Klarion is delighted, excited, impatient, and so very happy. He’s found a friend, not the justice league baby-crew who don’t know how to make friends properly or the order-magician who doesn’t play right, but another realm-being his age! They’re even around the same death-date, his is just a couple years earlier! But to beings who aren’t adults until they’re well into the hundreds that’s practically nothing!

His new friend even has a familiar too- even if he has to explain what a familiar is- and, and even shares his two other friends with him! 

He’s been in this world for what feels like so long trying to make friends and he’s made three in just a month! And they even know how to properly play and wrestle without targeting Teekl like a certain order lord who he doesn’t like. 

Oh! Hey it’s the justice league kiddy-crew! Were they feeling neglected or something?

Heather is 38 in this AU

Just like Alejandro, she took some time after All Stars to get some much-needed therapy and completely separate from her parents.

Luckily, Sierra stuck by her side throughout all of it.

As eccentric as the girl may have been, she was a faithful companion, and Heather could tolerate her. However, that tolerance turned to genuine friendship, and then adoration.

Soon enough, Heather found that she was in love with Sierra, and she couldn't keep that a secret from the other girl.

Little did she know that while she had fallen hard, Sierra had fallen harder.

When Heather decided to ask Sierra out, the other girl agreed before she could even finish her sentence.

The dating was great, but they both knew they wanted more. Getting married seemed like the most logical option in that case.

Thanks to Heather's job as a CEO in a major business and Sierra's journalism work, they were able to have the wedding of their dreams.

On February 4th, 2013, they had their daughter. The name they chose for her was "Mary Kate," or "MK" for short.

Heather and Alejandro are petty besties in the future and would kill for each other.

I have a "torture" for your imaginary kids game au! I don't know what it's called in other countries or if it even exists anywhere else (lol), but in my language it's literally just "nettle-game". It was a weird challenge among children in the yard, the essence of which was that one child takes another child by the wrist or slightly higher with both hands and twists the skin in one direction. The essence of this event was that children tested their childish willpower and pain threshold or smth lmao. Usually it happened like this: one child would approach each other, ask "can I make you some nettle? Or can't you handle it?" and depending on what the answer was, the other child would either agree and endure having their wrist twisted as not to "look like a baby", or nothing would happen, sometimes you were shamed for disagreeing so I always agreed and endured, not my brightest moment tbh. Little Quackity could do that to little Dream ;)

Hmmm sounds like an Indian (or Chinese) Burn, where you twist someone’s arm in opposite directions making it red like a sunburn, which I feel like was more a game of how red can we make your arm until you cry or tell them to stop type deal. Or used as a surprise prank/way to settle your anger… upon research there’s also a game called Slaps where you take turns slapping each other’s open palms, Mercy where the players compete to bend eachother wrists backward, which seems familiar, and one I never heard of called Scabby Queen, where upon losing in a card game the winner would run the deck across the loser’s knuckles or something. Brutal. I remember a thing where you’d go up and pinch people as a prank/almost tag game as they come for revenge. Seems like although I’m not familiar with that specific kids game, there are multiple of similar nature… really making me realize just how violent we were as kids.

Scar sometimes feels a little embarrassed that his interests skew "too young" for his age. Whether he's 3 or 8, he prefers soft toys and board books, stuffed animals that rattle or crinkle, and preschool-targeted cartoons.

After the whole fiasco with the Justice League, Danny gets an idea. Not very many people actually know about Laika, at least from what he could see of the majority of the Justice League who had never learned about her. Although, to be fair, a lot of them come from different planets. Either way, it gives Danny the idea to create a YouTube channel starring Laika to teach the people of Earth about the pup.

The channel immediately garners attention from all around the world, and even winds up on a couple of news stations too! It grows so much that Danny decides to expand further than just Laika, but to the other things that were sent into space in the quest for knowledge: The space rovers as well as many other animals.

Laika even leads Danny to them as he ventures further into space with a specially made camera that can withstand traversing space and the differing atmosphereic conditions of other planets. He manages to find every single one of them, discovering that maybe Laika hadn't been as alone as he'd first thought as he watches and records her playing with the spirits (imprints?) of the rovers, chimps, mice, and many other animals haunting the endless void of the cosmos.

People back on earth are going wild with the knowledge that their hopes, thoughts, and feelings helped to give life to beings that had long been dead/stopped working. They have no idea what to feel about this new information except an amalgamation of pure awe, curiosity, joy, guilt, and sadness. They still mourned the loss of Laika, the rovers, and everyone before and after them, but knowing that their existence wasn't completely lost soothed an ache many didn't know they carried with them when they were there to witness the beginning of such astronomical leaps in technology.

To also know that out of the many stars shooting across the sky, one of them might be Laika happily racing amongst the stars with her friends brought many to tears. At every opportunity, they wished for the sweet pup's happiness and the continuing health of their own furry companions down on Earth with them. They also wished that upon the eventuality that they have to part with their companions that maybe a few of them would join Laika and her friends in stars to keep them company for many years to come.

Although many of these wishes were heard by Desiree, she refused to touch such hopeful and well-meaning wishes for fear of twisting them in unseemly ways, allowing them to form on their own. The other ghosts among Danny's rouges even made a deal with each other to not interfere or attack the town when Danny was recording his videos out in space.

It was beyond bad manners to interfere with another ghost's obsession, after all.

I'm gonna go cry some more. I've learned more about the progress of space exploration in the past couple hours than I probably should. This is the last thing I'm adding onto this prompt. If any of y'all wanna continue it, be my guest!

Notes:

(*) One more thing to add. Where are the ghost hunters/Guys in White during all of this? If they start making a fuss over Phantom and all the ghost animals, do they get a bunch of civilians raiding their government facilities and causing them bodily harm? What's happening with the Justice League? Are they sitting back and eating popcorn while all this goes down? Who knows. :)

in the past few days i was listening to the podcast detailing the allegations against neil gaiman and there's a lot, lot going on there, but specifically there's a level of horrifying to him pressuring one of the women involved into signing an NDA 1) knowing full well its a tactic to scare away any unpleasant accusations from a not legally savy 23yo since NDAs cannot prevent the reporting of a crime 2) the coercive nature that he was fully supporting her economically by giving her rent money that he could cut off at any moment. DIEEEEEE
