Hi again can you do Headcanons and Preferences for Julian Casablancas ? I never found nothing about him, I would really love + the way you think and write it's perfect!
Of course! I love doing these. By far my favorite things to write! Also thanks for the support and request!!!! <3
Headcanon and Preferences ๐ฉโก๐ช (Ft: Julian Casablancas)
๐ฉโก๐ช= Smut
เฉโฉโงโห= Fluff
โ โ
= Angst
๐ฉโก๐ช = Headcanons
Always sings for you
Tries to take you on tour but you always say no
Playing with his hair is a constant
You wear his leather jackets
He always wraps his arms around you
He's unbelievably funny
He's also very wise and mindful
You could talk to him for HOURS
Sleeps face down like a corpse (haha, I'M SORRY)
He's insecure about his lips (thinks they're too thin)
He always snuggles his head in your chest
You make fun of his style a lot
Gets jealous easily
Pouts when he's jealous
He doesn't know it but he has MUSCLES
Radiates gentlemen vibes
HE IS VERY CHIVALROUS
Does everything for you like opening car doors, carrying you to bed, etc
He makes funny faces when alone with him
LEAVES HICKEYS EVERYWHERE ON YOUR BODY
Speaks so many languages
Loves touring
Eats so little (it concerns you)
He drinks and smokes (which you hate)
Wears nice black boots with tank tops
When he wears belts, it kills you
Chugs energy drinks
Draws a lot but also writes song lyrics a lot
His smile is everything
Flirts with his fans
Has the funniest stares when he looks at you
You sometimes help dye his hair
Very medium-sounding moans during sex
HOWEVER, he is very good at doing oral
His tongue is a skill
Him fingering you drives you crazy ( อกยฐ อส อกยฐ)
He sings when he's alone
Gets slightly embarrassed when you hear him sing
Has a lot of vintage music stuff like a CD player and records
Would wear fake mustaches to make you laugh
He loves to make you smile or laugh
Holds your hand when you're scared
Piggyback rides are common
He may be insecure about his lips but he is a good kisser
Loves eating dessert
Would choose sweets rather than an actual meal
Loves comedy films and watches them with you all the time
Hates studying and books (thinks they're for nerds)
Also hates going shopping but does it for you
He can be very mean sometimes
He makes fun of you like how you make fun of him
Playfully pushes you and hits you
Always fake cry when you slightly hit him
He always wears funny T-shirts
Also loves Disney movies
Has an undying love for Mickey Mouse (LMAO)
Makes his own loom bracelets
You mock him for having a shirt that looks like a mechanic would wear
His morning voice is so hot
Rides his bike but he sometimes falls off it
Great with babies but terrible with kids
He tries to act like an older brother in front of kids
He acts like a father with babies
Overpacks while traveling
His nails are always clean and neat
Has crooked teeth but it's okay
For some odd reason, he loves playing golf
Hates cold weather
Always looks like a grandma when the weather is cold
He gets sick easily
You steal his necklaces and bracelets
His favorite vacation spot is NYC
Speaks fluent French
Speaks French to confuse you
He's kinda dumb but you always teach him
He loves music class
Has strong political views
Loves learning about philosophy
Loves learning about space and planets
Has glow in the dark stars around his bedroom
Has the weirdest decorations in his room like a rocksalt lamp and stalker-like pictures of you
His favorite animals are lizards
He tries to skateboard but he keeps falling
Lastly, he kisses you a lot on the lips, cheek, chest, and much more. He also tries his best to make a better life for you. He talks about marriage a lot with you.

Susie Romero's Bike Tour of San Marina
If anyone's wondering why I didn't put out a splashy YouTube trailer of San Marina before the release, it's because it would've delayed the world even further. I still intend in putting something out but in the meantime, here is a video of one of the residents of San Marina, Susie Romero, doing a bike tour of almost every sub-hood.
youtube
I was inspired both by soocoolsim's collection of videos doing walking and taxi tours, as well as my own days as a cyclist. Back when I was younger and much more fit, I used to ride in and around NYC, so making this video took me back. ๐

The MTAโs latest congestion pricing scheme: Charge runners for crossing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
The transit agency is waging war against the organizers of the New York City Marathon, demanding $750,000 to make up for toll revenue lost during the iconic race.
And if New York Road Runners doesnโt pay up, the agency is threatening to restrict use of the bridge, potentially reducing the number of runners who can compete in the wildly popular event each November, the New York Times reported Wednesday, citing internal memos.
During hardball negotiations, the MTA initially said runners โ who start the marathon on Staten Island โ would only be allowed to use the darker lower deck of the bridge for the 26.2-mile race if organizers donโt pay up.
Officials backtracked slightly, though, in recent weeks by saying marathon organizers could have their pick of the upper or lower level for the race โ but not both, according to the memos.
The marathon, which is expected to draw 50,000 entrants for this yearโs race, has used both decks of the Verrazzano Bridge for the past 36 years.
New York Road Runners isnโt caving to the MTAโs demands.
They have argued theyโll have to likely restrict the number of entries going forward if runners are banned from using both levels. Otherwise, the raceโs duration will have to be extended โ meaning the bridge and local streets will be shuttered for longer to allow all runners to complete the race, according to the memos.
โNew Yorkers love Marathon Sunday, but taxpayers cannot be expected to subsidize a wealthy nongovernment organization like the New York Road Runners to the tune of $750,000,โ the president of MTA Bridges and Tunnels, Catherine Sheridan, said in a statement.
