Plot: It's coming to the annual Met Gala and you've got a list of celebrities you are set to dress in your brand, however there's one celebrity your all fighting for. Things are getting busy with that and being not even halfway through the F1 season!

"Baby? Can you ask Lewis round for dinner!" you call and he comes trotting round the stairs your son in his arms.

“Mumma” your son cries opening his arms up for you to take him and you frown not being able to hold him anymore so you walk over to the sofa so he can lay down with you.

“Hello baby” you grin nuzzling his nose with yours making him burst out laughing and hold both sides of your cheeks.

“So, Lewis for dinner?” You grin.

“Yes let me message him darling” he says pulling you in for a kiss before tapping away at his phone.

Toto: Hello Lewis, Y/N wants you to come over for dinner. I suspect it’s to ask you about the Met Gala.

Lewis: Ah, yes when should I come over?

Toto: Anytime that pleases you!

“Lewis!” You squeal in excitement as he walks through the door to your home. You pull him in for a hug. You were currently very pregnant with yours and Totos second child, only a few weeks away from your due date. But you never stopped working as, to you it wasn’t really work, it was a hobby that you got payed very kindly to do.

“Hello beautiful” Lewis smiles kissing your cheek before looking you over.

“God look how big she’s getting!” He smiles looking at your stomach making you smile at hold it happily.

“She’s been kicking a lot, she’s ready to come out and meet her uncle” you grin elbowing him a little before your son comes running in.

“LEW LEW” he screams wrapping himself around his uncles leg. Lewis laughs before picking him up.

“So, will you let me style you for the met gala?” You ask, and he laughs a little.

“Mmm I’ve already had a few people reach out to me…” he says cheekily and you gasp in mock horror.

“WHO! Tell me now!” You demand and he laughs.

“Dolce and Gabana and Donatella Versace” he admits and you gasp even more.

“Oh Lord, I can’t fight for you when I’m pregnant” you sigh knowing it would be hard work considering that Lewis had a brand deal with Dolce and Gabana.

“Y/N, chill i was always going to go with you anyway. I trust no one more than i trust you” he grins and you pull him into a bigger hug, regardless of the struggle.

“I promise your going to look amazing!” You grin and he nods knowing you’d keep that up!

You’d worked hard for the last few months, after you’d given birth you got straight to working on your new summer line of clothing which you decided on two different themes.

You’d been a little more stressed, trying to keep up with work while looking after both the kids. But it was getting too much with Toto often away. You’d asked him many times to come home and help but he was so busy with Mercedes and how rubbish their car was this year.

It took a whole breakdown of you sobbing to Lewis on the phone saying you were thinking you’d have to stop out of the Met Gala because of the stress to get Toto’s attention.

He came home straight away, pulling you into a hug and giving you the time off you needed. You spent time at a spa, relaxing and spending evenings with your husband which you felt like you hadn’t done for months now.

Of course you didn’t end up dropping out of the Gala, and you’d turned down all the rumours that you were. The rumours being that Versase and Dolce and Gabana were going to take on all your celebrity clients.

“I’m sorry I haven’t been here for you more” Toto sighs and he cuddles into you and kisses all over your face and down your jaw and onto your neck.

“It’s okay, I love you so much baby” you sigh into him and the feeling of him being present.

“What do you mean design input?” You ask suspiciously.

Every time that he’d asked for this it had somehow been a ploy to incorpórate the Mercedes logo into something.

“Well I was thinking if you were styling Lewis you could …” he starts but you immediately shake your head and glare.

“No, no toto I - im not putting a Mercedes Logo on Lewis suit!” You cry with a laugh looking at him.

But Toto knew he had a few months to convince you.

“Y/N who are you wearing tonight?” One of the paps cheekily calls making you grin in their direction as they snap a picture.

“Myself of course!” You shot back with a massive smile on your face that had Toto’s heart soaring. It was a rare day in which you and Toto were free of the little monsters you guys called your children and you were both lapping up the time with one another.

“Looking fabulous Y/N” another shouts and you are walking down the carpet, greeting everyone who you had dressed before you meet up with Lewis.

“Hello” you smile and he pulls you into a hug.

“Looking radiant as ever” he says spinning you round making you chuckle. Lewis was quite literally a part of yours and Toto’s family at this point and so you always were acting like this.

“Now it’s time to face the crowd!” You smile before entering in for a night at the mets.

SF6 announced it's second slate of DLC and there's precisely 1 non-controversial character in it

Yeah and precisely 1 character in there I give a shit about lmao

Yeah, sure, I mean come on they were always going to bring Bison back, he was like the number two most requested in a recent poll and they've been prepping the groundwork for a while. I'm not gonna say I wanted Bison back, but he's the most iconic fighting game villain, we all saw it coming. Either way, everybody who's come back for Street Fighter 6 has come back as the coolest and greatest they've ever been, and I already like Bison a lot so, I'm sure they'll make it worthwhile. I definitely think he looks very interesting at least, really want to know what's up with his new design.

I'm not a fan of two slots going to guest characters? Feels like way too much, I didn't even want guest characters to begin with, but okay. See, there are very few returning SF characters I would trade over a brand new SF6 character, the batting average for the newcomers has been the best it's ever been, but if they are deciding to pull back on adding new characters, and instead rework existing characters or add inconsequential guest crowd-pleasers, okay. I'd rather them not add a new character unless they're putting something really good forwards.

Terry, yeah, Terry's great! You guys know I love him. Of course he gets the honor of being the first non-Capcom guest character in Street Fighter, they have a whole connection. I'd be more impressed if Terry didn't also show up in Smash and Fighting Layer and those mobile collabs and everything, but yeah, Terry!

Really couldn't give less of a fuck about Mai though. Yeah yeah, she's popular, if you get to add SNK guys of course you go with her, Capcom knows what the audience wants, whatever, mostly I find it ridiculous that people treat her like she's some kind of peer to Chun-Li. But like I said, I'd rather have a guest character that doesn't mean anything, than a half-baked new character.

