In a general and objectively fair fight who'd win... Edolon , Pozzol and Talald or sober Gamzee ?

AUSTINWYNN: Gotta be real here? Team Culitst would pretty easily fuck up Sober Gamzee. Gamzee has durability, but the only reason he could kill Equius and Nepeta was a) Equius's highblood superiority fetish and b) element of surprise. He is strong but he doesn't do one v ones well. See: Kanaya bisecting him or his bisection in Caliborn's masterpiece. I think people overestimate Gamzee's capabilities a lot. Edolon, though, as we've seen, literally has a durability factor akin to Gamzee due to his doom alchemy. Not just that, but his ability to decay and disintegrate would simply ruin Gamzee. Not to mention Pozzol's sheer strength and fury outclassing a 13-16 year old Gamzee's.

I also just think Talald outclowns Gamzee.

AUSTINADO: yeah i agree with all of austinwynn's assessments here. gamzee does have an advantage purely due to narrative circumstances but that's solely because he's plot relevant for juju stigmatisms and timeline wraparounds. even playing field? no chance. double juggalo backbreaker? pozzol wouldnt even give him the time of day

i just woke up so i haven't actually watched the pokemon direct thingy yet, but i heard they mentioned they aren't pushing out another console release at all for 2024 and if that's true then frankly THAT news is way more hype than any actual game announcement could ever be. go girl let us wait!! this is genuinely what i've been begging for for years now

I opened Pinterest for the first time in months.

That made me realize a lot about how bad I was actually doing and how much of a Waffle House Index use of Pinterest is for adult me, apparently.

I hadn’t realized it had grown that foundational to me in a healthy-brain-exercise-and-hobby-joy way. Nice to know moving forward! It’s another sign I can keep track of and use to spot correlation/indicator patterns earlier my behavior.

Tbh some days are harder than others! I like to think I’ve gotten a lot better at simply not logging on when I expect there to be those sorts of posts - also making sure that the blogs I follow are the only ones I wanna see on my tl. Sometimes, like earlier today, I just channel my energy into making gifs and only come on tumblr to post those and leave lol

Obviously, I still see stuff if I go looking in his tag or something slips thru the cracks, and some days I write out a whole rant and then delete it (it can be v therapeutic just to type your feelings, even if you never post it). Also having someone/people who I can talk to about it can be pretty helpful. Or even revisiting a Carlos thing that makes you smile! I’ll sometimes just go thru his tag on my blog and inevitably something silly he did will make me laugh and I feel (mostly) better 😂❤️

Other than that, I think just recognizing that everyone’s opinions are just that - opinions! Pro sports is one of the areas in life that people can be the most opinionated/vocal/vitriolic about online but it’s bc it inspires such passion in people. Personally, I like to channel my passion for f1 in positive ways - it makes me a happier person and it’s the whole ‘be the change you want to see’ in the fandom philosophy haha

SO many feelings about him omgg rant under cut please forgive me

okay so i don't really talk or draw him much cause honestly,,,most of the times i just think he's a bit....boring? or more accurately plain? not in a mean way either but just in a 'fades into the background' type of way like don't get me wrong!! he's a really nice friend to his peers, his feelings about his powers and aura making his relationships harder to navigate and trust along with his whole conflict with nightmare and morality about what's good and bad IS very cool!! and i love it whenever they write him to be complex and not on this black and white mentality or when he's just straight up following along his friends with no free will or with a dubious purpose without ever addressing his issues or feelings! it's just unsatisfying to me :')

or when they're making him the 'naive' and oblivious, (sometimes childish?) character being marked as the obstacle and villain along with the other star sanses from the fic's pov, always talking about doing good things while fighting his brother and not hearing him out about the balance, (and for weak reasons most of the time. like it's been so long and you STILL haven't sat down with him when he's, generally, basically begged you to just have a talk? guys please :'( ) or when they go for the victim sad dream always missing the old nightmare, where corrupted nightmare is the incarnation of evil, with no sympathy or emotion except anger and sadistic glee, killing and hurting everyone and dream's just trying to protect the multiverse and dream's always been in the right. such extremes!!!

