it's been forever since i wrote anything Trigun (i got tons of wips life's been lifing) but also forever since i compiled a list of my works, so here it is in no particular order!

If We Live (M, 37k, 7/7 chapters) - my wolfwood lives magnus opus. a very slight canon divergence that keeps him alive without making his relationship with vash less tragic. I have big plans for this au, it's so bittersweet yet cathartic

Get psychically blasted, idiot! (a series with 3 works, 13,8k total) - my polygun mindmeld agenda. these 3 can be enjoyed separately, but I really can't point out a favourite among them, each has a unique POV and stylistic quirk that makes them so hard to compare. lots of hurt/comfort and character dynamics explorations!!

Molten Outlaw (T, 4,8k) - this one is for the polygun enjoyers: Vash is struggling with his chronic pain, and his partners are there to help him relax

Not About the Couch (T, 3k) - post-canon exploration of Vash's grief. he's been living with the insurance girls for a while, and he still hasn't told them what really happened to Wolfwood...

You Still Have Time (T, 1,2k) - i wrote this at 3 am after watching I Saw The TV Glow, do I even need to explain further?? this is my transfem Wolfwood and Milly agenda

blew yer tits clean off (T, 3,6k) - vashwood hospital yuri ark! they accidentally have an honest talk and share each other's transmasc experience on this desert planet

Schrödinger's Lazarus (M, 7,7k, 2/2 chapters) - do you like sci-fi existential horror? do you also like when the consequences of said horror are explored in detail?? then you might enjoy this fucked up premise of Vash dying... but also not really. turns out, a guy can be both! his companions have complicated feelings about that

You say this is the love we all hope to find (M, 1,6k) - Knives grafts a new arm onto Legato. unsurprisingly, they're both freaks about it

trigun body horror week 2024 (a series with 6 works, 7,6k total) - as the name suggests, this one is for body horror enjoyers :] again, check out the fic descriptions to see what strikes your personal fancy, but my favourite is Inside that cage you call a chest cause I love my girl Milly <3

Heavy weight (T, 7,3k, 2/2 chapters) - my first fic ever about vash accidentally waking up on top of wolfwood. it's too cute and ooc for my current standarts yet somehow my most popular fic to this day!! >_<

3 Wangxian + Mulan AU ideas

I wrote a comment about this somewhere but couldn't find it again. But basically, I love wangxian. I love mulan. I love mulan au. But I'm not that into the a/b/o au. So here's some mulan au ideas that don't use that specific trope but still have all the Gender:

Idea #1: transmasc!wwx escapes his miserable life endlessly disappointing Madam Yu and feeling uncomfortable in his own skin by running away to join the military. He meets LWJ, who comes from a very respected Lan lineage of court officials, scholars and generals. LWJ hasn't married yet, despite pressures from family and politics, bc bro is gay and isn't interested in loveless marriage (see: madam lan trauma). He's putting it off by focusing on his career, which is defending the current dynasty from the Wen (a very rich clan from north China trying to overthrow the southern-based dynasty, with the help of a strong nomadic tribe whose leader is zhao zhuliu and whose tribe raises the *best* horses and therefore is very much a Threat.) Wwx, using his radical ideas about fireworks/gunpowder (or some other genius weaponry innovation), ends up turning the tide of the war and defeats the Wen. Lwj is absolutely smitten and wishing he could take those bows so bad, but knowing it is impossible. Somehow, whether injury or madam yu, wwx gets forcibly outed, which is very :(( but luckily there is a happy ending! He is given a general position regardless of being afab/ is offered a place in the Emperor's court instead of execution. Wwx accepts, and continues to dress and act as masc as he pleases, and still being addressed by masc titles (admittedly, part of the reason he can do this is bc misogyny, but still!) and Lwj courts wwx - regardless of others opinions about wwx's unsuitability as a "wife" - and is the most gender-affirming husband to wwx ever, and wwx and lwj live happily ever after.

