you're the one that brought it up!" he reminds you.
You both laugh until you hear a set of voices coming up in the opposite hall. You recognize one of them to belong to Hange, your RA. Even though you were close with them and everyone on your floor trusted them with handling discreet matters, you did not want to find yourself in a sticky situation if whoever they were with saw you with Eren on an all-girls floor late at night. With no time to think, you shove Eren into the shower room and lock both of you in one of the stalls.
Please don't let them come in here.
A few seconds pass and you exhale, assuming you're safe for now. You realize you're pressed against Eren's chest despite the stall being big enough for the both of you to stand comfortably, and you back away. Eren's eyes shimmer in amusement as he bites his lip, suppressing a laugh.
"You just can't keep your hands off me, can you?" he taunts.
"Shut up, Eren," you whisper loudly at him and slowly open the stall door, poking your head out to check if nobody else is in the showers.
Coast clear.
You proceed to place the hanger with your clothes and towel on the hook outside the door and your toiletry bag on the showerhead before turning to look at Eren with an exasperated expression. He tilts his head at you in feigned confusion.
"Get out! I have to shower, you creep," you laugh and playfully roll your eyes when he pulls you in by the waist and lifts your chin with one finger so you look at him.
"A kiss for the road?" he murmurs softly. And although the action seems a bit more intimate than what you're supposed to have with him, you oblige because why wouldn't you. He's adorable and always asks the right questions. What you intended to be a simple peck escalates rapidly in yet another make-out session, his lips already adjusted to your regular pace, the signature lip bite that's soon followed by his tongue and the urgency behind his hands grasping your face as if you were to run away at any moment. You weren't complaining, though. If anything, it felt kind of exciting to do this after almost getting caught in the hallway.
Eren breaks apart just long enough to strip you of your shirt and throws it over the stall door as you get rid of your jeans, copying his actions to set the garment aside. Your shared telepathy had you both on the same page.
He closes the distance between you once more and starts leaving kisses along your jaw. He brings his hands behind your back and expertly undoes your bra with a single tug, then grazes his fingers over your shoulders, pulling down the straps, and throws it with the rest of your clothing. You shudder as you watch him slowly lower himself down without breaking eye contact and, when he's in line with your underwear, he subtly raises an eyebrow. You don't give him a verbal answer, but instead just tug lightly at his hair towards you. His lips curve into a smile before freeing you of your panties. He swipes his tongue along your slit and you throw your head back against the tiled wall and sigh. Same as he did that first time, he coats his fingers with your slick before pushing them inside you, curling and rubbing at the right spots, all while paying special attention to your clit with his tongue, swirling and sucking, eliciting soft moans on your behalf until you come undone under his touch. He sucks his fingers dry as he gets up.
"Take your shirt off," you manage to say in between ragged breaths. Eren obeys. He quickly reconnects with your mouth and sucks on your tongue, allowing you to savor the lingering flavor of your secretions, while his hands wander over your bare breasts and cup them, rubbing his thumbs over your perked nipples.
"Are hickeys okay?" he asks and you mumble an affirmation.
Eren pushes you back into the wall, the cold tiles against your skin making you shiver, and glides his tongue down your neck and towards your shoulder, stopping at your collarbone to suck at the sensitive skin vigorously. You feel him smirk against your chest when he hears you whimper over his shoulder and he proceeds to lean back a bit to allow himself to leave a few more marks on your breasts. One hickey... then two... three... you give up on keeping count and settle for enjoying the painful but satisfying sensation. He takes your left nipple in between his teeth and gives it a gentle bite before swirling his tongue around the hardened bud and giving it a hard suck, making a pop sound as he releases it. You look down and see a painful looking tent forming under his jeans and reach out to palm at his erection through the fabric, causing him to groan.
"Do you have a condom?" you breathe out. Eren pulls back and smirks.
"Of course I do," he says and slips his hand into his back pocket, but his confidence is diminished when he realizes there's nothing there. He fumbles looking for the familiar foil packet in every pocket, but keeps coming back empty-handed. "Crap, I was sure I brought one with me. I'm sorry, we can do something else... Unless you want to stop." He looks at you apologetically and you bite your lip before voicing the alternative you have in mind.
