Summer List 2024
Welcome to the absolute worst time of year! Rather than ranting about exactly why this is the worst season (ie. sweating into the sheets as you sleep, the buzzing of mosquitoes near your ears, the awful body odor of strangers too close to you on the subway), there may be just a few things that can be enjoyed this time of year. Unexpected summer rainstorms, late sunsets, ice cold pools, sandal tan lines, frozen pina coladas, absolutely all of the produce in season and children that you love not having to go to school. And best of all - eating as much heirloom tomato toast as humanly possible.
So let’s try to get through these next three months as best we can until the sweet scent of September arrives. Here’s the plan.
Go to a carnival.
Eat the soft serve at either Seed + Mill in Chelsea Market or at L’Industrie.
Get out of town somewhere fun to celebrate our 15 year anniversary.
Go swimming at least five times.
Make this truffled garlic bread with ricotta.
As always, I beg you to make a list of your own. If you’re looking for some ideas, here are some past summer lists I’ve made: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015.

winter assassin outfit
#zeno's art#ocs#reassassination#octavia krankenstein#oh i got a LOT to say about this one#in the comic octavia starts wearing this outfit after a certain event i think n its very symbolic#it represents mainly how her personality has changed as well as her relationship with kranken and humanity as a whole#lets do it top to bottom. FIRSTLY the mask that replaces her goggles that she wore in the “summer” outfit#the mask represents several things. firstly that octavia's relationship with kranken improved#i think the mask itself is probably kranken's and octavia uses it. showing that they've become closer#and ALSO even using a mask to hide her identity while working is in line with kranken's ideas of clothing being practical rather than flashy#(see her first outfit was originally really frumpy and practical before she DIY'd it into the minidress type thing)#anyway. the hoodie is supposed to harken more to an executioner showing octavia is more used to her job#the hoodie has eyelets which are circles. the fact that there are way more circles in the design shows that she becomes less cold#and more assimilated into human society#the gloves however are a sign of her persistent rebellion as they're fingerless and impractical lol#the pants are based off of tripp nyc's design. which was popular with mallgoths in the 90s/00s#it shows octavia's own personality and interests and of course has two hidden sets of 6's through the eyelets#lastly her shoes resemble skulls. that one's just for fun#while her first outfit completely represented rebellion i like to think this one bridges the gap between rebellion and octavia settling down#and becoming more familiar with those around her#this is only the first pass so i'll prob incorporate more red into the outfit before it's finalised#octavia isn't the only one who changes either! i want like ~3 changes for almost everyone

i wish i had a good excuse to just like go and spend 2-3 days in another city across the country
#sasha speaks#the most i've done on my own is a day trip into nyc#which is fun but you can only do so much in one day esp when your train is close to 3 hours one way#i want just like. two days in atlanta. three days in chicago. three in sanfran. yknow.#hell i'd take two days in nyc or boston that would be fun#i've spent one full day in boston before with my mom and that was great but it was sort of an appendix to a trip with a different primary#purpose (bringing my sister back to her college). i've spent two days in pittsburgh with my mom once too but that was when i was doing#college search myself so like more than half the time was dedicated to touring campuses#i've been to nyc twice Totally on my own once to go to a museum with my beloved mutual and once to take my sister to an embassy#to get a visa for her study abroad trip. my parents were like 'escort her to and from the embassy and then back on the train#and then you can stay the afternoon and do whatever you want. just get a train home in the evening'#which was fun i went to a museum and then did some market and bookstore shopping#but one afternoon does not a Proper trip make yknow#also goes w/o saying i would love to do the same thing for cities in other countries but. y'know. that's More Difficult#and i've seen very little of my own country in the grand scheme of things...i've only been out west twice and i didn't see very much either#time :( san diego when i was like 9 and then crested butte co last summer. which was beautiful and so much fun but also i got covid there s#anyway. shutting up now#i wanna talk about me

My campaign is verified and added to the Gaza Donations page with number 192.
Thank you for documenting my campaign from the following accounts:
@sar-soor @heba-20 @el-shab-hussein @90-ghost @soon-palestine@ibtisams @marnota @riding-with-the-wild-hunt @i-am-aprl @northgazaupdates @fallahifag @fairuzfan
I love you all 🙏🙏♥️🌹
I am Mohammed Almanasra, 32 years old, married, and a father of three children: Abdulrahman, 6 years old, Sarah, 4 years old, and Lina, 3 years old.
My story began with the loss of my parents and four of my sisters, who were bombed and lost their lives along with their children after the events of October 7 and the severe war on Gaza. Now, I am facing a severe injury to my leg, which is at risk of amputation if I do not receive the necessary treatment. My wife, children, and I are displaced, without parents or siblings, and my wife is also suffering from uterine cancer.
Recently, I moved to the south of the Gaza Strip, fearing for the lives of my children. We left behind our memories and our new home, for which we had not finished paying the installments, in addition to losing my job. Currently, I live in a tent that does not protect me from the heat of summer or the cold of winter, and without the minimum necessary livinng basics including water, food medical care, clothe and even bedding .
I suffer from a chronic asthma and severe attacks from tightness and an extreme allergy in the ear and I need medicine that are not available, or very expensive .
Under these difficult circumstances, after five attempts at displacement and narrowly escaping death from the bombing, I am trying with all my might to protect my family, the most precious thing I have.
My dreams were shattered, and my house was destroyed, and I found myself living in a tent no larger than 4 square metres. My work turned from a tailor to a street vendor in order to barely buy a few crumbs of bread to feed my children.
Look at what happened to my children because of the intense heat and the insects that thrive in the summer season. Every day, I take them to the hospital to treat them due to poisonous insect bites. I implore every kind-hearted soul to help me protect my children.
My son, Abdul Rahman, has a deep passion for playing football and is a devoted fan of Real Madrid. He always dreamed of playing football at his school, but the war prevented this dream from coming true.
Where are you, Real Madrid fans ?
Help Abdul Rahman achieve his dream.
Every donation will make an enormous difference in helping me save my family.
I feel very sad and embarrassed to ask for help, but I have no other options left. I know that this request is difficult, but I also know that there is still humanity and living consciences and I believe in miracles.
Your support during this extremely difficult time will give us hope in the midst of devastation and despair.
If you have any inquiries or questions, feel free to ask me, please!
To everyone with a compassionate heart,
To all who understand the essence of humanity,
This is a message from my innocent children, who trust that their words will reach everyone who truly understands the meaning of childhood.
We cry out to you, asking you to feel our sorrow and pain, and to extend a helping hand to us in this time when we are in desperate need of your mercy and compassion.
My name is being repeatedly added to many public and private donation campaigns. Please, be a support for me in this difficult situation.