Idea #2: they're both women. Wwx cross-dresses (maybe has a little fun with gender/gender expression, maybe nb? or just mostly prefers being a woman) to go into the army instead of jc so that jc doesn't die on some battlefield somewhere. Meets lwj, who is also cross-dressing, and whose mother chose to raise her as a son from birth to give her daughter a better future free from the chains she had experienced. She is a very respected general (again from lineage of generals). She recognizes wwx doing a rather poor job of hiding her identity but doesn't say anything, even before wwx earns her respect (and she earns wwx's). Similar plot stuff as idea #1 occurs, wwx is revealed to be a woman. Through either betrothal due to the emperor doing some shipping, or through lwj beginning the courting process herself, wwx and lwj begin courting. As the steps are completed, however, lwj is more and more panicked trying to figure out how to tell wwx she is a woman (luckily, we know wwx is bisexual). Lwj knows she's a woman, but she doesn't know how to *be* a woman, having lived all her life as a man, so she's insecure about that as well. And Will wwx even want her once she discovers lwj isn't a man? Fic ends when wwx and lwj finally have that talk and get married and live happily ever after.

Idea #3: wwx is the well-renowned general tasked with leading his forces against the Wen. Lwj is the transmasc! (or even just cross-dressing woman, bc I confess I love a good het romance that breaks gender roles, as a disaster bisexual) who was childhood friends? betrothed at a young age? to wwx. Lwj is not willing to leave wwx to face the enemy alone, so lwj joins the army and is stationed under wwx. Wwx, who hasn't seen or interacted with lwj in years, finds himself falling in love with this soldier who fights with such dedication and devotion by his side...and Stuff Happens from there.

Mentioned that I'm a fan (albeit a quiet one) of transfem Mike(s) Walters on another post and got this in response

so my trans woman Mike Walters thoughts:

1. In my experience, friend groups with one trans person very rarely have only one person.

Anne and Mike became friends in college when Anne had just started transitioning (ep 69).

Even though they were in the same dorm room in freshman year, there's a reason why people gravitate towards one another. (My freshman year roommate and I will never speak to one another again. Just being roommates doesn't make you friends.)

If you're trans and you see another trans person in a new place where you don't know anyone, you go talk to the other trans person.

In my mind, mike had already transitioned - possibly years ago. There's no friendship quite like that between the seasoned and newly transitioned trans friends. I've been on both sides of this. One of my transmasc friends looked at my very unshaven legs in 11th grade the first time the weather allowed for shorts (something I was explicitly bullied for and therefore mildly insecure about), said it gave him gender envy, and I will be chasing that high for the rest of my life.

I want this for mike and anne, bringing one another up when they're nervous/insecure/unsure about some part of their transition.

2. Middle aged identity crisis

Following Edgar's death, the grief turned michael into a cowboy (ep 114). Grief looks different for everyone but it often involves some kind of massive life change. Michael was also around 40 when this happened: the perfect age for a mid-life crisis and another cause for huge life changes.

She's not gonna change her gender again, it took long enough to become who she is. But edgar liked cow[girl]s and so she'll become a cowgirl, as a way of keeping edgar with her and making a change of her own control that feels big enough to counter the lack of control from edgar's premature death (babe) (ep 84).

She transitioned once, doing it a second time (into a cowgirl) is a walk in the park.

(Also open to the idea that this is when the mikes realize they're women - edgar's death acts as a catalyst and michael goes from, well, the Mike that we know and love and into the Cowgirl Michael that I know and love in my head. Sometimes it's easier to transition if you go big or go home, and Michael can't go home anymore now that edgar's passed. This also tracks with michael being so nonchalant about breaking the rules and doing whatever she wants - transitioning can be one hell of a confidence boost)

3. Fun little things to think about (under the cut in the interest of post length)

Mike and Michael moving in to the riga apartment together was the first time two mikes were living with one another for extended periods. This sounds like the trans dream to me. You have a second version of you that you can bounce ideas off of and ask about outfits and try hairstyles on and see how the world perceives you. The mikes absolutely do not seem the type to be put together enough to do makeup or preen over appearance but this is my headcanon, goddammit. anyways

Mike sitting michael down to braid her hair during movie nights.

