Everyone's already talked about this but wow Optimus is portrayed so well!!! I love the dialogue when he describes Cybertron. Also love the pink backgrounds i some panels!! Anyway the interaction with him and Spike feels good and authentic. nice

The fight scenes. SO good to me, I think the art is super dynamic and the way the sound effects are written give great impact. The artist knew what they were doing for sure. I love how they use the comic media to its fullest. With those different shaped slanted box panels, and the smear lines when somethings moving fast idk

I also looove the shading in these comics!! and the linework like on their faces really helps the atmosphere. once again i love the sound effects (especially that big TONG) when starscream gets hit lol it just looks like all the fonts were designed or drawn by the artists yk?? and the variety of camera angles throughout is cool too.

Also love the relationship between optimus and the humans. It feels... better than how other transformers media has handled it (imo). I think its sweet

again great comic art the lighting.. the EVERYTHING idk i just admire this artist a lot (i think his name is daniel warren johnson, although it switches to Jorge Corona later) one thing i love in particular is how the lines are like... a little messy and sometimes a little all over the place-to depict their wear and grime. cool!

Next. Cant talk about skybound without talkingabout THE DECEPTICONS. oh my god. starscream is a spawn of hell. what a bitch. like actually he might be at his worst here hes so diabolical. Anyway even though hes very evil hes still enjoyable to watch because its just idk pure villain. Soundwaves care for his cassettes is sweet as usual. PUNTING Ravage is crazy. cannibalizing Skywarp is crazy. FGELP IDEK WHAT TO SAY except i like the art a lot here as usual its great very comic-y again. SOundwave stays a favorite character.

it was a normal day for our lovely yuu (im just gonna refer to mc/yuu as yuu for this fic so it isnt confusing), just relaxing at ramshackle dorm while playing some DTI. atleast thats what i wouldve said if vil fucking schoeneheit didnt join randomly and just starts slaying so hard that he always ended up on the podium.(wow he slays so much omg)then like an hour after vil joined asmo decided “fuck it! imma join my lovely little partner on roblox and start fighting in the chat (AND VC THIS PETTY BITCH) with the person who keeps on winning when i dont win!!!” AND MADE SO MUCH DRAMA!!

“bro its not that deep!! he won cuz he slayed that theme, not cuz it was rigged!” yuu yelled at vil, trying to find out how the two most fashionable (and petty) people they know are somehow still fighting after like 30 minutes. “”SHUT UP YUU!!”” asmo and vil screamed at the same time, effectively almost breaking yuu’s poor eardrums, “OH MY FUCKING GOD SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU!”. cue the whole vc starting to laugh at yuu’s sudden outburst as asmo and vil were left stunned. yuu took a deep breath and went on with the game as if nothing had happened.

wow. i have A LOT to say about this

first, lets start with the things i really liked about this finale:

red team fight scenes. simmons and grif fighting the meta was so good, especially simmons being SO BADASS. simmons stans were fed well. i always love seeing the reds and blues fighting, even if theyre not good, as opposed to freelancers fighting

caboose did a lot and i think had some solid development (as much as he could get in only an hour and 25 mins, at least) and it seems like they made him less dumb?? which is fine with me, it almost seemed like he matured. i also kinda liked seeing caboose being thrown around and beaten up cause it HURT ME SO MUCH but i love being hurt (i love caboose this isnt meant to be an insult to him). it was also just so surreal seeing caboose actually being hurt in an animation because he always managed to avoid major beatings like that before. him and tucker having a brief moment together was soul crushing and i wish we couldve had more of that

tucker being influenced by the meta has been a thing since the s13 finale and seeing it actually happen was really cool

tex being brought back was kind of a meh thing for me. i think everything tex related shouldve just been left in s10 because that season really wrapped it all up nicely. i did enjoy having her back, though, just for the sake of her as a character cuz i love her. and her and church together was so fucking cute and heartbreaking

sarge dying to save caboose was obviously fucking SADDENING but also sweet in a way cause i love caboose being the honorary red member. he loves his blue son

again, simmons being a badass was so fucking good

the grimmons scene with grif saying "come with me" was romantic as hell 😭😭😭

now, the things i DIDNT like:

