I love Bakugou with all my heart. He's one of my favourite characters. But it's always kind of hard to interact with a lot of his stans because of how overly protective they are of him, to the point where they mischaracterize or slander other characters when they dont do something in favour of bakugou. They act like hes a baby at times. Ofc not all of them are like that, butbits always the vocal ones that stand out and theyre many.
Unpopular opinion but I also dislike the "bakugou is a damsel in distress" thing they say, mainly the dk//bks. Cause that title should be given to no one, they're all bamfs.
The release of 431 basically had half the bakugou fandom burying Midoriya alive and even saying things like how Bakugou should start hating on Midoriya. Or that bakugou should have died so that Midoriya can live a life of suffering. Acting like Horikoshi did Bakugou a disservice when imo Bakugou had the kindest, most well written character development given to him.
To be completely blunt, in all my years of being in this fandom I've never encountered such a rabid group of people who will literally shit their pants because other characters or the author (in the final chapter) weren't kissing their ass for more than 2 minutes.
I do feel you on that, Anon.
I said it before, Bakugou is my guy, my boom boom boy. I like him as I do many other characters in the series. He has a good storyline, he is a great character on his own.
And that what infuriates me about some other Bakugou fans.
He is already such a good character, so why is there a need, a must, an urge to bash and mischaracterize other characters just to put him down?
Part of what I'm going to say is my bias because you all know Midoriya is my favorite tied with Miruko, but the other part of me is someone coming from a Bakugou fan standpoint. And you know what, feel free to be mad at me, but I just can't anymore!
The fandom over the past year or so has done nothing but disappoint me. Truly and at this point, I feel like I have to let out everything.
A lot of the reactions I saw towards Midoriya in the epilogue was absolue bullshit.
"He should give Bakugou back the suit!"
"How dare he turn down Bakugou!"
Bakugou was not the only fucking person who put in on helping with that suit and he damn sure wasn't the only person who saw Midoriya as the hero he is. Midoriya does not owe Bakugou any, let alone be an EMPLOYEE at his agency.
Like, damn, can he actually get used to some Pro Hero work in before he makes such decisions?
And I'll be honest, him not working at agency actually gave me joy. I actually like that idea. It reminds me of Miruko.
Him being a solo type hero allows Midoriya to be flexible with his routine. I guess they forgot he is a teacher. They must not have realized that Midoriya can and will fight by Bakugou's side in the field. Who said they needed a fucking agency to do all of that?
In fact, them being separated and not working at the same place would allow them to be more happy to see each since it's like "I didn't get to see you all day! I've been waiting to lay my eyes on you, I was counting the seconds till we meet again". I like that scenario, can we jump on that?
Like, what if Midoriya said no because he felt like Bakugou had done enough for him? Huh? How would he know Bakugou would want him at the agency and why even spring that on him being so cryptic about it in front of Kirishima? Sorry but Bakugou went about it the wrong way.
Midoriya can be oblivious but he's also not a mind reader. And sometimes, Bakugou is not that transparent, let alone someone who is right all the time himself.
I feel like that a lot of the fandom just wanted Bakugou to tie Midoriya down. Want him to own Midoriya like he's some fucking pet.
I thought they were supposed to be equals, but clearly I was lied to!
Like, when I say I was so disappointed in some fellow BakuDeku shippers, I was probably beyond disappointment. I couldn't follow anymore of some of the blogs because of the things they were saying.
I know Bakugou's hair is golden, but he is not some golden child. He is not some fragile little baby that some of the fandom treats him as such while also thinking he's so perfect.
They're doing exactly what lead to his terrible behavior in the first place, now that I'm thinking about it! Oh, I thought we were supposed to learn from that, HELLO?!
He is not perfect. That's what makes him a great character. A character with flaws makes for an entertaining one, but in this case, not for Bakugou! How I cannot believe!
That's why I also enjoy Midoriya. He has flaws, but the bad thing is how most of the fandom amped them up to 100 to make him seem more terrible.
I really hate how some of those same Bakugou and BakuDeku shippers reduce Midoriya into someone who can't do everything right, or he was like vindictive in the epilogue.
Like, some of you was so quick to say that the epilogue was so out of character, so why even go along with the notion that "Midoriya doesn't care about Bakugou, he betrayed Bakugou"?
Easy, because you don't care about Midoriya which is absurd to me given that if you're a Bakugou fan, Midoriya is the last character you should be hating on. Bakugou would hate you for hating Midoriya.
(Getting flashbacks to that one post about how the OP was mad at Midoriya for making Bakugou cry because he didn't tell him about OFA... in season one... WHAT?!)
I'm jumping on that unpopular opinion with you because my gosh. "I hate it when Midoriya is the damsel in Tddk fics and Bakugou is the bad guy".
I see why, but then why turn around and treat Bakugou like he's a damsel? To give more Midoriya stress? I'm all for angst, but I do feel like some people just want Midoriya to suffer like "see how you didn't appreciate Bakugou enough" and out of some hate agenda.
Listen, I know the pair are like the "don't separate at all costs" type, but again, it should be equal.
Yes, they care deeply about each other. But they're still their own separate characters.
Flaws Horikoshi's writing may have, but it damn sure ain't that flawed to not make sense of some of these characters.
I'm sorry (not really), but I feel like that some truly don't get Midoriya at all and don't want to take the time out to understand him. An injustice really to being a BakuDeku shipper. You won't see the harmony within that ship.
#i feel like i should get apologies for how emotionally distressed i am now /j#seriously when i say i was disappointed i was BEYOND THAT#bakugou wouldn't mind a fan but he wouldn't like an ass kisser especially if you're gonna hate#on those he cares about to do it#kiya answers#bnha#mha#boku no hero academia#my hero academia#bnha spoilers#midoriya izuku#izuku midoriya#bakugou katsuki#katsuki bakugou#bakudeku

