Imma divide them by the four main bots to make it more organized then imma put more generalized headcanons below it

Heatwave

-When he wants to clear his head, he loves going on a water adventure, and by water adventure i mean he’d turn to a boat and stray as far away from land as possible, then completely stop in the middle of the ocean, letting the waves drift him off to whatever direction they please, the isolation combined with the rhythm of the waves help

-his constant martial arts training is not only his way of venting, but his way to calm the anxious thoughts of being unable to protect his family when they truly need him

-finds difficulty in distinguishing between what he wants and what he truly needs (for example, being on team Prime is what he wants, being a rescue bot alongside his friends who he knew for a millenia is what he needs)

-gives off so much youngst child energy, I like to believe he’s the youngest of the group, ironically, despite his arrangement in the age ladder, he has eldest daughter syndrome

-naver uses words to express his love for his family, but always shows it through the little things he does like chasing zombie hamsters when Blades tells him to, his love language is acts of service

-He and Hightide become good friends actually, grumpy meanie on the outside, absolute softy on the inside duo

-besties with Quickshadow

-the reason he seems angry all the time is cause he doesn’t really know how to express his emotions any other way, anger is easier to translate into actions

-speaking of anger, I’d say he’s become angrier than he used to be, all due to different circumstances like waking up from stasis to find out his home is gone, having to pretend to be a lifeless machine and getting used to their new home, anger is just another word for grief

-and speaking of finding out Cybertron is dead, he blames himself to an extent, self loathing for not being part of the fight, and that’s why he’s so adamant about joining team Prime at the beginning (it absolutely is not his fault)

-greatly enjoys hugs, he’d just never admit it (not that he needs to, his fam got him <3)

-he finds kids incredibly annoying, yet he loves them dearly, he has a big mom mode

-speaking of mom mode, HW is what you’d call a Mama-bear

-he’d never admit it, but he likes his boat mode far more than any of his other modes

Boulder

-boulder sometimes wishes he could use different art mediums like digital art, but is unable to due to his size, which then is solved when his family makes a screen big enough for him to use with an art program to try out

-while emotionally intelligent, he sometimes struggles with expressing his emotions through words, that’s why art is great for him as a tool to express himself, he doesn’t need words when he can draw his feelings

-outta the bots he misses Cybertron the most, but is the best at coping with his loss compared to the others

-I like to believe he’s the oldest, and while HW is usually the one to take care of the team, Boulder acts as a mediator (and as the voice of reason) when HW’s anger gets the better of him

-he’s the sunshine the team desperately needs, his optimism and kindness is contagious in the best possible way

-he strives to make everyone happy, which means he sometimes forgets that his own happiness matters too

-autism creature

-the best at social interactions

Chase

-Chase enjoys games that gives him a challenge and makes him use his brain, like chess and jigsaw puzzles

-also autism creature

-he and Blades are super close, and that’s in part due to the fact they’re both middle children, Chase would be second oldest

-Protective of Blades

-his love for laws is both cause they’re interesting to him, and cause they make more sense to him then the mess that is life which can be really unpredictable

-isn’t afraid to speak what’s on his mind, good at being polite while doing so tho

-loves to go on late night rides with Charlie

-a workaholic night owl, yet an early bird, yes both at the same time, Heatwave keeps an eye on him to make sure he recharges and doesn’t work himself to death

-loves writing actually and while bad at it, it doesn’t stop him from keeping it up, happy creator goals

-relies upon his brain rather than heart most of the time, yet to find a balance between both

-has high pain tolerance and low pain sensitivity, which means he sometimes doesn’t realize how hurt he is unless it’s really bad

-low empathy, compassionate still

Blades

-has Thanatophobia (aka death anxiety, which is an intense fear of death whether for one’s own life or the death of people they love, i like to believe his fear is in line with the death of loved ones)

-second youngest

-Adhd-er, fixates super hard on tv shows

-has nightmares, goes to Chase for comfort

-opposite of Chase, low pain tolerance and high pain sensitivity, which makes getting hurt an absolute nightmare, jinxed to always get hurt in some way shape or form

-don’t let him know about horror games, he’d play them nonstop

-really emotionally sensitive, has abandonment issues

-gender? what’s that? Literally uses he/him mainly simply cause people used that for him and he honestly doesn’t care so he went with it, any pronouns queen

-if he could, he’d wear a lot of dresses

-clouds are his worst enemy

-a lot smarter than what he’s given credit for, despite his anxiety, as an emergency medical bot, he has the best sense of danger and is the best at assessing the situation around him

-loves to receive compliments from those who don’t impress easily (Hightide and Heatwave)

General headcanons

-HW and Quickshadow train together sometimes

-Quickshadow loves to finish rescue missions before any of the bots arrive sometimes cause she loves to piss off HW, bestie goals

-despite Blurr’s behavior with HW, Blurr genuinely looks up to him, too bad HW has a bit of a thick skull to realize it

-Blurr loves to make up quotes that he then claims to have been said by some of the great leaders of cybertron, he’d say shit like “ as Optimus Prime himself once said ‘there’s not greater strength than speed’”

-Salvage is a unique embodiment of the “looks like a cinnamon role, can actually kill you” meme, he’s a gentle giant but also can kill you if he gets angry enough, which doesn’t happen easily which means you have to be such a douchebag to anger him tho you can save yourself cause he’s also easy to calm

-Blurr has raced against Knockout at least once without realizing it

-after the war ended, the rescue bots had to deal with some negativity concerning how “they never got their hands dirty” aka never fought in the war, they got through it together tho, Hightide (as a respected bot) doesn’t let them get hated under his watch whenever he’s around

-Hightide’s fave bot is Blades, no one needs to know about that tho

I HAVENT POSTED FROM THE LAST TIME I PLAYED I HAVE TO DO THAT AT SOMEPOINT… I made it to the beginning of act 3 and baldur’s gate is the sort of game where when I sit down and play it it’s Baldurs Gate Day and that’s all I’m gonna do (much like regular dnd with my group lmao) but let me say the stakes have certainly UPPED. I TOOK SCREENS AGES AGO BTW and have not edited them

I’m still so amazed at how immersive this game is when it comes to the world you’re adventuring in, there’s so many neat little moments you can stumble upon and I adore all of the companions so much, I’ll just talk to them as we’re adventuring to see what they’re reactions to different things are and just weaugh… they feel like people and it’s so cool getting to see how this adventure and your influence changes the outcomes of their stories.

Also just as another fun note it’s helped me with learning normal dnd 5th edition mechanics and stats n stuff so when I play with my family I’ve been able to understand some thing better which is just nice for being able to manage my character (there’s bg3 Vander and dnd tabletop Vander and they’re both great)

Also the orb is healing well ty for asking!!! I actually just ended the antibiotics I had to take! Not gonna lie tho I am generally kinda beat. I got sick and there’s been a lot of life stuff happening this week that wasn’t supposed to happen (I have got a STORY for u my dude) so it’s just a Lot!! BUT I am not one for sorrows and either way everything will work out 😌

💕💛📿 for your tavs!!

💕 Did your Tav romance anyone? What did their lives together look like after the end of the game?

