Every day, without fail. There was a brief moment when his warm breath tickled your neck, engrossed in each other's presence watching the sunrise. Your back against his chest, greeting the new day with kisses and gentle touches. Yet much like the sun, such times passed in a matter of minutes and you were both back to routine; he prepared for work dreading the time spent apart, while you started breakfast listening to your shared playlist, eyeing his figure as he buttoned his shirt.

When the time came to see him off, you two stood in the doorway, your hands making their way around his jaw to cup his face and wish him luck. Then as you adjusted his tie he kissed your forehead, mumbling about how he already missed you. You complained he’d be late if he did not leave now but he always got his way when it came to your touch. ‘(Y/N), you’re my good luck charm’ and he was right, the one time you forgot to kiss him, the day went horribly. He came home grumpy and even his workers noticed the shift in attitude. It felt like there was a storm cloud looming over them and you were the umbrella keeping them dry. Needless to say, ever since then you never forgot your goodbye kisses and always threw in an extra for good measure. 

His average day in the office consisted of cheerful greetings to the receptionist announcing it was going to be a great day and a quick hello to all his workers, checking in on them and making sure everything was in order. His attitude was an indicator of the workload and with you on his mind, each day was a breeze. If there were lipstick stains on his face or a dopey grin, their boss became the most calmest and agreeable man on the planet. To the point where he allowed letting puppies roam the office to ‘boost morale’ just because someone asked when he was in one of his lovey-dovey moods.

The newer interns immediately learned they never stood a chance when your husband always made it abundantly clear you were his soulmate from the countless framed photos of you decorating his office, the candles you bought, and the couch you helped pick out. Everywhere he turned there was a memory of you, from the way his hands trailed your hips while you straddled him on the couch to the stolen kisses between meetings when you visited. Your husband made an effort to parade around his unconditional love for you. Unfortunately for the rest of the world but he was off the market and so were you. (Has he gotten a tiny bit upset when people stare at photos of you for too long because he gets jealous thinking they are now in love with you too? Because who wouldn’t see a picture of you and not feel their heart flutter and butterflies swarming their stomach? He was whipped) 

He found himself blushing as the images of your body flashed through his head. Missing you always made him eager to go home. Knowing you were waiting for his return, probably sleeping, or watching a show after promising him you’d wait until was back to start it led him to fill with an immense warmth. He did not just miss you. He yearned for you. On days when he was particularly clingy his work was finished fast without mistake, and he’d rush home barely sparing a farewell. Though in a rush, he made a note to always stop at his favorite convenience store to buy snacks and anything else that caught his eye. 

Through bated breaths, as you made out on the couch with a movie long forgotten, he narrated how he came to purchase the flowers now sitting in a vase on the counter. A florist had the prettiest bouquet and he just had to buy it for you. This was not the first, or last romantic gesture but knowing the thought of you never left his mind made you lovesick and you just could not keep your hands off him. The tie from this morning was tossed onto the coffee table, the white button-up revealing parts of his skin that had been covered in marks from the night before. Your eagerness drove him mad, and he knew it would be worth coming in late the next day.

Hiatus

Hi all.

Today I come to you to discuss something that I’ve been in severe denial of for a very long time: I’m burnt out and want to stop making content. To find out why, continue reading below the cut.

Well, perhaps “burnt out” isn’t necessarily the correct phrase, but rather I’ve been feeling a lot of detachment and even despair regarding my audios/fics for well over a year (more heavily since grad school started last August). I feel like I’m always behind, never able to catch up, never able to get ahead, and, most frequently as of late, never in the mood to work on anything. In fact, it feels like a burden more often than not, especially during the school year (which is understandable, considering, y’know, schoolwork), but even during the summer, I find myself struggling to want to put anything out.

Starting Beautiful Things has only exacerbated the issue. I feel incredibly passionate about Beautiful Things, and I believe in its quality and value and merits of being published far more than I have with any other work I’ve ever planned, started, or finished. But ever since starting it in June, I’ve been operating under the mentality of “I need to get as much done now as I can because once the school year starts, I’ll have to push it aside to focus on schoolwork and OF content.”  But then I thought to myself, “Well…should I? Should I put BT to the side when I feel so passionately about it in favor of something I’m not passionate about? Should I unravel all the diligent work I’ve been doing this past month and a half for the sake of something that causes me significantly more stress than satisfaction?”