Teruko and Yosano should've faced off. I think Yosano should've been posed that question that Atsushi was; that reveal of the "future war" - Teruko went along with Fukuchi out of a mix of indebtedness and being at a loss for what to do. War is all she's known; of course she doesn't know. But Yosano has been to the depths of despair and come back out of it again. She might've faltered at this horrific reminder of her trauma, but when it comes down to it, she saves the lives before her. She fought for a way back to light and life. I just think there could've been a really interesting conflict there. And it would've made Teruko's role much more tragic if she wanted desperately for there to be a third option but just didn't have enough time to sit with it and process what that third option might be before Fyodor made it all go to hell.
Also a fight between them would've been interesting, because Teruko is much physically stronger than Yosano, but Yosano can heal from any physical injury inflicted. However, since we now know Teruko can alter mental age, she could inflict psychological wounds by de-aging her, which would've been a good callback to the horrors of war in her backstory, and also been a nice bit of foreshadowing for Teruko actually being a child.
Teruko eventually allowing Yosano to leave out that door after seeing her resolve would've been a deeply bittersweet and powerful moment, I think, especially in hindsight after her backstory reveal.
#look i love atsushi's response in that scene - it's a wonderful bit of character development for him to choose to walk out that door#i wrote a meta about it even#but it didn't go anywhere. and with teruko being present and having such an impact at the climax of the arc#her tragedy would've hit harder if she'd had literally any moment of relation with a member of the main cast.#also atsushi didn't even really do anything with the info. it was literally just to tell the audience that there was more to the story#his conflict really should've focused solely around sskk's previous failure and akutagawa's sacrifice#and meursault arc should not have been so prevalent. sorry.#either that or they should've kept dazai and fyodor contained and had sigma nikolai and chuuya be the main actors. but whatever#the arc should've been more focused on fukuzawa ranpo yosano fukuchi teruko and tachihara#from the start.#see i actually think the twists are fun and good but man i do wish we actually had the time to sit on them.#the emotional core is there it's just... buried under shock value plot twists. doa arc is a tragedy. let us sit with the tragedy.#fukuchi is a tragic figure by which i don't mean he makes me sad but like. a classical tragic figure. he was doomed from the moment#he went to war.#his desperation to avert another caused him to go hurtling down the path of no return. to hurt his friend ironically because he had#unshakeable faith in him#fukuzawa and fukuchi are the emotional core#the themes are war and desperation.#those only became fully evident at the very end. there was some great set up then the middle became a bit. muddled? to me?#i just think we needed to have picked a few focal characters and stuck with them. imo.#eh ignore me i'm not even really complaining i'm just thinking#bsd#storyrambles#random thoughts