Val: Horrible little Astarion romancer <3 Post-game things are a little rough for a while, because they’re both selfish people navigating the first romantic relationship either of them have been in (at least since Astarion became a vampire, idk if he was in any before that) and they’re both learning how to, like, actually care about another person. (Luckily they have a strong support network in the rest of their companions, and their families, and slowly start working through all their issues.)

I think they end up spending half their time living in the Underdark (where they’ve been trying to set up some kind of society for the vampire spawn, and Val finally meets their father and his family) and around Baldur’s Gate, where they’re closer to most of their companions and the rest of their families. (I’m determined that Astarion gets to reconnect with his biological family after the events of the game.)

Eiryn: She romanced Karlach, and had a wonderful time with her, and then at the end of the game Karlach died. Eiryn mourns for a long time, but I like to think she eventually moves on and finds a new girlfriend, while never forgetting Karlach.

Lee: Wyll romance! Before Moonrise Towers, Lee and Astarion are fuckbuddies who keep getting distracted from actually having sex to go “Okay but did you see how hot Wyll looked today though. Wyll’s so perfect <3” Lee eventually convinces Wyll he’s able to be a romantic while having two partners, and if he and Astarion are happy with each other then so are they.

Immediately post-game, Lee and Wyll want to go to Avernus with Karlach, and bring Astarion along to No Sun Land. I think the four of them have several more adventures in both Avernus and Faerun before eventually settling down together in Baldur’s Gate (once Karlach has a working heart and, if they’re very luckily, once Astarion is unvampired). Wyll might eventually end up becoming Grand Duke, but I’m not sold on that. I think he and Lee adopt kids at some point (whether Astarion is also part of that, I’m unsure).

💛 Which of your non-romanced companions did your Tav stay closest to after the end of the game? Which companions drifted apart?

(Just doing the main six companions here, since I decided to answer for all three of my guys.)

Val: Besties with Shadowheart forever. She’s one of the main reasons they don’t want to spend all their time in the Underdark, but even when they’re down there, the two of them are writing to each other constantly.

They didn’t do enough to discourage Gale from being a god, so he starts drifting away from Val and the rest of the group. Things are Tense during the epilogue party and only get worse. Until, I think, a year or so on, when the gang Gets Back Together to go and stop Gale’s latest Dickhead God Bullshit, and redeem him with the power of love and “you’ve always been enough for us, idiot”. After that… these guys are Val’s family, and they’re never drifting away from them again.

Eiryn: Eiryn kind of drifted from everyone after Karlach’s death. She wanted to be alone for a while, and had a big fight with Wyll in the aftermath. (He was the only member of the party who could cast Darkness, so I figured he’d be busy stopping Astarion from dying and therefore… end up missing Karlach’s death. He’s distraught over it, and feels Eiryn should’ve done more to encourage Karlach to go back to Avernus, and they both say some unpleasant things to each other in their grief. They eventually apologise and make up during the epilogue party.)

She ultimately remains closest with Gale, and I think moves in somewhere around Waterdeep, having never been particularly happy around Baldur’s Gate. But she travels a lot, and makes sure to see all her friends at least semi-regularly.

Lee: Obviously very close to Astarion and Karlach, and wants them to always be a big part of her life. Outside the Wyll/Astarion/Karlach group who she’s living with, she keeps in closest touch with Gale, but makes sure not to lose touch with any of the party.

📿 Are there any specific items that your Tav kept as heirlooms, or were otherwise significant to them for sentimental reasons? Did they give any of them as gifts to their companions?

Val: Val quite likes collecting gemstones and books, but for sentimental items, they buy up every unique item Mattis sells, and hangs onto it despite their shitty 8 Strength Inventory Capacity. They love their tiefling son and wear his Ring of Being Really Invisible all game. I think they gave Shadowheart the ring of ant resistance too. It’s Important.

Eiryn: Eiryn doesn’t generally care about physical items all that much. I do think she adopts Clive after Karlach’s death though.

Lee: Unlike Eiryn, Lee fucking Loves physical items and is going to get as many as they possibly can. At the start of the game, they’re waking up covered in blood with no memory of anything and a weird desire to cut everyone they meet up into little pieces, but one of the biggest problems is that they’re pretty sure they used to have a bone collection, and now it’s completely gone, and they’re gonna have to start collecting every bone they find to build it back up. (They eventually decide they like it far more than the original bone collection, which they think they might have got in even more unethical circumstances than their current graverobbing.)

Lee also, however, notices their companions are all missing their bone collections, and are denying ever experiencing the joys of having one. They gift each of their companions a skull; it’s a good bone to start with if they ever do want to make their own collections, and if not, Lee still likes to give them as tokens of affection.

They also like giving Wyll all the best jewellery and any pretty shells that they find.

alright who wants to hear me ramble about aang & ty lee’s relationship

okay. so. during canon they obviously don’t interact much (other than fighting and even then they fight others from their respective groups) but after the war (and after ty lee has worked through her nationalism & imperialism etc) I think they have such potential to be besties.

they’re both cheerful optimists but while aang is genuinely like that, ty lee’s personality is just a façade, so I think it would be interesting to see how that would play out. would ty lee keep up her mask or would she just Be Herself? (whatever that self is. at what point can you still distinguish the mask from the wearer etc etc).

they would have a lot of fun together, pulling shenanigans and helping out people (aang asks ty lee to come along and, like with everything, she comes because it seems fun. her moral compass is surrounded by magnets and distributing food and supplies in a town hit by a natural disaster & causing chaos by manipulating people for laughs have the same place on the spectrum of “how likely is it for ty lee to do this”, which ranges from “listening to zuko rant about whatever has upset his royal majesty this time” to “less likely to bore her to death” (like listening to mai poke fun at said rants.) (words related to morality are not, in fact, to be be found on that spectrum.) aang tries to make sure her powers are used for good instead of Whatever she does when she’s bored, so asking her to help out with his restoration of the air temples it is.)

I also like to think that, post-canon, ty lee would get into spirituality a bit. aang teaches her meditation, and soon, their shenanigan-committing is moved to the spirit world. they befriend lots of spirits together. I think ty lee would also be interested in the stories of aang’s adventures before the war and air nomad culture and customs (this would be especially meaningful if you headcanon her as having air nomad heritage.) aang turns out to be a great storyteller, and he loves having somebody he can talk to about the past. not that others don’t, but ty lee is a good listener and loves asking questions.

they bake together (pies become their specialty; they always turn up at others’ doors with full boxes because they made too many). they go foraging, but vow to never go again when they almost die from eating poisonous berries (thank the spirits for the fact that sokka and katara were nearby). (they go again like a month after that. this time, though, they take toph and suki and sokka with them.) they have sleepovers & paint their nails together. they wake up early and go for hiking before breakfast because they are, unfortunately, Like That. ty lee is aang’s judge/food tester/guinea pig when he invents countless recipes with lychee nuts as main ingredient (leading, with sokka’s help, to the invention of sorbet ice cream.) they braid appa’s hair and do it all over again a week later, now complete with hair decorations. (they try to do the same to momo but he is, unfortunately, a less willing test subject. well, it’s not like he has much fur anyway.)