"Or you could just... you know... pull out," you struggle to get the last couple of words out, well aware of the heat taking over your face and you raise your gaze to the showerhead, too embarrassed to see Eren's reaction. When you take a peek at him though, he's shaking his head at you, unable to hide a delighted grin.
"Are you sure?" he asks and you nod.
"I mean, we're both clean, right? And, I'm on the pill so we could just... but, you know, I'm not really into that yet," you tell him and his grin grows impossibly wider.
"Ah, so you went on the pill for me," he teases and you give him a push.
"For cramps, you idiot." He laughs.
"Okay, okay... I'll give you anything you want." His husky voice and compliance make you squirm and rub your legs together. He removes his jeans and boxer briefs, stuffing his necklace in one of the pockets and adding them to the growing pile of clothes on top of the door before toeing his shoes off and kicking them through the space under the door. Keeping your hands around his neck, you both focus on each other's eyes as he presses your back against the wall again and slowly moves his hands along your sides until he reaches your ass, giving it a subtle squeeze. Your eyes widen when he extends a hand to the shower valve and turns it on, water coming down on both of you. Before you get a chance to protest, he gives you a kiss and mumbles something in your ear.
"Just in case anyone walks by."
You nod and he goes on to stroke himself a few times while the water warms up. He then turns back to you and raises his brows. You nod and he pushes his dick inside you, checking in on your reaction to see if anything makes you uncomfortable. "Fuck, you feel even better this way," he groans and lifts your thighs so you can wrap your legs around his waist, pushing deeper into you until he bottoms out. He brings a hand up to get your damp hair out of your face and waits for you to give him the greenlight.
"You can move now," you tell him after a few seconds and he gives you a peck on the cheek before starting up his movements. He jostles your body against the wet tiles with each thrust, watching as you close your eyes and moan his name, arching your back when he would hit your sweet spot just right, streams of water trickling down your form. The sight of you open-mouthed with your hair sticking to your skin, due to both sweat and the running shower has him in a daze.
"You're so fucking sexy," he says breathlessly and you open your eyes to see his dark gaze sparkle with passion. He keeps his movements constant before just grinding his hips into you, releasing a couple of grunts here and there as you whimper over the delicious contact with your g spot.
"Eren, I'm gonna-" you stutter with your words but he hushes you and holds out his hand to stimulate your clit.
"I know, beautiful." His voice is strained, but he's determined to not let himself go before you've ridden out your orgasm first. You throw your head on his shoulder and dig your nails into the back of his neck as you drown in pleasure, your eyesight hazy.
"Sorry," you're barely able to spit the word out as you slowly come down from your high.
"Shit... don't apologize, it feels good," he reassures you and grits his teeth when you scratch at his skin again, encouraged by his words. You moan his name into his ear one more time and that does it for him. His hips start bucking erratically towards you but not even a second later, he swiftly puts you down and pulls out of you, only to squeeze your face with one hand, shoving his tongue roughly into your mouth, and pumping his cock with the other, his cum shooting down to the floor and washing down the drain.
"Sorry." It's his turn to apologize as he softens his tight grip on your face and you shake your head to signal him you're okay. You both dedicate the next few minutes to even out your breathing. You've never had sex in a shower, but Eren certainly set a high bar for what it should be like. You turn off the water and look at him, a sudden shyness looming over your features.
"You should get out of here. I still need to shower and Sasha's probably wondering what's taking me so long," you smile at him while scratching your temple. He nods and starts getting dressed, disregarding the fact that his skin hasn't dried off yet. He walks out of the stall and you stick your head out to watch him leave. Just as he's about to go out into the hall, he turns around, almost as he felt the way you were burning holes into his sculpted back and mouths goodnight. You give him a small wave in return and hastily go through with washing yourself.
When you walk out of the showers in your pajamas and your dirty clothes rolled up into a ball under your arm along with your toiletry bag, you jump at the sight of Eren leaning against the opposite wall, right beside the restrooms.
"What are you still doing here?" you interrogate him, bewildered at how he's so at ease knowing he can get in trouble.
"I don't know, I just felt like waiting for you."
He shrugs and tugs lightly at your top to admire the very visible love bite on your collarbone. You hadn't looked in the mirror yet, given that you rushed your shower time to avoid having Sasha ask you why you were so late but, from the look on Eren's face, you just know you'd have to choose your outfits carefully for the next few days. "Nice, maybe I should give you hickeys more often."
