It’s bearly been two days since Yuuna has been revealed and I’ve already seen fanart and fan animations of her. I’m half convinced someone’s gonna make a cosplay of her by tomorrow.

To be fair, Yuuna’s clothes don’t look super complicated or difficult to recreate. You could easily find lookalike items by shopping around or even digging around in your closet. The makeup and hair will probably going to take some effort though 🤔 and probably the phone case + strap if someone wanted to get it down to the details.

It’s been really fascinating seeing the outpouring of excitement for Yuuna. The Twst fandom is usually very fast when it comes to putting out fan works (it’s not unusual to start seeing fanart literally minutes after the monthly schedule drops), so that’s nothing new. What’s interesting to me is how Yuuna has been exalted in the English-speaking fandom. She’s enjoyed in the JP fandom too, sure—but EN seems to have taken quite the liking to her, and I wonder if that’s because EN fans have been wanting a “canonized” hyperfemme Yuu for a while.

There seems to be this trend of looking to official Twst materials to validate the existence of one’s own creations in the English-speaking space, and while I don’t agree with fans needing canon to affirm the art we create (we should be happy with our art regardless of what canon says), I can see why this would feed into the hype for Yuuna. She is a very femme-presenting Yuu, and many Yuusonas I’ve seen are similarly very femme. Yuuka may have been our first girl Yuu, but Yuuna is our first “girly girl” Yuu. If you’re not aware of it, some fans disparage the existence of female Yuus, claiming that an all-boys school like NRC would never allow a girl to study there. Honestly, I never quite understood that argument, especially since it’s clear Yuu enrolled under special circumstances and not by the usual method of enrollment. It feels kind of silly to impose arbitrary rules and who Yuu “can” and “can’t” be when the whole point of them is that they can be anyone, because Yuu is you, the player. Any race, any socioeconomic background, any age, any spiritual beliefs, any occupation, any orientation, any hobbies/interests/skills, and, yes, any gender.

Anyway, due to that whole debacle, many EN fans see Yuuka and now especially Yuuna as important symbols for validating the existence of femme Yuus, both tomboys and girly girls. I suspect that this plays a large part in why Yuuna’s been receiving so much fan content—and, if memory serves correctly, even more than Yuuka received. Yuuka mainly got excited screaming rather than fan works, but I’ve seen Yuuna getting fan art, edits, animations, and a whole lot more. There’s even more excitement for Yuuna because of how openly and unrelentingly girly she is—and how that indirectly represents and validates girly Yuusonas present in the fandom. (Oh, by the way!! REVIEW? SLIGHT RANT

Just finish reading the new chapter in K-manga.

let me just first say, I hope this shut up any whiners of not getting anything about Sakura's back story (you impatient bastards) even though we know plenty about Sakura.

Anyway chapter is awesome if sister cries in the next chapter or any future ones I will explode.

The fact that Kiryu lives in a big house should not come as such a big surprise to Nirei, like come on he went to private school, Him wilting when he welcomes them in is so cute.

Kiryu having a anime/gamer room is so like him and I only wish I had just as much memorabilia from my favorite shows/games and space for it.

The eyes of the people are so scary to me like even the kid eyes are shaded and it being so wide makes it scarier.

I find it interesting that both of them had the same thought about each other, saying the others head is in the clouds. I especially find it interesting that Kiryu's sister thinks of him like that (Akari).

Even from the little that we seen of Kiryu i don't get that vibe from him. He might not care of how people perceive him (as being rude, and at least to males) as indicated with Tsugeura. He also indicated politely that Sakura can talk with him at another time during that interaction. He might always be on his phone playing but he pays attention; he lifted his head when Sakura declared his ambition. He also noticed the commotion was going on in class when Tsugeura invited the trio to eat (though It's not clear how much context he got thru the earphones).

I'm very interested at how they interacted as children and what's their interaction like now.

As for the final scene I found it sad how reined looking Sakura seems with that interaction. I wonder what the sister seem to have done wrong in the eyes of the caretakers (saying this because we don't know if its a family member and if it is what kind (mom, dad, grandparents, aunt/uncle). And like I said on top if they make her cry I will self combust.

"Take the shot." Xenos's voice crackles over the earpiece, and Stanley looks down the gun's scope before pulling the trigger. It's funny how much can change in a few seconds; by the time the shot rang out, you had instinctually moved Senku out of range and taken the hit instead; it got so quiet so fast until you heard Luna scream out at the sight of your blood dripping onto the deck. You stumbled a little bit before you dropped down into a puddle of blood that was growing fast. It smelled terrible; someone moved you onto your back, and you heard some shouting and felt someone moving your now red-stained hair out of your face. You refocused your vision the best you could and noticed Stanley holding you and Senku right near you as well; you felt some pressure on your stomach and saw their mouths moving, saying something. You think people are running around the three of you, and you decide you are too tired and close your eyes.