they have philosophical conversations at 3 a.m. and end up with notes only they can comprehend. they dress up as each other. they ride the elephant koi at kyoshi island (or maybe only aang does. ty lee lives there and has heard enough stories about the unagi, so she’s more than okay with standing off to the side just yelling encouragement at him.) aang is the guinea pig for ty lee’s make-up experiments. pranking zuko is one of their fave pastimes. they do acrobatics together. nobody can withstand the assault that is their combined puppy eyes when they’re trying to get something they want.

he hates anything w a lot of people in it so he prefers to stay at wangshu inn tyvm

but by contrast, you love liyue harbor sm (it’s gorgeous i mean c’mON)

you go there often to retrieve your commissions in order to stay closer to xiao (liyue harbor is closer than mondstadt he argues but you’re well aware that they’re both equally far away)

so if anyone asked, xiao would absolutely refuse to go to the harbor like i hate people??? why would you even ask???

but,,,he’s so sOFT for you

if you asked??? he would agree in a heartbeat

but since he’s >:( angsty boy, he makes you think that he won’t go even when he’s already decided that he’s coming w you

he puts up the “if you so require, then i guess i will assist you with your travels in liyue harbor” but in reality he would definitely have said yes even without the almond tofu

while he hates the harbor, he thinks that with you anything is bearable :,) simp

you take him to see xinyan to vibe w her music and you can tell he really enjoys it

even tho he’s like 🕴 the entire time, you see the softer look on his face and the very slight smile on his lips as he listens to the music and watches the crowd

so so so cute very soft for him

i do see him as a subtly touchy person in public like brushing the hair off your face, swiping his thumb across your cheek, or gently pulling your hair back when you have a plate of food in your hands 

the type to link your pinkies together - he claims it’s so you don’t get lost but yk better 

after the concert is done you take him to that one waypoint near mt. tianheng and the both of you just watch the city lights and the way they reflect beautifully on the water surrounding the harbor 

personal headcanon that xiao absolutely loves stargazing since he believes the stars are the one true constant in his life especially since he’s experienced so much loss (basically they’ll never leave him god i hate myself why do i make everything SAD)

mini headcanon off of that - he doesn’t stargaze with people,,, like ever 

it’s something he loves to do alone so the fact that he lets you stargaze w him and even allows you to shift your head onto his lap while you watch the sky is a huge deal 

he loves it when you softly whisper abt how your day was or something you saw that made you laugh 

he just loves hearing your voice, it automatically calms the voices in his head 

you absolutely ADORE when he has flowers in his hair especially cecilias (cecillias? ceccillias? idfk) and you make a point whenever you go to mondstadt to pick a fresh batch of cecilias just for xiao while enlisting the help of your favorite bard  

these soft moments on the mountain are usually when you’ll sweetly tuck in a flower or two in his hair while laughing 

he’ll blush fiercely while looking away but will tuck the cecilias in securely as you’re unable to do so due to the position you’re in on his lap

all in all - this was not meant to come out as a date idea but we’re going w it 

this is so cute xiao pls let me put flowers in your hair sweet boy <3

god, loml, my favorite war criminal after eren yeager 

there’s never a dull moment w this man - if you wanted peace and quiet, why the hell are you dating him bestie???

is the type of person to yell out “Y/N, i can’t believe i ran into you here!” if he sees you somewhere even tho you explicitly told him you were going to be here in the morning (ik you have a good memory ajax don’t lie to me 😐)

i don’t see him as being obnoxious w pda unlike someone else kaeya but he would definitely participate (think: handholding, cheek kisses, an arm around your shoulders)

loves it when he comes home and sees you in an apron cooking 

domesticity just makes his heart melt so you can be sure that your face will be peppered w a lot of kisses afterwards <3 

absolutely ADORES it when you trace his scars absentmindedly when you’re lying down or even when you’re having dinner in public  

he’s been far from his family for so long that small acts of mindless affection like this really make his heart happy

not so mysterious anymore when they literally see him cling onto you during his daily patrol around the harbor 💀

you pulled beidou??? wow everyone’s jealous (pulled as in literally from the banner and in this context but no i do not have beidou and no i definitely do not want to talk abt it)

god made beidou and zhongli just so all of us could have a sexuality crisis 

anyways, being w her is hard i will not lie 

not bc she isn’t a capable lover - no, quite the contrary 

she’s an amazing partner but the problem here lies in the fact that she’s almost never on land 

it’s hard working a long distance relationship but y’all love each other so it works out :,) 

when she is physically present however, expect to never be bored 

she’ll quietly fix the wrinkles on your shirt or fiddle with your fingers in her hands while she recounts her adventures out on sea 

she sometimes gets worried she bores you, however the way your eyes light up every time she tells a tale always reassures her otherwise

definitely the type to let you use her claymore if you want to learn 

she’ll provide useful tips as she tucks her hands into your sides gently, positioning you correctly so you don’t hurt yourself 

miss girl is an AMAZING cook 

i just know she cooks the best meals - i mean she’s friends w xiangling after all 

whenever she comes home from a voyage she’ll always insist on making something for you even if she’s abt to pass out 

pls tuck her into bed and promise her that she can make you something in the morning <3 the poor woman needs rest 

brings you back trinkets but they’re actually very practical 

she knows you won’t have much use for a simple charm (not that there’s anything wrong w that) but she believes you’ll like something practical more so she might get you a new engraved knife from the most recent place she’s been to

not that big of a deal, i mean it’s a scratch, he’s a 6,000 year old god, he’s dealt w much worse 

but seeing the worried crease in your brows as you usher him to sit at the table while quickly grabbing antiseptic to clean his wound

you quietly protest abt how “yes zhongli, i understand you’re an archon and have gotten worse injuries but i’m worried about infection just please let me take care of you ok? <3″ 

when you say that he feels weird emotions,,, wdym take care of him? 

he’s always taken care of himself or been expected to take care of others as the former ruling deity of liyue so having someone else genuinely worry abt his wellbeing creates a warm feeling in his chest 

he strikes me as the type to knit you something??? idk maybe it’s the grandpa vibes but i headcanon that he would knit you a scarf for the colder weather, it’s cute 

in the privacy of your home, he really likes picking you up

he loves it when you wrap your legs around his middle while he gets up to go do the dishes or smthg

and he’d probs relate to bucky since they both have trauma from being forced to kill & torture people against their will.

dean’s relationship with carol would kinda be like his relationship with claire, minus the father/daughter dynamic. and he’d admire nat a lot but also be super intimidated by her. obvs him & clint would go drinking together and be a menace to society.

Oh God!!! Baby!!!🥺🥺😭 This is such a favorite AU of mine!! I’m literally— sorta— writing a To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before AU right now and they are the bestest siblings in that!!!  They share a little sister and they are just so cute!! And Petunia is conveniently off in university oaiwefjoiaswejfiogreghoij And I just love Remus and Lily both so much it hurts!!! And so I wanna spit out a bullet point Ficlet at you! And I’m not even sorry just because I love you so endlessly for tossing this into my inbox foiwaeifmkaeoirfgjieoarujoidkioweajgh 

So like in my head, becs that Voldy bitch doesn’t know how to actually world build, the Muggle born children who get their Hogwarts letters, are also invited to join this like support group for ordinary folks with magical children. It’s like a thing that’s held in the Ministry of magic over in London once a month, and the parents are taught about the Wizarding world while their children kind of go to this separate room to intermingle and read Hogwarts; A History with one another, and just vibe, because pure bloods and those close to that have always sorta known one another and such, so this is a nice way for the Muggle borns not to feel so excluded.