You know one of the weirdest things about the Toxic side of fandoms I've seen? It's the way they try to treat all shows like they're supposed to be setting examples for the audience.
Take Hazbin Hotel for example. I have seen so many people pulling up a single bad trait that Chaggie or Huskerdust may or may not have and use that as the sole reason why they shouldn't be together at all. Which is so dumb but also bizarre because real life couples have their own good and bad qualities and having one possibly negative aspect about your relationship is more often not a reason you should immediately break up.
But sometimes fans and trolls act like these characters need to be in Disney-style-picture-perfect romance otherwise they're unhealthy and shouldn't be together. Like they seem to be under this really strange idea that all entertainment should be educational for the audience and if they're not setting a good example then it's bad TV.
It's so weird.
#Hazbin Hotel#Chaggie#Huskerdust#Like I've seen so many people#saying Angel is a bad character#because he sexually harrassed Husk.#As if that isn't part of his development and flaws#which is what makes him such a good character imo.#Or people will complain the villains have good traits#as if they're supposed to be one dimensional#when that is exactly what makes a bad character.#I dunno#I think some people never outgrew their childhood story logic#and now the deeper & more complex stuff makes them angry.#Maybe it's just me.#I don't know if any of this made sense#it's just been on my mind for a while and I needed to vent.

Also finished final season of Enterprise.
As for the last episode, personally, I don't hate it, but it's very VERY underwhelming.
You can tell it got cancelled in the middle of filming and were told they can have 1 final episode to wrap things up and it just didn't work.
Oh well...
#overall#travis deserved more episodes to himself#phlox was phlox (love him)#malcolm was interesting#they couldn't figure out what to do with t'pol and trip's relationship#hoshi had the most character development imo#would've loved to see more of soval's development but alas#and i really wished they expanded on archer and shran's friendship#but at least shran is a girl dad#oh and porthos needed more cheese#star trek#star trek enterprise#st ent#jonathan archer#trip tucker#t'pol#malcolm reed#travis mayweather#hoshi sato#soval#thy'lek shran#jeffrey combs

Finished RER2! I'm happy I finally got to the end, after stopping late into it the first time I played it.
I find it and its predecessor to be really underrated, especially in the story department. It doesn't help that they never developed the massive bombshell that they dropped in the stinger to the true ending, and seeing how 7+8 turned out... I don't think they ever will, and that bums me out.
#Resident Evil#resident evil revelations 2#it has its flaws definitely but I really enjoy it overall#I think bringing Claire back after such a long absence was brilliant. Barry then? even more pronounced an effect bc of how long he was gone#and it introduced Moira who's another one of my faves... I truly wish she would show up again in some capacity#and Alex is such an iconic villain... it's a SIN that she's kinda hidden away in this lowkey title imo!!#(specially since she has an open door to come back considering. you know.)#and imo it has the best utilization of a partner character in any RE game#I played the whole game on my work breaks#I get antsy bringing my systems (switch especially) to work bc there's a lot that could go wrong in the way#but still.#instead of developing new titles they seem to prefer remaking games that don't actually need remakes now so *sigh*

I know I say this as a confirmed seivarden stan but I would have killed to see her interact with captain hetnys and sword of atagaris. or with basnaaid! can you imagine? all the class stuff gets explored in ancillary mercy from the seivarden/ekalu angle but imo it would possibly have been more fun to watch her have a status showdown with hetnys and figure out how to treat someone similar to awn, especially since breq is constantly wondering how she would treat awn & comparing basnaaid to awn. I just think there was potential for all of those relationships to be messier and more dramatic which is maybe a personal taste thing but still
#not that ekalu isn't sweet but idk#and my other take is that basnaaid should have made some more controversial choices#part of the appeal of awn for me is that breq elevates her so much in her mind but we see her making awful choices#it's just a fun contrast between narration & what's really going on#and you LIKE awn want her to succeed but you can't deny she's committed some atrocities so it just complicates the book in a cool way#there's a lot of focus on side characters in the later books but imo#we either needed more time with them more distinguishing characteristics or fewer of them#i've finally come around on tisarwat though as like. a well developed character whose personality isn't for me#like she's not just there randomly. it's fine