It felt like Stanley would throw up his heart with how panicked he was. You were bleeding out fast, and the bullet didn't go all the way through, which meant it was stuck. He didn't care how exposed he was right now. He was more worried about you.

"We have to get her below deck before she bleeds out." Stanley grits his teeth and holds you tighter before deciding this is the best hell you have right now without you potentially losing more blood trying to get you to Xeno. He picks you up and lets Senku lead him to a room where he can lay you down to help. A boy in a captain's hat gives everyone else directions while an older man follows him and the junior scientist. He lays you down on the temporary bed while Senku and the older man rush around for supplies.

"Do you know basic first aid?" Stanley looks up from you to Senku and nods his head; the boy hands him a white coat and gloves before bringing over the supplies to get the bullet out of your abdomen. They got to work on saving you the best they could.

Your ears rang when you woke up; you blinked open your eyes and noticed the warm light surrounding you; it was late, and you were probably still on the ship. You try moving and hiss in pain when you do; you touch your midriff and feel the bandages around it; you rub over it gently and whimper at the pain. You shift to get more comfortable and notice a quiet argument happening outside your door; you try to tune in the best you can and make out one of the voices as Stanley's, being half lucid and in pain and shout out his name the best you can and the conversation outside stops. The doorknob jiggles, and then it opens; Stanley and Xeno both step in, the latter looking agitated and relieved at the sight of you awake.

"Hey, sweets," Stanley calls you in a low tone while Xeno closes the door behind them. Stanley stands beside you, and Xeno pulls up a chair to sit on the other side of you. He looks stressed, and Stanley looks like he went through an entire pack of cigarettes. He brushes a hand over your cheek, and you lean into him, relieved at his gentle touch.

"How long was I out?" You ask with a coarse throat. Xeno hands you a cup of water before answering.

"A week. We couldn't risk moving you with the amount of blood you lose." He informs you seriously while Stanley helps you drink. You nod to him when you are done and sit calmly, taking them both in.

"How are the kids?" You question while staring down at Xeno; he scoffs and looks away, a sore subject you seemed to miss while out.

"We've come to a temporary truce." He mumbles while looking away. Your getting shot scared him as much as it did, Stanley. He announces that he needs some air and excuses himself. Leaving you and Stanley alone, you invite him up on the bed with you and shift over to make room for him; he hesitates, so you pull him down with you. You lay his head on your chest and rub his hair gently; he moves and buries his face into your chest while wrapping his arms around you. He listens to your heart and finds comfort in it, still beating. He removes his face from where it was lying to look you in the eyes. You press your heads together, continuing to stroke his hair, and eventually, he gives you a long overdue kiss, expressing all his feelings with this one action. You reciprocate it fully, happy with how it all turned out okay. He shifts to lay on the bed to lay with you entirely, and you both hold each other until you both fall asleep.

In October 2023, she and the star player of the New Jersey Devils, Jack Hughes were seen getting cozy after a game, of which she had been in attendance. the school arc to me is so good because it drags ciel out of his position as a powerful figure and literally places him in the shoes of the person he could have been. the circus arc ALSO drags him out of his position as big bad queens watch dog/head of the phantomhive estate but the school arc feels like a mockery of a future that never was. this is what he could have been had his parents not died. and even then its NOT because he will never be that kid.

Yapping about uzumaki again but honestly while i get why ppl are just "just read the manga again" over this i feel they're kinda missing the point that for some ppl who have already read the manga front-to-back multiple times, their solution to the disappointment of getting your hopes up for 5 years that you'll FINALLY see such an intricate work put in the form of animation with the voice acting, soundtrack, etc. only to have that flushed down the toilet by episode 2 can't really be covered by the merits of manga's medium as a whole

Like it's good to be refreshed on the story and art you remember as it's told through the manga, and ofc I'm not saying one medium is better than the other, but that's the point lol the adaptation of Uzumaki into animation has things people WANTED to see that simply aren't present in the manga which is why so many were so excited to see it in the first place, just like the medium of manga has strengths that can't be present within animation.

Saying "Well the animation sucks, just re-read the manga" may work for SOME but it's not that simple for all the ppl who have been waiting for this for the past 5 years i think 😭 if I wanted to read the manga again I would have, the issue is I wanted to see that power shine through the strengths of the medium of animation in a new light and for a MOMENT, we had it but now it's back to square one which, while it's not a bad place to BE, it's certainly a bad place to return to lmao