So the thing is, obviously Lyall was a wizard, but also we all know I don’t fuck with him lmfao. So I picture that after he leaves for the final time when Remus is around nine, and finalizes the  divorce with Hope, she— being the bad bitch that she is, just marches to the ministry with her half-blood, werewolf son, and demands to learn everything about the world he’s part of, because she refuses to let him be deprived of anything. 

Eventually she becomes one of the tutors for the adult section because she’s such a quick study— being a professor herself back in Cardiff and just being an all around bombshell tbh. So one day, in February of 1970, there’s this ginger haired, northerner who stumbles in with his daughter who looks so much like him that it’s crazy— dimples and smile and upturned nose. Though she has her mother’s eyes, who had past away when she was only seven from a freak car accident.

And when he first shake’s Hope’s hand, he’s like kind of mind boggled over how beautiful she is, and thinks that maybe all wizards just put on some sort of charm to look unearthly, till he finds out that she’s as Muggle as he is towards the end of his visit. And he is just entirely love struck tbh.

And for the next couple months or so, he kind of just yearns from afar, and then spends the ride home to Cokeworth listening to Lily’s excited chortling about her friend Remus who’s apparently a half blood and who likes the same treats as her and knows how to draw things so amazingly, and it isn’t until like May, when he ambles to the other room and realizes that Remus is actually Hope’s fucking son, and he already knows that she said she began this group after separating from her husband who was a wizard himself. So Lily’s father— Nate— quite literally just shoots his shot and asks if Lily would like to get ice cream with her new friend since Petunia won’t be coming back from there Grams’s house till late, and Hope sorta smirks from over the kids’ heads because she sees exactly what he’s doing and is impressed that he’s finally done something for fuck’s sake.

And like obviously they fall hard for one another, and they probs get married like Lily’s second year at Hogwarts.

Wait, just Lily’s you ask??

Yes my beautiful duckling,  because plot twist!! (We lovee plot twists!!!)

In this AU i picture that McGonagall kind of visits during the summer months leading up to the children’s first year at Hogwarts, just to give them some supplementary readings and answer the questions for their future schooling, and when Dumbledore tells her about Remus’s full situation with his lycanthropy and all, she does some research, and figures out how Beauxbatons is much, MUCH more accommodating to “dark” creatures, and she’s already pretty chummy with Hope and knows that she’s actually a French citizen herself, the daughter of Algerian immigrants. So Remus technically has the possibility to attend Hogwarts or Beauxbatons, and so Hope and Remus talk on it long and hard, and she knows he’s already become fast friends with Lily and their thick as thieves with one another, but it’s also just so much safer for him.

So the week before Lily is set to go off to King’s Cross, they fly over to France and they get Remus settled in his dorm abroad.

I think while they’re away, Lily and Remus actually somehow become closer, because their parents are still dutifully dating and neither of them are all that familiar with their surroundings, so they send one another so many fucking letters through that first term, that the owls of their schools always give them the dirtiest looks lmfao. And they really catch on like a house on fire, like it’s one of those relationships that is just innate? Like you know when you have a best friend you guys kind of just slip into one another lives? Like even when you don’t talk for a while or whatever, it’s just natural<3 <3 

So neither of them ever spend the hols of winter or spring in Hogwarts/Beauxbatons, becs that’s when they really get to vibe.

They tell one another the different cool charms they’ve learned, and hate that they can’t show them with their actual wands yet. And they watch all their favorite films and almost adopt this secret language that’s only the quirk of their brows and twitch of the lips, and Petunia hates how freakily attuned they are with one another and sneers at them for being such freaks in all aspects. Also in this AU Lily fucks off from Snape wayyyy sooner, because instead of having to deal with that nasty, bigoted, slime ball she has the cutest and funniest and most amazing bestie in Remus!

And before Hope and Nate exchange vows in the winter of their second year, the little family of five go to this tiny park that’s all lush grassland and a shiny jungle gym and a pair of swings tucked away by trees, and they sit at this picnic table, and Hope— with her steady, ever buoyant voice, explains to them why she and Remus decided to send him to Beauxbatons instead of Hogwarts, and Petunia is like gawking in fright, and Nate looks sort of distressed, but Lily just cocks her head and shrugs her shoulders, because it’s still Remus— her closest companion Rem— and nothing could change that. So she takes his hand from where it’s fiddling with a splintered piece of wood on the tabletop and she squeezes it tightly, watches him glance up at her with the late summer wind billowing in his tawny curls and the fear in his honey eyes, and she simply tells him that it doesn’t matter. And Lily will never forget the way his features spasm at that, going suddenly loose and bright and thankful, and then Nate probably tousles his hair and kisses Hope’s temple and shyly asks how they should accommodate once they move in with one another.

And that park becomes sorta special tbh.

It’s in that alcove with the swings and trees where Lily and Remus go when things are becoming too much, or they would just like to escape the world by one another’s side.

It’s where they tried their first cigarettes that Remus had gotten from an older bloke in Beauxbaton’s when they were thirteen and feeling adventurous. And where they go to listen to the releases of their favorite albums, and when Remus told Lily that he’s gay for the first time before leaving to both their fourth years and it’s like one of those spots they both think of and feel golden.

Oh God! Imagine how cute of a celebration that Nate and Hope hold for them both becoming prefects!!! Hope and Nate definitely insist on some sort of summer todo! And they invite their friends and all that jazz and OMFG what if Lily’s wearing some sorta powder blue sundress that matches Remus’s oxford shirt and they both are grimacing in all the photos and are just not thriving foieajfoierjgiearfoijsdkgxh But like they would be doted on rotten that whole day! This is so cute! OMFG! And this probs means James became Prefect as well and so Remus gets to tease her when he sends her some sort of congratulations letter and she’s totally blushing and trying to hide her grin, and Lily retaliates by kicking his ankle tbh bahaha 

Okay also now I’m thinking of like Lily’s like fifth year, and her Muggle studies class is doing some sort of seminar to see if these idiots can actually survive in a totally Muggle area without a lick of magic, so like it’s spring hols, and guess who she’s partnered up with??? 

Cookies for you because we all know she had to work with James and Sirius lmfao!!! 

And she’s totally still trying to hide her crush on James— who’s nearly always leering and winking her way— and she might actually punch Sirius’s face simply because he’s such a smug bastard, and being from a working class family like herself, she’s like always ready to fight preppy rich boys tbh

So James and Sirius decide to plan out the simulation in her house that’s right outside Cardiff and Remus is cackling the entire morning before they’re set to arrive because she’s so pissy about it lmfao

Okay so like obviously the boys end up taking the port key and land in front of her place and it’s Remus who answers the door, still painted with humor because Lily was just screaming about “if Potter brings that insufferable snitch here I’ll bloody shove it up his arse” and James is immediately on the defense because Lily’s only ever talked about her sister and brother who live with her at home, and this dude is golden where she’s pale and has curls over her straight hair and just, obviously they’re not related by blood at all. And for his part, Sirius is like *Oh! Oh! Oh! Pretty!!! Pretty boy!! Muggle boy? Pretty Muggle boy!* 

But Remus obviously knows who they are straight away, so he like waves them inside before rounding to the stairs and calling for her to stop clogging the toilet or something else mortifyingly embarrassing, and Lily promises to put like pickles in the next set of face masks that they do because she knows how fucking allergic he is to them, and she wants her chuckles damn it!!  