โThe MTA is prepared to continue working toward a final agreement with the NYRR, provided it leads, over time, to full reimbursement for the lost revenue.โ
In 2021, New York Road Runners started paying some personal costs tied to shutting down the bridge for the marathon. For last yearโs race, the group said it forked over $150,000.
Separately, the MTA has also demanded Bike New York โ an organization that uses the bridgeโs bottom level during its annual Five Boro Bike Tour each May โ to cough up, too.
It wasnโt immediately clear how much Bike New York has been ordered to pay, but the transit agency threatened to ban the group from using the bridge if it doesnโt agree, the Times reported.
News of the negotiations emerged a week after the MTAโs board approved the controversial congestion pricing plan to slap drivers with a $15 toll to enter Midtown Manhattan below 60th Street.
The MTA has long argued the increased tolls will generate billions for much-needed transit and railroad upgrades for the cash-strapped system.
The tolls on the Verrazzano Bridge, too, subsidize the Big Appleโs subway and bus system.

If you are planning on fleeing a red state, here is my pitch for moving to Chicago
I am a lesbian and a lifelong Chicagoan and I fuckin love it here. I grew up here, went to college here, and now live here as an adult, and I have no plans to leave. Despite being the 3rd biggest city in America, Chicago gets weirdly overlooked a lot and many people have never even been here.
If you are fleeing a red state because you're LGBTQ+, a woman, or an immigrant, here are the reasons I think you should move to Chicago:
We're a super queer-friendly city with several historically queer neighborhoods (that are actually affordable enough to live in).
Illinois has literally never voted red in my entire lifetime. That's the entire 21st century so far, btw.
We have a looooong history of fighting for abortion rights, even helping women get care before it was legal (google the Jane Collective).
Although there are red counties in the more rural part of the states, the blue influence of Chicago spreads far beyond the city's official borders. Chicago has such a large network of sprawling towns around it that still feel like a part of the city that we have a name for it: Chicagoland! So even if you're not a city person, you can find lots of more rural spaces within Chicagoland.
If you can't stand the idea of living too far from nature, never fear: there are tons of gorgeous nature preserves around Chicago! I grew up in a suburb where both the city border AND a forest preserve were a bike ride away.
Illinois has a great governor, J. B. Pritzker, whose response after the recent election was "To anyone who intends to come take away the freedom, opportunity, and dignity of Illinoisans, I would remind you that a happy warrior is still a warrior. You come for my people โ you come through me."
We're a very diverse city with a large immigrant population. (Fun fact: the only city with a larger population of Polish people is Warsaw.) We have many localized ethnic neighborhoods all over the city. Which ties into my next point...
We have amazing food! Seriously, Chicago is super overlooked as one of the best eating cities in the country. I can find literally any cuisine from any country somewhere in Chicagoland, and we have everything from 3 Michelin star restaurants to hidden gem counter service spots with the best tacos al pastor you've ever had.
We have very strict gun control laws. Unfortunately, people get around these laws by going to Indiana to buy guns (thanks a LOT, Indiana), but the extra hassle means that there are actually fewer guns here than in red states and no one can open carry.
Chicago has a $15 citywide minimum wage and has plans to phase out tipping in restaurants (replaced with higher salaries).
We have really amazing museums like the Art Institute of Chicago (widely considered to be one of the best museums IN THE WORLD), the Field Museum (home to the most complete T-Rex ever, our beautiful mascot Sue), as well as a great aquarium, modern art museum, planetarium, and so many more I can't list them all. And they all have free days for Illinois residents!
We have great public transit. I don't own a car, most of my friends don't own a car, and we can get around just fine.
We never have hurricanes because we're a LAKE city, baby. We do have tornados but they rarely hit the actual city, they tend to stay out where there's more open space.
Cost of living is lower than other major blue cities like San Francisco and NYC
We have two baseball teams so that's double the baseball
Broadway shows frequently do a premier in Chicago before they open in NYC so we get a lot of huge musicals here. I've gotten free tickets to shows that later went on to tour the country.
Unlike SOME other large blue cities I could mention, we know how to put our trash in DUMPSTERS instead of IN THE STREET.
Giant bean
Your life will change after you've had a juicy Italian beef sandwich with hot giardiniera.
And finally, to address all the stories about Chicago being a crime-ridden warzone, here's the deal: they are simply not true. Where do those stories come from? It's simple: Chicago has a historically large black population and we're a liberal city. Racist republicans have convinced themselves that this means we must be a haven for crime. We have the same amount of crime as any large city, which is to say: far less crime per capita than in rural red areas. Seriously, look it up.
Not only is Chicago not the most dangerous city in America, we don't even make the list of the top 25.
But the thing is, those lies about Chicago actually kind of work in our favor, because it means that Republicans are too scared to come here. My own grandparents haven't visited in 10 years because they're convinced that if they do they'll get shot or something.
Anyway, move to Chicago, it's great here. And it'll probably be one of the safest strongholds for whatever comes in the next 4 years. If you're also from Chicago and have any other points I missed, please add them!

Thotcrime has announced their first headlining tour. This tour not only is their first tour together but one with all members present. This was due to the band having members in the united kingdom, Illinois, and philly all at the same time contributing and recording in their bedrooms sometimes doing tours with half the band in one city and some in the other.
Now that thotcrime is signed to Prosthetic Records they can have a real lineup tour.

