There's no time to explain who am I, so im gonna show you my own take on Horrortale Yellow.
This au's name doesn't need to be explained, the underground sets in an uncanny ambient after a neutral route in general, but based on Undertale Yellow's timeline, the underground sets in this ambient after a neutral route made by Integrity.
Each area like The Dark Ruins and Snowfall (Lower Snowdin) are based on the horsemen of the apocalypse in order: Death (Ruins), Pestilence (Snowdin), Famine (Dunes/The Wild East), War (Steamworks and UG Apartments), and finally, the last area called "Clover's judgement" can be heaven or hell depending of the route (genocide, neutral or pacifist (NOT FLAWED), where your fate will be sealed if you choose to fight Zenith Martlet, Kitsune Ceroba or Flowey.
Monsters CAN bleed in this au if they arent at a very low HP but still damaged, if they lost all their HP they turn into dust normally along with the blood.
I dont have enough energy to explain every character's deep lore on this au, so im gonna say their general characteristics:
Clover is 10-years old, they escaped from home and fell from a mountain on accident, without having any bandages or any gun, they have to dodge every attack to not to die. They fell in a flower bed that had spines on it, making them lose a part of their vision and getting hurt, leaving them with a very low HP permanently at the beginning.
Dalv is a REAL vampire this time, he will try to attack Clover no matter if theyre friends or not, but Dalv knows is better for Clover to leave his house for their own good if they want to survive. Dalv is selectively mute and has vampire urges that need to be satisfied. He lost a horn in a fight that he doesnt remember.
Martlet lives in Snowfall where there is a fungus infection that was born after the dust mixed with very cold snow on trees that made a fungus live on fruits and honey panels. Martlet is infected and a bit hungry, but she would never attack a poor child. She's vulnerable to cold and diseases, she's is in the late-third phase of infection where fungus take place on her physical body and cant fly.
Ceroba lives in the dunes where everyone fights and eat themselves to survive, concluding on cannibalism and blood, everyone is hungry and will attack anyone who steps on the area. Ceroba has a scar on her left eye like Clover and has insomnia to protect Kanako and Chujin, who are alive but need to be feed. She has SEVERE problems with Orion (Starlo's brother).
Axis was created after Integrity's neutral route where The Integrity Incident never happened, Axis serves as a doctor and emergency robot, when he was closed in the Steamworks, the Steamworks and UG Apartments summerged on war due to being trapped by their own creators. Axis is mute due to his "radio" being damaged, he is a pacifist and tries to help Clover until Clover and Ceroba wrongly attack him.
I will drop more information later, but these are the most important ones. The others who I didnt included (Decibat, El Bailador, Starlo, Orion, along with others) are secondary or important to a specific character's development. Here are the old designs, some of them stay the same and others changed a little bit or generally.
#this gonna flop but idc#undertale yellow#uty dalv#uty ceroba#uty clover#uty fanart#uty au#uty flowey#im just a boy (neutral gender)#only tagged the characters showed in the image#uty#ut yellow

yes pls, give us all the silverdyne essays 🙏
THEYRE DOOMED!!! ANON THEYRE DOOOMED
I think the most fascinating part about Silverdyne is they CANT work out, not in the past and not in the present. Their relationship in the 2020s and before is as stable as a bridge made of plastic straws. In the 2070s the best thing they can do is reminisce, drink, and do a reunion show it can't go much further than that.
Johnny is crazy and unstable, and Kerry is just emotionally unstable enough to meet him at his level in waves. They're soulmates but they can't be anything more than a fling, if it ever could be possible it would require work Kerry hasn't managed to get done in 50 years alone.
But in the same breath they're so important for each other. Johnny gives a shit about Kerry, Kerry gives a shit about Johnny, but Johnny's too stubborn and stuck up to admit or even recognize it and Kerry is too insecure to say anything. They're DOOMED.
They're soulmates that can't exist in the same space. They're integral to each others lives and careers in a way that's so important. Alt was Johnny's objective, the grief that gave him a target and a reason to get up in the morning. Kerry was his confidant that he was never honest with. He's an example of another integral puzzle piece to Johnny's story that he mistreated, abandoned, and misunderstood until it was too late.
I read a lot of Silverdyne fixits and there's quite a few I've enjoyed but within the game I just don't think it's possible for them to be endgame, but they're IMPORTANT. Just because their relationship can't work out doesn't mean it's not VITAL to both of their characters. Kerry needs to get over Johnny, and he does, but he can't discard Johnny. They can't discard each other, they can only circle each other infinitely.
Anyway I do ship them but in like a fucked up doomed yaoi way thank you god bless
#cyberpunk 2077#silverdyne#johnny silverhand#kerry eurodyne#ranting#just my opinion obviously lmao#if u disagree just shuffle on by

i genuinely hope this doesn't come off as confrontational or patronizing. i realize you're probably going to ignore this message, too, and i realize there's no point in arguing. i hope i can get you to think your behaviour through a little further is all. i don't think any one should fake a disorder either. i certainly don't think they should be doing it for internet Special Snowflake points or whatever the narrative is around "endos". but who the hell gets to decide if theyre pretending? are you basing this on the psych model? are you excluding everyone without memory partitions? did you change your mind on that when osdd was added to the dsm, or are you old guard? are you under the impression that psychiatry has a full, clear picture of identity disorders? if you're not using the psych model, what model are you using? gut reactions? if someone seems too comfortable with being plural, talks about it too loudly or in a way you find annoying, is that where you draw the line? or do they have to submit a writeup of their trauma to your diagnostic board? wht's your stance on integration? i know there's lots of people out there who are of the position that the only goal of treating this disorder should be full integration, and that it's impossible to live a full, happy, healthy life with alters. these are real, genuine questions. what of the overlap of autism and schizo? who the hell gets to decide if an experience of plurality is real or definable enough to deserve alienation? i swear to god, i mean this from the bottom of my heart, if you're not a psych bootlicker, if you understand the importance of giving people the grace to define themselves, if you understand all the reasons why you wouldn't want to put your age or identifiers or traumatic backstory on the internet, why in the world is this your sticking point? that there's one, clearly obviously identifiable threshold which makes a person traumatized enough to feel the way they feel? that there's one completely objective way to know if someone is "faking", for fun or clout or anything else?
the whole discussion has lost the plot. it just reeks of enshrining trauma and suffering as the sole focal point of identity. anti-endos and pro-endos both can't wait to jump at each other throats with no regard for the wealth of experiences that could connect them. Internal family systems, dbt, emdr, all of these philosophies and techniques are powerful tools for healing, but you know? people engaging in syscourse (or whatever) don't really seem to be all that worried about healing, or understanding themselves, or giving themselves and others patience and compassion. they just want to be part of the club that makes them special, special enough to finally deserve validation, attention, connection. the fun secret here is that they already do and always have.
i finally started healing when i gave up on determining whether or not i was damaged and suffering enough to deserve help. when i gave up on trying to find (and then submit to) tenuous outside validation and started seriously listening to the hurt parts of myself and taking care of them instead of letting their neuroses control me.
i get it hurts to see other people seemingly make light, romanticize, or flaunt something that seriously hurts you, or that exists because you've been seriously hurt. to use it for attention or sympathy or a reason to argue. but trying to construct a framework placing you as an arbitor of who gets to feel what or access what resources or describe their experiences in certain ways is just not it. it's tempting to chase that validation from so-called emperic sources, but the way forward is establishing security within yourself, and you're gonna have a hard time doing that if you're always ready to call somebody else a faker.
Anyway. again, not trying to proselytize. hopefully sharing a sentiment i could have benefitted from seven or so years ago. hope you have a nice day
Hey so I've kept this in my inbox since our conversation and you sent this in, and I thought I should finally answer it after staring at it a bunch.
So guess what? By pure coincidence, and the natural growing of life, I'm an endo supporter now. I have alters with different origins, and a good chunk are willowgenic. So, thought you deserved an update! Hope you're well and this reaches you at a good time dude