The more I think about it, the less I can justify saying yes.

The biggest gripe, of course, is the financial implications. I don’t make a *ton* of money doing content, but I average between $300 and $400 a month, depending on MV performance and customs, and that’s a decent enough paycheck that I hesitate to lose it. But again, I just don’t think I can justify forcing myself to produce work that isn’t bringing me joy.

Now, all that said, I won’t be fully shutting everything down and wiping myself from the face of the internet. YouTube and DeviantArt will remain as they are, and the OF will also remain open at a discounted rate ($5/month, which is the minimum OF will let me charge) for access to the audio archive. I’ll still be active on Tumblr, as I have been for a while, but I won’t be creating any new content (outside of Beautiful Things) for at least a few months—if not ever again. I don’t want to speculate too far into the future, but if I see a significant boost in my mental health after a few months of not worrying about OF posting, then that is a bridge I will have to cross.

I do want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me, especially those who have paid for subscriptions, and even more especially those who have been around since the Patreon days. This community has been an immense source of comfort, confidence, and validation, both for my writing ability/creativity as well as my personality and even physical appearance. Again, I’m not planning on fully disappearing from the community forever; I’ll still be active on here, and I’ll probably also come onto OF every few weeks or so to let those who are left there know how I’m doing—I just won’t be putting any new content out for the foreseeable future.

I’ll be making the necessary updates to OF and other platforms within the next few days. For now, though, I hope you enjoy the archive, and though I’ll be sparse, remember:

Sascha the demon lord and his lovely trophy husband Reynold the Florida man (derogatory question mark) because I care about them immensely. They both really love each other but it takes a while to sink in that it's mutual. Despite being married after a single week of knowing each other. Despite the support and care they show the other whenever they're together, it just doesn't click that oh it's mutual.

(Reynold is such a menace and his ADHD is so bad he has to have Sascha, Melo, Lody, and Solei all act as babysitters and he just doesn't even realize it. He just thinks they're all fine with hanging out with him. Solei brings it up one time about how she has to check on the married couple so often and Reynold is like "we've literally done nothing bad since getting married why are you checking in on us" and she's just "because rumor has it you're possibly a menace" to which "yeah but I married the best impulse control in my life so checkmate, dear goddess." AND DOESNT REGISTER HE JUST ADMITTED HE NEEDS TO BE WATCHED.)

Notes for my Sokkla Celebrity AU (Azula's side)

This AU idea came to me earlier this year (like May??) and wouldn't leave me alone so I wrote all the notes related to it.

I then wrote a Sokkla fic based in this universe, which I struggled a lot with. To motivate me to finish it post it on AO3, I decided to share the notes of that universe. 

So here are the Azula-centric notes for it. I'll post the Sokka-centric shortly and in a few days, the fic.

*Note, all the songs/artists are references in style and/or mood/vibe and/or lyrics. I do not think it would be the exact same song if in that Universe Azula would sing it but it just gives an idea

Without further ado,

ATLA Celebrity AU (Azula-centric)

Azula 0-12

Azula is a child actor with Zuko, gets more roles than her older brother

The whole Sozin family are renowned actors and/or singers (Ozai was an okay actor, Iroh was an amazing actor and singer, and Ursa was an amazing singer who didn't get that much recognition until she got married to Ozai)

Ozai is still very much a piece of shit, setting his children against one another

Ursa doesn't help as she unconsciously supports Zuko more, gives him his love for music and playing guitar & piano

By the time Zuko is 13 (Azula 11) he focuses on music

Azula being always pitched against him, starts dancing & is good at it 

Still, the fire siblings are closer than in canon; Zuko teaches Azula to song-write and express her feelings through lyrics

Meanwhile:

Ursa is trying to divorce Ozai, but Ozai (and the Sozin family) is having none of it because of the image it would give them

Lu Ten dies (suicide, the pressure of being an actor, Iroh is never the same, remove himself from the limelight)

Azula 13 - 16

At Ozai pressure, forms a girl group with Mai and Ty Lee (think: Morning Musume & e-girls). Mai is a better singer, and Ty Lee is a better dancer but Azula is still made the leader. She puts immense pressure on herself to be better than them. Does fewer acting gigs but is known as an actress.

