I'll never forget when Arcane was airing and Mel fans were pointing out the symbolism between her and Viktor, only for that side of the fandom to be so hateful towards her and her fans like it was bad. But now that their fave is gone and has nothing to do with the Noxus story like Mel does, that side of the fandom wants to talk about the symbolism all of a sudden but, here's the kicker, with only in regards to Viktor. all day every day all i fucking think about is how neil perry and todd anderson’s story in dead poets society are mirror opposites. todd starts off as a shy, nervous kid who doesn’t think his words have any value, doesn’t think anyone cares what he has to say. on the other hand, when we meet neil, he’s enthusiastic, outgoing, and seemingly passionate about life. he does everything he can to include and accommodate todd. but by the end, todd has finally come out of his shell. he has friends. he can speak in front of the class. hell, he can even directly disobey a teacher’s orders, standing up on his desk to honor his former teacher. meanwhile, neil killed himself and didn’t even leave a note, presumably because he felt like his words didn’t matter. like nothing he could say would change anything anyway. like nobody would care what he did or didn’t have to say.

river pheonix and ethan hawke.

so an au where neil perry is played by river pheonix! and alsoo the two couldve met as children instead of teens (which this movie only came out 4 years before dps so its not a huge time skip, so if u wanna go explicitly by the pics then theyd meet earlier than they did in dps but either way works imo)

this version also probably wouldve been js as queer coded w river, in my own private idaho he plays a character whos in love w his best friend (100% canonically!!) so no need to worry about losing anderperry

I need someone to explain to me why when I was finally able to actually sit down and start writing a hurt/comfort chrashley oneshot I'd been thinking about for a while by the end it wasn't with me desperate to play until dawn again, but tales of phantasia of all things.

Like I didn't even procrastinate and kill time! I wrote like a full page of angsty, solemn tunnel walking and stopped only cause I was tired and needed to go to bed. But the very instant I stopped writing all I could think of was how BADLY I needed to drown myself in phantasia content again 😭