really unfortunate that the movie/season was only 1 hr 25 mins. it really limited what they could do with the plot and characters, but i understand if it wasnt possible for RT to do more due to warner bros for example

churchs whole youtube video thing was kinda funny but also dragged on for too long and was the perfect example of "show dont tell" NOT being implemented

a lot of stuff felt ooc, like how the reds didnt wanna help caboose at all. the beginning with epsilon showing up was understandable with how they didnt want to get involved, but later on the ship they just leave caboose to be choked out by the meta? THAT part didnt feel like the reds at all. grif also for some reason was so fucking mad and yelling a lot? idk where all that came from? it was so random like grif chill dude 😭

wash just being stuck in a mental hospital for something we dont even find out about until the end, which in a story sense isnt inherently bad obviously and can really add to the narrative, but in this case it just felt so confusing and like it didnt make sense. why would carolina and the reds and blues just let that happen to wash? not to say that getting help with mental health is bad or anything, just what i mean is they dont seem to care that hes gone or anything and dont visit him and hes treated like hes crazy the whole time hes in the hospital

479er being alive was really awesome, but it came out of nowhere (i understand that this is also probably due to the runtime restraint)

WHERE THE HELL WERE DONUT AND LOPEZ THE WHOLE TIME???? lopez showed up once and donut was in a 5 second thought bubble from simmons? the FINAL season of rvb and they dont even have the full crew of characters fighting together one last time? nobody talked about them at all? come on guys

the beginning with the convention was just really unnecessary and boring

why does nobody seem to care that TUCKER IS MISSING WITH MAINES ARMOR?? it feels like everyone just got brainwashed to forget about all the years they spent being friends

AND SIMMONS JUST DOESNT WANNA GO TO EARTH TO VISIT? HELLO THIS IS NOT THE SAME GRIF AND SIMMONS WE'VE BEEN WITH ALL THESE YEARS. wheres that tweet saying "found family separating after the journey is bs" cause thats how i feel about that. 21 years spent building up these amazing relationships between these amazing characters just for them to seemingly not give a shit about each other?? is simmons just alone in blood gulch with tucker and caboose now?? 💀💀💀

i understand because he was the meta, tucker didnt have control, but it was still unfortunate to barely have any tucker this season

i understand that the meta was a threat to everybodys lives, but it feels like everyone was just ok with killing tucker to be able to kill the meta. it wouldve been so much better and angstier if they were having difficulties with it because thats their friend

why did one have to show up. i dont really have anything personal against her as a character or anything but i wouldve really preferred any and all things related to zero to just be wiped off the face of the planet

the music was just terrible. really unfortunate they wouldnt have trocadero return :( it felt so unnerving having this weird stock music playing whenever people were just standing and talking. throughout all of rvb, 99% of the standing talking scenes never had any music so this was so bizarre

some animated scenes looked really off, idk if it was just me

one personal gripe i have that doesnt actually really matter that much to the overall season, but it really bothered me, is that that IS NOT HOW THE BUBBLE SHIELD WORKS!!! i think technically we've never actually seen the bubble shield be entered or exited on screen so i guess you could argue that it works differently from how they work in halo? idk still bothered me

this season in general just felt like an AU?? even 15 through 17 felt more real as seasons of rvb than this did, and i HATED season 16, so thats saying something

and of course, grimmons. big congrats to RT for the longest queerbaited couple in i think tv show history. this one really pisses me off the most because just. how. theres a difference between a queer ship existing because people like it, and a queer ship existing because there was actual subtext and clues and their relationship is written so perfectly and its been around for so long that so many queer people came to really love and identify with it in spite of how shitty they were treated. idc, grimmons is canon in all of our hearts, fuck that

a great point from mod janae: the whole point of rvb, which aiden price even talks about, is that they come together as friends/family and even though they individually suck, together they can do anything, and a better ending wouldve been not to bring back tex carolina or even wash but to have gotten all the reds and blues back together to stop the meta. it was never about being the strongest but about working together

in general, i did not like the season. it had a few things i liked, but obviously the cons outweigh the pros here and so overall, i hated it. i mightve hated it even more than season 16 which is insane because ill fight tooth and nail for why season 16 is such a catastrophe. really disappointing that this is how rvb ends. i wouldve much preferred a cheesy "friendship defeats the bad guy and saves the day" ending because that IS what rvb is to a degree. anyways i understand how GOT fans feel now

A Needlessly Long Ramble About Pony Poses!!!