See for a while there I was actually scared that Capcom would stop putting Elena in stuff, considering the HUGE backlash to her USFIV self and how that led to a lot of people vocally disliking the character. I'm glad they aren't cowards because OH MY GOD SHE LOOKS AMAZING

I was dead sure they were going to add Ibuki or Makoto before her, and hell I'm still holding out for Makoto! Out of all the SF3 characters I expected them to add, Elena was very far from the top and I'm very glad to be proven wrong.

They're finally giving her clothes! I don't know who at Capcom keeps pushing them to finally put pants on the women and I hope they never stop. Already the best she's ever looked.

I'm not one of those people that only likes Elena because she has a funny interaction with Akuma in her ending, she was actually always one of my favorites, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not curious how and if they're gonna pick on that thread given the wonderful job they've done characterizing Akuma.

And oh my god how are they gonna animate her, she was always such a distinct character in the way she moves compared to everyone else. How are they gonna update her to the current standards, or make sure she still stands out? They've done such mind-blowing stuff with Rashid, god I can't wait.

Best TV Shows of 2024

Alright, it’s fine for my final top 10 of 2024 list. You can check the others by just going over to my profile and scrolling or filtering through the tags. This time we’re covering shows I watched, I didn’t watch to much TV really but I lumped up anime and cartoons and live action all together to make a top 10. This will be my least sapphic list because unlike all the rest of the art I engage in that is super self directed I get put to shows and movies by my girlfriends, fiance and polycule and they tend to be less focused on only tend sapphic art than me.  As always this list also isn’t just things that came out in 2024 btu things I watched in 2024. 

I am not doing a movie list cuz I watched like 5 movies this year in total but if your curious here is the movies and were I’d rank them with no explanation at all  1.Psycho Goreman 2. Bottoms 3. Nimona 4. Ghost In The Shell  5. Willy's Wonderland those were all good, I liked them. 10.  Arcane  

I hated the ending of Arcane but this show still gets a spot here in the top shows just thanks to it’s amazing animation, soundtrack and still very good characters I still ended up enjoying enough about the show to put it here.  Jinx is amazing as always, a fantastic character among the best around even with the rushed pace and some choices I don’t love I still think she was great if rushed. Sevika similarly is screwed over in most parts of the story but the first act made me fall in love with Sevika in a way I was just utterly invested before. Issha was adorable too. I think politically this show fails as it mounts into this widder universe story telling our time is wasted on set up. I was here for a political story about the under class rising up and sorta kinda for lesbians but Vi and Cait being cops made me less interested in that particular story. Without the lesbian stuff though I won’t be interested in whatever else there doing in LoL and I don’t think a Noxus show will have it so I am uninvested but ya. 

9. Dr. Who 

I am not a doctor who girly, I don’t give a shit about Dr. Who but my girlfriend loves the show and with the new protagonist being a out gay black man I was like you know what I’ll give it a shot with her and so I did and it was pretty good.I find it very annoying that Lesbians are mention many, many times but in terms of important lesbian characters, we don’t have any. It really does feel like Rose is gay bait but I am pretty sure she’s supposed to be straight and somehow just do things for lesbians all the time? Outside of that it’s like a fun enough sci-fi show and the doctor's little gay romance in that one episode was compelling. 

8.  Mob Psycho 100 Part 3 

The ending to Mob makes for a fantastic send off to what might be the best shonen anime. Mob is full of heart and a compassion for it’s characters that is unlike a lot of shoenen that mostly treats them as objects for power scaling and then breeding new characters for a spinoff. With a center on Mob as the most OP and best it doesn’t need to worry itself about giving a ton of people new powers or whatever and instead lets the kids in the show mostly be kids and sometimes they deal with big things. The show is funny, well animated, well scored and well performed. The English dub losing it’s actor due to Chrunyrolls hatred of VAs having rights is a crime but the show is overall good despite the true incompetence of anime’s current monopoly.

7. Adventure Time: Fiona and Cake 

While this show does not have enough of the iconic sapphic couple and instead focuses on their M/M alternative selves the show still makes for a great time. It has a ton of love placed in it, continues to move the world of Adventure Time forward where so much of Adventure Time expanded media these days wants to look backwards at like season 1 Adventure Time. Fiona and Cake are fun messes, Simon’s arc is solid and it all comes together really well. The vampire world AU is obviously the peak cuz we get really hot fem evil marci and butch Bubblegum and I want more of that and more AUs of them as women please.   

6. Delicious In The Dungeon 

I really didn’t think this anime would be for me but the great animation, lovely music and fantastic designs pulled me in for the story. I honestly find it hard to have many faults with the story. The fact Mariclle and Fallin are supposed to be read as just friends fucking blows cuz it’s so clear their like in romantic love with one another and I do not like the politics of slaying monsters and monsters being these mindless things. However, it’s just a really fun and well put together show. It’s not politically dazzling, it’s not winning any contests for me in any category really but it’s just really well done in enough places that it’s all together a great package that kept me watching weekly. Although maybe I would have fallen off if I didn’t have a Delicious In The Dungeon inspired roleplay actively going on at the time. 

5. Our Flag Means Death Season 2 

The gay pirate show had a really solid ending. While many fans were mad the show was not renewed I think we got a perfectly great ending to a funny and fun show and this worked as a series finale. The show engaged it’s themes really well, the cast came back together in a great way, the new characters added a lot to the world. It could have more lesbians, everything could have more lesbians but it’s a great show and a great time overall. It loved this queer family of pirates fucking around.

4.  What We Do In The Shadows 

I like these bisexual vampires a lot, their funny and it’s a fun show. I haven’t watched the final season of the show but I watched every other season this year and I enjoyed it. I think the last season I watched was weaker then the rest but still funny. The show could do more with it’s women and their own bisexuality but it’s a good time and I enjoy most of the characters. A lovely show that’s just an overall goodtime.