Michael donating the clothes she no longer wears (on account of becoming a cowgirl) to Mike, who now has a massive collection of vaguely in and out of style clothing to choose from and has no idea what to do with - mike says in 82 that he comes home from a thrift shop with 2 shirts that make him look like a slob and that he only wears on laundry day. I'd love to think that Michael threw herself into figuring out how to layer that shirt or what belt matches which skirt and now has a plethora of knowledge about how to dress yourself specifically tailored to the body type of the mikes. What I'm getting at is michael as a sort of queer eye esque* stylist for mike. *note: all of my knowledge of this show comes from tumblr

MW has polished nails and you cannot convince me otherwise. This isn't even necessarily trans, I will choose to believe it canon until explicitly stated otherwise. But I adore the idea that MW got really into fancy nails as a hobby she picked up while living out her best life in OVER with edgar, and after she went from being many mikeys to one MW she didn't stop. The other mikes are wary at first but it really grows on them (or, better, they really really like it but are too nervous to request anything from this new mike) until of them sits down with MW as she's trying out a new design in her room and asks if MW can do hers as well. Which becomes a big important "breaking this new iteration out of her shell and getting her to put down her walls" weekly activity in riga activity.

Now I'm thinking about mdawg and mw doing their nails together because you know they would the minute they could spend a free day together

!! What if (the) OverMike(s) start transitioning at OVER because overmike and ovedgar finally have the time to live and being relatively stress free for the first time in so long with Good Influence Edgar gives mike the space to do some real introspection and realize that she does really like being in charge of her own life and she does think a little bit of eyeliner looks nice and the weight she put on when she started working at over the first time made her chest grow a little and hey, she really likes how that looks and it's not a crime to want more of it. It's an extra slap in the face when base grows more and more distant because how could you not notice that overmike was becoming a girl while you weren't looking? If one mike had that realization, what does that mean for the other mikes?

Its 3am and I've been thinking about this for over an hour. More thoughts tomorrow if anyone wants to hear them <3

It's always important to remember that as tempting as it is to see one side as Good and the other Bad, it's more like Order and Chaos in Shin Megami Tensei or the works of Michael Moorcock; both suck and which one sucks the most depends on which one has unrestrained power. One must self-actualize into the conclusion that you gotta forge your own path without prior tradition dictating your response to every situation.

There are gender crit people of all gender identities. Some manage to find frameworks where they see being trans as not incompatible with being Radfem Classics, one way or another. Personally though I use "transradfem" to mean radfems who center trans women and "TIRF" to mean the gender crit kind.

Obviously, you already know, a trans guy!! From the band, the only ones that know are Queenie, Fatz, and Dingo. Obvs Rolfe knows bc they're brothers (Rolfe's the first person he came out to, in fact), and Rolfe told Earl before they reencouentered, back when he thought he would never see his brother again. Dook also knows

(As a matter of fact-- In this fic of mine, i mention Dook knowing how to bind from another trans guy, well, that was Wolfman!!)

He was an opera singer before medically transitioning-- after T changed his voice, a lot of theaters stopped calling him for shows, so he got into other types of music to compensate

He absolutely adores Rolfe, tbh he did more to raise him than their parents ever did.

He's more into tea than coffee, and actually thinks coffee is gross-- he and Rolfe had many a heated discussion abt it

Queenie

She's dating Wolfman!! She met him during his opera era, as she was a cleaner in one of the theaters he used to play in. She eventually confessed to him she liked to sing, which led to them forming a duo (that eventually became a band).

She loves to read, and writes poetry on her spare time.

She's really passionate abt all types of theatre, especially music theatre.

She left the band as she got a job as a director in a local theatre, which was very demanding and didn't left her time to perform w them. She still attended every show she could

She and Rolfe don't really get along, they'll be civil for Wolfman's sake but Queenie thinks he's a spoiled brat :P

Beach Bear

He's a high school music teacher, and taught Rockafire!Beach

No, he and Rockafire!Beach aren't related, altho they both kinda wish they were

Aside from teaching music, he has a philosophy degree. He got a job as a philosophy teacher out-of-state after the WP5 broke up, but stayed long enough to find a replacement fir the Rockafire, which ofc we all know who he choose in the end

He also used to work as a lifeguard on the weekends. That's how he meet Fatz, who eventually introduced him to Wolfman when they decided to form a band

He genuinaly thinks Rockafire!Beach is a far better guitarist n singer than he is, and far from being jealous abt it, he's happy for the kid. He's sure he's going places

Dingo

Dook's older brother!! He's super overprotective of all his younger siblings, which are a few

He was the first to find out abt the fact that Wolfman had an estranged younger brother, after Wolfman got v drunk one night n got emotional seeing Dingo n Dook interact. That's the same night he found out Wolfman's trans, man kinda overshared

BIG fan of the Beatles, always dreamed of going to London

The british accent he uses on-stage is fake, he just does it cuz he thinks its cool. A lot more ppl think its cringe, but he don't listen to haters

He moved to the UK after the WP5 broke up, he works as a drummer-for-hire there, for anyone who might need one in short notice. He makes ok money from it

Mini

Mitzi's half sister on their father's side. Her mom has no custody of her however, so to Mitzi she was always just her sister

She's p apathetic to most things, except music

Learnt from Fatz the band was looking for a new singer after Queenie left, and jumped at the opportunity.

