he's probably used to gore and gritty stuff like that since he sees it often being a jujutsu sorcerer and all. not to mention his technique is literally blood. maybe he's desensitized to gore films, the most you'll get from him is a disgusted scowl.

i feel like they get him most in horror because of the music building up anticipation. if its one of those fake outs where the jumpscare comes a bit after, he's fucked UP. It makes him instantly miffed, as he tries to regain his composure. He swears he's not usually like this, it got him by surprise is all..!

Noritoshi is the type that'd only watch a horror movie if the story is rich and complex. He's the type of guy to like open endings that make you think.. if it's a guilty pleasure movie where all the protags make stupid decisions, he gets annoyed right off the bat.

He's groaning and complaining about how imbecile the characters are, but would still watch it with you because you personally invited him. If he's lucky you could fall asleep on his shoulder or [insert movie cliche here] how could he pass that up? But Noritoshi wouldn't be able to focus on you if he gets twice as annoyed because its a bad movie + jumpscares. it still startles him, but the movie is so terrible, he's embarrassed it got him, especially in front of you!!!

if you get involved and you tell him to quiet down, Noritoshi would shift his focus towards you. like that awkward guy who thinks he's being smooth and lowkey about how he cuddles up next to you. He wants to be the tough guy who's shoulder you can hide in, and he is!! just not.. with jumpscares.......

I struggled so much to plot out this book structure and after like five versions finally ended up breaking it into seven sections, and as I'm going into the final two, I've realized that in the end, it's broken down by accident (or instinct) into a perfect three act structure.

As it turns out you can take the writer out of the screenplay but you can't take the screenplay out of the writer.

I have feelings about today's episode!!! And I never write meta so y'all...

I enjoyed Pah's choice of behavior.

I enjoyed it because it feels real. This is what happens when you have people between 19 and 22 working in their first professional environment, especially if they've never been tasked or asked to be this professional before. Professionally, they are newborns. They don't know how to do this. Decisions and conflict resolution concerning personal matters in a professional space are So. Freakin'. Hard.

Even when you have years under your belt (Looking at you P'Jane with your possible ex showing up)

The newbies don't know how to do it yet. Of course, they look like a freshly lit dumpster fire. Look at who we have in the game: -(very) emotionally underdeveloped people, -Sympathetic people -Loyal People -Rejection/ Disharmony Sensitive people -Highly Observant, etc.

All of these people are in a semi-friendly or established friend group. And they work together?!

It's messy. It can't be anything other than, and to expect that is to subvert all the understanding we've been led to so far in this show. This show has layered comedy on top of very real, uncomfortable tidbits of work life. This basket of humans contains my FAVORITE HR violations of the season (and we're in an era of Long Beans, and SunsetxVibes!!)

I personally hope the messiness is not fixed immediately. In real life, it lingers. If Pah is down for his homie, and in his corner, that's his right. He expressed it unprofessionally of course but it's his first time dealing with this type of emotional strife in a work setting. It takes time to rebuild bridges, especially if he's blasted it apart to the degree we're being led to think he has. If he's on team F the Ex, then we might see either an ice-out or immediate groveling, I have no clue yet. But I'll be watching.

All of this to say today's episode makes these young NEW professionals seem extra human and makes me pay attention to them. I'm invested in these connecting Venn-diagram-like circles of relationships.

Irreversible damage was done to me that day. It's crazy because Shigeki has NO idea the implications that statement has.

The minute Shigeki mentions Kazuki's name, Rei is so quick to remove him from the situation. He situates any and all failures as solely his own and tries to separate Kazuki from the himself as much as possible. I think he tries to separate himself from Kazuki even more so after the incident with his mentor because the events of the night confirm that Kazuki is something Rei is not and that is a good person.

Weird intersection between growing up & figuring it all out.

Sometimes you remember something that really fucken bothered you with vague amusement, but sometimes it really haunts you in a way that feels alive; malicious with intent.

There was this time when a cute boy in my 6th grade AP Math class at a shitty school was going to move away in literally the middle of the day. He walked across the front row of the whole classroom saying goodbye to people, shaking hands, and I like... went for a "cool handshake" that did NOT land.

It was so awkward. You know when someone goes for that clasp thing and a shake. The homie clasp, you know the one. It was that but painfully sweaty, awkward, absolutely awful, and he jerked away like he'd been burned.

All compounded by me, at the time, being the incredibly irritating "smart girl" of the class rotation that nobody liked. Big teeth, glasses, old clothes, and the worst nasal voice. I don't think I ever even spoke to him at length but you know, crushes are weird.

God, that shit bothers me even now, hahahaha. I'm a quarter-century old and I can remember the vague disgust on his face. People have legitimately said I was the worst thing that ever happened to them, or claimed that they only tolerated me for my free art. But AJ from 6th Grade haunts me.

Anyway, fumbling the cute boy from 6th Grade AP Math did not impact my rizz. So there's that.