You roll your eyes and open your mouth to reprimand him when you both become aware of the figure that's slowly rounding the corner, the tips of their ears red, having caught Eren's last sentence.
Jean.
He doesn't look at either of you directly but just stuffs his hands in the pocket of his hoodie and chews on his lip nervously.
Eren backs away from you and you immediately begin to panic, trying to come up with an excuse for his words. But all you can think about is that your beloved roommate can't find out about this. Not yet.
"Sasha doesn't-"
"Don't worry. I won't say anything." Jean finally looks at you. He looks hurt, his eyes are glassy and his nose twitches slightly before he clears his throat. He catches a small glimpse of your bruise and lowers his gaze again. He walks past you and goes into the restroom, not paying any recognition to Eren's presence.
When you get back to your room, everyone else is helping Sasha gather her things. Eren had left right after the incident with Jean, telling you everything was going to be fine. But it didn't feel fine. Not when Jean never returned from the restroom and Armin and Niccolo had left without him. You huff after throwing yourself on your bed. Something sticks out from the sheets, scratching the back of your neck and you flip over to see what it is. You're shocked as you lift the small foil packet with two fingers.
"Oh my-, did Eren leave that here? He's so gross." Sasha realizes what you have before you get the chance to hide it.
"Yeah," you say nervously and try to laugh it off. She shakes her head and contorts her face in disgust.
"Ugh, he just loves to brag about his sex life, doesn't he? I'm gonna turn the lights off now, 'kay?" you nod and get under the covers after throwing the forgotten condom on your bedside table.
You feel uneasy that night, wondering if Jean would actually keep his promise. It's not that you didn't trust him, but just the thought of someone besides Eren and you knowing about the intimacy you shared was enough to keep your mind in a constant flow of overthinking.
Somewhere along the way, though, you finally fall asleep.
Your constant dwelling was finally going to meet its end the following Sunday. Exams week was over and you had sent a text to Jean the night before, asking him to meet up at the local park at four if he wasn't too busy. You tried calling him first, but he wouldn't pick up, so when you received a straightforward k a few seconds after pressing send on your invite, you were thankful he wasn't just shutting you out, even if he was seeming a bit distant.
The days are getting colder and as you sit on a lonely bench, watching the leaves rustle by your booted feet, you curse at yourself for not picking a different location. Just as you're whipping your phone out to check the time, you see Jean crossing the street to meet you. He's wearing a tan long coat and his nose is peeking above his navy blue scarf, hands in his pockets to keep them warm. When he's finally close enough to you, he pulls down his scarf to give you a small smile, the tip of his nose and his cheeks tinged pink from the cold. You smile back at him.
"Hey," you both say, your voices overlapping one another and you both laugh awkwardly.
"Sit down," you tell him softly, patting the empty spot next to you and he complies. You chew on the inside of your cheek, struggling with how to bring the topic of the other night up, even though you know Jean knows that's why you called for him.
"Eren and I've be-" "Please don't da-" you both speak at the same time and break off your sentences to allow the other to speak. Jean reddens and looks down at his lap.
"You first," he says.
"Okay, um... Eren and I have sort of been... having this thing," you fumble with your words.
Ridiculous. Why is it so difficult to say? Eren and I are fuck buddies. Period.
"Dating?" he asks without lifting his hazel gaze.
"Not exactly," you say, rubbing the back of your neck, a nervous habit you picked up from Eren. Jean turns to look at you with a bewildered expression, but his features soon shift when your words finally dawn on him. "It's consensual, of course. Don't- don't assume the worst."
"Oh," he mutters and hunches over in his seat, resting his elbows on his thighs and clasping his hands together. "That's- that's um... good for you, I guess." He turns his head to the side so you can't see his face.
"Thanks," you say, but it comes out more in the form of a question.
This is too awkward.
"So... about Sasha, why won't you tell her?" He finally looks at you over his shoulder but you avert your gaze, opting to focus on the empty bench a few feet in front of you.
"I'm going to tell her about it, just not yet. I know it's stupid and it's better for me to get it over with, but I don't want to make things awkward between our friend group. Besides, I don't even know how long this will last. Everyone knows Eren gets around, I guess I just don't want anybody to judge me or take pity on me when we cut it off. I'm not a noob to this kind of thing either, but Eren has me beat."