3.   The Acolyte   

This is the best piece of Star Wars Media ever made I think which isn’t really that high of a bar but is like super cool.  The fight scenes are amazing, the character writing is great,  I love the layers of morality here that actually go with the themes I’ve always thought were most cool about the Star Wars universe, the fact that the Jedi suck has always been there and it’s great to see that complicated position that Jedi have.  The show is lit a bit dark which I am sure is to hide stuff but I wish it was more light up and we could see more of the action but despite that it was mostly great. The main thing holding back the show is the very ending which existed to make a season 2 possible, I think it made the story worse when it was likely to only get one season, the sisters should have been able to run off together and it genuinely makes no sense to me why they needed to split up. 

2. Derry Girls

Catholic School Ladies in their messy little teenage life set during a huge moment in Irish history. It’s a fairly liberal show politically but it’s a comedy so I don’t really care. Although the glowing praise for the Clinton's In BBC show is certainly weird.  The show is funny in a way that feels extremely personal. It truly does feel like a friend group and family or at least you know the retelling it sells itself as. It's a very fun time overall and one that really suits a mood for a comedy that feels just real enough to feel grounded. 

1. Ayaka Is In Love With Hiroko

I love Lesbians but I didn’t find any lesbian shows this year of particular interest to me probably because there isn’t a ton of them.  So this show was an exciting part of the year to me getting a show centered around several lesbians and a building romance. It's always just nice to see the word lesbian and while it isn't as well used as in the manga it's still here and it's a good story. I think it's just amazing for what it is at it's budget. Like it's a very cute and sweet little romcom that's ending isn't one I love but not one I hate either, just kinda not the direction I'd have liked.

Insufferable Arsehole: An Interrupted Interview

A/n: I absolutely love requests like these. It means I get to write something that's not within the series but relating to it and I had fun writing this. I got this request ages ago and I'm finally getting round to finishing it... This is kinda set in the middle of Chapter 1, before the fans new about their relationship.

Note: I got sent this ages ago so I aoologise for taking so long... I'm trying to sort out my drafts because I have so many so I'm finally getting round to posting it even though it's not really finished.

Initially when Jamie had explained that companies had started to reach out, practically begging to get an interview with her, she was apprehensive to say the least. He had explained that he had spoken with Lou's manager Gregg and they both agreed it would be a good step for her.

It would allow fans of the 1975 who didn't know her very well to get to know her better and for her own fans, would provide them with content that they desperately wanted.

She was unsure because she knew she'd be asked about her and Matty's relationship. But the couple spoke about it and Matty (along with Jamie) said that whatever she decided to say or not say, was fine with them and they would deal with any repercussions as a team.

As they were on tour, Jamie managed to fit an online interview in, so there she sat, at the back of their tour bus, laptop placed in front of her as she nervously played with her hair. She could hear the guys laughing and having fun in the background and was afraid she would be missing out, but she knew she needed to do this.

She heard a quick knock on the door, 5 minutes until the interview starts, she murmurs a come in before the door is opening ever so slightly and Mattys face is revealed.

"Are you alright in here darling? We'll try to keep it down" he says, sweetly, smiling at her from his place, having not yet stepped into the threshold.

"Yeah" she says, thumbs fumbling against each other which doesn't go unnoticed by Matty. His eyebrows raise as he knows she's lying to him so he finally steps into the room, closing the door behind him and placing himself next to her, hands finding hers.

"What's up sweetheart?" He asks, pressing a kiss to her forehead. All her worries seem to drift away when he's there with her.

"Just nervous, haven't had an interview since... Well just after we finished the tour... And then 3 weeks later I was joining you... Haven't had much time to..." She pauses, thinking of her words.

"Haven't had much to think, have you love?" He finishes her words for her, and the pair nod at each other.

"I know what all of this means to me... What you all mean to me... But I'm not always the best at explaining it" she explains and he nods.

"Just act like you're talking to me hmm? Will that make it easier?" He says and she nods, smiling at him. Their lips meet in a gentle kiss before her laptop is ringing. Matty leaves the room then, telling her she'll be fine and to just think of him.

She then answers the call, smiling at the interviewer as they say their hellos and introduce themselves.

The interviewer quickly explains what they'll be talking about and then she sees the icon, letting her know it's now being recorded. She introduces the specific interview channel before introducing Lou.

"I'm joined by the wonderful Lou, who is currently touring with the 1975, how are you today?" she asks.

"I'm amazing, thank you! how are you?" She asks, a wide smile on her face.

"I'm great thank you. Lovely to have you here"

"It's wonderful to be here, over the internet" she says making the interviewer laugh.

"So you've been touring with the 1975 for over a month now, what's it been like so far?" She asks and Lou smiles.

"I am honestly having the best time, the guys are just the best and the fans are so dedicated and just lovely" she says, keeping her answer brief, not over revealing but telling enough.

"And you've known these guys, for a long time right?" She asks, Lou appreciates how casual the interview feels, she really doesn't like interviews which are too formal or have over complicated questions.

"Yeah I went to school with the guys. I've known George since I was born, our dad's are best friends. He's like furniture in my life now" she smiles.

"That's adorable. What's it like knowing them that long?" She asks, a smile on her face. You briefly reminisce on the time, smiling widely.

"I mean... They're like my family now honestly. I don't know what I'd do without them... And the truth is I haven't known anyone, apart from my family, as long as I've known them... And they're the biggest supporters of my career and always have been so it's been the best and I'm incredibly lucky to have them and to be on this journey with them" she explains.

"Now alongside knowing them for as long as you have, and being as close as you are with them, especially with George, you must have faced comments from fans and paps? Comments about relationships?" She asks and Lou nods.

"Yeah. Unfortunately that's always something I think is going to happen. Sometimes, I think especially with younger fans, they see two people as close as George and I for example, and they think they must be dating... And that's just not the case, I love all of the boys, more than I've ever loved anyone... But platonic relationships are just as important and... Real as romantic ones" she explains, the interviewer smiles at her, she looks down at her lap, presumably at her question card and her face drops slightly, she probably doesn't actually want to ask the next question but someone is making her.

