Just cannot forget that the show had a whole romantic subplot about Kevin being interested in Gwen but not up to making a move and just, never bothered with why. The issue at play was never actually addressed. Instead we just get a steady stream of Kevin not making a move despite his interest, while Gwen pushes him to make a move, and then Gwen finagles a move out of him and the show just, carries on like there was never something keeping him from making a proper move in the first place.

The closest we get is in the third season of AF, where we get a nice look at his mental health issues including some nasty self-worth issues, but even then the focus is less on 'wow Kevin is having A Time and this shows us some things about his character' and more as 'and here's how his response to his situation is affecting Gwen'.

Even in the fandom I've seen it treated more like a case of Kevin being whiny and selfish over nothing, like it didn't lead to him teaming up with Darkstar- something the heroes only ever do otherwise when in desperate need of help dealing with an actual and immediate threat to life.

Just, if you're going to base your drama around something, at least actually fucking resolve or acknowledge the cause of the issue, rather than just brushing it under the rug once you're bored with it.

A/N: Ughhh I have been having literally 0 motivation for writing, kind of like an art block. I wanna write so much but something just prevents me lmao... But this man, I swear. My man is an attorney, he hasn't been focusing in training or being physically fit all that much. He does like to keep himself in decent shape though, because healthy body equals a healthy mind

He's not tall per se, more like average height, definitely under 180 centimeters

He's a minimalist. He doesn't have anything "extra" in his apartment, just the necessities

Speaking off, his wardrobe probably isn't huge either. Maybe a basic suit or two, so he can wash the other and still have the other one wearable. Otherwise his wardrobe is filled with mostly casual comfortable clothes. He values practical clothes, too

I genuinely think that TERFs do have really cool relationships with gender. As I mentioned in those tags, the quickest way to explode a group of TERFs is to get them to start talking about their own relationships with gender, and see how vastly different it is, and watching them stab each other in the back over it. So I told them to ramble away about how they view gender, as long as they stayed the fuck away from the rest of the blog WHICH THIS ANON CLEARLY FUCKING IGNORED.

I am a huge supporter of detransitioning. This is... surprisingly... not a very common stance in the trans community, and it breaks my fucking heart. Like, I get it. I understand why. A LOT of detransitioners, like the person in this ask, end up weaponizing their feelings of gender against other trans people.

My support of transition comes from the intersection of two very central beliefs of mine:

Everyone should explore their gender without feeling a need to commit! This is a pretty common belief in the trans community! Damn near universal in fact! We even have a fun little term we use for people who decide to play around with gender, only to end up a bit closer to where they started and being perfectly happy with that: Cis+. Someone who is cis, but at least put in the work to understand the trans experience, and actually CHOOSE to remain Cis instead of just defaulting to it with societal pressure. Many trans people are much more comfortable around 'Cis+' people, because they know these are people who have taken the time and put in the work of being an ally. Self examination isn't easy, especially not publicly, and doing so is genuinely one of the strongest ways a Cis person could ever show their support.

It is never too late to transition. This is also a pretty common belief in the trans community! It is... sadly not quite as universal though. But it is something very important that needs to be said. You could be 80 years old, sitting in a retirement home, and go "You know what? I think I'd rather wear a dress and be treated like a lady. I don't want to be buried as a man." And I think every single trans person should have that freedom!

I was discussing this with @thydungeongal the other day, far more paraphrased than this post, and she said something incredible that has been knocking around in my head ever since.

"Gender is an ongoing process"

Those five words they said to me sum up my feelings far more than this entire post could. Gender IS an ongoing process. My gender has changed SO MUCH over the past three decades. From the straightjacket of assigned gender that I was once forced into; to the very stylish and still lovable finely tailored suit of femininity that grew a little too stuffy to wear constantly, even though I do still enjoy it and try it on from time to time; to the wonderful and freeing losely fitting clothing of being aegogender, finally feeling free to be myself and just act naturally and feel natural without having to keep up an appearance!

And I think, there is no length of time you can try out being trans, and trying out new genders, before eventually coming to the realization you were cis all along. Even if you started HRT. Even if you got SRS. Heck, I don't even think you should have to call yourself trans to do either of those things in the first place, why would I be upset that someone did them and then realized they weren't trans? No single moment in your life should EVER lock your gender in place into some unchanging, set in stone thing.

So I support detransitioners completely, with my entire heart. They deserve just as much support as every other 'Cis+' person out there.

So anon, while many people may hate you and lash out at you for detransitioning, I want you to know, that I am not one of them. It sounds like your detransition might have been forced by peer pressure, which is heart breaking to hear. No one should ever force their own gender expectations on another. I hope that wasn't the case. I hope you came to the decision yourself, after realizing whats right for you. I will never give you hate for your detransition.

Maybe in your world Nonnie, but not in mine and I'm not entirely sure why you felt the need to come and complain about it on my blog, but here we are!

It makes perfect Narrative sense for Tommy to still be around in the back end of the season, and even possibly into the start of season 8. The show is telling a story of Bucks bisexuality, so why woould they get rid of Tommy so quickly? To do so would do a disservice to that story - a massive disservice. I'm guessing you're hating on this relationship becasue you see it getting in the way of Buddie, rather than viewing it as a vital step on the route to Buddie.

Lets put it into simple terms - Buck figures out he's bi and then begins to explore that newly discovered aspect of himself. The show has also taken the time to move Buck from someone who didn't really do relationships (of the long term variety), into someone who is looking for love and looking for forever. But in amongst all of that, he hasn't really had a healthy long term relationship, the closest he had to that was with Ali and that one didn't last especially long and she wasn't around for most of it

Buck isn't ready for an endgame queer relationship right now - he is still to immature from a relationship perspective - especially a queer relationship perspective. If Eddie was available and he and Buck got together - as they are as characters right now, they wouldn't last - they're not in a position to do so successfully. And this isn't me suggesting that they need to have figured everything out before they get together - to have fully healed etc, because thats neither realistic or something I would want to see - what it means is that they both need to get to a point where they are in a healthy enough place to put in the work together, understand each others flaws, and their own flaws and proactively work towards overcoming those things together and as of right now, neither of them are - they are getting their and moving rapidly in the right direction, but Buck needs to learn a bit more, and in many ways learn how to be with a man, before he will be ready to start anything with Eddie.

The growth we're getting to watch Buck go through right now - in the aftermath of the lightening strike, his reckoning with his mortality etc and the fact he's now off the hamster wheel and moving forward - in a healthy and faster way than we've ever seen from him, speaks volumes.

Tommy is also a far better developed love interest than any other love interest we've seen Buck (or indeed Eddie) with (Abby excepted but she was a main, so had her own purpose on the show)- I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling like I know Tommy more after 3 episodes plus what we got from the begins episodes he was in, than I managed to ascertain about Taylor or Ana or Nataila etc!