MOVIES I WATCHED THIS WEEK (#189):
Starting with some re-visits โป๏ธ: That Obscure Object of Desire was Luis Buรฑuel last erotic film. Old businessman Fernando Rey falls in love and becomes mortally infatuated with a young flamenco dancer, who leads him astray. It's a story of uncontrollable obsession, and a dysfunctional power struggle between them. On the one hand, it's a straight-forward tale of murky motivations, told in a masterful, fluid style. On the other, there are little nuggets of dissonant surrealism: There's some old man carrying a burlap sack, going in and out of scenes without explanations. Or, Conchita, the elusive tease, is played interchangeably by two different actresses, Etc.
๐ฟ
RIP, Gena Rowlands X 2 - (Incredible photo Above).
๐ฟ "You, banana, you..."
A Woman Under the Influence, hers and husband Guy Woodhouse's most acclaimed work together. A painful tour into the mind of a lonely housewife whose behavior is just a bit eccentric, and who maybe suffers from a bi-polar disorder. Peter Falk, her simple construction worker husband, loves her, but lacks the skills to deal with her, and her existential anguish eventually turns into a nervous breakdown. The general understanding of mental health in 1975 wasn't kind to 'differently-behaved' women, so no wonder she was misdiagnosed, committed and underwent electroshock therapy. A powerful performance that was hard to watch.
๐ฟ After this early clip of the taxi shoot-out, I also had to see Gloria. One of John Cassavetes' more commercial attempts, it was a strange neo-Noir bland of 'Running from the mob' action thriller, and Gena Rowlands as a bad-ass ex-girlfriend of Tanzinni the mafioso. The backstage of Late-70's NYC is fascinating to observe.
๐ฟ
2 Bizarre Buck Henry-related shorts:
๐ฟ Buck Henry had an amazing career. In 'Gloria', he's playing the mob accountant whose killing jump starts the plot. I only discovered Kiss Kiss Fingerbang (2015) because it was the 85-year old Buck Henry's very last (cameo) role, and I only watched it because of the unusually-provocative name. But this erotic story about a girlfriend who likes it 'that way', was just plain stupid. [*Female Director*]
๐ฟ I miss Sonia Henie was a strange 'Yugoslav New Wave' diversion from 1971. Eight directors, including Duลกan Makavejev, Frederick Wiseman (!), Paul Morrissey, Miloลก Forman and Buck Henry were each tasked with coming up overnight with short avant-garde segments. Each was to be less than three minutes of film footage inside a bedroom with static shots that contains the phrase 'I Miss Sonja Henie'. The results were, as expected, experimentally-weird. The best part actually was the ending clip of the fabulous Norwegian ice skater dancing to the tune of 'The Blue Danube'. Still it was worth watching. (This is my second film by Slovenian Carpo Godina).
๐ฟ
Close - The sad story of two 13 year old boys who love each other, but break up their friendship when their new classmates call them a "couple". Incredibly sensitive acting by the two boys. A subtle story, where nobody's able to express themselves in words, and in spite of the obvious affection that everybody has, nobody tells anybody 'I love you'. There are two themes that repeat: The flower fields, and the long bike rides home. And the breaking point, when one of the boys learns that tragedy struck, is at 44:00 min. in - exactly one hour before the end of the movie. 10/10. Re-watch โป๏ธ.
Extra: Found a good video essay about the inability to communicate in the movie.
๐ฟ
2 with Alice Lowe:
๐ฟ "Make Sanford Great Again!"...
I've watched Hot Fuzz a dozen times or more in the last few years, but it's never enough. Everything I felt and wrote about it before is still 100% accurate. So now I notice new, tiny details. F. ex. how cute is "Tina", the Supermarchรฉ announcer - "Mr. Skinner to the manager's office. Mr. Skinner to the manager's office." But really, every single actor here is absolutely perfect. The bloopers. I can't wait for Edgar Wright's 2 new films. 10/10. Another re-watch โป๏ธ.
๐ฟ In Innocence (2019) Alice Lowe stars as a policewoman investigating a suspicious falling death, but except of the fact that it's a facility for patients with Downs Syndrome, and the main actor is one, it's doesn't stand out.
๐ฟ
2 more with 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes:
๐ฟ Big boys is a surprising coming of age story with a different twist. A shy, overweight 14-year-old boy, who's both ordinary and self-conscious, falls for his cousin's older boyfriend, while on a camping trip in Lake Arrowhead. It's told in a careful, hesitant, nearly European tone. Awkward and heart-felt, sweet and wholesome. ๐ฏ score on Rotten Tomatoes. 8/10.
๐ฟ I could only watch รma Gloria in the original French-Portuguese without subtitles, so I missed some of its subtext. Still it was powerfully sad and deeply moving. A 6-year-old girl, who lost her mother to cancer, is being taken care of by her Creole nanny. The nanny must return to her native Cape Verde, and the girl is allowed to come and visit her. The little girl who plays the part is truly incredible in the role. The trailer. 9/10.
It's another of the sub-genre of 'Domestic Workers' ('Roma', 'The second mother', 'The maid', 'Oli Ilo', 'Lina from Lima', 'The chambermaid', so many others.) [*Female Director*]
๐ฟ
Ali Abbasi was born in Iran, and moved to Denmark about 15 years ago.
Holy spider is his grim police procedural based on a true story of an Iranian serial killer. It's like Fincher's 'Zodiac', except that the location is the dirty, primitive and oppressive "Holy city" of Mashhad. The killer is a family man but also a fanatical religious nut, who takes on a mission to cleanse his city of poor, drug-addicted prostitutes. The murders are chillingly ugly, but the rest of the story is captivating. 8/10.
While waiting for his anticipated Trump biography 'The Apprentice', I am going to watch the 2 other features he directed, 'Shelley' and 'Border'.
