something about the main menu for life is strange genuinely makes me wanna collapse and sob

#this is so incredibly niche omg im sorry#i was feeling nostalgic about my drarry times#i dont think i ever mentioned why i left the drarry fandom#sorry about that#its a boring story#in 2018 i got quite sick and struggled with my health#one side effect was me not being able to concentrate for longer periods of time#making me unable to read and draw drarry for the first time since i joined the fandom in 2005#when i got better i started slow by watching shows#thats how i got into The Untamed and got sucked into it#since i caj only hyperifxate on one thing at a time i just lost interest in drarry sadly#or maybe i subconciously assocciated it with my health struggles?#anyway this year i stumbled upon a drarry fic rec and coincidentally it was the last fic i read before getting sick#away childish things by lettered#btw#and i never got around to finishing it bc of everything#and i wanted closure maybe so i wanted to reread it#but that kinda led me to remembering why i loved drarry so much#and i miss it#i miss old fandom days on livejournal#sending christmas fandom postcards all around the world#so yeah#i wanted to do something to honor the 2 fandoms in my life that are very dear to me#love u all#sorry for the long story#for such a silly picture#wangxian#mdzs#drarry#the untamed

ok so for some reason, someone on pinterest (none of the posts say who) has uploaded a load of edited photos of punk that made his skin smoothed and pale, and reddened his lips. But for some reason, I've come across LOADS of the them today (some uploaded multiple times just zoomed in different amounts). Not gonna post em all, but here's some of them cos it reminds me of when people did this to his photos back in 2012 and cos i get a kick out of it

‘the children yearn for the mines’ is a little too real to me bc when i was a kid and my older siblings were trying to get me into pokémon i really never cared to try playing. BUT. i was obsessed with the underground mining minigame in dppt. i used to beg my sister to let me take a turn playing and set it up for me bc i didn’t know how to so i could go mine for gems nonstop until i cleared that entire cave section of glittering wall spots which always made me so sad bc i was having such a great time. i didn’t even understand the significance of what i was doing but 7 year old me was high off of it
#years and years later when i actually played platinum myself and it hit me like OH this is the game with the mining thing!!!#you have no idea how happy i was#…and also sad. it made me kinda heartsick bc in my childhood nostalgia dreams#my brother and sister used to play online together and do capture the flag#and their little minigame battles in the underground with their cool secret bases were so fun to watch#like that was back when the wifi connection was working and the games were alive and relevant#but i came back to it far far too late. when it was a mere relic and i was alone with no other players#still. hearing the music again brought a smile to my face#pokémon#dppt#i am once again rambling about my very special relationship to sinnoh#i didn’t play pokémon as a kid but also yes i did it was part of my childhood. like without really knowing much about it#the lil character sprites. hearthome city theme#the contests#the crunchy sound of the map opening#and the incomprehensible map itself#the bike and surf music#empoleon and staravia’s cries as they went to use surf and fly#truly. being a younger sibling watching your older sibling play has such an impact on you#it’s all nostalgic to me too i just didn’t know the full context of it myself back then#couple all this with the weird feeling of having played pokémon legends arceus as my first own game#and THEN going and finally checking out dppt#it was like double nostalgia. two different half-nostakgia experiences#just. agh i make fun of gen 4 for a lot of things but it is fundamentally my heart isn’t it#i also literally am incapable of talking about it for more than 5 minutes without bringing pla into it lol#pokeposting

I really do believe that any devastating queer horror film worth it's salt that breaks into the mainstream should have just as many one star reviews from confused cis people as it does five star reviews from people saying it changed their life
#i saw the tv glow#i don't usually ever read google reviews of films but some people are sort of sheepishly editing their scathing reviews to be like#sorry i did not realise this was uhhh an allegory i feel bad for thinking it was dumb#the guy next to me in the cinema sighed loudly a couple of times to make it clear that he found the whole film a bit silly#it seems to have struck a chord with people who went into this film thinking it would be for them#kinda nostalgic stranger things type vibe#and that's why some of the reviews are soooo angry