“Potter— Black,” is how she greets them with a derisive sort of glower that Remus can completely see through, so he has to excuse himself while laughing over to the kitchen. “You’ve met my delightful brother I see.”

And James’s entire posture relaxes and he’s back to grinning like a dope, and the only weird part is that Sirius has got on the very same face, *Pretty Muggle boy is Evan’s brother* So like they are both scary levels of elated, rip.

But sucks to be Sirius because Remus leaves after that to meet up with a friend from town who’s also the best dealer tbh, and  so he has to deal with James’s awful levels of flirting with Lily while they scrounge up their itinerary to send their professor for the seminar type thing, and he doesn’t even have a pretty distraction XS

But Lily does force Remus to come along with her on the trip to London because “On God, if I spend a day alone with those bellends by myself I will punch a wall” 

And it is literally the worst, but best double date/first date that’s full of Sirius and James fucking up with everything— including asking some poor Tesco employee where are their fudgeflies and giving a homeless man a hand full of galleons and James’s snitch somehow ending up in the meaty hands of some kid at the tube. But also tbh it’s hella cute when Lily lets James give her his jacket when they’re walking along the Thames and it’s getting chilly, and when Remus lets Sirius share his stick of cotton candy and they both sorta stare at the sugar on each of their lips.

But then they go to some tiny museum, and while they’re looking at a impressionist piece, Sirius is totally trying to show off to Remus and is explaining how he could turn the bench their sitting on into a really nice bouquet of Lupins, and in the middle of his stupid showboating, Remus lightly corrects him on some facet of Gamp’s law, and Sirius freezes— shocked still— and he’ sort of gaping like an idiot, before Lily stops his blustering with a scoff “He’s a damn wizard also you arse.”

And Sirius is floundering for the rest of the evening, and he has so many questions, but they all die on his lips every time he glances over at Remus and he’s just smirking at him with this electric glint in his golden eyes

So obviously when they’re back at Hogwarts he pesters Lily every second of every day about Remus, and why he’s not at Hogwarts. “None of your fucking business.” And asking where Remus goes instead. “Beauxbatons, thankfully far away from you.” and he asks her about a thousand other questions that Lily either scoffs at or simply cuffs him around the head for daring to even try getting his address.

And she pokes fun about the situation to Remus and tells him how much more of an idiot he’s acting like, and how hilarious it all is. And she’s shocked when he responds to her letter merely by saying, “Hah- he’s cute.”

And so obviously she shoots back a reply that’s a letter of all his worst traits, mainly that he’s an arrogant toerag, and that he’s a posh idiot who could probably live off his inheritance for three lifetimes without blinking, and about how he doesn’t date anyone for longer than a couple months, and how he’s practically brothers with James bloody Potter, and yet again, Remus just tells her, Hah- he’s cute, before mildly moving to talking about his latest charms paper and how he’s been asked to be their DADA’s professors TA next year, and how Andrew keeps trying to try again with him but Remus would rather poke his eyes out with a spork.

So Lily is totally fuming when she recognizes that she’s lost and begrudgingly gives Sirius Remus’s info, after telling him lowly and with her most menacing glower, “IF you fuck around with my brother I will murder you without a flinch.” And she’s quite literally five feet nothing to Sirius’s broad, six-foot frame, but he knows that she could do it with a snap of the finger, and he promises that it’s not just a gag on his end. And Lily actually believes him.

So Remus and Sirius begin writing to one another a sickening amount, like so steadfastly that it gives Lily a complex whenever she finds Sirius waiting at the Owlry every Wednesday morning for the bird that arrives with two letters tied to it’s leg, one for each of them.

And God, one time, right before they let out for summer hols, Lily accidentally takes the one marked for Sirius— and holy christ!!!, She did not need to know just what exactly her brother has been getting up to in the sex department of things— like she legit contemplated using a memory charm on herself JFC

And Sirius probably ends up on their doorstep again in late July, with James at toe, and somehow their is a small harmony painted between the four of them, and it’s by Christmas of sixth year when James and Sirius begin talking about how amazing it’ll be when they’re actually in-law brothers, and Lily blames Remus for everything when she’s pretending to be cross over it, but then James puts his arm around her shoulders, and she sees how gentle Sirius is when he twines his fingers into Remus’s own, and it feels good, feels right. 

It feels like something that can be forever.

My hot take on DT17 Donald’s relationship dynamics with his friends and loved ones, using BNHA as a reference

Mickey and Donald: Mickey’s Midoriya, no question about that. However, I also think of DT17 Mickey as someone who has more in common with Red Riot than he lets most people think- Mickey’s issues are more like Kirishima’s than Deku’s, and college Mickey was deep in the process of reinventing himself. Donald? He’s Bakugo AND Todoroki (Bakugo’s anger, drive, and determination to work hard; Todoroki’s jaded perspective on certain things, his mixed feelings on heroics, and his large, complicated family dynamics). Small wonder they’re pals. Aside from sharing some of the same hobbies and values, Mickey admires many of Donald’s qualities- especially the ones Mickey doesn’t have, like Donald’s ability to say no to anyone. Once Donald looks past his own jealousy and insecurities and sees that Mickey 1) is genuinely kind, 2) works just as hard as he does, even if he isn’t weighed down by the same luck, 3) has quite a bit in common with Della and Scrooge, 4) has quite a bit in common with Donald, and 5) isn’t offering to be his friend out of pity...Donald accepts. It’s one of the best decisions either of them will ever make.

Donald and Goofy: Goofy is the Mirio to Donald’s Tamaki. I think of DT17 Goofy as someone a little older than Mickey and Donald. He’s okay with goofing up. He’s happy and content himself in a way that Mickey’s and Donald’s goals and ambitions (the standards they set for themselves) will never really let them. Mickey is a perfectionist and a visionary; Donald works just as hard, but his stubbornness, bad luck, and speech impediment keep him from achieving the career success he deserves.

Donald and Della: Della is the Kirishima and Mirio to Donald’s Tamaki. Donald is a pessimist. Della is an optimist. They see the best in each other, and it’s great. However, Donald thinks worse of himself, while Della is too impulsive. She’s deeply beholden to what she thinks others expect her to be. As I mention below, Della has a bit in common with Midoriya and Bakugo too; namely, tunnel vision. She‘s too caught up in her desires and motivations to think of how her actions might negatively affect the people who love her. TBF, I interpret DT17 Donald as much the same way in a different sort of way, in his desire for independence...until the Spear of Selene happened.