๐ฟ
Let's Go with Pancho Villa (1936) was long considered to be one of the 'greatest Mexican films of all times'. It's a different anti-authoritarian and epic view of the 1910 Revolution. But it didn't speak to me. ยกVIVA MรXICO!
๐ฟ ย
"The flower had not had a fair chance to bloom in the garden of life. The worm of poverty had entered the folded bud and spoiled it..."
Shoes (1916), my 2nd by silent pioneer Lois Weber (after โSuspenseโ). A poor young working girl, struggling to support her family on her meager salary, desperately needs a new pair of shoes, as her only pair literally fall apart. In desperation she 'sells her body', just to survive. A strong feminist message in a sad, realist settings. It was added to the 'National Firm Registry'. [*Female Director*]
๐ฟ ย
4 more from the 'Miu Miu Women's Tales' Series:
๐ฟ "The men are coming! Cover up, everyone! Cover up!" My first film from Saudi Arabian, The Wedding Singerโs Daughter (2018) by Haifaa Al-Mansour, one of the first female filmmakers from over there. Set in 1980, separated from the men, a group of female guests prepare the music and dance for a fancy wedding. Lovely.
๐ฟ Brigitte (2019), the only Lynne Ramsay film I haven't seen before. It's not the best of the bunch, but still fabulously artistic. A documentary portrait of portrait photographer Brigitte Lacombe in her rustic, cavernous photo studio.
๐ฟ Le Donne della Vucciria (2013), by my favorite Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass ("Marcia Roy"), and featuring my favorite Lebanese actress Lubna Azabal. An impressionistic Mediterranean mood piece about a dressmaker and a puppet-master, a group of singers down at the Piazza, a Vespa ride by the promenade when the morning comes. 8/10.
๐ฟ Shangri-La, a poetic confession of forbidden love between a Filipina woman and her white farmhand lover, (who's disguised as a catholic priest). Set up during the Depression, when such relationships were illegal. So-so. [*4 Female Directors*]
๐ฟ
Timor's show (2016) is an interesting Israeli documentary. Timor is a 37-year-old naive emigrant from Russia, who works as a lowly dishwasher. In Baku he studied music at the academy, and he has a lovely baritone voice. But then he decides to put up a recital in a real concert hall, where for the first time in his life, he will sing in front of an audience some of his favorite arias. [*Female Director*]
๐ฟ
2 horrible stinkers:
๐ฟ "Good luck, shithead"... First watch: Stupid B-monster survivor film Tremors (1990). I did finish it, but with difficulties. Why was it so awful, when all it wanted was to copy Jaws-5 but with Sand Worms instead? 1/10.
๐ฟ "Who wants some head?"
I can't believe that by now I've seen two movies with John Cena (The first one was 'Barbie'). What is wrong with me?!
But really, the only reason I watched the new "near future dystopian" Jackpot is because it was made by Paul Feig, who directed 'A simple Favor', my all-time favorite Anna Kendrick guilty pleasure. However, this one-note "action-comedy" was spectacularly dreadful. I hated myself for watching it. 1/10.
And now I read that 'Favor 2' is already filmed, and everybody of the original cast, including 'Darren' to 'Detective Summerville' are repeating their roles, and that fills me with dread. I hate sequels!
๐ฟ ย
4 short westerns by Michael Brian Rawlins:
๐ฟ Michael Brian Rawlins specializes in writing, directing and starring in light Western shorts (?). His The Dentist (2020) is the better one. Here he plays a traveling broke dentist being held up by a highway robber with an infected tooth. A perfect meeting.
๐ฟ The Deputy (2017) is more of a one big action scene, told in modern style.
๐ฟ In Two outlaws, a marshal forces two outlaws to play Russian Roulette against each other. It ends when they are both hanged by their neck, while Lakmรฉ 'Flower Duet' is playing in the background.
๐ฟ Rivals too is in a similar vain, a romanticized vision of kids playing 'cowboys'. The whole thing is like a clean Disneyfied tourist version of what a modern western should be.
None of these though is as good as The Gunslinger!
๐ฟ ย
The Fleischer Brothers X 3:
๐ฟ Dizzy Dishes (1930), the very first cartoon with an appearance by Betty Boop. Primitive line drawings, still trying to figure out that new media.
๐ฟ Any Rags (1932) about a garbage man, collecting anything he can, then selling it.
๐ฟ Hold it (1938) is one of the Fleischer Studio's 'Color Classics' early use of Technicolor in animation. A bunch of cats against one sleeping dog.
๐ฟ
3 by Illustrator Nate Milton:
๐ฟ Viewfinder (2023), an excellent impression of precise memory packs of what it meant to be a teenager in the 90's.
๐ฟ In Eli (2020), a boy is being interrogated at the City of Providence Psychiatric Hospital as to why he's there. The answer has to do with magical raccoons, meteor craters, government secret facilities, music and the evolution of all matter. 8/10.
๐ฟ Tank (2012), a simply-drawn story of a boy who finds a giant salamander. One of his 9 Vimeo Staff Awards film winners.
His shorts are also pretty dope. F. Ex. this 1986 interview with Miles Davis...
๐ฟ
3 More Shorts:
๐ฟ To scale: Time was made by a couple of friends to demonstrate how long is it since the Big Bang. They constructed a 4.3 miles stretch of lights in the Mojave Desert, and our civilization is the last few inches...