"Everyone has been talking about it and asking about it, but you and Matty seem to be getting very close, as you've just said platonic relationships are very important but is there something else going on?" She asks the words with caution and Lou smiles at her, letting her know it's okay to ask.

She chuckles lightly before speaking "Um- Matty and I haven't always seen eye to eye but being on this tour has really helped that. I mean, spending every hour of every day with someone kind of forces that to happen anyway... But, he's really important to me, he's an amazing person and Um-" she smiles, and she thinks that will be enough to tell the fans what they need to know.

"Yeah he's just wonderful. I'm really loving being with him and the guys right now" she says. Her words don't fully confirm anything but they don't deny anything either.

"Great" the interviewer smiles widely before she continues talking "fans have of course been loving hearing you sing alongside the guys and hearing you're incredible solo in 'About You' but they're wondering when you'll be returning to your own band and doing your own projects?" She asks.

"Well I'll be on this tour with the guys until they don't need me anymore" she laughs "and then me and the band will discuss what we want to do in terms of touring. Obviously we had been touring and making albums since we were teenagers and all needed a bit of break"

The interviewer nods before Lou keeps talking.

"I didn't take much of break obviously because I started doing this" they both laugh "but that just explains my whole personality to be honest, I just need to be kept busy. However, I am working on songs and things whilst touring" she says.

"I'm sure fans will be very happy to hear that"

"I hope so"

"And will the boys maybe feature?"

"Maybe... I haven't asked them, but that would be cool. Our music is a little bit different from one another but I'm sure we could find some middle ground"

"Everyone's wondering about this next question, I've seen so many fans asking it, so what's your favourite song by the 1975 and is there any you don't like?" She asks and Lou smiles.

"Oh god that's hard... Honestly I don't think they've ever released a song that I didn't like... There's definitely been some ones where g has sent me the demo and I've preferred the demo" she says making the interview laugh.

"As for favourite... I'd say at the moment it's Frail State of Mind... Think it changes too much for me to say what my all time favourite is" she explains and the interviewer nods.

"And favourite to perform?" She asks.

"About you... Obviously" she then hears a loud ruckus coming from outside the room, the boys laughing uncontrollably about something.

"Sorry about all that noise" Lou laughs and the interviewer just shrugs it off, not minding in the slightest.

"One downfall about touring with this lot is they're mental, get up to all kinds of trouble" she says and she hears the door creaking open next go her, revealing both George and Matty.

"Don't let her lie to you, she's usually involved in the trouble" George shouts and Lou chuckles as she stares at the two men.

"That's George" she says to the interviewer.

"She's usually the one who starts all of the trouble" Matty then says, smirking at her, raising his eyebrows.

"And Matty" Lou says and the interviewer nods. The boys come to sit next to her, Matty placing a hand on her thigh which luckily cannot be seen by the camera.

"Hi" they both wave and the interviewer almost sits in shock.

"This was unexpected" she says, smiling at the two men as she waves back.

"Well, we were kind of missing Lou, this is the longest we've been without her so far" George says making the lady smile at the sweet sentiment.

But now I get to have her every day" George smiles "and she's fucking sick, an amazing addition to the band" George says, apologising for swearing which makes every laugh.

The interviewer looks and Matty then and his eyes shout to Lou and he smiles before talking.

"Yeah it's alright I guess" he jokingly says and they all laugh again "no it's amazing really. She fits in really well with the band which I didn't think would happen. She's just amazing really that's all I can say" Matty keeps it brief and simple and Lou appreciates it. She feels his hand squeeze her thigh gently and she smiles at him as her hand slowly (and discreetly finds his).

"What's the best part of having Lou on tour with you?" The interviewer asks and Lou's eyes flick in between both men, watching as they smile widely.

"Just having my best friend back to goof around with to be honest' George admits and it makes her smile widely and lean her head on his shoulder for a second.

"Hearing her sing and come up with her songs is pretty awesome" Matty says and her eyes find his, they smile widely at each other and Matty speaks her next words directly to her "she has this little notebook that she writes all her stuff in, and it's got all these pictures in it... Its nice to fill them with pictures of us" he says, there's a beat, a moment of silence before Matty looks back at the screen, eyes finding the interviewer who is smirking, he then and only then corrects his words.

"Us as in the band... Of course" he says and both George and the interviewer raise their eyebrows.

Of course when the interview is released fans go wild over every part of the interview, but that part sticks out and it just fuels the fire of speculation about their relationship.

This is a DN AU where Light never finds the DN. I will say it’s very heavy on mental illness and things like that, and ppl might find the content triggering so I would read with caution if this is the case for you. It’s a fanfic that I still think about to this day and that I’ve reread maybe 5 times in the last 14 yrs. Something about it rlly stuck with me and I still think about it all the time.

2) The Hinterland Doctrine aka Those Who Stand For Nothing Fall For Anything by Halfpromise both on ao3 and fanfiction.net

We all know where we were when this shit dropped lmfao. This is one of the most iconic death note/lawlight fanfics ever written and just so you’re aware, it’s almost 800,000 words. It has its own tv tropes article and everything 😂 I remember reading this fic in highschool and it had me fucked up in all sorts of ways. I’ve been thinking about rereading it bc I haven’t read it in years but I remember how much I loved it. It’s also an AU where Light is a politician, I’m not telling you anything else 🤫

3) motion picture soundtrack by lowlightt on ao3

this author…. This AUTHOR…. Nahhhhhh their writing makes me actually insane I’m serious. Me and my bestie kept sending their fics back and forth in our group chat and we were literally quoting the fics and going crazy until like 4am for multiple nights in a row 😂 see I’ll do it right now. IT’S VIOLENCE, THIS KISS! god that knocks the wind out of me 🤣

4) Drag You Down by chocomd on ao3

This is a Katara x Aang long fic where they break up and eventually get back together. I rlly love this author and I’ve read most of their works. I recommend all their stuff, especially Midnight Meditations and Without Water which are both one shots I believe? Don’t quote me on that tho

The only other fics coming to my mind are fanfics that my friends have written. Like I said, I don’t rlly read too much fanfic these days and when I do read them, I am very selective and picky about it. i adore girl! logan, like if she has zero fans then i'm dead! so seeing the update made my day amidst midterms season, so thank you!

but yes, i looooooove hearing logan's thought process and i also love how quickly she soaks in all the information that she is given. because logan isn't taken seriously and probably doesn't get the same attention from other people as her male counterparts. so i feel her hunger this chapter— that hunger for good advice especially from someone like jenson; that hunger to get her name out there by taking a chance with an upstart hire and her hunger to be on top of the podium. god, i am so excited for her to take the world by storm (even more because she is already an icon).