im actually getting so heated but i’d love to know your opinion on how annoyed people are getting about dennis “successfully monitoring his blood pressure” and actually being in control of his body. like??? huh??
I dunno, I don't really get why it's an issue for so many people personally speaking shsjnfnkhfjd this is like, pretty well established stuff, he's just gotten better at it and is using kratom to achieve it now. I'm jazzed that we're going to get (and have been getting) the Not Just Angry dennis that glenn wanted to play.
#ask ada#im happy for him i wanted a change in dennis and this is a really really great way of going about it imo#like it doesnt change the dynamic with the gang it just sort of#cleanly pushes dennis to be a little more chill with them all while also developing our understanding of him#its a character study ep!#i dont think sunny NEEDS to be bleak and depressing and have them miserable all the time#thats why i dislike a lot of the more recent seasons#i think dennis needed a personal victory#even if its delusional#he can control his rage now. like. good. glenn's sick of going into that headspace hdsjhfjfjf#also like. yeah charlie lost his dad and sobbed in the rain but. s15 ended on a hopeful note and it was BETTER for it#because the gang came together to support him#so like. what is the problem#idk i got everything i wanted and more and i have no complaints#he had to compromise the entire episode and work with the hand he was dealt#its not... dennis having control over his body. its dennis coming to terms with the fact that he needs to step back and relinquish control#he realizes he CAN'T control shit. he can't control his body aging and he can't control other people#and then. he accepts it. and calms the hell down

this season’s astonishingly mediocre romcoms are making me realize shikimori was waaaaaay better than i originally gave it credit for
#crab watches#various things#tomo-chan is actually alright but the bits are pretty hit or miss since no two characters have THAT much chemistry with each other#i do like tomo and jun together in general#they have a nice dynamic and i dig their backstory (always a sucker for childhood friends)#as for ice guy... lmao a big yikes of a final episode today#overall this was such a soothing series and my main gripe (before today) was just its comedic timing#the bits almost all felt like they were 1.5 to 2 times longer than they needed to be#probably the series could've told the exact same story even with half-length episodes#the pacing of the relationship development was also imo not the best#wish they'd gone the horimiya route of having the couple get together and then just showing the relationship for a while#anyway new main gripe is the random fucking shotacon vibes in the final episode COULD WE NOT HAVE DONE WITHOUT#in hindsight there were warning signs#the first time himuro turned into a kid for magic yuki-onna reasons was actually kind of hilariously cute#like ''oh no the guy who's a yuki-onna descendant got too hot and melted on a company retreat in okinawa and#now he's turned into a kid in front of the colleague he has a crush on'' that's funny#but definitely not a joke worth visiting twice especially since the second visit was less ''funny'' and more ''suggestive''#i will admit that it is reasonable for himuro to get all flustered when falling into a bed with fuyutsuki#even though his body changed into that of a child his mind is unchanged and this is still the woman he's crushing hard on#but tf was she getting flustered for too?? girl that is a child rn??? compose yourself#anyway these tags are getting absurdly long so i guess this is now#parting thoughts

it’s so funny to have like. A completely different interpretation of a popular pairing in a fandom. Like these characters do not interact in canon and therefore neither of us are really right cause you can interpret both of the characters interacting in reasonable in character ways and come out with 2 wildly different scenarios. I see you people that also think about this ship in wildly different ways than I do. I respect you. I am also mildly afraid to share my opinion on them cause it’s hilarious but also objectively like. The least functional vaguely toxic dynamics.
#I’m just. Thinking about it all still#they’re all objectively so fucked up except maybe character A#but he’s only mildly messed up and still has his own issues and traits we can extrapolate would become prominent interacting with C#Also imo A needs to develop more of a spine but flawed character. I love flawed realistic character#all this to say I don’t think a sweet relationship between A and C would work#My friend coined the term anti-kitchen-table polyamory for them#But like. That’s all heavily based on my own interpretation and trying to invision how they’d interact cause they don’t#so fluffy A and C is just as correct and I have a lot of fun seeing stuff of it it’s sweet to imagine#I’m writing this cause I opinions with nowhere to go#rambling