Donald with Jose and Panchito: A Bakugo-Kirishima-Kaminari dynamic. Donald is indisputably Bakugo in this scenario, while Jose and Panchito share a mishmash of traits from both of Bakugo’s besties. Jose and Panchito are happy, friendly, and loyal. Like Mickey and Goofy, they don’t take Donald’s bad temper at face value- they all look at Donald and see someone fundamentally good. They count themselves lucky to be his friends. I think Donald befriended Jose and Panchito later in his college career, as a junior or a senior, and that Mickey and Goofy really mellowed him out. Somewhat like Bakugo and Midoriya, Donald’s relationships with Mickey and Goofy can be...heavy. (HCs ahead: their adventures as a trio were different from the Caballeros; in length, scope, tone, and occasional situational horror. As much as they care about each other, loss, tragedy, and upheaval changed the dynamic they originally had in freshman year.) Comparatively, Donald’s relationships with Jose and Panchito come with much less baggage. Their adventures were fun and uncomplicated. The only tragedy in their dynamic comes from Donald’s end- we know for a fact that neither of the other Caballeros haven’t seen the triplets since they were eggs. Financially, they’re all on relatively even footing. Some people might make the mistake of thinking that ‘lighter’ friendships are somehow less valuable. Donald knows this isn’t the case.

Donald and Daisy: Daisy is the Yaoyorozu and Iida to Donald’s inner Jiro and Midoriya. Daisy is organised, creative, and seems to have it all together...for the most part. Like Iida, you don’t want to see Daisy angry. Donald and Daisy have the same odd couple dynamic that Jiro and Yaoyorozu have. Jiro is deeply associated with music; the Three Caballeros weee involved in the plot of Daisy’s introductory episode. Notably, Donald’s voice is one of the first things DT17 Daisy fell in love with. As smart as Midoriya is, anyone who stands next to Iida looks like a bit of a mess. But just like Midoriya, Donald has passion, heart, and a willingness to fight for people he barely knows- qualities that Iida and Daisy seem to admire.

Donald and Minnie: Bakugo and Uraraka. This one is mostly a headcanon. We don’t get a lot of Donald and Minnie interactions anywhere, aside from House of Mouse. The way I see it, DT17 Mickey and Minnie have been dating for longer than the triplets have been alive. The only reason they’re not married is because she keeps saying no (that’s what I think, anyway). Despite being Mickey’s most consistent co-star and being deeply involved in the production process, I think of Minnie as someone who fought for her success. She takes pride in that. Minnie loves Mickey. She loves being a couple. But she has goals, motivations, and values independence in the same way Donald does. This is something I hc Minnie and Donald have in common (Minnie with Mickey and her family, Donald with Mickey and his own family), and one thing they mutually recognise and respect.

Donald and Storkules: Aizawa and Present Mic, without the heaps of backstory or mutual give-and-take. Poor Storkules. He’s obviously a nice dude; Donald doesn’t care for him as nearly as much as Storkules cares about Donald. Selene and Della gel together really well, in a way that Donald and Storkules...don’t. What’s strange is that Donald and the traditional Hercules do have a lot in common, and a lot to commiserate over. Godhood puts Storkules on a pedestal beyond mortality, something Donald has no patience for. Frank said that they transferred a lot of what they were planning to give to Mickey onto Storkules, which makes me feel better about DT17 not being able to use him. (C’mon, Frank. The fun thing about Mickey and Donald isn’t that Mickey can do no wrong and wins the day while Donald is a luckless, envious butt monkey- boiling it down to just that is pure laziness. The fun comes from how Mickey will always regard Donald as his best friend if Donald is an option. In their friend group, Donald isn’t viewed as a tagalong to be tolerated, riding Mickey’s coattails; Donald is Mickey’s lancer and second-in-command). I hope Storkules befriends Jormungandr or Thor or Santa Claus. He deserves a friend who takes him seriously.

Bonus: He’s not exactly a friend, but Scrooge? He’s All Might. The kids are the rest of Class 1-A. Della and Donald are Midoriya and Bakugo- the twin pillars holding up his legacy. Surprisingly, it’s not a 1:1 thing. DT17 Donald shares traits with Bakugo and Midoriya, just like Della does.

as for the second question!! i do not! my grandmother once bought me and my older sibling some succulents for the winter holidays and we were both very mad because she didn't look up any of their info so we didn't know how to take care of them properly. we looked them up as best we could but they really weren't suited to our climate and :((( sadly they have all died now i'm still incredibly distraught by it. but!! i definitely want plants when i am like settled in my own spot. i travel so far for college that they won't make the trip and i don't trust anyone at home to keep up with them. we grew tomatoes growing up in large pots outside, and i always loved having fresh tomatoes. i'd also love to grow some herbs, especially my own basil plant!!!

Alright, so, Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 12: Castle in the Sky Laputa!

I mean, I, Guardromon...

Right off the bat, I’ll say this ep gets a ‘meh’ from me, BUT I did love its aesthetic. I’m a big fan of robot stories, especially the Asimov variety. Scrap heap robots are my absolute favs. And I did like the Ghibli vibe going on too. The episode was pretty, and the robot characters were cool... it just wasn’t very fun. At the very least, I was expecting team Taichi/Koushirou/Mimi to be a bit more fun than Yamato/Sora/Jou, but I guess this ain’t 1999 anymore ;)

^The most amusing bit was finding out Koushirou’s laptop can fold like this... which, okay, shouldn’t surprise me, it just looks frigging weird...

me: DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A KEYBOARD???

koushirou: hush old lady, your first laptop was grayscale only and had Windows 3.1 installed.

We had a promising start when last week’s episode ended on a cliffhanger... or a cliffdropper, I guess, because Mimi’s not hanging onto anything. She’s fallen down and landed on Palmon. Digimon can sure take a beating.

Palmon reaches to see if she can hoist them back up, but...

... it’s too high! Oh well, no choice but to travel on foot. Good thing Mimi landed on Palmon!

Meanwhile, above, Taichi and Koushirou turn to his computer for help. Unfortunately they have some technical difficulties.

Koushirou: Noooo, not the swirling of doom!! My immortal nemesis...

Even Taichi understands that buffering spells death. He’s a 21st century kid, so he’s a little more savvy about computers than 99 Taichi, whose trusty recourse in these situations was "treat the machine like a Bop-It.”

Mimi discovers they are in a Digimon scrap heap. ;_; Good heavens. Apparently robot Digimon are unlike organic (??) Digimon same as robots are different from humans, so the way they die is not quite the same either.

Mimi feels sorry for these trashed creatures. She’s no cold-hearted corporate goon who looks at these guys and just sees dollars. She notices the heart!

She also just wiped that rusty Guardromon’s helmet with her bare hand...

Mimi: Where’s Sora-san when I need a towel!!

Andromon makes his 2020 debut! And he’s just as much the pawn of evil as ever!

Boxing Cactus Go-go-go!!

Togemon gets her prickly hiney owned, but the Guardromon suddenly reanimates and protects her instead. His big strategy is “drop something heavy on Andromon and run away.” It’s super effective.

Who wants to translate the digicode, because I’m not gonna. Ten bucks says it’s something like “target human child exterminate” yadda yadda

When Koushirou’s computer fails, we must rely on our physical skills. Their big plan is “climb down the bottomless pit after Mimi.” There are a few things wrong with this picture:

1) Even if they know how deep the hole is, IT’S STILL QUITE A FALL. Make one wrong move and you’ll be useless to Mimi T_T And these idiots make plenty of wrong moves.

