Hey back at it again with piktober, this time doing Day 11 and 19, Leaves and Flowers (caused flowered leafling?)

I kept seeing this on Tik Tok, about Ben Schwartz interview with Stephen Colbert, specifically the scene when Stephen said:

"I know that Shadow falls in love with Maria."

And how the clip was cut made it seem like Ben was like "Woah, let's not say that. You're wrong.", along with comments insisting "they're siblings" or anything otherwise of Stephen's opinion/interpretation.

Me, on the other hand, wanted to see their full conversation, to which I did. Here is Ben's full reaction :

I've seen so many comments insulting aang for being bald and not being "hot" enough for Katara?? And it's honestly so.. disrespectful?? Aang shaves his head because it's HIS culture as an air nomad? His entire race was wiped out and he's the only one who could preserve it?? And Katara ACCEPTS that and loves him for it. Bashing that is basically insulting his culture. So fucking insane.

Not everyone goes for a relationship just bc someone is "hot" that's basically projecting YOUR mindset of what's worthy for Katara and what's not, into Katara herself.

So as long as someone is "hot" they are morally a better romantic match than someone who isnt? Yeah right, pretty privilege is SO real when you look at claims like this.

Some of you were curious about the concept behind the Elise painting. These are the concept doodles of that AU ! ( Blaze looking at a bug is unrelated but very cute )

Summary of wtf is going on here under the cut.

Basically in the AU everyone's born with a sort of invisible aura of chaos energy coating them. Some people have stronger chaos auras ( the people with special powers ), some like Knuckles and Blaze, are made to have special auras through stuff like guardianship of chaos artifacts. You might notice Sonic's aura is especially wild as hell.

So Elise right ? Elise used to have the standard aura coating, but what happened to her as a kid actually completely destroyed it. So now she's completely unprotected against other people's active auras. That wasn't really ever a problem because she never had anyone around her with a strong aura.

But then guess who she happens to spend a lot of time with in 06 ? Yeeeeup our wild boy Sonic the Hedgehog. So this wing mutation she has is because of that ! She's been absorbing Sonic and his friends' energies and her body is NOT AT ALL able to handle this stuff, so it corrupts her.

AU where Phoenix is just slightly more spiritually sensitive so instead of just being able to hear Mia's ghost, he gets to hang out with his great great (x?) grandfather Ryuunosuke who imprinted on him the moment he decided to become a defense attorney for gay reasons.

Also if anyone could magically be there for Pheonix while Edgeworth is fake-dead it would be Ryuunosuke.

I'm also a staunch believer in both Phoenix and Ryuu having rough/distant relationships with their family so it's funny to think that the only biological family member you can stand is the one that haunts you and looks exactly like you if you time traveled and cut your hair unevenly with safety scissors.

hmm, random thoughts about the FXMQ... a silly headcanon: Feng Xin has very much been hoisted by his own petard by heckling Mu Qing! That is to say, he'll harass Mu Qing relentlessly about something stupid only to be confronted with a similar situation and realise that there's absolutely NO way he can act in anyway similar to Mu Qing or he'll never hear the end of it.

(For example, he has tolerated some truly atrocious divine statues in the past because he's heckled Mu Qing so much about how picky he is with his divine statues that there's no WAY he can say ANYTHING without seeing that smug bastard's face in his head so he just has to bite his tongue and tolerate some unspeakably ugly statues.)

Mu Qing doesn't generally suffer from similar overthinking (he'll just prepare to kick FX's ass if he dares to say anything about it) except for things more directly related to himself. I think he genuinely finds sewing/embroidery/etc rather relaxing work but he'd rather die than have anyone ever see him do it because he's made such a big deal about not doing that sort of "servant" work anymore.

(He actually really enjoyed stitching Ruoye back together because it gave him the perfect excuse -- he's returning a favour!! and Xie Lian is hopeless!! of course he had to!! -- and he secretly considered using white thread to embroider some invisible little designs just because he doesn't quite want to stop... only he knew he'd get caught if he messed with Xie Lian's spiritual device like that and gave up the idea)

Like. I really try to give people the benfit of the doubt. Especially when you're just getting into something. Opinions can change. You can grow and learn. Etc. it's just a silly show.

And I really hate to be an Old Man who Yells At Clouds but an alarming number of times I will click on a blog and instead of blogging about the characters or ships, or plots they DO like it's complaining about characters, ships,plots,etc they don't like. And not just that they don't like them, but that disliking them makes them Right and loudly performing Rightness.

To the point I kinda wonder if they even like the show or characters?

Like. We're a fairly small fandom, and we cannot handle ship wars or character hate, and other toxic bullshit. It's frankly childish and kills interaction.

The idea of belonging to some sort of club is appealing, but just wait until you no longer fit the criteria lol.

("bad ships", self ships, any opinions that aren't black and white, enjoying things in fiction you don't condone irl, etc)

(the lack of self awareness in fandom in general these days also gets me. And as a former, (very former) anti, the hit of massive guilt they will feel when they like something "bad" is going to destroy them. Going to make them question their own morality and self worth.)

Fandom isn't a competition. No one is here to win. You're gonna be all alone in your big boy chair looking down at the "freaks and degenerates" wondering why no one talks to you and why you don't have fun tbh.

Look, if you've encountered a disabled person's life or living standards and you personally don't like it, the least you can do is not saying "I'm so grateful I don't like like that" or worse "I'm so glad I'm not you"

It is actually incredibly simple to simultaneously not center yourself and the way you aren't disabled or the way your disabilities don't impact your life like others and to not shame and humiliate others. It's sometimes okay to keep comments like that inside your mind, where it won't hurt that person.