You’re right, if boy Logan felt kinda lonely and starved for attention, it’s unfortunately ten times worse for fem!Logan. She has to be a sponge in that regard, because even though she knows the future, she cannot say if the people that helped her along the way the first time, will do it this time around too. That’s why she hit up Nico, because she knew that since he’s that champion for women in sports, the likelihood that he would help her, would be high.

I don’t want to diminish the role he’ll play in the story, but he was a kinda fail-safe for Logan in the case Jenson would’ve said no. Again, with Jenson too, she knew the likelihood would’ve been high that he would help, but this Logans fail-safes have fail-safes have fail-safes. The prerequisite for her taking revenge at James is getting into F1 which is currently her highest objective.

Also, on the topic of Logan’s grid parents. You’ve nailed it completely. Nico has birthed Logan himself and he will not accept slander of any kind towards her. That’s his daughter for all he is concerned, the heir to the Rosberg dynasty, nobody will discredit her 💅And Jense is the quintessential proud father. He’ll do anything to make his daughter happy. I am aware that your current project is to continue on ever after high with all the cannon (mostly the cartoon I think, but I can assume the books count too? And maybe doll boxes/diaries? It’s a lot).

If there was one subject you would want to rewrite or remove from canon entirely, what would it be (challenge would be to not name the disaster that is epic winter).

And on a lighter note, favorite/stuck-on-repeat part of the series (I’m sorry this ask is so long, Idnk how to shorten things)?

omg no this isn’t too long at all i’m actually so thrilled to be given something this long to look at!

for starters, in terms of continuing ever after high, my thing is that i want to follow the show canon above all, but i do want to conclude a lot of the stuff touched on in external media such as books and dairies etc. though in doing so i’m not going to treat anything that doesn’t come straight from the show as something to abide by completely. because the show and the books and what not have inconsistencies in numerous ways, such as defining what a royal/rebel is, or characterization, or even the novelizations of the specials having alternate tellings of the stories. i don’t even want to really necessarily change anything mentioned in the books when adapting it so much as ADD to the information provided in ways that aid the story in which i aim to tell.

i.e. the evil queen turning raven’s puppy Prince into a bone rat. what about Nevermore? where was she? WHEN was she? well i think the evil queen could have perhaps, upon feeling remorse, secretly gone and sought out a dragon for raven, and brought Nevermore home without telling raven it was her doing, so that she would have a new pet companion.

anywho, as for your actual questions, for the first one, i’m probably gonna have to go with the whole sequence in Way Too Wonderland when they’re going from class to class. see, when i first watched it, i got this feeling they were going to go from class to class and in each one a different girl in the group would demonstrate their strong point in solving how to pass the class.

if not that, i think i’d change who got to go and do the whole storybook page thing in Thronecoming. i think it should have just been the core four + ashlynn there, really. and less of them could have opened the door for more time getting to see briar seeing what raven’s point of view is like when faced with the reality of her story.

on a more basic note i’d just go back and make sure everyone were not introduced to from the start is actually there. at least, there for Legacy Day. they don’t have to talk or do anything, it would just be nice to know they were THERE.

anywho, in regards to your other question, that’s a tough one. i mean, i have a few. basic answer is raven’s Legacy Day declaration. it’s just iconic and a real powerful moment that shapes the narrative. i love it. there’s also pretty much all of briar’s scenes in Thronecoming. (and obviously her snapping at apple moment. that shit’s too funny.)

BUT also when raven signs the real book in Way Too Wonderland and gets that dark magic power up. i’m a sucker for fight scenes and especially ones with extra narrative weight, so i always appreciated that one + the aftermath of it. and when apple declares raven as a hero. it’s great.

I’m shocked that the fandom is alive enough for you to post multiple times a day. My dash is nearly dry of anything sp related (besides this blog)

To be entirely fair, it is, like. Bursts of activity. That I try to prolong with the queue. And lately I've been having to fold back in older posts, try (painfully) to sort through my drafts, or make the content myself lol. I've also been trying to like.. loosen up on what I will and won't post, I suppose, 'cause in the past I've DEFINITELY passed some stuff up based on vibes or too loose an association, in my mind at least. If I see it these days, odds are fairly high it ends up here though! (Even if I am Grinding My Teeth as I do so /j)

But, yeah, people are still very much into Scott Pilgrim! People get in and out of things in waves; I've even seen some people post about just now getting around to Takes Off (without further context to know if that's their introduction or not, not that it really matters much I suppose.)

I think a lot of fandom discussion has possibly moved away from tumblr and more into discord communities, which is why you'll find a bit of a post shortage. (I base this on an. Apparently five hour argument that happened in a discord my friend's in about Scott Pilgrim characters. You don't want to know what about, probably 💀 but that's still 5 hours of Passionate Stances from more than two people! And that wasn’t even a SP specific discord, so far as I'm aware!)

That or people aren't taggin' their stuff ¯\_(･･)_/¯ which is always a possibility. I actually didn't follow a lot of people back in the initial Burst of fandom activity, so untagged/oddly tagged posts that might have been made that I otherwise would love to have here, are unlikely to end up here, most unfortunately. (This is part of why I encourage sending me stuff!)