2) If there were handholds like these, why couldn’t Palmon have just grabbed them with her vines and carried Mimi up? Instead she was like, “Nah, can’t reach the top, let’s walk in a random direction and hope things work out!”

3) The Guardromon is taking Mimi to an elevator. Meaning there is a working elevator, meaning there is a way down that would significantly decrease their chances of DYING on the way. Koushirou’s computer can’t figure that out? Also I was expecting some hijinks there... like, they finally make it down only for Mimi to say “Why didn’t you just take the elevator like I did? Boys are weird.”

In his defense, Koushirou’s method of descent is worlds better than Taichi’s.

Hate to say I told you so...

Guardromon takes Mimi to some suspicious water which she uses to nurse Palmon... with a towel

Guardromon presents Sheeta Mimi with a flower to convey that he likes killing pretty delicate things :) run Mimi

The Laputa vibe... it is vibing.

We cut away to Yamato/Sora/Jou for thirty seconds just to point how much Better they’re doing than Taichi’s group. They’ve even realized how that basket was, who needs to put in all that work when we can all fit comfortably on a log! Sora and Yamato flirt. Jou’s going to be sick.

Taichi and Koushirou encounter some broken Solarmon who are being controlled by Soundbirdmon, so I guess it’s official now that we can’t believe any Digimon is truly evil if Soundbirdmon is around. Koushirou goes to help Mimi while Taichi stays behind to fend off these gears. Uh, is it just me or does this team seem very quick to split up.

I like the way Guardrmon cradles Mimi so all we can see is her shocked expression.

Guardromon tries his tried and true method of shooting down something heavy to crush Andromon...

... but Andromon’s like “hah! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!” and knocks it away. Not very effective...

Guardromon’s guarded his last mon... he starts to go... offline I guess...

In sweeps Kabuterimon to the rescue. In 99 Adventure, he’d have something witty to say, or at least a pun. 2020 Kabuterimon mostly likes to make weird noises. I understand why Agumon and Gabumon’s VA’s were calling him a “weirder uncle than ever” at Digifes...

Wow!!! Taichi finally got knocked off Greymon! He must have forgot to put on his suction cup shoes today!

So this entire episode, I was wondering what was to stop MetalGreymon from happening and stealing the show from Lillymon. I expected “Agumon just evolved recently and doesn’t have the juice to do it again so soon!” or some such. Nothing more than that. But, nah, we don’t even get that... MetalGreymon happens and he just... can’t... beat Andromon? For some reason? I’m going with “Because he’s Andromon.” Afterward, this very heavy structure falls down and MetalGreymon has lift it a la Atlas to keep Taichi from getting squished, so he can’t continue to beat on Andromon.

... Of course, Togemon gets stuck holding this thing up too... so there’s that...

The reason, of course, is so Guardromon can make one last action surge, grabbing Andromon’s leg, which works, randomly. At least for a moment.

Mimi spends most of this episode being Shocked.

Guardromon takes one final, grainy look at Mimi as he prepares for sweet death. The digicode says “Sheeta.” (kidding like I’d bother to translate it lol)

Andromon RUDELY stomps on his head. Like HELLO Andromon can you not see the dude is having a moment here? Show some respect!

Mimi sheds a Single Emo Tear

Which causes “Your sorrow made me evolve!” Lillymon. She immediately flies out to attack Andromon, leaving MetalGreymon alone holding the heavy metal structure, which promptly crushes him and our heroes. Game Over!

just kidding, the structure just vanishes I guess :/ It’s not very clear...

High kick attack!

It’s not very effective...

Lillymon does seem to have an ability that MetalGreymon doesn’t which cinches her victory over Andromon... her rain of petals interfere with his ability to lock on to a target. Too much organic matter everywhere I guess.

Lillymon covers Andromon in plants rendering him immobile...

Poor Mimi’s had a hard day of watching robots die.

Her affinity for marking graves returns as she leaves the flower Guardromon gave her on his corpse(?).

Taichi looks only sadly as Koushirou explains that Andromon and Guardromon were totes besties, until Soundbirdmon started mindcontrolling everyone. Gee that seems like something that could have been an interesting plot point had it been mentioned y’know earlier.

In sum... yeah, this ep just isn’t fun. There’s no friend moments, no getting to know each other, everything takes a backseat to this robot-protect-girl storyline. I really did like Guardromon, but the episode takes itself way too seriously in my opinion.

That aside... I was happy that Mimi’s episode didn’t involve stinky ugly Digimon falling in love and stalking her so she can passionately reject them. I can live without both of those things.

Mimi having the ability to project feelings onto supposedly nonfeeling things is a very Mimi-like character trait for her and one that I really truly love. It’ll definitely come in handy in the digital world where all is never how it seems. On the other hand, though, it’s not like it’s a trait we didn’t have already... it just belonged mainly to Hikari :P So... yeah.

Next week we’re going to get Garudamon, in a way that looks like it will pale compared to our first meeting with Garudamon in 99 Adventure, BUT that’s okay... because we’ve got plenty of time for the Big Important things to happen, both on a plot level and on a character development level. I am a little wtf??? about everyone getting not one but two evolutions within the same adventure - assuming the kids are going to go home at some point and finally put Tokyo out of its misery. I’d expected this show would be more like 02 with the kids jumping in and out, but tbh I’m not gonna be sad if they just stay in the digital world indefinitely. Also, it’s not like Taichi didn’t get both an evolution and a jogress the first time he came to the digital plane, so obviously things are just working differently in this show!

But as it’ll be a Sora episode, I just hope it’s an improvement on the last Sora episode. There’s plenty of potential following the mini tiff between her and Yamato last week, so i hope we see some follow up to that. Maybe a couple Sorato moments. We didn’t get anything for Taishiro this week :( But since it looks like probably next week the groups are still separated, perhaps the week after we’ll get MegaKabuterimon and see more interaction between Taichi and Koushirou then. *shrug* A girl can dream!

Anyway this ep gets 5.5/10 from me!

Is Tarot Sequence worth the buy? I just finished a book that left me feeling very sad and was looking up books and Tarot Sequence came up! Your blog was the first I saw talking about and wanted to know what you like about the series and the character themselves, and the relationships!

The Tarot Sequence is UTTERLY worth the buy. I’ll try to do a fair breakdown for you while also being as spoiler-free as I can. This is going to be a bit long. (If you want something a little more spoilery you can dm or message me off anon and I’d be happy to help! Also, the community isn’t all that active on tumblr, but we have a very active discord that the author pops into on occasion, and I would highly suggest you join and liveblog your read to us, we’ll love you forever)

The world: Modern day alternate Earth where Atlantis did not sink to the bottom of the sea, instead being hidden by magic until quite recently. The discovery led to a brief Human-Atlantean world war, set before the books, that destroyed Atlantis and caused Atlanteans to resettle on Nantucket, now New Atlantis, and coexist with humans. The ruling class of Atlantis is based on the Major Arcana of Tarot, or rather, our cards are based on them. This is also a society in which bi/pan are by far the most common sexualities and polyamory/group marriages are fairly common. The lack of lgbt-phobias is utterly refreshing for me.

