Jungkook X OT6 - Superheroes

Superhero Jungkook whose power is that if he believes he can do something, he can just do it. And I mean like anything at all. 

The problem is that he’s really insecure and if there’s even one small part of him that doesn’t think he can do it, he won't be able to. Which is the reason he hasn’t been on a mission in years. The handlers tell him it’s because he’s young and should train more but he knows it’s because they don’t believe in him. And that makes it really hard to believe in himself.

He gets worse the longer he trains and the handlers don’t know what to do with him, because he’s useless to them but he’s still a super so they can’t just let him go, you know. That’s why, in a last ditch effort to make the kid be worth something, they shove him with the Bangtan group.

OT6 are a mismatched group of supers that got put together because they don’t fit anywhere else. They’re a collection of different personalities, different backgrounds and different powers but somehow, they work very well together. If Jungkook can’t get better with them, he’s a lost cause.

Of course, it takes OT6 a while to figure the kid out, because he’s shy and doesn’t want to talk to them and work with them but when they realize why - that Jungkook is so in his head, so scared of letting anyone down, that he doesn’t even want to try anymore, they’re ready to raise hell over him.

When the handlers come for a monthly evaluation, Namjoon tells them to fuck off, that they’re making progress with Jungkook and he doesn’t need them coming in, screwing everything up. It's all a lie at this point, but Jungkook looks at him like he hung the stars and the moon and when Namjoon goes to talk to him afterwards, he manages to convince him to try again.

"I wanna make you proud, hyung," Jungkook admits, "but I'm scared of letting you down too."

Namjoon just looks at him, already so proud of the kid and says, "You could never let me down."

 There’s more to Jungkook that they find out about later, of course. Like the fact that the reason he first started getting insecure was that the handlers were sending him on dangerous solo missions, "since he can do anything, right?"

Jungkook was young, confident in the way a cocky teen is, but that didn’t stop him from getting scared - and those solo missions were terrifying! The handlers didn’t care about that of course, they just saw him screw up several missions in a row and decided that he wasn’t good enough.

OT6 are understandably livid when Jungkook admits that to them, ages after he actually started going on missions with them. Yoongi half jokingly suggests that they rebel against the company but no one laughs and several of them actually look at him like they want to hear more, but that would be crazy. Right?

So Alice being standoffish and generally rather rude towards Celia cause she's essentially a jealous ex is cute n ok

But Sam being annoyed and exhausted [& therefore rude] when his ex [who is implied to have a history of using slightly-less-moral methods to try and get him to stop chasing his obsessions] was once again seemingly using less-than-moral methods (lying) to once again stop him from chasing after his obsession is just rude and 'I can't defend you for this one'. Bro.

Surely there’s a balance between acknowledging you have a lower social battery and limited social availability that makes it more difficult to sustain a level of intimacy and consistent social contact with other people AND on the other hand there has to be a limit to enabling your avoidant tendencies and fear of intimacy and you have to just push yourself to do things you’re scared of. Right. This is one of those [lil Wayne voice] I was talking to myself posts btw

I noticed this yesterday and it's driving me crazy! I can't believe I never noticed before, because it's my favorite panel, but Eso doesn't have a wine glass. Considering the anime also didn't give him a wine glass, this feels significant? Symbolic or something? There are two bottles of wine, red and white. Yet Choso, yuji, and kechizu all have glasses of the red wine. Potentially the green bottle is sake and not white wine, but it does look more like a wine bottle in shape to me. But there are no sake cups on the table. And that green bottle is closest to Eso. What could it mean? It seems so intentional. They could've had both bottles be red wine but they didn't, the red wine is closest to Choso. The anime could've retconed and given Eso a glass but they didn't. In the manga, their glasses appear empty. But the anime included the wine in those glasses. Red wine. They could've given some of them the white wine/sake, but they didn't. They all had the red wine. All of their glasses are to the left of their plates, lining chosos up with yujis and kechizus. All the glasses on that one side of the table. Eso alone on the other side, no wine glass. Bottle next to him, seemingly unopened. What does it mean? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?????