๐ฟ Casino Moon (2012), my first by the other-other-other Coppola, Gia Coppola. A cute Vegas roulette dealer falls for a young loser at her table. What does she finds in him, is hard to see, but then I can't stand members of the Schwartzman clan myself (Except of mamma, Taila Shire, of course). Gambling cliches + Wong Kar-wai vibes. Not bad. [*Female Director*]
๐ฟ Cockatoo v human: Who will win? The opening-rubbish-bins arms race between cockatoos and humans. From the Australian documentary series, The Secret Lives Of Our Urban Birds.
๐ฟ
Throw-back to the Adora Art project: ย
Buรฑuel Adora.
๐ฟ ย
(My complete movie list is here).

2015 VoicePlay summer & fall round-up
In between a two-month tour in the spring, and a two-month Disney World residency in the winter, VoicePlay had a variety of shorter adventures, video shoots, and some very important time at home with friends and family.
.
Can't stop, won't stop
The day after they got home, they released the music video for "Stay With Me" that they'd recorded and edited while on the road. Then just two days later they hit the stage again for a single show. Once they'd gotten a few more days of rest, they gathered at Layne's studio to tape an interview for the Behind the Mic podcast.
.
Ahoy, moms
Then it was time to hop on the Royal Caribbean Oasis, the first of multiple gigs with multiple cruise lines they'd booked over the coming months. They disembarked for a week at home, during which they spent Mother's Day morning performing for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. A few days later, they set out again on a Disney Magic cruise up the east coast to Nova Scotia, which gave them a day off in NYC while the ship was in port.
.
Family time
After that gig was complete, they took a couple well-deserved weeks off. Most of the guys flew straight home, but Layne went back to New York to meet up with his longtime girlfriend and her daughters for some family time. While they were on a bike ride in Central Park, he staged a fall and proposed. Yay, love!
[NOTE: I linked to the video and family photo of Layne and Cyndi's engagement rather than embedding them, because the kids were young and deserve to not have images that show their faces pulled into public spaces their parental units can't control. But do feel free to click through, because both are very cute.]
.
On the seas again
Once the guys were rested up, VoicePlay climbed aboard their third ship of the summer, the Celebrity Summit, for a jaunt to Bermuda. On the way out, they crossed paths with Kathy and her band, Soul Funktion, who were performing on a different cruise.
On the downside, being in the Caribbean meant that they missed out on National Doughnut Day, which is something they generally enjoy, being the snack conoisseurs that they are. On the upside, they returned home to some exciting milestones on their YouTube channel โ lucky sevens followed by many zeros.
.
Long-term planning
They had two more weeks at home to do prep for their next video shoot. And then they spent a long night at a local pizza parlor with several family members and friends to create a characterisitically silly three-part saga as a promo for their upcoming Patreon launch. During the next few weeks, they started editing those videos while also preparing to hit the road again.
Meanwhile, Eli did a solid for their friends in The Edge Effect and hopped on yet another cruise with them. That favor would turn out to be rather fortuitous. The other guy subbing with the group for that trip was a talented baritone/bass named Jessie, who Eli would remember the next year when an opportunity arose. (Ooh, foreshadowing. ๐)
.
Oh, Hi! Oh.
In mid-July, VoicePlay headed north once more for a pair of shows in Ohio, first at the Fraze Pavilion in Dayton, then at the Lake Chautauqua Auditorium in Port Clinton.
Dayton show โ photos by Leslie Tidd
Port Clinton show
(On the way home, Geoff matched pitch with the airport security equipment in true music nerd fashion.)
.
Homebodies
Then they dispersed for a couple weeks to do individual things. Earl spent some time doing "a little puppet show with friends" at Disney World. Geoff and Kathy worked on some home renovations. Eli and Ashley spent some time with his family in Pennsylvania, then swung through D.C. and New York City on their way home. Layne relaxed at home with some TV bingeing in between wedding planning. And Tony did mysterious Tony things. (His socials are all private.)
.
Ready for their close-ups
At the end of the month, they took another trip to Bermuda on the Celebrity Summit before spending most of August and early September working on new music videos for "Cheerleader", "Summer Hits 2015", and the long-awaited "Phantom of the Opera". Not to mention the ongoing Patreon preparations.
.
Quick jaunts
As fall rolled in, VoicePlay rolled out once more. They opened the performance season at Texas A&M, popped down to Florida's gulf coast for a show in Treasure Island, flew up to Baltimore to attend the Performing Arts Exchange conference, and then scooted into D.C. to perform for a Red Cross event at the Smithsonian. In between trips, Earl and Layne sat down to share some wisdom about keeping fueled on the road.
.
Stein nuptials
And then it was time for Layne and Cyndi's wedding! The gang was all there to celebrate, complete with extended family and friends.
(Fun fact: Tony made Cyndi's wedding dress. She was the very first PattyCake princess.)
.
While she was in town for the wedding, Emoni Wilkins spent a day at Disney World with Earl and Nick.
.
Back at it
Once Layne was back from his honeymoon, the guys got on a plane to San Diego and boarded the Disney Wonder for a cruise down to Puerto Vallarta. A week after they got home from sea, they headed inland to give a concert and student workshop at the University of Wyoming.
In mid-November, they finally announced their Patreon, and proceeded to meet their first two goals in less than a week. Clearly, they timed that well.
.
Happy (early) holidays
While they were celebrating that victory, though, their other projects kept going. In particular, they had started their first of three annual residencies at Disney World for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which kept them pretty busy for most of the end of the year.
.
They did make time for a few other things, including some full holiday concerts, several more video shoots, their regular theme park shows, and visits from friends. Earl and Nick continued their tradition of hosting visitors by helping Tim Foust and Adam Chance speedrun the parks before Home Free's holiday show in Orlando. Layne got an exciting birthday present when he found out he was going to be a dad. And Geoff fulfilled a childhood dream by subbing in with Rockapella for their New Year's Eve show in Vegas.