But like, even just in the discords I am in, there's still activity. I know one person who is currently working on a new AU, for something more specific! And they're also still putting out headcanons now and again. And I'm personally still working on fics and more ask answers in the background, even if you might not see some of that for a while ^^'

Tell me about the red dress campaign!

I got into Anastasia in 2021 :( there's barely any fandom left and even those who write fanfiction for it don't even talk about it anymore!

Tell me everything!!!

okay so. to talk about the year two marketing campaign, we need to talk about year one first.

the year one campaign focused more on the ~journey~ aspect of the show. anya wears her iconic maroon traveling coat, facing away from the audience and generally faceless, very mysterious. who is she? where is she going? what is she looking for? it inspired questions actually relevant to the themes of the show. and, as good marketing does, it gives us just enough info to capture our attention while also leaving us wanting more.

this coat is what she wears on the posters, playbill covers, everywhere on the marquee. it's the same structure that carried onto every other production's marketing strategy. and it makes sense! because she's traveling! of course she wears a traveling coat. for her Journey.

was it a perfect strategy? no. do i get chills every time i read "rumor, legend mystery" on the marquee over our beautiful broadhurst?? absolutely.

now. year two. derek leaves in april 2018, and in may they film a new ad with the current cast.

but the whole marketing strategy completely changes as well. it now consists of basically just the Red Dress™ and digitally airbrushed christy smirking at the camera and otherwise provides very little information about what the show is actually about.

this is an aside, but i feel like i should mention that when they shot and filmed this campaign, they styled christy's actual hair. she's not wearing a wig! slay!!!!! she went live that day and zadkins did a takeover on the anastasiabway account, i remember she looked absolutely stunning and was excited as she always is.

but still. the success of your marketing strategy (or the whole show for that matter 💀) should not rest on this woman's shoulders, as lovely as she is.

so here's my beef with the Red Dress campaign: it's such a shallow interpretation of the show. even though the red dress is iconic and linda cho deserves the praise for it, i don't think it represents who anya is or what she's looking for at all. the stage version of anastasia isn't a rags to riches story, nor a princess story, not really. it's about a girl looking for who she was. home love family etc etc etc. the red dress represents a life she ultimately chose to abandon in the end! so by limiting the imagery to just this dress she wears only in the last few minutes of the show, casual audience members may interpret this show as Just Another Princess Story competing with frozen that had just opened literally across the street, and choose to not see it. which is exactly what happened.

@asecretshekept has written a lot about this and understands marketing more than i do, so feel free to browse her blog too for more detailed posts.

not to mention like,,,, the silly financial decisions behind this?? they spent so much money to replace the marquee and stage door with the faces of people who left the show like six months later?? and then they replaced the stage door AGAIN when cody arrived january 2019. so silly. they could've stuck with the generally faceless campaign of year one to avoid this issue, but. i'm not in charge.

Ten(ish) People I'd Like to Get to Know Better

Last song: My Spotify says its Kaunis Marjaana by Scandinavian Music Group. A very enjoyable song, I don't usually listen to it intentionally but always glad when the app algorithm decides to play it for me.

Favourite colours: Deep, cold purples (or violets - somehow I have the assumption that "purple" refers to a warm/reddish hues), the ones you'd associate with midnight. I just bought second hand this lovely pinkish purple suit, which ironically will be about the only purple clothing I own.

Last book: I just finished comic book by Hanna Koljonen called Syliinvaellus Intiaan (a Hugrimage to India). It was a pretty fun one. Also very close to finishing the novel Hiljaisuuden mestari by Miki Liukkonen.

Last fic: I prefer not to expose my fic reading tastes too much in detail but my AO3 says it was a smutty How to train your dragon fic...

Last movie: Disney's Tarzan. I think I had seen it before but after the rewatch I'm not too sure??? It was good, though watching it in 2024 is like... They could've done a couple of things differently....

Last TV show: Just finished the eight episode of Only Murders in the Building. The reference to A Few Good Men... iconic.

Sweet, spicy or savoury: I used to be sweet all the way but I'm starting to gravitate towards savoury.

Relationship status: Used to be "happily destined to be a hermit" but nowadays it's more like "destined to be a hermit" in a less joyous tone.

Last thing I googled: "Prisma käsivoide" (Prisma hand cream) because it's dry hands season and Prisma will provide.

Current obsession: This is not the answer my therapist would give but right now it's fragances and poetry by Sirkka Turkka, a Finnish poet. Got my paycheck yesterday and I went to Rituals to buy a body cream of their new Alchemy collection which has me under its spell, and also a mini perfume of their perfume line (though I'd like to have the Alchemy perfumes too...) Now I feel like expanding my fragance collection and also smelling what other people's perfumes smell like on their skin (I think it might be hormonal but I get so many whiffs of perfume that make me go "WOW" when I'm out and about).

As for the poet Turkka, I also got a volume collecting all of her poetry. I read Turkka's Tule takaisin, pikku Sheba (translated as Not You, Not the Rain - not a direct translation of the Finnish title) a while ago, and was absolutely taken by it. I had not previously read anything that would give ashape for the longing I feel deep inside me, and here it was, right in Turkka's poetry. In my darkest hours I sometimes look at the screenshots of her poems on my phone. So, reading through all of her work is my next endeavour.

Looking forward to: Man, I don't even know... There isn't much I've felt like is worth "looking forward to". Maybe finishing the poetry collection. And going back to therapy after my therapist's vacation week.

Capitano - with preload leaks of his identity and more on his goals and personality in 5.1 of Natlan, I don’t doubt he’ll be playable. There’s leaks of him having icons and a model with what looks like a Wrio/Neuvi model type. I know some have reservations and doubts like they did with wanderer because of what happened to Signora (😔) but he’s a very popular harbinger that will release sooner or later. If not in Natlan, then in future chapters. Remember we still have chapter “???” Which is likely Khaenri’ah and beyond.

