Apparently Americans don't get told about The Blitz in their history classes, which is wild to me. I can understand having it in less detail obviously, but not even mentioned? Insane. I need to know more.

I'll leave some basic info about The Blitz underneath the cut just in case you're curious ig

The Blitz was, put simply, a very aggressive bombing campaign sent out against Britain that lasted just over 8 months. During the campaign, the Germans specifically targeted civilians in large cities, most famously London (although they also attacked a lot of other UK cities, including in Wales and Scotland).

The attacks were very frequent to the point that we still find bombs that failed to detonate to this day.

The German air force (Luftwaffe) was against the Royal Air Force (RAF), and the RAF was notably smaller in comparison-- the thing that made the RAF so lethal was its superior radar technology, better planes, and more focused strategy. Britain also had a LOT of support from its commonwealth and volunteers from other countries, including Canada, India, Poland, Australia, and many more (America included).

Since the attacks were being sent out on civilians, there was widespread fear, and a lot of children had already been separated from their families and evacuated to the countryside.

Through all of this, possibly the most notable and commendable part of The Blitz was the spirit of the British population themselves. Not to sound biased. British people continued to push their good humour upon the situation and were determined to continue living their lives as normally as possible, with entertainment and work still being open despite the very obvious carnage around them. A little fact I recently learnt was that the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster also originated from The Blitz as propaganda to boost morale.

As my own personal anecdote, my great grandmother gave birth while the hospital she was in was being bombed (she was fine). This is to say that while images of The Blitz as a symbol of determination and resilience are true, in a lot of cases, there was also still a lot of terror, unrest, crime, and insufficient shelter that caused a lot of death. They just didn't want Germans or other British civilians to see that morale might be decreasing, as it would put pressure on them to surrender.

This all occurred before America formally joined the war effort. In short: when British people get pissed off with Americans for saying that "if it wasn't for us, you'd all be speaking German", this is why.

as for the wedding and events proceeding, i think its go well! they deserve a little break from the stuff in their life, as a treat /q. in general relationship stuff timmy may be the more forward one but i think jimmy would be the one to establish the milestones, plus that hes more traditional in my characterization of him. that being said, timmy would totally unintentionally propose or joke about marrying him and jimmy would 100% take him up on that with no hesitation.

the flowers i chose are forget-me-nots and pink / peachy orange aster flowers with a touch of roses in those same colors as well. i implore you to look up the flower meanings i had fun w em <3

I chose the color peach/a coral (is that what that color is ??) for the wedding because its a combo of timmy's pink and jimmy's redish orange (vermillion ?). i just think combining their colors when it comes to ships is just so so CUTE <3<3<3. this is also why that jimmytimmy painting i did a while back has primarily those colors <3. it didn't fit the theme but timmy wanted them so he gets a green, hot magenta pink, and purple flowers for his suit so his only family that loves him can be there.

this is uhh kinda angst implied but it wouldn't be something i made without a bit of angst <3. timmy's biological family would not be there, his mother would probably call once she heard that he got married but timmy decided to abandon that life and those people for good, and for the better tbh. the rest of the nicktoons unite crew would be there + maybe their plus one ig, but dib instead of zim, or maybe them both (zim wants to look normal so attends these events where its expected u show up yk, and dib follows bc clearly. hehe). cindy would probably arrive and agree to being a bridesmaid to show she isnt homophobic but would probably cry and/or drink in a corner the whole time </3, losing both of her boyfriend prospects at once /j

hi!! im so glad you’re liking my au!! and you’d be correct about the manfred pushing law onto him blablabla ‘maybe if i just do what he wants he’ll stop being a pos to me and fran’ blablabla. (in a way, it did work. but at what cost). as a result, he became a prosecutor (and boy, can you imagine how miles felt about that when he found out. poor guy was reeling, especially after watching a recording of phoenix’s debut trial (state v. fawles) and what happened in said trial)

also, about the music thing, i figured manfred would allow phoenix to play music/use the music room in the von karma estate, but not to play in front of people for some reason (he is a caged songbird, confines covered by a cloth, hidden from the world, only existing to sing for the glee of its captor). and manfred would use his instruments (particularly his violin, that had been gifted to him by (redacted redacted spoilers spoilers LMAO)) as leverage, threatening to destroy/take away his one source of joy/connection to his old life (when phoenix would screw up, he’d burn some of his sheet music or lock the room for days. and yes, this form of punishment onto him continues into his adult life :>)

and yea! fran is in a constant state of “JUST WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM ME” with phoenix and manfred and it causes alot of weird dissonance in her personality- like shes whip crazy and perfection obsessed one second, then shes cracking a pun in court so cosmically stupid that there was no way she’d came up with it herself

about kristoph! i figured since the von karmas and the gavins are both german, and both families are in the law field (altho kris becomes a defense attorney, i figure since klav became a prosecutor, their family likely is just made up of people in law), what if those two met wayy earlier, in whatever rich kid private academy mvk and the gavin parents sent them to? in every universe, kristoph gavin is unexplainably pulled to, like a butterfly to a forest fire, the enigma that is phoenix wright, so what if they were put into the same playing field earlier?