.
Once the end of the year whirlwind was finished, they took a few days to finally rest before they hit the road again. But that's a tale for another post.

English Translation
Jimin on the things that make him โJiminโ
Jiminโs world is transparent, yet solid. Vogue Korea had a heartfelt conversation with Jimin on 13 different topics.
Being the New Face of Tiffany & Co.
โI feel truly honored to join Tiffany & Co. as its new brand ambassador. Iโm always excited by new encounters and challenges. Theyโre what keep me grounded, giving me a sense of responsibility. I look forward to building a mutually positive partnership with the brand in the coming days. Most of the time, I prefer going with simple outfits and styles, and the โTiffany Tโ Collection I got to wear for the latest photo shoot with Vogue Korea caught my eye. I really like how cool and chic they look.โ
FACE, My First Solo Album
โI tried looking deep within myself and being as honest as possible with this album. Much of itโs based on my own experiences, but I hope everyone who listens finds it relatable and comforting. Iโve said somewhere that the songs RM wrote for his solo album,ย Indigo, which was released late last year, made me want to go for a bike ride. If you listen to RMโs album while cycling to your favorite coffee shop and then listen to my album while youโre there, itโll be a perfect day. I promise!โ
An Unforgettable Moment in NYC
โI still vividly remember our performance at the Citi Field stadium in New York City, in 2018, during BTSโ Love Yourself tour. It was a massive concert. I still get goose bumps thinking about how over 40,000 fans from all over the world came together to sing our songs with us, all in the original Korean lyrics. Singing and dancing along with our fans is what I want people to think of first when they hear the name BTS.โ
My Idol
โI had a chance to be featured in โVibe,โ the new single by Taeyang [a member of K-pop boy group BigBang], whom Iโve admired ever since I was a little kid. This collaboration brought us face-to-face for the first time, and I was delighted to learn that my idol was even cooler than Iโd imagined. I want to follow in his footsteps. The collaboration also gave me a chance to reflect on the solo album I was working on at the time as well. No, I didnโt ask Taeyang for any advice about my album. Iโd rather just play it to him once itโs finished.โ
What I Tell Myself
โI try to always be conscious of the fact that Iโm truly lucky and happy because Iโm surrounded by people who help me shine, including the other members of BTS, the groupโs staff and crew, and my fans. The more I tell myself this, the more encouraged I feel. I get an incredible amount of energy from the combination of the sense of responsibility I have as a BTS member, the happiness I get from spending time with my groupmates and the gratitude I feel toward my rock-solid fans.โ
Being Truthful Through โPromise,โ My First Composition
โI wrote this song back in 2018 as a promise to myself that Iโll never forget the countless people who love and support me in every way they can. As thereโs been quite some demand from fans who still remember and like the song, I decided to officially release it as a single before putting out my solo album. I hope more and more people will listen to it.โ
The Power of Music
โI wholeheartedly agree when people say BTSโ music emphasizes how much more we should love one another and try to be inclusive in this world. I find a lot of comfort and courage in what the other guys have written and sung about as well. I think the greatest strength of music is its power to comfort us. Donโt you think so?โ
Being Talented at Everything
โAs a pop artist, I want to excel at both dancing and singing. I also want to perform a diverse range of musical genres and themes instead of sticking to just one type. Of course, Iโve learned over the years that itโs neither healthy nor productive to push myself to be perfect in everything. I want to show my fans only the best, but I also have to take a healthy, sustainable approach.โ
Chapter 2 for BTS
โIโm rooting for my groupmates in their new solo careers. Now that weโve set sail separately on these new adventures, I canโt help but feel anxious and terrified from time to time. In those moments, I think of my fellow group members and try to find strength in them. Seeing the other BTS members find their calling and try to develop themselves further, I naturally feel inspired and motivated to achieve my own goals as well, until the day we all meet again.โ
Going Slow and Steady
โI believe in order to last longer and go further, whether in running or in your career, you need to be patient. Youโll reap rewards for making it through the tough times. Some hardships have made me a much stronger person, while others have taught me to be much more flexible. I try to keep my own pace as I navigate all these experiences.โ
RELAXING
โIโm grateful to my friends because we share ordinary, everyday moments โ not just momentous occasions. I donโt need anything else when Iโm in their company. Iโm happiest and most comfortable when Iโm eating with them, having silly conversations and laughing.โ
Friendship With ARMY
โIโve been friends with these fans for a full decade now โ not a short span of time by any measure. Perhaps itโll take more time before we can understand each other completely, but weโve been together long enough to understand and support one anotherโs thoughts, feelings and needs. The more time Iโve spent cultivating these relationships, the more important I feel the members of ARMY have become to me.โ
What I look forward to most right now.
โIโm most curious โ and also most excited about โ how far Iโll go with my first solo album. I ask fans and supporters to stay by my side as I embark on this new journey withย FACEย and as a brand ambassador of Tiffany & Co. I tell myself, โFighting*, Jimin!โโ
*An expression used in Korea that means something like โYou can do it!โ or โKnock it out of the park!โ

New York City, often referred to as "The Big Apple," is a bustling metropolis brimming with iconic landmarks, diverse neighborhoods, and a rich cultural tapestry. For first-time visitors, the sheer number of attractions can be overwhelming. To help you make the most of your visit, hereโs a detailed New York City travel guideย to must-do activities that will immerse you in the true essence of NYC.
