here are some very random martial arts headcanons for some of the jjk characters bc why the fuck not. btw yes i am aware that most of them practice more than one style of fighting i just think that these are smth that they'd really like as well!!!!

toji likes brazilian jiu jitsu – he got into that a bit later in life, he did more hand-to-hand combat training when he was younger but ever since he discovered brazilian jiu jitsu, he's been obsessed with it. he can use his size and his strength, and his whole entire body and that makes him feel very confident. he's very good at those on the ground throws,, like when he's being pinned down, he always manages to literally toss the opponent off of him and then immediately put him in a hold. it looks incredibly easy when he does it lmao

satoru likes muay thai – HE LOVES DOING SHIN KICKS idk he's so into them. he looks like a maniac when he's fighting btw he's constantly smiling and it's a little scary (it's very hot). since in muay thai there's a lot of elbow and knee hits too you can get very up close to your opponents and i think this is also something he really likes!!!!! mmm during fights he also likes to rile his opponents up lmao

suguru likes wing chun – suguru is the only one i struggled with assigning just ONE style bc i feel like he's veeery very into different types. but wing chun is very fast and it involves punches and slaps and just redirecting the hits coming your way,, wing chun fighters always look so calm while doing it and idk i really think this could be his thing. honorable mention goes to aikido!!!!!!!! he likes it when he doesn't have to hustle around too much, he likes it when he can just put somebody in their place with a mean little grin on his face.

sukuna likes kickboxing – he's all abt that raw power. he loves throwing punches and he's very similar to satoru in the sense that he too, looks like a fucking freak when he's in the ring. they both love the adrenaline so fucking much. in contrary to muay thai, kickboxing has more leg kicks, sooo you can keep your distance a bit more but he's more than fine with that bc that way he can truly show how hard he can hit lmao he has an insane right hook aaand he also really loves doing high leg kicks:333333

megumi likes judo – takes after his dad:3333333 he trained a lot with toji when he was younger but since toji rarely let him win it was mostly just little gumi being a grumpy little sea urchin lmao the fighting styles are both mostly abt grappling and ground work buuut while jiu jitsu is more abt making the other submit by putting them in a hold, judo is more abt throwing ppl around and megumi really likes that. it makes him feel really strong. (he likes to stare down at his opponent after he's just gotten the point i think he can be very mmm cocky sometimes lmao)(he learned that from toji)

yuuji likes wrestling – HE'S THEE BOY EVERRR!!!!! ofc he works out a lot but he's got soo so much raw strength and he loves it when he can put that into use. he's won like SO many competitions lmao i think he's very lighthearted abt the fights though and he has literally no beef with anybody (kind of like hinata yk?)(others definitely have beef with him though bc he's so stupidly strong lmao) he's very concentrated during the match but the second he's won he's got a bashful big grin on his face!!!!!!!!!! he enjoys the sport a lot a lot a lot!!!!

nobara likes taekwondo – IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she loves it and she has been practicing it ever since she was little. she loves kicking and punching she's very energized all around!!!! SHE GOES TO COMPETITIONS ALL THE TIME TOO!!!!!!!!! oh and she and yuuji are constantly sparring despite the fact that their styles are so different lmao (yuuji will get his ass beat bc he's kind of.. afraid to throw nobara)(but then gets called a 'pussy' bc nobara says he should fight her with all his might)

expectedly, this got long, so im putting it under a cut!

19: What do they fight about most often? (Alternative: what was their biggest fight?)

ohgh. pre-relationship its certainly the same thing they get in arguments abt in-game, which is laslow's behavioral issues (ESPECIALLY regarding women LOL) but post relationship--i think, at least, laslow is a pretty devoted partner. so the flirting issue dwindles (tho its fun to think abt the process of him successfully killing that habit~), so it's not the most prominent thing they argue abt anymore. on laslow's side, once laslow starts getting comfortable calling xander out on some of his Things, it'd result in the potential for little spats. his work ethic, his harshness, his stubbornness. i don't think xander takes what he finds to be unwarranted critique particularly well. he's not used to it, either, not coming from laslow. so he gets huffy HAHA

on the other hand, something i rly like for xander's side is him pointing out the ways that laslow will Not let go of some of his retainer habits (i wrote a fic abt this), and trying to get laslow to recognize that he holds a lot of worth to xander. also, i dont think laslow's issue of not wanting to burden ppl with his problems will just go away, and i think the more xander realizes that's something he does, the more he starts pestering him about it.

with all this being said i think it does take a lot to get them into an actual, lasting, *argument* once they're in a relationship. probably would take a pretty specific scenario? i don't think it's impossible that it could happen, tho.

