I wonder what people think when they see the big 3 boys hanging out casually. You can’t convince me they don’t do fun little family outings every once in a while when things aren’t so end of the world-ish. I just love to imagine them going out to a mall or a park just to hang out, and they keep getting glances from strangers because they seem like such an unlikely group. You’ve got Nico, who’s never not dressed in multiple-layered black outfits with at least 4 accessories; Percy, the skater boy, who is wearing the most atrocious combination of neon orange and a shocking amount of different shades of blue; and Jason, the golden retriever jock, who’s wearing gym shorts in 20-degree weather. Imagine passing them and seeing this group with such clashing outside personas, but the whole time they’re talking, there isn’t a beat of silence; it’s all inside jokes and lighthearted but confusing bickering. Seriously, why did the jock and the skater just tell the smallest one he needed to get his own flying horse if he wanted to keep up??? The big 3 kids just getting to be actual cousins means everything to me.

no but the thing is, when the hero falls in love with the villain she is falling in love with the darkest parts of herself. she is owning her shadow and the owning makes her stronger. it is not about whether a ship is toxic or romanticising abuse because it’s not about two individuals. the struggle is not one between two people, just like the love is not between two people. when the hero falls in love with the villain she is loving herself. when she loves herself she is stronger, better, able to transform darkness instead of running from it. at the moment of loving, a person changes. the loved changes. and the love of the villain changes the hero. it’s all about this, don’t you see?

i think elphaba's decision to not tell glinda she's alive at the end of wicked is more than her prioritizing her own safety. the musical ends with her saying "i wish glinda could know" and fiyero saying "she can't know, not if we want to be safe." and while fiyero is probably talking abt him and elphaba, i think elphaba is also thinking abt glinda's safety

from elphaba's perspective, everyone she ever loved has been hurt because of her. her father blames her for nessa being unable to walk and her mother's death. nessa got killed because morrible wanted to lure elphaba out of hiding. fiyero stood by her and got basically beaten to death, and now has to live as a scarecrow

elphie blames herself for all of this, even though it's really the people around her. she's spent her whole life being the scapegoat for all of oz's problems, and we see in "no good deed" how she's internalized that

from elphaba's pov, glinda is the one person she loves whose life she hasn't completely ruined. during their last meeting at kiamo ko, elphaba tells glinda not to stand by her because she doesn't want glinda to get hurt, too. she's ridden with guilt and believes she's a danger to everyone around her, to the point where she thinks it's better that glinda thinks she's dead

elphaba genuinely wants glinda to know she's alive. but i think she also believes that if she told glinda, it would end up hurting her, and she doesn't want to do that to glinda

Speaking of Halloween costumes - I suddenly remembered I have a very unused piece of trivia about Mayu which is she used to be really into magical girl stuff as a kid, but is definitely too embarrassed to admit that around all the boys at NRC

But since she has no magic, I need to bring back one of my favourite images of all time:
