Mac and cheese recipe from me because why not (i like to cook and i made this so im egotistic)

On a stove, add a thing of macaroni and boil it in a pot. How long? Until it's cooked idk (do this while making cheese sauce

Get another pot. Probably something big enough to hold the mac and cheese so you can place the macaroni where you're gonna make the sauce.

Grab flour, butter, milk, cheese (mix of cheddar any anything else or not. If its pregrated, you can wash it to remove the starch on it but you can skip this, i dont think ot makes a difference.)

1. Melt a half cup of butter (8tbs) on medium. Not high, medium.

2. Put the same amount of flour in and mix it all up until it mixes and becomes like mash potatoes if they looked weird

3. Turn down hest to medium low. Do not let this go to high. Medium low. Make it hot but no boiling. If you mess this up you might burn it.

4. Add a bit of milk (like a a few tablespoons )and mix until there's no liquid and the flour butter parts are more liquidy than before

5. Repeat step 4 but add only a bit of milk each time. Remember don't add a lot all at once. Little by little. DONT add more milk until the previous milk is already mixed in. (If you want an exact amount, I think 3 cups but maybe a bit more or less but do less if you aren't sure. Like 2.5 cups)

6. If its all mixed and looks very much more liquidy, you can add more milk every time until you get like a thick soup. If you aren't sure, add less milk. it should not be too thick, it should still be a free flowing liquid. Always make it thick instead of thin if you don't know. Like Adam ragusea said, you can add water, you can't take it away.

7. Add cheese. How much cheese? You decide. Don't add alot all at once. Add like half a handful and keep going until it looks good. Remember that the sauce should still be a bit liquidy. It's a cheese sauce, not a cheese dip. If you don't know, just add half a handful and a bit more. You can add some later. Sauces are always more liquidy when hot so cooling it down thickens it. (Quarter of half a cup of packed cheese but I never pack it down so don't trust me. It's your food I'm just here for a guide)

8. Mix it all until cheese melts. Once you have a sorta thick sauce.

9. Add seasoning. Salt and pepper is a must. Maybe like a tablespoon of salt and 2 tsp of pepper. Remember if you don't know, add slowly and add less. You can always season at the end. Don't rush it. I add garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and paprika. Chili powder and paprika and garlic powder and flavor. Don't skip those if you want enhanced max and cheese. you can always add at the end, don't tush

10. hey your pasta done? Strain it and add it to the cheese sauce. cool it down, come back in 15 minutes and taste. Grab a a bit and put it on a plate. If you don't like it, add some seasoning to the plate. If you like the seasoning, add to pot. If not, don't. Try out small portions to get taste right.

You got mac and cheese! Better than store bought, and more cost effective and delicious!

My favorite crazy easy and modifiable leek and potato soup recipe:

Ingredients 4 tbsp butter 3 leeks 1 onion 5-6 potatoes (use your heart) ~4cp broth - chicken or veg 1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk if that's too rich) salt and pepper to taste

Optional ~2-4 cups shredded cheese of your choice (sharp cheddar is good!) 1 bunch kale

Instructions

Thin slice your leeks and onion. To prepare your leeks, slice off the root ends and the leaves where they transition from light to dark green. Discard or keep for making stock later. This should leave you with just the white and light green stalk. NOTE: YOU MUST WASH YOUR LEEKS. Leeks are dirty, dirty veggies and the soil is often embedded between the layers of the leek. I like to put my sliced leeks in a colander or sieve and rinse them real good. Grit in soup is no fun :(

2. In a large pot (at least 6 qt) melt the 4 tbsp butter over medium low heat. Note: We're going to be using a potato masher and/or immersion blender in the pot later, so I tend to recommend stainless steel or ceramic rather than nonstick, but (again) it all depends on your tools.

3. When the butter has fully melted, add your sliced leeks and onions. Add some salt and pepper. Saute until they are limp and beginning to brown. Give 'em a good stir at first to coat them with butter and then let them sit for a while, stirring occasionally. You may need to add some additional fat (butter or olive oil) if they start to stick to the bottom of the pot. This process will take a while. Be sure to keep the pot on medium LOW heat. You want to brown your leeks and onions, not burn them, which means low and slow.

4. While the leeks and onions cook, wash and thinly slice your potatoes. I don't peel them because I really like the texture and flavor the skin adds to the soup, but do whatever works for you! And when I say thinly slice I mean THIN. 1/4 to 1/8 inch. It's OK if some slices are a bit thicker, but try to keep them pretty uniform. This is so you don't have to wait FOREVER for your potatoes to cook through. Alternatively, if you prefer chunkier soups and don't mind waiting, you can keep them thicker. Again, this is a forgiving recipe.

5. potatoes and just enough broth to cover them. Add some salt and pepper. Generally, 4 cups of broth is about right. You want to just barely cover the potatoes.

6. Bring the pot to a boil then turn down and let simmer until the potatoes are tender. How long will this take? Depends on how thinly you sliced the potatoes. For really thin sliced, 10-15 minutes will get you done. Thicker slices take longer.

7. Once potatoes are tender use a potato masher to break up the potatoes until they are the desired consistency. You want a chunky soup? Less mashing. Smooth soup? More mashing. Silky smooth soup? Immersion blender, baby!

8. Add your cream or milk while stirring. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes while stirring constantly. Remove from heat and season to taste. Don't burn your cream!

9. OPTIONAL: Add washed/shredded kale and stir until kale has wilted. After kale has wilted, add shredded cheese to taste and stir until it has melted. You shouldn't need to have the pot on a live burner while you do this step. The residual heat should get you there. If not, put the soup back on a LOW burner. The key is that you don't want to overcook your kale or it'll end up making the soup bitter. You can also, if you prefer, pre-cook the kale and add it at the end. Again, up to you.

And that's it! It really doesn't take too long and it makes a TON of soup for not a lot of money, so it's also really economical!

Introducing: The Life Series Comment-a-thon

In light of several of the content creators involved mentioning negative comments on Wild Life, Secret Life, and Life Series videos in general, I want to suggest an event that encourages people to leave positive comments on life series videos as well!

The life series has some of the kindest and most supportive people I have ever encountered in fandom, and I think the creative minds behind the series deserve to get some of that love too. There is no starting or finishing day to this event, as the intention is for fans to leave kind comments highlighting what they love about Wild Life and the Life Series in general, over the course of the current season. I have devised a total of eight weekly comment prompts, making an educated guess as to how long the season will be based off previous season, intended to encourage you to leave a comment on at least one video per week.

There is no time limit or minimum word count for comments. Just be kind, be honest, and don’t tear other creators down in the process of trying to build others up (“[X creator] is so overrated, people should be watching you instead”, “you deserved to win so much more than [Y creator]”, etc.). Without further ado, The Life Series Comment-a-thon:

Week 1: comment on at least one video telling the creator that you liked the video!

Week 2: pick a team/alliance, then tell at least one person in that alliance that you are really enjoying the dynamic of their team/them collaborating with the other member(s) of the team.

Week 3: tell a new member or one who skipped one or more seasons (Gem who joined last season, Ren, Mumbo, Lizzie, Skizz, and Bdubs who all either missed or did not originally post their POVs of a season) that you are happy they are on the life series.

Week 4: Most of the creators involved in the life series are male, but we know that those who are not get a larger share of the negative comments. This week pick one of them (Lizzie, Pearl, Gem, and Cleo) and tell them that you enjoy their video/their content/etc!

Week 5: leave a comment on someone’s video mentioning at least one specific thing you enjoyed about their episode/their season.

Week 6: pick a person whose videos you have not yet commented on in this event and leave them a comment saying you look forward to their episodes every week/season.

Week 7: write a short, positive comment (e.g “I loved this episode” , “this was great” , “keep up the good work”) and leave it on every POV you watch this week.

Week 8: leave a comment on someone’s video mentioning at least three specific thing you enjoyed about their episode/their season. Alternatively pick three videos to leave one specific compliment on.

Week 9+: repeat one of the previous week prompts, or better yet combine two or more! You can pick yourself, use an eight-sided die, or a random number generator to decide for you.

I know commenting can be scary and that it can be hard to find the words. At the end of the post, beneath the the read-more cut, I have a list of suggestions for what you can bring up in a comment. Just below this you will also find a list of things you can do to let the content creators know that you love their art that are not commenting!

Other things you can do:

Like ten comments on a lifer’s video

Like every video you watch

Watch a video from one of the less popular content creators (subscriber wise, or within the fandom) on the day it comes out

And most importantly:

Reblog this post and/or repost it to other social media platforms to spread the word of the comment-a-thon!

A list of questions to spark comment ideas:

Did a joke make you laugh?

Did you catch them making a reference to another season, SMP, or piece of media?

Did the creator interact with someone in a way you enjoyed?

What made the interaction stand out?

Did they build something you thought was pretty?

What part did you like best: the shape, the blocks they chose to use, how it ties into their season, or how it ties into the terrain around it?

If they have a new skin, what is your favourite part of it?

Did they use background music in a way you thought was especially fitting? In what way?

Did a change from one scene to the next feel very well-timed, smooth, or narratively fitting?

1. You always research about a topic before talking about it! I think this is very cool because a lot of people spread misinformation without even knowing it and that’s why fake fun facts exist. You are not like that though! You feel a sense of responsibility and thirst for knowledge, which in itself makes you a reliable person. - and source! -

2. You protect those who cannot stand up for themselves and I think that is very cool! Usually, you might have a hard time standing up for yourself but if it’s someone more vulnerable than you then you will give your all. You will raise your voice, yell, make valid arguments and even fight if necessary. - This differs person to person but the imaginary I am getting is protecting children, animals, women and young teens (from creeps to be exact) -

3. You work on yourself and enter new beginnings even if it’s scary at times, it can be hard and scary but that doesn’t make you back off from actually trying your best to become someone that you can be proud of. There is always a sense of hope within you that is very admirable.

4. You know how to keep privacy! A lot of people don’t, and don’t value it as much as they should. Having a healthy boundary with privacy is a privilege not many realise they have.. also, if you happen to share an intimate moment with someone you don’t run your mouth but rather treasure it as a memory as a form of respect.

5. Some people in this pile have temper issues, obviously, don’t take it if that doesn’t apply to you but I am seeing that for those of you who can resonate with that you are doing a really good job keeping it under control. You are not a hot headed person.