I was talking to my bf today and i had some thoughts on poses! Specifically we were talking about the celestial ponies! Because I know some people really dislike the Tootsie pose

(Here is the pose in question- with images of the original pose and one of the celestial ponies using it. From toysisters and the amazon listing)

Personally (please no one take offense to this paragraph , just my own thoughts ^^” ) I never understood the hate for this pose, the ponies look cute! All ponies are cute to me, i really dont think there are any specific poses they could stand in that would make them Uncute or take away from their design. I think people dislike the way their head is tilted forwards and how the neck looks? (Again, I think the head tilt is cute ^^) one of the issues I saw a few people talking about with the celestial ponies in particular is that they don’t like that their heads can turn when the original pose isnt really made for that and the neck looks uneven, but to me thats not really an issue at all since you wont notice unless someone points it out or youre staring too much at the neck, and if you dislike it you can just not turn the heads lol.

But yeah, poses sure are interesting huh? there are a lot of pony poses, I really like the variety as it makes each pony feel unique (even if i end up collecting a million of the same pose lol). While I don’t dislike any poses I DEFINITELY have some that I ADORE!

THE UNICORN AND PEGASUS POSES FOR THE BABY BEDDY BYE EYE PONIES ARE SO FUCKING CUTE especially the unicorn one which is my ultimate fave bbe pose (i will defend bbe until i DIE) The shy little way their heads are positioned make the unicorns adorable, and the pegasus pose is also really cute

Surprise pose! (pulls out pre restoration photo because i dont have any good ones of her clean showing off the pose, her hair is always in the way lol). Her head is tilted at such an interesting angle compared to other mlp poses, her whole body leans into that tilt but she doesnt have any balancing issues or nothing!

I adore all the newborn poses but i LOVE the ones where theyre just STANDING THERE (like my noodles or doodles) And i also fucking adore the newborn dibbles pose holy shit. they are so little they just stand their with their heads down like little creechures (dibbles and nibbles pic from toysisters)

out of your character’s motifs, what are your favorite and least favorite to draw?

HMM really good question id say a lot of like. my favoritism comes down to "whats easiest to represent without having to give it too much thought?" in which case. sun motif numero uno. stuff like ulises' grids and olzhas' harlequin print are also just very easy to draw over and over again because theyre just simple geometric tessellations and i usually get into a rhythm with them especially if its in the case of background details or embellishments in lineart when i dont have to worry too much about keeping outlines clean looking....

special mention to my friend demeter also because i think i was very smart for like. mixing the circular sweeps of starry night into cigarette smoke i think it does a lot for their design and helps that aspect of their motif feel way more expansive than just "ah its meteors". another really easy repetitive pattern that my hands can easily fall into as well.... its fun

for the least favorite though hmmmm. ok honestly not even that i despise drawing it i think its cute and im glad its cemented into my mind as The Isel Bird but isel's bobolink motif is a nightmare to incorporate into like. different outfits solely because theres barely any pictures of what the back of these guys looks like. i always have to trawl through youtube videos of someones backyard to figure out the gold and white distributions. absolute fucking nightmare the things i do for this guy. at least he looks cool for it.

ANYWAY. back to the question. uhhh for similar reasons its a bit annoying drawing mazin's moth motif in pictures because its a pain in the ass to find good angles or "poses" of bugs. i usually just wing it (heh) until it looks right and it ends up fine though so eh.

hmmm marjolaine's dna motif is also a bit too niche retrospectively imo though its not really a problem? its mostly just that i want to look into more like. specific dna iconography and how i could draw it in a cool way aside from just repeating helix patterns

2. How similar is your s/i to you? Are they a carbon copy, completely different or a mix of the two?

Hmm, a bit of a mix, really! But also I do like to try and include my little quirks/idiosyncrasies where i can for my s/is because theyre very much a way that i express myself and explore things that aren't necessarily feasible for me irl . I think the main difference is my s/is are slightly less depressed. though that may be more due to circumstance and stuff. also significantly less time spent laying in bed due to pain/fatigue. but other than that (and the obvious physical differences) I try to keep the personality and vibes pretty similar to myself in real life where i can :3

4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?