"Well, for what it's worth, I don't think any of us would pity you as much as we would Eren. You're way too good for him."
You chuckle softly at his attempt to console you and he smiles at the sound.
"Do you like him?" Jean's question catches you off guard and you stutter trying to give an honest response.
"I- I mea- of course I like Eren, he's... really nice and funny a-"
"You know what I mean," he cuts you off. You sigh.
"I don't know. I don't know if I like him that way. Sure, he's very... attractive and we get along, but I have to keep my feelings in check. I'm pretty sure neither of us wants this to get any more complicated than it already is. This is just a way for both of us to relieve stress." You sit in silence until Jean speaks up.
"Well, promise me you'll tell me if he does anything stupid. I'll pummel his ass into the ground." He straightens up in his seat and gives you a warm smile.
"Will do," you laugh.
Jean walks you back to campus, nudging you playfully with his elbow every few minutes and you do the same between friendly smiles.
"What were you going to say first by the way?" You look at him with curiosity as you near your destination.
"Oh, uh... I forgot," he mumbles, and even though his broken sentence keeps gnawing at you and you know he definitely remembers, you don't push any further.
When you're finally in the parking lot of your dorm building, his mood shifts and he only offers a shadow of a smile when you bring your palm up to say goodbye. As you're about to take a step forward to the glass doors, Jean grabs hold of your wrist to stop you. You turn and look at him questioningly.
"Um... just- don't worry if you feel like I'm being distant for a while. I just-" He takes a deep breath and swallows his saliva, unsure of where to rest his gaze. "I need to process you and Eren doing... that."
He bites his lip and fixes his gaze on you. Your brow furrows for a second, and you feel a tad upset over what he's telling you.
"What I told you about kicking his ass still stands, though. Call for me and I'll be wherever you need me to... whenever."
You nod slowly, a spark running through your spine and a slight compression in your chest at his serious tone, and he lets go of your wrist, watching your figure as you enter the lobby and disappear up the stairs.

SHIELD
SHIELD is made up of 4 divisions- Internal Division, Field Division, Inhuman Division, and Science Division.
Internal Division
Internal Division is essentially the behind the scenes division, as well as the lead division. The Director is part of Internal Division, all other divisions report up to the different sections of it, and it gives the orders to the other divisions. Of course, not all Internal Division groups give orders, but as a whole, that is its job.
Commanders
They’re the main section of Internal Division, with the Director directly leading them. They create plans and give orders to the other divisions (especially Field Division and Inhuman Division) from SHIELD Headquarters, the Helicarrier, or one of SHIELD's other facilities. The Director and Deputy Director fall into this category.
Intelligence Officers
They’re what makes up most of Internal Division. Their job is primarily to find information on targets, prisoners, possible recruits, and really anything they need. They have lots of computer programmers and hackers, as well as interrogation specialists. They also deal with some of the fallout from superhero fights. Field and Inhuman Agents on reconnaissance missions report directly to them.
Field Division
Field Division is the main division of SHIELD and what most people think of when they think of what SHIELD is. The majority of non-powered agents are in this division, though there are Mutant agents in this division as well. Field Division takes care of most off site and tactical issues, such as arrests, reconnaissance, and general missions.
General Field Agents
These are the agents that take care of most of what Field Division does. They often take care of smaller crimes, as well as helping out with smaller aspects of superhero fights, such as evacuation, cleanup, and taking out henchmen, so that the heroes can deal with the main portion of it. They also are typically the ones tasked with recon missions. These agents are grouped in squads made up of about 7 squad members and 1 squad leader.
Assassins
Like the name implies, these are the agents that are sent out specifically to kill targets. They’re often sent alone, so there aren’t any squads in this group. Sometimes an assassin will be temporarily assigned to accompany General Field Agents on one of their missions if their target is connected to that mission. Assassins are some of SHIELD’s best fighters, as well as being fantastic stealth operatives and spies when they need to be.
Arrest Agents
Again, like the name implies, these agents are sent out to capture targets and bring them into SHIELD custody. These agents often have incredibly fast reflexes and speed to be able to chase down and capture anyone who might try to run away. They’re also very good at moving around quietly and some double as spies when needed.