She actually came to really care for the rest of the band during her time w them, altho she doesn't really show it

Left for college, originally the plan was for Mitzi to replace her on the WP5, but well, the whole band parted ways, so Mitzi became a singer in the new band instead

Fats/Fatz

Yeah he's just the same guy in both bands. He changed the last letter on his name from 'S' to 'Z' at Rockafire!Beach's insistance that it looked cooler

Played occasionally on a restaurant he n his mom worked at, which is how Wolfman found him

He and Wolfman became best friends. Fatz greatly admires Wolfman, which made it kinda jarring to meet Rolfe n realize he's NOTHING like his brother

His first 'date' w Esmeralda was to take her to see him play w the WP5. The whole band never stopped teasing him abt it

Got a side job as a private music instructor for a while. He tutored Mitzi, which is how she meet both her n Mini

as for headcanons, here's a "few" i that i tend to come back to a lot! my interpretations of them are influenced from both the source material and other's fanworks, so i've linked to them as i saw fit! hcs in no particular order under the cut because oops this got long (900 word bullet point list, mentions of reload content up to 1/1)

minato's hair is dyed blue (hair originally brown, you can see it in his roots!) and he has a beauty mark on under his left eye. i like mirror imagery and there's definitely a few arts i've rb'd that portray them this way :) (e.g. this one by feliichu and this one by marasschino)

as far as i'm concerned the bathhouse scene from the manga where ryoji's hair down = similar shape to minato? that is canon to me. this art from xierru is a fun depiction of hair down ryoji :D

ryoji is homeless. everyone say thank you foxmulder_whereartthou for this awesome fic it's why i have the headcanon! but like seriously. we have no idea where ryoji lives and i could believe this.

minato dying at the end of the game is sad to an outsider's POV BUT!!! ryomina gets to be together in death for the rest of their lives (this illustration from mafuwara is a gorgeous representation of them as nyx avatar + the seal)!

speaking of the seal, they are like telepathically communicating to me in the great seal together. (mymp3 had a comic wip with this. give it a looksie :D)

ryoji likes cuddling with minato because he's warm :) (something something orpheus has fire affinity, minato is warm by extension and ryoji is cold because he's death)

ryoji's camera roll is filled with pictures of minato! ryoji... loves life, to me. and i feel that photography and journaling are perfect ways of expressing gratitude and capturing the moments in life that are most important to you :3

my other favorite activity for these two is stargazing- i feel like it's something they could appreciate either in life or death (looking at the stars from the great seal...)! they do a bit of this in the fic eurydice's vow by crescentmoontea (P5R spoilers, takes place in third sem it's a very fun fic concept).

between ryoji and minato i feel like ryoji was the one who fell in love first- and it doesn't really click in place for minato that he loves ryoji until december hits (appriser reveal + ryoji transforming into thanatos). its about the realization that ryoji was with him for his whole life and that he gets him like no one else does.

ryoji is like a sad and wet puppy who is so scared minato won't like him back. he is so scared of being rejected by minato to me like. this boy straight up deflates after he does his "i know i said i wanted us to be friends, but... i actually want to be something more." / "what about you?" on 12/1 ???

AND SPEAKING of wet puppy ryoji. ryoji is like. every animal in the world to me. he's a bird. he's a cat. etc. and also ryoji knows every language in the world ever and uses it to express his love for minato. see this fic from superheroics to see what i mean.

both of them are lactose intolerant. "this isn't lactose, it's milk!" i definitely think ryoji would make himself sick eating ice cream and milk he doesn't know what lactose is. (i made a silly poll about this once and the tags were very entertaining.)

i see minato as transmasc or nonbinary depending on the day (schrodinger's headcanons babey they're simultaneously true and not true at the same time!!). either way he's not cis to me and ryoji is like. His Gender. anyway go read this fic by nail_gun for t4t ryomina :D !