#some tag rambles bc im having a bunch of loz thoughts to hey why not do a short lived tag ramble#starting with the bad i have thought more on how i feel totk fucked up its characters and its like. yeah any arcs that are there are bad#zeldas is dogshit all of the sages are just. VERY tell no show and it really doesnt matter and otherwise idk#nothing wrong with a static character but imo with a static character you then have to show more of them#reveal some things. also doesnt really happen. the main speaking cast are also kinda weak in relation to link#they dont really work off of him very well bc hes… not treated like a character. hes just some virtuous everyman in the story#so theres no actual chemistry between him or the other characters bc he isnt treated a character so like. he has almost no chemistry#its all mostly one sided and none of the sages but zelda have any real chemistry with other major characters either#and the major characters zelda has chemistry with barely matter so fuck it. like when ppl talk abt like. loz stories#and ppl talk abt how yeah they arent the best but totk is rlly bad. i dont feel like any other loz stories are baaaaad#not in the same way. but they dont feel as egregiously fumbled. imo its bc of the characters most of them time#ofc story can be strong enough and im not discounting stuff like mm and oots themes and atmosphere and stuff#it seeeems to me the most popular non zelda sage is tulin? but mostly bc hes a sweet kid and thats fine and all but there doesnt seem to#be much else to him hes otherwise kinda unremarkable bc he just doesnt do much else and seems to exists mostly to serve gameplay and plot#botw did it better bc the champions actively had a dynamic and a relationship with link they arent the deepest but they have more substance#botw zelda is arguably the strongest character in botw with a unique personality and genuine relationship to link even if we just see it#in the memories and seeing her warm up to link is cool but imp they fumble it in the ending of her arc and how it kinda contradicts stuff#and in totk they doubled the fuck down on her unlocking her powers for reasons related to link and decided ig shed figure she needs to be#links forever bestie and hypeman and she kinda just revolves around him in a really superficial way and this is the negative extreme#of a character being bolstered by being connected to link. but anyways in loz its the characters that tend to be the strongest points#and the characters with a clear dynamic and relationship to link shine the most. think groose ghirahim ravio midna fi marin linebeck sheik#the list could go on but the characters who get a chance to shine by interacting with the Player Character are the ones who stick out#and ofc they get more screen time but they cant avoid that character development or general character fleshing out bc they are in some way#tied to link and in a sort of way link himself is more fleshed out through how those other characters react to him if that makes sense#i think loz is at its best when a good bit of emphasis and effort is placed on characters and character relationships#and when thise relationships and character are written well ofc this fucking matters too#anyways thats why ph is one of the best we love our character heavy black sheep them ds characters carry so hard and so fucking well mwah

How to write Injuries!
Note this is how to utilize them in your story and not going into the physical details how how to write every type of injury, because that second one would both stretch my medical knowledge and be way too expansive for a tumblr post.
1) Research
Knowing about the malady you are afflicting your character with is important. In the most optimal case this involves talking to an actual medical professional who is well-versed on that type of injury. However, since not all of us have doctors at our beck and call, a few articles from decent sources can suffice. Typically you're going to want these pieces of info:
symptoms (description fodder)
mechanism (how could this injury be sustained?)
level of impairment (know how and to what level the injury would reasonably impair someone. This info might need more digging around than the others)
healing time (know how long it takes to heal from this injury)
treatment (potentially including symptom management)
Having this knowledge will help ground your story in at least a touch of realism. Make sure your symptoms match the injury, make sure the mechanism of the injury is sufficient and just overall makes sense for the injury, don't have someone with a broken leg strolling around like nothing happened, don't have the healing time unexplainably short or long, don't treat shock by trying to cool them off, etc.
A quick note, if you are doing a fantasy/not-real injury or illness you don't get to necessarily skip this step. In fact, imo, it can become even harder since you have to fill in these details yourself. Remember, internal consistency is key.
2) Attach Relevance
You want the injury to matter to the plot or character development. Does the broken leg prevent a character from joining a big battle? Does the flu present an extra challenge to going to their daughter's dance recital? Does being weak or out of the action aggravate their hero complex or self worth issues prompting growth or self-reflection? Does a captive's injuries complicate a rescue mission? Does having their dominant arm injured force a usually brunt force reliant powerhouse to be more creative in their strategies? Does the overpowered character have to rely on their friends/allies more because of a certain injury?
Use the injury to show the level of a character's commitment or mental toughness, use it as an obstacle they have to work around, use it to up the stakes, use it to force them to be vulnerable or else show how unwilling they are to being vulnerable, use it to thwart the main team's perfect plan, use it to push a situation into even more dire straits, use it as an alternative to character death, etc etc. These are just a few ideas, there are numerous different ways you can use different injuries/illnesses in stories. Really think about how it could affect or reveal things about the plot, characters, and relationships.
As always, remember writing advice is highly subjective. Find what works for you. My number one writing advice is always to not take writing advice as hard truths :) happy writing!