The characters: Oh my god the characters are relatable and lovable. KD does a fantastic job of giving them depth, strengths, weaknesses, humor, and growth. Rune is our protagonist and the last of the Sun Throne, which was attacked when he was fifteen. At the start of the books he and his Companion, Brand (bestie/bodyguard/everything), are adults and basically making their little living in the world as mercenary/detectives for hire. BANTER/SWEARING GALORE. Love them so much. The books follow Rune’s reclamation of his birthright and unravel the mystery around the attack on his Court. Along the way they start to accumulate found family, which I will tell you nothing about because PLOT except that there’s HIJINKS and LOVE and you will adopt everyone on sight. 

Worldbuilding: We are in for a good ride. KD’s style of worldbuilding is not an infodump of exposition, it’s Rune chronicling his adventures and giving us information as it becomes relevant. I love watching the world unfold like this, because it means we don’t get overwhelmed with being dunked in the deep end of an intricate universe.

Relationships: So this one’s a little up in the air, actually. Rune and Brand are basically an old married couple but they’re not intimate (yet, possibly). Rune gets a boyfriend that is not Brand. Some people want Brand to be endgame. Some want boyfriend to be. Some want all three to have a balanced and loving polyamory, as is common in Atlantean society, and would be wonderful rep in my opinion (I would LOVE the ot3, but also just. I want them all happy. I ship all of them x happiness.) KD is aware of his readers’ different desires and has decided to let the characters write themselves as far as romance, which I think is beautiful. He is definitely great at writing organic relationships and good chemistry, so I trust him there.

Three important notes:

1) It’s nine books, and KD is also releasing free novellas set between each because he has so much story he wants to share. The free ebooks are pinned on his twitter. This series is WORTH the ride, but know that you are getting into one.

2) If you read the first book and feel it’s maybe kinda white and maybe kinda male, you would be right. KD listens to reader feedback and is learning and growing himself, which is wonderful. The second book has some fantastic women, POCs, a character who is learning their identity and changes to they/them after book two, an absolute treasure of a character who is coming to terms with asexuality, and the protagonist is slowly identifying as demisexual. This series is so much more than just men in love!

3) The triggers. It is important to know that when Rune’s court was destroyed, he was sexually assaulted at age fifteen and the perpetrators were not identified or caught. He has PTSD because of this. His assault is a very real part of his character limitations and is addressed very respectfully, and there is one brief graphic mention of it (so far). The process of his healing will likely confront more memories as he tries to find out why it happened and who was responsible. His abuse is in no way made light of or fetishized, which is very good, but the rape and/or the pedophilic nature of it could definitely be a trigger for some people. There are also fight scenes and thus battle wounds, though they have healing magic.

NNT Headcanons part 4 food gives me ideas

Mel and Elaine bond over their love of spicy food. And scream and run when they try to add spice to the stuff Ban is cooking and get threatened. They’re very good friends

Zel and Elizabeth are besties. While he won’t admit it, everyone knows. When he’s having a bad day she’ll just be like sitting a table and he’ll stomp his way over to her, plop himself down, then lean his head on her shoulder

Zel has trouble celebrating his bday since back in ye olden days Mel would just brush it off or straight up forget and it made him the big sad™

So they all throw him a surprise one after everything and Mel gets him two of the best gifts in the world. The biggest collection of teas he could find and an apology.

We've been on some WBC squad hc's so I'm going to throw out RBC ones. DB5963 is the happiest cell you'll ever come across and he's a natural leader for his fellow RBCs. 5100 has high respect for him even though his easy going attitude sometimes beffudles her. 3803 loves 5963 to pieces and he instantly became one of her closest friends. He's like a mentor but also treats her as an equal. He adores her sunny disposition and is good at keeping her calm when she starts to feel overwhelmed. -

2 if you didn't know any better you'd assume 3803 has a puppy crush on him. Yes even she is amazed by how adaptable he is. Though in a lot of ways he can be a little scatterbrained like 3803 can be. Despite how nice he is he can have a temper but it's very controlled (which sometimes makes him scarier). He doesn't suffer fools and will reprimand any red blood cell if they try to make fun of 3803 if she makes a mistake (which is thankfully far less likely to happen since she's much better now).-

3 He's more likely to think outside the box then most RBCs so often 3803 will go to him for advice over 5100 if she thinks her Senpai will be close minded. 5100 is the ideal RBC but as mentioned above she's not good at thinking outside what's expected of her even when it would be good (Think Cancer Cell arc). However she's never mean and is very unconditional to her true friends. 5100 is very social and us always seen in a group of RBCs. However she has more shallow friendships compared to -

3 3803 who started our more isolated but got more at time went on. 5100's closest friends are 3803 and the RBC PO (who she may or may not have a thing with). He's a older RBC who was possibly her mentor. Being so highly regarded and well liked, 5100 could have more intimate friendships but she chooses to only keep a select few close to her and is happy spending more time being professional and helping everyone be their best. She loves 3803 like a little sister and from day one always wanted-

4 to be her friend. As said, despite appearances, 5100 is very picky about her personal life. But she saw something very special in 3803 and has been w/her ever since. Even requesting to be her mentor when she graduated. She's very protective of 3803 and always dotes on her. Yet she knows 3803 is amazing and knows she will succeed no matter what. 5100 is a mama bear when it comes to guys hitting on 3803 because only the best for her little sister/pupil! Sometimes PO has to drag her away when -

5 she finds out there are some up to no good RBCs checking 3803 out and she literally and verbally slaps them until they cry. However 1146 is that enigma she's perplexed about. On one hand he makes her bestie happy. On the other hand he's totally not good enough for her as a boyfriend (what do you mean 5100 is unfairly bias and overprotective). Sometimes even 1146 flinches from her glare. He's very annoyed at himself for wanting 5100's approval. At best they're like bickering in laws w/grudging-

6 respect who agree 3803's happiness is what matters to the both. Despite appearances 4201 is actually a very social cell with her own small group of childhood friends. It's however very easy to misunderstand her since she's not always the most vocal of her inner thoughts. She's often a bad communicator outside of work so it's not easy for her to make new friends. She doesn't notice/care since she's content w/who she has. She's actually very attached to 3803 after their world ending crisis -

7 adventure. 4201 doesn't need 3803's advice on how to do her job on a technical level. However she definitely learns she needs her mentor's advice on maintaining/improving relationships and doing hard things w/a smile. 4201 is the opposite of 3803 in that she gets very clingy and insecure when she loses control of a situation. She'll often go to 3803 as a security blanket in those times and if there are emotionally exhausting days 4201 might spend the night at 3803's place and have a slumber-

8 party of sorts (the body has a night and day shift. Who knew). 3803 grows a lot as a person because of this and she feels a bit more mature by having someone as great as 4201 look up to her as a role model/older sister. 4201 will always be squeamish over immune cells brutality. But she's now far more polite about it then the average non immune cell. She makes an extra effort to ignore any stigmas about them and see them as protectors to be grateful for. Afterall if 3803 is close to them then-

9 obviously they aren't as bad as she's been told about them by others. She still finds immune cells very weird, kind of gross after they kill and they trigger some of her nervous buttons. But again she's not judging them since she wants to follow 3803's example. When all the RBCs want to chill they typically gather to horde away in one of their apartments and give massages and shares all kinds of desserts. Running around a lot it's nice to relax in a cozy indoor area together swapping stories.