anyway im sorry for rambling, i really wish i could work on this au more and actually write a fic (or multiple) of it, but my exam for my,, i think the equivalent to it is a gcse, im not sure— my that exam is around the corner and ill be really busy until like, february next year. but i wont be abandoning this au! Phoenix and Franziska as siblings is an interesting dynamic I need to seeeee

GOD you do not know how much i think of these two as siblings, thank you for being my excuse to talk about them!!

i think if phoenix were frans brother instead of edgeworth, he’d be alot more doting of her- look at how he is with his daughter, afterall. he moves into the von karma household when hes like 9 and she’s 2 years old. she was a Baby. a Baby who can talk in full sentences for some reason, but a baby nonetheless.

and he is So doting and caring, raising her in contrast to how von karma was raising her. we see that despite how franziska von karma she is even as a child in the anime, she is sweet and worried about miles’ wellbeing, so ive no doubt itd extend to phoenix if he and miles swapped places.

except, obviously mvk has some issues with whimsy and joy because, well he’s von karma. so he likely doesnt approve and actively berates phoenix for caring for fran, saying its weakness and she’ll grow up to be useless and a dishonour blabla. it gets fran in trouble too though, so i think as time goes on phoenix would start to act less openly affectionate and more cold, but still caring, despite showing it in his own,, convoluted way. as time goes on too, i think the constant beratement from mvk, the pressure of the von karma name and other things i cant say here lest it be spoilers to my own au starts to wear at phoenix’s wellbeing, and it takes a toll on his relationship with franziska as fran tries in all her eight year old might to bring back the boy who’d always smile at her.

anyway i think unlike how miles and fran are like a prince and princess and mvk is the king, i think phoenix and fran would have a princess and her first knight kind of relationship, to put their dynamic simply

ok. elephant in the room or shit i thought about a while ago but didnt post, my going theory on the rise cancellation which idk if its a theory more-so as reading the room and putting the pieces together.

it seems like playmates fault to me on account of the toys being shit and then cancelled outright. like waves of toys ready to go in 2019, none saw the light of day.

obvs a lot of them were shit, not the point. the point being theres up to 6 waves of toys on the table at 2019 toy fair, only 1 and 2 were made. compare to the last toyfair showing the mutant mayhem toys.

playmates made both of these era of toys. do you see how much more effort went into one than the other. you can say movies are more popular blah blah blah. but playmates has made ALL tmnt toys since they ever existed, and comparing the rise toys to even the previous shows toys it seems obvious where they put the money.

anyway my theory here is playmates got told (or given or offered or whatever) mutant mayhem. they immediately went. oh. yeah this will make us money. lets start prepping moulds for this now, lets get ready to sell a shit ton of different stuff. and they just left all those rise things on the cutting room floor. they didnt tell anyone on the team they were gonna do that. they didnt say "yeah it doesnt matter what you do cuz we have this NEW thing coming" they just abandoned it. they pretended theyd give it a chance to come back if their movie went well just to appease them and us, cuz they saw more money elsewhere.

the dumb shit about that is like imagine saying that about like. batman or the avengers or something. yeah we wont make this cartoon anymore cuz we have a theatrical movie coming in 3 years. like. you can have more than one iteration YOU DID IT WITH 12.

87 was good, then there were the 90s movies that got popular enough that the show needed to be closer in style to.

03 was good, then it got dark, told to be more fun (cuz kids like ben 10 now) so they made fast forward, which was also good but in its own way, but then tmnt 2007 came out and playmates literally said "nope nope, we want to save on moulds so change your show to look like this movie" then 07 didnt go well cuz warner bros didnt fucking market it (what i heard from a podcast w nolan north was that they were super preoccupied marketing the shit out of 300 at the time. which. ok very weird choice for kids toys)

then we have 2012 after nick buys the franchise. and 12 has the weird tonal dissonance of dark stuff and kid stuff, with the most "designed to be toys" characters in it, clearly messing w things in the show itself while it was going.

then bayverse comes out along side it and once its over we get rise, where the designs clearly take inspiration from that movie (donnie and raph specifically)

then mutant mayhem is announced and rise just. fades out of existence. planned seasons cut and cancelled. planned toys disappear.

anyway. none of those shows are bad. none of the movies that come out along side them are bad. its just the dumbassery of like. not being allowed more than one iteration at a time, and its nOT on account of popularity or brand synchronizing like youd think, its literally to not have to make as many DIFFERENT SHAPED hunks of plastic! its fucking stupid. rise's downfall seems to be POOR FUCKING PLANNING on playmates part for THEIR shitty toys and then also being cheap/unwilling to have TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF TOYS AT ONCE (proof being the 03/07 thing)

Lambert was... notoriously known, for many things. What things? Well, the list is long, but here is the simplified version;

Well no shit. He knew that, used it for a reason.

Speaking of hate, he hates when they hang out.

He was rather tired of everyone hanging out without inviting him. Yeah, he'd decline with a 'fuck no' or 'i hate triss lol' but, hell, he still wants at least an invite.

But no one bothered to invite him anymore.

They act like he doesnt know, isnt aware, of these events. Hes heard them talk, all because hes 'too angsty.'