A fun way imo to develop characters is to look at them and ask, "what does this imply?" This unfortunately only works if you already have a character concept in mind, but it's always been useful for me when I need to create some interiority for a character who feels a little flat.
As previously stated, literally all you're doing is looking at a character and performing a rudimentary analysis of them based on what you've already developed. A good example of this is my character Mordred, who early on in his development was conceived of as a sickly looking teenager wearing a full suit and bowtie. This is because I thought there was a lot of potential in this image. "What kind of teenager goes to school everyday wearing a full suit and bowtie?" Probably a kid who takes himself very seriously and has some interest in looking "polished" -- perhaps he even views himself above his peers for how he dresses. And, how might this visual extend to other aspects of him? Is he always someone who goes against the grain? Does he actually have an interest in men's wear, or is this a symbolic image for how he stands against his peers? I bet he has strong opinions on society. Did he buy the suit himself, or did his mom buy it, because one or the other also implies some stuff about the nature of their relationship, if his mother is supportive of his oddness or not, etc. etc. etc. A lot of stuff that you can find out, just from looking at one small aspect of a character! The same kind of process can spiral from anything - a character's actions, a character's thoughts, their beliefs, a line they say, a face they make, a hobby they have... all can be a good starting point for developing them further and figuring out more about them.
In a similar vein, I know that people recommend filling out character charts and stuff, but usually I find it more useful to think of a character in terms of a "scenario" or a "description" than in terms of their traits. "This character is smart" vs. "This characters complains to the teacher when the test has a question that isn't in the book" ; "This person is stubborn" vs. "This is the kind of person who'd rather starve than order food if they said they weren't hungry." Figuring out a character through something like this gives me a specific image of how they might act in a story as opposed to more broadly-described traits. Being as I tend to think up characters with story ideas and scenarios, it's much more helpful for me! "Ah, but how do you do this, Gert?" Easy: you stare at a wall for multiple hours until you have a revelation about a character. This is surely what everyone is capable of [nodding sagely]
#wow im rereading this and this advice is really bad. anyway [posts]#i also generally think of characters in terms of their role in a story/develop them in conjunction with a plot#which makes like 90% of online character development advice worthless to me :(

Thinking about how some modern comics writers (Tom Taylor) write the batfam and why it doesn't sit right (this post centers around the robins because of their training but some of that reflexion would definitely fit for Barbara and Cass as well.)
The thing with writing a team of people with similar training and strength is you can't take the easy route of "well this one is the smart one! And this one is the flexible one! And this one is the strong one!" .... which is obviously reductive to all of their characters. Obviously, they have interpersonal differences; Dick, being raised as an acrobat, is the most flexible, but that doesn't mean that every single one of these little fuckers doesn't like to bend, twist and somersault to dodge bullets like an annoying worm on a string being flung around in the sky. They're Robins. Obviously, Jason is the bulkiest, but that doesn't mean they don't all go through hardcore conditioning -Tim is only considered "frail" when you put him between Bruce and Jason, this guy would bench-press you any day, come on. (And DC editorial can lie to us about the girls' weights and heights and make them at the limit of ed-territory even though they're doing parkour and hardcore martial arts every day but I know the truth, Steph's strong as hell, homegirl's got bazooka-level guns). Obviously Damian was raised in the League and is proficient in a bunch of martial arts, but they all received training from a bunch of different experts, including, for all of them, the same guy (that they are all so normal and chill about.) Obviously, Tim is the one who used detective work to figure out everyone's identity but you're kidding yourself if you think he's the only intelligent/detective one amongst the robins. Being smart and a detective is a defining part of all of their characterization, and so is being a leader and a strategist. And then of course with that kind of simplified characterization we end up with Steph being "the girl robin" and Damian "the assassin one/stabby one" and Duke "the meta one" (yes this post counts Duke as a Robin. They trained him and also just cause I wanted to. I love him.)
And even if we make an effort and try to dissect it "this one is the detective smart one! And this one is the strategist! and this one is smart in a more techy-way! And this one is the leader! And this one- hey what kind of intelligence do we have left..." obviously doesn't work either. Duke was a exhilarating strategist in WaR already, Jason's strategic work in UTH and detective in Lost Days is thrilling, Damian is a fucking child surgeon (do I need to develop how intelligent that kid is), Dick was the first leader of the Titans and is always doing detective work like, that's an inherent part of his character, Duke was a cute-ass baby doing puzzles and planning to defeat the Riddler himself, Steph literally became Spoiler to stop Cluemaster (girl knows to solve riddles that would make Nygma shit his pants), they've almost all lead a team at some point, etc, etc. All of this is great and cool and a character being great doesn't take away from the skills of another character! Stark contrasts cannot possibly be the only interesting team dynamics, especially since they already have their own teams of contrasting skillset and personalities.
Imo, best robin team-up dynamics is them stepping on eachother's toes with their plans, getting into rapid-fire brainstorming sessions where they're all finishing eachother's sentences, reaching a conclusion and saying it out loud at the same time, one of them having a crazy ass plan and suggesting it to the other and the other saying "i like the way you think" to that person who thinks exactly like them, getting mad at eachother for being stubborn while also being a stubborn little shit, pulling complicated acrobatics together, and just thriving solving a good old complicated mystery with other people who are just as competent and enthusiastic about detective work as them but not a carbon copy, with extremely specific strength and weaknesses and quirks (like Dick's ability to recognise heroin by putting it in his mouth, Damian's uncanny voice imitation ability, etc.)
Of course, this doesn't even begin to touch the family drama, but honestly we get so much family drama angst with no real consequence rn, I'd really love just a robin team-up, relatively low-stakes (aka nothing taking over the city, the world, no past traumas unearthed to haunt them or parental abuse or secret cults etc etc.) Just a very elaborate murder mystery and a good excuse for all the robins to be there and a story that works with their similarities and their potential (both comedic and in terms of plot) rather than erasing it. It would be so much fun!

