Lost Contact

Danny fell in love with Bruce Wayne in college. If he was completely honest with himself he didn't even know about Gotham or the outside world by that point, he just knew he had to get away from home for a while and complete his studies.

He didn't expect to run into a playboy billionaire who was supposedly very dumb at his college; Danny knew better, he could tell the difference between the act and the real Bruce, someone truly thoughtful, caring and very smart, but no one but him noticed so he didn't say anything.

They became very good friends despite their obvious latent crush and on graduation day Danny was about to confess when he got a call from home asking for help with the GIW. The halfa had no choice but to say goodbye not wanting to get Bruce in his mess.

When he returned to Gotham months later he learned that Bruce was gone, his butler informed him that he would be back but didn't know when and the halfa returned to Amity in disappointment. He decided to take over the Realms for a while and distract himself with all the responsibilities he had been avoiding.

Years later he was called for a college reunion. Danny was very nervous, he hadn't kept in touch with the outside world but his core was still glowing for the billionaire, he wondered if Bruce would remember him.

Despite his plan to confess his old feelings (and pretend they no longer existed), Danny was unable to do anything but look at Bruce who greeted him with a smile and a small child at his side. The halfa grimaced, maybe he was married?

Bruce seemed excited to see him again and exchanged his contact, asking him not to go off the radar again, the halfa felt a little guilty about it. They continued to communicate over the years. Danny noted with amusement how his crush kept adopting children and calling him for a dinner at the mansion.

Out of every ship i have been invested in, which isn't a whole lot but still, I think that narumitsu is the most justified in being the most painfully slow burn to ever have burned. Like, it's obvious to literally everyone around them that there is something between them but it still takes twenty years to do anything about it. Not because they're stupid but they're both just specific types of fucked up that make getting into a relationship kind of impossible.

They're both seemingly very reluctant to get into any sort of romantic relationships in the first place, one due to general disinterest and a truly incredible amount of emotional constipation, and the other due to his last (and only known) relationship being so fucked up that he kind of gave up on the concept entirely. Them being excruciatingly in denial about being in love for decades is just so in character because they're just Like That.

Their history is also complicated enough to warrant waiting around for each other forever, there's so much baggage and trauma and hurt between them that it's just crazy. They've saved each other and they've hurt each other and they push each other away, they owe each other their lives and their jobs and their hopes. They would do anything for each other but are still pretty justified in being afraid to take the last step into making their relationship not just platonic.

idk it feels like a lot of other ships fall into the infuriatingly slow romance because the characters are too stupid to take a hint and it's just kind of painful after a while but these are the most hilariously repressed characters I have ever seen and while they might be stupid about their own feelings, it's usually stemming from trauma which is far more interesting for me personally lol.

it is extremely evident to me that xiao heng has no romantic or sexual experience whatsoever. the closest he has come is his best friend the emperor being a little into him but too busy and stressed to do anything about it and it is unclear if xiao heng ever even noticed. unfortunately for bixia (and everyone else) xiao heng is a'li-sexual and a'li-sexual only. i don't even care if no one else sees it, it's clear as the nose on my face to me and that's all that matters.

(mgv) frankly a house md omegaverse would require an entire rewrite rather than just "the episode but with mgv elements" bc i have house and wilson helping each other with their cycles (meaning they're fucking) so their dynamic could go even crazier. they bang, unbonded, as friends, which isn't super crazy uncommon but they also regularly display courtship behaviors that they apparently either ignore or write off as pranks or basic decency -- wilson letting house eat off his plate is a huge one for example

Got tagged by @lordgrimwing to share the last six sentences I wrote on a WIP! I've been hopping around between projects recently, but the most recent thing I worked on is yet another Zhongzhu fic whoops. These two old men are giving me the world's worst brainrot.

“Zhongli,” Baizhu huffs as he balls his hand into a fist and lightly thumps it against Zhongli’s broad chest. “I was trying to flirt.”  “And you were successful,” Zhongli replies, crowding in once more to nudge his nose against Baizhu’s neck. His hands circle Baizhu’s waist, one thumb still slipped beneath the hem of Baizhu’s shirt, “I am only asking a question. Will you not answer it?”   “I did,” Baizhu complains.