Not to mention, him figuring out he's in Love with Eddie as part of this process is going to be fun to watch. The show has made no bones about re-enforcing at every. Single. Opportunity how close, how entwined and how important Buck and Eddie are to one another - the show has quite literally been prioritising that over anything else Buck and Eddie related - Buck was there front and centre - placed very much on an equal footing with Shannon and even Eddie himself in 7x01, and then Eddie was the centre of Bucks bi arc in 7x04 and in his coming out in 7x05. They are literally moving chess pieces into place to tell an amazing story of queer love in later life and creating an epic slow burn for the ages.

And finally, Eddie is, as far as we know at this point in time, still in a relationship with Marisol - why shouldn't Buck get to explore who he is and what he want's within a relationship rather than sitting pining on the sidelines - that isn't healthy in any way shape or form. Eddie still has stuff to figure out about himself.

Even Tim and Oliver have stated in interviews that this is about a happy and joyful queer experience of figuring out bisexuality and therefore within that is giving the narrative a romcom vibe. But they have also stated that Tommy isn't going to be around for that long - that he is very much a narrative device.

It is worth pointing out that timelines on various aspects of the narrative may have been shifted because of the season 8 renewal - but that is only going to help tell the story because now it doesn't have to be rushed. I'm still fully expecting some form of feeling realisation from one of them by the end of the season (my money is on Buck), setting up for season 8 and Buddie going canon either 8a finale or early into 8b.

You have every right to dislike Tommy if thats you jam - have at it, but don't come to my blog and expect me to agree with you. I'm not a multi shipper by any means - I'm a one ship kind of gal and I will be a Buddie shipper until the end of time, but within that, I am here for amazing storytelling and amazing queer storytelling - the like of which I've not had the privilege to watch on my screen before - especially one that hits so close to home. Its a really important story to tell and I'd rather it not be rushed.

And if you had to pick - I'm pretty sure you'd rather have Tommy around for a bit longer that Marisol!!!!

Why I believe that House's story ends with tragedy post season 8 - an opinion piece:

Hello everyone, this is a remake of a post I did a couple years ago on an older blog. If you find it familiar, I'm sorry if this one is a bit messier than the original. It's been longer since my last rewatch.

So, let's recap the finale of House MD: Treating a drug addict patient results in House examining his life, his future and confronting his own personal demons.

As we know, House ends up faking his death in this episode, after going on a 2 day drug fuelled bender with his drug addicted patient. The patient ends up overdosing & dying, and House remains to confront his 8 seasons worth of demons. At the end he escapes the firery scene & fakes his death by switching his medical records. After all of that, he runs away with Wilson to spend his remaining 5 months to live.

Before House replies to what Wilson is saying, he thinks for a moment. I want try & piece together what was going through his head at that moment evaluating his life:

1. Every romantic relationship with House ends in heartbreak

Every single one of these relationship was ended because House either deliberately behaved in a way that would push the love interest away or by breaking their trust. House was never actively malicious towards his partners, but he was not a very good partner. He was self centered, self loathing, very much focused on himself (even when trying to be as supportive & caring as possible) but at the end of every relationship, the women understood that they could not remain in a Healthy relationship with House. Either because he refused to tackle his addiction, his psychological distress & trauma or be honest with them and respect them as equal to him in their relationship.

2. House's relationship with his family

House was severely abused by his father, a military man, both physically & emotionally. His mother did not protect him from said abuse (probably because of feeling deeply guilty about her affair that gave birth to Gregory), which lead to him growing in an abusive houshold that was built on lies, dysfunction & distance (which partially explains his behavior in the show, especially his approach to human nature: "Everybody Lies"). House was never really close with his parents, so it would make sense that he would not rely on them for support in any way, not even in a life or death situation such as him feeling at his lowest in every aspect of his life. In addition to that, he may even doubt how much his loss would effect his parents if something were to happen to him.

3. House's suicidal ideation

House is shown numerous times in the show to not reject the option of ending his life. He actively tries to commit suicide twice during the show (Merry Little Christmas, season 3 episode 11 // Simple Explanation, season 5 episode 20), ponders it in the season finale (Everybody Dies, season 8 episode 22) but decides against it, choosing to fake his death instead.

In addition to that, he also indulges in self-harm in the form of cutting himself (also "Merry Little Christmas" & "Nobody's Fault"), intentionally hurting his limbs (leg - "Under My Skin", hand - "After Hours").

Like Wilson said, House cannot go back from that decision (similarly to how you can never come back from suicide). He can never have access his addictions: puzzles (medicine) & escapism (Vicodin & other drugs). We know how House gets without his meds, he becomes... A shadow of himself. Sometimes it's a violent dark figure, sometimes it's an apathetic & silent husk, sometimes it's a dark creature screaming in agony, sometimes it's just House, but something is off. Without constant puzzles, dissecting human nature & feeding his ego & emotional needs, he's lost.

Unlike other characters, like Dexter Morgan from the Showtime series "Dexter" House never treats suicide like it is somehow "beneath him":

Compare & contrast that to House's reaction to Taub pleading with House to try & understand Wilson's decision to discontinue his cancer treatment & to die with dignity:

Season 8, Episode 21

Just the thought of Wilson passing away before his time triggers House's suicidal thoughts. He disregards the patients & visitors in the background, the colleagues that may hear, Taub himself, everyone. This, in my opinion was the start of the "nothing else matters anymore" mindset. House was already at the end of his rope, and losing the person he loves more than anything else in the world was just... Too much.

4. House doesn't see a future without Wilson

In season 6, Episode 10, House refuses to be present during Wilson's surgery at first:

Wilson: I want you to be there

House, after thinking: No.

Wilson: Why?

House: Because if you die, I'm alone.

House cannot fathom the possibility of witnessing Wilson die. He cannot even consider for a moment to stand before Wilson's lifeless body & realizing that this is it, he is completely & utterly alone in this world.

We see multiple times that House not only cares deeply about Wilson, he is also dependant on him, to the point of the relationship often becoming toxic for both of them (hurting other relationships, sabotaging new ones, need for validation of both the relationship itself & both of them of each other individually, indulging unhealthy behaviors towards others etc).

But we all remember how that situation concluded:

House watching over Wilson as a big bright light washes over him as he loses consciousness. To me, this seems like foreshadowing for what's to come after the season finale, after those last 5 months.

Another thing that caught my eye was him stating "I can live without Kyle" (season 8, episode 20) when referring to a guy that stole Wilson's prom date when he was in highschool. He wanted to immitate said 'Kyle' for the entire episode, trying his best to act uncaring, aloof, "alpha". Essentially, to act out of character. But numerous times in said episode, Wilson still displayed the very same characteristics that both House and the audience love so much about him. So House affirms that he cannot live in a world without Wilson, just the way he is.

5. House is willing to preform a "mercy kill" for his close friends

In the episode "The Dig" (Season 7, Episode 18), House assures Thirteen, who's diagnosed with Huntington's, that he is willing to euthanize her when her Huntington symptoms worsen (this happens after Thirteen confides in House, telling him about how she killed her own brother after his Huntington symptoms worsened. House's reaction left Thirteen shocked, hurt & disappointed, as it seemed like he did not care at all. But we know he did, very deeply).