ryomina are WEIRD GUYS TO ME!!! they are so strange and they understand each other better than anyone else because of the circumstances of their relationship!!! if you asked them to do the "i wonder what i taste like" meme i think they'd start biting each other (affectionate) tbh but that's just me.

after ryoji gives minato the music box in 12/31 on reload, minato listens to the music box every night in january. this boy has insomnia and also chronic illness to me (things that housing death does to you). but i think he finds comfort in the melody and memories he made with ryoji.

in general, i think it's fun to imagine minato taking ryoji to places and show him things he's interested in! i feel that ryoji takes a lot of interest in minato's life, this isn't really a hc because in reload, minato DOES give ryoji a tour of the school (11/9) and possibly port island (11/12). but ITS CUTE OK! (tangentially related fanwork: this series of doodles from vinnigami: 1, 2, and 3)

not a hc but minato's kindness is like the backbone of their relationship and i think we would not have the ryomina we know and love today if minato wasn't such a kind soul. oh minato.... we can learn so much from you... like ryoji did!

Thought i'd explain my transmasc kenny hc cuz i dont really see it a lot man but it really makes sense! 🏳️‍⚧️

-from experience I know trans men love talking about their dicks 🔥 that totally exist 🔥 kenny's totally the type to make lotsa dick jokes out of everything like so much it's lowkey annoying like shut the fuck up

-he hides his face and voice (even if his speech is clear as mysterion) which is really typical of trans people due to dysphoria. I remember when I was 9 I would go to school in my stepdad's clothes even though they were like a million sizes too big

-the princess kenny persona. It reminds me a lot of how transmasc people will often embrace their femininity because of transphobia (especially at home) making it seem like they can only exist with a certain level of masculinity/femininity to be loved. I personally identify a lot with Princess Kenny because of this! To me, the whole thing just seemed like a metaphor for trans people (although a lot of people also interpret this as a transfem thing which is cool too!)

-alternatively mysterion is a complete and total rejection of this. It's becoming so masculine that you adhere to toxic standards of it to please others. It's another thing that I, as a transmasc person, really relate to, so I tend to interpret it that way!

-this one's a little niche but there's a little theory I had when I returned to school I like to refer to as A Million Little Deaths, basically referring to change and experiences "killing" different parts of us as new ones grow every second. Seeing a character go through this in a physical manner made me relate to him

-i also went through a period of being "highly sexually charged" around middle school so I tend to interpret the kenny sex obsession as a way for him to uphold toxic body standards for himself and his appearance as a "man". A young exposure like this also contributes to misogyny, internalized and such. This is partly why I don't specify him as a trans MAN or any specific gender, because it's difficult to tell which parts of MY identity are internalized misogyny and which parts are how I really feel. Since I am similar to him I think he might go through this as well.

-he's also just like me fr and im so trans it could kill a man! You guys remember the ep where he didn't wanna go to shop class so he took home ec? Reminds me a lot of the time when my weights teacher said the boys had to go run and I conveniently became a girl :3

Now for the Butters/Marj explanation (my favorite)

-okay so she's transfem and genderfluid to me right off the bat and my explanation has barely anything to do with canon. Of course there is the marj ep but I feel like that was more of an awakening.

-lots of bad things have happened to Butters throughout the show, but we also have Vic. This made me start thinking about character development and change and yada yada yada. When Butters presents more masculine, they behave a little more fearfully and carefully around others because that's who they've always been. When Marjorine is presenting more feminine, she is more outgoing and confident, but just barely because im not completely changing the character yk.

-the switch between Butters and Marjorine is kind of akin to how trans people get their spark back when they can finally present the way they want to, and the identity as Marjorine is a way for Butters to kind of experiment and express this. It's also a way for him to separate himself from things that have happened with a new name and face (not a good thing to do, though!)

-eventually, when Butters begins to process this trauma, he thinks that both of these names shouldn't really exist. It's not who she is. When Butters becomes Vic it's almost like a compound of these two lives and they can handle it now because they're more secure with themself

-Vic is also the perfect gender neutral name with both a masculine and feminine alternative (Victor and Victoria/Vicky). Basically genderfluidity final boss yk. Also transfems with facial hair big yippee from me! Yay!