ive loved this book to death since like 4 years ago but the 2 sequels were NOT THAT GOOD and theyre such obscure books so i have no idea why i'm posting this but anyways i present: endling: the last was a literal masterpiece and it's sequels were just disappointing.
also this is kind of a shitpost because of the terrible spelling, grammar and formatting. like i said, im not even making this post for anyone
unrealistic ending
dude a felivet is capable of murdering several trained soldiers at once. realistically, the kazar wouldve overpowered most humans. even if khara was skilled and agile enough to beat him ina normal fight, it was a. a 1v2, b she was severely wounded. her injury took 6 hours of magic for her to be able to LIVE, at this point its just plot armour. also, considering her 2 enemies were willing to fight each other instead of teaming up to defeat the wounded 15yo chanllenging them, it wouldve been at least realistic for her to pit them against each other, to make things a lot easier for her, but noOoOoO, she challenges them to a 1v2. voluntarily. bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
it lacks much of what the first book had. the first book was amazing because of a few things 1. char development 2. realistic emotional moments 3. simple pace 4. good worldbuilding and interesting adventures 5. the sense of found family and togetherness, as they meet new people and trust them and become a new family
the first book wonderfully showed a child whose whole family/species had been brutally murdered, and how she dealt with grief and survived as an endling. and built a new family. it does a great job of introducing the world and its species, its hierachy, its polictics, systems, so on so forth. it makes you cry so much because of how emotional and painful it is.
the third book? hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. 1. i believe that the book was originally only meant to be a single book, but was later given 2 sequels. which is why most of byx's character development and learning is finished in book 1, and some of it in book2. by book3, instead of a child clinging onto morals and lessons from her family, she's now a mature person who has the least subtle morals running around her head. she has less depth and is just... so unsubtle. 2. most of her grieving is over. she rarely mentions her family, or her past. you cld say that its good that she moved on, but no, she doesnt even hang on to the lessons she learned from her pack. which in book1, she would reiterate constantly, because her pack was such an integral part of her life. as it should be! but now, she's "moved on", except she just... sorta forgets them. a quick namedrop wouldve been nice every now and then, to show how they and her childhood impacted her. 3. war preparations arent simple, but the pacing is just... all over the place. 4. as Ambassador, the adventures in the book are now. just. politics. diplomatic meetings. and as an important person now, byx is a lot more protected and deals with a lot less setbacks and conflicts. so the adventrues are just... not interesting. 5. the group is separated for most of the book. sure, you do need the top level people to multitask when preparing for a war, but... it's lost the sense of togetherness, the sense of the few of them against the world, travelling around, having their adventures together, just them, dealing with shit together. and thats what found family is about, at least in books 1 and 2.
writing this has made me realize what the problem is, this book is just closure. closure to the cliffhangers of "war is coming" in the earlier books, and it just wants to tie up loose strands and provide an ending. but that means that this consumes the whole book and makes it... not fun. closure is necessary, like for instance, all in was a better finale part than the hardest thing. but the hardest thing was necessary to end the story and bring closure. thing is, the hardest thing is 30 minutes. the entireity of amphibia is around 20 hours long. meanwhile, endling book3 was one third of the series. AND the hardest thing was STILL more riveting than book3. war preparations ARE boring. and book3 was completely consumed by it.
okayy so i wrote this last year and i re-read the trilogy (its like, the first book i read with my face ;))))))))))) then because the next 2 books EXIST, not that theyreup to standard, or in the case of book3, GOOD, i read them, but just very quickly skim through the second half of 2 and all of 3 with my face '_', i cant just NOT read them after reading book1, yaknow?) so im thinking
so i really hate the final climax fight, right?
i mean they literally said the arrow was barbed and 3 inches deep (thats 7.5cm. SEVEN POINT FIVE MOTHERFUCKING CENTIMETRES DEEP, NOT TO MENTION THE BARBED ARROWHEAD WOULD LEAD TO A WIDE WOUND AS WELL), and the blood was literally PUMPING from her chest. no offence but thats a death sentence.
okay so, magic was involved. but reminder that you can only start learning and using theurgy after 15, and renzo was only a year past 15, but we know he wouldnt have time to study theurgy while travelling with the gang, and all his knowledge comes from the first few months of him being of age. meaning, he is NOVICE AS FUCK.
i am fine with the notion of khara keeping her life because he was quick to do his whatever first aid and then his 6 hours of magic encantations or whatever, but it is RIDICULOUS that she could WALK and TRAVEL normally AND THEN EVEN GO FIGHT THE MOST BIGGEST AND MOST FORMIDABLE FIGHTERS OF THE PLACE
IF A FEW-MONTH-OLD MAGIC PRACTITIONER CAN DO THAT THEN THE POPULATION OF NEDARRA/DREYLAND SHOULD BE FUCKING IMMORTAL OKAY, IF A NOVICE CAN DO THAT, THE OLD PPL WHO ARE WIZARDS OR WHATEVER AND DEDICATE THEIR LIVES TO THEURGY SHOULD BE ABLE TO IMMORTALIZE YOU OR REVERSE YOUR AGE OR SMTH
anyways this is ALL BULLSHIT OKAY so waht im thinking is a re-write
book3 is kinda unsavable cuz like i said, i cant stand the politics and lack of the gang being together, but at least i can kind of try to save this plot-armour-dependant, illogical and annoying to read section
consider this: the bandits took the 3 by surprise because they were just chilling and chatting and rather laid back right? but renzo, becuase him following them was entirely to watch out for them, and he also had to look out in case THEY see him, would be on high alert.
so im thinking, what if the first arrow wasnt spot-on, but instead whizzed past khara, maybe nicking/slicing her a little, leading the same scene where she stops talking and byx to be confused, but as she has no idea what happened and it came outta nowhere, she doesn't really react to it. but renzo immediately sees the arrow and figures its an attack, and since khara isnt moving outta the way, he spurs his horse on very quickly and just gallops in front of her as a meat shield and the next arrow hits him instead.
THEN khara reacts and is like HWAT THE ACTAL FUCK and once her brain processes the situation she is enraged out of her fucking mind and goes Apeshit™ on the bandits with her cool shiny sword and kills the fuck outta them. then the same scene in canon happens, just in reverse, shes panicked as fuck and yelling for byx n tobble to bring shit and do shit for her as she tries to save his life, only problem is she doesnt know magic so...
either 1. the arrowhead isnt barbed or it didnt hit any vital organs, so she can deal with it without magic
she sends byx to go find help, find a nearby armyofpeace affiliated village where they can send supplies and medics
he fucking dies LMAO
okay no 3 is just sad although it wouldnt affect the ending where they kill the kazar and the murdano its kind of a pointless death and it will make the ending feel more empty. also you KNOW to DEATH that khara and byx r gonna blame themselves (theyre gonna do it when hes wounded as well but you know itll be a million times worse if he effing DIES) and anyways no one in byx's new family shall die it WONT HAPPEN ON MY WATCH
okay so not 3 lmao
1 and 2 dont have THAT big a difference, also i am currently spouting the word "rewrite" but in actuality im never gonna actually write this out into a fully fleshed fanfic/rewrite/wahtever so it doesnt matter that much, just the idea is that he takes the shot and is seriously wounded in place of her (but lives, yay)
khara kind of wants to call off the mission so that she can care for him but everyone tells her that this oppurtunity (both dicators just... being out there to be dueled, without their MASSIVE FUCKING ARMIES) wont ever come back once she misses it, so she, byx n tobble rush to the final fight
the final fight goes as it does in canon, just that she is ACTUALLY CAPABLE OF FIGHTING this time, also she strategically lets the kazar and the chimera fight it out first, then swoops in to challenge them when theyre both beaten down a little. okay then everything goes as it did, just with more very cute and sweet and emotional scenes when she returns and takes care of him
yes i am a sucker for cliche character-meatshields-and-saves-other-character's-life scenes but this is the only time ever that its not purely self-indulgent okay, canon scene is just. not. realistic.
i have.... more complaints.
firstly, # justiceforgambler bruh, why isnt he in the epilogue??? book1 loyalists could even argue that he mattered more than renzo, but regardless of that, it should be the 5 of them as a family. why was it randomly just 4 of them????? bro hes an integral part of the gang and a main cast member i swear why isnt he in the epilogue? OR IN BOOK 3, AS A MATTER OF FACT?? HE BARELY HAS A PRESCENCE?????? maxyn and sabito, who i do not give any shits about, get 20 times more screen time than a main cast member who saved the gang multiple times.
speaking of screentime and gambler, WE NEEDED MORE SCENES OF GAMBLER AND RENZO?!?!??! have we all forgotten that one scene where they bonded over being math nerds, and that other scene where they had a mini trip together to set fire to some shit?? arson bros for life
anyways theyre totally huge bros but we were ROBBED of more interactions and scenes with them, in favour of BORING DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS AND CONVERSATIONS INVOLVING EITHER BORING MAXYN OR BORING POLITICAL FIGURES.
speaking of maxyn, i fucking hate him?? imo his character was handled really poorly, really really poorly. (yeah ik hes a good guy but hes badly written so i hate him) the scene where his dad dies is really bad?? for one, byx, little miss i-have-no-tact, when someone crying over their dead dad reminds you of you crying over your own dead family, you dont say "i know how you are feeling" like what??? what kind of comfort is that??? if anything, im pretty sure people feel WORSE when they hear of others also having their parents DIE. also, no offence, but you DID indirectly cause the death, so uh, i dont think you should be even trying to comfort him.
also the death doesnt ever get brought up again?? it feels incredibly pointless?? like if elexor had ran off on a boat nothing about the story would change. the pacing is kinda crazy too? he dies outta nowhere and in like 2 pages the dude is over his death and in the next forever and ever, no one even cares anymore
i have more reasons that his character is bad but at this point im rambling to do waht? discredit the sequels to my favourite book? im sleepy bruh i just spent 2 hours of my life on this??? also i keep on making references to a fandom of sorts even though there is literally no fandom
bye