To begin with, my s/i was definitely very ... not exactly intimidated by, but sort of .. anxious around Diavolo. Due to the nature of their relationship and the arranged aspects of it, he felt a lot of pressure to get along well with Dia and be like the 'perfect' spouse, since this marriage had so much riding on it (peace between celestial realm and devildom , blah blah blah, whatever) so at first hes very quiet and anxious and just afraid to speak up or make himself a nuisance in any way, so he'd always just smile and nod along to Diavolo's suggestions and jokes and sort of 'dull down' any gruesome answers to the questions he was posed about the celestial realm (though this is also in part due to the fact that things up there are very much Not As They Seem and the angels are uhh 'strongly encouraged' not to disclose too much information)

As time goes by and he gets more comfortable, however, he lets his weirdness really shine, along with his dark sense of humour. He and Diavolo wind up going through a lot together and sort of bond over that, along with their weirdly parallel upbringings, so they become really close and painfully in love. Like. 'will only use pet names for one another and always be holding hands' levels of PDA. It's obnoxious and codependent. Diavolo absolutely dotes on Ro, and Ro definitely comes to rely on him more and more as like.. 'his person.' He becomes more comfortable with unmasking and asking Dia for help with things (and if Dia can't, then he'll ask Barbs to). Theyre like two bonded cats. if you separate them they'll get depressed and start pining and become physically ill after too long. It may be a little unhealthy but like. theyre just hanging out. they like it that way. they can spend time away from each other, they just don't often really want to. They vibe like the most stereotypical 'straight guys who do really gay stuff for the bit' but they committed fully and are so so in love. theyve been around each other so much that they basically have their own language, etc. and are just so comfy and happy around one another that its obnoxious to look at i think <3 ro loves his big silly himbo to bits and vice versa

6. Has your s/i undergone any design/story changes since they were first made?

Hmm, I'd have to say absolutely yes, but genuinely I can't think of exactly what off the top of my head. He's kind of been adjusted a bit as i've fleshed out the ~vibes~ of the way i interpret the celestial realm, he got given haunted angel cryptid lore and lack of 'flock' attraction lore (theyre intertwined also) and put through The Horrors also. he also has his own more fucked up au with even more Horrors. just like for the funny. Visually though, his design has mostly stayed the same. I'm not really a huge fan of how his outfit vibes, but i think overall i do like his Vibe and hes very silly and parallels nicely with Dia!

Though looking at the pics below i havent entirely decided how i like to draw his hair. which is like blaaahhh bleeeh bluueeueueuh

historical or futuristic

FUTURISTIC 100%. historical shit can be…very boring to me, usually cuz its all very repetitive? And to me its usually way too grounded in established reality and focuses a ton on aesthetic. like history is pretty much done, but the future is absolutely unwritten and unknown to for me its more interesting to speculate abt (pushes my ww1 horror story and 1200s zombie apocalypse story under the bed)

2. the opening chapter or closing chapter

opening, cuz its easier and more exciting to figure out while the closing chapter tends to beeee hard to figure out and kinda sad for me? cuz its over dfvfv like its the END. and u gotta figure out a satisfying wrap up for all these characters and plotlines and all that, which is a monumental task in and of itself (to me) EVEN THOUGH. i agree, working backwards can often hepl tremendously in working out how everything goes (i say this cuz i actually know the ending of my wip Typhoon Landing, so its easier to map out in a way)

3. light & fluffy or dark & gritty

dark and gritty ig? although it can be overdone in a way, where theres next to no levity and people bask in its grittiness. light and fluffy however can be boring and bleh, i'll take dark and gritty over that any day

4. animal companion or found family

found family for sure. i rarely have signifigant animal companions in my story cuz…well, theyre pets. the only one i can think of rn is EFJ, Dez's eventual cat who can TALK, but even then she doesn't get much attention story wise. she's just someone Dez can talk to and take care of v-v but yeh all my stories tend to have a semblance of found family huehue

