sorry i WILL shut up about this (and start posting abt my new hawkes) but seeing "can you guys take a breath" and "decisions from 10+ years ago in southern thedas will not affect the current timeline set in north thedas" from specific blogs is genuinely wild. as if we don't literally live in a world where we are STILL just starting to face consequences to actions taken 10+ years ago, and as if US politics 10+ years ago did not have anyyyyy global ramifications for anyone outside of the US even 10+ years later. like. rivain, antiva, nevarra are all IN southern thedas wdym??? im half tempted to start actually listing out all of the things our decisions could have feasibly impacted 10 years later but seeing this take from blogs that genuinely still discuss the impact of the exalted marches on thedas hundreds of years later is WILDDDDDD

Team "would rather die than admit something's bothering them"
So for the first good chunk of their relationship, Bad Luck and Vash were more "fucking" than "dating". Bad Luck was really apprehensive about romantic entanglements, and had been taken advantage of by a friend, in the past. (While not THE reason he was kicked out of his community, it was definitely related.)
However, Vash-- aware of Luck's hesitance but not of the reasons why-- already had a little bit of a crush on him. So when Luck stupidly offered a FWB situation, Vash accepted, thinking he could be chill about it. He quickly realized, no, he could NOT be chill about it, and spent the next few months relentlessly pining and feeling guilty and wanting to broach the subject, but never saying anything.
Eventually, Vash's crush gets revealed, and by that point Bad Luck has kinda fallen in love with him and they get together and Bad Luck insists that it's all fine, water under the bridge. Truthfully, though, he feels a little betrayed, and has this sense of "why the fuck would you think that's a good idea" towards Vash, hanging over his head. But he also thinks he has no place feeling this way because he never told Vash why he was so hesitant (and still hasn't), and also he does love Vash now anyway, so there's really no point bringing this up now and messing with the status quo, right?
And that's just the beginning of their relationship. There's a whole bunch of other plot-related problems they never talk about until after things boil over. Eventually, they'll get their acts together and talk through everything, I promise. Eventually. It just, might take until after the plot's fully resolved for them to get there.

Just cannot forget that the show had a whole romantic subplot about Kevin being interested in Gwen but not up to making a move and just, never bothered with why. The issue at play was never actually addressed. Instead we just get a steady stream of Kevin not making a move despite his interest, while Gwen pushes him to make a move, and then Gwen finagles a move out of him and the show just, carries on like there was never something keeping him from making a proper move in the first place.
The closest we get is in the third season of AF, where we get a nice look at his mental health issues including some nasty self-worth issues, but even then the focus is less on 'wow Kevin is having A Time and this shows us some things about his character' and more as 'and here's how his response to his situation is affecting Gwen'.
Even in the fandom I've seen it treated more like a case of Kevin being whiny and selfish over nothing, like it didn't lead to him teaming up with Darkstar- something the heroes only ever do otherwise when in desperate need of help dealing with an actual and immediate threat to life.
Just, if you're going to base your drama around something, at least actually fucking resolve or acknowledge the cause of the issue, rather than just brushing it under the rug once you're bored with it.

Remind me to write about the concept of moe and its relation to RGU. Specifically about how "moeru" is a homonym that can both mean "to sprout/blossom" and "to burn" and the slang meaning for something that is cute and inspires protective feelings, and how that connects to the rose and general flower motifs, how Anthy is portrayed throughout the series and her relationship with Utena, Mikage's whole...thing (especially with (the way he remembers?) Mamiya also paralleling the idea of a helpless moe anime character, which also relates to the "Rose Bride"), etc etc.

i think a lot of people don’t always realize the difference between “this is how i interpret canon” and “this is how i want to write it because that’s what’s fun to me”. a lot of times the latter is all headcanons or AUs are, not an indication of what the writer thinks “is” or “should be” canon
more power to those who are super tuned into actual canon and know these details like the back of their hand, but sometimes people just wanna use a series as a sandbox, not a ruleset. genuinely nothing but respect for people who ARE that knowledgeable, but i and a lot of other people are just here to have fun with characters we enjoy—and want to put them in more accessible settings

I ain't no chess master or nothin', but I'm pretty sure only rank amateurs'd end up with that setup. Assumin' the piece in Batman's hand (which looks like a knight ta me) is still in play, it's still an inevitable draw.
Chess nerds, feel free ta' correct me if I'm wrong!
Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful cover, but it's like havin' a wrong equation on the blackboard in a classroom scene!
(Art sampled from "Batman/Superman: World's Finest" Vol. 1 #15 variant cover by Walt Simonson and Michael Atiyeh)

Head canon: Thalia and Percy are both very awkward when it comes to receiving gifts cause neurodivergent and childhood trauma and what not. So they decided to only get each other weird things for holidays so they can just laugh instead of feeling all this pressure.
Example.
Thalia: Alright Perse, what'd you get me?
Percy: Well, since you've sworn off men and have decided to remain independent forever I got you these so you can still reproduce.
Percy: *holds up a handful of pine tree seeds*
Thalia: *snorts*
Thalia: *dying XD* What the fuck, Percy!
Percy: Do you like them?
Thalia: *wipes away a fake tear* This is the most Thoughtful gift I have ever received!
Percy: *Also dying*
Thalia: *Now southern for some reason* Give me my babies!
Percy: *places them in a forest green pouch with a little lightning bolt embedded on it*
Thalia: *hooks them to her belt* Thank you! I will cherish these forever!
Percy: You're welcome! Now what'd you get me?
Thalia: I also got something that represents you!
Thalia: *Brings out a large yellow object*
Percy:.... Is that a wet floor sign???
Thalia: Yup!
Percy: How does this represent me?
Thalia: Cause you're basically just a walking wet floor sign.
Percy: *loses it* I feel like I've just been insulted!?!
Thalia: *moves the sign away* What do you not want it?
Percy: *lunges for it* No I want it! It's mine!
Thalia: *laughing* alright then!
Percy: *hugging his new friend* One question though.
Thalia: Yeah?
Percy: Did you steal the wet floor sign?
Thalia: That is definitely a possibility!
Percy: *laughs*

// one day I will find a way to write an isekai that isn't awful
except I have never figured out how to make their previous life matter to the point where it doesn't A. make them insanely and boringly overpowered or B. entirely not matter at all