ok this au mostly corresponds with my wc rewrite/au in which the events, world, and characters are altered immensely. this plays more as a murder mystery than the current arc, at least imo as it focuses more on that since the problems with the code are completely removed from this bc there isnt really a code in this au. nightheart and sunbeam still deal with their respective personal issues, and theyre thrown into the murder stuff which affects their lives as they try to figure things out.
anyway frostpaw is related to mistystar and her family is sort of the result of the shadowclan and riverclan integration era, which is slightly longer in this au. diff clan relationships arent discouraged nor looked down upon, however families from different clans (or often even within the same clan) may not like each other for some reason and will be averse towards blending families. but with the shadowclan/riverclan integration, both clans were joined as one which brought forth many changes and ultimately altered the ways these clans funtioned individually. primrosepaw is actually alive here long enough to be the mother of curlfeather and podlight, before dying of illness.
frostpaw chooses to become a medicine cat apprentice to mothwing, with the desire to be closer to starclan, and frostpaw looks up to mothwing greatly but also envies her. so it is important to note that starclan (and the place of no stars) has very little power in the living world, it kind of functions as it did early warriors where they have very little influence on events and communication is difficult and rare. yet the clowders believe in them and they are largely apart of their culture. so mothwing's hesitance to believe in the power of starclan makes more sense. it isnt uncommon for most cats to feel this way and worshipping starclan isnt forced on others, but depending on your family they may feel sort of shocked or disappointed. mothwing is well respected and she doesn't ever tell cats about her feelings towards starclan, not only because she doesnt want to hurt or discourage anyone but also she wants to feel like starclan is there for her but wants proof. but one day she confesses this to frostpaw prior to the night the med cats meet at the moonpool, which shocks frostpaw but she agrees to keep this to herself. frostpaw prays and prays all night for mothpool, hoping that starclan will help her guide her mentor to better the clan and set things right.
the next night when they go to moonpool, frostpaw doesnt get her response from starclan and she feels betrayed. mothwing tries to assure her that she should not expect starclan to speak with her immediately and that perhaps they will come to her in time, but frostpaw does not believe her and knows even mothwing does not believe this herself.
now i dont really have anything set to go through with this bc like i said this is still being planned and will change, but basically at some point frostpaw just gets what she believes is a sign from starclan that she should lead riverclan due to her devotion. she finds like a chance to kill mistystar who is severely ill due to her age and being on her final life, by purposely giving her the wrong herbs which goes unnoticed by the clan. she is the one who proposes the idea to let the med cats temporarily lead the clan with reedwhiskers disappearance (which she plays a part in), but instead podlight is chosen to be temp leader as he is a respected warrior. frostpaw is pretty jealous and wants to train to be a better fighter, with the intent to take down podlight. i think that mothwing eventually gets bad vibes from frostpaw but brushes it off as frostpaw has always been a strange kid.
i think at some point frostpaws schemes affect the other clans which is when nightheart and sunbeam kind of come in but not sure how to make that work.
idk idk it kind of sucks now but i have really good scenes in my head i wanna write down maybe post but basically frostpaw is extremely devoted to starclan but her desire to become leader causes her to drift from her faith and instead she worships herself her own ideals, and her relationship with her family and clanmmates largely influences her emotions and actions. she just becomes super deadly and cold and eventually bored. nightheart is the main one to face her and sunbeam kind of helps but i like to think of her as a super pathetic sopping wet kinda guy in like a sillier way than nightheart if that makes sense.
i never elaborated on my evil frostpaw au hold on
#for sum reason i can add read more but yeah#cant#evil frostpaw au#Also i plan for her to be redeemed nightheart talks her down#and she regrets everything shes in so much pain#but she doesnt know how to go back#long post

w promare galo and lio r autistics whose characters and relationship w each other obv works off autistic rules and autistic communication and autistic ppl Get It bcuz we live these experiences so we know like, lio making galo a fire matoi is rly meaningful and romantic in a way that allistic ppl brush over bcuz they dont Get special interests or how autistic communication works. and galo is autistic purposefully and lio is too Thru galo being autistic n their understanding w each other on an instinctive level none of the other characters share w them, so it truly is. the way to watch this movie. and allistic viewers r missing like most of the context of the characters n their relationships, not even just w each other but just in General in the story, but definitely w each other most. its like cishets watching promare and walking away trying to rly understand galo and lios relationship without accepting theyre gay, on their quest to fit the characters n story into their own interpretation they want and feel they Can Understand And Relate To they stripped like a major part of the story from them and theyre left w smth unrecognizable and not in character and just a shitty way 2 watch the movie. this is just as important n integral 2 understanding
#i could not say how intentional every little pieceof the story was w things abt galo and lio n them being autistic Meaning things#that r dif to autistic ppl then they r 2 allistics#but since galo was intentionally autistic and lio si Thru him so u can p much just say he also was intentionally#its definitely better to look at stuff this way then it is to pretend they r allistic or something cuz thats way off and insulting n ableist#its just gonna be super out of character and wrong then 4 sure. even if trigger wasnt thinking abt the matoi beyond like#showing lio listened to galo and paid attention 2 what he said abt his special interest its still a bit#thats one of the rly meaningful things that autistic ppl rly like n relate to so autistic understanding of the autistic chars gives it#more fleshed out meaning an context and romance#promare

Sarimanok
Sarimanok
Description
If there’s a symbol that the Maranao people in the Philippines are associated with, it’s the Sarimanok. Sarimanok is an important part of the Maranao people’s cultural heritage, it is invoked in many rituals and it showcases their unique artistic geniuses.
The Maranao tribe is from the Mindanao island in the southern part of the Philippines and even before the arrival of the Spaniards in the country, they had their own culture, language, beliefs and arts. And the Sarimanok, with its beautiful and colorful feathers, is frequently depicted in their artistic, decorative and architectural designs.
The word Sarimanok comes from “Sari” which means a garment of different colors, and “manok”, which means rooster. The figure of sarimanok is normally characterized by its colorful feathers, scroll, leaf and other motifs on its head, and the fish that it carries on its talons or in its beak.
The origin of the sarimanok is not known, but it is widely featured in numerous legends.
According to one legend, once upon a time, there was a prince named Rajah Indarapatra who fell in love with the moon goddess who came to earth every Friday to bathe in a scented well. The prince knew that they couldn’t be together because the moon goddess was not from this world. He fell into deep despair, then one day while he was carving a rooster made of wood, he challenged it to take him to the moon. The rooster, with beautiful feathers, came alive and flew the prince to the moon to be with his beloved. The prince was never seen again.
Another legend says that the Maranaos, who are predominantly Muslim, believed that when the Prophet Muhammad went to the seven heavens, he found the rooster in the first heaven and it was so large that its crest touches the second heaven. Legend says that the crow wakes up all living creatures except man, and it is believed that Judgement day comes when the rooster stops crowing.
However, there is also a legend that states that the existence of sarimanok started pre-Islamic beliefs. According to the Maranaos, the Sarimanok is their totem bird named Itotoro which has a twin-spirit, Inikadowa. When Rajah Indarpatra married a water nymph, they had two sons: one who can be seen and the other, unseen. Seen became the ancestors of the modern-day Maranao people and Unseen is the spirit that they pay tribute to during rituals and rites. These two brothers made a pact that they will always protect each other from bad spirits and they chose the Sarimanok to be their totem bird and through the help of its twin, Inikadowa, it became the link between the seen and the unseen worlds. The fish on the beak of the Sarimanok symbolises the food that the Maranao people offer to the spirit world.
No matter what the origin was, the Sarimanok is highly revered by the Maranaos and has become an integral part of their culture and widely present in their artistic and architectural designs, rituals, dance and festivals. The Maranaos believe that the Sarimanok will bring them good fortune and if the spirits are pleased, they will have a bountiful harvest. And what started as a cultural heritage from the south of the Philippines has already been adopted by the whole country and nowadays, it has become one of its enduring symbols.