House gets a positive reaction from Thirteen, which is later also approved to the audience & the people in House's funeral when she states in her eulogy: "He was willing to kill me". Wilson, as we know, is also in the audience. He then knows that House is willing to preform a "mercy kill" on a loved one. He also mentions it in the finale:

I want us to return to the "I'm dead, Wilson" scene:

House is at a point in which he feels like he has nothing left to lose. He has no close friends that give him meaning besides Wilson, no family to rely on, no romantic relationship seems to last, he feels powerless when it comes to his addiction to drugs, he is facing jail time after accidently breaking an MRI machine with Foreman's ticket gift which he flushed down the hospital's toilet (which may as well cause him to be fired & lose his job and/or license to practice medicine, in addition to the fact he faked his own death).

We already know that House is prone to depression, self harm & suicidal ideation (including attempts), we've covered that he is willing to end a loved ones life if there is no medical solution to their health related state, we know that Wilson is not (to our knowledge up to the last episode) willing to go through any other treatment & we know that House cannot live without Wilson.

Adding all of this up & remembering the foreshadowing of Wilson's health related issue & House's course of action (watching over him as a bright light covers the screen as he loses consciousness) I believe that after those 5 months, when the cancer gets really bad, House will take Wilson's life... And then, his own.

His keys clinked and jangled as he took them from his pocket. Barely had he closed and locked the door, he heard you calling for him.

“It’s me.”

He came down the hall to the living room. The sight of you curled up on the sofa, with a copy of What to Expect When Expecting, actually warmed him somewhat.

“So you’re actually reading it?”

You nodded. “I want to be a good mother.”

He came around and plopped down on the sofa, a sigh came from his lips. Taking off his glasses, he squeezed his eyes shut.

“You had better be.” He mumbled.

“You took the job.” You stated. There was no question lingering in your tone.”

“Yup.” Swallowing, he exhaled through his nose.

“You’ve done many jobs. You’re a pro.”

He slid you a look.

Your open, earnest face made him feel something. It made his stomach lurch.

“You move through these men like a shark, they are all the prey. You are the alpha hunter, alpha predator.” You corrected yourself.

He chuckled. “Thanks for the pep talk sweet cheeks.”

“No, you listen its true.” You pressed your lips together. “I’ll never forget the night, I thought I was just a passing fancy for you.”

He crossed his arms. “I’m interested. What night was that.”

If he was honest with himself, your candid honesty almost made him sever his ties with you. You always cut through his bullshit, but you are soft and cute so he stuck around.

“It wasn’t our best moment. It was when I found out about your name.”

“That night.”

He took his glasses off, squinting as he looked through them before putting them back on.

“Was a lifetime ago now.”

He leaned against the counter and slowly sipped at his whiskey.

“Nick!” A shrill voice called his name, his real fucking name. Anger began to coil and knot in his stomach. Inwardly, he groaned as he turned his back to the bar.

“Nick! Didn’t you see me?” A hand tugged on his arm.

He gave a sidelong glance. “Yes.”

“No warm welcome? We could have some fun.”

“Not interested. Go and find some other warm bed.”

“You’re really an asshole Nick. You know that?”

“Yup.” He chuckled and took another sip of his whiskey.

He smirked as he drained the last of it.

“Phew! I am finally here, damn uber.” Your light voice, shifted his mood.

He turned, a smile splashed across his face.

“Should have flashed him, might have driven faster.” He chuckled as you smacked his arm. “Ok, stop this squawking and let me get a feel of you. You are looking good tonight.”

A few steps later and soon you were against him. He held you close. Something, he never imagined enjoying on a regular basis.

“Can I ask you something?” You whispered close to his ear.

He pulled back and shrugged. “Sure.”

“Why did she call you Nick?”

He made a face, eyeing the crowd. Reaching out, he pulled you to him loving the squeak that came from you.

“Long story, don’t feel like sharing but its my name. My real name.”

You pulled pack just enough to give him a playful look. “Oh, so you are a Nick or a Nicky. I…”

His anger beat hard in his stomach. Women always caused problems.

“You call me that in the fucking club or the bar;” His words sliced through yours. “You will regret it.”

Your playfulness dropped, your bottom lip began to tremble. “I, I won’t.”

“That’s my good girl.”

He pulled you to him again, now he was gentle. He even pressed a soft kissed your temple. “Cheer up sweet cheeks.” He added in an equally soft tone, though an edge still remained. “This is serious.”

“Ok, I understand.” You said softly, he felt you tremble.

He patted the back of your head. “Good. I just don’t want you or I ending up with bullets in our heads over it.”

“Ok, ok. I promise.” You whispered.

Pulling back, he gave you his most winning smile. “Come on, cutes let’s get you one of those fancy pink drinks and put a smile back on your pretty face.”

He pulled on a sweater.

“So you get to pick someone on the crew?”

He nodded. He ran his fingers through his hair. “Yeah. And the sooner I ask him, the greater the chance he says yes.”

“You said he liked you.”

“Yeah. It’s like having your guard dog behave.” Hr paused. “One day he could just snap at you.”

“Oh.” You pressed your lips together.

“Or he continues to be a ‘good boy’ and he does his tricks on command.”

“So you can trust him?”

“I don’t trust anyone.”

You rose your eyebrows.

He pulled you close, he rubbed your side. “You’re different. I knocked you up. You’re mine.”

“I had better be.”

He gave you an easy smile. “Now, why don’t you order some take out.” Your eyes lit up. “Save some for me. And I’ll be back, one step closer to this job giving us the new start we deserve.”

You nodded. “Are you leaning one way or to another for what I order.”

“Nah, I trust my pretty girl.” He kissed the top of your head.

He headed toward the door. Donning his jacket, he wrapped his fingers around his keys.

He left his leather jacket in car, before he hit the sidewalk and made his way into the pub. He may be a proud French Canadian but Terrance loved Irish pubs. And O’Mallory’s was the best in town.

Sliding in, he smiled. He knew it. He already spotted him in a corner, cue stick in one hand and a lopsided smile splashed on his face. A perky little blonde was looking all doe-eyed up at him. He knew how to charm them. He did it with the massive expanse of his body and that lopsided smile. They always fell for it. He strode over through the wafts of Irish whiskey.

Terrance looked over as he approached, the smile dropped.

“Hey chief, did you wanna like play a game of pool and meet Erin here?” He glanced down at the girl and winked.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “We gotta talk.” He gave a curt, forced smile to Erin. “Go and keep your cute little head occupied while the men talk.”

She looked confused.

“It’s ok, doll. We can play after. Wait for me by the bar.”

“Ok.” She was all smiles again and bounced away.

Seeing one of the booths. “There.” He pointed to one.

Taking, his glasses off for a moment he rubbed the bridge of his nose. He hoped Terrance wasn’t too far into the drinks.

Terrance almost couldn’t squeeze into the booth, he watched with a raised eyebrow. But then Terrance fit and slid to be directly in front of him.

He giggled. “Did you like that Adam? I called you Chief.” Another giggle came from him.

“It was fine. Now focus, we have to talk.”

“Oh! Ok. I am serious.” His face became more composed.

“I got a job for the two of us. If you’re game.”

A huge smile splashed on Terrance’s face. “You.” He pointed at him. “You want me to join you for a job.” The table shook as he made a kind of happy movement, he assumed.