5. horror or romance

HORRORRRRR cuz i don't have the patience for romance ig lol. i also don't really care for it :p way less interesting to me than horror

6. hard or soft magic system

it depends? i prefer hard magic typically but in the case of certain settings like Discworld, the soft magic system is extremely interesting and feels natural to the world and stories! but for stories like FMA, the hard 'magic' system being built around chemistry and math is like WHHOOAA and its super cool and neat to me. so…either is fine!! if i find it interesting and that it fits in the world it resides in

Concept that will never ever happen but man, 3d renders for a petsite with dress-up ala neopets or flight rising would be a great like, time-saving strategy. Like it is mindboggling the amount of effort that goes into a single item in FR... but 3d would make the possibility of fully dress-upable pet sites way more viable (i mean. Im sure theres more but I can only think of those two. And thats fair! Flight rising is petsites georg in terms of, whatd you call it, production level)

Like, instead of redrawing a hat 30 times, model it once, and then slap it on with minor adjustments for them all, and theoretically once you have a system of what fits what, adding on another beastie wont keep exponentially increasing the work of adding new clothes.

Then, render the creature and the clothes as spearate images, and have the site layer them as appropriate and compress into a final single image. That would mean no shadows and stuff, but thats already something you cant really do in 2d, but it would be a lot more noticeable.

Also wayyyy wayyy easier to do multiple poses.

That's also making me imagine the possibility of animated petsites... prerendered probably but man, imagine like, pokemon amie but on your computer or phone with your lil dressupable creatures. As much as I hold petsites dear to my heart, I do think they're on their last limb simply because most people don't go on their computer to goof around. Like technically you can play FR on your phone but its just not the same. (Side note but um. Anybody want a nature/water sprite? I feel a lil bad theyre rotting on my account considering they must be pretty rare at this point)

The idea of a petsite as an app causes me some form of revulsion, but I'm not sure why. If anything thats what I always wanted as a kid, but most games like that are... well. Shit. But I'm also not 12 anymore so maybe 'mobile games where you have some dudes to take care of' has expanded as a genre.

But in theory it would be cool. In general I think petsites came up with a lot of fun ways to interact digitally that arent anywhere else, that would make some unique videogames.

Also same with those dragon breeding mobile games that you really shouldnt play but are a guilty pleasure of mine... I'd love to make a whole game based around completing a compendium of dragons by collecting different ones and combining them.

As much as I hate to say it though they fundamentally revolve around waiting a lot of time between attempts, that I cant think of a way to keep the excitement of getting something different without being the shitty mobile game style ohhh you can wait 4 hours... orrr pay usss... like, just removing the paying would just make the game annoying.

they are genuinely fun if you have no money and are resistant to addiction... which is sad, I wish I could translate the gameplay loop in an equally fun but non-exploitative way.

But i guess animal crossing does real time stuff and people love it, but it also doesnt seem the sort of idea to make a good chill out game... the only way i can think of is to just make it so on average by the time you come back from playing the 'find more dargons' part of the game, that your combinings should be ready. But making that into a factory sort of advancement would be... kinda fucked up lmao.

You obviously want to make the dragons feel like pets or companions and not breeding stock. But also the angle of 'you are a dragon conservationist and you must convince as many dragons as possible to Fuck' sounds kinda funny... like how in FR obliterating dragons for money is well-rationaled as sending them off to serve their deity, but in reverse.

1 - you're a very sweet and kind person when others treat you accordingly (a lot like how moose aren't afraid of humans as long as said humans don't pose a threat).