Pierro - he’s a mixed bag for me. His eyes, tho blurry in the vids, are very clearly Khaenri’an. I want to say, yes, though. He seems to have a similar model to Neuvillette and Wrio. We just need to know more about him and I’m positive we will when snezhnaya rolls around.

Pantalone - famous voice actors? Oh, yeah. Ain’t no way they would not make J. Michael Tatum playable bruh. Fun fact: Takanori Hoshino is the Japanese voice of Mickey Mouse. Additionally there’s too much about him shrouded in mystery. The Pale Tlame artifact set hints to him being from Liyue and holding a grudge against Rex lapis. He was speculated to be poor and is now extremely rich with the Fatui. There’s much potential there and he’s another husbando many would be excited for (myself included bc gottdayum he’s attractive lol)

Pulcinella - uh, as much as it’s cool to have a possible new playable model, I just don’t really see it happening.

Dottore - while I’m not the biggest fan of his I totally get why people enjoy him. With that said I think one of two things will happen. He will be playable either way because he has the tall male model but anyway. One of which I and many hope is that he stays a villain and is playable anyway. Morally grey characters are cool but straight up villains can be better. We don’t need every character to have redeeming qualities you know? Or second, the original dottore isn’t playable but a segment of his will be. I’m really hoping for the first because unless the second option is done right, I think it’s a lazy way to make a character playable and an excuse not to have actual villains in the game.

Columbina - another mystery character like is she a seelie a celestial or even some sort of Angel or creation? Very curious. She’s unnerving in all the right ways and I see her having the short girl model. Angel type characters fascinate me because religion in anime tropes can be so creepy and I love it lol

Sandrone - another one I’m unsure of. If she is, then I think she’ll also have the short girl model and be at the least morally grey. A Fontaine side quest (the one with the missing bird at the journalism place) at the end spoke about her torturing, cutting out the tongue of one of her subordinates for failure, and leaving a note in his mouth for us to read so that’s nice /s. If she is playable I hope she’s also a creepy type who is unapologetically a villain too

Additionally there is no 10th harbinger I’m pretty sure. It will be interesting to see if that position becomes filled in the future. Most all these characters are pretty popular tho so I don’t see a reason HoYo wouldn’t capitalize on making them playable at some point.

Gonna get this out of the way: that Spongebob joke killed me. Talk about elevating the source material. Admittedly I never really liked the original joke. I got it, I just didn't find it that funny, but barely-censored Sponebob running in screaming "YEAAAAH!" was so absurdly jarring that I couldn't help but absolutely lose it

After that, I don't really feel like I have too much to say about this episode. After five episodes, I feel like I've more or less adjusted to the Yuki Yase style, and we're not really seeing anything too new or different being tackled. I worry that my reviews are going to start getting pretty samey, since all I can really do is note how well the style fits specific scenes

That said, there were three standout moments that I have opinions on

The first was Andy's Crimson Waxing Moon, which I was very impressed was such a dynamic tracking shot rather than, again, recreation of the still from the manga. However, I was still hoping to see a recreation of the manga; the ending pose of Andy spinning through countless cut-up corpses is one of the many iconic visuals that I so love from Tozuka's compositional style, so while the anime's completely original take on it is vastly more interesting than the basic alternative, it came at the detriment of what I was hoping to see - Tozuka's paneling brought to life. I don't feel like I have the ability to fairly judge the quality of the scene we got because of this; I'm sure it's fine and even by most standards really good, I just can't help but feel that there's an extra bit of oomph that's missing that would have made me think it was great

What I did really love though was how they portrayed the spoil countdown. It was fairly simple, but I just liked seeing how they conveyed the visual and how it seemed to speed up when the kids thought they were going to be killed. The fact that the digits were kind of hazy was a nice touch, when they could easily have been solid numbers

Finally, the introduction of Spoil really did elevate it over the manga; where in the original he just kind of popped in and we cut straight to the chapel having already been destroyed, here we got to see the whole sequence. It was just as ominous as I wanted it to be, and it really made Spoil feel like that much more of a threat. Plus Andy's Crimson Cross was animated very well too; that one did match how it looked in the manga while still putting in additional touches like the blood spattering on the windows. That whole sequence really makes me excited for the upcoming battle

I did notice that this episode didn't stop at adapting two chapters, it siphoned a scene from ch.13 and put it before the conclusion of ch.12. I get the feeling that we can expect episode 7 to end around the middle of ch.15. I won't spoil (ha) what scene I'm predicting to be the endpoint, but basically I'm expecting to get through two stages of the Spoil battle and leave it off just before or at the transition into the third

Overall, the pacing is much slower than I expected it to be in my estimates, and we're currently a full episode behind my initial prediction. If my current prediction is right, then we'll actually be two episodes behind next week. I'm kind of meanly glad that that one reddit thread was just as wrong as I was, though, and it seems extremely likely that neither of our predictions for the end of the season will be correct. By current estimates, I'm expecting that we'll get to around ch.52 or 53, as that segment gives a really good conclusion+cliffhanger combo. Someone suggested that recently, but now that I'm looking for that post/ask, I can't find it for some reason, so apologies to that person for not crediting them

Before I sign off, does anyone have any opinions on me putting content tags on these reviews? In my manga reviews, I use them to telegraph which characters or worldbuilding elements that I'll be focusing on, but since the anime reviews are just comparing the episodes to the chapters anyway, is there any need for me to point out what I'm going to say? It kind of feels like I'm repeating myself, like anyone would know what to expect from these and that they're self-explanatory. Should I remove the content tags from the anime reviews going forward, or leave them for the sake of consistency?

Initial thoughts on chapter 4 based on the poster.

Name of the arc is cool (and as someone who read BNHA, the fact we got a "Rising" chapter is pretty fun, since that series also had a pattern of important chapters having "rising" in their names).

Chapters have lasted two cours so far, so this one will probably last until the end of March. Which would make for a total of at least 23 episodes for chapter 4? I took into account the break we'll have at the end of the year since the anime is off at that time usually, and I guess we could also have another break somehow for some reason.