“I do. But its a rough job. Not nice.”

“They never are.” His brows knit together.

He had to give the giant of a man credit, he was right there.

“True.”

“But with you, it will make it better.” He smiled again.

“This is gonna be a group effort. We can’t let the others know that we know each other.”

“Why?” Confusion washed over the man’s face.

He shrugged. “It’s just that kind of job.”

“Oh, ok. Since it will be a rough job. Will it be a good pay day?”

He nodded. “Very good. Even more reason for them to not know that we know each other.”

“Ok, chief I can do that.”

“I’m serious.”

“I am too. I don’t know you.” He almost looked sad, as he leaned in close. “So what’s the job?”

“Babysitting some twelve year old. Will last twenty - four hours tops, and we get roughly eight million a piece.” He told him in a low tone.

His face completely dropped. “Babysit, chief?”

“Kidnap.” He whispered.

“I thought so.”

He could literally see a light bulb above the man’s head.

“Then why do you need me?”

“To carry her from point a to point b.”

“I won’t have to get mean will I?”

He shook his head. “Nah, this will be a super easy job. That’s why I want you.”

A smiled dispelled the sadness. “Thank you, chief.”

“So?”

“Sure. I need the money. But I won’t hurt the girl.”

“You won’t have to.”

“Good.” He looked pleased. “When?”

“Two weeks. The crew has to be put together and get the materials I will let you know when its all ready.”

“Ok, good. Because I want to get to know Erin a little better.” He looked over his shoulder with a smile.

“Focus. This is serious. Are you really game?”

Terrance looked back at him and nodded. “Yes, chief.”

“Good. I’ll be in touch.”

Inwardly, it annoyed him that he needed him. But it was better then having some psycho who happens to have muscle that could lose his shit and make the job go sour.

“You can go back to Erin now.”

“Thanks chief.” He smiled, and once the table shook as he excitedly left the booth.

He snuck back into the apartment. He couldn’t stop from smiling as he saw that you lit candles and placed the take out in a nice matter. But he wondered where you were.

Taking a walk to the bedroom, his ears perked up when he heard soft singing. He stopped at the door way and peered into the bedroom. There you were, in a damn sexy dress. It still looked great on you.

It made your small bump prominent, that was his. He did that you. He smirked broadly. That was fucking why he needed that fucking eight million.

If Ai had lived, what kind of parent do you think she would have been to teenage Aqua and Ruby?

luckily for you anon, I have spent a truly healthy [<- lie] amount of time thinking about this!!! This is going to inevitably dip into how Ruby and Aqua are both changed by having her in their lives just because that obviously matters to how she and the twins interact but... honestly at this point if you're following me, my bi-weekly unhinged essays about the Hoshinos are what you're here for.

Also worth noting before I get into it that I'm purposely not thinking too hard about Current Things in the manga like the documentary Gotanda was working on or the DVDs........ we know so little about them I can't really factor them into my rambles here lol so consider this just my most ideal happy end AU for the Hoshinos.

Anyway, I think it goes without saying that Ai would continue being an excellent mom to Aqua and Ruby. There would likely be some bumps in the road following B-Komachi's dome performance as her fame and increased demand puts pressure on her time and energy but Ai's priority is and will always be her babies so I can definitely see her and Miyako having a Stern Talk with Ichigo at some point to make sure Ai isn't overbooked to the extent that she can't spend time with them lol.

I also have a totally self indulgent AU based on Emiya Gohan that lives in my head, based around the framing device of Ai wanting to learn how to cook so she can make proper food for the twins as they grow up... my read of Ai is that she has a lot of issues relating to food security as a result of the abuse & neglect she went through, so being able to make good food for her own children and sort of rewrite her own relationship with food and cooking would be really healing for her.

Something also interesting to consider is the question of whether Ai would have been able to work through enough of her baggage regarding expressing her love to Aqua and Ruby... it takes such a desperate a raw moment for her to finally conquer that fear in canon that it's hard for me to imagine it happening in anything less than an equally cathartic moment, you know? At the same time, I really love the idea of Ai's slow progress towards healing eventually allowing her to do it without that kind of urgent pressure... instead of dying, Ai lives so hard she can eventually overcome that fear by her own strength!!!

I also think there would be a lot more moments like Ai and Ruby's dance with both of the twins – moments of Ai helping them both to untangle the trauma and baggage they carry from their past lives just through the simple act of loving and supporting them as their mother. Both Ruby and Aqua are explicitly described as being children "who never had a mother in the real sense" before their rebirth – for Sarina, she suffered the emotional abuse and neglect of living with a toxic mother who centered and prioritized her own feelings of grief and pain to such a degree that she completely abandoned her dying daughter. For Gorou, he grew up in the shadow of his mother's death as a result of childbirth complications, blaming himself and carrying the burden of his grandparents' grief and expectations in ways that are implied to have strained his relationships with them and left him without a real mother in his life.

Not only is this a healing experience for the twins, it's also ugely cathartic for Ai, too. As I've mentioned before, Ruby's "it's okay for me to dance!" scene with Ai is soooo incredibly powerful because it's about these two victims of toxic motherhood finding safety, healing and empowerment in the wholly loving and supportive parent/child relationship they build together. In general, the Hoshino family is a safe place where these three people who suffered abuse, neglect and the absence of loving mothers could find a place to heal and be loved.

Because of this, while I don't think that Aqua and Ruby would be hugely different on the surface going into their teens, a ton of stuff under the hood would be massively impacted. I like to think that growing up with Ai as a positive influence in their lives would have allowed them to essentially lay Gorou and Sarina to rest much sooner than in canon – not to forget or erase those memories, necessarily, but to definitively move on as their own people, having purified Gorou and Sarina's lingering regrets and trauma and being able to wholeheartedly embrace their new happiness as Aqua and Ruby.

This also means that they both have a much healthier relationship with Ai, in a lot of ways. I don't think they'll ever stop putting her on a bit of a pedestal but more in the way that a lot of people do if they grow up with a loving and good mom. On that note, I also like to think that with Gorou's weird baggage not causing such a conflict that Aqua might actually start calling Ai "mom"....... it makes me so depresso that he never did.....!!!

Without the weight of Ai's death hanging over them and her full and loving support at their backs, Aqua and Ruby still find their way into the entertainment industry, though for different reasons. Without his guilt getting in the way of doing things he enjoys, Aqua can admit to himself that he enjoys acting and tentatively pursues it through his childhood as the protégé of Gotanda again but in happier circumstances. He has similar initial hurdles as he does in canon wrt comparing himself negatively to Ai and underselling his strengths, but Ai would have a good talk with him about valuing what he brings to the table and not worrying about matching up to anyone else. Eventually, he becomes pretty focused on like, weirdo ass self produced projects he does a lot of the work on (acting, directing and producing) that don't make a huge splash in the mainstream necessarily but are well beloved in niche and horror circles and Aqua's happy with his work entirely because it's his and he's happy to make it, which is most important.