Ozai hurt Zuko (scar-like in canon?) to the media they say it's an accident but behind closed doors, it gives Ursa the out she needed. She leaves with Zuko (they go stay with Iroh) intending to get Azula too but:

1- Ozai fights her even more to keep Azula

2-Ozai makes sure to make Azula believe Ursa left her because she doesn't want her

Azula dates publicly actor Chan; gives him all her firsts "to get rid of them", and breaks up soon after

Azula 17-18

The girls make more sexual dances/songs. Mai and Ty Lee are not comfortable but Azula thrives in the "sex sells" mentality (Ozai influence)

Azula snaps at reporters that ask her about Zuko which gives her a "bad girl" personality which she also thrives in (somehow her doesn't give a fuck attitude boosts her popularity)

The girls have an ugly fallout making their 4th album and get kicked out of the agency (to the girls, it looks like Azula told her father and to Azula, it looks like they left her, but it is all Ozai) 

Zuko starts a solo career under Avatar Industries (they have the Gaang also and Zuko makes friends)

Before releasing his first single, he tries to contact Azula but she's having none of it: she believes Zuko also abandoned her

Rumours about Ozai's shady money deals come out and Azula has to lay low

Azula 18

Mai and Zuko start to date in the public eye and Mai makes one (1) comment about the girls' split which makes the media go into a frenzy

Azula's mental health starts to slip, stops acting altogether after she snaps at a director

Ozai makes Azula go see Zuko telling her to "check what the rivals are doing" but Azula just misses her brother so takes the occasion

Sokka is there also because of my Sokkla agenda to support Zukko

Azula actually has a good time with her brother, they mostly talk about music, and Azula can mock him (friendly) about his cheesy music (think early Shawn Mendes) She also surprisingly has fun with Sokka

(somehow develops a tiny crush that she destroys as soon as she hears Sokka mentioning his girlfriend)

The next day, a rumour explodes that Sokka cheated on Suki (Olympic Athlete) with Azula because Azula seduced him 

Even if Sokka, Azula, and Zuko deny it, the rumours spiral

Azula writes her frustration in a song about how the media portrays her as evil even if Sokka gets less heat. Ozai made Azula release it as her first official solo single (think Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy")

It explodes and Azula releases her first solo album, the second single from the album is actually about Zuko (think Rihanna's "Bitch better have my money" energy, but saying things like; you left me and I trusted you) and it does very well on the chart

Azula 19

Azula is about to go on tour when Ozai gets arrested for money laundering

Her mental health slips even more as they discover his other shady practices and an "anonymous source" relates the abuse Azula & Zuko got

Her tour gets cancelled

Azula gets into a mental psychosis and believes it's her mother who said it to hurt her career

The media tries to get a scoop about it

Azula almost drowns in her bath; Zuko rescues her last-minute

She gets hospitalized; diagnostic OCD, and stays for 8 months

Writes a lot while she's hospitalized

Zuko visits often, and they get a heart to heart, Zuko is also followed for GAD and PTSD

Ursa visits, the first time it makes Azula slip, the second she screams at Ursa. After, the doctors tell Ursa it's best if she doesn't come

Azula 20

After she gets released, (and followed by a therapist) Azula discovers that a lot of rumours were actually set up by her father, like the cheating scandal

(He wanted to make it seem like Azula was the one trying to reach out while Zuko was the one pushing her away, thus chipping his "cute awkward turtleduck" persona he has but when Ozai sees the pictures of Azula laughing at Sokka's joke, another idea comes to his mind)

And the "anonymous source" was actually Ozai's entourage in an "if I'm going down, you're going down with me" attempt