Be real. If they had an Aiden, and then said Aiden died, theyd he angsty too.

Which, he will say, Geralt does have his Aiden.

Dandelion.

But no, he heard of this party that was happening at Yennefer's house. How could he not? Kiera informed him alllll about it.

And another thing he was known for; not only being a bitch, but a petty one at that.

He was going to show up at that damn party.

Lambert expected many things in his day. To fold clothes, deal with shitty customers, fold clothes again, to fix registers because somehow no one else knew how to do that, and then to again, you guessed it, fold clothes. Oh, and deal with shitty customers.

And then, he would go home around 3pm, just to clean horse shit and feed the goats on the farm. Only sometimes would he find holes in his perfectly good jeans.

But what he didnt expect? His phone to light up with a text. Ever since losing his girlfriend, he hasnt had a single text, other than from Eskel.

Eskel was a family man. Soft, sympathetic. He thinks he would have a little bit more trouble lying and hiding stuff behind his back. He thinks any of these people who are hosting these parties, throwing the- his phone dings again.

Oh, right. He was so used to a lonely phone that he forgot it went off.

Holy fucking shit? It had to be Dandelion. No one else in the group was talented enough with music to perform it.

Did Dandelion not know?

What does he do? He hated to say that his heart was racing. Why was his heart racing? It was just Dandelion. Just a rising celebrity with like seven degrees- from Oxenfurt no less- and his brothers best friend.

His heart was fucking racing. Does he be cool? Does he be mysterious? Should he even answer?

No, no he had to answer.

The few times hes talked to Dandelion have been.. amazing, actually. Of course, Dandelion had an issue with talking to strangers, and also, well, sleeping with strangers, but that was fine. Lambert felt like Dandelion enjoyed talking to, well...

Not Geralts brother, not a bitch (which he will admit he is,) not a depressed, angsty man who practically lives in his room at the farm he grew up on. Which he was.

His phone dings again. Shit.

Lambert grabs his phone off of his car mount this time, sitting in the parking lot of his shitty retail job at Cavill's Combat.

'+1 xxx-xxx-xxxx : oh shit my bad i probably shouldve clarified. this is dandelion im sorry'

'lambert : heyy yeah no youre good lol'

The multiple y's were cool? Right? Showed he was calm. One Y was boring, three was excessive. Right?

He decides not to answer the second question. For now.

He puts his phone back on the mount and his car in drive, pretending like he didn't flinch at the sound of the bluetooth connecting.

His phone dings again, and he cant answer, but he does peak at the message.

'+1 xxx-xxx-xxxx : well i wou .. geral ... mad ... ignoring me ...'

That was all he could see for now. Quit frankly, that was all he needed to see.

When I arrived home, I was bombarded with questions. Eskel was that type of man.

"How was your day at work?" He said from the kitchen, where Lambert was trying to sneak on by.

"Long." Lambert said. "Henry wasnt there."

His boss. Whenever Henry was gone, Lambert had to pick up all the shit- as an assistant store manager.

"Didnt have to fix anything today though, right?" Eskel said.

What a fake fucking bitch, Lambert thought.

"So... do you want me to fix you something to eat?"

He heard it, but didnt register it.

Being the odd one out was quite the funny thing. He lost his best, childhood friend of 14 years in his sophomore year of college to suicide.

He drops out of said college. Decides to start therapy; ends up getting sent to a psych ward.

And now hes working at some shitty fucking retail job; and still working at his adoptive fathers farm.

Yeah, life was fucking great. A ball of fucking sunshine.

Eskel was a doctor. Geralt was a successful Butcher, working under their adoptive father.

And he was a depressed man with a shitty retail job.

"Hello? Lambert?"

Without thinking, Lambert grabs the nearest item which just so happened to be a decorative vase, squeezing it tightly...

"How are things since you ended it with Kiera?"

and throws it.

Right at Eskel.

He's rather lucky it misses. Shatters all over the ground instead of on Eskel's mass.

"You're fake. Did you know that? You're a liar. You're a fraud. Stop with the fake fucking persona that you care about me."

And with that, he has no choice to storm away.

In his room, hes able to check his phone again. The text from Dandelion was sitting there, menacingly.

With how busy Dandelion was, you werent expecting an immediate response.

But you get one.

It takes Lambert a bit to decipher Dandelions absolutely awful typing. For a man with an english degree, he is sure as hell bad at English.

Lambert kept reading the, 'i know u dont like me.'

Who the fuck told Dandelion that? Because Lambert has never, not once, discussed any sort of dislike for Dandelion.

If anything, Lambert actively defends his name. He remembers all the times Geralt spoke about ignoring Dandelion, called Dandelion annoying.

Lambert would always stick up for him.

Were there any good reasons why? He had a bunch, personally.

One, and the biggest reason, was that Lambert would kill in cold blood to be able to talk to his best friend again.

Two, is that Dandelion was a good person with good morals. And incredible talent. Dandelion deserved love and praise, not hate from his closest friend.

Three, he was oddly drawn to Dandelion. He didn't know why.