Ruby follows a similar track as she does in canon with becoming a member of the second generation of B Komachi, still driven by love and admiration for her mom but from a much healthier and happier place. Rather than feeling like she has to live up to Ai's image in her absence, she is inspired by Ai's presence in her life, her active support and encouragement and her boundless love and excitement to see her kids do what makes them happy. The canonical B-Komachi gen 2 still come together in mostly the same ways because I love them too much to separate them but this time, they're directly mentored by Ai and go full force through the industry with her support.

Eventually, I do think the three of them go public about their family - probably around the time the twins have graduated from high school, just to properly allow them the chance to be relatively normal kids without the scandal and pressure of being Ai's children hanging over their heads. It definitely causes a bit of an explosion, but I think by then Ai would have successfully transitioned from being purely an idol and would be more of a general household name/celeb, so there isn't as much outcry, but it definitely still stirs up some trouble that she and the kids have to weather.

At the end of the day, though, her presence in their lives would be a huge boon to them and it results in all three of the Hoshinos being much happier and healthier people. This response uh got a way from me a little and turned into like a whole AU pitch but what are we here for if not to delulu ourselves about scenarios where the Hoshinos could be happy..............

How I entered the ship, and what I see in Zutara

I want to focus more on the positive things regarding A:TLA and Zutara, so I thought, why not writing down, how I entered the MSS Zutara? Well, here it goes:

I already felt a chemistry in The Crossroads of Destiny, but my ship started during The Southern Raiders. Zuko realized that he wronged Katara the most, and I totally understand why she still couldn’t forgive him while the others already did (tbh, I think they forgave him too early. While the field trip-episodes were excellent, the pacing in between those was still too fast, IMO, along with the comet countdown).

Anyway, Zuko asks how he can make it up to Katara and helps her find closure by accompanying her, only getting involved when necessary—like when he made the wrong guy tell them about Yon Rha, just as Katara was about to give up.

Other than that, he stood aside, asked if she is ready, told her to find some rest—for me, it seemed as if he wasn’t only concerned to receive her forgiveness, but also caring about her as a person.

Plus, his line towards Sokka got me thinking: "Your sister. She hates me! And I don't know why, but I do care what she thinks of me." I mean... you could interpret it as him being at least a little interested in her, even if he doesn’t realize it...

Katara opened up to Zuko during their journey by telling him the whole story of her biggest trauma. Something she hasn’t done with anyone on screen, and showed that she already felt completely understood by him. For me, it felt like a much deeper bond she already shared with Zuko in a short time as the ones she shared with the others from the Gaang. And, finally: she received her closure in her own way with his help; and forgave him. And, I mean, that deep look after the tight embrace... hello???

On top came that this is literally the only episode when it is about Katara alone: Not Katara helping anyone or fighting for women’s rights—after she gave so much, it was the one episode only about her and her trauma alone. And who gave her the chance to do all this, bc he understood what she truly needs: Zuko.

Funny, this coincidence... This is such a typical element of Enemies-to-Lover’s. Is anyone familiar with the "A court of thorns and roses"-series by Sarah J. Maas? This happens there as well ACOTAR spoilers following, I haven’t figured out how to hide spoilers; if there is a way, pls let me know, thanks: Turns out the former enemy-guy understood the protagonist deeply, more as her soon-ex-fiancé ever could; and with his help, she got healed from her trauma. The former enemy is the one who really listens to her, who sees her as an equal, and she starts to trust him deeply, more than anyone else. End of ACOTAR spoilers While writing this down—and by knowing that ACOTAR was released about seven years after A:TLA S3— I’m asking myself if Sarah J. Maas is a fan of the show and a Zutara-shipper who got inspired.

So, yeah, that is how my ship started, and the following episodes tightened it. It was also the other way around, Katara who comforted Zuko in the most understanding way, given him strength to face his uncle and ask him for forgiveness, agreeing without hesitation of supporting him in a fight against Azula. And last but not least: Their last interaction together is saving each other's lives in the most epic way.

Long story short: They showed me a deep understanding of each other, they shared their deepest trauma or worries with the other one, and their friendship grew with every episode. And especially bc of this deep understanding, I truly believe that their relationship would be a healthy one. Would they fight now and then, like every couple? Of course, and it would get heated and passionate, for sure. But since most fights in relationships stem from a lack of understanding, I think it would happen rarely. Because they know, they can tell each other everything.

My intuition when it comes to a growing romance is mostly correct, and the Zutara-situation is so Enemies-to-lovers coded that nobody would’ve been surprised if they ended up together. I realize that not many episodes were left to build up a romance, but most Zutara shippers, like me, would’ve been pleased with a slight hint, and maybe a kiss out of adrenaline and relief after the last Agni Kai on top.

That being said: Please, NA:TLA—I really enjoyed you, but improve your writing skills a little, give the characters more depth, spend money on quality wigs and then LET ZUTARA HAPPEN!

I said this to others already, but to me this finale had a lot of 4x14 vibes tbh. Season 4 was severely hindered in it’s production due to COVID and i am, to this day, convinced that that’s also what made them tie it up with such a neat little bow before (at least in Bucktaylors case) undoing a lot of it immediately as season 5 rolled around. Essentially giving everyone the happiest ending they feasibly could.

And there’s something to be said about how mainstream tv seems to think that “happy ending” always equals “in a romantic relationship” whether or not the relationship itself is developed or healthy at all, but for two characters with character arcs so intertwined with their love life, it does make sense.

The thing is, to me this makes sense. Am I thrilled? No. But I’m excited to see what they do because I understand how this fits with the rest of the season and I’m not worried about it.

There were three big themes circling around Buck and Eddie all season. 1) missing the things that are right in front of you; 2) fantasy vs reality; and 3) Fear holding you back/preventing you from living your life. All three of these themes are tied together and need to be worked through to get to a place of Buddie canon and Buck’s “I’m already Christopher’s father” realization. But the last one is arguably the most important in order to get to the heart of the others and that’s where I feel like Marisol and Natalia come in.

Buck and Eddie both started the season single. But not because they necessarily wanted to be, because they were afraid not to be. Afraid to put themselves out there, afraid of being rejected, afraid of making mistakes. But being single out of fear is not the same thing as wanting to be alone or being comfortable with your life as it is, it’s just letting fear control your life. So the way I see it, if they had ended the season still single, that would have changed nothing from where they started.

For Eddie especially, this is a baby step but a necessary one. Whatever happens with Marisol, Eddie’s going to wind up on the other side with some confidence in himself and his ability to be a romantic partner and that’s what he needs to ultimately be secure enough to put himself on the line and really be honest with Buck. It’s low-stakes, it’s fluff, but I think it’s good for him.

For Buck, I disagree with the idea that he is inherently repeating the same mistakes. Yes, it’s not an auspicious start, but we as the audience see things that Buck doesn’t, and also there are some pretty key differences between Natalia and Taylor. With Taylor, they had a preexisting relationship. Buck knew going in all of the things about her that were dealbreakers for him, and instead of being true to himself, he told himself that he could “learn to live with it” and stayed with her for a year. With Taylor, he knew she was fundamentally a person whose values conflicted with his going all the way back to Dosed. He never should have dated her to begin with.

