IC's general overreaction of Nesta is stupid af.

I don’t understand why the narrative/IC tries to portray Nesta as this killing machine (even before the training) that they have to walk on egg shells around like she'll explode and slaughter them all purposefully whilst simultaneously being dicks. Like, not everyone is going to be immediate best friends with fae they were brought up to fear coming into their lives and changing it forever without a slick of protection. Not everyone is going to be so nice when randomly being antagonised by strangers over a one-sided sob story. Who the hell would like to remain in a place where they know they're not welcome and just take snide comments that her own sister allows and hardly reprimanded or corrects?

Like, Nesta treats everyone the same and then acts accordingly depending on their behaviour and actions towards her. You want to snap, she'll snap back. You have something sly to say, prepare for a lashing. You give common decency, and you get the same in return. She's not complicated.

She doesn't go around randomly beating people up, destroying mountains in arguments, ruining other courts or killing people as that seems to be the coping mechanism for the IC. She doesn't go throwing her power around and forcibly asserting dominance. It's how they act, so they believe she'll lash out just as violently, when in reality, she'd rather keep to herself if she can.

The only times she's killed anyone was when they were trying to kill her or were an immediate threat. The King of Hybern, the Kelpie, the Illyrian’s during the blood rite she was trapped in, Briallyn, the Asteri. All unavoidable. All necessary for her survival.

Like, their fears are so over the top and matches nothing of Nesta's character. She's not blood thirsty. She'd sooner give you a verbal lashing than a physical one even before her powers.

In truth, they simply fear her power. They know she doesn't bow to them. That alone brings uncertainty and unease as something uncontrollable, and Rhysand and Co. hates her for that, I'm sure. Hates that she has an unexplainable power. Hates that she controls the Troves. Hates that she can *make* weapons. And would probably hate that the Mother spoke to her if they knew. They see her moreso as a weapon than a person and if they were smart enough, they would have befriended her faster than trying to dominate and I'd hope, make an enemy out of her because the IC do the most for no reason and then act shocked at the result from others perception of them.

It's like they want a self-fulfilling prophecy. Out here manifesting Nesta's villain arc and honestly, I'd be here for it just to see more characters put them in their place and someone breaking free from the IC shackles.

I was thinking about how so many characters in Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss wear high heels.

It kind of reminds me of the designs in The Powerpuff Girls, which was a huge obsession for me as a child. Despite the fact that only a few characters wore heels (HIM, Ms. Bellum, Sedusa...), for some reason I misremember so many of the villains having heels in that show, don't ask me why.

I'm just cracking up at the idea of A)Batman's villains not knowing robins apart, and B) Jason being (in his 20s should point out) thirsty af for Bruce, like he's the only robin who doesn't have fatherly/uncle-like (Tim has parents doesn't he?) relationship with him and he gets pissed when other villains mention it to him as red hood.

Top 10 villains who managed to eff up your moral compass because of their character and/or physical appeal?

Ooh this is a fun one!

1. Number 1 is most definitely Lee Dong Wook from Strangers from Hell. It’s the performance that really turned me into a fan. I would say that he is super evil but I didn’t mind because everyone in the show is pretty much terrible/has a dark side, Im Siwan included. His obsession with ISW was also such a delight to watch. And his visuals in this drama was just *chef’s kiss*

2. Helan Zhen from The Rebel Princess/Monarch Industry played by Yuan Hong. So wrong, but also so sexy only because he’s played by Yuan Hong. If this was someone else playing him, he’d be kicked to the curb without a second thought for all his annoying whining and misplaced revenge. If you go through my rebel princess posts about him, you’ll see that I agonized over his character because he was so sexy but also sooo infuriating.

3. Kim Ji Hoon from Flower of Evil simply because of that glorious long hair. As a character and a villain, he was a bit of a weenie though.