22: Love languages? How do they get around differences, if any?

rubs my hands together. i rly rly think xander is a gift giving man.... i think he's also more physically affectionate than expected (and can get particularly touchy if he gets jealous (...which he does. more on my hc that xander's harsh punishments for laslow flirting w women were fueled by jealousy later KFJSKDFJ)). on that note, i think he's also more chill abt PDA than expected too, but he can get awkward around his siblings.

laslow i think is more wordy abt his affection!! both in giving affection and in receiving it, and i think it takes some communication for xander to start verbalizing in a way that resonates with laslow heh. physical touch seems very obvious for laslow too considering that he does literally glomp xander multiple times HAHA tho when xander initiates it i think it flusters him quite a bit while they're early on in their relationship :3

i dont necessarily think they clash, but they need to nudge each other in the right direction sometimes!! neither of them are mind readers so it does take some effort, tho.

29: First date? (Give as much or little detail)

first date.... hmm...!!! i feel like their first date would go along the lines of that they've been in a relationship for a while, and laslow ends up being like we NEED to go on a DATE that's what people DO. not just an outing (waggling his finger), but a defined date. laslow would be the one to set the whole thing up (and honestly, the reason he probably feels like they haven't been on a date before is bc *he* hasn't taken *xander* on one, tho ultimately this would still be the first time they've been on a defined date) and hmm perhaps they'd see an opera together, or something. i think it'd go well, too, no catastrophes or major issues. and from then on they do start doing little things together more often. not always quite as high end as an opera, but it opens the way!

YEAHHH i get to think about them againnnn ^.^

1. are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?

Mizuki is associated w indigo or purplish-blues and Blanch is associated w dark maroons or brownish reds. Mizuki likes blues and purples but sometimes just sticks w black when they can't handle making a fit, Blanch wears mostly red but only sticks to dark colors, she hates flashy shit or coming off that she wants attention (idk how to explain it cause im thinking "doesn't she and kara dress alike" NO THEY DONTTT but its funny to think about)

7. favorite animal? why?

Mizuki loves all animals a whole lot, mammals and bugs especially (i explain it better here). Blanch loves badgers and boars, she likes bears too but believes they're overated a bit. to summarize: she loves the animals w brute strength and claws, (also she likes dogs but isn't as crazy as Zuki is about em)

10. if they wear jewelry, what kind? do they prefer silver or gold? do they have a favorite gem?

Mizuki wears small ear rings but sometimes would wear silly, fun ones but i actually forgot about those kinds so for now they're just small ones😭. Blanch has 2 helix piercings (idk if you can do that but don't think about it too hard) a earlobe piecing on both ears, she also has piercings we can't see but idk if i'll ever get to drawing them (again) but yeahhh.

Zuki likes silver or rose-gold jewelry and Blanch sticks to titanium for everything, both don't care for what's "expensive" they just wear for aesthetic reasons.

Both of them know nothing about gems but Zuki likes any rainbow-y gems like opal and Blanch sorta just sticks w rubys because they're red.

24. do they have any creative hobbies? (art, writing, music, etc)

Mizuki draws and doodles thingss when they're bored, they occasionally play games while home but they're not very serious about most their hobbies (sometimes they get intense about art stuff when they go to galleries and stuff but their words get really garbled when they get excited so it gets confusing to everyone else). i've also thought of times when Zuki would experiment a bit w art and sometimes try diff medias, things wouldn't stick though but it's somewhat of a hobby, trying to find new hobbies

Blanch is in a band (which i never talk about btw "grins") but she isn't really a song writer or at least doesn't consider it like a hobby, sometimes she'll play guitar on her own and vibe but she's very busy, doesn't have much time for hobbies. She is sorta artsy though, and sometimes, after she got friendly w Zuki again, would try the things Zuki would be experimenting with. I think she'd enjoy doing collages a lot, she gets magazines often from her bandmates or would get some her band was featured in so she's got a bunch of material for it.