Best GMs and coaches in the league ACC to you?
we can start with gms because coaching is a bit more complicated. best gms in the league is easy to look at because like, who has a good team? who has had a consistently good team? whose locker room is the most cohesive, whose coaching staff is the best? who is the best at acquiring and keeping the best players, coaches, staff, etc? and you can see that in the way teams play.
(putting this under the cut because it got long. and i mean Long.)
so, in no particular order: kyle dubas (leafs), steve yzerman (red wings, i will explain this later), don waddell (canes), julien brisebois (lightning), joe sakic (avs), and kelly mccrimmon/george mcphee (golden knights) (god i still hate that name and also will explain this later too) are the best in the league in my opinion. honorable mention to marc bergevin, who has held onto his job much longer than he arguably should have, but still has a decent team on the ice and a decent coaching staff, although the french rule does severely handicap them (i understand why it exists but it does, it just does).
david poile (preds) is the longest tenured gm in the league (has been the preds gm since fucking 1997, thats insane, thats legit before i was born, what the fuck), and i do genuinely think he is very good at his job, and that he is very hockey smart, but oh boy have his recent decisions been suspect as hell, and that reflects in the state of his team. doug wilson (sharks), who is the second longest tenured gm in the nhl, is in the exact same boat (the karlsson deal is a nightmare, and also did he just forget that his star core was gonna get old and retire or ??).
with dubas, waddell, brisebois, sakic, and mccrimmon/mcphee all have the same basic strengths: they draft well, they have a fundamental understanding of their team structure and how to manage public perception of the team and everything that implies, and they have two fingers on the pulse of their locker room at all times. im not going to pretend to know as much about sakic and mccrimmon/mcphee as i do the eastern gms, but it doesnt take much to figure it out. look at the avs, and their locker room, the success theyve found after being dead fucking last in the league. look at the knights and their incredible success that theyve found after literally not existing before 2017. ive talked about dubas a lot on my blog, but its incredibly easy to see that waddell and brisebois do the same shit he does, and i can do a deep dive on them if asked. bergevin has moments of brilliance, like the suzuki trade and acquiring caufield and anderson, but things like kotkaniemi’s development and their entire blue line give me a massive pause, which is why he’s not in the main list. he’s a good gm. he’s just not the best.
in regards to steve yzerman: you have to understand that this is the man that built the tampa bay lightning as we know them. this man was gm of the bolts until fucking 2018. tampa bay has been a monster in the eastern conference for years, BECAUSE of the work steve yzerman put in. his team set the franchise record for wins, and he was the first and is the only lightning gm to have won gm of the year. look up the 17-18 roster. it is, essentially, the roster that won them the cup last year. make no mistake, i think brisebois is great, and hes on the list for a reason, but the biggest part of brisebois’ success was steve yzerman’s incredible hockey mind. brisebois essentially had to sell off a fourth of his roster, and the lightning are still a top team in their division and in the league, and thats why he’s there (it is so incredibly easy to fuck shit up post cup win), but the brisebois lightning would not exist without steve yzerman, plain and simple.
what steve yzerman is doing in detroit should be watched very, very closely by every single person in the hockey world. youre fucking nuts if youre not paying attention to them, not gonna lie. the mantha trade was excellent, if really sad if you know even a bit about the wings, but the amount of draft picks steve yzerman has amassed and the way he’s using the prospects and players he already has is really fucking admirable. mike babcock left the red wings organization absolutely in tatters, and i think, honestly, it was always steve yzerman’s plan to go home to detroit and rebuild. if there is anyone who is going to strike absolute gold this draft year, it is steve yzerman. watch the red wings, i am telling you, keep a beat on detroit. they are going to be good. its not an if, its a when.
(real quick on the knights situation: mcphee was the first gm of the knights, and was also president of hockey ops at the same time, and then in 2019 mcphee said he was just gonna focus on his job as president, but we all know hes still an integral part of the way the knights are run, and he and mccrimmon have kinda been building the knight together since the beginning anyway bc mccrimmon was originally mcphee’s agm. so. thats why theyre together)
as for coaches, it’s very simple. rod brind’amour (canes), sheldon keefe (leafs, yes im biased, we’ll get into it), jared bednar (avs), joel quenneville (panthers), jon cooper (lightning), barry trotz (isles), and mike sullivan (pens).
(disclaimer: obviously coaching is done as a team, and assistants and specialist coaches and staff are all very important, but the head coaches set the tone and organize the entire machine, if you will, so im going to be talking about head coaches as if theyre the entire coaching staff. its just easier this way im sorry)
im gonna just start with the easy ones: barry trotz, mike sullivan, and jon cooper have been in the league for years. cooper is the longest tenured coach in the nhl for a reason (again, just look at the tampa bay lightning. its the gm’s job to make the coach’s life easier and the coach’s job to make the gm’s life easier, and this is one of the prime examples of it in the league. its dope as hell tbh), trotz is one of the most respected coaches in the hockey world for a reason (the caps lost something when he walked. they just did. and now the isles are absolute hell to play against and that is largely the coaching of barry trotz, you legit cannot tell me im wrong), and while mike sullivan does have his faults, i think hes found a way to please both management and the crosby-and-malkin unit, which has been really really fucking hard to do. he also led the pens to back to back cups, which you can never really uh. ignore. lmao. so theres those three.
i know less about bednar, but again, another example of the coach and gm working together to make each others’ lives easier. sakic gets bednar the players and staff he needs to make the avs better, and bednar takes those players and staff and makes them into the absolute giant they are. it wouldve been really, really easy to fuck up makar’s development, or bowen byram’s, or sam girard’s, or ryan graves’s, or jost or mackinnon or rantanen’s, but he hasn’t, and he hasn’t just given up on players like burakovsky or kadri, he’s given them new life as players and made them more successful.
joel quenneville is the reason the bl/ckh/wks were a legacy team point blank period. sure they had the talent, sure the gm drafted well, but you do not get the legacy of the chicago bl/ckh/wks without joel quenneville. they fired him on a whim and it absolutely was a mistake, and the moment the cats hired him i literally out loud said ‘oh no’ because i knew exactly what that meant for the leafs and their position in the standings. the panthers are underrated generally, yes, but they would not be the powerhouse they are this season without quenneville. just look at q’s wiki stats. he’s absolutely unbeilevable. he won the jack adams in fucking 2000, before he’d even won any of the cups with the h/wks. i cant tell you what kind of a locker room coach this guy is, but i can tell you his teams win and win convincingly, and that firing him was the biggest mistake the h/wks have made in years.
whenever i talk about coaching, i talk about rod brindamour and sheldon keefe in the same breath every single time because there is no match, and i mean none, for the love inside those locker rooms. the avs, maybe, but my point stands. keefe and brindamour fucking BLEED team spirit, it is at the center of their coaching styles and their teams are good because of it specifically. marner and matthews are good, yes, and they always have been, but they have surpassed all expectation and then some with keefe. aho, teravainen, and svechnikov are good, yes, and they always have been, but they have surpassed all expectation with brindamour. brindamour and keefe have both hashtag played the game, so they Get It, and more than that, theyve grown and changed their understanding of the game as the game itself has changed, and so they can command the authority of their teams while also connecting to them on a really deep level. i should make a note here that keefe and brindamour are incredibly, deeply hockey smart, and that they are also just technically good coaches, skimming their wiki or nhl dot com articles will tell you that, but what makes them stand out to me is that their players would fucking die for them. the leafs would go through the end boards for keefe, the canes would do the same for brindamour. travis dermott said it best when keefe got promoted: boys wanna play for him. beyond that, the management skills both brindamour and keefe have are just frankly amazing (the amount of ego keefe specifically has to manage in the leafs locker room is astounding and he does it so incredibly brilliantly). the leafs and the canes are talented, yes, and would have been talented regardless of who was coaching them. but brindamour and keefe bring both of those teams from talented to exceptional, and the true mark of an amazing coach is not only how many games their team wins, but how they win them, and the leafs and canes have been winning games this year for and because of each other, and that starts with their coaches. what makes a great coach, to me, is not the talent on the team (though that certainly helps), but how the coach manages his players no matter who they are, and how he helps those players grow not just as players as people, because no matter how much pure stats people and twitter hockey dudebros wanna deny it, that shit does affect on ice play, and it does make good players better.
so theres my analysis of the best coaches and gms of the nhl, im so sorry this is so long, oh my god. also, shoutout to @bishops--knifetrick for sending me an ask about this literally a month ago that i just never answered, sorry for that, but here i hope this is good. :)
#anon#answered#hockey info#wow this took legit like several hours to write between stints of taking care of the baby#ok to rb lmao