1. Marvel at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
No visit to New York City is complete without seeing the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and democracy. Hop on a ferry from Battery Park to Liberty Island, where you can take a tour of Lady Liberty herself. Donโt forget to visit the pedestal or even the crown for breathtaking views of the city skyline.
Next, head to Ellis Island, the historic gateway for millions of immigrants. The Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration offers insightful exhibits about the immigrant experience and the diverse cultural fabric of America.
2. Stroll Through Central Park
Central Park, an 843-acre oasis in the heart of Manhattan, is a must-see for first-timers. Take a leisurely walk or rent a bike to explore its many paths, gardens, and iconic landmarks, such as Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge, and the Central Park Zoo. For a unique experience, consider a horse-drawn carriage ride.
In winter, the park transforms into a snowy wonderland, perfect for ice skating at Wollman Rink. During the warmer months, enjoy a picnic on the Great Lawn or a boat ride on the lake.
3. Experience Times Square
Times Square,ย often called "The Crossroads of the World," is a dazzling spectacle of neon lights, giant digital billboards, and bustling crowds. Visit this tourist attractionย at night to witness its full vibrancy. Be sure to explore its many attractions, including the Broadway theaters, where you can catch a world-class show.
For a birdโs-eye view of the square, head to the top of the red stairs at the TKTS booth, where you can also score discounted tickets to Broadway shows.
4. Visit the Museums
NYC boasts some of the worldโs best museums, and visiting at least a few is a must. The Metropolitan Museum of Art,ย or "The Met," houses an extensive collection spanning 5,000 years of art. Donโt miss the Egyptian Temple of Dendur and the rooftop garden with its spectacular views of Central Park.
The American Museum of Natural History is another New York City tourism siteย featuring fascinating exhibits on dinosaurs, space, and human cultures. The Hayden Planetarium, part of the museum, offers immersive space shows narrated by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
For modern art enthusiasts, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum are essential stops. Both museums feature works by artists like Van Gogh, Picasso, and Warhol in architecturally stunning buildings.
5. Walk the High Line
The High Line, a unique urban park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattanโs West Side, offers a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. This 1.45-mile-long park features beautiful gardens, public art installations, and stunning views of the Hudson River.
Start your walk at the southern end of the Meatpacking District and head north toward Hudson Yards. Along the way, youโll pass through Chelsea, known for its vibrant art galleries and trendy restaurants.
6. Explore the Neighborhoods
New York City is a patchwork of distinct neighborhoods, each with its own character and charm. In Greenwich Village, stroll along the quaint streets lined with brownstones and visit Washington Square Park. In SoHo, indulge in some shopping at high-end boutiques and art galleries.
Explore the best places to visit in Chinatownย for an authentic cultural experience with its bustling markets and delicious cuisine. Little Italy, right next door, offers a taste of Italian-American culture with its cozy cafes and restaurants.
For a taste of the cityโs hipster culture, visit Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This neighborhood is known for its street art, indie music venues, and artisanal food markets.
7. Cross the Brooklyn Bridge
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a quintessential New York City experience. This historic bridge, completed in 1883, offers stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. Start your walk from the Manhattan side and head towards Brooklyn.
Once you reach Brooklyn, explore DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), a trendy neighborhood known for its cobblestone streets, art galleries, and waterfront parks. Grab a bite to eat at the famous Grimaldiโs Pizzeria or enjoy a scoop of ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.
8. Taste the Diverse Cuisine
New York City is a food loverโs paradise, offering a vast array of cuisines from around the world. Start your culinary journey with a classic New York bagel topped with cream cheese and lox. For lunch, grab a slice of pizza from one of the cityโs many pizzerias.
Head to Katzโs Delicatessen on the Lower East Side for a pastrami sandwich thatโs been a local favorite since 1888. For dinner, explore the cityโs diverse neighborhoods and their authentic eateries, from the dim sum in Chinatown to pasta in Little Italy.
Donโt forget to indulge in some street food, such as hot dogs, pretzels, and halal carts, which are quintessential New York experiences.
9. Enjoy the Skyline Views
For some of the best views of the city, visit one of its iconic observation decks. The Empire State Building offers a classic view from its 86th-floor observatory. For a more modern experience, head to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, where you can see Central Park and the Empire State Building.
For a different perspective, visit One World Observatory at the top of One World Trade Center. The view from the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere is nothing short of spectacular, offering a 360-degree panorama of the city and beyond.
10. Catch a Live Performance
New York City is synonymous with live entertainment. Beyond Broadway, the city offers a plethora of performance venues. Visit Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts to catch a ballet, opera, or classical music concert.
For a more intimate experience, head to one of the cityโs many jazz clubs, such as the Blue Note or Birdland. The Apollo Theater in Harlem is a historic venue where you can enjoy everything from R&B to comedy shows. You can find last-minute Broadway tickets in NYCย from VisitNYC.com at a discounted rate!
11. Visit Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum
Pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial, located at the site of the former World Trade Center. The two reflecting pools, set in the footprints of the Twin Towers, are inscribed with the names of the nearly 3,000 victims.
The 9/11 Museum, located nearby, offers a moving and comprehensive account of the events of September 11, 2001, through artifacts, testimonies, and multimedia exhibits. Itโs a solemn but essential part of understanding the cityโs recent history.

New York Attractions to Visit: A Personal Guide!
When I first stepped into New York City, I knew I was in for a treat. The city's energy is palpable, and the sheer number of things to see and do can be overwhelming. Whether youโre a first-time visitor or returning to explore more, there are some key spots you just can't miss. Hereโs my guide to the New York attractions to visit that you absolutely need to include in your itinerary.