-so to recap it IS kind of more of a metaphor thing but im not a fucking pussy so the character is ACTUALLY trans because trans people deserve representation and shit. So many people hate the Marjorine headcanon because "Butters didn't like being Marjorine" but did you ever consider what transphobia has done to trans people? I know the episode isn't out here screaming "HEY! TRANS RIGHTS!" of course but it's a really good depiction of how awfully trans people are treated. Nobody WANTS to be trans, it's just how they are and they can't help it and I feel like this character is a good depiction of how transphobia affects people in general yk? Okay sorry i got sappy blehh XP

Did I end up reading the comics for Mass Effect Evolution and the story I had for them for fun suddenly made a genuinely horrifying amount of sense? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Anyway, this is Cam. uwu I don't have a colored ref atm, mostly because of Art fight and I haven't had much time otherwise. They're transmasc and they're in a trio with Garrus and Saren. - Loves Garrus to bits, but there's a love/hate thing with Saren- thinks he's a jackass, completely and totally, and is the biggest brat with him, whereas they're more likely to be chill and calm with Garrus while also playfully challenging him just a little

- Will straight up be a dick to Saren when he starts his shite, and will absolutely call him an asshole to his face; Garrus doesn't exactly encourage it but he will sit and listen. Probably with popcorn.

- The whole thing with Saren honestly probably started a bit before Garrus, given they were similar in the fact that Cerberus brought them both back- him more immediately than them- and they helped get him tf out, but Garrus is the one who they eased up with quicker.

Honestly @draayder is the expert(?) here but I know that most phalloplasty technology was originally devised as reconstructive surgery for (usually older) cis men with less of a libido, and with more transmascs opting for bottom the tech is only getting better. Afaik some of the most common pump types need to be replaced every 3-5 years, which sucks ass, but apparently they're getting good enough that it could be more like 10-15 years, which sucks less, but I'd still like an erectile device that doesn't require getting my dick opened up every so often to replace the part that gives me a boner. They'll probably get there sooner rather than later and most of my other wants are probably gonna be fantasies unless we suddenly get REALLY good at growing new organs in petri dishes in the next decade or so but until then I will keep abreast of the developments in phallo technology by way of my partner who is actually the one keeping abreast of the technology

As for the delicacy of them...eh?? I'm not finding much in the way of like...numbers? I remember seeing a very funny out of context image of a diagram of a phallo dick balancing a 5 kilo weight on the glans to show off the erectile strength but otherwise here's an excerpt from a paper specifically about phalloplasty last year (2023).

For most of the characters I obviously read a lot into subtext and speculate about how they're absolutely not straight, but lucky for us, we do get canon queer characters!

So let this be me talking about Adam as bi representation and also throwing in (other people's) gender headcanons. As always, please tell me your thoughts in the notes <3

c) Adam Parrish

Sadly, I cannot speculate too much about Adam’s sexuality, as he is canonically the mean, witchy (and bitchy) bisexual.

There isn’t much I can say, really. Throughout the book series he displays interest in both Blue and Ronan. And also Greenmantle, but I would like all of us to ignore that because I want to believe Adam has good taste. Blue and Ronan as his love interests are essentially seen as equal. While I would say he had already had some repressed attraction for Ronan (see: him calling the swearing melodic, black-painted poetry- you normally wouldn’t feel like that for someone who just called you a motherfucker) in book one while dating Blue. Yet it becomes very much clear that he did have romantic feelings for Blue. Yes, the two of them were doomed from the start (but still pretty cute I’d say! Until things went to shit, that is), however, Blue is not treated by the narrative as some mistake before Adam figures out he’s actually gay (looking at you judgingly here, Rainbow Rowell). Neither was Ronan a quick, silly thing to see how it would feel to kiss the same gender. That is, like, very much very obvious, through the last five books. They are boyfriends, your honor.

At this point I would also like to give a shout-out to Adam Parrish and the Crying Club (which would make for a fire band name, just saying). This little group of queer people Adam collects at uni (in Call Down The Hawk) has my whole heart and I so wish we would have seen more of them, I am forever mourning their potential of silly, reoccurring side characters. What I’m trying to say though is this: The fact that Adam builds a group of queer people around himself (another one apart from the Gangsey) proves his sexuality even more, because we all know queer people flock towards each other.

Either way, canon bisexual, we love that. Moving on.