I have an announcement to make. Buzzardstar the warrior cat is a bitchass motherfucker he fucked my fucking wife
Dw about doing all of these I'm just like um 😳
Buzzardstar: 🌺 and/or⚡️
Orca: 🍁
Minnowwish: ☀️
Starlingsong: 🌈 and/or ☁️
mr steal yo man
Buzzardstar
🌺 warrior ceremony virtues
i think it would be so funny if his warrior virtues were like. loyalty and resilience. because at the time they would be fitting for him, before the journey and when skyclan was all he knew, he was actually devoted to his clan (despite hating like half of its members) but like. well. then he killed a sick kid and betrayed all of them and killed their leader so
⚡️ who would give them lives
ok ok ok i WISH i had written this down somewhere bc when he first became leader i thought about this literally all the time. all of his lives are probably very painful and also meant to be a jab at everything he lacks, to make it very clear no one approves of this. but i think duskstar and buzz’s mother are definitely in the ceremony, probably both at the very end. a fitting one for dusk would probably be justice--buzz will get whats coming to him after manipulating dusk and leaving him to die and taking over. i think vulture might give him one for love or compassion or something, because like. i mean what would You do if your son started killing people she would be so broken up about it all. and idk how kit would feel about this but if blossom’s parents were in it.... god. like god they would be SO pissed and make it as miserable as possible and if i had to pick a life from them it would be mercy. bc buzz viewed killing blossom as a mercy to her and skyclan in his fucked up way, since she was slowing them all down. and its a mercy that he isn’t just struck down then and there by starclan. idk i think it Fits. theres not a whole lot of other important figures in his life from skyclan who were dead by the time buzz became leader so i feel like he might get lives from important figures in other clans? who know what destruction he’s about to bring onto the clans, and are trying to give warnings
god this is so long im s.
Orcasong
🍁 favorite rp / moment
her death scene will ALWAYS make me cry and sob and it has nothing to do with orca and everything to do with seal. her death hit me the hardest like that shit hurteded to rp.... and the fact that it was like the morning after the blood moon makes it feel so. i do not Know something poetic about the first dawn with buzz finally dead and the knowledge that its all over and she still dies anyway just makes me hghghhhhhhhhhhh
but i also really enjoyed some of her moments in the med den with seal. their warrior ceremony where they were both too battered and weary to even walk up to the front of the crowd and they were just standing there holding each other up and i [check_out_how_hard_i_can_cry.jpg]
Minnowwish
☀️ ideal friendships
oof this one is harder bc i Barely used him before we timeskipped but he will always be friends with his mom <3 <3 but beyond that i think it will be Hard for him to make new friendships bc after the almost second war hes a little Afraid of the other clans and will probably stick close to anyone from riverclan
Starlingsong
🌈 something I want to happen in their character arc
i changed what i wanted out of her like every other week and now that the circumstances are different i think its probably going to change AGAIN kjdhzxkjhkjh but. i kind of want her to maybe mend some bridges with rc??? i think itll be hard and take a lot of time but i think if theyre all going to be. you know.
being Normal:tm: is such an integral part of her character now and this is gonna throw a huge wrench into what she was trying to achieve with just her clanmates, shes probably just gonna want to try and put all of it behind her or else she wont ever be just another face in the crowd
☁️ alternate clan au
oh my god ok i g. does buzzardclan count. because if buzzardclan had lasted longer i can absolutely see her having like. a truly evil au or something. she was Young when he took over, still a kitten, and though her siblings didnt really want to be with buzz she was the one who convinced them otherwise (at least thats what i remember happening??? i was so tied up with buzz at the time kajhsfsdkjhfgkjh) so like. i think with enough exposure to buzz she might not ever be on his level but she might end up doing some terrible things, especially if he kept them isolated from the rest of the clan and surrounded by the rogues instead
i also think a thunderclan au would be so interesting. because if buzz found out about his kits before he was exiled he WOULD have hunted them down, whether that entailed shadowclan handing them over after finding out (not sure what dark wouldve done) or him leading an invasion just like he did with riverclan. then just growing up in a clan your father destroyed, a clan where your father started exiling cats who spoke against him including the deputy and a medicine cat, a clan where your father killed their leader AND THE OTHER medicine cat, a clan where your father lied and manipulated all of them. he had his paws in every clan but thunder, sky, and river definitely got it the worst and being in any one of those clans would be so so interesting

aaaaaaa okay i just watched the new episode and im so curious about how theyre going to handle the rest of this arc? you always have really good takes so i was wondering what your thoughts were!! bunkerman is such an important character in this part of the story, it seems like they cant cut him out entirely????so where is he!!!
~ Sorry for the late answer, I kept procrastinating writing my thoughts because I knew this would have turned out to be long ahah ~
Thank you for the compliments, I'm flattered!!! Tho I doubt I will be of great help, I feel like I'm lost at sea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But I'll do my best!!!
First of all, I'd want to point out that, as of now, I'm confident they will not cut Bunkerman and Goldy Pond off the plot. Goldy Pond is a strong and solid arc that I'm sure received a positive response from SJ readers while it was on going; once it's animated, the anime will be completed of the action that has so far been lacking. As for Bunkerman, in the Shounen Jump's tpn popularity polls he earned 16th and 7th place, which makes me think he's fairly popular. His presence adds a very nice twist to the plot: not only he's the first male adult we see; even though he doesn't side with demons, he's still hostile to the children, which comes off as very surprising to the reader / watcher (and builds up to how Andrew and later the whole Ratri clan will persecute them, introducing the aspect that not all humans on the outside are their friends). Additionally, he is the first character to help build up the theme that Emma is not only going to help her friends and family, but also her enemies, which puts the basis of her character development and her decision to save all the demons and mamas. Moreover: how people have already pointed out, Bunkerman has also a very important role as representing the “what-if” version of the children, as showed in chapter 177:
His character has a very poignant role, as he's revealed to have a very tragic backstory: his story consolidates the cruelty of the world they live in, which is a main theme of tpn, and the way it's ultimately revealed how the children saved his life and gave him the chance to start living again comes to the viewer as extremely moving.
To sum up, he's too much of a great character to be omitted- they're not going to have all that great potential go to waste. His character development and personal growth is too powerful to be thrown away, and I refuse to believe they will (I'm going through chapter 109 again after a long time and I'm getting a little emotional :')
So next up is when we're going to see him, right? I doubt it is going to be soon. My guesses are that he'll show up either in the second half of the season, or even at the very end as teasing for an eventual following season.
The conditions in which the children have found the shelter unsettle me. The shelter confuses me so much, because things simply don't add up. If Bunkerman and his friends have already been there, then why Minerva's letter is still hanging there, unopened. On the opposite, if they have never been there, then that doesn't explain the cookies, which are a clear wink to manga readers, nor the scratched room. I'm confused, because these elements just aren't coherent with each other, and that makes me uneasy. I'd exclude that the Glory Bell escapees didn't open the letter, or that a Minerva supporter came back and placed a new one, but then again those elements really don't make any sense? Any that I can understand anyway- I hope they'll come up with a good explanation in the next episosodes.
Back to why I don't think Bunkerman will show up in the next episodes: several elements from the shelter make me think that. The most evident is obviously the rotten cookies. If he's just out hunting, and he usually lives in the shelter, then I don't see why he would keep those moldy biscuits (if not to commemorate his comrades? Dunnot). Besides, the shelter as for how it's been displayed seems to have not been inhabited for a long time: all the crockery was neatly placed; besides from the biscuits, there was not a single hint of people living or having lived there like the food we saw in the manga- if there had been, the children would have surely noticed. Again, that confuses me. Everything is perfectly tidy and clean, making it more similar to the untouched, neat shelter the Glory Bell escapees found when they arrived there for the first time- except for a conveniently scratched room? Isn't that weird that the room and the biscuits are the very only hint that somebody has been there before? But I'm digressing.
Other things that make me think Bunkerman is not going to show up: the children are learning everything on their own. There won't be Bunkerman to show them the armory, to talk about the limited resources and stuff. I believe that them finding about all these things on their own is a further proof that the kids aren't going to meet him soon.
I don't know how the children are going to meet Bunkerman. I'll be frank, I'm very worried, because for the way the children meet Bunkerman to be as it is is of great importance for his character and character development; I worry to make them meet in a different context is likely to have negative consequences to his character growth.
Shifting back to Goldy Pond, I don't think we're getting there any time soon either? There was no hint to A08-63 in the letter. My personal guess is that the "Poachers" skretch was replaced with "help" because we're not getting any poacher this season, and they didn't want to introduce so early an element that is not going to be explained in this season. Of course "Minerva" could reveal it in their phone call- but then why not mention it at all in the letter, besides from ending the episode with a cliff hanger? Furthermore: would it make sense to introduce Goldy Pond before Bunkerman? Goldy Pond wouldn't be the same without him- besides the fact that it would be hard to integrate the story of Lucas and the other Glory Bell escapees, this is a friendly reminder that it's Bunkerman to both break Lewis' mask and later kill him.
Now, as for my personal guess? I think the children are going to leave the shelter and look for Minerva. First of all, that would explain why, in the opening, everyone has the go-out-shelter-coats:
That's the outfit Emma, Ray and later Gilda and Don wear when going out; it's an outfit we never saw the younger children wear in the manga. Another reason why I think that all the children are going to leave together is because it's the only way to protect them: they still can't be sure the shelter is a safe place (the manga reveals it isn't), so they can't leave the children alone in it. In the manga, they divide in two groups: Emma, Ray and Bunkerman leave the shelter, and Gilda and Don would have stayed to keep the children safe. For how things are in the anime, this becomes a problem. Let's say they decide to leave the shelter (and like, they will, otherwise the plot can't move on lol): Emma and Ray can't leave on their own, without Bunkerman to both guide and protect them; at the same time, they can't leave with the support of Gilda and Don, for that would mean leaving the children alone in the shelter. It's not only because leaving a group of less then nines alone would normally not be a good idea (these children are very smart, so maybe they'd manage to go on?), but they can't really know if the shelter will continue being a safe place: only because the demons haven't found it so far, that doesn't mean they can be sure they won't find it at some point; additionally, for what they know poachers are still after them. That's why I think the most logic progress of events will be for the children to leave the shelter together. Which, even though I stand for what I've said... Sounds like a very bad idea??? Not only the children keep travelling in this demon world- they also don't have weapons besides from bow and arrow? That's why I find the armory being empty one of the most senseless things- of course I want the children to be safe, but for the children to survive in demon forests completely unarmored sounds extremely unrealistic. I just hope they aren't going to kill one of the "irrelevant children" to prove how dangerous the world is, that would destroy me.
(I'm Chris.)
Ok, I think I covered everything! Thanks for asking! Let's hope together they won't mess this up for us :))