went to the state fair yesterday and tried so so much good food !!! my favorite things were the pickle lemonade (literally my favorite drink ever since i first tried it a couple weeks ago) and the fried pickles and the roasted corn. feeling like a true midwesterner after that :-)
#although i will say the pickle lemonade i tried by the lake by our house was a lot better#it was punchier#the ones at the fair were watered down a bit i think just from the ice melting in the heat#but it’s just SO refreshing#genuinely something my dr would prescribe for one of my health conditions is a shot of pickle juice#so it was so rejuvenating LOL#it was rly fun !! my home state doesn’t have a state fair like THAT#but it took me back to my 4H days :#when i competed agility w my childhood dog as a kid and camped out to do some horse riding events and archery#and pigs and chickens and such#rly nostalgic haha#i only did pigs one year bc it was too sad#but i was a chicken girl through and through#4H is what started me down the dog trainer career path and sparked that interest as a hobby#i didn’t pursue it seriously until a long time later and have since taken a hiatus bc of burnout but#it did remind me why i fell so head over heels in love w it#something abt being so in tune w another creature like that is just#so special#we didn’t get to watch the stunt dogs tho we missed the show :((#i kinda want to go back again to see them perform#kinda feeling like it might reignite something in me and maybe i’ll start making steps to be a trainer again#i’ve been missing it#personal

Saw a kid frustratingly tapping over and over again on the coke icon on the drinks machine touch screen in Burger King and it made me realise that given his age, he's probably not had to endure the hell of resistive touch screens
Probably never had to the endure fist fighting a janky ass android tablet or DS touch screen just to open an app or game
#this isn't a 'kids these days will never' kinda post i do just find it interesting#you even brush your finger slightly on a modern capacitve touch screen and it triggers something#idk if the drinks machines in restaurants/cinemas are just built different but they're always super unresponsive#makes me feel a tad nostalgic#blah

XD#he said there was a camp ground seasonal janitor who came down one day to clean up after summer#and on the way it was dark- he couldnt see the roads very well- and so. yeah. he hit a kangaroo.#when he realised there was nothing he could do. the kangaroo was dead. he just moved on#started doing his work.#but... the kangaroo got back up. it was missing a leg but it managed to struggle to the bathrooms the janitor was cleaning.#the kangaroo ripped the janitor apart as revenge and used the mans mop as a new leg.#this kangaroo no longer jumps- it walks with a#shhhhhh-thump.#shhhhhhhh-thump.#shhhhhhhhhhhhhh-thump.#//#so yeah. thats ny favourite XD its spooky and it gives me nostalgic vibes honestly 😅#when i'm in the bush i kinda feel like the ghost kangaroo is looking out for me! 😅#not my dads intention but... what can i do? #doctor who#doctor who music#murray gold#segun akinola#musings about music#this is specifically about 10's theme in vale decem. the long song in 11's regen piece. and clara's theme in face the raven / clara's diner#i get psychic damage everytime i simply hear the use of the motifs elsewhere because of the tragic associations those sadder renditions hav#obviously these songs aren't the only examples in doctor who but they are by far the most emotionally devastating ones for me personally#and obviously it isn't just leitmotifs either. basically hearing any piece that played during a sad scene gets to me.#how are you supposed to explain to your coworkers that you're tearing up because of instrumental sound association?#'yeah sorry these violins and humming sounds summoned vivid images of my favourite character dying/leaving and it made me sad'#love that composers can just straight up pavlov bell your emotions by getting you to associate a melody with a sad scene#an addition to this is doctor who instrumentals that make me nostalgic because I associate them with my own past#like 'this is gallifrey: our childhood. our home'. that song was one of my alarms for a good long while back when i was 15ish#so it kinda transports me back to that time in my life whenever i hear it. music really is its own little kind of time travel#i am very much looking forward to the continuing psychological damage murray gold will inflict upon me in the new season#and to have previously uplifting character leitmotifs used against me and forever be contaminated with sad feelings. love to see it#(also: not a instrumental but damn 'the stowaway' has no right being as good as it is. who knew a christmas sea shanty could sound so great#apologies for this probably niche-ish post (is it niche to know ost title's by heart? asking for friend). just feeling things about music

I'm so sad that I don't have recordings of their "main" scenes (or that most of the shots that I do have are from before I could have optimized things to be able to run on high settings), but at least I have these ❤️

#im going through my old art summaries as i'm prepping this year's#and... man. i've been hard on myself lately but god i do actually draw very well and i should be proud of that#it can be hard sometimes and it won't always come out perfect#but when i go hard. i Go HARD#i should be less afraid to make mistakes and be more adventurous when i draw stuff#looking back at all this stuff from the last decade... it's made me happy. which is sorta weird cuz up until now it made me feel kinda sad#like i thought the last few years especially had been kind of flops but tbh i've done a lot! and i think many of the things i did were cool#idk i'm feeling good and nostalgic now#hoping for a good art year in the coming year. i wanna challenge myself more and keep getting better