4. Ryo Katase from Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi played by Kimura Takuya. He’s not really a villain but a morally gray anti-hero and boooy was he sexy. One of the few times Kimutaku was actually allowed to play a character that acknowledged how attractive he was. Even before the reveal in the final episode, I was constantly going back and forth between telling Fukatsu Eri’s character to stay far away him and urging her to just throw caution to the wind and make out with him.

5. Yang Kang from Legend of Condor Heroes played by Yuan Hong. Yang Kang is a great antagonist and Yuan Hong makes him even better by imbuing some nuance to the character. Plus, Yuan Hong is a Sexy Daddy now but young Yuan Hong is nothing to scoff at.

6. Yi Bang Won in My Country played by Jang Hyuk. Well, I wouldn’t really consider him a villain but he is ultimately the final antagonist for Hwi and Seon Ho. But it’s Jang Hyuk sooo need I say more?

7. Yuwen Hu from The Legend of Dugu played by Jeremy Tsui. I’ve only seen one episode but I can already tell I’ll probably root for his character because he sure is easy on the eyes lol. But also, from everything I’ve read, he seems to steal the show with his villain character.

8-10. I can’t think of any specific villains right now to fill these last spots so I’m just going to throw in a catch-all - Jin Han as any villain because he pretty much built his early career on playing the bad guy and I’m thirsty AF for him hahaha

AHH U LIKE MADANI?! i feel like most people who write for billy hate her and i just don’t understand why? she’s an incredible character, hot af and takes no shit, why wouldn’t you love her?

I know, right? Like, I admit she was a bit all over the place in season two but, that was every character there, tbh.

Krista was a much more despicable character, and yet she doesn't get half the hate Madani gets? But I mean, she was smart, tenacious, her heart was in the right place, and she was bad. Ass.

She was angry and thirsty for revenge in season two, I know, but to be honest, so would I be in her place, and it's , in my opinion a much healthier reaction than, let's say, still be in love with the guy that used her and tried to kill her? I am a big fan of angry women wanting the people who abused them to get what they deserved so even if I have the biggest crush on Billy Russo, I will always Stan Madani before him.

And I'm not saying I will never make her an antagonist in one of my works, cuz I prefer to have a badass, nuanced, three dimensional character as a villain, instead of a quick sketch of a stereotyped crazy woman like Krista, it feels much more rewarding when my characters get to defeat someone actually on their level (and this is no hate to Floriana, by the way, she did an amazing job with the material she was given), but I digress. The point is this is, and will always be a DINAH MADANI STAN ACCOUNT

He obviously doesn’t get to walk around looking like a sexy fallen angel without people thirst posting about him. No one is immune, you will see thirst content from other criminals, from people who aren’t villains but still anti heroes and part of an underground culture, from regular ass citizens, from students, and literally even from pro heroes sometimes (one day Edgeshot tweeted "ngl I’d love to be the one to arrest Shigaraki not for the glory but because he fine af and would look good in handcuffs").

So yeah, it’s very much A Thing™️. Shig knows about it and he acts like he doesn’t care but he is THRIVING, he loves the attention and everyone can see it. The LOV obviously knows about it too and 1) they get it because almost all of them also have a crush on Shig 2) they think it’s fucking hilarious.

So yeah it’s a thing. One day, Spinner shows up super excited because he discovered the #shigathirst tag on tumblr where people are being horny on main for Shig. Of course, it’s a whole thing, everyone wants him to read some stuff out loud and Shig is pretty comfortable with all of this so they can really have fun with this. Only Dabi stays quiet.

They go through the tag reading everyone’s dirty thoughts and desires about Shig, they see the Shig x reader fics, the dirty fanart ... there’s even a whole thing where people try to find as many candid photos of Shig as they can. Of course, most of the images that people share are from the news, and the amateurs one aren’t always very good, but it does the job and people are super happy.

But then there’s this one blog.

There’s this one blog that they find almost right away because it seems to be one of the most popular one. It’s definitely the most active one, the person posts and shares almost hundreds of pics and horny thoughts every day. They have a lot of followers because they write some of the most GRAPHIC Shig x Reader content out there, but also because they post a lot of pics of Shig. Very good pics.