By contrast, he’s been on exactly three dates with Natalia. He barely knows her, and by all accounts she seems like a perfectly nice person even if someone who isn’t ultimately going to work for him (which is something that has been projected to the audience, but not for Buck). She hasn’t done anything wrong (it was pretty reasonable for her to feel overwhelmed and leave when Kameron crashed their date) and there’s nothing about her so far (in her personality or otherwise) that shows Buck is compromising himself and settling. Right now he’s clinging to a woman he wanted to date and get to know better anyway because she wants to be with him too and he’s feeling vulnerable—okay? He wanted to be with her though, I didn’t get the impression this was just about him being afraid to be alone (the way I felt about BT all through S4-S5). If they’re still together after the hiatus when they’ve known each other for more than five minutes and been on more than three dates, and we have actual evidence of him compromising himself where he shouldn’t? Then I’ll be agree that he’s repeating the same mistakes. But if anything right now I’m assuming this is his chance to prove his growth when he is ultimately put in a position to do better—that when something significant comes up he will be comfortable enough with himself to break things off instead of settling for what he doesn’t want. In the meantime, idk about y’all, but it takes me more than three dates to figure out if someone I’m interested in is going to be a good fit for me in the long run. And in a similar vein to Eddie needing to gain some confidence in his ability to be a romantic partner, I think Buck needs to be able to prove to himself that if he’s put in a situation where he’s settling, he’s capable of walking away. And for both of them I think those are important steps for them to take before they’re ready to be together.

Since TWN season 2, I've loved geraskefer. Season two shifted all their dynamics in very interesting ways. I will elaborate:

That scene in the pub and later in the boat between Jaskier and Yennefer converted me. I LOVED their vibe in season 2, and what little we had in season 3 with them was delightful. I love them having this banter-heavy dialogue, this playful "I tooootally find you annoying" best bitchy friends attitude (exaggerated, of course, for fun in fandom). They really do have each other's best interests at heart. They care. And to have them be together without the involvement of Geralt is very nice, even if he is a large part of why they would come together in any circumstance. Yenralt

Canon and a power couple. Divorced parents trying to get back together. A good contrast. The tension of knowing your love may be influenced by magic has a kind of tragedy. However, I need them to interact more outside of sex and talking about the wish. The opening of season 3 where we saw them as a family made me actually like them as a couple. I need them to be friends before I can ship them, and season 3 went a LONG way to making that happen. They've slowed down enough to actually get to know one another, and I look forward to seeing more of it.

Geraskier

The OG. The OTP. The reason like 99% of you are likely on this blog. Besties with romantic tension. The bants. The sass. The friendship and deep understanding at the core of who they are and how they interact. The ride or die. The tragedy of having it all thrown in your face and made insignificant in a moment of weakness. The desperation to repair what was once taken for granted. The choice to put in the work to repair what was lost. The honesty that comes with it. The fact that I am a gay (technically bi, like 85% men 15% women-ish whatever I'm gay I don't do math). These are what I find so compelling about the two.

Geraskefer

All of the above with a healthy dose of tension, confusion, pining, despair, and an ending in which finally, just this once, everyone gets exactly what they want, and it's okay to have it. The healing. The appreciation for one another. All the fear gone and all the love spoken. The bisexual dream. Jaskier is the glue. And I want them to FIGHT over him before they all get together. THE ship that makes me actually think polyamory would be THE best conclusion. They're already family regardless and I will cling to that. It's a main FOUR. Those three are equals in this unit.

if mike and el stay together and byler isn’t endgame, the writers would be sending the most awful message.

firstly, a little girl escapes a lab she grew up in after being abused and traumatised, and starts dating the first person that shows her kindness after spending less than a week with him?? really? she gets kissed when she's 12 years old after a few days of knowing him when she can’t communicate at the same level as the other characters (there’s a line where lucas says mike’s 3 year old sister talks more and this was included to prove that el was definitely NOT ready to be shoved into a relationship) and she doesn’t even understand the concept of romance at all. she doesn’t even know who she is as an individual person (her likes, her dislikes, her fashion sense, her type when it comes to crushes, her favourite foods, how the world outside the lab works, literally nothing about herself at all) and she doesn't even know the meaning of the word "friend" and has to be taught what it means. yet she still gets forced into a romantic relationship with someone she didn’t even have time to develop a friendship with first while still basically being strangers? HOW is that healthy? how are people seriously okay with that?! (and before anyone starts, i’m NOT saying that she couldn’t eventually get into a relationship. of course she could. but it happened WAY too quickly when she wasn’t ready at all and people need to acknowledge this).

secondly, another abused and traumatised child is gay and in love with his best friend, and they’ve made him suffer the entire show while thinking he’ll never be loved back?? even when all the other kids were happy in season 3 and getting into romantic relationships, will didn’t have that. he got absolutely nothing, except being excluded and shoved to the side. what kind of message are they sending to only do this to the main gay character? why do all the other kids get to be happy and experience love? especially after how they included homophobic slurs in season 1 about will, it would be absolutely disgusting to leave him with unrequited love. gay people go through enough pain and suffering in real life, so why would anyone want to be reminded of that while watching a fictional show with a character that they relate to and find comfort in? shawn levy said their show is an anthem for the marginalised. how is making the gay kid suffer sending a good message for those who are outcasted and oppressed in society? it’s just hurting people. it’s making them think they’ll never find happiness and it’s also allowing the homophobes to win. it goes against everything this show has fought for and why it was created in the first place.

another thing that’s absolutely ridiculous is the massive difference between mike’s relationship with el vs his relationship with will. mike and el’s relationship lacks trust, honesty, communication and understanding, while mike and will’s relationship has all of those things and more. what kind of message are they sending if they keep mike and el together but keep mike and will apart? why are they telling people that it’s okay to stay in a relationship with extreme emotional attachment and codependency due to shared trauma when you don’t even feel like an equal to your partner? mike and el literally admitted they don’t feel like equals. they’re both insecure in this relationship and they feel inferior to each other. they’ve made each other feel like shit in every season (except s2 since they didn’t even see each other until the end). how is it okay to tell people to stay in a relationship like this?

and finally, why would the writers think it’s okay to use will as a plot device to force mike and el back together while he continues to suffer? mike is will’s best friend. he’s his safe place and the boy he loves most. and yet the writers have made will sit back and watch him with someone else while he suffers alone. they literally put him in almost every mike and el scene in season 4 just to rub it in even more. then they had the audacity to turn a very personal and meaningful scene that was supposed to be about mike and will ONLY and made it about el, because of course they did. it’s like mike and will can’t have anything for themselves anymore. will’s painting and his feelings for mike were something extremely personal and they made it about el in order to mislead mike and push him into telling her he loves her. it’s messed up on so many levels and i don’t understand how anyone thinks it’s okay.

So Fionna and Cake was definitely a show I wasn't expecting to see when it got announced, and even less in the way it got delivered. Originally I thought they would stuck out with what we had seen so far in Adventure Time which is to say classical AT fun loving stories but with female Finn and cat Jake, which I would have been perfectly fine with.