He suspects it was Triss. Maybe Yennefer had assumed? Lambert didnt really like anyone, it was a safe assumption. But Geralt knew- knew Lambert actually at least tolerated Dandelions presence.

He even told Geralt that he wanted to be Dandelion's friend. That Dandelion reminded him of Aiden. He opened up to Geralt, surely his own family wouldn't do him dirty like that?

Dandelion didnt answer, and Lambert didnt know why, but it disapointed him.

'lambert : i gotta know what those tricks are though, care if i ask for a little more convincing? ;)'

Lambert was going to shit his pants.

First, he double texts. Which is fine, because Dandelion like... quadruple texts. But then he had to hit on the man.

It was playful, right? It wasn't gay. Playful. A game.

Why was his heart racing again?

He was straight anyway.

Eskel was full of concern at the dinner table when Lambert didnt show up. There sat Geralt and Vesemir, but Lamberts seat was eerily just.. empty.

"Lambert skipped his farm work today," Vesemir said, taking a bite of his mashed potatoes, before grabbing salt and shaking what seemed to be half the bottle in it. Taking another bite, he seemed satisfied.

"He didnt respond to my texts at all. Read every single one, too." Eskel said. "And he..."

Eskel did not want to throw Lambert under the bus. Not when it seemed something was seriously wrong.

"I had to pick up his fucking slack," Geralt said. "Seriously, this kid needs to grow up. We all work in jobs we don't like. I don't like slaughtering pigs and looking at blood, and I'm sure that Eskel doesn't like performing surgery. But we aren't babies about it."

Geralt was chewing into his food like a rabid animal, clearly angry. The steak that was on his plate was massacred, cut up and stabbed.

The walls at Kaer Morhen were pretty thin. The farm itself was nice, but the house wasn't in the perfect condition. It was pretty, but old, some of the rooms half-finished.

Therefore none of the men were surprised or so much as even flinched when Lambert yelled, seemingly speaking to his T.V screen and taking his anger out on Overwatch.

90% of Lambert's free time was spent on video games. It used to be with his girlfriend, Kiera, but she slowly started avoiding him.

He hardly noticed the change. It was gradual; slow, but eventually he caught on. She wasn't the same.

For his own sake, he left her. He will admit, he loved her, but it wasn't hard. She messaged him once every few days.

"He broke up with Kiera, Geralt." Eskel says. "And now hes having a rough time. Maybe we should cut him some slack."

"Don't really care. Shouldn't of been as toxic as he was." Geralt said.

"We should try to understand Lambert. He comes before a girl, Geralt. Put those events with her aside, it's clearly driving a wedge between the three of you."

They could hear Lambert; which means Lambert could hear them.

Toxic? That was funny. He devoted everything to that girl. She ran a small business he would fund- which typically took his full paycheck from Vesemir. Other than that, she didn't really work. He paid for everything.

Toxic was funny.

"Lambert was too much stress on her. Shes a girlfriend, not a therapist. Girls don't like emotional guys, I cant help that." Geralt says, sharply and angrily.

"Lambert hardly talks about emotions." Eskel corrects.

"Sure as hell corrects me all the damn time about them. Sick of him calling me ungrateful and shit. I cant control his losses." Geralt said, with a tone that ended the conversation there.

Lambert didn't understand.

Geralt. A man who ran everything in his life with his dick, not his brain. Who cheated on women, who verbally abused his friends. Who ignores his so called "best friend" because he's mad.

Thats actually not really that bad, but whatever. Lambert was mad, and petty, and wondering why Dandelion hadn't answered him.

Why was he thinking of that? Not okay, Lambert. He's busy. Probably recording music and getting yelled at by his directors.

Toxic was funny, when Lambert was so loyal. When Lambert tried his best to fit in, he just genuinely never did.

His mind ran off, to a different place, one where theres grass and tulips and roses and fuck- Dandelions.

Dandelion.

Would Dandelion prioritize Lambert over Geralt? Sure, they'd talk. But when he's mad at Geralt. When Geralt's not around. He would be a rebound for a best friend.

Just like he was to Kiera.

He had just won a match when his phone dinged and lit up three times.

Lambert was kicking his feet, giggling, and squealing like a high school girl. Well, his face was stoic, but mentally he was there. Mentally he was going insane.

He had never been hit on deliberately like that. Like stated before, he was the odd one out. With Geralt and Eskel his brothers, he was known as the ugly one of the family.

He was surprised when Kiera wanted him. Him, out of the three. He had made the move, god forbid a woman make a move on him. But she still accepted- still chose him.

She used to fuck with Geralt a couple years back, back when Geralt and Yennefer would cheat on each other. He always had girls left and right. Kiera, Yennefer, Triss, and boy, did he have a shit ton of one night stands.

He wasn't surprised when Kiera got distant. It hurt at first, but he realized one thing- thats life. She lost interest.

When people normally got to know him, they would see Geralt and run. They'd lose interest in him, all of the sudden. But Geralt would never take them from him though, he wasn't that bad a person.

And he wasn't a bad person either. But Geralt's best friend currently hitting on him? It shouldn't make him feel giddy inside. It shouldn't make him so happy that it felt like someone had chosen him over Geralt.