LIKE!! i hope i'm not the only one that thinks a 500+ year old should have had enough time to idk. learn things? about people and manipulation and deceit? after knowing what the villagers did to night? about the bad things in the world and how there's a lot of grey areas in life and that he maybe reflected on his past enough to process and ask himself if there should to be a convo to settle his differences with nightmare (and you can make nightmare the stubborn one too! or have them BOTH be petty and imperfect and have some things wrong and some right at the same time like why do i always see the good guy vs bad guy cliché with these two when they're the perfect example of why positivity doesn't have meaning without the negativity!! as long as there's a satisfying evolution or growth that doesn't leave me empty i'm good yknow?)

plus i believe dream really isn't as dumb as people view him. i do get some of you saying he probably can't read or write since that's actually a pretty interesting idea to explore! but in general please let him have emotions other than pure sunshiny happiness or endless sadness like he's gotta have more depth than that! let him make mistakes, have flaws that don't just make him the bad guy that's always in the wrong by default, and be angry or suspicious or jealous or bitter or battling his mental health problems/depression or malicious or smart or witty or mischievous and silly or sarcastic or ANYTHING dude i just want him to be put into different scenarios where he can be serious or lighthearted like it doesn't even have to be long or perfect but make him feel real.

it could definitely be that i don't read or see much art about dream or really look for it hard enough but also i just. i feel bad for even saying this fr and i wanna be honest about why i don't enjoy most stories about him cause he always gets the worst treatment along with ink!!! especially ink omg the poor guy has it the worst i think like wow do they mess him up :'(

always one dimensional in non shippy fics, or too plain or easily replaceable by other, more entertaining people in the significant other's life in most of his ships like man. i have read fics out there that made me genuinely FEEL and root for him and love his character so much it restored all hope for me!!! but i can only name one on top of my head and the others? it's been so long i don't even remember their names i just legit feel terrible cause i love him still and i can't find many headcanons that fit my interpretation of him yknow?

not to say people who write him very happy, mislead or sad are ruining him like that's silly- if i see something i don't like i just. move on bro i wouldn't force people to feel or think the same way i do about him cause anyone can have whatever headcanons they want!!! just talking about what i personally look for in him and why i can't exactly find it since most of the stuff out there just isn't my cup of tea :')

how do you think they decided on letting jamie back on the team in s2? don’t know if it’s ever confirmed in canon, but the diamond dogs end up tying on the vote so either rebecca or the whole team have the deciding vote? but it’s hard to tell if it’s been discussed with the entire richmond team or not. also curious about your thoughts on the rebecca and jamie dynamic! we don’t see them interact much, but there is that hug they share in the s3 finale

Ah, I’d say that’s Ted’s call all the way. The Diamond Dogs don’t have any real authority – they’re an (informal) advisory board at best. Ted asks them because he wants their input, but with the vote tied, Ted has the final say. Well, Higgins might have a real say, too, as the director of football operations, but he was the other one voting for Jamie’s return. (And, like. Ted has no problem whatsoever going against the advice of others once he’s made up his mind about something. Though, it should be said, he is also good about changing his mind when it becomes evident that he’s in the wrong.)

Ted, because he is Ted and has Ideas, might have thought to bring the vote to the team, but I think he realized which way it would go and therefore decided against it, because yeah, nah, they’re bringing sexy Jamie back and that’s that.

I imagine he would need to clear it with Rebecca, though, but I also imagine that Rebecca is not particularly inclined to go against Ted’s wishes as a manager, especially at this point (where the whole “actually Ted I was trying to sabotage you all along” is not too far behind them). And if Rebecca voices any protests, I think that Ted would – gently but firmly – suggest that maybe, given the way Jamie was made to leave Richmond, it’s only fair that he’s granted a second chance, and don’t you think that we all need one of those from time to time, boss?

As for Rebecca and Jamie’s relationship, I don’t think there’s much of one up until the very end of season 3. There’s professional contact, when needs be, but until Keeley starts bringing Roy and Jamie round for double dates with Rebecca and her Dutchman (which is my favourite headcanon for the hug), there’s not much outside of that. However, I do have a lot of feelings about how Rebecca and Jamie might bond over being reformed pricks and the power nasty men can have over you, and I think that there might be a conversation the truth of Jamie’s recall to City somewhere between scenes or in the future. (I do have a whole tag fic on some gif set about how that might come to be; someday I might turn it into a proper ficlet. Just rich, rich dramatic pickings right there.)