But man, man. What ended up being delivered really was something I wasn't expecting but I'm really happy we got that, specially when it comes to separating Fionna from Finn and making her into her own person instead of a carbon copy of him except female and of course then there's Simon.

Simon has been an important character from the moment of his reveal as the former identity of the Ice King and being a huge plot device for some of the most hard hitting moments of the show, but besides that we have had barely seen anything of Simon as anything separate from the crown.

So being able to see how he's dealing with not just having his sanity back, but also having to adjust to an insane world where even the humans are so different from someone from the 20th century and his loss of Betty who sacrificed herself so he would be back as himself, and needless to say... My man's going through it.

He doesn't fit in, he doesn't have a purpose, his fiance is GONE, and he's constantly being reminded of his time as Ice King. Dude's fucking depressed and his coping mechanisms are destroying him and sending him further to the edge.

If you see him turning his life into a time capsule exhibition for the other humans, it's obvious he keeps idolizing a time that he cannot return to, he's stuck and hasn't been able to MOVE ON. So by the time he meets Fionna and Cake and finally decides to help them, he's pretty much using that as an excuse to sacrifice himself and use the crown and the Ice King by extension as a form of escapism. And the thing is, even with the crown the Ice King was MISSERABLE in what little moments of lucidity he had and we got to see that multiple times throughout the show.

While we got to see Fionna grow more as a person and accepting her world for what it is, we also get a LOT from Simon and the multiple foils het gets throughout the show, with Farmworld Finn who managed to regain his sanity (and being severely traumatized from the experience) doing what he can to move on and live in the moment via tending his own family and cherishing what little he has left of his late wife, even if he's still not okay he's doing his best, to the Winter King who refused to move on and instead decided to ignore the problem, forget about Betty and live through his own selfishness while hurting the Candy Kingdom and Princess Bubblegum (dude created an Ice Marceline who remained a kid, that's not healthy,) culminating in how Simon's influence affected those around him with Marceline from the Vampire World being a completely evil and sadistic person who relishes in the thrill of causing fear to her victims and finally culminating in The Lich whom after achieving his goal of eliminating all life of Ooo became a shell of his own self after finally losing his one goal.

But the thing is, Simon is an incredibly nice man, he just has a problem where he fails to see his own failings unless it's spelled out to him, which is why GolBetty becomes important to the final part of his overall arc.

Simon and Betty had a sincerely loving relationship, they were happy with each and it's so easy to see how much they love each other by the way they mourn, protect, care about one another and even when they talk about their past together you can see that love and while it's beautiful... It's also unhealthy, not toxic, just unhealthy.

They weren't equal to one another and we can see that with Simon being already a researcher whom Betty admires while she's only a student. They were not on the same level from day one and while Betty was brilliant and could have had an amazing future, she sacrificed her dreams for Simon and he was not aware of that. They keep feeding into each other's worst traits without knowing, but it's not like it was a bad relationship it was a good one, a genuinely good relationship with bad sides that neither party was aware of.

And sometimes that's what it is, it's not a bad experience, it was a good experience just not a healthy one.

And that's what Simon needs to realize to let Betty go, sure they loved each other and still do, but their decisions were made and now they have to accept those decisions and move on, and to Betty who by this point is a literal god of chaos, she has lived in a state where time is nonexistent and doesn't move the same for her so to her she has made amends with everything and now all she can do is to finally have a moment of closure with Simon, a moment where they both can give their goodbyes to the other and continue on with life. It's not easy, it's hard and it hurts, but it's the best thing to do for themselves.

In the end it was all experience, a good experience that meant everything and they can look back to with the same amount of love and care.

You Yao donghua actually treat the characters more kinder and respect their wishes hence why I do think most characters get their happy ending. If its not happy. Its more hopeful than the novel version. The novel is sadistic and depressing.

Lou Zhu

Novel: Lou Zhu is a scheming two-faced hedonist antihero but secretly has conscience somehow. In the novel, only ZYQ know about Lou Zhu's 8th floor (secret basement). At the end of the main story, he stated that he will meet ZYQ again in the future and it ended with them parting ways. After the mainstory's war. LZ who become more rich focus in sealing singularity and eliminating Tuo Huang remnants but can't fix that transmigrator soul replacing problem. In the extra, he mentioned that he want to visit Pangmen one day to visit ZYQ but the novel equivalent of Pangmen is like Tian Ya Ke's ghost valley so going there is dangerous so he can't do it because of his current situation. ZYQ also don't want to endanger Lou Zhu's life for him so they are stuck in long distance relationship. In that reunion extra, they reunited because LZ asked for a poison's antidote from ZYQ. As the leader of Pangmen, he's knowledgeable with different types of poison.

Donghua: He reunited with ZYQ after years of being separated similar to novel extra but situation are different. He finally visit the peaceful version of Pangmen and probably considering it as his retirement home because of the beautiful mountains and clear water around it that fits his ideal home requirement. LZ will probably consult ZYQ for a medicine because ZYQ became a nutritionist. LZ probably suppress the transmigrator soul replacing problem information from others to avoid chaos but he gave them a choice to try the singularity to return home because in the novel, Long Daxia is the one who tell them about it. In the donghua, the people present when Jiao Jiaoran revealed that are Tuo Huang transmigrators, Lou Zhu, Lin Kai, and Long Daxia.

Zuo Yunqi

Novel: He's more like a tenant of Best Tower and Lou Zhu's errand boy in the novel. He's a prideful stubborn guy who prefer the role to be the one who earn money and protect Lou Zhu. The reason why he's separated from Lou Zhu is he want to be in equal grounds with Lou Zhu. He don't like the idea of Lou Zhu protecting him. Protecting LZ is his way of courting him. If he didn't became a leader of Pangmen sect, he has no way of helping Lou Zhu because not only his body is too weak after almost dying but he can't cultivate his martial arts anymore. He will definitely become useless if he stayed by Lou Zhu's side.

Donghua: ZYQ experienced becoming Lou Zhu's bodyguard as his temporary job while staying in Best Tower and eventually became a successful healthy business man/nutritionist so they are now in equal grounds. The ending gives you a hopeful feeling that they will definitely be together because ZYQ's conditions in the novel are all fulfilled.

Li Ke & Zhou Rongqi (Angst ending)

Novel: Both Li Ke and Zhou Rongqi experienced living their life alone after their loved one died. In the novel, Li Ke killed himself first in their first arc so Zhou Rongqi did experienced surviving alone. In the end, Li Ke travelled around Da Liang while knowing that the Chunfeng ci bi dagger he carried has Prince Yu's soul in it after Tao Zhongchi mentioned it. He wish to meet Prince Yu again in his next life.

Donghua: ZYQ told Li Ke that the dagger possibly has Prince Yu's soul so Li Ke was overjoyed knowing that Prince Yu is not gone gone and tried to find a way to reunite with Prince Yu. He entered a singularity with the dagger to transmigrate together. If you have read the reverse isekai au extra, its really possible that they manage to meet again in 21st century and live happily. Its a hopeful ending. Watch Cheng He Ti Tong (How Dare You) donghua episode 1, they really transmigrated to 21st century!!!