Alright
I finished HLITF season 1 for Kaga and I SWEAR TO ALL 12 ZODIAC GODS
VOLTAGE. PEAKED!!!! AT KAGA’S SEQUEL
THIS STORY IS AN ABSOLUTE
(Early warning: minor/major spoilers and a lot of rants/fangirling/thirst etc etc all bec I just absolutely love this story and I feel the need to share this love with everyone. Also, I keep seeing everyone hating on MC in this but I actually really liked her here and so I MUST defend her)
Okay
First of all look. loOK. LOOK AT THESE CGS!!!!
CAN YOU BELIEVE WE GET A HOT AND SEXY KAGA CG, A LITERALLY STEAMY ROMANTIC CG AND A BOMB AF STORY ALL FOR $3 EYE-
And oh my huedhaut dont even get me started on the story. It was absolutely on point. It has everything a HLITF story promises to have:
justice in the eyes of our straightlaced MC vs the PSD ✔️
Conflict btwn Kaga and MC precisely because of that ✔️
Our girl pulling a vanishing act bec she refused to compromise her values ✔️
the refusal of each side to back down and their love for each other TEARING THEM APART INSIDE ✔️
OUR GIRL SHOWING OFF HOW INSIGHTFUL SHE REALLY IS AND FINDING A SOLID AF LEAD ✔️
MC’S GROWTH in finding a somewhat compromise between her principles and what is required of her as a PSD detective ✔️
And of course, my absolute favourite: ANGSTY ANGSTY MY-WORLD-IS-ENDING-BECAUSE-MY-MC-IS-IN-DANGER-ANGSTY KAGA ✔️
Okay, I need to address the one thing that everyone just hates about this story en masse and it’s MC. Personally, I dont agree with her about the some parts, especially the interrogation because she did hinder an investigation and in law enforcement that is one big No-No but I do see where she’s coming from, especially with the surveillance thing and the whole copping out and literally running away to the countryside. I saw reviews abt her being completely naive but seriously, put yourself in the position of the one being spied. She’s so against it because to the suspect, what they’re doing could be harmful to him, especially so if he was innocent. I think as a person, she believes in the more publically-accepted justice - the kind of justice that everyone wants but is really very difficult to obtain.
And this is where we get to the beauty of this story. As per their MO, the PSD is ready to do whatever it takes to get the culprit even it means breaking the law. They’re desperate to get the culprit because people are actually getting hurt and the longer this guy gives them the slip, the more people are going to get hurt. Even in MSB, its been established that to the PSD, the end ALWAYS justify the means and they dont give a shit if they look like criminals for it. So this is where the conflict arises between MC and the PSD guys. For the PSD, there’s an opportunity where they might get the culprit but its illegal and for MC, what the PSD wants to do is too risky for something only based on suspicion; she wants to stay on the legal path but she has no lead whatsoever and time is not on either side. People dont seem to realise the weight of MC’s viewpoint and have a tendency to think of ‘officers doing something illegal’ as something as light as jaywalking or smt. No, these institutions have a wide reach and one misstep could bring harmful repercussions onto countless innocent people not to mention the implications of their actions on their integrity as an institution of the law and the integrity of the entire justice system. However, the PSD’s side is a lot more true to reality albeit in more complex situations: their duty beyond all else is to prevent crime and there are times when there really seems to be no way. I’ve been working in law for the past few years and this is a classic dilemma that has been simplified but quite well executed in this context. Justice is not as clear cut as the right way, the right end. The law may simply be black words on white paper but different circumstances dye it with their own colours. This is where MC is lacking. She’s like a freshman at law school - someone who truly believes in the importance of justice but actually has little idea what that actually entails. She is not entirely naive but more in a sense that she’s never been confronted with these kind of complex high-stakes situations (she worked in a police box before this for Ichthys’s sake) and that inexperience disables her from seeing and evaluating the entire situation from the PSD’s pov. For her, its like playing poker for the first time and she’s already betting with the million dollar chips.
The second thing I REALLY must defend her in is the whole quitting from the academy. For the love of Zyglavis, she did NOT run away just because Kaga told her she’s not suited for PSD, it was just the trigger. Lemme put it in a different scenario (btw this scenario is not meant to mirror the situation, its only meant to evoke how MC felt in the story) Imagine you live in a city and you and your significant other are living together. A pandemic has struck your city but everyone refuses to wear a mask and the government is even encouraging people not to wear a mask. You know that wearing a mask slows down the spread of the virus and you are trying to convince people to wear one but they just ignore you. The number of cases is dropping and people think its because they dont wear masks unlike other cities but you know that people should still wear masks or the numbers might spike. So you try to convince everyone to wear a mask and people start berating you for being so stupid as to believe that masks will slow down the spread of the virus when the numbers are dropping without the city wearing them. You go home and your significant other berates you for forcing other people to wear a mask and says ‘since you wanna wear a mask so badly, get out of my house and move out of town’ That’s what it felt like for MC: the absolute frustration + sadness from the rejection of what she truly believes in by the people she’s surrounded by. Time and time again in the story, she’s confronted with the fact that the justice she believes in is not the justice PSD serves. For someone who is working towards joining the PSD, that has to be killing her inside every time. It just serves as a reminder that she is not suited for PSD nor is she what PSD wants in a detective, something she has been struggling with since MS1 but she perseveres perhaps because of her dream to become a detective or because of her aspirations to someday be Kaga’s equal or at least be someone he considers he can rely on. I really believe it’s the second one, after all, it was his rejection of her that really broke her inside and finally convinced her to quit. That’s why if you buy the ending set, you’ll see in the extra stories that Kaga gets extremely angry AT HIMSELF that MC quit the academy. He knows that our persistent Kappa doesnt give up so easily, not even when he scolded her for ruining his interrogation. Its because all these factors built up and he was the one to push her over her limit. So yes, our girl is not fragile yall. She’s just been through so much and I honestly dont blame her for leaving like one order of R&R for our MC here, she deserves it thanks.
Okay, I need to end this soon cause its starting to get too long but what made me really love her here is the whole LIME thing. That part made love her so much because even when she quit on the academy, there’s still a fire inside her to do what it takes to achieve justice, even if it meant relying on the people she didnt agree with. Even when she was so broken inside believing that she’s not one of them, she’s not needed by them, she’s not worthy of helping them; she just wants to help!
IM SO FREAKING SOFT FOR HER BECAUSE THIS GIRL WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH IS STILL FIGHTING IN HER OWN WAY AND JKASHFHASKJHAKSHKJHGA BRB CRYING
ALSO
THAT BLOODY PHONE CALL OH MY FREAKING SCORPIO THAT PHONE CALL. I died when he told her that quitting is not an excuse to leave his side. THESE TWO EYE-
Okay, you have to read that phone call scene from both sides because then you’ll see how much these two are being stubborn because they still dont accept the other’s pov abt the case but at the same time how much they love and miss each other is gnawing at them inside AND THEYRE STRUGGLING TO HOLD ALL THOSE EMOTIONS BACK WHEN THEY HEAR EACH OTHERS’ VOICES OVER THE PHONE FREAKING KRIOFF TAKE THE WHEEL PLEASE
Anyways, I really enjoyed reading season 1 for Kaga, especially because of his MC - I see her actually growing from the small police box officer to a PSD cadet and the sequel, especially, shows promise in how she’s going to navigate the world of law enforcement and facing difficult choices. Our girl really decided to return to the academy without finding a proper middle ground between her values and what PSD requires of her but she showed determination to work on it so I really hope we get to see more of that in later seasons. Also, WHIPPED Kaga is my fav but soft Kaga is up there as well. MC SAYING HE SOUNDED SAD OVER THE PHONE AND HER TEARING UP I CANT. THESE TWO ARE BAD FOR MY HEART.
Okay, Im not sure what I’ll be reading next. I kinda wanna start on his season 2 but considering how amazing this season is for Kaga, Im really curious abt the other characters so I might start on them before starting any season 2s. Also, idk if I would make these long argumentative-ish essays a thing but just idk why, my brain is really good at spewing essays out when it comes to HLITF and I think its fuelled by the panic from all my unfinished work so yay
Thanks for reading!!!