He couldn't help but smile.

But it was playful. It was all playful.

He couldn't help but feel his smile drop, as he went to read the last message from Dandelion. His face contorted in anger; wanting to lash out all over again.

ohmygosh okay so

with my good old lifelong youtube special interest, i had a period where i was just FASCINATED by all the actual workings behind the various mrbeast channels (and the story of how he got there), particularly mrbeast gaming (which was basically just minecraft videos)

and- ok this might just turn into an infodump for a sec cause i find the operations of it rlly interesting sdfsdk. i had a wonderful rabbit hole week where i watched a ton of videos from the perspectives of ppl who were actually in those challenges, which led me to find out about the mrbeast gaming discord server...

A monstrous thing with 60,000 members and zero channels you can talk in (thank god). It took a while to even JOIN cause it was always at member limit.

The whole thing basically got nuked last year and reformed into some sort of fortnite thing that ive never quite looked at since, but the way it worked was members would fill out a google form with their discord info, and anytime they needed people for a video they'd use some kind of bot that randomly selected a bunch of those form submissions, and checked them against people whose discord accounts were currently online. those accounts would be given a role that let them into some extra discord channels that held the relevant details for whatever the event was.

I joined the server, filled out the thing, and months later, ACTUALLY GOT SELECTED

a couple hundred people, if i recall correctly, had been as well, and the mods announced they were going to hold interviews over a couple hour period later that week, looking for people to be in a future unspecified video.

the odds of me having even gotten to this were crazy so i was already hyped, but i kept my hopes low just to manage it all sbjdhf

The interviews were done in five voice chats, with enough room for one player and a mod. someone would join, get interviewed, then leave the call, then there was a split second opportunity to click on that call with just the right timing as a hundred other people tried to do the same.

somehow, i got in one! i was interviewed by a guy called brethoodie, who was the actual head of mrbeast gaming behind the scenes?? I think??? and like-it actually went super well. we were vibing and it was just a really nice conversation tbh. he had a question they asked like 'if you won 100k and had to spend it on something for urself (rather than donate it, pay off debt, all the other realistic but generic responses), what would you do?' and i thought abt it and realised that in this fantasy land, i'd go all out crazy on materials for some kind of massive art project or sculpture type creation, and he said that was one of the most interesting responses he'd had!!

after that i continued to watch the voice channels and i realised that at the rate they went, they really couldve only interviewed like. i dunno. 20-40 people max? so i was feeling PRETTY good about my chances. he said theyd get back to me in a week or two if i'm in, but I just never heard anything back.

which was like, fine? was disappointed ofc but like. Oh Well. it was an interesting time regardless

a couple months later a video came out, i figure this was the one they'd been working on so i have a look and...

impo you can do sad lyrics with upbeat music or happy lyrics with dark/sad sounding music but never happy & upbeat (cloying, saccharine) or dark & sad together (gimme a break). its just too Too. there exists songs that prove exceptions to the rule, of course there are. but they are rare and have to be very good.

Musically these guys are all over the place which maybe is why both people loved them and why people didnt love them. they are very broad. its like when an artist just does everything and its all good or interesting but no one cares and then theres an artist that paints the same shit over and over but its their developed style and people lap it up and they get famous. Im just making the point. But what is true of music that gets really really stratosphere popular is that it is samey. Theres enough deviation (sometimes) to keep it interesting but its mostly the same for that band/group/artist to have a hook and a cozy familiarity, a thing they do that is theirs. Maccabees have a few different handfulls of songs that really go together. you might really like what 4 songs do but not what any of the others do...and you might not ever get a fifth of that type of song...that make sense? and maybe thats why live i kept seeing a similar setlist over and over no matter which year. and maybe there wasnt a strong enough personality in the group to drive & hone the creative flow. a natural one, not an oppressive one. idk & it doesnt matter & i probably wont find out. what i do need tho is orlando to stop being so sweet (as a solo artist) because the quality of his voice conveys other emotions so beautifully. so i recently learned that if you create the ideal conditions for bugs to breed in your bedroom sometimes that will extend past the bugs you intended to breed. oops!

my friend @ecosystim recently got a venus fly trap and that inspired me to try a carnivorous plant of my own. so i got an octopus plant!

i didnt want to get a venus fly trap bc those expend energy to close and open and i didnt know if i could feed it veronica's leftovers. like, she eats the abdomen and leaves most of the thorax and legs and maybe head, so i didn't know if they'd have enough nutrition left to be worth the energy for a venus fly trap.

i figured a pitcher plant would be a good dead bug waste bin... and decided to get the octopus plant instead, after an agonizing several minutes trying to decide.

i'm not sure how to go about feeding dead bugs to an octopus plant either, but merle clearly doesn't need the help. this fucker is a killing machine. i showed him to mom after taking a walk and he'd already caught all KINDS of shit. i checked against the prior pic and everything!

it's hard to discern if theyre actually bugs--i was expecting carpet beetles, which are the ones i'd seen hijacking my breeding setup--but idk what else theyd be? like, here's where i placed him:

you're supposed to leave the plastic sleeve on to preserve humidity, so nothing's gonna just drift in, but there are 2 slots on the side at the rim of the pot and the top is open, so bugs can climb in. those have to be bugs right??? merle is just a stone cold bug murderer i think. this is the stem of a killer bella.

i genuinely was not expecting this solution to be THIS effective THIS quickly. merle really said 'i heard you had a bug problem? say no more. give me 2 hours.'