Inhuman Division
Inhuman Division is very similar to Field Division, except everyone has powers. There aren’t any groups in this division, they pretty much do whatever Internal Division tells them to do. They tend to take care of power related crimes, especially if Inhumans are involved, as well as helping superhero teams a lot of the time. They are also tasked with finding newly awakened Inhumans and help them learn how to use their powers to them and see if they want to be recruited. Similar to Field Division, Inhuman Division agents are put in squads of 8.
Science Division
Science Division doesn’t have official groups per se, but sometimes there are teams made for specific projects. Science Division consists of many different agents in different areas of science/engineering. They do a lot of work making technological advancements for SHIELD, as well as making the necessary chemicals for certain things, experiments on stuff that was brought back from missions, etc.
Chemistry
Astrophysics
Chemical Engineering
Forensic Science
Biology/Zoology
Engineering
Bioengineering
Etc.
Dress Code
Internal: Business Casual or SHIELD Uniform
Field/Inhuman: SHIELD Uniform or Superhero Costumes (for powered agents)
Science: Casual or SHIELD Uniform, often paired with a lab coat
Other
Anyone with at least 2 years of field experience can be a squad leader, so the youngest are 15, though that's rare. Most squad leaders have more than 2 years of experience though. 2 years may be the minimum, but you still have to be extremely qualified, like Steve Coulson, who got his command at 16.
Powered Agents can have costumes and hero names. Usually only the Inhuman Division and some mutant members of the Field Division actually do this though. If Internal/Science division agents take advantage of this rule, usually they just do it if they need a costume that helps focus or control their powers, or if they have powers that require them to go into the field for emergencies. If that's the case, they're more likely to also have superhero names, but they usually just go with the costume.
Especially with the younger generations, it's getting pretty rare for SHIELD agents NOT to have some sort of power. Because their primary recruitment demographic is young powered people, that makes up most of the organization at this point.
The Field and Inhuman Divisions work together a lot.

Introduction
SASH is a school in New York created by SHIELD with help from the superheroes. The purpose of SASH is to train the next generation of superheroes and SHIELD Agents to be the best they can be. Students range in age from 13-22. They’re put in grades by their age at the start of school; 13 is grade 1, 14 is 2, 15 is 3, 16 is 4, 17 is 5, 18 is 6, 19 is 7, 20 is 8, and 21 is 9 (22 year olds are just like,, 21 year olds that aged lol). All students live in apartments on campus, unless they have permission to live off campus.

Backstory
I created SASH AU when i was 13 or 14, in 2017 or so. I’ve always been the kind of person to make up little characters (usually self inserts) for media I enjoy, so when I first started getting into the MCU, I did the same. I’ve always loved the idea of 2nd generation AUs, as well as superhero schools, so I decided to combine the two.
SASH is an acronym that originally meant “School for Aspiring Super Heroes”, until I realized that they were technically already superheroes. I then changed it from “Aspiring” to “Adolescent”, but since the characters (at least the ones that attend the school) range in age from 13-22, that technically didn’t work either (adolescents are basically anyone between 10 and 19). Currently, it means “SHIELD Agents and Super Heroes”, because those two things are what the student body is made up of.
SASH was originally supposed to be the MCU but like,, slightly different, like most AUs. However, it’s evolved so much in the years since I first made it that I’ve started to think of it as its own Marvel universe, like Earth-616 or Earth-199999 (I haven’t gotten around to thinking of a number for it). This world started with 43 characters, which consisted of 33 Superheroes and 10 SHIELD Agents- all children of canon MCU characters. Originally, these 43 were the only students at the school, until I realized that that made absolutely no sense. For one, why would they make a whole school for 43 people? And for another, why do only 10 SHIELD Agents go there? Why not more? So, as the years went on, I kept adding characters; other students, non-student significant others, family members, teachers, random SHIELD Agents, etc. until I had over 250 characters total.
I have different groups of characters. Most of what you’ll see is my “Main Cast”, which consists of the original 43, plus two I added later. Then there’s the “Side Characters”, who vary in importance, detail, etc. They’re mostly family members, other students, and significant others. Finally, there’s the next generation(s), which I refer to as “Kids” or “Next Gen”. These, like the name implies, are the next generations of heroes- the descendants of the current main cast. Their story takes place about 32 years after the main one. I also have a handful of background characters; random SHIELD agents, teachers, more students; basically the ones that don’t really have details other than a character design, a name, and an extremely basic profile (age, gender/sexuality/pronouns, powers if applicable, etc).