Honorary mention to the transmasc Adam headcanon that Tumblr user @barbaricpoetic compiles especially well in a post. I personally do not follow that headcanon, like of course I do not think Blue is supposed to be written as genderfluid in the books, but somehow I believe even less in trans Adam, but either way I do agree there is a lot of strong source material to support that headcanon. Check out the original post for a lot more detail, I don’t want to plagiarize all of that here either way, but here’s two especially solid hints: First of all, he does everything to appear more masculine, like working in typically male-dominated fields and dressing accordingly to that, while orientating his behavior on Ronan and Gansey, who, ironically, do not try as hard as him. Secondly, there’s physical descriptions, Adam being a lot more “elegant” and delicate than the other (Raven) boys Blue knows, with unusual features, and “blue eyes pretty enough for a girl”. Yeah, might be a coincidence, might be solid, queer truth.

This would all make so much sense, even within the books and all, there is just one, considerably big thing, that would not add up with this in canon. Adam’s rural-conservative shitbag of a father would never use the correct name and pronouns for his ftm child.

Either way, there might still be something fun going on with his gender that defies the binaries. Why do I think so? Well, Gansey says a very interesting thing. “Henry was a boy. Adam was a─ Gansey didn’t know.” I wish he would have told us what makes them different. What is it that Adam was? A man? A demiboy? A nonbinary person? A dinosaur in disguise? Please do enlighten us, Gansey. I’m assuming it’s got something to do with Adam being more mature than Henry (he definitely is), but like with Blue and the 300 Fox Way Women, it might be a gender thing, at least you can very easily lay it out to be that way.

To conclude as I will conclude every character part, I think Adam might possibly wear a crop top (might take him a while to accept masculinity is everything you want it to be and not just a certain aesthetic standard though), but absolutely not regularly and not around strangers or his parents.

Ship: It is my sincere belief that the Ancients are all basically just one big polycule. However, my personal preferred picks are PV x WL, PV x Hollyberry, and PV x Dark Enchantress (NOTE: THE LAST ONE WOULD TAKE PLACE ENTIRELY AFTER THE MAIN STORY. read my WL x DE fic for what that after-story would look like <3 specifically in that fic's continuity I think DE would eventually get comfortable enough that she'd begrudgingly allow him to visit and end up getting closer to him again, thus WL and DE can share him between each other :o3) BROTP: Starting to get sick of this category (i can't come up with anything) /j NOTP: Ok this one is harsh but. I'm not outright displeased by seeing it, I just don't think Shadownilla can happen like... At all. With what we have on Shadow Milk right now. No amount of kindness could save that strange sadistic jester man and it would ultimately be absolutely horrendous for both of them, PV would eventually realize he's being played and SM would realize he's not getting anywhere here, they're both kind of just too smart and completely opposite in their intent to work with each other, in my opinion. So while I'm putting Shadownilla here, understand that it's not from a position of "IF YOU SHIP THIS I WILL MURDER YOU IN YOUR SLEEP" or "this is problematic" or whatever, it's simply from the angle that I can't really see it happening with what we have on both characters right now.

Random Headcanon: There's the one I mentioned above in the Ship segment about he and WL coming out to each other at the academy, but I also 100% subscribe to the idea of PV being like a strange little old man who can't really maneuver modern technology all that well and his phone would probably be a complete mess. He's written more letters in his entire life than he ever will text messages, and will continue to be this way. My man is singlehandedly keeping the carrier pigeon economy alive all on his own.

General opinion: I WANT HIM.

He's genuinely so fucking cute. I swear to god. Everything about him. I'm a sucker for somewhat effeminate men with long hair, for one, and he's also just... Come on man, have you read his letters?!

He's actually adorable it drives me insane. His demeanor, the little details of how he talks, him doing stuff like feeding the birds and trying to make sure they're happy, the way he talks about his friends (lovers, if we're being realistic), he's just so. Man I would do unspeakable things to him but also I would give him the best aftercare of his life because he deserves it. I'm a sucker for characters whose primary motivator is an unrelenting, constant, fierce urge to care for others, the type where their kindness is primarily protective in nature, and they're more than willing to get under someone's skin or beat them at their own game if it means both protecting those he cares about and at least partially defeating a threat before anyone has even delivered a single blow. You can just tell his conversations with Dark Enchantress are a 50/50 split of genuine love and kindness and doing things he knows will get under her skin, and I love it.