The final bar? How gentrification threatens America’s music cities
Austin, Nashville and New Orleans have thrived on the success of vibrant music scenes. But as rents rise and noise complaints become more common, do they risk ruining what made them famous in the first place?
At a Sixth Street bar in the heart of Austin, Texas a pop up version of Sebs jazz club from the Hollywood hit film La La Land is being set up its blue letters yet to be switched on. Nearby, a replica of Breaking Bads Los Pollos Hermanos fast food restaurant has appeared, causing a minor Twitter frenzy.
These are just two of the attractions materialising in the city in time for the music and media festival South by Southwest (SXSW), and throughout the 10 days of the event it is hard to find someone who isnt wearing an official SXSW wristband worth $1,000.
What started 30 years ago as a celebration of Austins local music scene, though, is now in danger of harming the very thing that made it unique. SXSW brings in hundreds of artists from around the world, 200,000 visitors and $325.3m (250m) to the citys economy. Its success has helped Austin establish music as a fundamental part of its development, but at the same time, as many as 20% of musicians in this self-appointed live music capital of the world survive below the federal poverty line.
According to a recent study by the Urban Land Institute, the city is in the effective 11th hour of the endangerment of the live music scene, brought on by Austins rapid growth it is now the fastest growing city in the US in terms of population, jobs and economy.

Its a difficult reality for the city to confront. Austin is one of the three major US music cities, alongside New Orleans and Nashville, that have capitalised on this local culture at the risk of ruining the scenes that made them famous in the first place. In Austin, the local live music scene is now paying the price for its success. Brian Block, of the citys economic development office, says despite an apparent city-wide financial boom, local musicians income is at best stagnating, and possibly declining.
Hayes Carll, a 41-year-old Grammy-nominated artist who recently won Austins Musician of the Year, says that for most Texans, Austin is the mecca of music cities. It was where it all came together: the songs, the record stores, the community, the identity. It was the first place I went where I could say Im a singer-songwriter and they didnt ask me what my real job was.
Music lives throughout Austins 200 or so venues, the annual music awards and festivals, and the many brilliant artists including Townes Van Zandt and Janis Joplin who have called it home. It was where Willie Nelson allegedly reunited the hippies and rednecks when he first went on stage at the Armadillo World Headquarters in August 1972. Today, Austins love of local creativity is immortalised in folk singer Daniel Johnstons Hi, how are you? mural, depicting his iconic alien frog near the citys university.

But despite this rich history, long-standing venues in Austins downtown Red River District are being forced to adjust to an influx of new neighbours mostly expensive condos or hotels. Rising rents have forced venues like Holy Mountain and Red 7 to close, while noise complaints are an ongoing problem hotels offer earplugs for a better nights sleep.
Therere some less than wonderful aspects to the growth process, and I know a lot of friends who have had to leave Austin, says Carll, a Texan who has lived here for 12 years. Austin is going to have to fight to keep some of the things that made it special like the affordability and how you could be yourself and do whatever you wanted. When you become the hot cool city that everybodys moving to, some of that freedom can get pushed out.
The city government is keen to stress that theyre working to preserve the live music scene. In 2013 the Red River District was given its cultural title to highlight its local significance. Block says they are now implementing a Red River extended hours pilot programme in the hope that an extra hour of live music on the weekend will bring increased revenues to help cope with rising costs, and more paid work for the musicians.

The city is also revising its land development codes for the first time in 30 years in an effort to raise the profile of entertainment districts. There are other support systems that come from outside government too, such as Haam which provides access to affordable healthcare for low-income musicians. Music is very important to the culture, to the local economy and I think it will remain so. Hopefully we can get ahead of the issues we know are coming, Block says.
But some feel its too late. Im worried Austin will change negatively, says Carll. Its great that Austins identity revolves around music, and that the city government is trying to do things to correct it. But none of that will matter if musicians cant afford to live there, or the venues are shut down because of noise complaints, or you cant get to the venue because youre stuck in traffic on the highway.
New Orleans: music from cradle to grave

Across the state border in Louisiana, New Orleans is facing similar problems as it develops and gentrifies. There are fears that without local government actively supporting musicians, the scenes survival could be at risk.
How do you keep a [music scene] real and authentic and yet encourage people to get involved? Its a paradox, says Jan Ramsey, editor of local magazine OffBeat. Theres an authenticity to the music and the people who make it, and the integration of black and white culture here we never want to lose that.
John Swenson, journalist and author of New Atlantis, Musicians Battle for the Survival of New Orleans says the music accompanies you from the cradle to the grave; its born out of the neighbourhoods and permeates all levels of society. Jazz was born here, tracing back to the mixture of African drums and European horns played by slaves in the late 19th century; and part of its musical heritage is a long list of prodigious artists, from Louis Armstrong to James Booker.

This culture attracts some 10 million tourists to the city each year. But what is unique about it and gives the scene greater strength is how it has become an invaluable lifeline for the citys regeneration after the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
In the Spotted Cat, one of the long-standing venues on Frenchmen Street, manager Cheryl Abana talks quietly as a jazz singer performs to a crowded room. For a couple of years [after Katrina] it was pretty sad here and the music scene really helped out with trying to get everyones spirits up. It really helped build the city up again, she says.
One of the most successful programmes to support the creative community following Katrina was Musicians Village, devised by Harry Connick Jr and Branford Marsalis alongside Habitat for Humanity. Situated in the Upper Ninth ward one of the places hardest hit by the hurricane it is a community of homes built by volunteers to support displaced musicians. Its a symbol to musicians that my community will be there when I get back; were going to keep that tradition alive, says Jim Pate, executive director of the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity.
A decade on, and artists of all genres and ages live in the village, including some of the godfathers of New Orleans heritage like Little Freddie King. The musicians came back to New Orleans because music lived here, says Swenson.

Nashville: the original music city
In Nashville, Tennessee, just a few blocks away from the famous honky tonk highway of Broadway, mayor Megan Barry sits in her office overlooking the state capitol. She is surrounded by motifs of Nashvilles music history: theres a framed photograph of DeFord Bailey sitting on the steps of the Ryman auditorium, the first African American to perform at the Grand Ole Opry; and in the foyer hangs a painting by Chris Coleman of Kings of Leon. He gave it to Barry as a gift.
Music is everywhere. Although it has a heritage as influential as New Orleans, here it spreads further: from inside the mayors office and the governments music council, to pretty much everyone you meet in the city who either plays it, writes it or listens to it (every taxi driver I meet is a musician; my Airbnb host is a songwriter).
As soon as I mention the phrase music cities, Barry interrupts jovially: Well, I think theres only one! Music has been part of Nashvilles foundations since the 1800s when it established itself as a centre for music publishing. Its heritage goes back to the Fisk Jubilee Singers who were based here the African American a cappella band who were the first musical group to tour the world, raising money for freed slaves. Upon hearing them, Queen Victoria allegedly coined Nashvilles title as a music city, which is now plastered across Tennessee billboards.

In 1925, WSM radio station was founded, which went on to broadcast the Grand Ole Opry now the longest running radio show in the US that gave rise to some of the greatest names in country music. Music Row, the 200-acre area near downtown at its peak housed 270 music publishers, 120 record production agencies, 80 record manufacturing companies, 80 booking agencies and more. Elvis Heartbreak Hotel was recorded here at RCA in 1956; Bob Dylans Blonde on Blonde was recorded nearby at Columbia Recording studios 10 years later.
Now, the $10bn industry music industry provides 56,000 jobs, supporting more than $3.2bn of labour income annually. We cant undersell its importance to our overall economic viability and continued growth and prosperity, says Barry.
Nashville is projected to grow by 186,000 residents and 326,000 jobs in the next 25 years, and like Austin, has to confront uncomfortable growing pains in the form of gentrification. But music is firmly intertwined with the citys municipal plans for how it will develop in the future.