Azula is 100% heartbroken but also 300% mad

She writes a lot of songs

At some point, Zuko tries to make her reconnect with Mai & Ty Lee and even if Azula knows most of the conflict was amplified by her father, she's scared to contact them

Zuko manages to make Azula meet Ty Lee and one thing brings another, they write a song together which they never did because the agency used to write/decide what they sang

They invite Mai to join and through songwriting, they do an album as a group (think ChloexHalle's album "Ungodly Hours")

They become better friends but decide to officially split as a band after the release of the album (Mai & Ty Lee's careers are going great anyway)

(Mai & Zuko break up and might come back together I dunno, haven't thought that far about those 2)

Azula 21

Before releasing the album, Azula announced on social media her mental health conditions and said it was the biggest reason why she was out of the public eye for 2 years.

She tries the best she can to avoid mentions of her father

The girls release the album and it does well, they are praised for their new maturity and powerful vocals

Azula works on a solo album but even with all she has written, she is stuck.

She asks for help (in a very Azula way) from Zuko and she officially meets the Gaang

Azula and Aang become weirdly fast friends

Finished by releasing an EP that is 100% about her father that she conceals as break-up songs (think Naika's EP "Transitions")

Her mother announces she's pregnant with her boyfriend's baby, it lowkey makes Azula spiral for a few weeks, writes about it

Azula 22 

Azula wins prices for her EP and with the album with the girls

She still has a "bad girl" persona (she loves to call herself a bad bitch) to the media but the way she talks about her mental health makes her relatable - she's flippantly talking about tho which a lot called "refreshing"

As she hangs out more with her brother + the Gaang, her crush on Sokka comes back, especially now that he is single, though she doesn't want to act on it

To her surprise, she writes a love song that is just that, a love song (think Selena Gomez's "Souvenir")

Because in the song she sings about blue eyes, the media/internet speculate that it's about Sokka which she denies (even if it's true)

She does a fun danceable song with Aang (think Bruno Mars & Cardi B's "Finesse remix"), surprising everyone

She does a lot of featuring that summer, with other artists but she cannot see what she wants for an album

Something with her father's sentence happens (it got almost revoked or something) which makes her revisit all the (other) songs she has about him

Need to discuss some worries I have regarding the upcoming usa election and its potential effect on my life as a disabled queer trans-man.

As a disabled trans man who just started HRT, I’m terrified about my future and this election. For the first time in my life, the suicidal ideations have completely gone away. I never knew how bad my dysphoria was/is and assumed my ideations were just part of other conditions I have. Before HRT, I was constantly exhausted and had no motivation to take care of myself or do anything at all. I know I’ve only been on HRT for about a week and a half but to my surprise, the boost I got when starting HRT hasn’t stopped at all. I feared it was just another wave of a happy mood swing and then I’d crash. Yet now, I haven’t crashed at all and it’s been a good couple of days and my energy levels have stayed the same. I’m no longer dissociated and my head is clearer despite having auDHD. I don’t feel miserable anymore.

Yet, I’m fully reliant on my parent as I’m disabled and in the middle of trying to find services to help me out. I don’t know if I’ll be able to sustain a full time job, all by myself, with no help. It’s a wait and see game right now. Also, I have no money as I lost it all to them. Again, I also have no one else to help me out or support me. Doesn’t help my parent is probably voting for Trump as well.

With that context being provided, if the worst comes to be what am I going to do? I can’t do anything. It’s already hard enough for everyone trying to be independent right now. The govt. is already screwing over people who can’t work and it’s only going to get worse if the worst outcome happens. Despite me living in a safe state, if they manage to ban gender affirming care in the entire country or try to make it less accessible, I’ll simply revert back to the miserable state I was in except it’ll be amplified this time. If that happens, I’m not going to be able to survive this time.

Look, I’m already concerned about my future regardless of my trans identity. I’m already struggling with college immensely and due to this I’m doubting I’ll be able to hold down a full time job and manage to maintain independency with no help whatsoever. If I can’t work, I feel like I’m going to be screwed for sure. Unfortunlety, besides the gender affirming care I’m getting, I have disabilities that need to be managed. If they aren’t managed, at least one of them, will for sure kill me since it’s physical and not neurological. So, if I can’t work, what the hell am I supposed to do?