Please, Sumire literally asks Makoto to teach her how to physically clock a bitch in the Theives Den, she's the first one who rushes into battle during Maruki's palace before The Revelation (AND she's verbally told to slow down by AKECHI), she kills three shadows SINGLEHANDEDLY during the intro to the game WHILE LANDING BACKFLIPS. ON HEELS. Sumire is by no means weak or shy in battle and she would be willing to knock a man unconscious if need be.

12 (except it's multiple bc i love her) - She'd be a featherman fan. Maybe not a fanatic, but she'd enjoy the show greatly! She'd also like Disney movies (though not the company itself because Fuck Disney) and taught herself how to pirate TV shows and films so that she could enjoy them in her spare time. Listen, i know she's a first year, but it is stated IN GAME that "the girl who died [Kasumi] was 15" and Sumire is brainwahsed by Maruki on the twins' birthday (according to the wiki) so she would be 16 instead of 15 and that innacuracy drives me a little nuts i think. However we know that fandom wikis aren't the end all be all of characetr info so correct me if i'm wrong

15- I guess i enjoy shu/sumi and sumi/taba* sometimes – their stuff can be rly cute tbh – but i think we were robbed of a bond between Akechi and Sumire. They're the only two theives who arent really members of the theives (Sumire being openly against their methods since they'd make society over-rely on them, Akechi being Akechi), They're both people who pretended to be someboy they weren't because of a single man who thought himself holy, they reunited with eachother at their realest moment (Akechi being Crow, Sumire awakening to who she really is). Akechi would have the opportunity to open himself up at his own pace with her instead of traumadumping to strategically get closer to chosen people, Sumire would get to be more walls-down and feel bad instead of just pretending to be ok. Sumire would learn to be more blunt with others and Akechi would get to be less defensive and mellow down. They're both more honest with eachother than with other people. do you see the vision?

Now i wouldn't say i ship them, moreso i see a Warriors Bond between them where saying friends is too simple but neither would want to kiss eachother on the mouth like That by any means (That is a Gay Man and a Lesbian your honor). They're two ppl who have their worst moments near eachother for an hour and then proceed to cuddle on the couch watching featherman to calm down.

today is the day i have fully, irrevocably realised 'queer' and 'transmasc' are the only labels that come anywhere near describing anything about me.

i used to be obsessed with finding a label. obsessed with figuring out the words that would describe me. but really, for me, i have figured out the specifics, no matter how narrow and pointed, could never fit me. there will always be some aspect of my identity that sticks a little awkwardly out of the box, or gets smooshed uncomfy, or has far too much space.

and that's okay !! i prefer the wide enclosure of 'queer', where i can roam and poke at all the boxes, to hiding in a specific nook, i prefer free-falling through the rainbow void rather than concretely standing on a particular island of identity, and that's not for everyone, and that's okay too !!

microlabels aren't for me, but they are helpful- because the definitions of them help me understand aspects of myself, because i can see how other people are so very different from me i can't conceive of their microlabel, because they're comfortable for some and they help filter out the people who get angry at xenogenders like it matters- and i love them with all my heart for that. but i could never, personally. AND THAT'S OKAY. we all have a different relationship to identity, and we deserve to feel comfortable in whatever way feels natural to us.

all this spurred on by the fact i have realised in the span of a few days some of my romantic orientation specifics and some of my sexual orientation specifics as well as that my gender is so fucking non-specific it is just a cloud at this point.

if anyone cares what i realised i get deeply obsessed about people and crave romance with them but if they reciprocate the attraction dies and i do not want any sex ever but it's fun to imagine characters having sex. both of those have proper names. however i do not care for the names because there are exceptions to both so it's whatever.

Am I bugging out? I thought privilege also had to do with the entitlement/behavior that the privilege would curate in the person over time. Like how cis men statistically do not fear traveling alone at night (or at least do not expect being assaulted) and the privilege of not fearing this. When anyone becomes visibly trans (fem, masc and anything else), this privilege is shot dead. Also, you don't know who is and isn't trans, both on and behind the camera. Demanding that we trans people, or any queer people, come out for representations sake is, in short, harmful. We don't need to bring every single aspect of a persons life to light for ourselves, even if they're on screen. But most glaringly to me, it really feels like a tokenization of transfems? Like... if there were even 3 or more regularly seen transmasc comedians, I would really start to question this and be worried. But at the moment, I don't know why there MUST be a trans women to balance things out. It would be super nice to have, yes, but we also don't want dropout to go out of their way to do this for the sake of having it be balanced. We want it to be genuine.