The city provides affordable housing for musicians, and music programmes for school children, as we know our graduation rates go up when kids are involved in music, says Barry. They go on and they have a career in music and then it feeds the job creation. Its about feeding that pipeline.
I think that although music evolves and changes, the ability for Nashville to grow and change with it has been part of our success.
At Dinos bar in east Nashville, 26-year-old musician Cale Tyson is sipping on a beer. He is one of thousands of artists who moved here because of its history. I feel like Nashvilles a town where musicians are treated really well. I dont think anythings closed off here, says the Texan singer-songwriter. In Nashville the competition and being around so many good artists forces you to work a lot harder.
People continue to migrate to Nashville because of this (about 100 a day), and this influx has inevitably changed the music scene for better or worse. The country music capital of the world which ignited the careers of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and Kitty Wells to name just a few is now home to a burgeoning hip hop scene in the citys so-called DIY clubs. Jack White moved in and set up a branch of Third Man records in 2009, while bands like Paramore, Kings of Leon and the Black Keys have all migrated here.
Nashville has even spawned a genre called bro country, where burly men sing about chewing tobacco and celebrate being a redneck (with lyrics that repeat red red red red redneck), their odd rap verses a world away from the original country music that formed the soul of this city.
But the commercialisation of Nashville has led to accusations that country music is dead. A few years ago US country singer Collin Raye made a heartfelt plea for the city to get back to its roots and remember the musicians who built and sustained the Nashville industry and truly made country music an American art form, he said. It needs to be that way once again. God Bless Hank Williams. God Bless George Jones.
And people are still trying to keep this alive. I dont think traditional country went away, says Brendan Malone who runs a traditional honky tonk an event celebrating country music in the east of the city. The fire was still kindling. It just needed to have some gasoline poured on it.
At Malones Honky Tonk Tuesdays, a man in a check shirt is barbecuing some ribs in the car park of the US army veterans club. Inside, ageing regulars sit at the bar nursing whiskeys to the sound of Hank Williams on the juke box.
In the main room, men and women of all ages wearing Stetsons and western shirts take turns two-stepping with each other as the band covers songs of Ernest Tubb and Red Foley. They perform against a backdrop of the US flag laid out in fairy lights.
Theres a sincere sense of pride in Nashvilles history here, despite how far the city and its culture has changed. With support from the mayors office to the local community, it seems Nashville took a bet on music and it paid off.

ENGL 1120
Reflective Cover Letter
When it came to this sequence, I learned a lot about how to use different modes of communication and different media to present the points I wanted to make, including using online presentations, brochures and pamphlets, and blogs. I liked being able to use different forms of media to present these points because it can make a world of difference based on who the audience is and what points you want to make to each specific audience. For example, the online presentation may be better suited when it comes to an audience you might not physically have access to as you can upload the video to a website or online resource that gives both the audience and the creator access to the document, you could also use a blog when the audience is older and more tech-savvy. A brochure or pamphlet could be used when you need to get a fair amount of information out in a short amount of time and can be done in passing, not necessarily in a full-on presentation style.
When it comes to using the Student Learning Outcomes, I feel like I learned to both integrate other positions and perspectives in my writing but I also learned how to state my opposing opinion in a respectful way that shows both sides of the argument. I also used research to support the points I have made in all of the arguments I’ve made with my sequence 2 assignments whether it be the SWA 2.1 or the MWA and that has come a long way from what I knew when doing the first sequence for the course.
When it came to considering the sources I used, I made sure to see what the goal of the organization was when it came to presenting their points and information. The sources may have been biased in one way or another but not in a way that detracts from the information. I also made sure to use sources that support each other and don’t counteract each other, but in a way that was still suitable for the information given and for the seriousness of my assignment and subject. I also used a conventional medium to present my argument by using a blog and I used the same blog that I previously used for the class.
I was able to incorporate my research into my writing but I don’t know how effective it was, as I have always struggled to incorporate my research into writing. I also did find a bias when it came to the sources I used but they weren’t biased in a way that counteracted the points I was making or in a way that made my assignment or work any less important. I do believe that my personal experiences and beliefs did guide my research and the questions I asked but I believe that changing the way I researched would not have given me the same results and could have given me inaccurate information. I did not have a change of belief or opinion based on this assignment and the research I did, I do believe that this has just strengthened my opinion and the reasons for my personal beliefs, though again, I am biased when it comes to this topic, as anyone who does have an opinion on it seems to be whether they have positive opinions or negative opinions on the specific topic of healthcare or reproductive care and abortion.
Overall, for my research and the things I have received from doing this assignment, I believe I have learned a lot, though I am still struggling with incorporating my research into my writing and to adequately do so, I believe I need to work a bit harder on learning the techniques on writing research papers and forming the research into a well-done paper that gets my point across and the information across well. I think that this assignment did strengthen my skills in these somewhat, but not as effective as it could have and I do not believe that this is the best my work in this department could have been. I think that this is the most trouble I have faced with any of the assignments we have done in English 1120 throughout the semester based on a lack of knowledge on my part and a lack of information as well.

ENG 1120
Abortion Access in the United States
When it comes to abortion access in the United States, while it is a right, there are still many issues with a woman’s access to abortions that can prevent her from receiving adequate healthcare or even an abortion, which can be a life-saving or life-changing operation. These operations can change a woman’s potential life path and the success she may face. There are currently laws even being put into place now and one that is very controversial is the Human Life Protection Act. This is a law that was passed in Alabama in May of 2019, that states that all unborn children are people and also bans abortion at any point during a pregnancy, the only exception to this is a detrimental health anomaly or if the pregnancy is to cause serious health risks to the woman carrying the fetus. Though these are steps in the right direction, the choice to abort should be offered no matter the case and this specific law doesn’t provide an exception to women if they were raped or victims of incest and at that point, the pregnancy would still have to be carried full term and couldn’t be aborted. This law also states that abortion is a felony when performed which is equivalent to rape or murder and those being caught performing abortions can face prison time anywhere from 10 to 99 years. (CNN, Michelle Lou)
When it comes down to the prospect of doctors being jailed for trying to provide patients with safe and adequate abortion services, there are surely going to be consequences. When it comes to access to safe abortions, a lack of safety can have dangerous and even deadly consequences. A statistic we can see parallels with is that there are higher death tolls when it comes to countries that have bans on abortion and this is seemingly due to the fact that women are being forced to take the matter into their own hands and are performing unsafe and harmful procedures on themselves because the laws in these countries are practically forcing them. One example of this is that in Africa, there are laws banning abortion for any reason or with few reasons justifying the laws. When it comes to unsafe abortions in Africa, between 2010 and 2014, 25% of abortions were considered unsafe and in 2012 alone, 7 out of every 1000 women had to be treated for complications and 1.6 million are treated for complications every year. (Sedgh, Gilda)
These statistics, while discussing complications in Africa can be used to look at some of the laws going into effect in the U.S., while also discussing that these issues can also end up affecting people here in New Mexico. Currently, New Mexico has seen a decline in clinics that perform abortions, going from 26 clinics to 20, then down to 9 abortion clinics, and 11 facilities in total that perform abortions. This has caused somewhat of a lack of access to abortion clinics. This could eventually cause maternal death cases, whereas we haven’t seen statistics stating that this may become an issue, with the current laws being put in place in other states, if our state were to adopt similar laws, this could become an issue. It has been noted in the Guttmacher Institute New Mexico State Facts, that some New Mexico residents have been forced to travel for an abortive procedure due to a lack of access here in the state. They also stated “In 2017, some 91% of New Mexico counties had no clinics that provided abortions, and 48% of New Mexico women lived in those counties.”, meaning that 48% of New Mexico women had to travel to receive an abortion, whether they traveled in state or out of state for these procedures. Though there are currently no bans in New Mexico on abortion, under the current administration, as a whole, abortion restrictions are more likely to occur, given that Trump is pro-life, he could start to make these changes, though he did say it comes back to the right of each individual state to decide, these changes have been made, especially when it comes to the reference of the laws being put in place in Alabama and the laws being introduced in Ohio and a few others.
I believe that these laws are dangerous and the rejection of these laws is absolutely vital to the safety of women in the United States and worldwide. There are many ways to get around these laws, but none of which are particularly safe, or legal when it comes to having to travel out of state or country, and none are affordable either. Not everyone can afford to travel out of state or country, take the time off work to leave and have a safe amount of recovery time based on what procedure is being performed. There are also countless issues with at-home abortions and unsafe abortions being performed as well.
When it comes to this graph provided by the Guttmacher Institute, the more restrictive the abortion laws in place, the less safe abortion procedures can get and this seems to be a direct correlation to at-home and under the table procedures being done.
Overall, there seems to be a large correlation to a lack of access to abortions and a death toll and complication rate, no matter where the abortion is being performed and introduction to new laws could influence this. When it comes to our current rights, states are introducing laws that are stripping women of this right and are causing deaths due to different reasons whether it be complications, abuse, or unsafe abortion procedures.
