#transformers #maccadam #tailgate #ultra magnus #mtmte #lip syncing is actually a lot more fun than i expected #but tailgate's mask probably saved me like eight hours lmao #speaking of him i'm REALLY happy with how expressive he ended up being #i really didn't expect that kind of deformation to mesh well with the... uh... mesh.#so i was pleasantly surprised when it turned out as great as it did #mags' model was hard to figure out because he is SO FREAKING INCONSISTENT IN THE COMICS #but that also meant i got to cherry pick the features i liked best/that were simplest to model so... still a win #tailgate's blissfully consistent tho. his hood thing gave me a lot of trouble but i managed #this is my first time working with a lot of geometric shapes so i ran into a lot of road blocks but i did it!! yay!!

#legend of zelda #loz #twilight princess #loz tp #i'm still reeling that someone sent me an ask about this one.. that they took the time to find my tumblr and tell me they liked it #it really meant a lot; thank you to anyone that stops to leave comments like that. they make me happy #but yeah! here's the usual symbolism ramble:#i thought it'd be cool to have the 'spirits' flowing one way and the cats walking through them the other way #to kinda show the difference in life inhabiting the village in the past and present #link's face is covered because impaz was just waiting for 'the hero' so his clothes are what matters; not his face #and it (hopefully) gives a surreal and intangible sense to 'the hero' she could only hope would actually show up #you can feel free to interpret the glowy blue sheikah as ghosts or just as memories of the past! i couldn't decide either way #the one on the bottom left is oot impa since she's implied to be the village founder. so i guess she would be a ghost actually?#fan art #my art #project stuff #and ahhh the book-- everyone's stuff is so beautiful!!#especially the writing. some of the fics made me really tear up and some were so fun and clever. i really love them #a lot of them captured the sheer burden of the role of the sheikah; all of the time and grief and doubt #i know i always say this stuff about every project but. the people i get to work with in these are truly so skilled every time

He would absolutely say that but also it is weirdly sincere, he truly does believe so

He (justifiably) believes that only he has ever fully accepted Durge with everything that comes along with it! He'd say that someone else might be able to love Durge but he is the only one who could do so without wanting to change anything about him.

He truly does believe so, but because he is still Gortash he will phrase it in a manipulative way that separates Durge from any other support networks he might have, as he always did.

Saw someone say musicals were never made to be sad, never meant to be tragic and I'm ????? There has always been a very special kind of sadness in musicals. Some undefined melancholy.

sorry let me rant about downton abbey 10 years later

Thomas's conversion therapy plot pisses me off so much. firstly, it's incredibly out of character. he never wanted to change to conform to society, he wanted the world to change to accomodate him. the man who said "it's not against the law to hope is it" and "I'm not foul, Mr Carson, I'm not like you, but I'm not foul" would NEVER

secondly, from a storytelling perspective, the only 'problem' is that he used infected needles. did we forget that Thomas was a sergeant in the RAMC? he knows how to sterilise needles and how to recognise and treat infection. this also shifts the blame to Thomas himself for getting sick and implies that the conversion therapy itself is harmless (Dr Clarkson says it's just saline solution)

thirdly, it's not historically accurate. I'm not an expert but conversion therapy was not at all common in the 1920s, even Sigmund Freud was against it. hormone therapy and chemical castration were barely developing let alone available to the public (I can't imagine what else the 'treatment' was supposed to be). the only practices that I can find evidence of were psychoanalysis and electric shock therapy

Thomas also mentions that he did electric shock treatment - if you really want to make a point about homophobia in the 1920s (and make Thomas suffer as much as possible), show that instead. watching him be literally tortured for his sexuality would have been far more impactful than him just... looking sweaty for a few episodes

#I'm just shouting into the void #i just think that if you're going to make the only gay character constantly suffer it should at least be a compelling narrative #i have very similar thoughts about his plotline with jimmy. its stupid and out of character. Julian fellowes just wanted to punish him #for being gay without even giving him a chance at a happy relationship #i think sexually assaulting Jimmy is one of the only genuinely bad things that Thomas does and yet its the only one framed sympathetically #it's conflated with being gay generally and we're meant to pity him #you know what would have been a sympathetic narrative? if they were actually in a relationship and punished for an innocent love #and then thomas could still take the fall for it and go to prison and Jimmy would have to live with that guilt and be separated from him #which also would have been way more interesting than the bullshit anna and bates prison plot that dragged on way too long #ugh downton abbey could have been so good if the writer wasn't an old bigoted tory #downton abbey #thomas barrow