Liko looks so cool wearing Lucius's belt! She hasn't worn it since ep 26... I wonder if it's just for the poster visual, or if she'll wear it more in actual episodes.

I don't know if Basagiri are supposed to have scars on them but this one has one on its arm. Is it a situation similar to Lapras? Did something happen to the Six Heroes and some of them carry the scars even now? Either way, looking forward to seeing their personalities because I genuinely liked what they've done with the Pokemon so far (Rayquaza being genuinely an interesting figure who makes me want to learn more about Lucius).

Hogator evolved and so did Kanuchan. Not surprised since the current arc is all about growing etc, but still cool to see payoff! I guess Hogator will evolve during the last ep of chapter 3 then? To parallel Nyahoja evolving during the climax of chapter 2. Liko and Roy are going to battle according to the title for the last episode of September, so it could happen there.

Still funny to see Cap in the middle, all like "look at me" ww Which makes me think that it's actually pretty amazing that the current arc barely featured Pikachu, since Friede wasn't around as much. Like yeah, we had the seminars and Cap always appears there but not in the episodes themselves. Maybe that's why the current opening for this arc features him prominently for the last shot, like "I'm the mascot" ww Anyway, just a thought I had. It feels like they could be slowly moving away from having to feature certain aspects of the franchise all the time etc. I like Pikachu and respect him for carrying the franchise on his small back all this time, but I'm also thinking that Horizons handles the starters the best because the current trio of starters are all the kids' first Pokemon and are clearly meant to fit their designs/respective arcs (Nyarote fitting Liko's character arc and personality, Welcamo meant to push Dot etc) and every single one of them feels special for this reason. They are written to be special. Some of the past starters didn't really leave an impact on me... anyway. Horizons giving the "iconic" Pokemon to Friede was the best choice since he is the mentor character (Cap being there to guide the kids and help them grow stronger etc).

I love that the new characters we'll see are all women (I wonder who their VAs will be??). As expected from Horizons, my favorite shoujo anime. How will Horizons implement these characters in its own storyline. I'm not big into seeing the game characters in the anime if they divert focus from the original plot though. As long as they are there to push forward the original story (Lucius/Six Heroes etc), then it's fine. Horizons has been good with this so far, but I'm still a bit cautious.

Very much looking at Amethio on the right, who is looking back.. towards the main characters potentially? Also, it means they are not hiding the fact that he is appearing in this arc. Also looking at Friede. Hope he appears more in this chapter. I can't live off seeing him only in the seminars. And of course, pointing at the fact that Friede and Amethio's shard things are on opposite sides... Does this mean they'll cross paths again? I hope so, it would be neat.

Anyway, just thoughts for future reference as usual etc. I'm looking forward to the new opening and ending, and the visuals we'll get.

Not having a fun time work-wise so I'm gonna keep my sanity here by giving my last-minute Survivor predictions for the Castlevania chapter in Dead by Daylight.

My serious predictions for the Survivor: Alucard and/or Richter Belmont

It's gotta be one of them. Alucard is iconic and, like... THE Castlevania character. And Richter was in multiple games, one of which with Alucard, and is in the current Netflix show. The DBD license is specifically for the games alone, but I think the Netflix boost indirectly also makes him likely.

They also both have several cosmetics options to go for. Alucard can have SotN, CV3 (lol), Judgment, the Genya Arikado disguise (LOVE that one ❤️), etc. Richter has his very 80s headband from Rondo of Blood, the longhair look from SotN, and (my favorite) the Dracula X Chronicles look that is kinda the most similar to the Netflix show design.

I could also see Richter + Maria (SotN specifically) as a Survivor pair, if the chapter comes with two Survivors like the Resident Evil ones did. In that case, Alucard would work well as a Legendary skin and it'd be the whole SotN crew.

Soma Cruz is a darkhorse pick here too though! He starred in two games, one of which is widely considered a close second best of the Metroidvanias to SotN, is very memorable given his connection to Dracula, and has a modern aesthetic that might fit DBD best. I'd be very happy with him getting in as well.

...I just hope it's NOT Simon Belmont. Yeah, he's the original Belmont (as far as game releases go, not chronologically in-universe), but who really cares about him lol. Also I'm shallow and hate the barbarian design he has in the old games and Smash Bros. At least give him the BDSM redhead look from Castlevania Chronicles or something if it has to be him. But he'd be literally the single most disappointing-yet-realistic pick for me.

Now, for my less-realistic, personal wishes for the Survivors? I looooooove Leon Belmont, and his design is so fantastic, god I love him.

He's the chronological first Belmont and even got a little nod in the Netflix show, so I think he maaaaaaybe could have a chance as a Legendary skin at least? I'm a big Lament of Innocence fan (2nd favorite Castlevania), I would go so nuts for that.

And my other dream picks (that are less likely) would be Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin as a Survivor pair! Portrait of Ruin is my #1 favorite Castlevania and I played the hell out of that game. Loved those two and their dynamic, they were such a fun little pair. And I like the red/blue color palette they bring (and Charlotte has one of my favorite designs in video games tbh, she has such a cute outfit).

They could also have some new Teamwork perks (or whatever the Thalita and Renato ones are called; I kinda forget because nobody uses them lmao). And lobby lines for each other of "Jonathan!" "Charlotte!" because those little voice clips are seared into my brain forever.

Not really much they could do cosmetic-wise though, unless they had alt costumes in whatever that one iOS-only mobile game is. I guess they could do a wedding dress for Charlotte (from the one unlockable armor set in that game, even if it didn't change her sprite) and maybe Jonathan could get an outfit inspired by his dad's in Castlevania: Bloodlines?

Dracula is obviously going to be the Killer so I'm not gonna speculate on that. I do wonder what his chase and terror radius music will be like, though! Will they get Michiru Yamane to do the music like they got Akira Yamaoka to do the music for Pyramid Head? Hopefully it's good, like... you've GOTTA have good Castlevania music, it's like a staple of the series.