For most of my life I thought that the "sense of pride and satisfaction" people get after finishing a painfully difficult tasks was a myth teachers told us about to get us to work hard.

Turns out neurotypicals get a dopamine boost from completing tasks they find immensely difficult and incredibly mentally taxing.

I don't. Because I'm neurodivergent. I just feel exhausted and upset.

Then the workload increases (I'm handed a new task or whatever) because they think I can handle it because surely that dopamine boost that I never got would have replenished my mood and energy enough to get started no problem.

Nah, I'm still exhausted. And now I'm not only expected to have the energy to do new task but also have the energy to re-focus my brain onto the new task (which is a mentally taxing process in itself and can take me a really long time depending on how exhausted I am).

This is why I find life so exhausting compared to others.

Hey all!

I really wanted to sit down and write this out, just in case it might help anyone. Since so many people were so kind to help with suggestions when I was suffering with that UTI, I found a couple of other options that may be beneficial to some people.

It might be a little long, so I'll put it under a read more.

I'm still not 100% back to normal, but I've done repeated urine tests at the doctor, and there isn't even an infection anymore. It seems to just be a really stubborn inflammation, and it was recently getting to a point where I was really just mentally and emotionally wiped from it. It was never super bad, but obviously if you feel uncomfortable non-stop for weeks it really gets to you eventually, and last Saturday I was in tears again just from the frustration, especially since we're due to go away in a few weeks and I just want it to be gone. Nothing I got from the pharmacy did anything.

Now, my boyfriend's mother, while not a doctor or anything, is very good with researching natural remedies due to her own ongoing ailments and reluctance to rely too much on medications. A lot of what she knows is very 'old-wives-tale' style knowledge, but especially when it comes to more natural options, she knows a lot about the history of the plant and how old cultures would have used them.

Please keep in mind that everything I'm suggesting may not suit you. These have helped me immensely in the last couple of days, but they certainly haven't cured me. They may also be things you're allergic to, or if you take medications, may react with them. So please take everything I say with a pinch of salt, and common sense.

So these are what she suggested:

The three main things I've been taking are dandelion (flower and leaves), plantain herb (leaves) and nettle (I just bought this in tea bags).

I brew a tea mixture from them, and they've helped so much already. Apparently they're all diuretics, and help with urinary support and health. But they've given me a lot of relief considering they're all just plants you probably already have everywhere in your garden.

Both dandelion and nettle can be bought as regular tea bags, so that might be easier, especially since there's special preparation for nettles due to their sting.

This might be more common knowledge that I think, but it's certainly something I didn't know about, and I definitely didn't realise how potent they are. And since the majority of plant-related uti advice I think most people hear about it 'drink cranberry stuff', there's not as much emphasis on these.

ALSO. I just started this today as well, but this is something I did know about - eating raw garlic. I've just been chopping a few cloves on some buttered bread, and it's delicious. Garlic is also pretty brilliant for a lot of things, so even just in general I would recommend eating it like that. Or with some honey, whatever gets it down for you if you're able to eat it.

I'd really really recommend if anyone suffers from bladder issues at all, please do some research on this, because even in a matter of like, two days, it's really boosted my mood and general wellbeing.

Obviously I'm still going to the doctor. That's not ruled out, and I'd never tell anyone to rely only on plant remedies when medication could do more. But these have just helped a lot in the meantime.

he also sometimes bought his usual shampoo for him, would simply replace it and sometimes use it as well. he wasn't big on styling himself or anything, but he enjoyed kaveh's scent on himself. sometimes he'd even visit kaveh at work and give him snacks, pat his back before wishing him well. it were small things, a million of them which he did most naturally. he was not big on words, never had been. he was the quiet sort of lover, just there to hold him if it was necessary. offer few words of encouragement, stroke through his fluffy blond hair. he'd tease him, if he was in a good mood just to see his reactions. he was very open and barely held back, bubbly, full of spirit and energy. alhaitham thought that kaveh was beautiful in and out, he took immense pride in making him smile or laugh, but also to see him huff in anger or watch him absolutely flustered.