Problem: Overwhelmed by Choices in New York City
Deciding where to start in New York can be tough. The city has so much to offerโiconic landmarks, world-class museums, sprawling parks, and vibrant neighborhoods. With limited time and so many options, it can be hard to decide which attractions to prioritize. Trust me, I've been there, trying to make the most of every minute without feeling overwhelmed by the options.
Agitation: Missing Out on Must-See Spots
There's nothing worse than leaving a city and realizing you missed out on its most famous landmarks. I didnโt want that to happen in New York. I wanted to make sure I hit all the must-see spots, the kind that make you feel like you truly experienced the heart of the city. Missing these would be like going to Paris and skipping the Eiffel Tower. I needed a plan to make the most of my visit.
Solution: My Top New York Attractions to Visit
Here are my top picks for New York attractions to visit, each one offering a unique glimpse into the cityโs character and charm:
1. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
No trip to New York is complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty. I took the ferry from Battery Park, which costs around $23 for adults. The ferry ride alone offers breathtaking views of the skyline. Once on Liberty Island, you can climb to the pedestal or even up to the crown if you're up for it. Ellis Island is part of the same trip, and the Immigration Museum there is a powerful reminder of America's diverse history. Itโs a two-for-one deal, both educational and awe-inspiring.
2. Central Park
After the hustle and bustle of the ferry, I found Central Park to be a perfect escape. Spanning 843 acres, this park offers everything from tranquil lakes to open fields. I rented a bike for $12 an hour and cycled through the various paths, stopping at Bethesda Terrace and Bow Bridge. If youโre into movies, youโll recognize a lot of filming locations here. And the best part? Itโs free to explore, making it perfect for budget travelers.
3. Metropolitan Museum of Art
Next, I headed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or "The Met." Itโs one of the largest and most prestigious museums in the world, and the suggested admission is $30 for adults. I spent half a day wandering through its vast collections, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to modern American art. If youโre pressed for time, I recommend the highlights tour that focuses on the must-see pieces.
4. Times Square
Times Square is known as "The Crossroads of the World," and for a good reason. The neon lights, massive digital billboards, and constant buzz of people made me feel like I was in the center of the universe. I spent an evening there just soaking in the atmosphere, grabbing a quick slice of pizza from one of the many shops, and watching the street performers. Itโs free to visit, but the experience is priceless.
5. Brooklyn Bridge
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was a highlight of my trip. This iconic bridge spans over a mile, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. I started on the Manhattan side, taking my time to enjoy the skyline views. The bridge itself is a marvel of engineering, completed in 1883, and the pedestrian walkway offers some of the best photo ops in the city. The walk is free and only takes about 30 minutes, but I recommend taking your time to fully appreciate the scenery.
Conclusion: Make the Most of Your NYC Trip
New York City is vast, and its attractions are endless. From the historic to the contemporary, thereโs something for everyone. If youโre planning your visit, make sure to include these top New York attractions to visit. Each one offers a unique taste of what makes this city one of the most exciting in the world. Trust me, you wonโt regret it!

Navigating the NYC Dating Scene: Tips and Trends for Modern Romantics
Dating in New York City is an experience like no other. With its diverse population, endless activities, and unique neighborhoods, the city offers a myriad of opportunities for singles looking to make meaningful connections. Whether you're new to the city or a seasoned New Yorker, understanding the dynamics of the local dating scene can help you navigate it with confidence and success.
The NYC Dating Landscape
New York City is home to over 8 million people, making it one of the most vibrant and diverse cities in the world. The dating scene here reflects that diversity, with people from all walks of life and from all corners of the globe. This richness offers a wide range of dating experiences, from casual encounters to serious relationships. However, the sheer size and pace of the city can also make dating feel overwhelming. Understanding the key aspects of dating in NYC is essential for success.
Key Trends in NYC Dating
Online Dating Dominance: Like in many urban areas, online dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge dominate the NYC dating scene. The fast-paced lifestyle of New Yorkers means that these apps are often the most convenient way to meet new people. Understanding how to create a compelling profile and how to navigate these platforms effectively is crucial.
Activity-Based Dates: In a city that never sleeps, traditional dinner dates are increasingly being replaced by activity-based outings. Whether itโs a visit to a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, a food tour in the East Village, or a bike ride through Central Park, New Yorkers are choosing dates that allow them to experience the city together.
The Challenge of Scheduling: With demanding careers and busy social lives, scheduling dates can be tricky in NYC. Flexibility and understanding are key, as finding a mutually convenient time can often be a challenge.
Neighborhood Niches: The cityโs diverse neighborhoods cater to different dating vibes. The trendy cafes of Williamsburg might appeal to the hipster crowd, while the upscale bars of the Upper East Side might attract those looking for a more traditional dating experience. Understanding these neighborhood dynamics can help you choose the best spots for your dates.
Tips for Successful Dating in NYC
Be Open-Minded: The cityโs diversity is its strength. Embrace the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. Being open-minded can lead to unexpected and enriching connections.
Stay True to Yourself: With so many options, itโs easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of the NYC dating scene. Remember to stay true to your values and what youโre looking for in a partner. Authenticity is key to building lasting connections.
Make Time for Dating: In a city thatโs always on the go, itโs important to prioritize dating if youโre serious about finding a partner. Be intentional about setting aside time to meet new people, whether through apps, events, or mutual friends.
Embrace the Experience: Dating in NYC can be exhilarating, challenging, and sometimes frustrating. Embrace the highs and lows, and view each experience as a step closer to finding the right person.