A Day At The Long Island Aquarium
New York is lucky enough to have more than one aquarium to visit for those interested in the sea- we are surrounded by ocean water, after all. Although the New York Aquarium is definitely more accessible for those visiting New York City, the Long Island Aquarium is accessible both by car and by public transportation- the Riverhead Long Island Railroad stop is only a 15 minute walk away! I’ve…

Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry
Above Photo: American Museum of Natural History, NYC
Whoever pitched this idea to the American Museum of Natural History needs a raise. Especially since I can’t remember the last time that this museum had a new exhibit that I was actually excited about. Don’t get me wrong, I love that giant whale and the almost-pitch-black room with the stuffed birds (please god don’t ever update that wing), but it’s pretty rare that the Natural History museum has an exhibit that people really anticipate.
The exhibition is included with a general admission ticket, so you really have no reason not to check it out. Here were my favourite pieces.
Above Photo: Biz Markie Nameplate necklace, 1986
In love with the font.
Above Photo: Flavor Flav Clock pendant, 1988
Okay, that clock is literal history.
Above Photo: Ghostface Killah Eagle arm band, 1990s
Absolutely love how over the top it is.
Above Photo: T-Pain Big Ass Chain necklace, 2000s
Honestly, genius. So funny and probably the best of the collection.
Above Photo: Cardi B Nipple covers, 2022
Perfect.
Above Photo: Tyler, The Creator Bellhop necklace, 2021
Jesus, that’s beautiful. Maybe I’m not wearing enough gold. Really reassessing my look after coming here.
The exhibit runs until January 5th, 2025.

Obviously the submarine situation is hideous, but it has shocked and surprised me over the last few days how much sympathy the whole world has been showing the situation, which made me wonder why I was so surprised by ya know basic human sympathy and I think it’s because there are so many hideous disasters happening every day that people just write off, say that’s too bad oh well if they say anything at all. It’s sad that people caring about a bad thing happening has surprised me so much.
#reminds me of when nortre dame burnt down#Like oh you have the capacity to care about bad things it’s just been selective huh#when everyone in nyc got hit with smoke Americans were aghast#Meanwhile that has been every summer here since at least 2017#It’s awful. And no one’s doing anything about it and people just accept it like its normal#To not be able to see the sky for days or even weeks

You Asked for Things to Do in Nyc this Summer,—and Here's What We Recommend
In this week's blog post, I choose to share some interesting information about my street summer time in America and Jamaica. Queens Brooklyn Bronx Manhattan I'm going to share with you a little bit of my teenage life, coming from the Jamaican islands which hold different cultures of all types of nations. You will have to change your way of movement. Learn more about the big city. I love music most of my teen life. I go wherever it is happening. Backyard parties and indoor clubs were my play ground. This was the time before the big internet and social media. The police did not understand that we were smoking cannabis and drinking. Many people were out in the party. If you will see women dancing with men. No smartphone was around. We had home phones and call boxes. We set a time and meet up to party the next morning.
New York City Caribbean party night I talk it live. I remember taking an African American woman and asking her for a dance. She did not know how to move to the base of the beats. I noticed they grew to love the dancehall reggae music over the years. They learned how we Jamaicans talked and how we vibe. Big respect to all my Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan women who love the sound of reggae. Summertime here in New York is my best time to see women show off their bodies. If you play your game right, you might find yourself in love with an American woman or another natural beauty nation.
when you are in New York City. Running around when the sun comes up in the summer, if you are into going to sea, do a search on Google. If you choose to go, be on your best behavior and follow the rule.
Summertime dating and meeting women in New York I like taking a woman to a reggae stage show if they are not Jamaican. I introduce them to Jerk Chicken, Roots drinks, and real high grades. Sometimes road trips are fun to do if the money is right, or you can just take the train or drive to Manhattan on forty-second street, where you have a Boardway live show. outdoor movie clubs life, however you choose it, is up to you.