Lin Kai & Tao Zhongchi

Novel: Lin Kai and Tao Zhongchi's connection in work terms was mentioned but didn't dive deeper about it. Lin Kai didn't even tried to save Tao Zhongchi by himself when she was kidnapped. He sent Xie Liang to save her. So Lin Kai suddenly asking Tao Zhongchi if she's fine to be his wife in the ending look like it came out of nowhere. Tao Zhongchi rejected him and then replied to him honestly that she's not interested for now but she might consider it in the future.

Donghua: The donghua build their romance well. It showed Lin Kai being saved by her, falling in love with her, getting rejected by her, respecting the girl's career-oriented mindset, saving her in time of trouble and finally getting the yes from Tao Zhongchi. They are a very cute straight pair.

Tan Qinghuan

Novel: Wulin alliance treat her more harshly. Lou Zhu not only lies he has amnesia and pretend he's the guy Tan Qinghuan looking for. He also don't take seriously his promise to Tan Qinghuan that he will make sure if he ever found her loved one, that person will live in a peaceful world. Novel version of Da Liang is not peaceful at all after the ending lol Its a very twisted world.

Donghua: Everyone in Wulin alliance tried to talk with her and genuinely listen to her sad ABC story. Lou Zhu treated him more kindly like a friend and promised sincerely that he will try his best to make a peaceful place for everyone like Tan Qinghuan's special someone. She's thankful that Lou Zhu is a good person. Then they buried her. Da Liang is more peaceful in the donghua.

Lin Kai's friendship

Novel: Lou Zhu and Lin Kai is an insufferable scheming duo who love playing as neutral bystanders. Lou Zhu and Long Daxia is in bad terms who often see being sarcastic to each other. Lou Zhu mock Long Daxia's recklessness while Long Daxia mock his cowardice. Somehow Lin Kai is more ambitious with hidden agenda and don't like it whenever Lou Zhu show conscience in the novel.

Donghua: Donghua explore more the healthy friendship of Lin Kai with Long Daxia and Lou Zhu. Despite their differences, Long Daxia and Lou Zhu have decent relationship. Lin Kai is a good friend and likable character.

Zhou Jingyi, the emperor

Novel: He's straight up a bad person who blame transmigrators once bad things happened and mistreated Prince Yu's family. His son is a bad child who also want to kill.

Donghua: Still a bad person but his insecurities and anxiety was showed in the beginning. Then gradually lose his trust to transmigrators thanks to Jiao Jiaoran's wrongdoings. He's not downright evil and even entrusted his crown prince to Xiao Xue to teach his son about transmigrators' knowledge. He didn't killed her. It resulted the crown prince developing a good mindset with who don't want to hurt people under Xiao Xue's teachings.

Zuo Dao

Novel: ZYQ threatened his dad Zuo Dao to give him the Liruo so that he can manipulate the transmigrators to not leave and fix Lou Zhu's problem. Leaving him with no choice, ZYQ gave him a poison that killed him resulting ZYQ somehow becoming the next Zuo Dao that can't run away from using poison to survive in Jianghu. Zuo Dao tell ZYQ that ZYQ will never escape his fate to become a bad person similar to his dad in his last breath so ZYQ starts to doubt himself if he can actually became a good person. Sadly, ZYQ really do evil actions in extra and no longer consider himself as good person.

Donghua: ZYQ tried to find a better alternative medicine to cure his dad but failed. ZYQ told him though that he don't want to be like his father sincerely and will definitely show him that genuine goodness exist in this world. Zuo Dao has more peaceful death and gives his son a good luck to whatever he want to achieve.

Xiao Xue

Novel: She barely have a role in the story and disappeared after the first arc. Lou Zhu originally has two main maids in the novel, Xiao Xue and Xiao Yu.

Donghua: Alive and she became a hostage to teach the crown prince about transmigrators' knowledge. Later, she became the new emperor's trusted advisor just like what the former emperor wanted.

Charlie Norman and the Miss who own the pastry shop

Novel: Long Daxia and Qian Zhenduo kinda used Charlie to get info about Jiao Jiaoran and the factory. The Miss was mentioned possibly being interested to the foreigner secretly but when Charlie was asked if he's going to marry. He said no because he's going to leave to find his homeland. In the Fuyang incident, she embraced someone's dead body in the same spot where Charlie lose consciousness and then got hit by explosion. She gave him the armor she's wearing so Charlie can survive. She died and Charlie manage to survive alone but lose his hearing. He didn't know who gave him the armor. Nevertheless, he continue searching for his homeland if it exist in this new world.

Donghua: Charlie is the one interested in her and tried to propose to her many times. They both died together while embracing each other in the middle of Fuyang massacre after the Miss accepted Charlie's Marry Me if she will come to him find his homeland together. At least they are together lol and Charlie returned her feelings? They both like each other! Well, the home concept in You Yao is you can find your home in someone and not a place so Charlie finding his homeland came true as he fall in love with the Miss. In the ending, Long Daxia and Qian Zhenduo formed a genuine friendship with Charlie so they rode a ship to try to find their dead friend's homeland.

Xie Liang & Fan Aiguo

Novel: In the final arc, Fan Aiguo and Xie Liang actually saved Long Daxia before he fell to where Jiao Jiaoran fell into like true noble heroes. Before that, they also tried to save Lou Zhu when emperor tried to kill him but they are used as scapegoats. Lou Zhu also ordered Fan Aiguo to plagiarize a story and Xie Liang is the one who saved Tao Zhongchi. In the ending, Fan Aiguo decided to stay in this world to explore more being a writer so Xie Liang invited him to his Xiaoxiang villa to stay there.

Donghua: Sadly, they didn't saved any important characters but they do help in simple matters like making sure Tuo Huang members will not fall to their death, the delivery men for the weapons and they are the one who breaks free the snake to destroy Lou Zhu's best tower. Xie Liang has confirmation too from Fan Aiguo that he will also not leave their world.

Long Daxia & Qian Zhenduo

Novel: Travelling couple LongQian is already together way before the Fuyang incident. They met earlier. Long Daxia actually love earning money for Xiao Qian as his love language so Xiao Qian will stop swindling anyone to earn and survive. In the novel, they don't have designated places to go while travelling because their home was destroyed already as result of the war. The public misunderstood their relationship as just master-disciple who live in seclusion somewhere.

Donghua: LongQian met later. In the donghua, they travelled together because Long Daxia wish to see the world from ordinary person's perspective through Xiao Qian's eyes and to try their luck searching for Charlie's homeland as tribute for their deceased friends.

Jiao Jiaoran

Novel: Straight up crazy bad person raised in bad environment who's also one of the leaders of a syndicate and interested in studying Singularities. She actually watched when Lou Zhu was hit by a car and died in his first life. She assumed she killed him because she predicted that there's a singularity to where Lou Zhu died.

Donghua: Her origin story is never revealed. Still a bad person but her motive is different. The reason why she's against the natives is because of discrimination and she look down on them because of her advanced modern knowledge unlike Lou Zhu who tried to bridge the gap between natives and transmigrators. She only met Lou Zhu in the donghua but they are aware of each other's existence in the novel.