What are your non-negotiable Will,Mike or byler scenes for next season? Any you have a clear vision for?

oooo i have plenty of very clear byler visions for next season that are all very plausible and make sense narratively but thats not to say that im 100% confident they will happen.

i think non-negotiable is a pretty aggressive way to define this theory im about to talk about because i think it kinda implies that theres no other way it could possibly go down which just isnt true but i do think it would be a huge missed opportunity of they didnt do this. i think mike will be revealed as gay to the audience through a vecna trance and i think this may also be how el finds out because she was piggybacking in his mind and saw/heard everything.

i do think there is some good evidence to support that mike will be vecna’d. a big one is mike being the one to see max get a bloody nose. you would expect lucas to be the one to see this and worry about her. mike is a really random choice and there is always intention and meaning behind little things like this in film.

also bathing will in light and the idea that max has to go to the light to leave vecna’s mind. they light up will in the van scene but also the cabin scene which i think has a double meaning and foreshadows their conflict with vecna because this lighting is the EXACT kinda lighting we see in the creel house.

max also tells lucas that vecna targets people who have something “haunting” them. mike is such a perfect victim for this. we saw in s4 how much he is trying to be someone else and trying to burry the part of him that likes will and likes boys in general. every one of vecnas victims has had some kinda guilt that theyve been trying to hide. (which is why eddies line “its forced conformity thats whats killing the kids!!!!!” is fucking genius). mike has been doing that for YEARS. i think the only reason he wasnt a target in s4 was because he wasnt in hawkins.

now for el, i have less evidence to backup that mike will be outed to her but i do think its possible and i really really hope el is the first person to know mike is gay. i think it would help him so much to hear from someone who didnt grow up the way he did and wasnt ever taught to hate people like him.

i have always thought this shot meant that el was suspicious of mike and wills feelings, and it probably does mean that, but now that i think about it it could also foreshadow her piggybacking into mikes mind too and seeing will in his mind.

i think mike is overdue for a full on panic attack. we see will express his emotions pretty much every season but mike has been suppressing them so deeply for years. the last time we saw him totally break down was in s2 when he was yelling at hopper. since then, he’s been trying to be someone else, whether its consciously or not. he needs a scene like wills destroying the castle and el needs to be the one to comfort him.

i envision mike waking from his trance of being tortured by vecna with all his feelings for will and being gay and hes breathing heavy with tears down his face. hes frantically looking around the room and everybody there and then he sees el take off her blindfold and wipe the blood dripping from her nose and he realizes she was in his mind. i see them both looking at each other, el with sympathy and mike with total panic, and mike runs to a separate room and el follows.

then el would sit with mike on the floor and mike would apologize profusely and theyd have a long, sweet discussion. mike would come clean and just tell her everything. that hes gay, that he loves will, that he felt so bad not breaking up with her as soon as he figured out, then he said he loved her because he thought it was the only way to get her to live. and el would just listen and then admit that she doesnt think she ever really loved him romantically either and that she wants to just be friends. i want this scene to be SO SWEET AND SO EMOTIONAL AND I HOPE IT MAKES ME CRY!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways thats just part of how i envision queer mikes reveal to the audience and his first coming out experience.

"Directly or indirectly, it recognizes the purpose of a sexual relationship to be procreation." The straightforward greek orthodox perspective I've heard is basically the same as the KKE's position here, just couched in religious reasoning rather than socioeconomic. It's fair to call them homophobic bc of this imo. They conclude by saying they're around to rally people not against interpersonal or individual oppression but as a class against capital, which... isn't bad on the face of it, I guess. It's not short but I think it'll give you a decent idea of how they think. man i had a fuck of a nightmare last night

an old friend and i had moved out to japan together to kind of start over and get a new lease on life. we got a ground story apartment that butted right up against a college, & i found out pretty quickly that someone i grew up with was attending! she introduced me to her best friend, and thats where stuff kind of hit off.

her friend was this cute little latina girl with huge dark eyes and curly hair (my greatest weakness) and i, being terminally weak and single in my dream, immediately invited her over to hang out. she kind of giggled abt it and followed me over to our apartment while we made small talk and once we walked in, the buddy i was living with hops up immediately like oh? you brought over a friend? thats so exciting and kind of swarmed her. not in a bad way! shes just a very strong personality and can be an acquired taste. that said, this girl i brought over was really shy and kind of folded under the attention so i pulled her into my room for some. privacy. to talk.

and it was a lot of fun honestly. we really hit it off. she asked me if i could fix something wrong with her laptop so i was messing around with it while she did this little scavenger hunt for pieces to put together a 3D puzzle she was really interested in. it was nice. id crack jokes and shed like giggle and flush and i was like oh i am KILLING this until i turned around to ask her a question about her computer and realized shed left my room at some point and the 3D puzzle was only one piece away from complete, laying on my bed.