2 - to some, you may not seem like a threat (people seriously underestimate how fucking huge moose are. like deadass. theyre fucking HUGE).

i do not remember (or, i guess, know) much about final fantasy exceptt watching my dad play ff13 because he wanted to show me how cool it looks anyways i wnated to ask you about. the little cactus people. if they are people? their faces always look like :0 how do you feel about them i think theyre neat (and i hope they arent actually really annoying in gameplay or something) your posts about final fantasy reminded me how nice it was to watch my dad play that game and have no idea what the hell was going on but he was having fun which is the important part

theyre funny little low level enemies out in Thanalan so i dont think people think about them much anymore but theyre super cute I think. they're also the mascot for the game and universe's Casino, the Gold Saucer, and theyre called the Sabotenders

there's also another version of them on another planet in this game called the Gigantender, and one of them is fucking. spicy hot red because it's a special kill mark, and their head has SMALLER CACTUAR shapes on it. this is the maliktender and me and my bestie love this big ol bitch that when he met up with me and moosh and spotted it in the distance we both RAN to it

theres also a cute questline to get the cactuary minion where you have to find a zombie's three cactuar friends and my favorite bit about it is you find a cactuar friend of his bathin in a hot spring under a waterfall. its just super cute

you also learn my favorite blue mage spell 1000 NEEDLES from a cactuar too. idk why this is my favorite blue mage spell and its not really an interesting fact but i love sharing it :]

Danny and Tucker grew up together, theyre absolutely both StarWars nerds and have seen the movies like a bajillion times, most of which were watched together under a blanket fort. 

Sam, who moved to town in like sixth/seventh grade, sat with the boys at lunch and quickly became their friend, though she tended to stay out of a lot of the pop culture-y stuff, opting for small horror series. 

When they’re in highschool, they’re at lunch and they start talking about fucking. Revenge of the Sith because it came out in 05, and Sam, with her weird thing against anything popular expresses her disdain for the series. Idk how many of yall are StarWars fans but everyone (especially fans) is always so shocked and like. weirdly offended when you say you’ve never seen them. 

Anyway, for some reason this is completely unacceptable, and since Tucker’s parents won’t let a girl sleep over at his place, he brings his dvd set to Danny’s. Danny’s parents are out testing weapons in the countryside for the weekend, so Tucker can set up a impromptu sound system in the living room and all that. Plus it’s the end of summer so one last big sleepover party before highschool starts is kinda necessary. 

Of course, because it’s Fenton tech, as Tucker tries to attach a. whatever i have no clue how those work to the dvd player, it straight up explodes, or gets messed up because ectoplasm. It’s already past dark, which means Tucker’s parents are sleeping so they can’t borrow his. Sam is like ‘it was gonna be boring anyway. i mean, cmon, we have /real/ science right here, we don’t need science fiction.’ And Danny’s like ‘I guess we could dig around in the garage and see if we can blow something up?’ because hes 14 and blowing things up is rad. And Tucker goes ‘well hey, ectoplasm dude, that was actually pretty cool, yknow, if it hadn’t fried the dvd player. maybe we can put some in Dash’s mailbox and watch it explode haha’ and ofc Dannys like ‘Tuuucker thats illegal ;)) ;)))) we cant do that ;) ;) ;)’ and Tuckers like ‘riiiiiiight ;) what was i thinking ;)) ;)))’ And then they spend like twenty minutes convincing Sam its about justice and whatever so she agrees and they all head down to the lab. 

So obviously this lab is freakin sick, Tucker’s seen it all before, and he’s much more interested in coding v constructing things themselves, plus, ghosts aren’t even real why would he waste his time. it is a nice shtick and all though. but Sam hasn’t been down in the lab since the portal got completed, and even then she hasnt been in the lab a ton because Danny hates all the ghost stuff. so shes like ‘dude this is so sick wtf lets hang out here’ and danny is like ‘naw fuck this i hate this place my parents have a mental health amusment park spinner thing it sucks.’ and sam is like ‘ok but we at least have to take some pictures because this place has major cybergoth aesthetics’ and tucker’s like ‘ooh yeah (something something) myspace’ becasue early 2000s.

And dannys like ‘ok fine’ so they do a bunch of pics of them just fucking around, sam poses on a lab table and tucker pretends to drink from the beakers behind her its all horribly against lab safety like these guys would get kicked right the fuck out of any normal lab. and sams like omg you have a jumpsuit like your parents and dannys like ‘please i am not putting that on’ and sams like 

and then like a choose your own adventure game the option: WHO WEARS THE JUMPSUIT? pops up and you get to choose which teenager to kill.