The LOV quickly realises that there is something weird going on. That person posts a lot of high quality Shigaraki pics, including pics that no one should have access to. It’s not really dangerous because none of the pics show anything really compromising (you can never tell where they are or anything like that) but there are a lot of candid pics of Shig just ... vibing. Most photos are taken without him being aware of it, but the person who took them was obviously very close to him. Some pics of Shig napping, Shig talking to Kurogiri, Shig sitting on a rooftop ...

The squad is not stupid so they immediately understand what’s going here. Very very very slowly, they all collectively turn toward Dabi who is still very quiet, very still, except that he is now SWEATING BULLETS ...

The only one who doesn’t put two and two together is SHIGARAKI HIMSELF who is just like "oh wow that’s kind of weird how did that person get so much details right about my body lmao" and now the rest of the LOV is looking at him then back to Dabi again then back to Shig then back to Dabi who progressively shaking and sweating more and more.

The LOV thinks that this is the funniest shit ever and they all collectively decide to say NOTHING and to quietly enjoy Dabi’s suffering until Shig’s brain cells figure it out. It takes FOUR MONTHS before Shigaraki understands.

Ok this is really hard to put into words but

I know that the history of queer coding villains and predators is long and prevalent but I feel like we’ve hit a new and even more insidious stage. Maybe it’s not that deep. I think that if you frame it carefully it could even be a good thing. But. This guy preys on literal children. His entire thing is breaking them mentally and physically. He is a grown man who gropes teenagers and grooms elementary school students.

So why is he the coolest character on the show?

His lines are fire. His moves are fire. His outfits and drama? Fire. Everyone else is a little more brought down to reality but Adam is Rule of Cool 100%. A big part of that is his “Hello Fellow Kids, looking at you my fellow LGBTQ+s!” dialogue. We’re still really thirsty for rep so it’s easy to latch onto anything that so much as acknowledges textually (not subtext, FULL text) that we exist. 

I don’t have a problem with that as part of his character. I think that, considering again that he’s a child predator, it honestly makes sense that he’d talk in a that’s ripped straight from the highschool GSA, a virtue signal sans virtue, the light dangling in front of an angler fish’s mouth.

Where I take a problem with it is

Why did the show REDEEM this fucko?

“Oh he grooms and gropes children because he had a horrible childhood” shut the fuck up, show. “Oh, the kids showed him the light and he’s better now!” shut the fuck up show. “ALL HE NEEDS IS FRIENDS so we gave him friends!” Among the demographic that he’s spent who knows how many years preying on?!

The show gives him zero consequences in every area of wrong doing. I take issue that he wins. Not only does someone else take the fall for his fraud but now he has access to the kids that he’s been manipulating and bad touching LITERALLY the entire show ?????? He’s FRIENDS with them now? THAT’S the finale? And the context clues say it’s a HAPPY ENDING?

This man needs to be on a list where he can’t be within however many feet of schools, not given a happy ending where he’s directly within the sphere of influence of teens and preteens. That on top of the rule of cool that guides him? So the most dangerous dude on here gets a pass but also is written in a way to directly appeal to the LGBTQ+ demographic?

It’s insidious as fuck and it makes me seriously wonder what the hell was going on in that script writing room.

We see this again and again. Hisoka from HxH is another example. Preds on kids, rule of cool by spades, debatably queer-coded, lifted up by the narrative instead of punished by it. And I know there's more but I’m braindead af so they’re not top of mind right now. 

So. Anyways. I can’t watch SK8 anymore, or even finish it properly, because that honestly makes me kind of sick, and I think it’s really fucking dubious that this keeps happening in children’s media, just now it’s getting less heterosexual like it’s been before (IE basically every teen drama ever focusing on a student/teacher relationship). TF are we trying to set our kids up for? Can we stop?
