An upcoming Age verification bill centered in California will be voted on Monday-- And as always,instead of actually protecting kids, it will lead to more online censorship and privacy risks, as it will force websites hosting to verify their users age by sending their ID, your browser history would be linked to it. if you live California, call your reps and tell them to oppose the bill AB3080 as it highly unconstitutional.
They also deem LGBT content harmful to minors, as well as mentions of weapons and tobacco, putting them on the same level as NSFW content.
Since AO3 headquarters reside in California, much like Reddit, Twitter,Discord and Youtube (and others) who knows how bad the effects would be. Instead of just effecting Californians (even then its concerning.) the effects would be US or even worldwide. VPNs wont help.

I just read a fic where Leslie sided with Jason over killing criminals, and y'all, wtf.
Y'all need to remember that Leslie and Alfred are the ones that raised Bruce to value criminals' life and to not kill, they are proud that Bruce refuses to kill, they would be mad at their boy if he killed. They spend Bruce's whole childhood since his parents died working on making him less violent, they don't want that shit.
ALSO, Leslie will literally help ANYONE. She will saves the life of murderers and rapists. She is not happy when Bruce is too violent. She would not be like "Jason only kills murderers, why are you mad at him?!". She would be mad at Jason for killing people, but she would still heal him because that's what she believes in. She would not side with Jason over the thing he did in Under The Red Hood, nope. She would side with Bruce, even if she would not agree with his actions.
Bruce's surrogate parents would not side with Jason. They never did in the comics. In Under The Red Hood, Bruce has a moment when he implies that Jason is better than him and right, Alfred disagrees and helps Bruce back up. They do not agree with killing the Joker, they are proud of Bruce for not doing so, even tho he wanted to. They are proud to have raise a compassionate man who doesn't kill, they don't agree with killing criminals.

WAIIITT while i’m talking about this. it’s so fucking cool that the track named “NICHOLAS THE PUNISHER” incorporates both the music associated w the orphanage and the music associated w the experimentation done on him and kind of like. has those two different sounds working in harmony. yeah there are points where you can tell that the metal/electronic sound seems a little out of place, but for the most part they’re both there and working around each other.

Every hobie brown fic has him living in an apartment and like, no. my friends he is a homeless punk teen hiding from the cops in a capitalist hellscape. My boy is not paying rent, my boy is living in abandoned houses and warehouses- jumping between places as needed and crashing on friends of friends couches. How do I know? Bc I literally grew up living in punk squats/communes in the 90s/00s.
Just a pet peeve of mine.
#also surprisingly easy to live in a squat for literal years with water and electricity without getting raided#but most homeless punks I knew moved around a lot#the Most valuable items in those places are the art and the instruments#Very community based#very social#Lots of underground concerts and potlucks#they beat the shit out of the guy who assaulted me#even the ones who didn’t know me and were just in the area#very protective of children and kind under the spikes#im just tired of people portraying him as some antisocial dickhead who doesn’t knowhow to interact with people#and otherwise lives a normal life#Also#dumpster diving! I think the reason that I’m finding it harder to jive with the reading of “historia agreed to eren’s plan” atm is like… because she’s never narratively punished for it in the same way he is? eren dies, and we see the impact his actions have on him and how it affects his relationships with everyone else. but historia gets no mention at all, no-one knows she even knew about eren’s plan and she survives until the end!
But I don’t know like… how I’m supposed to read historia’s silence as anything but her actively enabling eren???? Is it just bad writing. why did my girl get sidelined so hard in the end. I’m so sad about this ALWAYS
#ooc#don’t get me wrong I enjoy anything that acknowledges historia’s selfish side#and in theory I do love the idea of her risking humanity in order to protect her future children; because she IS that selfish a person#but like. idk. i just get depressed nowadays that she doesn’t get to like. reflect the themes or message of aot at all in the end??#and seemingly acts contrary to them entirely. where most of the rest of the cast really reflects the idea of empathy; letting go of hatred;#understanding each other etc.#genuinely historia might’ve been one of my favourite characters of all time if she hadn’t been sidelined so bad in the end.#it genuinely upsets me when i think about it…#just gotta like. figure out an interpretation for historia that makes me happy.