i went to find the last piece and then trailed out with it in my hands to find her and realized my roomie was talking her EAR off and shed been shooting me sos texts about it. i came around the corner where i could hear them talking and only my roomie was there, looking dejected and sunken into the couch. i was like, whered she go? and she said i dont know. i dont think she likes me very much.

i gave her a little pep talk while we waited, assuming shed run back to her dorm or over to the corner store to get something. but gradually nearly a week passed where we didnt hear back from her. upon asking, her friend hadnt either. concerned, my roomie and i gathered up all the stuff shed left (including her whole laptop) and stuck them into the living room closet so theyd be safe when she finally returned.

we slipped into my room to discuss it because we were both really starting to worry when the shadow cast from my window shifted and i spun around to see just the very top of her curly little head poking over the windowsil. thinking she was checking to see if we were home, i JUMPED up so relieved, but was knocked back by the force at which our front door SLAMMED open and SLAMMED shut.

we looked at each other like whwhhhh why do you think she did THAT...? and held our breath as we heard her stumbling footsteps across the carpet and then a clattering of things pulled off the closet shelf in the living room. so shed come back for her stuff. thats good, right? thats a good thing? but as i pushed the bedroom door open to ask if everything was okay, the living room was empty. the closet door was swaying but everything else was still.

my roomie and i glanced at each other again like oh. uhm. okay. and as were trying to figure out what had just happened, i hear her voice, wavering from within my bedroom calling for me. so i book it like holy shit, are you okay? but my room is likewise empty.

and again, from behind me this time, i hear her shy voice as if from under water, call for help.

we pulled the apartment apart but we couldnt find her anywhere. her stuff was still sitting untouched on the top shelf of the closet and her phone was off. and slowly, realizing she wasnt here in any way physically, my roomie and i sat down. & i just remember her saying slowly, quietly, "i dont think shes okay, isaiah." before her jaw fell open and a horrific foghorn blared out of it.

Thoughts on our episode oops:

This ones a lot stronger than i was expecting which is good!

- The beginning of the episode isnt quite my normal favorite beginning to an episode but it works for telling us fizz and ozzie are a couple and their actual dynamic which id say we needed screen time given to because its kind of an act (even though i liked the prior established idea fizz and Ozzies relationship might be that they find love gross despite being in a relationship bc its more about whats agreed upon to constitute it)

- Again i think itd really sell a theme to the episode if Ozzie didnt want to go with Fizz to get milk out of concern theyd be mistaken as a couple causing a part of the reason fizz gets into this mess

- i think Striker shouldve been kidnapped by Crimson who running out of men and money would rather kidnap and force an assassin to work for him or be killed than risk cutting his numbers down further after what Millie did. Especially bc arguably prior episodes have implied Striker is better at one on one fights and is easily overpowered when out numbered.

- Im not super on board with Striker pulling Fizz and Blitzo off the street so easily when if Fizz and Ozzie were a poorly kept secret whys it in the paper as proven and not a "shits hit the fan" moment? And hows he weaker than Bee when he's very clearly muscular? Maybe if Stiker was trying to grab Fizz's dogs especially the albino one recognizing them as Ozzies and therefore something hed pay a pretty penny for. Only to by chance pull up Blitzo and Fizz whos mistaken as Ozzies dog walker.

-okay so in backstory the fire is green. But then shouldnt he be bothered by said green fire in Loolooland and why didn't we see it in his trip?

-tbh shouldn't he possibly bc scared of horses too bc of this?

no, i dont think its an invasion, but i do think its a humanitarian crisis that is being handeled horribly by both the left and right

when i was 18ish i worked w a charity in immigration law, particularly w the refugee department helping those from southern america. id put together their asylum cases and send them forward. good people, but many horrible and desperate stories. people fleeing extreme poverty, people fleeing absolutely horrible cases of gang violence (heard plenty abt ppls relatives being disemboweled, hanged in public, etc), desperate families fleeing so their children could have better lives, desperate mothers and daughters fleeing trafficking and csa cases, the list goes on and on and on. it was heartbreaking

i think theres this conception that, idk, many of these ppl are "criminals" or "freeloaders" who just want the us to take care of them, or theres the other idea that this is some sort of staged invasion to destabilize the us, but that ain't really the case. Many, if not most, are just desperate people wanting better lives for themselves and their loved ones, and theyre desperate enough to risk their lives crossing through jungles and mountains and deserts, to use coyotes who may or may not traffick them. They sure as hell arent "freeloaders" either as the republicans would say, most of these are hard working ppl who want jobs, who get jobs, who very much contribute and pay taxes and the whole ordeal

if anything the immigration laws makes it Harder for them to contribute, bc of all the bullshit regulations like theyre not allowed to drive, not allowed to get xyz job, etc etc. which is why so many end up driving and working illegally - because they need to survive. unfortunately this makes things even more dangerous for them, bc being shoved in illegal jobs often means they are taken advantage of, underpayed, mistreated, etc etc. this also makes things harder bc these ppl, whove lived in the us for years upon years, some of them whove spend their entire lives since they were babies here, end up being "criminals" and being deported for some bullshit like a minor driving infraction