Is it weird that I don't feel excited for the Deadpool and Wolverine movie?
I feel like X-Men 97 already scratched that X-Men itch and obsession in my head. Plus I feel satisfied with artists like you making Wolverine polycule fanart and fancomics.
Is something wrong with my head???
I think your feelings are valid cause you don't need to watch something else if you already feel satisfied. I am hype for that movie because I enjoyed the first two Deadpool movies. I am not expecting to fall in love of Logan there, or the other x-men we might see. I am expecting to watch a ridiculous movie with silly jokes and funny action scenes. I am hoping Scott will have a cameo but I think it won't happen. I've never been a super fan of Logan movies. He is fun and interesting (plus the actor is very handsome so my eyes are always happy when he is on screen), but his big lone wolf energy was a bit too much for me. Maybe he is too handsome and awesome and in the animated serie, he is a grumpy short king who has a lot to say and his lone wolf personnality seems more understandable to me. I really enjoy how unhinged he is in the 92 show and how he was in 97. It satisfies me a lot. I think you can take whatever please you in any adaptation and play around that. You don't need to enjoy every new adaptation from a franchise you like. There are some X-men comics where I find Scott really boring and not interesting at all. I enjoy very specifics things about him and therefore it makes me very picky about how he is portrayed. I still think I am a fan. I am a picky fan, but a fan regardless. Even if I mostly know the animated shows. I am tired of that childish fight "Oh I am a better fan cause I read the comics!" it is not a competition lmao! Enjoy whatever you want!! I personnaly read the comics cause I want more Scott content. That's my personnal reason. I want to know everything about him haha! I think we are many to be tired of the Jean/Scott/Logan drama ( where they are rivals instead of lovers) cause that rivality, usually, has a layer of misogyny and sexism. Jean is the prize and the 2 males love interests can't think straight and have to claim her. As if Jean has no choice but to accept the one who fight the hardest. I'm sorry but that is really stupid, and not how feelings work imo. That kind of relationship is based on something so weak, it will break at the first issue they would meet . I personnaly find that kind of writting insulting for every character involved, and it breaks the sincerity and depth of the romance. It removes all kind of feelings, character development and personnalities. It makes them so immature too. The polycule road on the other hand shows they could build something different. They could break the rules and be free to make their own. And as mutants, they don't care about humans society stupid rules. The can write what works for them and gain maturity over their relationship and sexuality. I am not saying every couples have to become a polycule to be mature. But for Scott, Jean and Logan it seems like a better fit for them. They can still act silly and fight over randoms things, but removing that very unhealthy incomplete love triangle and make it an actual love triangle, where each individual have romantic feelings for each other is better for them imo.