Since we now have the Hungarian lilac season here and the flowers are in full bloom, I would love to be given those. I love their rich and fragrant smell that fills the whole apartment when you leave windows open and the breeze carries it further and further, and my grandmother used to adore them, so they also remind me of my childhood.

hello. I don't have any much of ask this time, mainly wanting to know which spark song you've been hyper in it(if you comfortable to say of course) and rant

I haven't listened to any songs lately since depression has tighten it grips on me causing me get overwhelmed/over-sensitive to voices but there is this verse keep repeating in my head from change by sparks for unknown reasons (consider I'm not good at memorizing lyrics so I only know this part of song)

i think you had said one or two things about this song to me before but I never opened the discussion cause I feel we will talk ENDLESSLY about it. each sentence in this song carries lot meanings, the full song has it deep heavy meaning while it looks clear as well -very spark type of thing- (like ocean I suppose? at least to me. with clear surface but deepness) and the feelings that arise when I focus on each lines, it goes into my heart before sinks in my soul (I also want to cry with - could be because I'm depressed)

I think is one of those songs I love from sparks that get me go numb on the kitchen floor like the angst on my pants if I let it posses me.

I'm always comfortable talking about any song that I've been fixated on but I've honestly not listened to a lot of music recently (I've also been down in the dumps a bit and crave silence a lot). Sparks is always there though in other ways even when I'm not listening to music: I recently got a poster that I feared I'd missed out on. It made me so happy! It's good memories and a truly great photo. I also bring Sparks up in random conversations a lot, yesterday a friend was talking to me about pandemic isolation times and how people would only dress up the upper half of their bodies for zoom calls. ...so I was thinking of when Sparks made a video in which Russell stood up to show off his polka dot shorts, to which Ron said he wasn't going to stand up because he wasn't wearing shorts and it was supposed to be a pg rated video 😂 (I appreciate these guys so much.) It's in one of their 2020 videos on Instagram, all of which are very worth watching btw. (During self-isolation Russell treated us to singing lessons and workout sessions, Ron showed off his hand sanitizer collection and "The Ronald D. Mael Museum of stones and shells" (if I remember the name correctly), we got A Day In The Life Of Russell, Russell showing off his fridge magnet collection, and weekly lyric reads from Ron, as well as a couple of live recordings of songs from home. Honestly they were sweet as hell for doing all of that, I treasure all of these videos immensely. ... They might be good to watch actually if you need a mood boost :))

But here's something I've been hoping to tell you as there's something exciting coming up for the Sparks fandom: Sparkstember. It's a full month of celebrating Sparks and all their different albums and projects, and it takes place in September. The prompts list hasn't been posted yet but I'm going to assume it's not too dissimilar from last year. People can engage with the prompt/album of the day in any way they like so it's not only about art, though a lot of people make art for every single day of the month, and it's just really fun :) (Also a bit insanity inducing haha, I've now made art for every single day of it for the last 2 years while also trying to keep up with everything my friends have made. I very much intend to do it again this year.) People partake on any social media platform they like, though I personally especially enjoy it on Instagram. Sparks see and share a lot of the stuff that we put out there, so it's a really nice way of letting them know what they mean to us :) There's always too much about them that I can't put into words, also there's just too much to say, so having a whole month and going album by album is really good for that. (I mean, you've seen how I can write a whole essay about just one song. And they've got so many songs, albums, tours, photos, interviews, music videos, etc etc.) So I've been preparing for that these last weeks, and I'll keep the details about it to myself because my answer is getting so long already 😅 (Plus, I'll be going on about every album for the whole of next month anyway.) What I will share though is this tumblr post I made about these lyrics from the song Let's Make Love. You may have already seen that post float by, but it says everything about my motivation for Sparkstember and how much I love Sparks. (Gratuitous tag rant included on the post 🙃)

...sorry to go all "I love Sparks" on you today, without really talking about a song (I truly could write a whole book about them and their work though, plus there isn't really a separation between them as people and their art, it all exists as one massive universe but it's also all one and the same thing).