also. historically. this is very much their land. california/southern western america in particular was their land, but the whole damn country was their land before western europeans showed up and genocided everyone. i find it quite unfair to paint them as invadors when,,, well. if it werent for the american empire theyd very much have the right and ability to travel and return to the lands that some of them were displaced from, or to travel as they used to. these borders between america and the southern american states are not nature, theyre not set in stone, and they got made in the wake of a brutal, brutal history

its not nearly as easy as saying "why dont they migrate legally" either. many of these ppl are poor, many are in desperate situations which theyre trying to leave as soon as they can, and the immigration system is Very hard to get through. very hard. last i was working the backlog for immigration cases spanned 5-20 years, its absolutely Insane how hard it is to get citizenship here when you come from the south. Even for those who have daca or the dreamers act its stupidly, ridiculously hard for them to get citizenship in a country theyve been living in at times their whole lives, or decades upon decades

and also. on top of this i think its important to remember that part of the reason why so many ppl are desperate to migrate is Because of america in the first place, because of all the endless bullshit the us has done politically in southern america largely for the sake of their own profit, because of how much they've destabilized and fucked up so much of the region, because of the rampant corporations and capitalism and economic imperialism and globalizsm which have plunged so many places into severe poverty and dispair, the list goes on and on. america sure as hell doesnt have clean hands in this crisis, so maybe they shouldnt be surprised to deal with its reprocessions

a l s o. i have a personal bias bc i really like southern americans, generally speaking, as ppl. i live in california, so there's a lot of them here too - hell theyre the majority of the population i think?. some of my favorite people in this country frankly, theyre full of humour, theyre warm and kind and welcoming, soulful people, their cultures are beautiful, their food is very, very good, and ive always felt rather at home among them

all that being said, the left is doing a horrible fucking job handling all this. many democrat held cities and sanctuary cities are a damn mess, in so many regards. the homelessness and poverty and essentially slums and all this, it is really really bad, and a refugee/immigrant crisis on top of that makes it all a lot worse. when ppl yell that its ridiculous were taking other ppl when we cant take care of our own poor and homeless, i very much understand where theyre coming from. it is ridiculous, and a damn mess. democrats going on abt how "its not a humanitarian crisis" or whatever tf to be politically correct are just being stupid. it definitely is, and its putting a strain on the already failing system. thing is, i rly do think we can solve both of these issues - this country definitely has the damn money. these arent issues of lack of money, they are issues of the absolute incompetence of democratic government in this country (cali being a good example of this) and the stupid misallocation of money, as well as money stealing, as well as a falling and clogged beurocracy which talks a lot and does nothing and passes surface level look good measures which do nothing proper. this can be handeled in a more humaine, sane, rational and productive way,,,, if theyd get their shit together. something that definitely needs to happen is a reworking of the immigration system and law - so many ppl wouldnt be trying to enter "illegally" if it wasnt so stupidly hard to get citizenship or even a visa legally

the irony of seeing people critique gossip blogs through a gossip blog. not saying i don’t agree btw i was just reading through and found it funny. i think balance is necessary maybe, because i agree that as long as there is a community wanting to engage on these there will be the need for a good outlet for it, which sincerely is filling. if they close it’ll trigger one of the other current blogs or maybe another new one and that would be way worse than what this is. we don’t want to direct traffic there, but instead establish that constructive conversation is the only way to go about it. instead, why don’t we give ideas to make this blog better? as long as the admins are cool with it i guess. like personally, i’m thinking maybe they can have individual tags for the rps that are spoken about (but not the rp name itself, maybe sincerely, rp name or something) where good and constructive feedback is included, and only bad feedback (bullying and admin abuse) with proof is posted.

i also think if someone says something good about an rp, then conversation that contradicts it should be forced to be constructive or use proof. this would allow people to say things like ‘x rp is so welcoming!’ and then have others respond with ‘i’m glad x rp is welcoming for most, it seems to have improved from my experience! it would be really nice if older members interacted with newer ones more, though! hoping to see positive changes like this because i love abc thing about this krp, and it’s why i’m staying.’ if they have an opposing thought with no proof.

when it comes to rumors, if people have suspicion about an rp being made by a certain other horrible rp team or something like that, i think that you should watch the krp or join or gather evidence to support your claim before bringing it here. yes, it’s sad as an admin to have someone join for this reason, but realistically it’s better than them destroying you before you’re even open on a gossip blog. i don’t mean you need rock solid proof, but something somewhat concrete that admins can look at to clear up, or others can look at to judge for themselves.

proof needs to be specific to be valued imo. so specifics like the exact person in the krp, mun or muse name, is fine. we are adults, and if you choose to use personal identification on these spaces, we shouldn’t have to baby you. just be smart, guys. and don’t be mean? it’s not that hard. that isn’t doxxing. obviously if someone has their real face in a pfp or whatever you should black it out but admins already said theyd remove personal identification that way. that’s talking about the real world, not your online krp identity. so clarifying doxxing’s definition on this blog could be good too.

my point is, we can find a way to still let things be said here, and just filter its effect. and i think doing this will let people say more positive things too!
